I absolutely love the atmosphere and music in this game.
The skill points + the way you have to think of how you interact with the characters and the info you find is all really fun.
I'm enjoying the investigations although some of the puzzles can be frustrating (I ended up just looking up the answers).
Not sure about the story yet since I haven't completed the game yet and don't know where it's going but it's intriguing so far.
There's definitely replayability potential to see what the other choices would lead to.

Cela dit il y a une tres bonne maitrise du suspens (qui ne m'a pas suspensé jusqu'au bout malheureusement) et un gameplay suffisamment simple pour ne pas noyer l'aspect principal du jeu qui reste son histoire.
Si t'as toujours voulu te prendre pour "je sais pas qui", à juger les gens, alors c'est fait pour toi.

Alright so this game.... I am barely giving it a thumbs up.

It starts off REALLY strong. Lots of mystery. Lots of intrigue. Its got some really nice visuals that I adored. LOVE the dinning hall that opens right to the sky.

But here's the thing. The pacing is very, very slow. So do be warned of that. The action is about what skills you've mastered (ex: Logic, Diversion, etc.) so that you can win conversations to get the information you need or to coerce the person you're speaking to the right way. I didn't mind this. I thought it was fun. I loved the idea of everyone coming together for what was essentially a pre-bohemian grove, G-20 summit meeting.

But.... it screws up a lot of historical fact and ends up mocking Jesus Christ. So if you're a Christian, be warned of that. You'll have to take the game for what it is. An evil game with an evil message that misuses historical facts about the crusades and makes a joke of Christ - yet, still game that without intending to, exposes the very evil that governs much of the world today. The evil that degrades our institutions and corrupts our morality and sovereignty and strength. I can't really say much more without given some core spoilers..... so.... Suffice it to say its pretty accurate about the people who govern the world today, even though its coming from a skewed lens.

Another huge turn off, the game boasts about being DEI and made from a mishmosh of different cultures, races and gender ideologies. Well, that discoherency shows in the way the game starts strong but has no overall cohesive climax or story. You get about half way through and see the story struggles to hold ground and it is incredibly anti-climactic. Lackluster. Boring. Underwhelming.

But the premise and set up is good, I can't help but think of what this game COULD have been, and so my daydreams while snoring through the latter half of it allowed me the mental gymnastics to appreaciate what it COULD HAVE been, had a cohesive and like minded team been working on it rather than individuals who were all out of sync with each other and clearly pushing their own ideologies.

Also the music. Like... it was good music but its like the same two songs the ENTIRE game and that was a little grating. So... Yeah! If you can view the game as yourself visiting a toxic AF G-20 global elite meeting, you might get some enjoyment from it.

für meinen Geschmack etwas zu wild - aber gut erzählt. Den Grafikstil, die vielen Entscheidungen, Wortgefechte, Interessen, Irrungen und Wirrungen fand ich gut. Sehr gut gefallen haben mir auch die vielen Gemälde, die im Game untergebracht wurden. Die historischen Begebenheiten, die nebenbei erzählt werden, haben das Game auch bereichert. Musik und Sound sind nicht wirklich erwähnenswert, da sie sich durch alle Episoden hindurch wiederholen. Wirklich ermüdend wurde mit der Zeit, dass man sich in dem Spiel die Füße wund läuft, und wieder und wieder durch das gesamte Anwesen geschickt wird. Das Game ist in mancher Hinsicht wirklich grandios, hat aber in anderen Bereichen auch so große Schwächen, dass ich es nur eingeschränkt empfehlen würde, für Liebhaber des Genres.

Как кино с действиями смотрится неплохо, жаль что действия твои мало что меняют. Игра не без проблем с запуском и настройкой (потому что их нет, GA-GA-GA!).
Очень жаль что подобных игр такого жанра мало связанные с мистикой, опять придется играть в игры связанные с Ктулху и прочими Лавкрафтианскими историями (а многие новеллы абсурдны местами)

J'ai 61 ans et personnellement je suis enthousiasmé par ce Jeu.
Jamais je n'ai joué à un jeu aussi intelligent cultivé qui nous apprends tant de choses et nous révèle à nous même.
L'intrigue est richissime. Le gameplay facile à prendre en main et ne bloque jamais notre progression. Graphiquement top.
Bref après avoir découvert le chapitre 1 gratuitement je me suis jeté sur la suite que je vais courir découvrir après cette évaluation.
20/20 à la merveilleuse équipe française de Great Bad Wolf que je vais suivre de prêt.

Первые два эпизода играбельны. Есть вариативность, много диалогов, реальные исторические персонажи и отсылки. Смесь мистики, политоты и детектива.

После второго эпизода начинается душный симулятор ходьбы. Геймплей скатывается в бесконечное туда-обратно по коридорам в поисках ключевых предметов. Почти нет развилок - просто блуждание по линейному маршруту. Сюжет целиком скатывается в мистику.

С оптимизацией беда.

Ein definitiv mal etwas anderes Spiel. Wer auf Rätsel und Amtosphäre zusammen mit tiefgründigen Gesprächen steht, für den ist das Spiel auf jeden Fall etwas. Das Spiel lebt von seiner Geschichte, weshalb ich nicht vorweggreifen möchte. Mir persönlich hat die erste Hälfe des Spiels gut gefallen, bevor es dann meiner Meinung nach etwas zu verrückt wurde, aber das darf jeder selbst entscheiden. Im Kern ist das Spiel in verschiedene Kapitel und Sequenzen aufgeteilt. Sehr hübsch gemacht ist, dass das Spiel dich zu entscheidungen zwingt. An bestimmten Stellen gibt es die Option entweder für Weg A oder Weg B und je nach Auswahl verändert sich der Spielverlauf im Mid-Game. Viele Plot Twists und unerwartete Geschichtsänderungen machen das Spiel spannend. Etwas schade fand ich, dass am Ende einer Sequenz eine zusammenfassung des erreichten stattfindet und man dort ggf. auch sieht, dass bestimmte optionen nicht erreicht wurden, von denen man nicht einmal wusste, dass sie in dieser Sequenz zu finden waren. Das tut dem Spiel aber in seiner Atmosphäre keinen Abbruch. Auf jeden Fall ein hübsches Story spiel. Sollte es mal im Sale sein, gibt es eine Klare Kaufempfehlung. Wie gesagt, Erwartet aber bitte keinen Actionshooter o.ä., das spiel baut eher auf Rätsel und überlegungen sowie eigenen Schlussfolgerungen und persönliche Entscheidungsfreudigkeit :)

Отличная игра с историческим уклоном и реальными историческими персонажами. Прекрасный антураж в Викторианском стиле. Сюжет тоже очень интересный с множеством ответвлений и концовок. В общем рекомендую 9,5/10. -0,5 за невозможность изменить решение, ибо авто-сохранения слишком часто, а ручного сохранения нет, либо - если не лень, перепройти главу заново, но и это никак не портит впечатления.

A wonderful, story driven, narrative, roleplaying, adventure, where your decisions do truly matter. The story keeps you engaged right from the start, all the way until you finish. Characters both fictional and historical, all have their own unique personality in which they remember exactly what you tell them. It has a insane twist all while (scarily?) working in today's age regardless of being based in a 1793 secret society. It combines narrative story telling with RPG elements (traits, skill points, checks, conversation battles, etc) allowing for multiple playstyles. Puzzles start simple and get harder as times goes on. The attention to detail is phenomenal, especially within the prologue as you immediately decide your fate for that playthrough.

The audio overall is great, however the voice acting (while mostly fine) can sometimes be confusing and extremely bleh. Traversing the world can also be confusing as the map isn't helpful most of the time (UI is very clean tho). While the puzzles gradually get harder overtime, they also randomly spike in difficulty with very obscure hints (bible puzzle made me atheist). The final episodes story can feel a bit rushed (depending how you play it) and leave a lot of unanswered questions. The game is also quite janky in its animations, lighting, and clipping issues, all of which could use some work but could be thrown under its age as a excuse.

Achievement hunting requires a second playthrough doing most of the choices/consequences you missed the first time, however you can choose the episodes to play in any order allowing for many quick achievements. The hardest achievement is apparently using exactly one consumable of each type during a "quest" (Starter, main dish and coffee) but I was the hardest joining Emily in my room (Forbidden fruit).

BUT would I recommend it? well... Yes, but I'd recommend on sale. Overall the game is amazing, can be eye opening in ways, and you might learn something if you can get past the ending(s) without over analyzing everything. The flaws are quite minor and if you go in not expecting much it even adds to the experience.

На самом деле еще одна прекрасная игра в которую стоит поиграть, если вам нравится стори тейлы, Самое классное в том, что оригиниальная озвучка передает реальный акцент представителей тех стран из которых сами персонажи: сможете отличить Итальяна по акценту из Ватикана, француза, даже перса, классический британский от британского аналогично, Этой игре и не нужна озвучка на ру, так как она уникальна деталями. Отличная историческая значимость и описание, вчитываясь в контекст - вы порадуете себя деталями искусства. Рекомендую

Сюжет - Начало достаточное интересное, но все ломается, когда убийство посреди вечеринки, теперь никому не нужно... И теперь убийства на острове, это обычное дело и все нпс как под наркотиками. Оказывается им вправили мозги и ты теперь такая же херобора и попал в перепалку демонов. Очень плохо знать что существет "Достать ножи" и делать такое...
К остальным минусам:
Бег - постоянно бегаешь через зажатый курок( а бегать здесь далеко и медленно)
Частые загадки связанные с библией, текстами(типо аутентично, но на сама деле очень скучно постоянно слушать библейские строки и копаться в куче букв)
Скипать текст нельзя, даже если прослушал 2-больше раз
Нет хоть какой-то оптимизации, пришлось лезть в драйвер и настраивать в ручную
Неудобное управление, чтоб камера медленно вращалась сзади, причем очень близко к персонажу,
Фов не изменяется

В грі маємо три дерева навичок, яке кожне по своєму відкриває історію, а також розвиток заснований на серії твоїх виборів. Сюжет короткий, що дозволяє пройти його бодай два рази і не знудитись за цей час, але не більше.

Спробувати варто, проте надіятись на щось унікальне — ні.

3/5。类似于互动电影的选择取向剧情游戏，很多判定，很多加点，还可以选不同职业并对后续对话造成影响。游戏节奏太慢了，而且我还晕3d每次跑来跑去找东西解谜都好想吐，过剧情既不能跳过对话，角色语速又奇慢无比，所以后面我直接云完了剧情。故事从最初的政治悬疑元素逐渐转换到神秘主义，略显无聊。
男主中透露出一股淡淡的爹味，尤其是和女角色相处的时候就非常非常典，所有适龄女角色都对男主投怀送抱。感觉主角他妈真的是好传奇的老太太。
貌似是有汉化补丁的但我下载补丁的时候一直提示有病毒所以最后也没用那个补丁。

What an interesting experience to play through. I enjoyed it for the most part, but there were also some things that were.... just odd to me. Not out right bad, but weird for sure. I'll start with the things I did liked about The Council first, and then I'll get into the bits that I wasn't too keen on.

The game does a very good job of building up mistery and intrigue. Dealing with secretive society on a remote island makes for an interesting premise. One holding a bunch of potential. Especially through out the first half of the adventure. That's where this treasure trove was realised so beautifully. If only that same good streak was able to be present until the end. Because as The Council moves into the second half of the story, it's starts to go downhill a little.

RPG elements were also another aspect of the game which I realy liked. They were handled quite nicely. Mostly focused on the character traits of our main protagonist: Louis and of people around him. Each person you come across has their own slate of strengths and weaknesses for Louis to discover. The main man himself also gets more traits the more you progress in the game based on your play style.This whole approach strangely suits this type of game. The darker themes paired with this slight psychological flare adds to the game's charm.

Brief mention goes to the game's puzzles as well. They were another side of gameplay I enjoyed. The riddles in The Council are very well thought out. Some clear effort was put into them and I found myself taking notes and then referring back to those notes to find the correct solution. Solving puzzles felt mostly rewarding.

Now for the stuff that I wasn't fully on board with. The biggest one for me is that already mentioned second half of the game. Now, I know The Council is ment to be most likely taken as a caricature, or as kitch-like experience. But the game goes from solid choice based adventure, to something that has lost almost all control of the direction in which the whole thing is trying to go. The rusult of that sudden snap feels a tad odd... Nonsensical even. I enjoyed the game non the less. Although the shift was realy jarring. Instead of keeping focus on Louise's initial goal, The Council then throws any and every kind of hurdle possible. Which removes most of the mystery flavour the game was building up. And depending on what kind of player you are, that shift from fairly solid to outright laughable could make you stop playing.

But despite that questionable story flip, I enjoyed my time playing The Council. This is a recommendation for those of you into hystory, detective work or some darker themes. It is a game with rough spots in places, but still a very good experience.

I'm not sure entirely how to feel about this game. I'm recommending it, because it deserves something better than "Mostly positive." It's inventive and challenging, your choices do in fact matter and there's a FASCINATING level of detail, historical and otherwise, to everything going on.

But it is really weird. Everybody looks twisted and ugly, with the exception of the obvious love interest character (don't get me started on HER). The first four or five episodes are solid and then just an implausible level of plot twists start dropping that make everything really bizarre. I really think they ought to have restrained themselves a little bit more with this one.

Крайне не рекомендую, потому что сначала это может показаться интересным, но потом вы будете просто тянуть эту унылую и убогую лямочку с непропускаемой муторной болтовней (я в состоянии прочитать реплику прежде, чем герой начнет произносить второе слово - не надо заставлять меня слушать весь этот кал), небольшими катсценами для растягивания времени, беготней туда-сюда, убогим кольцом выбора в диалогах аля масс ефект. Видно, что они постарались в первом сезоне и свели многие эти аспекты к минимум, а потом уже забили болт.

ГГ деревянный по пояс, он ни на что толком не реагирует, у него слишком ного его характера и слишком мало возможностей на этот характер как-то повлиять, поэтому ты вынужден играть за дегенерата. Система прокачки тож потешно убога - если ты сразу очки не вкинул в окультизм, то не можешь даже надпись на латыни в начале игры прочитать, хотя тебе уже 30 лет готовят стать главой секретного ордена, лол.

Ну и куча мелких багов виде Т-поз, возникающих трупов там, где их не должно быть + огрехи интерфейса, который просто не стали дорабатывать под нужды новых глав + убого натянутые текстурки, например в библиотеке. Я бы мож и не обратил на них внимаение, но тут у многих какой-то эстетический экстаз. У вас и от собаки экстаз, как говорится.

Несмотря на критику со стороны части игроков последних двух эпизодов, я с удовольствием прошёл игру от начала от конца. И традиционно разделил бы её на плюсы и минусы.
Плюсы:
Детальность особняка. Каждая комната, коридор, интерьер в целом - всё проработано с высочайшим качеством и создаётся отличное впечатление от изящества места, в котором мы пребываем.
Саундтрек. Ничего невероятного, но всё же показался максимально подходящим в тему интриг и тайн элит общества, должным образом поддерживает атмосферу.
Сюжет. С одной стороны, игра действительно начинается как остросюжетный политический сериал, а затем внезапно удивляет (кого-то в плохую, а кого-то, как меня, в лучшую сторону) своим твистом о происхождении части персонажей игры.
Вариативность действий. Игру можно пройти по АБСОЛЮТНО разным сценариям, каждое ваше действие действительно имеет значение, в том числе то, во что вы вкачали характеристики персонажа. И невероятно круто наблюдать за развитием событий лишь потому что вы так распорядились судьбой главного героя.

Но разумеется не обошлось и без минусов:
Графика. Несмотря на упомянутое изящество интерьера, в игре довольно странные проблемы с рендером, среди которых отсутствие привычного нам всем сглаживания, видеть лесенки и другие косяки на сверкающих роскошью краях локаций как-то уж нелепо и грустно, а также несмотря даже на 200+ фпс очень дёрганную и странную картинку, словно это не высокая частота, а лок на 30 кадров. И никакие настройки как игры, так и панели Nvidia, мне не помогли
Диалоги. Некоторые из них на самом деле являются незаурядными филлерами, направленными на растяжение прохождения всей главы. Однако для РПГ жанра это является преимущественно нормой.
Головоломки. Некоторые из них потрясающи и их решение вызывало у меня восторг, другие же - слишком мудрены и совершенно не интуитивны даже после долгого изучения, подсказки к некоторым приходилось смотреть в интернете. Но жаловаться на головоломки - спорная затея, потому тоже не следует сильно принимать к вниманию.

В итоге мы имеем очень достойное интерактивное кино с элементами головоломки и рпг составляющей с моей субъективной оценкой в 4\5, которое достаточно эффективно тратит каждый потраченный час вашего времени на её прохождение, и я крайне рекомендую попробовать хотя бы первый эпизод (благо он бесплатный) чтобы осознать понравится ли вам это. Да и зачастую на распродаже полный сезон игры стоит несчастные доллар - два, потому тут и к цене не придерёшься - стоит каждый свой доллар\рубль\евро\гривну\теньге...

Настоящий hidden gem.

Вроде очередная, особо ничем не примечательная инди-игра, запуская которую - особо ничего от неё и не ждёшь. Но о чудо, получаешь безумно атмосферное приключение. Однозначно рекомендую всем, кто любит камерные пространства. Ходить всю игру по одному огромному особняку, постепенно открывая всё новые и новые его части, и маршруты. Да ещё и всё это в роскошных, детально проработанных интерьерах, и тёплых тонах освещения от свеч... ВАУ. Не так уж и много игр в таком сеттинге. Так и не вспомню больше.

Но и одним визуалом тут дело не ограничивается. В игре интригующий сюжет, РЕАЛЬНЫЕ последствия от выборов, и хорошие головоломки. И что немало важно, в игру комфортно играть, ведь не смотря на присутствие мистики - она совершенно не пытается тебя напугать или нагнать жути. Ты просто... расслабившись гуляешь, наслаждаясь окружением и атмосферой, попутно решая головоломки, и расследуя сюжет.

Единственное, под конец игра ушла куда-то уж совсем не туда. А сделав ещё и не самые удачные выборы - вообще теряется всякий смысл её заканчивать, и лучше уж новую игру начать. В общем, советую делать бэкап сейвов ближе к концу.

The writing goes downhill come Chapter 4. What was supposed to be a story about political intrigue, statecraft, personal choice and its implication on the fate of the entire world, turned out to be irrelevant. Characters are mostly boring, flat and don't matter at all. And the most boring and inconsequential of them all is the MC.
The poor writing epidemic had started way before everyone began talking about it. The writers didn't forget to cram some of the virtue-signalling twitter-coded s l o p into some of the characters' lines, but cohesion and internal integrity of the plot clearly escaped their attention. I guess it's more important to have a one up against a fictional character in a staged in-game political debate (one that affects neither the story nor character development), than to write a solid, time-accurate and internally logical narrative. This is the kind of outcome the disciples of “critical literacy” are now proud to showcase.

The Council работает по другим правилам: здесь самым опасным оружием становится не клинок или пистолет, а вовремя сказанное слово. Разработчики взяли более-менее классический каркас ролевой системы и перенесли его в пространство светских бесед и политических интриг конца XVIII века: вместо того чтобы качать «Силу» или «Ловкость», вы вкладываетесь в «Этикет», «Психологию» или «Оккультизм».

Но дело не ограничивается необычным набором навыков. Вы постоянно вступаете в конфликты, и хотя оружие в ход практически никогда не идет, это не просто прокликивание древа диалогов, а полноценная дуэль. У каждого собеседника, от Наполеона до Джорджа Вашингтона, есть психологические уязвимости и иммунитеты. Чтобы защитить свою позицию, нужно хорошо знать противника — и понимать, когда на него надавить. Это создает редкое ощущение интеллектуального превосходства, когда выигрываешь спор не потому, что скрипт так написан, а потому, что правильно разыграл имеющиеся карты. Более того, последствия ваших выборов тоже серьезно влияют на происходящее: конечно, это не уровень первого «Ведьмака», где было полторы игры по цене одной, но вариативность вполне реальна.

Кроме того, игра — праздник узнавания, если вы интересуетесь культурой эпохи Возрождения. Протагонист комментирует картины и книги, которые встречаются на каждом шагу, и подавляющее большинство из них действительно было создано примерно в ту же эпоху, когда происходит действие игры. При этом большинство загадок, задействующих произведения искусства, либо не требует от вас знания контекста, либо позволяет получить необходимую информацию благодаря своим навыкам. Какой-то особенной эрудиции от вас никто не ждет.

Отдельного упоминания заслуживает смелость игры в работе с последствиями. Пожалуй, это самый спорный момент геймдизайна The Council в целом. Геймдизайнеры создали жесткую связку из неочевидных загадок и несоразмерно высокой цены за ошибку. Логика некоторых пазлов может быть туманной, и решить их сходу даже с учетом системы подсказок бывает сложно. Но вместо того чтобы просто не открыть сундук, герой рискует получить перманентное увечье. Потерять руку в середине прохождения из-за неверной интерпретации картины — ситуация, которая легко может вызвать фрустрацию и желание бросить игру или в следующий раз полезть в интернет за правильным ответом. Когда страх необратимого наказания становится сильнее любопытства исследователя, магия погружения ломается. Финальная загадка, влияющая на концовку, тоже очень неинтуитивна.

Сюжет тоже не слишком ровный. Примерно после двух третей игры он делает неожиданный поворот, который может вам категорически не понравиться (может, впрочем, быть и наоборот). Это открывает набор новых геймплейных возможностей, но с точки зрения погружения... скажем так, решение неоднозначное.

Кроме того, игра неидеальна технически. Лицевая анимация выглядит ОЧЕНЬ дешево — условно говоря, в более старой Mafia II она была выше на три головы. При этом на слабых машинах из игры придется с трудом выжимать даже стабильные 30 fps. Впрочем, критических багов я не заметил. Кроме того, русская локализация — выше всяких похвал, хотя диалоги, к сожалению, не дублированы и переведены субтитрами.

И все же, даже с учетом бюджетности и порой чрезмерной жестокости к игроку, The Council заслуживает высокой оценки. Она дает опыт умной РПГ-адвенчуры, которого катастрофически не хватает среди видеоигр. Сюжетная интрига, эстетика эпохи и реальная вариативность перевешивают недостатки. Игра цепляет своей самобытностью настолько сильно, что ей хочется простить даже моменты, вызывающие откровенное раздражение. В каком-то роде это Disco Elysium для эстетов — и это вполне неплохо.

In most games, RPGs included, we’re accustomed to letting our weapons do the talking. The Council plays by a different set of rules: here, the deadliest weapon isn’t a blade or a pistol, but a well-timed word. The developers have taken a traditional RPG framework and transposed it onto the social circles and political intrigues of the late 18th century. Instead of dumping points into Strength or Agility, you’re investing in Etiquette, Psychology, or Occultism.

It’s more than just a novel skill tree, though. Every interaction is a confrontation. While physical violence is almost never an option, these aren't just dialogue trees—they are full-blown duels. Every character, from Napoleon to George Washington, has specific psychological vulnerabilities and immunities. To hold your ground, you need to know your opponent — and know exactly when to apply pressure. It creates a rare sense of intellectual triumph; you win an argument not because a script told you to, but because you played your cards right. The consequences are tangible, too. While it might not reach The Witcher levels of branching paths, the reactivity and variance are very real.

For those with an interest in history and the arts, the game is a constant feast of recognition. The protagonist frequently comments on the paintings and books scattered throughout the environment, the vast majority of which are historically accurate to the period. Crucially, the art-based puzzles don't require you to be a walking encyclopedia; your character's skills usually provide the necessary context. The game doesn't expect you to be a scholar to progress.

However, we have to talk about the game’s uncompromising approach to consequences. This is arguably the most divisive aspect of The Council’s design. There is a harsh link between cryptic puzzles and a disproportionately high price for failure. Some puzzles are quite abstract, and even with the hint system, the logic can be fuzzy. But instead of simply failing to open a chest, your character might suffer a permanent physical injury. Losing a limb halfway through the game because you misinterpreted a painting is the kind of thing that leads to immediate frustration and the urge to look up a walkthrough. When the fear of permanent punishment outweighs the joy of discovery, the immersion breaks. The final puzzle, which dictates the ending, is also particularly unintuitive.

The narrative is a bit of a mixed bag as well. About two-thirds of the way through, the story takes a sharp turn that will likely polarize players. It opens up new gameplay possibilities, but from a narrative standpoint... let's just say it’s a controversial choice.

Technically, the game shows its budget. Facial animations look severely dated — honestly, Mafia II was leagues ahead in this department almost a decade earlier. Performance can also be an issue; you’ll have to fight to squeeze a stable 30 fps out of older hardware. That said, I didn't encounter any game-breaking bugs.

Despite its technical rough edges and occasionally punishing design, The Council is a remarkable achievement. It offers the kind of intellectual RPG-adventure experience that is tragically rare today. The political intrigue, the period aesthetic, and the genuine player agency far outweigh its flaws. It is so unique and captivating that you’ll find yourself forgiving its most frustrating moments. In a way, it’s Disco Elysium for the high-society set — and that’s a very good thing.

I must say that I stopped playing in the middle of chapter 4. I see that maybe I don't have enough info to post a review at this stage but to be honest - I really lost interest in playing the game and upon spoiling myself online about what's to come I'm very positive I've made the right choice.
Overall the game has a nice make-up and in the beginning the story sounds very promising. But I quickly found the game very tedious as most of the time it just seems to be a courier simulator. The manor is big, there are no fast travelling options. Replaying episodes when you've made a choice you regret deeply is very annoying as there is no option to skip dialogue. The game design is kind of weird - the effort points seem too much like energy points in mobile games. And even if you spend your effort points because you feel like it matters, you will find that it doesn't really, because you can have a successful conversation without them. Or it really does when you're in the middle of a riddle and the key to it all is hidden somewhere behind your effort points. It's really random and the whole system is badly designed and unsatisfactory.
What's most annoying is the story. In the beginning you find that you have all those people staying with you on the island, some of them historical, prominent figures of the political world. I was very excited as to what the story had in store for me but it turned out to be painfully unpolitical because the game is about the occult - not about politics. The game would have been the exact same with original characters and it all felt very forced and "just because". In the conference you have a choice to make between imperialism and well, imperialism. You do get a chance to carefully state that indigenous people aren't savages and oh, maybe slavery isn't cool, but when you do say it, you naturally get slammed by everybody in the room and whether you do or don't say it doesn't actually matter because in the end it just matters what choice you make regarding Lord Mortimers plan. It all feels like the game was made by somebody who kinda likes history but has no real opinion on it. Don't touch subjects like that if you're not going to handle them with care!
It was impossible to play Louis in a way that felt like it mattered or in a way that touched me personally because I had the feeling of doing the right thing even though the characters around me contradicted me. None of that. Louis felt like a person without any character with no clue what's going on, no opinion and the whole thing felt like nothing mattered because in the end it was all about that big plot twist I honestly didn't need.

Очень недурная адвенчура с нелинейным сюжетом. Загадки действительно заставляют поломать голову, хоть их и не много. Графика вполне сносная, а вот анимация оставляет желать лучшего. В общем игра на уровне очень хорошего инди проекта. Интересно было бы увидеть продолжение.

Great concepts with a bit of messy execution.

The core gameplay is pretty neat. It is based on character build with various skills that can be used in conversions to either exploit the vulnerabilities of other characters, face their immunities or get hints when solving puzzles.

The setting is very compelling, and the story is well written up until episode 5 where it takes a massive dive (out of rushed development I assume). Maybe the specific path I followed lead to that massively disappointing ending. I have to replay it and make some different choices.

Another frustrating issue is the poor performance even in high end systems. However, the FPS can be unlocked by tinkering with the settings from the NVidia control panel (set vsync to fast). After that I got constant 140 FPS.

Die ersten Chapter machen süchtig und waren eine 10/10, bis sich in der Mitte der Geschichte die Story unerwartet wandelt. Auch werden die Rätsel zu schwer und die Laufwege samt Sammelei zu zehrend.
Sehr beeindruckt haben mich die Gesichter mit all ihren Details!
Synchro gefällt, es stört nicht, dass es Englisch ist (und dazu die gute französische Aussprache).

Very interesting concept with the confrontations. However, the thorn effect skewed the mode.
The quests were well designed. They forced the player to think and was out of the box.
The choices actually impacted the plot. Not like in other games when our choices makes no difference.
The story was well crafted by 4-th episode. Then, I don't understand going into demons and super natural environment. It destroyed the experience and plot started to get more blur. Nonetheless, I'd recommend the game. That's the shame, that the final hours were stupid and hard to grasp.

Система «талантов» (Дипломат, Оккультист, Детектив) и связанных с ними активных способностей — это сердце игры. Каждый из диалогов превращается в напряженный поединок, где нужно изучать слабости собеседника, тратить очки влияния и применять особые умения, чтобы выведать секреты, противостоять манипуляциям или избегать ловушек. Это придает диалогам невиданную глубину и игровую ценность.
Ещё бы я хотела выделить в этой игре значимость выбора, ибо те же самые ошибки в выборе имеют последствия: можно навсегда испортить отношения с персонажем, упустить важную информацию для продвижения дела, или же даже погибнуть....

вырубил сие поделие после первых диалогов с какой-то титькастой шкуркой и служителем б-жим а-ля кОрденалом, я хз. это просто кринге во всех смыслах.

Good only if on sale and you can play it through in one sitting uninterrupted. I kept experiencing save desync issues when fully exiting the game (sleep/work/etc), and not matter what I tried it never got fixed. After a while I gave up because I'm not going to replay everything to get caught up. Just going to watch someone's gameplay you youtube and call it a day. Been a month an 10 hours plus at $1.49 even if I was within refund window it'd be pointless to argue. Again, if you start it, set aside a good chunk of time don't exit the game or let your PC go to sleep or lose connection.

The Council - это не интерактивное кино, это настоящая история, где каждый выбор имеет последствие.
В этом "спектакле", где сильные мира сего (как реальные исторические личности, так и выдуманные) собираются в "совет" в загадочном особняке на краю географии, чтобы вершить судьбы этого мира.
За кулисами - политические интриги, заговоры, предательства, между которыми придется лавировать, чтобы разгадать одну большую тайну, которая привела нас сюда.

Первые 3 эпизода - увлекательная детективная история, все идет ровно и интересно наблюдать за происходящим, но тут происходит "поворот" в 4 эпизоде.... из-за которого 4 и 5 эпизоды меняют жанр и превращаются в "фанфик" с сомнительным содержимым, который, тем не менее, стоит пройти до конца.

Pre-100%ing. since I have to play it again for achievement reasons.

maybe itll be changed after I get an ending that isnt literally THE WORST one you can get. whoopsies!!! who knows! but as of now and just over 14 hours and one completed playthrough i have some. thoughts

im thumbs downing for NOW but because my feelings on it are so complicated that is incredibly subject to change

Um. Okay. So like. it wasnt the worst thing ever in world. but it wasnt particularly GOOD either.

you cant skip scenes which is like a mild annoyance at first when you accidently click on the same thing again like I do, but then it becomes a ginormous annoyance if you like to 100% games and get all achievements. you have to play the game 2 and a bit times through to get all achievements. if you didnt particularly love the game, that makes having to play it again without being able to skip anything a very big negative. I started to work on another run to get my other achievements and then decided I dont feel like doing that to myself currently. the inability to skip really is one of the biggest issues for me at this stage

the voice acting wasnt really good a lot of the time but majority of the time of it being bad it was bad in an entertaining way for me. it also had fine VA moments obviously

ironically the final episode is the only one (aside from the first one) that I solved all the puzzles myself without help of a guide. the bible related puzzles were awful!
why were they so awful? let me remind you of the inability to skip!

picture that you have to listen to a million different bible verses and stuff to solve a puzzle. now picture you dont know ♥♥♥♥ diddly about the bible and you dont have anything memorised so you have to take a look at them again to try and make the pieces fit. you cant just give a quick glance to see what RuPaul 6:9 was as a quick refresher while you work through it. you have to listen to it all again. I did not solve these puzzles myself. they were tedious and unfun for me so I looked up the answers. like im not a particularly smart person in my opinion, im not superb at puzzles or anything, but I can typically figure stuff out eventually by going back and forth between pieces - but going back and forth to figure things out is just so annoying in this one since you cant skip things and putting in the effort to type every single one up myself to be able to would have been equally silly when generally this isnt that type of game to me

I was generally interested in the story but like sometimes it was kind of insane LMAO like there is a couple things specifically that are very much spoilers that im like ? for why . (cough emily cough)

basically like. I didnt hate it despite my negativity. it had times I enjoyed it for sure. so its not a total knock, but its not a big recommend either. I would not recommend for achievement hunters though unless they watch some gameplay first and decide its worth it to them

I liked the skill progression system a lot, and I enjoyed the consumables stuff too honestly! it did have things going for it! there were just moments I really wasnt enjoying it but I can get committed to seeing things through just in case

it also was really cheap which was a bonus. while I had issues with it, I defintely got my moneys worth out of the playtime!

this is a moment I wish steam had a more nuanced system than basically smash or pass. because it was more like... a quick kiss for me. probably a smash for the right person, maybeee would have passed if I could go back in time(MAYBE, again: complex feelings here).
