Die filmische Umsetzung von the Complex kann sich sehen lassen. Obendrein gibt es einige Verzweigungen und nach dem ersten Durchgang hat man erst die Hälfte aller Szenen gesehen. Ob das Grund genug ist, es mehrmals durchspielen zu wollen, das hängt sicherlich auch vom Spielertyp ab. Ich selbst hatte hinterher keine offenen Fragen und revidiere generell nur ungern meine zuvor getroffenen Entscheidungen. Zugleich ist es schade, dass das Gameplay so limitiert bleibt. In einigen Momenten wünscht man sich vergeblich eine Entscheidungsmöglichkeit und die zwischenmenschlichen Konflikte hätten die Macher mehr ausreizen können. Nach gutem Beginn wird die Story leider immer banaler. Als Film würde es dadurch nicht überzeugen können. Wer das Genre aber zu schätzen weiß, der kann schon einen Blick riskieren.

Solo VS Online: 2/10 Solo only and it's just not that fun in general.
Achievements: 4/10 Having to play the entire game 8+ times to get all achievements is insane.

I would say this is not really a game, but more like a full movie where you make the key decisions yourself. The whole playthrough takes about 1.5 hours, which makes it a great option if you just want to spend a calm evening on it.

The story is quite interesting and intriguing. As the plot develops, you periodically make decisions that affect how events unfold and how the characters interact with each other. Because of that, it becomes pretty engaging, since you keep wondering what your choices will lead to.

I’ll definitely try playing it again to get a different ending. But there is also a small downside — unlike something like Detroit, you can’t see the branching paths of the story. So if you want to see other outcomes, you have to replay the whole thing and try making different decisions.

Está bien, sin más, su historia es entretenida, sin mucho que analizar realmente, te lo puedes pasar en una hora o dos, y si luego quieres ver otros finales el juego te permite skipear las escenas que ya viste, sin embargo, es un poco decepcionante que algo así como la mitad de los finales son ligeras variantes de otros, y que muchas decisiones en realidad no sean relevantes más allá de sacar una de estas variantes de final, eso realmente se vuelve aburrido, luego de sacar unos 5 finales no pude más y vi el resto por YouTube, y aún así, es algo aburridor porque estarás viendo un poco de lo mismo pero con cambios pequeños.

ahora, fuera de la parte de la historia, debo decir que algunos efectos especiales son tan pero tan malos que sacan totalmente la inmersión y evitan que pueda tomarme el juego en serio, mención especial a que en una de las escenas puede verse el corte del croma 🥀💔 además de que algunas de las actuaciones son realmente malas, más que todo personajes secundarios pero aún así, quita totalmente la inmersión.

Como conclusión puedo decir que está entretenido, sin más, y que si alguien lo va a jugar, que tenga en cuenta que si esto saliera como una película seguramente la crítica se la comería viva, o sería tachada como mediocre tirando a mala y estoy siendo generoso.

Esse é o terceiro FMV que jogo. Achei-o + ou - como todos os outros. As decisões que tomamos tem pouco ou nenhum impacto na história. Os cenários são bons, embora em algumas cenas, percebe-se, claramente, que se trata de tela verde. A história é clichê e bem simplória e a trilha sonora é mediana.
Pra quem gosta de FMV sugiro comprá-lo numa promoção. Nota 4.

This game has a massive frustrating bug and it holds achievement hunters in a never-ending hell of rewatching the same lackluster scenes over and over! It makes the fact that this is a high quality FMV with a decent set and an okay story seem like a slap in the face because if the game would just function correctly, you would only have the lead's acting to complain about. I wrote this with me having done one playthrough, then going to go through the second one, but constantly having issues with the game crashing every other time I skip a scene I've already seen. I played this on Steam deck, so I had the luxury of saying the Steam Deck verification was inaccurate because there were bugs that caused the game to not function properly, but I doubt one person saying they had a problem would fix the rating, so just be aware it's buggy on at least the Steam Deck. The real fun part of this situation is it autosaves your file at specific intervals, not after every decision, so I could miraculously make it past two decisions, crash at a third one, then have to restart the three decisions before that and have to roll my luck all over again. Also, it just randomly decides I can't skip scenes I've already seen even if they're scenes I've skipped previously, then crashes right at the end of them. It's so wonderful when I'm forced to rewatch a scene, then it crashes so I have to restart, then it forces me to rewatch it again while I'm sitting there wondering if it will even let me go to the next scene. This is such a major bug that I would consider a deal breaker for me, but I didn't see anything about it when I checked reviews before buying it. I was already on the fence for a negative review before I started a second playthrough because the lead has poor acting skills, but even if she was wonderful this would become a thumbs down. To explain the acting complaint a bit more; you shouldn't be outcast by every other actor when you're the lead, especially if someone is trying to put themselves in your shoes and you convey zero emotion. I had more empathy for the antagonist's plight even though they were incredibly messed up, and they were in like four scenes! Now that I've been frustrated enough by the game to leave my review, I'm gonna go back try to finish skipping to get the other endings so I can erase this game forever.

Крутое игро-кино на вечер. Сюжет интересный, без явных косяков. С удовольствием посмотрел бы настоящий фильм с такой тематикой. Актеры хорошие, решения заставляют думать и переживать. По скидке советую всем, за фулл прайс только истинным любителям такого) Проходится +- ровно за час. (Естественно есть куча концовок, чтоб увидеть все думаю понадобится около 4-5ч) + есть секретная, планируем пробежать на нее в следующий вечер.

플탐이 그렇게 길지 않아서 적당히 즐기면서 할 수 있는 수준
근데 대부분의 선택지가 딱히 영향을 안끼치는거 같음
선택지가 주어지는데, 답정너로 그냥 그대로 안가는경우가 있음
한가지 아쉬운점이, 다른 결말 보고싶어서 2회차 하려면 스킵 아무리 눌러도 꽤 많은 부분을 다시 봐야함

A film with choices, not really a game. Even says it's "A film by Paul Raschid" at the start. Good TV-quality actor performances and good plot. Crisp, smooth full-screen video. It's worth replaying at least once. However, the choices don't really change things that much until around the last 15 minutes. You'll see different video clips, though. I think The Complex is worth watching as a thriller film anyway, even if there had been no choices. The story is engaging and made me change opinions a few times on certain characters and what I might do later. Some accents difficult to understand, but the subtitles are good enough without distracting errors. I suggest going without subtitles the first time around for more dramatic impact although you'll likely miss a few replies.

Игра в целом мне понравилась. Было интересно поиграть в игру, где буквально есть только выборы и с такой графикой, а точнее — её отсутствием, буквально смотришь кино. Ну и самый главный плюс игры — красивая актриса, играющая главную героиню Эми. Также спасибо, что ускорили получение всех концовок, добавив пропуск уже просмотренных катсцен, на 100% достижений прошёл за 3 с небольшим часа. В целом на распродаже можно взять и один вечер поиграть, ну или парочку, если захотеть увидеть все концовки)

Якщо порівнювати з повноцінними фільмами, акторська гра місцями не дотягує: трапляються помітні ляпи, неприродні діалоги та сцени, які виглядають фейково і тупо. Інколи можна посміятимь. Проте якщо порівнювати з іграми, то ситуація змінюється - сюжет доволі драматичний, а подача дозволяє відчути емоції, які гра намагається нав’язати або змусити пережити.

Ключова механіка гри - вибір. Тут доводиться постійно обирати між різними варіантами дій, і ці рішення справді мають значення. Наслідки відчутні та часто радикальні: на відміну від ігор DON'T NOD, тут вибір не косметичний, кожне рішення може коштувати життя одному з персонажів. Через це більшість виборів відчуваються напруженими, а інколи й морально важкими, хоча я був не проти вбиваит всіх на друге проходження).

Сюжет загалом цікавий і не банальний. Він не встигає набриднути, тримає темп і напругу, а хоча й використовує знайомі науково-фантастичні кліше, це не шкодить атмосфері та зануренню. Навпаки - для FMV-формату працюють доволі органічно.

Гра дуже коротка - основне проходження займає близько півтори години. Водночас завдяки великій кількості варіантів розвитку подій і фіналів її легко розтягнути ще на кілька годин, якщо досліджувати альтернативні гілки сюжету.

Какой же бред, а не игра. Вы создали главной героине образ супер ученого, она лечила людей в стране третьего мира под обстрелом. Тем временем выбор в середине игры, когда человек получает ножевое в ногу "Промыть перекисью" "Промыть водой из крана" "Ничего не делать". Я не могу переживать за персонажей, вся игра ощущается как постановка в детском садике на утренник.

The Complex можна впевнено оцінити на 7/10. У грі є 9 різних кінцівок, що мотивує проходити її кілька разів і експериментувати з вибором. Сюжет цікавий і подається у справді кіношному форматі, завдяки чому гра сприймається як інтерактивний фільм.

Водночас варто зазначити, що за масштабом і глибиною The Complex виглядає досить простенькою у порівнянні з такими проєктами, як The Dark Pictures Anthology або The Quarry. Там більше складних рішень, персонажів і драматичної напруги. Але як компактна, атмосферна історія на один-два вечори гра працює добре й залишає приємне враження.
Гру прошли два рази за десь півтори-дві години, як подивитись фільм)

I've played this game in its entirety twice and I love it. For FMV games, I treat them as an interactive movie to watch with my community (Koala__Quinn.TTV, shameless plug.. I know) and this one was great! So great, I played it twice and will likely play it again in my next few upcoming streams. This looks great, the story's good and each choice does make an ACTUAL difference in the game/scenes. When I go into these games, I don't look for Hollywood acting (but I expect it to be good-ish) or quality but this was really good! Give it a try if this is your kind of game!

The complex has an intriguing premise, a bio weapon attack on London with two scientists trapped in a laboratory, forced to solve the crisis- but the execution falls short. While the setup sounds compelling, the story never fully capitalizes on it. Choices rarely feel impactful, and the multiple endings are so similar that they lose their significance. Как игра на один вечер по хорошей скидке - интересно, но функция перемотки пройденных этапов не работает, как хотелось бы, и показывает ключевые моменты целиком, хоть ты их и смотрел, с невозможностью перемотки конкретно этих сцен. ( ? баг ? ) И это просто тяжело... даже из интереса попробовать посмотреть все концовки.

Радует, что есть ру‑озвучка от левых ребят в руководствах для тех, кто не любит читать субтитры.

I found the story pretty fine. Nothing too interesting. The soundtrack is good. After getting all the achievements I had 5.1 hrs total so I would say the game can be very short to complete. But that does depend on how fast you can find the endings. In the end it’s an alright game I would say

The Complex is an FMV narrative game that aims to blend scientific thriller elements with character-driven drama.

[h2]The Good Stuff[/h2]

The game is short, cheap, and offers an easy 100%, which might be the main selling point for some. Also, credit where it’s due: the decision timer can be turned off, which removes unnecessary pressure and makes the experience slightly more bearable. There is at least some creativity in the set design and the outfits.

Story, acting, writing - all of it feels off. The narrative is incoherent, jumps between ideas without properly developing any of them, and never becomes engaging. Characters talk a lot, but rarely say anything of substance. Emotional moments don’t land, conflicts feel artificial, and decisions often seem arbitrary rather than meaningful. It feels like the game desperately wants to be smarter than it actually is, constantly hinting at depth and complexity that never really materialize.

Forgettable, unfocused, and ultimately not worth your time unless you’re specifically hunting for a quick and cheap completion.

The game just not worth any of your attention. The problem is not that it's small and very cheap (captured literally in one complex place) but it's plot and characters. I don't feel that I make meaningful choices or something that I can believe being reasonable. I just don't feel myself being there with characters... That's quite sad but that's the main point right?

В игре нет никаких головоломок, но тут девять разных концовок...

Okay det er første gang jeg reelt har noget på tankerne om et spil så here we go:
Spillet er overraskende godt og har en virkelig god storyline, som hurtigt fanger en. Især bi-karakteren Rees er fantastisk, der virkelig løfter oplevelsen og gør historien mere engagerende. Dog har spillet også nogle klare svagheder. Når man skal træffe valg, bliver der klippet meget hårdt fra den ene scene til den næste, og det føles ret brat. I stedet for at historien flyder naturligt videre, bliver man lidt revet ud af oplevelsen især sammenlignet med fx Detroit Become Human, hvor overgangen mellem valg og konsekvenser føles langt mere smooth. Derudover er hovedkarakterens skuespil ikke helt lige så overbevisende som de andre karakterers, hvilket gør, at nogle vigtige scener ikke rammer helt så hårdt. Heldigvis gør Rees’ præstation meget af dette og udligner klart det samlede indtryk. Samlet set sidder man tilbage med en rigtig god oplevelse og følelsen af, at man gerne ville have haft lidt mere.

14 euros er dog absurd en pris, køb den på udsalg.

The quality-of-life features are not great - there is no real option to replay certain parts, you have to start from the beginning. So, for me to recommend it, the story and acting would have to be exceptional - and they are! Top notch cast and acting, excellent twists and turns, a great action/sci-fi story that just builds the tension. I couldn't be convinced to play again, but greatly enjoyed my session. A quality game in the FMV genre.

[i]The Complex[/i] is a solid FMV adventure that does exactly what it sets out to do. I was in the mood for an FMV game, and this one definitely scratched that itch. The story is compelling enough to keep you invested, and it held my attention all the way through to the point where I ended up 100% completing it.

The characters and scenarios are written well enough that I genuinely wanted to see more of them, which says a lot for this kind of game. While the acting can be subpar at times, it’s nothing outside the norm for FMV titles and never detracts too heavily from the experience. You’re not coming in expecting Oscar-worthy performances, and within those expectations, it gets the job done. If you enjoy narrative-driven FMV games, this is an easy recommendation.

I would only recommend this game if you get it in a fanatical bundle for like super cheap. It's too much even on sale on steam right now.. $3 is far too much for this game. $15 is just absurd. The storyline starts off very mundane, predictable but with certain choices it can get interesting once you make it to the lab.
It took me 1.4 hours to finish the game once... so the "game" is short as well. Marking this a solid 5.5/10 so I'll mark it recommended.

这是我玩过最辣鸡的影游。
先说唯一一个优点，那就是女主是真漂亮啊！
好了优点说完了剩下全是缺点。首先流程极短，一小时多一点点就打完一周目。然后整个剧情极其儿戏，很难让人入戏，女主在面对生死时就跟玩过家家一样淡定，拜托你是个科学家好吗，尼玛的神盾局特工都没你这么淡定，在刚死的同事旁边谈恋爱。
最恶心的是还不能返回选择节点，是的，如果你选错了或者打出了不满意的结局就要从头再来，没有选择节点可返回，你丫搞九个结局是要让人赤九遍吗？？
再说一点音乐问题，这个很影响沉浸感，背景音乐在选择节点突然断掉也就算了，正常切镜头的时候也要时不时断掉吗？就问你何意味，很影响观看。
还有那个家庭野餐视频，看到这条评论的千万别看，里面有鬼图，就连我这个恐怖片爱好者在毫无心理防备的情况下都愣了一下，还是蛮吓人的。
总之这个游戏是我打大折入的，就这我都觉得不值得，这游戏太烂了

I bought this expecting an old school style FMV game and it's not - but that's on me.

What we have here is a well shot film that throws up the odd decision for you to make to change the outcome of the story. It's well acted and, as I mentioned, well shot, but the writers really let the side down here. They clearly don't understand how a vacuum works (one of the major plot points) and there were so many plot holes I nearly called the local council to have them patched up.

In saying that, I enjoyed my first run through and there were even a few laughs. I suppose it has replayability but there really aren't enough decisions to be made to justify sitting through 90% of the same footage again for me.

Grab it if it's a decent deal on sale.

The Complex is an FMV game about a virus outbreak in London. The main character Dr Amy Tenant is a scientist who is trapped in a laboratory with a few colleagues, and must find a way to escape.

This is basically an interactive movie, so gameplay involves watching the video scenes and then occasionally making a choice to influence how the story plays out.

My first playthrough took only 76 minutes to complete, and my 2.6 hours playing time represents two full playthroughs. The actors did a good job, but the quality of the story is limited by its short length.

While there are eight different endings, most of the story will play out in a very similar way. During my second playthrough I made a few different choices and I saw a couple of new scenes, but then the story moved itself back onto the main path to continue playing out the same way. I also counted three occasions where I could choose between two options, I chose option B, but another character overruled me and did option A anyway.

I bought The Complex as part of a bundle. I specifically wanted Dead Reset, but I saw that for an extra £2 I could get 2 more games including this one. So the best recommendation I could give for The Complex is that I wouldn’t buy this game by itself, but its worth playing if you pick it up in a bundle.
