pretty good game, interesting to see where ISAT gets that groove from. However, this game only works if you really liked ISAT, so yeah.

i played this after isat and i think that was the better choice for me, knowing what i know now. i finished isat a little over a year ago and was thinking abt it so i thought i should get around to playing this. yes, the gameplay is more rough and there are some scenes word for word from the main game (of course, its a time loop) but i actually think it does some interactions/tone better, or at least i prefer it to the main game. the short playtime actually works in its favour for me, it ends right when the loops start to get gruelling and the ending was just *chef's kiss*. definitely play if you liked isat, its an interesting look at how the game started and adds a little context.

In Stars and Time is a masterpiece of a game. I played it several years ago, I've written a glowing review of it, it's one of my top games in recent years. I was excited to return to that world for a bit.

This... despite saying it is a prologue... should absolutely be played *after* playing the main game.

It's less of a an actual prequel and more a miniature side snippet of the game. A snapshot of somewhere around the middle. But it's sort of a story of it's own, It's also very short, the main game took me about thirty hours and this one I finished in less than two.

And as I was playing, I was feeling disappointed, like this was just a tech demo for the real game and didn't really warrant it's own separate release. And then it got to a scene... and I felt all sorts of emotions, I won't say what kind because even that would maybe spoil something. I don't know that this little "prologue" earned those emotions on its own , or if they came entirely from the main game which I now played a few years ago.... but it stirred up something and made me FEEL and so it delivered on that end.

I don't know that I can recommend getting this at full price unless you LOVED the original full game, but it might be worth your time if you see it on sale sometime. The art book is probably worth grabbing!
