This is an awesome game. It is clearly inspired by Mass Effect, but the story has more of a feeling of Deadpool mixed with Rebel Galaxy. The story starts out as hilariously absurd, but then shows lots of depth. I love the character interactions, how committed the story is to the ridiculous plot, and the game's charm. I see lots of reviews complaining that newer games have better sex scenes, and that is true, but those are really just sprinkles on top of the rest of what the game offers.

Pretty fun game. The two main mini games (space ship wave survival and turn-based wave survival) are pretty neat. There are some sections that can be difficult, but the game has a baked-in “I failed 3 times and would like to just skip this mini game” button, which prevents any difficulty frustration.
It’s a game that has far more story and depth than most hentai games. Some of the better 3D models I’ve seen as well. To the people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it sucking as a visual novel, cry more lol. It’s not a cookie cutter visual novel, it’s not about choices. It advertises itself as what it is: a comedic, self-aware H game with a decently long and deeper story than most. You get loads of H scenes, some clothing options for the girls, and actual gameplay.
I got this game when it was on sale, and after having enjoyed it, I’d easily pay $25 or $30 for it (I do think $40 is a lot, but I get that H games are niche and have a different cost scaling for quality stuff). I think 40 levels for each girl is a lot, and that there are way too many nodes to get for each galaxy, but overall I am thoroughly enjoying the game and would recommend it.
Is this game at its core a 3D visual novel? Yes, but it’s one of the most interactive, non-boring, fully voiced, and interesting ones I’ve come across. I love reading, but VNs are typically so boring to me and stale. There’s an infinite number of better graphic novels out there than 95% of VN slop. VN nerds are just upset that this game is aware of itself, plays on its comedic value in said awareness, and decided not to be something it never set out to be.

I was following Subverse from way back before it came out. I was excited about it, a high-quality game by studio FOW, who made high quality (albeit often too kinky for my tastes) videos. But I have some big complaints. This game IS kind of impressive, it's done a lot that most porn games don't which is actually build a... HALFway decent game onto the porn. But the problem is, a lot of other porn games are doing more with less.
This game is long, grindy, and every part of it is mediocre because the effort is spread too thin. I don't care about the "funny" story, the "meh" gameplay, and worst of all, the sex scenes themselves, well they just don't hold up.
They're all just fixed camera, looping animations (minus a few special ones). They're stiff, not very sexy, most of them aren't enthusiastic enough, and only a few let you even control the speed. Plus, there's smaller things like really shallow thrusting, dry privates, and a plasticky texture over his dong, or angles that don't let you see their crotch where the action's happening. The animations don't even come close to living up to the quality of FOW's other work (except for the 1 cinematic scene per character, but they still only come close, and are clunky to access, can't rewind)
Also the interface for accessing the scenes is clunky.
All put together, it's an interesting achievement, but every single facet of this game is something that you can find better somewhere else. If they'd put twice as much effort and quality control into the sex stuff and half as much effort into making a mediocre game around it, maybe it would be worth more than a novelty piece of sex-game history. In two years, it will be easily surpassed by other similar games that do things better.

I’ve put a fair few hours into Subverse now and just finished the main story. At its core, it’s a visual novel with two rotating gameplay loops: a space combat mode and a ground-based, chess-like strategy mode.
The story is decent, though it does drag in places. The humour is very much a “you’re either in or you’re out” situation - the first ten minutes sets the tone, so if you don't enjoy that then you might as well call it quits.
Where the game really shines is in its characters and presentation. The cast is memorable, the animations are lively and varied, and the voice acting is genuinely excellent.
Unfortunately, it’s dragged down by how repetitive it gets. Grinding “devotion” with characters turns into a loop of replaying those same two game modes again and again and again, until it starts to feel like busywork rather than progression.
Overall, there’s a good game here, but you’ll need a decent tolerance for repetition to see the best of it.
i would actually prefer to recommend this, but at this price with no UI scaling and controller support.. the experience is just horrid.
i've been following the development since day one, and the lack of support for steamdeck in 2026 is just sad.
I came for the “plot.”
Stayed for the… actually, yeah, still the plot. Very deep plot. Extremely… well-developed characters. Truly groundbreaking physics engine especially in areas science has been too afraid to explore.
Gameplay? Surprisingly legit. It’s like someone took a space RPG, sprinkled in strategy combat, then said, “You know what this needs? Chaos. And also… culture.” And somehow it works.
The crew? A group of companions who all clearly went through years of… intensive personality training. Every interaction feels like it’s one HR complaint away from disaster, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Combat is fun, ship battles are solid, and the dialogue? Let’s just say if sarcasm were currency, this game could fund a small galaxy.
Final verdict:
10/10 would absolutely “focus on the story” again.

The writing was way better than I expected! Great story, characters were awesome, and the jokes were good.
Visuals were awesome. Character design was great, sex scenes were well done and easy to reenter, and a good number of cinema pieces throughout the game.
Audio was dope. Great voice acting and a good sound track.
Cons-
The gameplay is solid with a grid combat mode and an astroids like shooter mode, but how many times you have to play these two modes can be painful.

Так ещё разработчик очень, ОЧЕНЬ долго выполняют свои обещания, правят косяки и внедряют локализацию, которую обещали ещё очень давно (со времён Kickstarter). Догадываюсь что тут по большей части воля издателя, который чихать хотел на региональные цены.
Фиг знает что мне делать с этой игрой. Лежит в библиотеке и каждый раз когда я на неё смотрю, то задаюсь вопросом: зачем я это купил? Да я хотел тогда поддержать разрабов в их смелом стремлении сделать крутую H-игру. Но этого не случилось и это прискорбно. И так каждый раз.

I think this game is awesome. I don't know where the negative reviews are coming from. I would love it if there were even better examples out there, but I don't think I see anything really similar in the genre on here.
"So, what's the big deal perv? I'm stretching my shorts over here!", you say. And I know the answer is going to blow your mind, because its such a crazy concept, but here it is (so revolutionary):
It's an actual game, that you actually play. There's turn-based team battles (think FF7. I'm old, ok?), there's an arcade-style shooter, with a ship that levels up a few basic (but noticeable) attributes as you progress through the different stages of the game.
The story is rich and works on a cutscene-to-cutscene level, as where as what feels like a very large overarching tale experienced in this game (which in turn easily seems like it could be revealed that this whole game story is one slice of an even more epic picture unfolding over dozens of thousands of millennia and spanning a hundred galaxies, and i'd be like, "...Oh, well yeah, i can totally see that. Bring it.").
Which is where this game shines in an extremely pleasant and unexpected (when i first put it in the cart) way: From the characters, to the dialogue, to the lore (makes more than a nod to another certain, massive, "BattleMallet 50k" universe), its all witty, well-written, and hilarious (endearingly-crude?) in that kinda way where you become aware you're invested in a character or idea, but you don't remember consenting to paying in.

Oh yeah, and there's like sh*t tons of t*ts and *ss and s*x and p*ssy all involving your team of waifus who one-by-one c*m to follow (and fight beside, and f*ck) you on your journey (and they each appeal to some basic archetypical sex-object fetish/fantasy (while maintaining delightfully different personalities/strengths/weaknesses/preferences as individuals, which really keeps things interesting, sincere, and spicy), with sexual scenarios ranging from solo, one-on-one, and with probably at least one other/multiple members of the crew (and/or... eh........creatures, in some cases?) and... I think I'm out of writing juice, so.. there's just a bunch of different ways that this element is expressed as well, and I think its all just fantastic :)

It’s almost impossible to believe a game with such high production values is as bad as this is…or I should say unsexy. Multiple sexy games with farrrrrrrrr smaller budgets and productions values are ludicrously better than this game. I would wager the bulk of sex games are better then this. I heavily question whether these developers have ever played a sex game before, or a visual novel game, or even have had sex before. This is literally the least erotic sex game ever made.
First, this game is an obvious parody on Mass Effect. I have no problem with parodying literally the best scifi story ever told in videogames…but even a parody should be fun. I find it laughable that they are parodying a game that gives so much player choice and agency and this game has none…literally none. This is a straight linear story. It is a kinetic visual novel. You make no choices at all. You literally can’t even decide what female characters on your crew you have sex with. You have sex with all of them as part of the story. It shows a complete lack of understanding of the entire erotic visual novel genre and it’s laughable that a game based on Mass Effect would have no player choices.
Did it even occur to the developers that I wouldn’t want to have sex with all of these characters…that maybe I would actively dislike or be creeped out by some of these characters (Sova). Apparently not. At the very least any erotic visual novel should give the player the ability to decide what characters to have sex with, even if the game has no other choices. To not even let the character affect the story though…where the hell did all your money go? Voice acting? Congrats, your voice actors are really good…you know what I don’t need…to watch a linear porn video with no player agency. Do you know how much free porn exists on the internet…do you? The benefit of erotic visual novels is literally the fact players have agency and can construct a story with meaningful choices.
Second, if you are going to tell a humorous story…it better be funny. The jokes in this game are terrible. The characters are awful. They are all cringe. They break the 4th wall constantly, but it’s not funny. The humor is normally gross or degrading. It feels like what a teenager would make if they made a sex game. It reminds me of the early 2000’s sex cartoon “Tripping the Rift.” That was also terrible. It feels so similar that I have to assume the developers thought that show was a masterpiece. The fact that every character in this game is overly sexual…i…guess…is fine…but literally these characters have almost no personalities other than their desire to ♥♥♥♥. I’m not sure if any scene exists in the game without a character actively attempting to engage in sex with another character or at least talking about having sex with another character. It’s literally exhausting. This is a 30 hour game where it’s nonstop boring sexual jokes and humor. Their was a scifi show called Lexx years ago…sure had a lot of sex on that show, but the characters actually had desires other than sex and the humor was drastically better written then this game.
Third, the sex in this game is bad…really bad. Even if it was great I don’t think I could forgive the lack of player choice and agency…but my god…this is the most boring vanilla sex I’ve ever seen. Sure the production values are great. There are a lot of boring sex scenes for you to watch with all the characters. The developers have no understanding of eroticism or erotic art. The writing in the game is not erotic, it’s boring and dull. Writing and dialogue in a sex game need to also be erotic to help convey the tone of a scene. This writing feels like reading a textbook on sex, it is the least sexual of any writing or dialogue in any medium. Everyone of these sex scenes is the submissive female character getting railed…just over and over again. I’m not even sure I would describe it as maledom. These female characters are all submissive, but I wouldn’t call it bdsm sex. These characters all just engage in vanilla sex. You have a game with multiple female characters and yet everyone has the same sexual preference of being submissive and being just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over and over again with the biggest ♥♥♥♥ possible…for 30 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours. There are no strong female femdom characters that might have a female dominant relationship with the main character. The two characters that pretend they are (Kili and Blythe), only engage in submissive vanilla sex with the main character. Again though, their aren’t even submissive female characters that the main character can dominate. So hope you like vanilla sex.
The Best erotic visual novels will have multiple different options for sexual partners where each one has their own specific kinks and then on top of that choices that affect the direction of the story. This game they all have the same kink…to have sex with a big ♥♥♥♥ and that is it. It’s boring and pointless…again the internet exists…there is tons of free porn out there. Why would anyone buy this game? It is hilariously telling that the main character for the whole game wears a mask and hence can not engage in any oral sex with any female character in this game.
You literally made a sex game where the only interactive sex the male lead can have with a female character and the only way he can pleasure them is to ♥♥♥♥ them with his ♥♥♥♥…that basically tells me everything I need to know about the developers who made this game and who this game is made for.
No one should buy this game. It’s a waste of time and money. If you want a good overall erotic visual novel go play Seeds of Chaos. An erotic visual novel that actually has drastic player decisions and allows you to affect the entire direction of the story on top of who you have sex with and where you decide what the main characters kinks are. If you want a femdom one then try Queendom of Lithzena, again a sex game with actual player choices. The Survival of Sarah Rose a maledom focused sex game with a submissive female main character, again an excellent visual novel with extreme amounts of player choice. For a more humorous erotic sex game try Wet Sands, it’s pirate themed! It has less player choice when it comes to affecting the story as opposed to Seeds of Chaos, Survival of Sarah Rose, or Queendom, but at the very least it lets you decide who to romance! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS BORING VANILLA KINETIC VISUAL NOVEL (I did enjoy the space combat and ground combat, so goodjob whoever designed the only enjoyable part of the game and the great voice actors who all did a great job).
When they said this game was close to AAA level, I should have expected what I came to hate with AAA productions : a lazy plot you can see from miles away, characters you have little meaningful interaction with and endless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind mecanics, all covered up in decent visual effects
Add to that the enldless over the top sex jokes that get old real fast and you have subverse... I wish I hadn't bought this game, or wasted hours on it in the hope that something would emerge out of that

A great time. I laughed, I cried, i killed, and i enjoyed the most ridiculous, funny, and sexy story I have seen on any game of this genre. Best Adult themed game I have ever played. The writers had a lot of fun and put the time and effort into this game it needed to be this good. It has cutscenes, voiced dialogue, and a deeper story than I expected. The battles are fast, entertaining, and if you are ever stuck, it lets you skip it if you just can't beat it.
Love the game, highly entertaining. And as I mentioned, I played from stat to finish (excuse my broken kebyboard, i need to double/triple check every time i write something, seriously) and I had a lot of fun playing the game it. Kudoos to do the team behind that made it possible.
Just as a i side note: if you happen to know who I am and and the area I dvelve in and the number of business i helped in the AI Space, and maybe you might consider expending areas that may facilititates the creation of some content for your ongoing projects, don't hesitate to conatact send or me a message.
But entough with the selfish introductrion, I have played the game to stat to fisnish (not completionist, nut yet ;), and i fell off my chair a few times in laughter. This is a game definitely woth replaying and I hope 2026 will bring the team a new year filled with happiness and health, love and the power to keep pushing forward with developemnt.
Side note: my favoire parts of the gam are the spaceship flights and the "Heroes of Might and Magic" playthroughs.

I've been overall surprised.
I wouldn't particularly expect an adult game to work that well, visually and mechanically.
The animations of the characters themselves just as they're communicating makes them very believable, and fun to listen to as we're progressing through the story.
And the story, alongside the lore, is much bigger than I would've imagined.
The grid combat, space combat and infiltration levels are various enough that I didn't really get to feel much repetitivity.
And the different activities that we can do on the ship gives us a fair amount of content to explore.
A second game from Studio FOW in the future would be interesting to discover then, whether it would be in the Subverse universe, or else.
I wasn't on the kickstarter but I bought that game as soon as it came on steam. I won't deny that it has problems. I had to start over the game three time in total, the last time was because my save got wiped by the release of the 1.0. However it has never been a chore to redo it from scraps because I genuily love the story and the characters. The lore of the universe is as funny as it is well written and I played enough porn game to know that it is rare for that type of game to deliver something of higher quality than what a middle schooler can do.
But if the story is pretty cool the gameplay is lacking, it is divided between a shoot them up and a tactical. I don't have much experience with the genre of the first one so I can only say that it is better when it is shorter. I am more knowledgeable with the tactic genre and I warn you, this is not XCom. But the team picking can be pretty enjoyable even though it is all there is. Even thought it is not as good as the spear heads of the genre the story and the devotions quests don't require a lot of time playing. And the last thing
I had to that : it's still way above the average of porn game and no one buy those for the gameplay.
In the gooner department I can only say that it is a fine wine. The animations are very well made, all the waifus have a lot of scenes (around 20 to 40). With a lot of diversity and way more skins for each of them than necessary. And to top it of the voice acting is very good and that's another thing you won't find in a lot of porn games.
So if you ever wanted to walk in a Star Wars Cantina/Strip Club, recruit every girls in there and mount up a revolution to defeat the Empire Cockblocker with a Deadpool/Han Solo as a protagonist you'll be at home. But if you are looking for deep tactical game in space I'll say you need to keep searching.
NB: do not do what I did, don't complete the game 100%. It is not worth it if you don't apreciate the gameplay. If you want more do the side quests and then you'll know if it is for you, if not you'll end up resenting the game. I normaly never evaluate games but I saw a lot of bad comments for something that do not deserve them. It is a game that tries in a genre where slops is common and accepted, so give it a chance. It is probably the only porn game that deserves it.

I've been reading some of the reviews on this game, and it seems many of them come from people who were supporting this game while in development and are very frustrated with some of the changes made over the course of development. Is it possible there used to be extra layers of gameplay that made the non-adult content more appealing? Entirely possible, but this is a review from someone who's played a lot of adult games and just bought this game at random.
THE PROS:
1: Pretty cool setting. Subverse takes you to another dimension, well into the future. You're the captain of a ship, and the goal is to free the world from the grip of a puritan, authoritarian and corrupt empire secretly led by a powerful alien race.
The game's lore is surprinsingly rich, with different alien races, lots of background events, and several layers of political intrigues.
The game also wears all of its inspirations on its sleeves. The humans for instance, called Solars, arrived in the galaxy from prison ships that got sucked into a blackhole, which is very reminiscent of the Terrans in Starcraft. The overall tone ranging from satire and 4th wall breaking is reminiscent of Borderlands and such. And you'll find tons of pop culture references.
2: Compelling characters and story. The waifus feel fairly authentic in terms of character motivations and how they interact with each other. The cast is surprisingly large, but generally memorable. The voice acting is pretty good too. The story follows well, is decently paced, and overall pretty funny and entertaining.
3: Lots of gameplay elements. to progress with the rebellion, most of the game is spent going from one system to the next to recruit warriors and other specialists, all of which are depraved waifus. There is also a lot of side content, with the game having you explore multiple Nebulas, all of which with dozens galaxies featuring planets, space stations and other anomalies to explore.
Your ship also gets multiple upgrades as you progress in the game. There's lots of collectibles, and lots of leveling for your waifus, which in of itself unlocks more stuff.
4: The adult scenes. They're overall very realistic, and there is a lot a variety within the Pandora feature, which is like a collection of scenes that you unlock using "Pandora Points" from exploring the galaxy. And there's about as much variety as you can hope to get; waifus can have fun with you, or by themselves, or with other crew members (even turning into Futanari at will), and for the depraved, with the "Mantics", which are the mutants created by the ship's scientist as foot soldiers for combat missions. So in this category you'll get everything to do with tentacles, goblins and giant monsters and stuff. Between that and the diversity of the waifus ranging from humans to elves to demon and cat girls, the scenes basically offer everything.
THE CONS
1: Very grindy side missions. I did mention that the game offers a lot of variety, but this variety is also often poorly fleshed out. Outside of the main story, all side missions are done via exploration, and even then, there are only really 4 types of missions: Ground combat, space combat, Waifu missions (forgot the actual name), and side quests.
Ground combat is your average turn-based combat, with rounds, reinforcements, and moving your units around the tiles. With each mission, you pick a waifu, all of which have their own distinct strategies and weapons, along with 3 mantics, all of which offer the same. There's the bones of a good turn-based game here, but it often lacks any serious depth. For one, there's no real progression tree; enemies are just as challenging (they aren't) from the beginning to the end of the game, with the difficulty curve matching your own level. Mantics and waifus aren't inherently stronger as you unlock them, they just offer different tactics, but as enemies rarely last more than 2 hits, these cool new moves rarely get to be used at all.
Space combat is when you take your figher, the "F3NIX", and go out into space to fight other ships. It very much feels like your average space invader game, which isn't a bad thing. The gameplay feels very smooth, the music is awesome, and I love the effects of ships blowing up and flying out of orbit. The main change from ground combat is which Waifu you take as a co-pilot, as they all have a unique special attack. Again, none are stronger, it just comes down to preferences in playing style. Not as grindy as ground combat,
Waifu quests are like encounters where you can send a Waifu to investigate a situation, the latter requiring different personality traits to succeed. This is by far the best mission because it's the quickest; it can be resolvedi in just a few seconds.
Side quests are litterally just ground or space combat, but you get to watch a cut scene first of someone explaining to you what they need, and they occasionnaly have a few more rewards. At best they are funny, at worst you can litterally just skip the cutscene to get the mission done, and that's that.
Now the real problem, apart from the gameplay not being that great, is that there are A LOT of planets, litteral hundreds. And you can't really tell which is going to give you critical upgrades as rewards, and doing all of them can take several hours. It's just not that entertaining, you're only really doing it for the completionist aspect, to unlock all of the scenes. On that the game falls noticeably short, even if the underlying approach is a solid one.
2: Poor balance between adult content and everything else.
By its design, the game really struggles to implement both elements into the experience. Outside of the Pandora feature which allows you to explore scenes and customize them, there are hardly any scenes anywhere at all. The game mostly works as follows; you play the story, which means going to the planets that specifically advance the story to begin what the game calls "long ass chain quests". Each of these take 1-2 hours to complete and mostly comprise of dialogue cutscenes, and occasional ground and space combat, although these are usually better fleshed out as they put you in carefully crafted situations. At the end of the quest chain, you get a new recruit, and it finishes with you playing one of their scenes, which unlocks the new waifu inside Pandora.
Then you can either go back to exploring for 1 to 2 hours to get Pandora points to unlock more scenes, or get on with the next quest chain to unlock the next waifu, which will take another 1-2 hours with only 1 scene at the end, and so on. So either you focus on making game progress, or you enjoy the scenes. The scenes are great but the content is wildly disproportionate, easily 20 minutes spent on regular game for every minute in Pandora. Don't get me wrong, I love working to earn the scenes, and the scenes themselves are great, but there are limits. I found myself playing several sessions without ever getting to Pandora, merely thinking I'll progress the story and exploration, and then later go for Pandora when I can unlock lots of stuff. That's just poor balance for an adult game.
CONCLUSION
Very solid game overall, certainly by adult game standards. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the scenes. The side content is a bit rough around the edges and grindy, but it still made for a good experience. Game on sale is totally worth it.
Just one serious complaint (SPOILERS)
As others have pointed out, Celestina not being the last Waifu is a joke. We get to see her grow and change throughout the story, it would've been the perfect cucking of Erark, and instead it was a last minute addon of a succubus that had nothing to do with the main story? Seriously? And then they released a DLC to get Celestina, meaning having to pay extra to get her. Utterly ridiculous. This is the one really bad thing the game did that actually got me frustrated.

C'est un jeu OK tiers,
Un scénario assez basique, ce n'est pas mauvais mais c'est passable,
Les missions sont réparties sur plusieurs jeu différent,
Tour par tour sur des cases et enfin un style arcade à l'ancien temps où votre vaisseau doit tirer sur les autres.
Je pense que la majorité des joueurs sur ce jeu, ne joue pas sur la richesse du scénario, mais plutôt sur un plaisir très masculin.
Les animations sont faites.

Про эту игру можно сказать многое хорошее и плохое. Она имеет и минусы и плюсы. Но лично для меня здесь больше плюсов. Сам сюжет, его подача и постановка удивляет. Для порно игры с кикстартера просто феерически - достойный уровень. Прекрасные персонажи со своими глубокими историями и взаимодействиями, развитие основного сюжета, параллельно с второстепенными квестами и миссиями на преданность. Это всё удалось сделать достаточно приятно, качественно. Все сцены и диалоги заставляют погружаться в эту историю.
Главный герой шикарен, внешний вид, его манера речи, поведение напоминает мне deadpool. Не только потому что он "вскрывает" ту самую стену между им и вами. Но и его поведением и выборами. Большая часть второстепенный квестов высмеивает многие проблемы, привычки и стереотипы. Другие квесты наоборот помогают задуматься о вещах. Это всё прекрасно украшает adult - контент. Очень круто что по мимо "пондоры" для коллекционирования сцен, нам предоставляют качественные ролики интима между персонажами. Нравится взаимодействие с кораблем и командой. Кастомизация, настройки, улучшения.
Да, обычный миссии скучны до тошноты, но терпимо. На мой взгляд разработчику удалось найти золотую середину между 5 минутными однообразными миссиями для гринда и классными сюжетными квестами. Ведь вторые более затянутые, компенсируют потраченное время на гринд. Можно спокойно посидеть и почитать диалоги.
У меня от этой игры не было больших ожиданий, но удивила она меня очень сильно. Последний раз я испытывал подобные эмоции только при прохождении CP2077 впервые.
Собственно затягивать не буду. На данный момент это лучший на планете порно проект с разнообразным игровым контентом и механиками.

this is a very good game let me preface this with that, the space shooter sections are pretty fun along with the turn based ground combat and the sex scenes are rendered beautifully, however there a LONG ASS GRIND into the late game, with each sector having almost a hundred missions EACH sure you don't have to do them but If you don't you'll miss out on a significant amount of the sex scenes audios, gallery poses and literally everything else, this game is beautiful don't get me wrong, the story is very engaging every model and asset looks stunning, the dialogue is pretty funny with full voice acting in everything, but the grind is so long and soulless that it almost sucks all the fun out of the combat sections, I haven't counted but if I had to guess there are over 500+ planets, ships, and stations to visit which in most contexts is a good thing but it means that you'll be on this game just grinding for at least LEAST 15 hours, and the story has taken close to the same amount of time for me also this games price is a little steep yes but the scenes and early to mid game are so good that I find it very worth it, but wait for a sale, on the big sales its usually 60-50% off which is a much easier pill to swallow

I wish I could leave a neutral review, but it was meh. I hate the personality of the characters, but I can tell that a bit of effort went into the game. Let me know when "futa on female" implies a phallus owning femme protagonist. I'd rather play her than a bumbling Deadpool ripoff.

Да и на хоть какую-то локализацию разрабам почему-то пoxyй, причём не только русскую. При ценнике то в 3к за индюшку-порнушку. Даже всякие недоигры на RPG Maker могут позволить себе корявенький авто-перевод, а вы почему-то нет.
A spaceship shootem-up was bad, then we get a visual novel that looks terrible, also whats with that 1990s UI? Writing is just braindead. Then turn-based combat part came up and it was boring, almost no animation during combat and camera is so far away it just ends up looking like I'm wathcing at a picture of plastic figurines on the floor.
Esentially the game just throws awful minigames with some of the worst presentation at you and it costs almost 40? What? I got it with a 65% discount and even with a discounted price this is just not worth it. Watched just one poorly animated scene and it was underwhelming, zero interactivity slider with "♥♥♥" button? That was an awful way to show off what you're offering with this game. I would probably get bored and dropped this game even if it was free. Definitely a refund.
How this got any hype around it when it first cameout is a mystery to me.

First of all, due to its status as a hentai game, I'd put it neutral if I could, because as a hentai game, it reaches its primary goal, but since you have to chose and it's a game, and it's marketed as being more than just a simple hentai game with its higher price, I don't recommend buying the game.
Sex scenes are great. Main story is fine. Side stories range from bad or uninteresting to cringe. Preachism is garbage. Woke ♥♥♥♥ is garbage. But worst of all, what the ♥♥♥♥ did they smoke when they made the later levels for space stages? Filling the entire screen with big ships that fires missiles with retarded hitboxes for the explosive ones, making sure you can never get back your shield? I'd rather have had no option to skip those levels and actually having devs who had tested their garbage and beaten it before allowing it to be played, because you want to uninstall real life after finishing some of those ridiculous unfun levels. At some angles, you will suffer even touching the freaking mosquito-like enemies zapping around while your missiles never touch anything if you don't play a character with either large or homing ones, and even then it's special missiles, meaning there's a CD, and you can get overwhelmed in the meantime.
I'm glad I got it at a 65% discount, because it's a terrible ripoff at the real price. The ground levels are ridiculously small and limited, and you can almost never use your abilities before the enemies are dead, meaning they're all monotonous and boring even if simple. Space combat was great at first, but then some levels later on are seemingly made impossible or borderline impossible, with BS hitboxes and a ridiculous amount of bullets and enemies, forcing you to rely on a bit of RNG as enemies can spawn anywhere in mass, despite the clues. And you DON'T have the hitbox of a schmup for your ship, your hitbox is the entire ship, which means you'll cough blood finishing some levels.
It achieves its goal as a hentai game, but it's overpriced, so I can't recommend it. Everything surrounding sex is nice, but the rest really leaves to be desired gameplay-wise. If it's at 10 bucks, maybe, but never, ever buy that ♥♥♥♥ full price. I thought I'd give this a positive review because the beginning is quite nice and again, sex scenes are well done, the artstyle is fine, multiple fetishes, but the gameplay-part will piss you off if you want to finish the game legit without skipping parts of it. They seemingly didn't test it enough, and got lazy at some point, and you can feel it. I'll keep playing it for a while, maybe finishing it for the sake of unlocking everything for every girl, but don't bother trying to finish the difficult levels through sheer will like I did and completing everything, because otherwise the horrible game design flaws will enrage you at the devs on those specific clearly untested levels. Don't bother and skip the failed levels the devs were too lazy to fix or test themselves, if you buy and play this game for the sex scenes. You've been warned.
EDIT: The stealth missions are pure cancer incarnate. You have to do it pixel perfect, complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And of course, the only white guy in the whole game we meet is an old corporate who wants to genocide aliens for profit. ♥♥♥♥ that game.

Subverse is actually really really good.
At the time of writing this I am in the middle of Act 3 and have unlocked 5 of the 10 girls. So opinions may change.
I bought the game on sale for like $14 and can say without a doubt it is worth at least $20.
I've seen stuff about the devs butchering the game so I can only imagine how good this game COULD have been with all the cut content/ lobotomized mechanics.
TLDR:
The game sports a full length AAA RPG story that is actually interesting, with an amazing cast of likeable (and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) characters. Gameplay is okay at best and not great at worst. A+ world building. Fun quippy writing with a lot of ♥♥♥♥ jokes and very crude humor along 4k hot alien sex scenes that will satisfy.
Buy it on sale, ♥♥♥ for the porn stay for the story and characters.
Actual gameplay is okay. 5/10
Arcade twin stick shooter is good. Its easy enough to start and then gains added difficulty later in the game.
Tactical turn based xcom levels suck. They feel slow, they feel bad, I'm also not an xcom fan, but if I was I bet this mode would feel even worse.

I did not expect to be this into a story for a pron game. The guy who said Subverse is a Shakespearean play was completely correct in every way. Find his review I cannot do it justice.
World building that would put some recent AAA RPGs to shame.

Characters have depth to them. Initially we see them as their token architype, but as you converse these characters show surprising depth, each with their own aspirations dreams and backstories.
I thought I was playing Subverse not BG3... why am I so invested lmao.

Okay for the spice.
Subverse has a lot of options for adult content. As you progress through the story you will recruit more girls and the more you level them up the more points you get to unlock scenes featuring them. In Act 2 you unlock the ability to change outfits the girls wear during these scenes so thats cool.
Additionally there is a photo mode if you're into taking some hot spicey pictures. Only complaint is I wish you could manually pose them and not be stuck with a long list of unlockable poses.
Subverse has a little of everything for mainstream kinks and fetishes. There are some missing but tbh I'm not into those and prefer they stay out. There is a free DLC for 4k movies which is a nice bonus.
This was written in a stream of consciousness, so deal with it.
The game has a good storyline for the most part, it has made me laugh a few times. The graphics are really good. The reactions from the characters in the storyline are cute. The ground battles are fun I hope as i progress further in the game they will get more challenging. I don't care for the Space battles that much at all. For the most part I skip them they are more of a pain in the ass and a waste of time. For the most part it's a fun game.

As adult games go, this is ok but not great. Scenes as are boring and poorly animated. The story is bad and the writing is god awful. It feels like they got a 12 year old that's just started puberty and has been told he can you any swear words he wants in the script. Which is every other word which isn't a joke about doing drugs or ♥♥♥♥ jokes. Voice acting is ok but hammed up to the max. The actual gameplay side of things is passable but I wouldn't call it fun. I forced myself to play for an hour and that was all I could take. I expected better from FOW studio and a bigger budget. Don't waste your money on this.
Aside from the repetitive gameplay surrounding Space combat simulation and Turn-based combat. It is great. One of the best porn game I ever download.

Just disappointed. Scenes, deleted, gameplay was simplified and pandora scenes are boring. Felt wrong that i was supporting since the kickstart and rewarded with core of the game removed cause someone was lazy\scried about the game. Now I just dont even want to touch it again. That feeling of betrayal is terrible. No more support for any studio.
The cutscenes and trailers made this out to be a decent high budget game. It is not.
The turn based combat is bad and boring. The stages are played out in ways, which bored me to frustration by the end of the tutorial. It feels like a mobile game, no animation for movement characters just teleport. The fights are hyper rudimentary.
The cutscenes are too long and suffer from the same thing as modern marvel movies too many people attempting one liners that are unearned and dull. The humor that boils down to people saying "penis", though that statement was probably funnier than any joke said in the game so far. But, hey if you liked that joke, strap in. Cause there is a LOT of it.
The reason why we are all here are good, but unearned. Just bought from a store. Zero context. Just "hey look, jiggling boobies!" Most of them only have rudimentary camera controls, and nothing else. Boiling down to pretty tame prerendered cutscenes. But hey! You can take these (completely disconnected) scenes and put them in a playlist. That sound fun, right?
The characters are pretty one note. Like, all of them are the same note and the note is "I'm Horny". It has the writing depth of an actual porno. Which would be fine if I didn't know I would be staying with these characters for more than an hour (with the wonky dialogue on skip). The voice acting varies, though a joke character seems to be the best acted. Whoever they got to play Tibold, kudos. Everyone else? meh.
I was trying to make a sh*t sandwich with this review. But, honestly? The only enjoyable part of the game was the ship combat. A decent twin stick-style shooter, with varying enemy ships and a modicum of strategy to them.
Ultimately, there are better games than this for literally everything this game offers. It feels like a mobile game that is being touted as a triple-A game. Other spicy games on Steam will give you the itch that this one does not. Just skip it.
Unfortunately, they ruined an otherwise cool game with the worst 2D space combat system in recent memory. As a lover of Star Control and other games in this vein, the system is so non-intuitive, I can only think it was devised to prove why 1-man turrets are a stupid idea. This makes winning space battles an annoying grind with no sense of accomplishment, with the alternative being to intentionally lose the battle, but you have to do this three times for every engagement.
Everything else in this game is great, the humor and storyline are engaging, and the ground combat is fine for what it is. Unfortunate that the space combat is both unbearable and unavoidable.
