i really want to give this game a thumbs up, because when i played it it was nothing but good times and good games... but it soon will no longer be on steam, it is a masterpiece that takes fortnite style mechanics and mixes it with titanfall and overwatch, but soon, it will only be avalible on moble, and i don't think i will migrate, even in light of spending very little. I stopped playing because updates made it hard to run, and now.... what was one of the best games i ever played will not even be here to recommend.... a shame.

It's been a while since this game went EOS so I might as well make a review on it.

This game hit a very specific niche that isn't really seen much on the market even today, having a mech in a battle royale usually meant a slow clunky or otherwise boring experience, this game however, turned that notion upside down by basing the structure around how well you play around such mechs. Despite this, you could still win fights even as a squishier and tinier person if you played your cards right and used the right weapons, to me that was what made it stick out the most. These mechs aren't just a 'guaranteed win' since in most cases, a regular player can do significant damage to your ace and force you into a losing matchup which encouraged an engaging tug of war battle between players.

This otherwise perfect experience does have it's natural downsides, a major flaw being the game wasn't that popular to fully fill a server, the devs had fixed this by adding in bots which filled in the extra numbers needed to start a match. These bots however were not 'good' perhaps one or two could be deadly if given a sniper rifle or explosive weapon, but they were otherwise a *heavy* amount of fodder before you actually start to fight actual people. This only grew worse as the game slowly died out, some games even having only 1-2 teams or just straight up full bot matches on ranked.

Another major complaint I had would be the lack of map variety. Since netease doesn't exactly like failing games, this one didn't get updated much. For most of it's lifespan SMC has only had *one* battle royale map, even across the other modes you only had one map most of the time just sectioned off into one area. They did eventually add a new map which breathed a slight bit of life to the game, however this just wasn't really enough to stave off the boredom for a lot of players, especially when this *2nd* map would be the last one they ever added.

Despite my complaints about this game, I deeply enjoyed it. The people I've met and the games I've fought in were always a fun time, even when it gets boring from mostly facing bots the game's core formula still managed to make it a fun experience, (I'll truly miss those 1v3 situations with Michael [Mech name]). You never felt helpless without a mech, instead thinking about the ideal techniques to buy you enough time to respawn it or even win out a fight purely with your own weapons and skills despite every odd against you.

Overall, It was a mess of a game. But I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world, I really do miss this game and all the fun times I've had on it, and I hope that one day it'll be re-opened or otherwise given to a different studio/developer to continue.

I used to play this game on my phone. Neutron Star was my favorite mech to play. I spent a lot of money on skins and battle passes. People kept asking for more mechs. They should've been asking to keep the game running.

The game is dead, so this review doesn’t really matter.

At its peak, the game struck a great balance between competitive and casual gameplay. It was a mecha game unlike anything else out there, even to this day. The sheer variety of mechs and pilot abilities kept the gameplay fresh, engaging, and genuinely fun. There was also a mobile version, which I personally didn’t enjoy and barely played. Unfortunately, there was no crossplay between platforms, or even between different servers, which fragmented an already small player base. While the core gameplay was solid, it often felt like the developers and publishers were overly focused on monetization, at least during the time I was actively playing. Despite that, the community, though extremely small, was one of the highlights. I met some great people and made a few good friends along the way. There have been occasional rumors about the game being revived, but I’m not holding my breath.

Overall, it was a genuinely fun game, and I really miss it.

Tenho mais de 200 horas jogadas, com isso posso dizer que sinto falta desse jogo, o único que tinha mechas (que é algo que eu sempre amei) e era gratuito, e claro, rodava no meu pc. Fiquei triste e ainda fico um pouco quando lembro que os servidores tiveram de ser encerrados, sinceramente, queria que ainda fosse possível jogar ele, mesmo que fosse apenas eu contra um monte de bot. Fui Top 1 no Brasil com o Trio of Enders, na minha opinião é o melhor mecha, ele simplesmente tem todas as armas. Eu deveria ter feito essa review antes do jogo ser encerrado, mas agora estou.
Se a netease puder, seria legal tornar o jogo offline, já que agora, tudo que resta desse jogo são vídeos na internet e memórias que carrego comigo.
Como um "pro player" de SMC, posso afirmar que se esse jogo ainda estivesse de pé, eu iria recomendar a um amigo, ou alguém.

It's a real Shame they are shutting down this game... it was an awesome experience. Having said that, I kind of know why they needed to close this game, it didn't have any further updates, no new maps... servers were super laggy..Otherwise it would've been a great long lasting game. It's a bummer to know that very cool games like this have to shutdown, and instead we have to stay with those Bullsht popular games filled with hackers, superbad servers and whatnot like COD, Battlefield and the rest of those...

Honestly? I miss this game. I miss my black cat mech. I miss teaming up with my boyfriend and raising hell with him in the arena during the 3 vs. 100 even though it was usually just us in our team unless a rando got assigned to us, and fighting against him in the 1 vs. 100. I spent so much time and money on this game, and I just really miss it. It's a shame you can't play it anymore. I made a few friends, but for me this game was a great stress reliever. that at the end of a hard day at work, i could decimate and dominate and get my aggression out in a fun way. I loved the sniper rifle. I remember one time i hit a guy from super far away as he was mid jump and it was so satisfying seeing him poof away. Well. it doesn't matter anymore. the servers are gone now. completely gone. my mech, my time, my money. gone. all i have is a few screenshots and my memories of it now.

Un jeu qui sait vraiment combiner fun, robots géants et chaos multijoueur, mais avec quelques réserves qui font que ce n’est pas parfait.

✅ Ce qui m’a plu
Une belle liberté de prendre le contrôle d’un mecha : chaque “robot” a son propre style, ses compétences, ce qui ajoute du plaisir à chaque match.
Le gameplay est rapide, fun et visuellement convaincant : mélange FPS + mecha + Battle Royale assez unique.
Le modèle “free to play” permet d’essayer sans gros investissement. Quelques joueurs témoignent d’un “vraiment fun” dès les premières heures.

❌ Ce qui freine
La communauté PC/Steam est très réduite : plusieurs retours disent qu’on se retrouve souvent contre des bots ou dans des files d’attente creuses.
Le modèle de monétisation/gacha est présent et certains joueurs ressentent une forte pression à payer pour débloquer les mechas ou skins.
Le contenu, les mises à jour ou l’engagement des devs sont critiqués : certains joueurs pensent que le jeu stagne ou manque de suivi.

📌 Mon verdict
Si tu aimes les jeux multijoueurs explosifs, les mecha, le style anime/sci-fi et que tu es prêt à accepter certains défauts (communauté réduite, modèle économique présent) → oui, Super Mecha Champions est un très bon choix.
En revanche, si tu es plutôt joueur solo, que tu veux une communauté massive, ou que tu es hyper sensible aux modèles “free to play + gacha”, alors certains aspects risquent de te frustrer.

Note perso : 7/10 Très fun, original, mais “quelque chose” manque pour en faire un incontournable absolu.

i keep coming back here, hoping this game has somehow returned, even though I know it's a long shot. For so long, it was my favorite escape — my best way to unwind. With nearly 300 hours played, I still feel the urge to dive in for 300 more. Much love to all the pilots out there who still miss their mecha

Eu sempre volto aqui pra ver se esse jogo voltou, mesmo sabendo que isso é muito improvavel. Durante muito tempo, esse foi o meu melhor passatempo. Com quase 300 horas de jogo, ainda tenho vontade de jogar mais 300!!!! Um salve para todos os pilotos que sentem falta do seu mecha.
