More of a visual novel than a proper "game" with many navigational annoyances, some of the choices are divergent and with no manual save system this means you'll have to replay the game over and over again just to see slightly different flavors. For something that pretends to be about player choices none of your decisions end up mattering all that much, not to mention the art is often amateurish and without proper voice acting the whole thing just falls flat. What is supposed to be a visceral and gritty crime thriller is a clicking bore fest that's also glitched out on me multiple times, would not recommend even on sale the whole thing feels stuck together with duct tape.

A decent enough visual novel with great artwork, though the animation feels stiff and awkward at times. The narrative isn't particularly unique, but it does make an effort to tell a captivating story—and occasionally succeeds.
The characters are somewhat stereotypical, but that’s to be expected in a murder mystery. The game is rather short and misses some opportunities to deliver a more engaging plot, but overall, I enjoyed it for what it was.

This game is rough around the edges, sure. Quite a few visual bugs, gameplay is not exactly smooth, and the story feels inconsistent - it's a drag first two chapters and it's rushed in the last one. Sometimes there are no music where it's supposed to be, UI hints come and go as they please. Long story short, it's not a perfect game, and neither was Rival Games Ltd's next one, Thief of Thieves.
So why do I recommend it?
I think this game's got soul. It perfectly scratches the itch of a neo-noir detective story, even if it's full of cliche. You can see the people behind the curtains cared about what they were doing. Despite all its flaws, it drags you in until the very end, and there are quite a few choices branching out along the way.
Granted, this game could use more quality assurance that will never come. But it doesn't deserve to be forgotten.

Seeing the few reviews on the follow-up episodes I think I'll pass. I never hid a game in my library so far, but will do so with this one.
IMHO the episodes should have been combined into a single game when the third one was released. Feels like a money-grab to me. For about 2€, with 4.5 hours of playime overall it would be worth it (assuming the other episodes are similar in length)

Объекты наползают друг на друга, плохо представлен курсор, который вечно теряется, скудные движения персонажей, отсутствие эмоций, необходимых для погружения в происходящее. И отсутствие озвучки. В целом играть можно, но если сравнивать с крутыми играми, как: The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Deponia, Syberia и другие, то рядом она не стоит.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happineass of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Interesting and good game! It is like crime movie and you play different character trough it. You can choose things that change how story goes. Art is very unigue and music is good. Last episode have some bugs in it that make it get stuck and need restarting many times.
I guess the story may be good. Unfortunately, I did not had the patience. No minimal voice over is a big negative for me. I can only recommend if you expect a comic experience.

As far as what's uploaded I'm only on part 6 of my playthrough of, The Detail. But I just recorded part 10, and holy crap... It gets intense, I did not see that coming. I don't suspect there will be many more videos. I don't know, it's my first time playing through it. But I imagine it's got to be nearing the end.
The game started off really good, but not going to lie, it starts to lull through much of it, but I think it was to kind of dump all this on you and shock the senses. I had a high opinion of the game. Then I started to think it was getting a little boring, but I was committed to seeing it through. And now it has me again.
It's an over looked little gem from 2016. $3 dollars per episode, for three episodes at full retail price. But it goes on sale from time to time. Truly worth checking out. Before I played this... I had a small wee wee, no friends, no girlfriend, depression and absolutely no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.

This was on my backlog list for a while as an incomplete game. I remember finishing the first two episodes only while I barely began with the third and last. Going back I found it strange that while the 3rd was the last in what is referred to as season it was also the most interesting. As it ends in a cliffhanger I was very disappointed since I already knew there will be no more episodes (seasons). So this is a word of warning that while [i]The Detail[/i] is a great point-and-click game it remains incomplete.

It is an interesting adventure game with comic book style presentation. This sometimes means black-and-white scenarios which certainly give the story a noir feeling. The unique presentation is mainly apparent during cutscenes - otherwise you would call it simply cartoonish.
[b]On the go[/b]
Gameplay-wise this is a very linear game. You do not really have multiple locations to visit (at HQ you can use the elevator to visit several floors but other than that the game is pretty linear). You can interact with objects and talk to people (or look at them first) and pretty much that's it, all done sans inventory. The story has you control two detectives (one being a veteran) that are part of a special police unit. You have everything here that you need for a good story: corrupt cops, by-the-book cops, corrupt politicians, gangs, prostitution, falsified evidence etc. The branches the store page refers to are barely existent. Yes, there are achievements that are only unlockable if a certain decision was made in a previous episode but you would really need additional episodes to see the fruit of your decisions.

See foreword. This is an unfinished game with otherwise great characters and story. And while the music is great I do miss voice actors here. Also, there are 1 or 2 locations that are bugged and do not allow you to continue - this requires a complete restart of the episode.
Other than the above [i]The Detail[/i] is a great game. Too bad it is incomplete. It reminded me of another gem with similar fate: [i]Blues and Bullets[/i].

Aventura gráfica al estilo de las de Telltale pero de mucha menos calidad. Es una historia policíaca bastante típica donde mezclan drogas, prostitución, asesinato de un policía, políticos y polis corruptos...
En un inicio, me llamó la atención por el estilo, los gráficos, la animación, el tipo de juego... pero muy pronto me cansé de tener que leerlo todo (no hay voces) en un inglés con mucha jerga policíaca y abreviaturas que lo hacen bastante más denso y feo.
El control con el ratón no funciona bien, al menos no lo hace cuando tienes un mando también conectado.
Compré los tres episodios y todos son bastante cortos, menos mal que los pillé rebajados porque al precio normal no vale la pena.
No lo recomiendo.

It has MOUNTAINS of potential, I LOVE the art style, and the writing, though dry, feels a little DC, so there's some nostalgia there. But it's a little ballsy calling this episode 1 considering you get like 14 seconds of actual gameplay.
I will definitely keep following and hope for more, but this preview was less than a demo.
Was promising, but was abandoned before it was finished. There's little reason to invest time into this when you know the story is going nowhere.

Um jogo bem diferenciado!
What's the first thing about playing a game, any one? That you can actually play it. So I put this in windowed mode (first cause the constant switching between black screen and non-black screen makes my eyes hurt, second cause I play an idle game on the side, or watch a video, whatever), and want to drag this to the right side of my screen, as usual. What happens? The window spazzes out and inexplicably is dragged to the bottom whenever I try to drag it anywhere, right until it literally disappears from my screen and I have to force quit it with Alt + F4! Now being unable to drag the window at all, not having a windowed mode in the first place, or the window popping back to the middle of the screen (Sally Face...) is all something I've experienced, but this is a new one. Obviously, since I can't play the game the way I want, this is an automatic thumb down.
PS: and no, you can't Alt + Spacebar it.
PPS: and once again, this is a game where your choices matter for ♥♥♥♥. Always the same outcome, no matter what you pick. Also, the point and click parts are completely superfluous, as there aren't any puzzles, or even an inventory. The writing and micro-choices are decent enough (you can go violent cop or cut deals with the criminals (and I mean criminals, there aren't any "suspects" here), but there really isn't any reason this isn't a visual novel, or even is a game to begin with. And when you look at it as just a written story or movie script, it's really nothing to write about (pun intended). And this is really really short but at the same time very cumbersome to play.
PPPS: despite your choices not mattering, you need to replay episodes, and even PREVIOUS episodes to make certain choices if you want to 100% this. All that in a game with no free saving. ♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥.
Not bad for it's price. Story felt rushed though, especially in the last episode. The big reveal could've been a lot better if there were more interactions between the main characters.

Ну, котаны, я вообще хз.
Сюжет и отдельные его идеи недокручены и иной раз выглядят глупо. Тут и куча расследований и сюжетных линий, обрывающихся ни на чем, и подруга детства, которую мы знать не знаем и которая начинает лезть целоваться к женатому герою после 5 минут пребывания на экране (это, типа, "моральный выбор", котаны, поясняю) и много других мелких несуразностей. Замах на все сразу, а по итогу никуда толком попасть не получилось. Игра слабо работает, как детектив, не дотягивает персонажами и сюжетом на толковый нуар, сюжет разваливается на микро-истории, оканчивающиеся ничем, а часть из них запихнули в такие сжатые рамки, что они не успевают раскрыться, из-за чего и выборы выглядят несуразными.
Вот честно, лучше бы угорели по полной и выдали солянку из нуарных клише. Мне кажется, все по такому соскучились и с удовольствием поиграли бы. А так, не вышло признания любви к нуару, а сами по себе сюжет и персонажи звезд с неба не хватают.
В игре отвратительная анимация и лица. Эти два фактора сильно портят впечатление от прохождения. Глядя на лица персонажей, которым будто лопатой мордасы ковыряли, на их кривую походку, словно потом эту же самую лопату им в задницу засунули, невольно начинаешь думать о дропе. Атмосфера в таких играх очень важна, а подобные косяки разрушают ее. Причем, как мне кажется, часть недостатков можно было бы легко исправить, просто отказавшись от анимации, заменив ее комиксными вставками.
Не сказать, что визуальный стиль плох "от" и "до". Но запоминающихся локаций или интересных визуальных решений игре явно не хватает.
Музыка неплохая, вписывается в антураж.
Сам геймплей - что-то вроде упрощенного point and click. Вариативность в диалогах и нелинейность сюжета - мнимые, все ограничивается конкретной ситуацией и влияет только на выдаваемую игроку ачивку.
Баги тоже имеются, в 3-й эпизоде пришлось игру дважды перезагружать, не появлялись варианты действий.
Тем не менее, я поиграл с относительным удовольствием. Скорее, потому что соскучился хоть по какому-нибудь нуару, чем благодаря игре. Последняя стерильна до невозможности. Она не смогла предложить чего-то своего достойного, но при этом постеснялась просто воспроизвести жанровые клише. В лучших традициях 21 века мы имеем то ли мальчика то ли девочку, который(ая) мнется перед дверями туалетов и не знает, в М он(а) хочет или в Ж. Пресность сюжета и визуального стиля венчают мерзкие лица с анимациями, ждитепродолжениямывсерасскажем вместо нормальных концовок для большинства историй, мнимая нелинейность и куцый гемплей.
Постфактум, уже после завершения прохождения, я понимаю, что не могу выделить ни одного плюса, хотя ощущения на душе положительные. Возможно, я просто повелся на хоть какой-то нуар при практически полном отсутствии игр в таком жанре.
Мне правда понравилось проходить The Detail, но я сильно сомневаюсь, что это хорошая игра. Мне совесть не позволяет рекомендовать игру, которую я хочу выгородить, чтобы был хоть небольшой повод оставить положительный обзор, но не могу придумать ни одного аргумента.

Сюжет увлекает , даже несмотря на привычные штампы: главаря одной из бандитских группировок, из-за убийства которого и начинается весь сыр-бор, зовут Дмитрий Невский. По сюжету, он возглавлял украинскую мафию, а среди конкурентов были «обязательные» латиносы и китайцы. Тем не менее это действительно очень качественный, стильно нарисованный нуар со всеми (ну почти) полагающимися приложениями. И главное, тут есть мрачный циничный детектив, который избивает подозреваемых, нервирует коллег и начальство и недобро острит («морг — последний ваш отель c лучшим кондиционером в городе»).

Game breaking i got to the station and once you get into the elevator part and go floor to floor i ended back onto the floor with my desk and now i cant go back to the lobby to leave, also there is a lot of graphical errors when TY is using his mouse and its moving he ends up with two right arms moving like theyre ghosting each other plus any conversation with a person where it zooms to their faces who ever is on the right side ends up having thin black lines and or boxes around either the eyes or jaw line area etc. I have reloaded the game a few times to try to leave the station with no luck rendering the game unplayable past this point.
It is a fun story driven game with beautiful drawings and an intriguing storyline. I really enjoyed the optics of this game and the overall experience was very good. You can probably play through the whole thing in about 5 hours if you want to rush it. If you don't like to read this might not be a game for you. As you will need all episodes to complete this game and the story i would advise to wait for a sale and get them all together. But then again there have been rumours this will be taken off steam.
For achievement hunters this is an easy 100% within 10-12 hours. Nothing challenging to stand your way.
This game wishes it was [i]The Wire[/i], but it's actually the point & click game equivalent of Meghan McCain tweeting fearfully about how New York has fallen from of her overpriced condo.

Nice detective game that gives you a feeling of reading a comic book. But here the end of the story depends on the choices you make, which is great. I think this game should be more popular and it could recieve a great sequel.

У него есть семья, любимые жена и дочка, с которыми нужно общаться и опять же выбирать, как себя вести: успокаивать, говорить правду или врать и отмалчиваться. Перед сном он рассказывает дочке сказку, и мы сами решаем, о чем в ней пойдет речь, — получилось очень трогательно и необычно.
То есть, как в настоящем нуаре, здесь нашлось место не только для бандитских разборок и полицейских будней, но и для личной драмы.

I've had to restart the game a couple times to either let me click on anything, get the music going again, or stop the game from auto-continuing dialogue.

Overall i found this game dull and unengaging.
This is another example of what is fundamentally a flash game trying really hard to pass as something else. It's not a point & click adventure, its just a really buggy graphic novel cobbled together with a boring predictable plot, cardboard cliché characters and divided in three episodes for no good reason - maybe there is some short of financial reason, I'm not saying they did this to milk money off of buyers, more likely someone needed to comply with some arbitrary deadline.
Truly, I don't even decry the few cents I wasted on this, who cares? I don't. But the time I wasted on it, that's an hour or so I could have watched the most boring episode of any of the thousand CSI alike-shows and have had a much better time. Unlike other people, I'm not giving it a pass on visuals nor on sound, this was simply not good on any level.
Swapping between characters isn't fun, and only shows how thread bare the story is, 'cause god forbid the player isn't controlling every single thing going on in the boring plot. Seeing any of the controlled characters having the blandest conversations, while slowly dragging their doll like motion across the screen is the definition of waste of time (no you can't skip any of this nonsense). And add on top of this the most annoying and unnecessary quick time events. Also, none of the choices matter. At. All. You can literally just press anything at random and not read a single line of what is going on. If you're unfortunate enough to have bought this and want to finish it anyway, just brute force through it, keep clicking, you'll see the end of it.
And don't let the presentation trick you. There are a few "scenes" that are well drawn, and look like a comic book, but those are all up there in the store page, the rest is truly abysmal, unless you want to go back in time to 2003 in the glory days of macromedia flash/shockwave. You'll even see the borders of the textures of the characters faces where they're replaced with the other ones to achieve the fantastically cartoonish facial expressions.
A nice detail here is the options menu that has video options that decrease arbitrarily when you try to increase others. How someone thought this would pass as a finished product is really the ultimate mystery here.
A Crime-Noire, heavy story based Adventure Game where choises matter.
It's actually one of the good games if you ask me since you decide if you're the good cop or the bad one..!
This game is nothing special...
The story is as chliché as it gets.
The comic art looks nice enough. but there is no voice acting and loads of cutscenes/conversations which only stall the pace of the game. Some choices make minor changes to the story, but in the end it's not that special. Also Episode 1 is very short, the rest is DLC (which I won't bother with).
Cannot recommend.

封面是2019年Rival Games庆祝制作组首部作品五周年所做的宣传海报，然而在去年因为疫情和新项目被砍的缘故，工作室宣布倒闭，非常令人遗憾的消息。制作组深受Telltale的作品影响，除了“The Detail”还有之前发过的“Thief of Thieves”都是美漫风格选择取向的剧情游戏，但比Telltale更多添加解谜和推理上的元素，甚至“Thief of Thieves”就是由Skybound Games同名漫画改编并发行的，可谓渊源之深。在经营上举步维艰的时候，甚至还做了一个手机游戏“Alien: Blackout”并获得了2019年IOS年度游戏的殊荣，然而这样有非凡制作能力的制作组却倒在了“最后一公里”上！
本作是制作组首部作品，采用章节发布的方式，陆续共发布了三章，其实这类型要做的话可以无限编下去，本身每章节的故事相对独立，玩家作为侦探去根据线索推断破案，游戏中会有大量的选项供玩家选择，部分关键选择会影响最后的走向（这点和Telltale还是有很大不同），多角色的切换会让人有些抽离角色本身，降低代入感，这点在第二款“Thief of Thieves”就调整了；游戏的故事还是非常精彩和引人入胜，唯一的缺憾就是没有中文，甚至也没有民间汉化，要理解游戏剧情对文本阅读量的要求较高（我都是瞎蒙的），连B站都没有一个相关视频，Steam评论区也是寥寥，我想这也是极大地影响了游戏在国区销量的原因吧！
个人还是希望这些具有鲜明风格特点的制作组能多一些，制作组原本的新作“The Greenhouse Effect”看起来非常不错，增加更多动作要素，可惜，没有发行商的支持也就再也看不到了，游戏早期原型视频

Spannend und sehr viel Atmosphäre. Ein im Comic-Stil gehaltener Film Noir, in dem man selbst mitspielen darf.
Um den Überblick nicht zu verlieren, lohnt es sich, alle 3 Teile in einem Stück durchzuspielen (ich hab mit ein paar Pausen 2 Tage damit verbracht). Immerhin, da passiert recht viel und den meisten Spaß macht es, wenn man die Zusammenhänge im Kopf hat.
Teil 1 ist sicher der Beste.
Teil 2 lässt etwas nach, aber ist trotzdem gut.
Teil 3 beginnt stark und lässt dann stärker nach, aber er ist absolut OK.
Viele Rezensenten kritisieren das Ende. Diese Kritik verstehe ich zwar, aber ich kann sie nicht ganz teilen. Das Ende passt zur Story - das ist schon in Ordnung so.
[b]Tipp:[/b] Auf jeden Fall nach jedem Teil den Abspann komplett ansehen. Danach kommt dann noch eine interessante Auswertung über die eigenen Entscheidungen im Spiel und über dazu passende Polizeistatistiken aus der echten Welt. Interessant!

While this game had to grow on me a bit, it did in fact do just that; had me convinced near the end of the first or start of the second episode. That is, even if this doesn't immediately grab you, hang on a bit. Also note that this game will disappear from the store "shortly" (as of march 2021) due to the developer shutting down so grab the 3 episode bundle while you can.
Though one here. I feel like recommending it, because it's very well drawn and the story is ok. Good for visual novels fans I guess.
However, It is just slow, so slow that it took me two occasions to install it again and progress a little more. And still not done. Gotta read a lot and dump a lot of conversations to go on.

I like the way the game is graphically presented. It looks like a cool comics. There is also an option to have things you can do something with highlighted or not for more classic experience. I love that this game really shows police work and detective work and it shows that the world is not black and white but rather nasty in many different colors. Your decisions matter and will make some people die or survive or be put in prison or not. I finished the game 2 times to see everything. I also loved that after every episode there were a sum up of all your decisions with a info about statics from USA about a certain problem in society.

There are strange frames on the eyes and mouths of characters so when they talk they look like they were cut into parts that were never properly connected. Also the whole game is rather short and worse it was also cut in parts so you need to buy the game and both DLCs to have a complete game. The intro and outro in each episode makes the game longer than it needs to be.
There were 3 times when text become bugged and was unreadable forcing me to restart the game. I also had one game breaking bug that forced me to restart episode 3. Governor animation in 3rd episode in police department looks like she is a small paper doll and there are dots around her when she moves so it looks like game was made fast and not properly tested. Sometimes your hand when you hold a phone does not mach the hand of your hero and I noticed this because I’m sure my old male cop didn’t have pink fingernails when looking for informations in the dead gangster phone. It looks like 3rd episode was rushed.

The game was cut into 3 short episodes and didn’t sell well enough to make developers create part 2 of the story so buy it only as a whole pack of all episodes on sale to make it worth it.

В начале прохождения кажется, что это достаточно увлекательное интерактивное кино в духе игр студии Telltale Games (только в виде комикса, а не трехмерного low-poly дизайна). Но чем дальше - тем хуже. По уровню сюжетных перипетий, драмы, атмосферы игра выдерживает планку базового уровня качества. Все это мы уже видели в огромном количестве художественных произведений, в основном, фильмов, причем с куда большей детализацией мира, прописью характеров персонажей, социальной философией и прочим. Особенно много параллелей возникает с культовым американским сериалом «Прослушка» (не в пользу игры): война банд, продающих наркотики, поиск поставщиков наркотиков, секс-рабство, транспортировка секс-рабынь в США через океан (преимущественно из Восточной Европы), особый новосформированный отдел, занимающийся конкретными сложными делами, требующими особых усилий, коррупция в высших органах управления, бюрократия. Но в The Details ни один элемент сюжета толком не раскрыт, повествование достаточно рваное, скачет то в одну стезю, то в другую, не успевая сконцентрироваться ни на одной.
Игра стилизована под анимированный комикс. Статические арты и анимации простые, мало детализированные, порой грубые, словно скетчи, наброски. Визуальная часть весьма приятна. К тому же все персонажи полностью озвучены, что помогает игре создавать тяжелую, депрессивную нуарную атмосферу.
В игре множество выборов, которые влияют пусть и не на ход целого сюжета, но на конкретные сцены; в принципе, стандарт практически любой игровой интерактивности. Также присутствует несколько QTE-событий: слишком внезапных, не дающих времени на осознание, что это не очередной слайд, который нужно просто переключить кликом левой кнопки мыши.
The detail is a PnC game telling a noir detective story using a graphic novel art style.
I found the art phenomenal. The inverted black & white scenes worked perfectly to convey the grim atmosphere of the game.
While playing, we are offered many choices that affect the story progression and which ending we will get.
About the plot, I thought it had some holes and I really did not like the ending I got. The last part of the game felt rushed and I did not understand why the devs decided at the last minute to introduce some fact that seemed to be coming out of nowhere [spoiler] as we just watch our main detective suddenly turn into someone else[/spoiler]. That was strange. A fourth chapter explaining more in details the plot turnaround would have been most welcomed.
Also, even if this first opus gives some closure to the current story, it leaves some unresolved facts that were clearly planned to be explored in the next season. Sadly, the dev studio shut down last year, so we won't see a next opus in the series.
In all, I can definitely recommend this game just for its amazing art style even if it has a meh ending. The devs announced last year that it will be removed from the Steam store in the future, so if you are interested in this game, you should get it now.

1. Отсутствие сохранений. Хочешь другое развитие событий, после принятого решения, проходи игру с самого начала.
2. Проблема с картинкой. Объекты наползают друг на друга, плохо представлен курсор, который вечно теряется, скудные движения персонажей, отсутствие эмоций, необходимых для погружения в происходящее.
3. Отсутствие озвучки.
В целом играть можно, но если сравнивать с крутыми играми, как: The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Deponia, Syberia и другие, то рядом она не стоит.

an engaging story involving the darker side of the police. i picked this up for 50 cents an episode. my best deal of 2021 so far
Bought The Detail on Steam and have been playing it repeatedly about 3 times already.
Excellent story especially seeing it through all the character's eyes and a really clever twist in the end.
Just disappointed that there wasn't an episode 4 where the corrupt mayor of the G.R.A.ND. project faces justice for all her crimes. Also would have liked an option to spare Reggie and mend his rift with Miller and Tyrone.
All in all a good game.
The ending left me slightly confused... I was expecting a complete story. The picture in the library says 'season one'. Ofcourse when viewing the store you can easily establish that this game is divided in three episodes, but I dug this up from my library. Anyway no big deal, the episodes are all for Steams bottom price. I just don't understand why a finished episodically released game is still offered episodic.

The trailers are pretty accurate, this is a Visual Novel in comic-style. And that works really well!!! A small element of Point & Click to allow a bit of exploring as detective, but this element is tiny thankfully.

The story follows two individuals, one of them a detective, the other an informant of said detective. They swap after every scene. There are roughly two paths of decisions, one 'good' and one 'bad'.
Like mentioned, I was surprised the episode concluded the way it does. Nothing gets solved, and it ends with a major cliffhanger. I am gonna play the others maybe someday, but right now the backlog of games to play is way too big.

A police adventure game. The first of the three episodes is short and dull but ends on a promising note that makes you believe the future episodes would get more interesting. Unfortunately, the developer clearly had budget problems and had to cut a lot of content leading to three episode "season" with each episode lasting about an hour and frequent switching between multiple characters means you never really learn or care about anyone. The choices you make never really matter and you don't see the repercussions of them, characters frequently say generic 80s-90s cop show lines or offensive lines like telling every other character they arrest that they will be raped in prison, they advertise having to make difficult ethical and moral choices but all that really means is do you want to ruin your own case by breaking into minor unimportant character's homes or hitting them, causing you to damage or ruin your case (not that it matters). The final episode has bugs that can make you replay sections and clearly had to be rushed out.

První sezóna "Telltale like" hry The Detail obsahuje celkem tři epizody. Dokončení každé z nich trvá bezmála hodinu. Hra nabízí především ponurou atmosféru a kvalitně kreslené komiksy. Imitace Telltale však není úplně povedená, dle mého názoru nabízí hra příliš málo důležitých rozhodnutí. Plusem je alespoň to, že se rozhodnutí projevují napříč epizodami. Příběh je dost přímočarý, ale vcelku dobře napsaný. Konec je dostačující a také trochu otevřený - asi pro případ, že by se snad někdy měla objevit druhá sezóna.

So, I had this game for a few years and I finally played through Episode's 1-3 and overall, it was a roller coaster. Started off slightly slow but then it got INTENSE. I winced at certain scenes, even teared up for certain criminals, and I was just on edge. I kept wanting to know what happens next. Then Episode 3 happened... and it was just getting good.. then it just ended. Main bad guy dies, main good guy dies, episode ends, some sappy few second clips of the people who survived and where they are now and a corny ending depending I guess on what you choose.
Episode 1-2 - GREAT!
Episode 3 - Clearly rushed, ran out of ideas or resources, ended abruptly, no clarity! ALSO, it was the only episode out of the 3 that glitched out in the end. The chat bubbles blurred out and I thought it was intentional until I realized it wasn't.. and I closed out of the game, opened it and it fixed itself.. Since it autosaves, I missed a bit at the end and just continued. That was REALLY irritating.
I'll still recommend it because the art is incredible, the story DOES keep you on edge for a good while and I still enjoyed it.
If you're into episodic, narrative based games where the choices are left up to you, then you'll enjoy this game. It doesn't shy away from gore and other adult themes that other games of this nature may.
I like the interactive comic book style. It's only 2.99 for a nice story and only 5 bucks for both episodes. It's worth it.
The studio's first game and it shows:
- No UI sfx, no ambience, no sound at all, only music.
- Story is weak with no character arcs and confusing perspective shifts
- Graphical bugs like a character being rendered over another character when they were supposed to be below
The studio has closed down and this game will be removed from sale soon, so there isn't much point in getting this anymore.

This game is short, confusing, and feels unfinished. While I did like the main character a bit and the struggle of trying to keep on top of the case and figure out whats going on. Its becomes less of a game and more of an interactive story. Which would be fine if the story felt conclusive, its introduces dozens of elements to it, a dead partner, a dark past, relationships, secrets among a whole host of things. By the end of the 2nd episode I was hoping to see some conclusion but got nothing. Just people wrapping up a loose story that ends on a dull note. If you dont like the art style, music, characters or anything in the first part. Save yourself 4 hours, it doesn't go anywhere.
