While I do enjoy the silly humor, I find the game to be buggy, crashed during intro cutscene, freezes often on exit, and there's screen flicking/tearing issue. There is no resolution settings. I also find the texts small and uncomfortable to read.

Also there's no steam cloud support, although the page will say Up To Date, the actual save sync was never implemented, which is very disappointing for someone who wants to play both on PC and on Steam Deck.

在买散key的时候忽然看到了这个游戏，看了眼游戏截图忽然就想起来之前的事情了。
第一次见到这游戏是在大概初高中的时候吧。
那时候是在电视上游戏风云里看到查克拉在玩这个游戏。
当时就感觉这款游戏很有趣，但是家里没有电脑，也没机会玩上这个游戏。

等到我上大学的时候，游戏风云就已经开始没落了。但游戏风云对我的游戏启蒙影响还是蛮大的。有了电脑之后我就注册了steam，开始买一些自己喜欢的游戏（虽然大多都是老古董，但我确实很喜欢）。
当年最爱看的查克拉和so这对组合也不在游戏风云了。
在大学的这段时间很快，快到游戏风云改名，so姐有了孩子，查总也在b站慢慢复播了。
而我，马上也要毕业了。
很抱歉说了这么多没用的，但是那段回忆对我来说真的很美好。

总的来说，这款游戏除了没汉化和联机的成就不太好做，其他都还好。
游戏的画风很可爱，打击感也很不错。如果不要求全程就的话，游戏的全流程也没有很长，难度也很适中，手残党也可以玩。
游戏中也还藏了一些其他游戏里的小彩蛋，在玩的时候有“居然有这种彩蛋”的惊喜感。
总之，如果你不介意没有汉化的话，那么这款游戏绝对是好玩不贵的。推荐！

This is a terrific game for children of adolescent age. Colourful and action-packed platforming, not hard at all, and yet it has a very soft and sweet ambiance. If you want a soft squishy cuddly giraffe in your backpack to aid you along the way, then look no further.
P.S.: was this inspired by Cat Quest (but with added platforming) or the other way round?

Absolutely delightful little game. At multiple times I found myself laughing or smiling at the humor. I feel like everytime I thought the platforming was just finding it's pattern things would change or be added slightly and those mechanics shaped things up enough to keep things interesting until the very end. Underwater areas were done correctly. I like the muffin hunting mechanic. Overall a great time and I can't wait for my friend to visit my state so we can play co-op together

I first played The Adventure Pals years ago on the Nintendo Switch, and picking it up again during Steam’s winter sale reminded me why I loved it in the first place. This game is pure joy — a colorful, silly, wonderfully absurd platformer that never takes itself too seriously.

The controls are smooth and intuitive, the art style is bright and charming, and the characters are delightfully weird in all the right ways. The Adventure Pals leans fully into bizarre humor, and it works beautifully. One moment you’re helping a farmer find his missing “bride,” only to discover she’s actually a pig. He’s thrilled, thanks you profusely, and promises to treat you to bacon next time. That’s the kind of energy this game runs on.

The main villain is equally ridiculous, kidnapping elderly people to turn them into hot dogs. Throughout the adventure you’ll fight angry hot dogs in buns, and when you defeat them, they transform back into old folks. It’s strange, it’s silly, and it’s consistently entertaining.

The soundtrack deserves a shout‑out too — upbeat, catchy, and perfectly matched to the game’s cheerful chaos.

In short, The Adventure Pals is a wonderfully fun platformer packed with personality. It’s lighthearted, imaginative, and simply a great time. Whether you’re revisiting it or discovering it for the first time, it’s hard not to smile while playing.

Didn't made me rage quit even once, as usually this genre push me. Not even skill focused. This game really made to cheer the player rather than trying hard to be a masterpiece. The art is adorable, colorful & gorgeous, simply pleasing to look at. I'm tired of dark souls inspired pixel art that would easily stress me.

Not sure why some people have issues with same repeated enemies because to me, that is the charm. Even with repeated enemies it didn't tire me. I just keep going & until I finished. I defeat every boss fight at 1st try, yet the lack of challenge didn't bother me. I guess I'm into cozy style game nowadays.

I came across this game when I was a kid playing the former flash game "super adventure pals" and also by watching DanTDM's playthrough of it. Back then it seemed incredibly fun and seemed so cool.... I was wrong. The level of mediocrity in this game is completely unmatched.

When you first begin to play the game it seems fun, there's a lot to do: a shop , a level up system , items you can use, cards to collect, and even accessories. However you level up incredibly fast in this game so by the time you're halfway through the game you're already max level. Although each level up does some quality of life improvements it's overall ruined by having barely any use. For example you have a rock as a pal and a skill you unlock is it's ability to do chain attacks. This little midget rock does these chain attacks once in a blue moon. It's like in anime when the main character fights the villain and the villain practically puts the mc in a vegetative state and only then do the side characters decide to join in and help. Why must I wait until I've gone through 4 health potions to finally be aided by some little turd looking rock? The accessories are cool but why does the pathetic stone get the cool looking stuff and my giraffe gets absolutely nothing?

Each level consists of 5 stages of which there is 1 muffin to collect for each stage as well as a card that is randomly across either one of the 5 stages. Then while playing through each level you realise how boring and monotonous each one becomes. There's no linear path to literally most levels. So you spend time circling back to places you have already been while attempting to get these muffins and cards and it makes you feel like you're in some sort of mental asylum living the same day over and over again.

As you progress it's almost as if the developers just realised how much they really dgaf, they genuinely use the same creatures disguised as different animals and call it a day. It's like in mario if you were to finish the grasslands biome having gone against goompas and koopa troopas , and then in the ice biome you just go against the same exact same goompas and koopa troopas but instead the developers just redesigned them as polar bears and arctic foxes. It's just a cop out and embarrassing. Also while searching for muffins you might accidentally go to the portal well (which is where the end of each stage is) and instead of being able to just walk back (to get the muffin) you have to become prime ♥♥♥♥ Grayson (Nightwing) and do some next acrobatics to get out. And if you were to miss the muffin you would have to restart the stage again at a later point.

However at the time of writing this review, I still am playing this game and the only thing motivating me is unlocking all achievements. That's it. Literally every level past the first biome requires you to do some goofy unnecessary puzzle because the developers thought that it would make the game more fun. Hello?

All in all, I understand this is a kids game but I am utterly disappointed from how blinded I was by nostalgia. If you are a masochist by all means play this game.

the next evolution of the 2d platformer. better than mario wonder. It's like if dkc2 and legend of zelda had a kid. don't think about that too hard. It essentially combines great platforming with great rpg mechanics. and ontop of that adds in an immersive world. the foxes rock.

I think the game is fun, but has about the depth of a kiddie pool. The enemies variety is essentially nonexistant, zones change but the enemies only get a new coat of paint.

Enjoyed the experience but it has no replay ability unless you want to get the easy platinum

This game can be used as level design guide, levels have very nice and relaxing flow. The negative is soundtrack, it's basically 1 song per every location and all of them make you wanna throw up. Just watch the trailer and decide for yourself if it's possible to listen to that for 13.9 hours. All other negatives and positives are minor.

When I was a little chungy I saw DanTDM play this game and I was like, "I WANTS TO GET TIS GAEM!!!"
Soon my awesome friend, RedDJ gifted this to me and I was like, "Yo that's cool." but the levels just felt repetitive even though every time I entered I new level it was one that I am not even familiar with. I get that there are like different worlds (sets of levels) with new gimmicks but I ain't playing that much to just play with a new gimmick even on multiplayer it is not that fun.

Adventure Pal is a fun little game with a lot of charm, but it comes with some big caveats.

First of all, unless you’re playing with a controller, the experience is almost unplayable. Keyboard controls are extremely awkward: you can remap left and right, but not up and down, which feels bizarre. Using the numpad for movement might work if you’re left-handed, but for right-handed players it feels very unintuitive. If you’re willing to adapt or stick to the default setup, it’s manageable, but a controller is almost mandatory here.

On the positive side, the game has some strong elements:

The leveling system with choices is surprisingly engaging.

The sound design is excellent and adds a lot to the atmosphere.

Combat is dynamic and keeps you on your toes.

That said, retention seems to be an issue. I played for about 55 minutes and only made it to the second level — Steam shows that only ~33% of players even get that far, which suggests many drop off early.

Verdict: Adventure Pal is a dynamic and charming experience if you’re playing with a controller and can look past the clunky controls. At full price it’s harder to recommend, but on sale it’s definitely worth picking up.

The Adventure Pals is a lighthearted and whimsical experience all coded and illustrated by only 2 developers. It's jam packed full of all kinds of weird and wonderful characters that you will discover as you continue on through your journey of rescuing your dad from being turned into a hot - dog by an evil mind controlling bee. It's filled to the brim with humor, and it has a generally very charming atmosphere. While it's game mechanics vary widely between the 6 different worlds you encounter throughout the game, playing through some of the levels can feel very tedious, and I feel that the game is better suited for a younger demographic.

Rating: 5/10 - Lighthearted platformer better suited for a younger audience jam packed full of all kinds of silly humor

Honestly it just didn't have enough variety. I played a while and got bored. Kept trying to come back so I could get the achievements but just couldn't force myself to play it anymore. I felt like I had experienced everything already and there wasn't much point. Which sucks cause I hate having games that I haven't 100%'d
If the game had been much shorter, less redundant content and beatable in a reasonable amount of time it would have gotten a thumbs up from me.

Причудливая, бессмысленная, странная игра о жирафе, который помещается в рюкзак, говорящих животных, живых тостах и других странных вещах. Я почти уверен, что разработчики этой игры немного взяли от мультфильма «Время приключений»...
В игре много мультяшных вещей, но по сути это довольно забавный платформер с механикой коллекционирования. Также есть элементы РПГ с повышением уровня для получения более мощных приемов и вещей.

Эта игра отлично подходит для маленьких детей. Тем не менее, в нее могут играть и люди постарше. На карте есть арены, где можно проверить своего персонажа в 5 раундах на каждой из них с постоянными врагами. Она явяется платформером, но не суперсложным. Есть некоторые головоломки, но в них несложно разобраться. И так же есть хорошая поддержка контроллера.

Для меня история показалась слишком короткой. Я прошел ее полностью за 20 часов. Я, вероятно, мог бы пройти ее даже меньше, но я охотился за предметами и наслаждался игрой.

В целом, я нашел игру очень интересной, даже если она была немного коротковата для меня. Я обнаружил, что эта игра отлично подойдет для маленьких детей, а мультяшная графика и глупые персонажи делают ее веселой. Я рекомендую ее как молодым, так и старым игрокам в видеоигры.

"This is just a kids game!" I'd say, but here I am playing 10+ hours on The Adventure Pals and enjoying it.
This game is seriously more entertaining than I had expected. You start off with a tutorial by the MC's dad, only for him to be abducted by an enemy riding a bee. Huh.
In the later game, you encounter newer enemies, more platform features like a hook-shot that shoots you towards a direction when you grab it, toaster jumps, as well as more obstacles like the moving spikes. The game provides a nice and forgiving progression in difficulty, so you're never caught off guard the second time you have to re-spawn, or start over on the level.
The artwork looks cartoonish and very childish, but it's cute and very PG friendly. The animations are so smooth and fluid, with no lag nor FPS drops. There's also a sticky climb mechanics of the MC, so you're always auto-climbing edges incase you don't make it, as well as wall-gripping every time you make contact with the walls.
I absolutely love the flexibility of level selection and progress indicator on each of the stages on the map. If you miss a cupcake, sticker pack, or even collection quest items you can always go back to the specific level, and only need to complete that level again before returning to the world map. You can even just buy the sticker packs from the shops, as they're only used for cosmetic purposes.
I love The Adventure Pals, and would endorse it to anyone looking for a fun, adventure platformer game to play. It's honestly one of my favourite platformers on Steam.

游戏玩法是跳跃+解密+打怪，但三个部分都设计得比较简单，战斗一直平A，解密也不复杂，就是部分关卡跳跃偏难了点。但大部分情况也很简单。总体难度不高，重复性较大。

不过双人带娃的话还是合适的，难度不高适合孩子。当个无双爽游是可以的。
