Storyline

It took longer than it really should have but by 2050, humanity has finally colonized Mars. The leader of the effort is an entrepreneur named Jeff Murray. Rather than living on the surface of Mars, People have made their homes underground. The city and all its supporting facilities are buried deep down, safe from the inhospitable climate of the surface. Dr. West migrated to Mars recently at the personal invitation of Jeff Murray. Dr. West has been working on important research which he had hoped would lead to a cure for the Alzheimer's disease which has afflicted his wife. I really wanted to like this game, but it is just tedious and anti-exploration. You have 1 save slot and one auto-save slot. I had to restart my 2-hour playtime because it is not mentioned that the contamination slowly kills you, and the fast travel costs time, so I was constantly trying to find the next anti-pill and the next health pack until I ran out of health. So, new game: less exploration and go for the stuff directly so I can advance. It is not fun.

玩到一半實在受不了了，好幾個缺點讓這個遊戲不能推給任何一個想完整體驗這遊戲的人。:
1.非常孤單，只有文件描述劇情過程。像是塔科夫，有搜索後撤離，重量管理等等。但你是唯一的活人，沒有任呵其他NPC，只有怪物，這讓遊戲氣氛很壓抑。
2.遊戲過程非常重複，搜索探樓層，找電力，最主要是找科技防組裝飛船的科技。後面無意義的堆到一個區域10層樓，徒增遊戲時數。感染等級增加後，敵人的變化大多是血厚的怪越來越多。
3.武器系統的手感與音效都不好。這個看人，不是完全不能接受的那種，但就很單調，所有同一類型的武器都是同一個造型，衝鋒槍就是等級1、2、3、4.......，只是等級要自己在家研究解鎖，改槍系統也是配件都只有一種，只是等級不同。
4.毫無變化的關卡與區域設計，不同區域就只是升級設施的晶片不一樣。每一個區域都是同樣的怪物與樓層設計。
5.當探索兼恐怖生存遊戲，關卡設計不好；
當打殭屍遊戲，武器系統不好；
當養生遊戲，沒有種田與造景系統；
當塔防遊戲，防禦塔只能放衝鋒槍；

I wish I could enjoy it, it seems like it'd be a good time. It's just far too obtuse of an experience to properly enjoy. It seems like the keycards to actually get out of the tutorial don't always spawn, so you may just spend your first time wandering around the (very small) tutorial area until you die.

Задумка очень классная, но зачем так душить игрока в самом начале накидывая сразу все механики игры залпом? И реактор им почини, ресурсов добудь, баллонов насобирай и наполни, предметы создай, ключ карты найди итд, и приправлено все это ну очень мелким интерфейсом хоть с лупой сиди читай простыни текста. Надо постепенно механики игры раскрывать, а не в самом начале за раз все вываливать. За час игры голова вскипела. Не удивительно что только 60% процентов игроков прошли обучающий уровень.

И самое главное, ГГ хочет в туалет по большому, идем делаем свое дело, через две минуты он хочет по маленькому! А совместить два дела никак за раз нельзя было?! И делать это надо в строго отведенных местах!!! А не где попало, ведь Вексу плевать что там темнота, инфекция, монстры и каждая минута дорога, главное добежать до сортира во тьме. Ох уж эти тупые игровые условности=)))

Well, well, well. This game caught me completely off guard while I was just going through my games library, testing one game after another. It hooked me in and I had a great time exploring, crafting, beating mutants, and leveling. The story was also really nice for such a little gem. Once you understand the crafting and researching mechanics this game will really grow on you.

What I like: The dungeon type, research and produce is great. Also the gameplay, the Story absolutly etc.

What I would make a little diffrent: There are SOOO MANY loot containers and you cant take everything with you, but you need to look in every corder and container, as very important items are there, where is only 1 in the game per location (1-2 diffrent per location) which you need. They are not highlighted etc. Lootet container and unlootet container are no diffrence. You you dont know where to search and need to be very acribic. That is the only downpoint.

Its a hard game on every level, but increases drastically on normal and hardmore. Modding is possible. Then you can make it way easier.

This game has you walk around a place doing literally nothing but searching everything in sight, filling up your bag with useless junk. Sometimes the items aren't displayed when you search something. The animation for a drawer opening will occur, but the item box won't appear. So you have to close the drawer and open it again and it usually works on the second try.

Supposedly you can recycle all the junk for materials but I never encountered a way to do that, so I had to dump them all to pick up weapons. But I never encountered anything to use them on, so I may as well have dumped them too. I fought 2 enemies in my short time playing this.

The tutorials seemingly pop up at random, and aren't helpful in the moment. For example one randomly pops up telling you how to upgrade and craft weapons at a weapons table or something. Good to know, but it would have been better to let me know that when I found an actual table to do so, not at some random time. And they tell you about charging oxygen and temperature canisters before you get them.

There's repair tables too, but I don't get how they work. The tutorial didn't help, but going by the theme, I probably had nothing I could repair, even though I tried to repair something that had lower durability to test it out. I either have to sit around and wait for it to be repaired, or it can't be. Either way, it's dumb. Why can I put something on the table if it can't be repaired, and why would they make players wait for something to be repaired? Or why make it so confusing that it's not at all obvious what the answer is!!

Also the ui examples in the tutorials look rather different than the one in game, so that doesn't help.

Inventory is kind of organized, but it's annoying to use and unclear how or what can be equipped...sort of. It's hard to explain. I didn't like it though.

To progress, as far as I played, meant searching everything until I found a keycard that would unlock some more doors.

Eventually I made it out of the first area and reached a tram that could take me to way more areas than I would ever want to explore in this game...but only one was accessible. So I go there, search a bunch of stuff, encounter several locked doors that require keycards. I can't find these cards. I searched everything twice.

I'm stuck. I'm bored, and this game is not good. I could look up a walkthrough maybe, but why? It's not fun, so why put myself through it?

If they made it less tedious and cryptic it would be fine.

A really good game, once you understand the mechanics you're good; just don't give up if you seem overwhelmed the first time you have to deal with all the research / production, including all the menaces.
There is a ton of quick good guides on steam if it's too difficult for you.

The story is well made, you want to know what's really going on and escape, or at least try to.
The mixed dark ambiance and pressure with contamination, battery, oxygen, thermal generators and reactor cores is superb, you'll feel stressed, on the rush, sometimes desperate with resources, but just don't waste, recycle as much as possible and reuse.

For a good start, max your oxygen and thermal protection, battery, backpack and gun, you can then make longer runs and waste less resources (one go from floor 1-5 than back home drop the loot and keep running to floor 10).
Also, always try to discover all the oxygen / thermal rooms, you'll need it for an easier endgame.

The final bosses (some people are complaining about them) aren't that hard, but be prepared enough with :
- A maxed gun or sub
- A maxed shotgun
- A plasma gun (mine was only lvl2 but far enough with a good heatsink)
- At least 40 grenades (enough to destroy the needed parts)
- 5 medikits
- 5 windtoid XL

Now it's time to enjoy "Subterrain: Mines of Titan" and expect Subterrain 2 someday :)

Loved the opening hours but eventually hit a wall where progression stopped being fun and became more tedious.

There is an absolute gem of a game here hidden under a few poor design decisions. I recommend heeding the warning of the negative reviews that detail this.

Yet, still I recommend giving it a try. The atmosphere and overall gameplay loop for those first few hours is just so darn appealing it's worth seeing if the entire game is for you.

Un juego que tiene su encanto, pero que lo arrastra por el piso al hacerse tan, tan sumamente pesado. Encarnamos al último hombre en Marte, durante el brote de un patógeno desconocido... Premisa sólida, y dura más o menos hasta la primera exploración: El juego tiene dieciséis sectores explorables, tristemente generados de manera aleatoria. En estos sectores encontraremos recursos y, más importantemente, chips de Software, que permiten fabricar mejor equipamiento (y son necesarios para progresar hacia los finales del juego), por lo que no son opcionales. El problema llega cuando esto interactúa con las mecánicas de supervivencia del juego:

-Salud
-Contaminación
-Sed
-Hambre
-Defecación
-Orina

Por si esto no fuera suficiente, cada sector (de los dieciséis que hay) tiene un contador de infección, que refleja la cantidad de enemigos y la dificultad de los mismos, que a su vez suma a un contador global que simboliza la dificultad del juego... Estos contadores escalan demasiado rápido, el juego tiene un problema de dificultad en el que es demasiado fácil en normal y demasiado difícil en hardcore y pesadilla.

El combate, que es el corazón del juego, es muy repetitivo: Hay solo cuatro armas (pistola, escopeta, ametralladora, lanzador de plasma), y todas se solapan. Las mejoras que adquirimos de las mismas son muy incrementales, y realmente no cambian nada sobre el juego, cosa que refleja el espíritu del juego: Es un juego incremental sin automatización, pesado y desgastante.

Me divertí, pero nunca alcancé el final. Solo puedo decir que vale la pena en descuentos profundos, y para gente que disfrute el grindeo.

你叫韦斯特，精确地说是韦斯特博士。你被一个大老板邀请到火星的基地上去做实验，你玩脱了(事实上是别人拿你的研究成果玩脱了)。所有人不是逃走了就是变成了怪物，而你却因为被抓起来而幸运地逃过一劫，好吧现在怎么办？这个破地方就你还活着，没人想死对吧，那么故事也就从此开始了。
我究竟能不能逃离这里
在你准备离开之前，你发现这个地方所有的科技啊，电力系统啊，反应堆都被某个人故意调成了最低。这就直接引出了你要去到处找芯片的理由（没有芯片你就没有科技）。而且你还得睡觉喝水吃东西，这些我都能，但我觉得需要排泄感觉好奇怪，明明憋不住了却没有什么副反应（或者说是作用太小我看不见？）
回到正题，地图都是随机的，而且说实话，东西都很小，有些时候容易遗漏东西，这就有问题了，当你遗漏重要的东西时，你会很难再去发现或者找到它，因为它太小了。
当你小心翼翼并且做完了一切的工作，当你发射飞船时，接下来的故事会让你心碎，我已经被打击过了，所以希望你们也能在游戏中体验一下孤注一掷后换来这种东西的痛苦。
这场旅行究竟值不值
游戏给人的感觉还是挺好的，气氛挺压抑的，而且随机的地图和有限的补给（这里指你的温度、电池、氧气）让你不得不快速做出选择，在这里多走一步是危险也是机会。

"walking backwards while you shoot green peas out of your gun, the simulator"

This game is a bullet sponge. It was designed that way, i did not know this when i bought it, and i HATE bullet sponge games. See that hallway 500 yards back? you're going to become very familiar with it, because everyone you see 1-2 enemies, you're going to be walking backwards, while your gun takes as many days to kill them as whoopie goldberge from the view drops victim cards like it's a competition. playing on the difficulty that i think the game was designed around - "hardcore".

I tried normal as a result, and there are things in the game that make me think "normal" isn't what the game was designed around. so you end up feeling like your hand is being held. went back to hardcore...and even with EndGame weapons i still have to play "walking backwards, the game" with those the moment 3+ enemies show up. the time to kill is ahh.

then there's the research. there's only 1 way to reliably and easily "speed up" the research, and that's to sit in a chair. but it's SLOW. you can "sleep" which is much faster, but you can only sleep for so long before the game says you're too awake to do that. i had to find other things to do irl for long periods of time just waiting for research. it needs it's time cut in half, or at the very least the chairs need to speed time up as much as sleeping does.

everything else about the game is ok though, which is why this makes me so mad. everything to make it cool was RIGHT THERE, already in the game - but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it with horrible grindy ass decisions. the time to kill needs to be lower, and research needs to be cut in half.

the guns: aside from the time to kill - the guns overlap each other too much. the pistol later on is a good sniper rifle, but until endgame the machinegun and shotgun are trash. even at endgame the shotgun is Always trash because it's TOK for some reason is not faster than the other guns. the machine has a horrible TOK as well. infact in the low to near end game, all 3 guns have the same time to kill. at endgame, the shotgun is still ahh with it's TOK but the pistol feels great when it crits...but on hardcore still fails to kill some trash mobs. the machinegun though FINALLY is worth it and fun, but overheats with just 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemeis out of 50 on the screen.

so basically, do NOT buy this game unless you enjoy long wait times - both in combat and outside.

This is a mixed review.

Normally I "round up" recommendations for mixed reviews, but this game is very special, in a negative sense, and so I give it special treatment. Here's why.

This is the first "zombie" survival horror game to have [i]ever[/i] given me an actual anxiety attack - and I've played quite a few. I commend it for doing that, for obvious reasons. However, the reason this game is so anxiety inducing is because its [i]entire design[/i] is based around timers and counters - you'll have:

In case it's not clear, all these timers and counters are consciously mentioned, not for [i]gish galloping[/i] you into thinking the game is overwhelmingly complex, but because they are indeed all directly tied to your survival. If you sit by, time passes (as time does), the timers tick, and the game becomes emboldened; global "infection" spreads and challenges will snowball into nigh impossible odds. You starve, or you get constipated and your character gets sick and you get negative health regeneration (aka death over time), your base gets invaded, your generator explodes. You get one save slot and an autosave slot. You can easily soft lock by messing up your time management - which should be constant.

[h1] The selling point [/h1]

This all combined with how massive the game [i]wishes[/i] to be is a unique take on horror - as you have to effectively find needles in the haystack while managing the timers. The gameplay loop involves random placement of key items, data research chips, in each of the 15 procedurally generated regions. The regions are initially unpowered and their oxygen and thermal control systems are damaged. Most regions have 5 to 10 floors which are composed of many random rooms that must be individually checked and cleared for these key items and life support systems.

[i]As you're juggling all these timers, and trying to perform CQC room clearing against fast leaping zombies which become stronger and more numerous over time, you are bound to make mistakes. You start rushing, going down seemingly endless sets of stairs in pitch black darkness looking for the key items that will grant you your escape, and the life support rooms to keep you alive. If you manage to not be suddenly grabbed in place and torn to shreds, [b]you'll get scraped instead, and become contaminated indeterminately[/b]. Now your problems multiplied and you're on another timer for death until you decontaminate with the use of specific, expensive to produce medication, which will also take time to scrounge ingredients for.[/i]

Having fun yet? I would love to recommend the game. The type of fear it induces is unique, the graphics are quite smooth, and so is movement and combat mechanics. What's the problem?

[h1] The Dealbreaker [/h1]

Unfortunately as mentioned earlier, the game merely [i]wishes[/i] it was massive. It's not a massive game - its effective content should be about an afternoon. Go in, find stuff while fighting, come back to base until you get all you need to escape. However it was mathematically designed to be obscenely long due to item production and item research timers.

[i]To get advanced materials you need to find these data chips, research the blueprint off the chips which is done in real time and can take up to half an hour, produce the research upgrade, physically go to a room to install the upgrade. After that, you can queue the raw material, and wait more time. After that, you can queue to refine the material, and wait more time. After that, you can queue the production of the item you want, and wait more time. Then you take that item you just produced and put it in the research machine [b]again[/b] so you can get the next sidegraded version of that item. [b]Repeat this not ironically 40 times[/b].[/i]

You'd think [i]"wow that must be optional completionist stuff"[/i]. [spoiler]It's not. The game largely does not have such concept, you need to clear everything. You need to fix everything. You need to salvage as much as possible so you can afford the mathematically inflated gameplay loop it decided to offer.[/spoiler]. The weapon variety is minuscule, focusing on half hearted sidegrades. The lore tidbits and logs are extremely rare. Effectively, over 90% of the game is chaff.

In truth, this game long seduced me with an interesting demo. It then proceeded to bury all its potential in the subterrain, with a fetish for having the player repeat their actions for a week on the clock with little to pay them back for it (you'll most likely take ~40 hours to beat this, if you rush). Unsatisfied with its chronological torture, [spoiler]it likes to pretend the player completed the game then reveals they never did[/spoiler]. [b]An insane rate of 3% of global owners of this niche game reaching the ending, [i]on even the lowest difficulty[/i], showcases how torturous it is[/b]. It does not improve at any point. A massage turns into a backbreaker with no happy ending.

[h1]TL;DR[/h1]
Switcharoo game from an era where time spent was equated to time enjoyed. It seduces you with some interesting mechanics and setting but ultimately provokes you to massively waste your time with a nothingburger gameplay loop. From the 40 hours it may take for you to beat it on the Normal difficulty, if it were better designed, it would have reasonably ended at 4 hours instead.

You'll certainly crap yourself playing it, it is tailored to make you nervous in one way or another no matter what you do or what you've been through. If you don't mind leaving games unfinished after experiencing their main concept, give this a shot[/b].

Do not go digging after this game hoping you can beat it. Any victory you think you may achieve will be pyrrhic at best. When you finally get to it, you'll have already spent all your time counting how many feet under you've gotten yourself into the subterrain alongside this game's stretched thin, beaten horse of a corpse; and you're never getting any of it back. That's the true horror right there.

For all its ambition, Subterrain stumbles in ways that can test patience. The user interface is clunky and often feels like it's fighting against you. Managing your inventory, crafting, recycling, and researching takes up a huge chunk of time—and not in a rewarding way. It’s hard to shake the feeling that some of the systems could be streamlined without losing the challenge.

Combat is another rough edge. While it's serviceable, it lacks finesse. Gunplay feels floaty, and enemy AI often behaves more like a nuisance than a true threat. Boss fights are underwhelming, occasionally reduced to frustrating bullet sponges rather than climactic encounters. The visuals also won't win any awards, with dated character sprites and environments that start to blur together over long sessions.

Then there's the pacing. The early hours are brutally slow, and some might check out before the systems start to click. It's a game that demands time and attention, and in return, it gives anxiety, repetition, and a sense of being constantly behind the curve.

Controller functionality no longer works. Holding the movement or camera controls in a cardinal direction has a 80% chance to work per tick. Trying to move or look in any diagonal direction has a 10% chance to work per tick, resulting in excessive stutter-stepping and generally being unable to interact with anything in a reasonable timeframe. Disable your controller or your chance of completing this game will be near zero.

As it is, your chance of completing this game is pretty low as it is. Check the bug reports for this game- You'll see a lot of people reporting that the final boss disables most of their inventory items at random, with no real way to get around it. Bug reports that were never addressed and likely still exists as a problem.

Интересный опыт. По сути, это - песочница с сюжетными элементами, но с чем-то вроде мягкого таймера, в виде механики эволюции врагов, за которой нужно поспевать, иначе будет очень больно, с чем в первое прохождение наверное сталкивалось большинство. Забрасывал игру целых два раза, но на третий раз прошёл залпом, остался более чем доволен. Последний босс довольно брутален, до него игра не подкидывает ничего даже близко похожего.

It's a fairly big game, and there's a fair number of things that repeat themselves just to make the game seem bigger. That said; it's disciplined in it's approach. In less than eighty hours; I beat it on the second hardest difficulty (which is really the normal difficulty). For comparison's sake; I have sunk hundreds of hours in to some open world games and have not completed the story.

That's just it; there's a story here. Even just fooling around is advancing the plot. There are no "radiant quests" there are no fishing mini-games. It's just the plot and game-play flows along with that, rather than adding a bunch of filler that doesn't advance the plot. Speaking of plot. The whole "people talking about everything they're doing in to a recorder" is here, but as unrealistic as it is, it works as a "trail of breadcrumbs".

I did consult some information sources online for this game. I did this mostly because necessary upgrade items are scattered throughout the game and the game would have been a lot longer if I had to search every single area to find them, but if you pay attention the game does a pretty good job of telling you where to look for at least the early upgrade items.

It is a bit grindy, to be sure. You will revisit areas you've already been to, defend your base against waves of enemies several times, but it does end.

All in all it's a good game if you've got the time to get in to it.

Powiem tak, bardzo dobrze się grało!

Gierka typu survival z elementami horroru. Jest trochę crafcenia, zbierania surowców, badania technologii. Fani tego typu gier powinni być zadowoleni!
Bardzo ciekawa fabuła chociaż momentami brakowało mi dźwięku do znajdowanych kolejnych zapisów rozmów.
Trudność rozgrywki na poziomie normal powiedziałbym, że jak się dobrze technologię i materiały ogarnęło to zabijanie mobków było w miarę easy nawet utrzymując dobry poziom mocy reaktora. Ale chwila nieuwagi kosztowała mnie w tej grze wiele zgonów, także za łatwo też nie było!
Natomiast porównując walki z ostatnimi bossami to szczerze znienawidziłem deweloperów za to, tam nagle poziom trudności wypierdziela poza skalę. Już nie licząc zacinającą się broń w ostatnim pomieszczeniu, taki bug przy walce z bossem to naprawdę, parę klątw poleciało... Męczyłem się może z 8 godzin nad ostatnimi walkami ale w końcu się udało

In spite of the fact I'm still actively playing the game, at least for a bit yet, I can't recommend it to new players.

Contamination soured the mid-game for me. It's a measure, from 0 to 100, of the main character's contamination from the environment, given by an ambiguous orb in the bottom left. This value grows at a rate proportionate to the current contamination level, and at a certain point, causes HP drain. Getting hit raises it, and the only way to lower it is decontamination pills, which come at a steep resource cost.

You can easily end your run if you save while contaminated. After spending a while living on med packs while I farmed resources for MULTIPLE decontamination pills -- because you need like 3 if you're badly contaminated -- unfortunately just created a save-scum play style.

Death after 5+ hours to contamination results in rage quits, doubtless based on achievement rates. Lowering the resource requirement from 50 to 35 would keep more players engaged in the game and make many of the other medical resources more fun to use, because you'd actually not be afraid to take some hits and heal up proper.

So why is this a downvote? Wtf? Well lemme get into it.

This game is EXTREMELY grindy. As in, grind and wait heaven. As in, if you dont min max, you done ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. The problem you have with this game as you start playing it, is that you wont really know that until its far too late.

Here is one of the major issues this game has: Progression. Or rather, locking off said progression behind exploration. Wait, hold on whats the problem with that? That makes no sense. Thats what you would want right? Weeeeeeell...

Do you like RNG? Do you like every single run of yours to be different? Yea? Cool. You will hate that here. The upgrades you REQUIRE for progression can only be found in obviously new locations. Here is the problem with that. These new locations apart from the first floor are A. Randomized and B. Randomized by floor. Meaning that past the first floor all bets are off. Need a specific research upgrade from Viking Plaza? Better hope its on floor 1 and not floor 5 cause it can also be on every single one inbetween. And better yet, if you are at least a few days ingame into the run, that place is not just crawling with mutants but also crawling with stuff that will kill you quicker than you can percieve.

You have to hope that a REQUIRED upgrade is on a good floor if you dont wanna suffer. Now the thing is, exploring the places till you get the goodie is still fun. The problem is that its also quite deadly if you dont watch your ass almost 24/7. You can get rooms that are tiny that hold up to 7 enemies. You can get giant rooms that can hold up to 20. And honestly, this is great! Its not even a downside for the experience! But this is where the min max aspect comes in! If you havent done it till now, get ♥♥♥♥♥♥! Cause you aint getting past this!

There are no skill trees. There is no "upgrade till you funny lookin". If you havent upgraded your gear to the max point that you can till you need the next big upgrade, do not even THINK ABOUT IT. You will die. A miserable and worthless death.

What a fun game. Its great honestly. I love it. But would I recommend this to randos who see the tags and think "man this flash game looks cool I wanna try it"? No. No I would not. Run for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hills. You aint ready. This game is not a casual run and gun. You will die if you play like that. I am not trying to be like "Only hardcore gamers know how to play this game". I mean this. If you play this game, casually, you will suffer. And thats intended.

I think my biggest gripe personally that I have with the game is that at some point they just up the scale of the mobs and call it a day. I dont know if it gets better after this. Havent reached that point yet. But I will. Probably it wont change much past that but we will see.

Oh btw this game has a horde mechanic. Have fun.

Don't generally write reviews, especially on an 8 year old game, but just wanted to commend this game for doing what it does well. It's fairly simple in design, but it's challenging, creates a sense of progression as you go along and has just enough variety to keep you going. I've spent way more on games that I've put much less time in. Well worth it.

В обзорах к этой игре ее очень часто сравнивают с Dead Space. Поверьте мне человеку прошедшему DS1 и DS2 на всех сложностях ничего общего кроме того что события происходят в космосе между этими играми нет. Subterrain самобытная инди игра со своими плюсами и минусами. Самый главный совет НЕ ГУГЛИ. Первое прохождение можно сделать максимально простым по сложности, НО максимально самостоятельным. Те немногочисленные записи журнал в этом прекрасно помогают. Кто то говорит что игра абсолютно НЕ РЕИГРАБЕЛЬНАЯ, чушь полная. Да, со стороны кажется что в ней присутствует однообразие в зачистке этажей той или иной локации, НО большая часть уровней процедурно генерируемая и поэтому не повторяются, во-вторых вспомните любой дьблоклон или саму дьябло, чёй-то я ни от кого не слышал фраз типа фу фу фу скукота зачищать данжи ... наиборот мы часами рубили в капусту все что видели!!!
Визуал и звук у игры очень приятные, (привет тем что играл в GTA 1 b2) но надо играть "правильно" не в пол глаза не в пол уха. Мне повезло я играл в темноте с полноразмерными наушниками целиком и полностью погрузившись во весь этот мрак коридоров. Чего только стоит звук шагов при беге, дыхание Веста при усталости ... игра призывает вслушиваться в окружение иначе тебя постигнет а-та-та))) Если ты слышишь что где то открылась дверь, знай за тобой уже выехали. Простейший враг может выпустить из комнаты с десяток других монстров и в этот момент ыт понимаешь тоби .... Еще раз советую начать на самой легком уровне дабы полностью разобраться во всех механиках игры. Для меня самым большим минусом стали босс файты первого прохождения. Планомерно зачистив более 90 уровней в 13 локациях, постигнув дзен всех технологий станет неожиданностью что даже с самым лучшим оружием и в самой лучшей экипировке тебя могут ваншотнуть во время босс файта. К примеру, главного злодея я не мог убить более 8 часов, раз за разом я меняя тактику пытался найти золотой ключик от этой потайной двери, но все тщетно. Больше всего бесило что нельзя убрать диалоги перед боем. Но игра все же пройдена, последний босс файт продлился всего 15 секунд. Случайность? Возможно, но это не испортило моего впечатления об игре. С каждым новым прохождением игра становится ЖЖЖОЩЩЕ, как бы говоря тебе "Димон, шо за балет?" Да, каждое последующее прохождение не вносит разнообразия в геймплей, но делает его сложнее, доводит ваши реакцию до уровня бешеной кошки))) К примеру, грантами я начал пользоваться только на третьем уровне сложности, от оружия ближнего придется отказать на четвертом уровне сложности, потому что риск того что вам сломают очередную конечность или повесят кровотечение от которого вы сдохните очень велик

Ce jeu est difficile, beaucoup trop difficile ...
On passe 40 heure à farmer, faire évoluer son équipement, faire des recherches (bien trop longues pour pas grand chose), défendre le centre névralgique de sa base, nettoyer et purifier les secteurs 1 par 1 et niveau par niveau.
Au final on se retrouve face à des boss impossibles à tuer même en mode facile ...
Il y avait franchement de bonnes idées au départ mais les développeurs ont préféré jouer sur le gonflage artificiel de la durée de vie du jeu plutôt que sur le fun et le plaisir d'évoluer ...
Au final on est toujours aussi faible qu'au début du jeu et on galère toujours.
Les environnement et les monstres sont toujours les mêmes, ça aurait mérité un peu plus de temps passé sur ces aspects du jeu.
Ce jeu vous fera ragequit en moins de temps qu'il n'en faut pour le dire ...
C'est franchement raté ... et c'est bien dommage.
Bref ne l'achetez pas à moins de tomber sur une excellente promo (et encore ça sera de l'argent perdu).

I was enjoing my first run from prison untill I ran out of oxygen. Suffocated to death - couldn't even charge my nonexistent mask with precious O2 (I stood right in front of the charger). In panic I kept looking through my backpack for somesthing to survive... Nope. RIP.
But I died in gratitude. Oh sweet sweet oxygen - what a gift of God - I can at least thank this game for reminding me of this 'mundane' fact.

Крайне монотонная дрoчь. За четыре часа никакого качественного изменения противников. В начале игры очень много бэктрекинга по базе. Игрок пока обежит все станки, поест, поспит, пoсрёт, скрафтит расходники и пополнит запасы кислорода, энергии и тепла, пройдёт минут 15-20. Сама вылазка длиться примерно столько же по времени, но печальнее всего, что боёвка ощущается также как прогулка по базе- уныло и однообразно.

Когда перснонаж перестанет быть слепым и слабым или когда встречу первого босса обновлю обзор.

지역별로 차이점이라고 할게 없습니다. 미묘하게 다를수는 있지만, 손전등으로 비춰서는 파악이 안되네요. 지역에 따라 기믹으로 차별화를 둔것도 전혀 없기때문에, 개성이랄게 전무합니다.
던전에 해당하는 지역별 상층부는 내부구조가 랜덤하게 자동생성되는데, 이건 그냥 난수표 조금 섞어서 복사 붙여넣기 한 수준입니다.
거주구면 방이 조금 더 많이 생성되고, 카지노면 휴게실이 조금 더 많이 생성되는 정도라서, 어느 지역을 가나 똑같은 던전을 돌고 있다는 인상을 줍니다.
안그래도 던전 맵과 층이 매우 길어서 한 던전을 돌아도 지치는데, 다른 지역의 던전에 가도 똑같은 구성과 똑같은 적을 상대해야하니, 한번 질리면 전체가 다 재미없어집니다.

Q : 그럼 한번에 몰아서 많이 돌면 되는거 아님?

자질구레하게 신경써야하는게 굉장히 많은 게임입니다. 피로/식사/음수 수치는 기본이고, 배설수치는 배뇨/배변으로 따로 관리해야 하며, 탄약개념인 배터리와 보유중인 산소, 체온조절기 잔량도 신경써야 합니다. 기지는 전력 생산이 원활하도록 계속 연료를 수동으로 갈아줘야 하고, 폐기물 재활용과 자원 채취 및 정제 등.. 계속해서 신경을 써줘야기 때문에, 한번에 한 층 정도만 공략할 수 있습니다.
그래도 이건 생존 크래프팅 게임의 특징이기도 하니 그러려니 할 수 있습니다.

즉각적인 위기 관리가 어려운 게임이기 때문에, 애초에 위기에 빠지지 않도록 동선을 짜고 회피를 항상 염두에 두며 항상 신중하게 플레이할 필요가 있습니다.
일단 주인공이 유리몸이라 체력도 잘 빠지고, 상태이상에 걸리기라도 하면 위험에서 빠져나오지 못해 그대로 죽는 경우가 자주 발생합니다.
그런데 회복제와 상태이상 치료제는 사실상 비전투시에만 사용가능하기 때문에, 위험한 상황에 빠지는 것 자체가 사망플래그입니다.
그래서 애초에 위험에 빠지지 않도록 항상 회피로를 염두에 두고 움직여야하는데, 잠긴 문을 열고 뒤에서 나타나는 적도 있기 때문에 항상 뒤통수를 신경쓰면서 신중하게 이동해야 합니다.
그밖에도 수류탄은 잘못 튕겨서 폭발 범위에 살짝이라도 걸치게 되면 사망이고, 총은 조금이라도 과열되면 '아뜨거!' 하고 던져버려서 주무기가 사라지는 등, 그야말로 아차하면 죽는 수준의 게임디자인을 보여줍니다.
그렇기에 전투 시 긴장도는 상당히 높은 편이고, 신속한 진행보다는 돌다리도 두드리고 건너는 진행을 필요로 합니다.

Q : 그럼 안전을 확보하고 적을 제압하기 위한 다양한 전술적 선택이 있다는 거네요
A : 그런거 없다.

이 게임의 가장 큰 문제점입니다.
캐릭터에 스킬이나 스탯 개념이 없기 때문에 장비품을 이용해서 전술적 다양함을 챙겨야 하는데, 장비는 종류가 턱없이 부족하고 부품 강화는 그냥 수치놀음 뿐입니다.
일단 주력이 되는 원거리무기는 꼴랑 4종류입니다.
그런데 SMG는 방어전 포탑용으로밖에 쓸데가 없는 막장무기고, 플라즈마런처는 비좁은 실내에서 쓸 수 없는 자살용입니다(하지만 맵 전부가 실내라는거).
그래서 장비하고 다닐 수 있는 무기는 단발총과 산탄총 두종류 뿐입니다. 남은 한칸은 탄절약용 근접무기 하나 끼워주는 정도고요.
게임에서 제공하는 무기조합 시스템으로 특성화가 제대로 기능했다면 선택지가 남아있었겠지만, 사실상 명목상일 뿐입니다.
부품은 오직 1종류씩만 있으며, 수치만 뒤로갈 수록 조금씩 높아지는 정도. +1 아이템 강화 시스템을 +0.3 강화로 세분화했을 뿐입니다.
공격력을 희생하고 관통 성능을 높여서 물량에 대응케 한다던지, 이동속도를 느리게 만든다거나, 도트뎀을 추가로 건다거나, 충전사격을 가능하게 한다거나, 어그로 범위를 줄이는 소음기 등.. 잠깐 생각해도 게임 시스템과 어울리는 무궁무진한 조합이 있지만, 정녕 단 하나도 없습니다.
플레이어한테 골절이니 출혈이니 상태이상을 덕지덕지 발라줄거면, 나도 적에게 상태이상을 똑같이 줄 수 있어야는거 아닌가요.
총 두자루에 단순 스펙 강화밖에 없으니 다양한 전술적 선택이고 자시고가 없어요.
똑같은 방어적 전술만 무한히 반복하면서 긴 맵을 해쳐가야합니다.
그러다 아차하면 죽음이고요.

Q : 그렇다면 전투가 아니라 연출에 중점을 둔 게임인가보군요
A : 연출이라는게 있기라도 하면 이런 소리를 안해요

오프닝에서 픽셀 컷신을 보고 나름 기대했는데, 24시간 플레이를 하면서 컷신은 커녕 스토리 연출 한번을 못봤습니다. 그냥 바닥에 널부러져 있는 텍스트 로그로 끝입니다.
그마저도 키 아이템 위치를 설명해주는 어색한 설명충 로그와 튜토리얼 로그가 태반이고요.
심지어는 던전 마지막층을 장식하는 보스 전투마저 없습니다.
던전 끝까지 가면 아무것도 없이 1층으로 돌아가는 엘리베이터 뿐입니다.

던전별 보상이 전무한 건 아닙니다. 각 던전의 랜덤한 층의 랜덤한 위치에 진행에 필수적인 기지 강화칩이 존재하긴 합니다.
하지만 이는 던전을 빠르게 주파하는것을 막고 한층한층 한곳한곳을 샅샅이 뒤지는 것을 강제하기 때문에, 템포를 늘어지게 만들고 부조리와 더 마주치게 하는 요소일 뿐이죠.

자잘하게 챙겨야 할건 많아, 맵은 맨날 똑같고, 적도 똑같고, 아차하면 죽는 전투는 무의미하게 계속해야해, 던전을 끝내도 보상이 있나 스토리가 있나 성취감이 있나..

질리네요.

앞으로 얼마나 더 이짓거리를 해야하나 공략을 읽어보니, 앞으로 10시간정도 더하면 1부가 끝나면서 이벤트가 있고, 2부는 1부의 맵을 하드모드로 다시 돌으라는 거네요.
지금도 지겨워 죽겠는데, 적 물량만 억지로 늘려놓은 하드모드로 맵 전체를 처음부터 다시 돌으라고요?

I've gotta play in little chunks with the light on though, 'cause I scare pretty easily.
It's cool that I get some idea of what's hiding behind the doors by what sounds are made. I don't like the giant spiders though. I'm arachnophobic.
Kinda wish that I could find some survivors or something, being alone all the time is getting to me.

The game is in pretty rough shape and nowhere near playable, the dev shouldn't have abandoned it in such a state to make another game. The entire game is a slog and needed a great deal of adjustments

+Interesting premise, I like the idea and setting. Your home base is fairly cool and levels aren't poorly designed.

+Intro/tutorial video is actually interesting imo, and thematically a lot of areas fit. No complaints about the main character and I liked reading the notes and lore entries.

-I get the whole theme is the infection spreading etc. But quite frankly it shouldn't be such a chore to even attempt to get power to all sectors and the oxygen and temperature regulators take such a long amount of time to even get and research. Incredibly tedious, and when you get the tier 4 temperature regulators and oxygen generators you have to go to every sector again!

-Everything breaks far too fast; guns practically fall apart in your hands after shooting them a few times in the early game and late game with the sheer amount of enemies they still degrade fairly fast when you're constantly fighting. The cores for the generator break very fast until late game causing even more tedium, and the repair bay even max upgraded can't restore items to 100% condition. Incredibly stupid design choices here

-Turrets can only use SMG's basically forcing you to rush them instead of allowing player choice, you can research others but you're very much so time-gated here before you get overwhelmed. Bad design again, and having to manually turn them on every single time there's a mutant invasion is very stupid too.

-Melee is absolutely worthless, why include them as weapon choices if you're pretty much going to make it a bad idea at almost every point of the game? Again, poor decision making balance-wise and using melee weapons against any sort of groups of enemies mid-late game is just going to get you killed

-almost everything in the game is very RNG heavy and that can get frustrating. Also, the chips are an absolute chore to get and it's terribly tedious to have to get all the way to level 4.

-enemy spawns and density also scale with local infection levels which can lead to situations like opening a door to a room packed to the brim with zombies and nothing you can do if you don't have aoe on you. The infection levels scale faster than your ability to deal with them until very late in. Every room being a clown car full of enemies makes no sense and is very tedious

-Spitter projectiles are very hard to see with the flashlight on, makes you get hit when you really shouldn't have been. Needs more visual clarity there

-Your character gets fatigued VERY fast, way too fast and adds to the tedium of the game constantly having to sleep. On another note, the hunger and thirst were more bearable for some reason which in that case why make you get punished so much for running when the entire game is time gated so heavily? very stupid

-The need to go to the bathroom is even more tedium and adds literally nothing to the game.

-Inventory capacity needs to be doubled both in weight and number of items you can hold, again constantly needing to go back and forth even with the biggest backpack adds to the tedium even more.

-Got a bug where I couldn't even get achievements, that definitely shouldn't be in the game. Kinda important

All in all can't recommend the game, it's a slog and the tedium outweighs the benefits of playing this game. It's fun modded, but it shouldn't have to be that way for the game to even be remotely playable. The dev needs to come back and edit this game in-line with the modder who fixed his creation aka Palandus. Base-game is just not fun, and it needs many adjustments all around which are clearly possible to do. Because like said a modder already changed a lot of aspects of it to be more bearable and player-friendly.

i've enjoyed playing subterrain in the first couple hours of gameplay, the infection system and crafting system is pretty good and the combat system is alright for a top down indie game. the game is pretty challenging at times, but you can be able to overcome it once you get to the what each enemy type does. regular zombies punch you but are liek level 1 enemies, the spitter zombies just spit acid at you, the martian spitters are a leveled up version of the spitters but more dangerous and the hulking zombies deal massive damage.

i would've given this like a 8/10 but i would have to give it a 3/10 and heres why:

1. one of the biggest issues is the item inventory. whenever you want to access your inventory, of course just press the I button on the keyboard to access right? well wrong, there isnt one. how do you access it? to access it theres a small backpack icon on the top left side of the screen, you have to hover your mouse over the icon and then click on it to access your inventory and this is a massive problem that needs to be fixed because you use your mouse when looking around and aiming your gun at enemies, imagine a horde of enemies going after you and you need to quickly heal yourself or quickly replace an empty battery pack to charge up your weapons, its going to take a few seconds to do this while at the same time your character well look at the direction your mouse cursor went, you wont be able to keep an eye on the enemies. often times the mouse cursor will not hover over the inventory icon and you will accidentally fire your gun or swing your melee weapon due to how small the icon is. Another problem regarding inventory is quick slots, theres too few of them. sure you can upgrade your suits to gain more quick slots, but the high tier armor suit you get which is the last upgrade contains only 6, no 8 or 9 slots, just 6 which is pretty bad since you would really need to prioritize which health or stimulant items you're really going to need when battling enemies, knowing if you need 1 or 2 5 stacks of medkits or 1 stack of bandages for bleeding or a stack of casts if you get broken bones too often. it feels like they got stingy with the quick slots.

2. the game has a major issue with micromanagement. in the game, there's basic survival needs you deal with like treating the infection you'll get when hit, eating and drinking food since there's a hunger and thirst mechanic, sleep, weapon maintenance, going to the bathroom, resource gathering and charging up power packs. the character you play as, Albert West, has a real problem with his body, he becomes hungry and thirsty really fast, in 2 or 3 hours he needs to eat a buffet if you dont want him to suffer health and stamina debuffs, this also gets worse when he has to poop and pee after eating and drinking 2 to 4 items in a single sitting while at the same time you have to rest, so this means you'll be running to the bathroom and then going back to sleep wasting time.
another issue is weapon maintenance. there's a nanomachine where you simply put your weapons and armor inside of it and give the machine time to slowly repair the gear you use, this takes a long time if you didnt upgrade the machine with a software update. if you didnt upgrade the machine, the machine will repair only 2 items and then eventually to 3 once you upgrade the software, with a slightly faster speed to repairs. this gets annoying really fast since your weapons degrade pretty quickly and the nanomachine is incapable of fully repairing your gear to their original HP points, at the nanomachines last software update, it only goes up to 80% durability instead of a 100%, why? why at 80%? why not 100%? this is supposed to the future and the nanomachine is only capable at repairing 80%?
another problem is the power packs, in the beginning, the power packs will obviously carry a smaller charge, so researching them is mandatory so you can craft higher capacity power packs for your guns and flashlight. when you finally get to the last tiers of the power banks, surprisingly, they lose their charge pretty fast since at this point you'll be carrying and using fully upgraded weapons which use more energy per shot and the XL power packs charge is not really enough so you'll need to craft multiple of them to compensate. whenever your power pack runs out of power, you'll have to mouse over to your inventory and go to the section which holds your power packs and then double click it to use it and that is pretty bad design right there since again you'll be fighting swarms of enemies and you may not get the time to equip it since you will have to scroll through the amount of stuff you have in order to use the power bank, but whenever you get hit, it will exit you out of the inventory screen which means you're more than likely screwed.
the micromanaging gets really really annoying so fast it actually sucks the fun out of the game and turns it into a chore, like if you're actually cleaning your room or going to a job you hate. the micromanaging is a recurring problem that will not go away until you finish the game.

as of now i am at the last final boss and just gave up on it, because the final boss moves very quickly and the enemies, which move slow most of the time, are now moving faster and the boss is flying around shooting energy balls at me while at the same time i have to fight over the inventory system to replace my spent power pack for another one. i did not realize i had to carry two of the same weapons to fight the boss because there's two bossess and both of them take a ton of firepower to take down, but it also means the durability of the high tier guns you made will also go down very fast.

i would love to give it a thumbs up, but the micromanagement and inventory system frustrated me way too much and sucked any interest i had in this game, i'll probably not play sequel of this game since i went from action shooter to turn based and has some similar issues regarding micromanagement. well, time to look for a new game.

Man, I’m just disappointed, really let down.

I gotta preface, the game is [i]fine[/i]. It doesn’t do anything [i]too[/i] egregious and does most stuff quite well, but overall, the experience takes more and more of a dive the further you play. For that reason, I cannot recommend playing through more than one time.

It looks great. With an art-style reminiscent of Barotrauma and the like, it really nails the look of it all – the environment, interface, items, creatures etc. Paired with the sound design, you really get immersed in your surroundings and I love that. What I [b]DON’T[/b] love is the [b]EXTREMELY[/b] repetitive soundtrack/ambience. I couldn’t honestly tell you if there are more than 2 songs in this game because the ones I’m thinking about are played on constant loop - considering how [i]waiting[/i] is a key mechanic, this is a nightmare scenario. More musical diversity would definitely help with the overbearing monotony present in the mid/late-game.

It plays well. But what you get to play with is mid. You have the option to compound research on weaponry and items to improve them multiple times however this takes precious time and resources – I like the idea of this. In practice, you will end up only using the best items available to you at any given time [i](What’s the point in using a Level 2 pistol when you could just wait until you research and use the strongest one you can?)[/i]. And seeing as subsequent researched items are [b]ALWAYS[/b] better than the last, you have no incentive to use anything [b]BUT[/b] the best. [b]HOWEVER[/b], it must be noted that each weapon upgrade is only [b]SLIGHTLY[/b] better than the last, and by slightly, I’m talking SO slightly that you won’t know the difference. Of course, endgame weapons trump earlygame weapons but they are a large time/material investment. With the weapons themselves: the smg is as effective as projectile spitting, the pistol is a pocket railgun with a high 1-shot chance and the shotgun is just mediocre and sees the least changes in upgrades. This led to me just using the pistol, killing everything quickly yet slowly (thanks to the abysmally low firerate and gradual heat buildup). All of this is to say the gunplay is ungodly mid.

The mechanics are… [i]abundant[/i]... You’ve got a lot to manage right from the get-go. Hunger, thirst, fatigue, research, power allocation, reactor condition, item production, material production/refining, scavenging, climbing infection and weapon condition (oh yeah, and you need to escape Mars, simple right?). It takes time to get into the flow of what you need to do, but this puts a LOT of initial pressure on the player especially when they notice that they are on a “soft time limit”. Failing to be efficient with your time will leave you behind the infection curve and can lead to a “death spiral of time loss” where clearing rooms take progressively longer, leaving the infection to grow in the background.

The infection mechanic is cool in theory but paired with the randomly generated rooms leads to a LOT of time being spent on killing and clearing. Theses processes are monotonous, and get really boring in the midgame. Whilst the enemies do evolve and grow in number, the room layouts are emotionless, uninteresting, unchanging, and modular. Only the first floor of each sector is unique, I wish the developer decided to hand-make each floor to introduce some personality and creativity to each region (or at the very least reduce how many floors there are cus [b]♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥[/b] there’s a lot of them). This would allow room to introduce many interesting set-pieces, settings and environmental details that are not currently present in the game (outside of a few randomly placed rooms). As it stands, you’ll be exploring the same rooms throughout the whole game with little to no variation. Randomised rooms, in my opinion, would better suit a roguelike spin on the game as opposed to whatever they’re going for right now.

Minor spoilers, but the final boss(es) are bad imo. You get overwhelmed very quickly and sometimes take lots of unavoidable damage but what really gets me is that they don’t build off of anything you learned throughout your time in the game. All enemies have roughly the same time-to-kill but the bosses are just absolute damage-sponges with insane damage. If you didn’t over-prepare, you’ll die. I don’t know, I just know for certain that I had a very negative experience leading up to the ending and the bosses didn’t fix that.

Kinda just exasperated at this game. It does so much right but still ends up feeling boring. Play it if you are looking for a new experience, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Also poo and pee mechanics because every survival game needs those, right?

Tl;dr it’s monotonous and gets boring real fast but does look nice.

My gun got too hotand I dropped it while I was surrounded by mutants and died.
I accidentally used the BFG when I mean to use the shotgun and died.
I didnt bring an extra O2 tank and died.
I let the infection rate grow to high and they attacked my generator. I died.

I love this game. Plays great on the Steam Deck.

Not going to lie, I had fun in this game;
- Exploration is tense and looting is fun
- Top down view is interesting but works great.
- The recycling, production, etc work in a nice way, within reason.
- World info it feeds is quiet nice and steady,

However, after attempting to play for a long while on the normal difficulty which it states as hard (no debuffs on monster health and attack) I just uninstalled after a while because after day 10 ingame, it just becomes tedious by nature.
- You need to RUN, and never stop running because as more time passes, levels become more difficult. Around day 8-10 is the time you need to finish by.
- You HAVE TO min max everything, your research, the order you get the chips, the order of research and production
- Those notes you find and the world building it tries to create, while I would've loved to read, you generally don't care because you just need the chips (also have to rush everything). I've never even looked at the stats of any items, just grabbed the next level versions.
- Melee is pointless because you constantly bleed/get a fracture from the chunky bois later down the line. You can cheese this as well but that's a lot of cheese.
- Your bag is always full and it is expected for you to only get items you need or make several trips. LOL, like there is time for anything unless you explicitly plan exactly what to build, when and the exact material and time costs for all of your steps before starting the game. Even playing the tutorial, you need to restart if you get anything but a shotgun at a specific chest.
- I don't know why lvl1,2,3 oxygen filters and thermal generators exist since creating and placing them on discrict do nothing other than the latest versions. You can't afford to do that, and even if you did you won't have the power to support it. I tried with them, tried without them. Using them made the game worse lol.
- Power cores constantly degrade, part of why you always need to min max, which makes sense but cores are expensive and just pointless until later tiers but by then you're already short on everything, My research building was almost always offline unless I was back from a mission. Sadly, can't modify a save file or anything to shut this concept down.
- Areas are pointlessly long; 10 levels for second tier areas, 5 levels for first tear ones, where in a suitcase somewhere, your next tier chip awaits. You're punished if you explore, you're punished if you don't.
- Sometimes the chips show on the map, sometimes they don't. They say it depends on the notes you collect but I couldn't find the lvl2 mining chip via the marker because I didn't stand on a specific spot to get the self reflection our hero needs so that marker appears so I lost a couple of in-game hours, which means unnecessary slog-fest later down the line. This game is like multiplayer age of empires 2, if you don't do the correct steps at the first 15 mins, you've already lost the game.

TL;DR; unless you want to cheese the game by playing with the speed run strategy, I wouldn't bother. You need to know exactly what to do, when and with what materials in exact numbers to win. You lose if you deviate

[b]Subterrain[/b] is a sci-fi top-down shooter game made by Pixellone released on 2016. Do not buy this junk even on huge discount !! The travel time between loot collection and base is shockingly long , Stoneshard looks better in comparison to this game. The final boss battle is glitched even to this day, I cannot beat this game even using cheat engine. Do not buy the sequel of this game too! It is made by the same people.

Gamplay: Tedious
Guns: only pistol is practical, smg is only useful for turrets, shotguns overheat to fast, plasma same plus massive energy sink. All weapons break after about 15 minutes so need to bring 4-5 pistols to finish a zone.
Grenades: What is does the stun grenade do exactly waste of a belt slot.

Weapons have different repair amounts but identical repair speeds, main reason smg is pointless is it's 1600 dura vs 350-400 on a pistol, good luck keeping up with the infestation waiting hours in game for the smg to repair later on.
Game could have been alright but having the only practical weapon on a 1 second interval gets old after a very short time. Where's the flame throwers, gravity shots, even an automatic that doesn't hit like a wet sponge, btw the math on some "upgrades" just doesn't pan out, ie smg cost per shot goes from 1/s to 2/s yet the damage only goes up by 1-2 yet the fire rate goes up by about 10% that's not an improvement just an massive energy cost for nothing. Similar thing in armor, get 5 belt slots for the cost of 20% speed lost in a game against the clock is not an upgrade. Resources are finite so powering through with grenades isn't really possible either cause making the composites consume other resources that eventually run out. If someone could mod in some entertaining weapons I might try it again but it's just not that fun past tier 3.

Loved the premise. Seemed like it was right up my alley.
But the gameplay loop killed it for me, got bored after around 3 hrs in.
I can see how some enjoy it, but it was just a miss for me.
I forced myself to go for 14 more hours thinking it would get more enjoyable, but I haven't been having fun.
