I have nothing bad to say about the game, it runs smoothly, the game mechanics, armor, different ammunition types, and troop and tank movement are all very good, and people saying the AI in this game might be OP is just untrue, they are just realistic and thats it, the game could scare new players becasue its offering a lot but i wouldnt say its complicated, and I finally want to give the game a good review because I find the many negative reviews pointless and the game deserves a good review.

Somehow its less than the first game in every aspect. Singleplayer is very limited and good luck finding people to play with/against. I have no idea how they managed to do it but the game in its current form is close to 100gbs.

I've tried this half a dozen times, but I always quit. Its mostly optimized for MP play, which is irrelevant for me as im an SP guy.

It's one of the games where you have to micromanage 450 things a second over the whole map, if you look into the wrong spot for 10 seconds, you may come back to your core units and find they have been decimated already. Infantry gets pinned within seconds, air strikes hit you immediately. AI is everywhere at once, is not constrained by anything and with 3 times the forces. Meanwhile, your own units are dumb as a brick. There is no time to implement any strategy or think about things, when you are done you are already dead. Maps are way too huge for one player to manage it all.

Its not a strategy or tactics game, its just an annoying micromanagement-clickfest and I hate it.

game was fun till I realized you cant withdraw troops out of the map nor reload logistics trucks. instant uninstall from me. too bad because the air gameplay is pretty cool, and guess what you can evac planes out of the map so they can rearm and repair!!! shouldnt we be able to do that for ground troops aswell? just play red dragon or broken arrow tbqh

Gra ma potencjał, szkoda że niewykorzystany. Mechanika penetracji pancerza to totalny absurd oraz surrealizm w jednym. Np. IS- 1 commorti po otrzymaniu 32 trafień od Tigera E z osławionego działa 88 nie jest nawet zarysowany.
W rzeczywistości po piątym nawet jeśli nie doszłoby do przebicia pancerza to członkom załogi mózg wypłynąłby uchem. Pięć cromvelli V na krótkim dystansie vs tiger E. Tiger po otrzymaniu około 20 trafień nie jest nawet zarysowany a załoga ma się dobrze. Ta gra chcę uchodzić za realistyczną ale to czyste Sci-Fi.

One if not my favourite Game! SD 2 is exactly what i wanted to play. A RTS Game with a strategic large scale mode and big frontlines with historically accurate units and battles. I simply love this game, its great to relax in my opinion, although the micro managing is a real Challenge.
If youre into WW2 RTS game and looking for a game which has large scale maps with big formations AND player controlled tactical battles with micro managing etc. SD 2 is exactly what you need!

If youre new to this kind of game you have to be aware that the learning curve is pretty steep, i highly reommend playing the ingame tutorials and watch some on Youtube.

I own this game for 5 years now and im still playing it on a regular basis, the player made mods are also a real upgrade to the game experience.

very good units and value stats, historically similar and the maps are amazing, just wish they would take some inspiration from gates of hell ost front, like being able to control units individually and FPV etc, would be awesome if you could have infantry dig in also

I... i can't tell if i do hate it or not.
The visuals are good, the units are interesting and varied.
I love this game in multiplayer it has a kind of hard grit competition to it.

But on game like this ? i spend most of my time on solo missions and campaigns... and oh it is bad.
The AI as in many other games (EUIV-CIV-Red Dragon) cheats. It sees all, bombard all mock all.
Despite the cheats the AI is really incompetent. Her cheats help her with artillery and planes which derail the game quickly.

The game is unenjoyable despite my time spent on it.

It has caused me more headaches and anger from the AI Unjust treatment compiled with her inability to use that properly making every game a mess.

I don't recommend the game despite how much i want to keep playing for the satisfying numbers, the victories ! but they are all so anger inducing i'm not sure i wanna keep going.

Beaucoup trop arcade, il ce passe 5000 choses en même temps, c'est ingérable... Ce n'est pas un jeu de stratégie mais un jeu de réflexes... Ils avaient vraiment l'opportunité de faire quelque chose de bien mais ont préféré se diriger du coté des joueurs shooté à l'adrénaline qui veulent un jeu avec des flash et de l'action nonstop sans aucun moment de répit... C'est triste...

There will be neither Skirmishes nor Multiplayer, only Army General campaigns. Commanders must choose their traits either at the start of gameplay or during operations. It is [b]node-based[/b], with reinforcements granted only after fulfilling some of the special objectives. The player doesn't dictate the victory, — [b]the weather, terrain and time do.[/b] Expect betrayals, and every decision will bear different consequences.

And I assume the Army General engine of Steel Division 2 is the [u]ONLY[/u] system capable of simulating these complex Southeast Asian historical conflicts.

I will call my game mode 'Mandala Chronicles' rather than 'Army General', as it will have a very different approach and more sophisticated doctrines compared to Eugen Systems' Army General mode. 'Mandala' (=circle) means sphere of influence according to ancient Southeast Asia politics.

ive played this gamee for a little time and its very fun unlike other RTS ive played this can autofill your divisions and also allows to give the order to several units to capture an area instead of directing them manually very fun and chaotic i just hate how its hard to get an opportunity to use air support when going on the offensive

Steel Division 2 é um jogo de 2019 que, mesmo após anos, continua sendo um verdadeiro GOAT dos RTS — pelo menos na minha opinião. Ambientado na Segunda Guerra Mundial, o jogo foca principalmente no Leste Europeu, ao contrário de seu antecessor, que se passava na França e na Europa Ocidental.

A ambientação é incrível: mapas muito bem construídos e equilibrados, aliados a um alto nível de imersão, graças à grande quantidade de unidades historicamente fiéis.

Por se passar décadas atrás, as unidades são naturalmente mais lentas — não espere veículos passando dos 50 km/h. Isso torna o ritmo do jogo mais devagar, o que acaba afastando parte dos jogadores. No entanto, essa suposta desvantagem é exatamente o que faz Steel Division 2 ser tão bom. Cada decisão e cada movimento precisam ser bem pensados, já que os reforços demoram a chegar à linha de frente, resultando em uma jogabilidade muito mais cadenciada, tensa e estratégica.

Steel Division 2 se diferencia de praticamente todos os outros wargames por ser extremamente tático — não que os demais não sejam, mas aqui o jogo exige muito mais do jogador. A logística é vital: para colocar um blindado no campo de batalha, você precisa pensar em todo o suporte ao redor. Infantaria bem posicionada em áreas de mata para fazer spot e proteger o veículo, unidades de AA contra ataques aéreos e tropas de reconhecimento para identificar ameaças antes do confronto direto. Muitas vezes, o recon é essencial para detectar blindados inimigos mais fortes e recuar suas unidades a tempo.

O jogo também apresenta dinâmicas de terreno muito mais profundas. Florestas densas e pântanos são intransponíveis para veículos, e há uma diferenciação clara entre tipos de cobertura (verde e amarela). Essas variações tornam cada mapa único e adicionam camadas táticas importantes, forçando o jogador a se adaptar constantemente ao terreno.

Diferentemente de WARNO, onde o sistema de dano é baseado em valores de penetração, Steel Division 2 adota uma abordagem mais analógica e direta: se o projétil penetra, há dano; se não penetra, não há. Isso torna os confrontos mais previsíveis, realistas e dependentes de posicionamento e reconhecimento.

No geral, o jogo tem um ritmo mais lento, combates muito mais letais e transmite uma sensação de autenticidade que poucos RTS conseguem alcançar.

Essa é a minha opinião e o motivo pelo qual considero o jogo um verdadeiro GOAT. Vale cada centavo investido. Infelizmente, a comunidade multiplayer diminuiu com o tempo. Ainda é possível encontrar partidas online, mas normalmente há apenas 1 ou 2 servidores 10x10 abertos, o que significa tempo de espera para encontrar jogos.

Por outro lado, o modo singleplayer é extremamente divertido e complexo — fácil passar horas e horas jogando.

No geral, recomendo fortemente, especialmente para quem gosta de RTS tático, cadenciado e autêntico.

I have had it for years and haven't played much. I so wish there was a smaller version of this game where the force sizes are basically a company+ to battalion+ at most that could be played as a campaign.

I like to Micro, I don't like to Micro hundreds of individual units.

As a result, i just play skirmishes on the small maps and reduce the starting size and reinforcements.

Would love the game if campaigns were available at that scale.

Eugen in its form with extremely cheating AI. Since the multiplayer is almost dead, do not buy it unless you want to play against each other with friends of yours.

However, the coop is great and all the scenarios and operations/campaigns can be played together. Just for that I can recommend the game.

Also, there are a lot of diverse divisions coming from some other fronts like Normandy, so one should find something they may like : )

I don't play those kinds of games often but I'm Sudden Strike/Blitzkrieg veteran and I really enjoyed Steel Divison 2.

Game offers many interesting maps, a LOT of divisions and unit types (pretty much anything but naval units), plus we can create our own divisions, which allows us to tweak it to our needs.

Playing versus AI alone isn't as entertaining but coop feels great, for some people wanting more strategic approach there is a campaign mode, but honestly I didn't like it much. There is also a multiplayer mode, which is still populate (as of 01.2026), haven't played it much though, but considering we can create our own teams, and there is huge units variety I'm afraid it might be corrupted with 'meta' gaming.

All in all great tactical/strategic game for any WW2 enthusiasts.

Solid game. If you like RTS games with more realistic mechanics than this is for you. It's got a bit of a steep learning curve, but the different ai difficulties allow you to take your time and figure out what works. While the setting of the Normandy game interests me more than the eastern front, the game does feature western allied forces as dlc content. Although, I do think it is overpriced and they nickel and dime you with each dlc. So just wait for a sale.

too expensive price tag for base game, on top of that still got the dlc, which IMO, do not deserve the price as this game has not much graphics and too slow pace. Army general mode should have been a mode whereby u can recruit new troops instead of being fixed. Multiplayer is usually dead with 100-200 players at most at peak time. Hence this is a mode mostly for skirmish with limited map. At most this is worth $20 including all dlcs not to say this game is already so many years old.

Give a sandbox mode and free settings for all aspects like, end conditions, units etc. Like CoH 2 does. Most maps are locked to CTF and the game ends too soon.

The fact that the devs have not removed or at least made it an option to turn off the single most annoying "sound effect" in gaming history baffles me. Every time an enemy plane appears on the battlefield there is a 3 second air raid sirene "sound effect" and for some reason it seems 20 times louder than any of the sound effects in the game. It annoys the absolute ♥♥♥♥ out of me as I am trying to focus.
