Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon es un híbrido raro pero sabroso: estrategia en tiempo real con desplazamiento lateral, donde en vez de “micro” a lo esports, gestionas líneas, unidades y hechizos en 2D mientras dos bandos se tiran todo lo que encuentran (incluida la dignidad) hasta tumbar la base rival. Es Acción + Estrategia, pero envuelto en un estilo Indie colorido que parece caricatura… hasta que te das cuenta de que te están haciendo sudar.

La primera impresión es: “Qué bonito, qué casual”. La segunda es: “Ah, ok, sí castiga”. Entre vikingos, fantasía y caos competitivo, el juego se siente como un tug-of-war táctico: empujas, te empujan, te equivocas una vez y de repente estás viendo cómo te hacen la autopsia estratégica en tiempo real.

Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon es de esos indies que se sienten “ligeros” hasta que te das cuenta de que están diseñados con mala leche competitiva: estrategia directa, acción constante y decisiones que importan. Tiene identidad, buen ritmo y un estilo visual/musical que hace que perder duela… pero con gracia.

El problema controversial (y real) es que su mejor cara es el enfrentamiento, y ahora mismo el multijugador está en modo “pueblo fantasma” con 0 jugadores. Con 169 recomendaciones totales, el juego claramente tiene fans, pero no necesariamente una fila de rivales esperándote. Si tienes amigo(s) para pantalla compartida o Remote Play Together, se vuelve una joyita. Si buscas matchmaking vivo, vas a terminar jugando contra tu propia esperanza.

Oh damn, these games tell a story, just not the one they needed to tell.
When i played the first game, the FIRST laugh was because the game called the viking workers "these gold diggers" (they pick up gold) and they were big boobed viking gals. THAT game came out in 2010, 4 full years before the woke mind virus infected the world.
THIS game was released 4 years after such event. Right off the bat starts with an empowered female nagging at the once first main character (she actually shows up and speaks before him), This trope is further confirmed by the fact that both factions i have seen so far had a female giving orders.

Now none of this has anything to do with the gameplay (i will update my review on that later), but its not a good look since i have never come accross AN ACTUALLY GOOD piece of entertainment made by wokevid infected people.

UPDATE 1:
As expected, the gameplay has suffered. They threw in a LOT of stuff, if i wanna play a game which has me constantly jumping all over the map, ill play me a proper RTS (hell, some SC2 sounds pretty good right now).
Doesnt even compare to the first installment of the franchize, units are bloated, the ratio at which you gather resources is slowed down and thus, the size of the army suffers and the action is slowed down. In the previous game, the map was crawling with units and (while still thinking) you had to frantically churn them out.

Those reviews which say this game is better than the first can only be refering to looks and to pointless variety. The first game had sillier (funnier) graphics and as for variety, you had 4 factions and for each faction it often changed the tools at your dispposal in very interesting ways which made some stages actually difficult. This game replaces that with a lot of pointless tools and side objectives while keeping the actual stage pretty easy.

At this point, my fears have been confirmed to such an extent, that i dread the possibility of the other characters of the first game making a comeback.

It was fun game.

The art style is good, and the music is also nice.

The story is ok, but the point of the game are the battles, which are pretty cool.
There's many spells and units to choose from, which can certainly allow quite a few strategies, though I'm sure there's a definite strong one, just something I feel.

All the levels are fairly fun to do, though the bonus medals sometimes are super tough to get, some require quite a lot of skill, which can add to the fun as well though.

Honestly I don't got much to say on this, it was just a nice game to have some fun time on.

Overall, a fun RTS game that's bound to be a good way to spend a few hours, though by this point you'll need a friend to do the online.

Felt poorly designed. I enjoyed the original Swords and Soldiers, but this sequel adds things for no reason, making the game worse. Most spells & units seem pointless and it's hard to tell what even is their purpose.

The game is trying too hard to be funny, which resulted in a nonsensical story. Campaign is a mix of battles with preselected units and custom battles sprinkled in between for no other reason than forcing you to figure out what kind of units you need to win.

While I like the aesthetic, the experience was somewhere between meh and frustrating.

A side-scrolling RTS in which you collect resources, build structures, and send various units across the map to the enemy base on the opposite side.

The presentation is nice, and there’s a plentiful variety of units and spells to use, but the campaign is unfortunately full of levels and scenarios that restrict your options so heavily that you essentially only have one way of playing them. This, in addition to the punishing difficulty curve, makes for an experience that ends up being frustrating far more often than it’s worth.

It's like an oversimplified RTS game.
I found the campaign to be silly in a not appealing way, and all the levels were either too easy, or slightly frustrating. It's not long, but I think they intend this to be a multiplayer experience. I played a few rounds against someone locally and it's ok, but tends to have the same drawbacks as other multiplayer RTS games - skill differences cause games to be not particularly interesting and struggles dividing your focus will cost you heavily. Rounds do tend to be short at least.
All in all I'd look elsewhere to satisfy an RTS itch, unless you really do want the oversimplification.

Сюжет: Тут мало что можно засполерить... но тут есть шутки из разряда Аль-Буфет - злодейка Терва (без буквы с), и остальными приколами. Если такого рода сюрный юмор вам не нравиться - то идите стороной. Ценителям токого - парадная дверь открыта.

Стилистика: Викинги, персы и орды тьмы делят меж собой шаурму - в конечном счёте выглядит ровно так же - как и звучит. Приятная графика - красивые эффекты. Довольно лампово и уютно.

Время на игру: сюжетку прошёл в два раза быстрее заверенных часов - всего за 5. Но прохождение на гордые все ачивки может занят ровно 10 часов - если не больше. На пару вечеров самое то.

Геймплей: Есть две базы - левые и праве. Вы правая - вызывайте рабочих и войнов - и те идут верой с правдой долбиться бошками об таких же болванчиков с другой стороны. Просто и без перегрузок.

Итог: Персонажи карикатурны, но интересны, геймплей есть - можно и с другом сыграть в дуэль - то бишь разгуляться есть где. Покупайте. Мне понравилось - о потраченых деньгах не скорблю.

相比一代是全面的退步。
最明显的就是战役难度太高了，而且并不有趣，就像在解象棋残局一样，让你开局处于大劣势中，然后让你不断失败不断重试的摸索出获胜之道
操作变繁琐了，运营更便秘了，单位相比一代贵了几倍，然而金币获取数量却提升不大，所以一代能体验到疯狂暴兵的乐趣，但是在这一代只剩下便秘般的运营手感。
其次就是三大阵营的单位强度明显不平衡，虽然一代也没做得多好，但是这代明显有很大的问题

Ohne grosse Erwartungen und ohne den Vorgänger zu kennen, habe ich dieses Spiel ausprobiert. Und der erste Eindruck von Swords and Soldiers 2 war sehr positiv. Die Grafik präsentiert sich einer toll anzuschauenden Comicgrafik. Was für eine angenehme Abwechslung zu allem Pixelquatsch oder Lowpolygon 3D. Die Story ist absurd, aber witzig erzählt von einem cool vertonten Sprecher. Auch das Spielprinzip macht zunächst richtig Spass. In Echtzeit schickt man Truppen von links nach rechts mit dem Ziel, die eigene Basis zu verteidigen und die gegnerische Basis platt zu machen. Dazu sammelt man logischerweise Ressourcen, um mit Gold neue Einheiten zu kaufen respektive mit Mana Zaubersprüche auf den Gegner loszulassen.

Wo also liegt das Problem? Zum einen daran, dass das Spiel insgesamt zu viel reinstopft mit zu wenig Erklärung. Es ist ja sympathisch, dass man sich nicht mit irgendwelchen Schadenszahlen auseinandersetzen muss, aber es macht die Sache eben auch weniger klar. Und es ist ja auch eigentlich positiv, dass es eine ganze Ladung unterschiedlicher Einheiten gibt. Nur in der Kombination führt das dazu, dass man viele Einheiten nicht so richtig kennt, was es wesentlich schwieriger macht, sie richtig einzusetzen.

Dazu kommen mit der Zeit auch richtig mühsame Missionen, wo man viel zu schnell überrannt wird, wenn man nicht sofort richtig taktiert. Was die richtige Taktik ist? Genau das ist schwierig zu erkennen, wenn man die Einheiten nicht richtig kennt. Und besonders mühsam sind dann auch noch Missionen ohne Basis, wo man unterwegs Ressourcen aufsammelt. Da wird es richtig eklig, wenn man gegen Ende plötzlich keine Einheiten und keine Ressourcen mehr hat und alles nochmals von vorne machen muss.

Das alles wäre aber erträglich, wenn das Gameplay richtig, richtig Spass machen würde. Aber irgendwie ist da bei mir auf lange Sicht der Funken dann eben doch nicht gesprungen. Ja, in den Missionen gibt es immer wieder mal Abwechslung und neue Gegner und Herausforderungen. Umso krasser ist es darum, dass man trotzdem das Gefühl bekommt, dass alles sich extrem repetitiv und letztlich langweilig anfühlt. Und da ist dann trotz allem Humor auch die Story zu belanglos und zieht auch nicht wirklich. Woran das deutlich wird? Nun, ich habe in der Mitte der Kampagne nach eine Walkthrough recherchiert, um herauszufinden, wie viele Missionen noch übrig sind. Und als ich merkte, dass ich erst leicht über der Hälfte war, brach ich das Spiel ab weil: Warum sollte ich mir das antun?

Fazit: Dieses toll präsentierte 2D-Echtzeitstrategie-Spiel wird leider auf die Dauer zu repetitiv, zu belanglos und zu unübersichtlich. Trotz guter Ansätze kann ich das Spiel darum nicht empfehlen und wenn dann nur an absolute Echtzeitfans, die mal ein ganz anderes Echtzeitstrategiespiel spielen wollen.

Могло б бути й краще. В ігроладі, порівняно з попередньою грою, відчувається якийсь натяк на кіберспорт від чого гра перетворюється на типове "зараш ворога перш ніж він зарашить тебе" у кожному матчі. Ще й якогось біса у Персів 4 бійці доступні, а у Демонів і Вікінгів тільки 3 (без урахування героїв).
Брати тільки зі знижкою і бажано ще мати друга з цією грою якщо захочеться грати не тільки проти ШІ бо quickmatch тут мертвий.

The 2D side scrolling RTS is actually a pretty fun genre to play from time to time. Shame this one didn't really pop off that much despite having PvP.

These days most of them tend to have pixel graphics, so it is nice to see the few that go with different artstyles.

They got voiceacting in this one lol its really good!!
I like that it still has that 'flash-game' feel but they've expanded on what they build in the first game.

Seems to allow only one style or preference of play against all campaign enemies, meaning a highly restricted meta. Stray outside that and lose. Meaning not much flex and creativity. At least for casuals, and this isn't meant to be a hardcore focus game, so casuals are the market.

Story content is fine, it's meant to be a short game, but over-all. I can't recommend it as a game for me.

I wish there were more side-scrolling 2D RTS games, they can be really fun and creative as demonstrated in this game. A lot of the control issues were cleverly tackled like being able to select a unit when multiple are overlapping, controlling camera through minimap, having keys for first and last units etc. While not a great game by any means it certainly has it’s moments and is filled to the brim with charm, definitely worth playing it at least to finish the campaign, not much to do in multiplayer though, pretty much dead. Overall score 6.5/10

I didn't love the first game, but I thought it had a decent premise and they could improve upon it in the sequel.

But the sequel doesn't work for me for different reasons.

Primarily, I hate the controls. They're very unintuitive. You have to stop and think what you want to do and which buttons to press to do it every time you need to make a decision.

And this game throws so many units at you in such quick succession, and I really never got a chance to figure out which units or abilities were better than others, or which set I would prefer to use in battle.

A lot of the missions hold you hand, which reduces the frustration factor, but I never felt I was in control of anything I wanted to do, which added frustration.

本作相比于前作，可谓是进行了全方位加强。
画面明显变得精致了许多，音乐也宏伟悠扬。
剧情和前作一样诙谐，但是在画面和音乐的加持下，反而有了种史诗感。
阵营虽然发生了改变，但技能大多还是和一代相同。
单人战役和前作类似，每场战役都仿佛一次全新的解谜，而不是“前期运营，后期平推”的重复，玩起来很有新鲜感。有的战役还分为多个阶段，到达新阶段时可能会触发一些事件，从而打乱战场形势，让部分初见的玩家有些无所适从。不过本作增加了存档点功能，可以读取上一个存档点，也可以跳过剧情快速重开，这让玩家进行新的尝试变得更方便。不过需要注意，存档点的机制比较奇怪，它貌似并不会保留玩家的士兵、建筑和升级树，而是将其清空，并返还已消耗的金钱和法力，只保存经过的时间。
增加的三星挑战难度我觉得刚刚好，每个关卡的挑战乍一看很难，可多试几次就能成功，毕竟升级树都是定死的(练习赛除外)，用穷举法都能试出正确的答案。
本作练习赛可以自由选择技能，所以策略性远胜一代，只可惜没什么人联机了。
小游戏难度低于前作，前作有个有个滚石砸中100个敌人而不碰队友的成就，我试了两个小时才达成。本作的两个小游戏成就基本试个几次就能过了。
我花了17个小时达成了除3个联机成就外的所有其他成就，说说我的理解：
1、战役90枚奖章成就只能说要多试，在这里很难详细描述。
2、奥拉里的暴怒成就不要把敌人一次都打进去，只要分数够再来一轮，就停手，等下一轮再打，多重复几轮即可。
3、诸神黄昏成就最好不要断连击，这样在打完炸弹人后刚好20万分，再下一波的巨兽会把小兵直接丢到羊那里，基本必死。除此之外，左键其实可以一次按很多下，它的间隔比你想象的要短很多。
4、任点任吃成就翻译有问题，说是练习赛中，让你的单位在一次比赛中吃掉2份沙瓦玛，但其实英文写的是20份。沙瓦玛就是先把敌人变羊，再电死后出现的烤串。电死一只羊会刷出3份烤串，小兵靠近时如果血不满会自动吃。
总而言之，这个游戏真的很不错，我玩得非常开心。
注：如果购买了DLC的原声集，默认只下载mp3版，需要在Steam右键游戏名，点属性，再点DLC，勾选第二个来下载flac版。

Swords and Soldiers 2 is a 2D strategy game where you have to destroy the enemy base at the other side of the level, while protecting your own base. To do so, you have to gather money from gold mines and crates that are dropping from the air. You can use this gold to produce units and to research new unit types. As soon as a unit is produced, it keeps walking to the other side and you can't stop or retreat.

To prevent this from getting boring, the developers have made a lot of different units in 3 unique factions. This is great, but you often have to gamble which unit to produce, since the fog of war around the enemy base prevents you from seeing which units the enemy is sending at you. You'll also need lots of trial and error to see what combination of units works against specific enemy attacks.

To keep things fair, you can also collect and produce crystals which you can use to cast spells. Spells can bribe enemy units, place defensive towers on the battlefield, raise fallen units etc. Using these spells is lots of fun, but again, also lots of trial and error. This makes the game rather frustrating in the later (more difficult) levels of the campaign.

Quite a refreshing game, it's casual but fun and quick. You won't win if you haven't got a clue but most strategies can be good. I played swords&soldiers 1 too and enjoyed them both ! Though they probably won't stay a long time on my hard drive and I won't spend hours and hours playing them, they are like candies you store on the shelf and rush to when you're in the mood.

absolutely trash mobile game.

it's a cartoon 2d RTS. the artwork is pretty good and the characters/story is decently funny, but that's where the compliments stop. the negative list is huge:
- the units aren't balanced
- the AI cheats (gold/unit boost)
- the campaign is full of traps where you get swarmed and is more of a puzzle game to figure out correct combo of units
- mp is dead
- soundtrack is garbage
- game is (thankfully) short

the worst thing: you can't turn your units around or stop them. so you helplessly watch the go into traps or aggro swarms then lose. it's absolutely frustrating and makes it easy to give this trash game a low rating.

just skip this title.
