Plays very well, and it's interesting to look at. However, gameplay is so obtuse you'll need a walkthrough to follow, as well as LSD to really get you thinking outside of the box.

[b]Context[/b] Starship Titanic is a 1998 puzzle adventure set aboard a luxury starship whose controlling AI has gone haywire. The game was written by Douglas Adams (of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy fame), and the humour and writing are strong. Unfortunately, it pains me to say that, both mechanically and structurally, this is an awful game.
[b]Writing[/b] The premise is simple: humans built a luxurious starship staffed by humanoid AIs, something went wrong, the humans vanished, and the robots are malfunctioning. For unclear reasons, you are tasked with fixing the situation. What truly stands out is the writing. The game captures the absurdity of shallow AIs running a faux-luxury spaceship in a genuinely funny way (and for some reason, there is also a parrot). However, the mechanics undermine the writing. Conversations rely on a primitive text parser, which is far too limited to support meaningful exchanges, resulting in fragmented and often incoherent interactions.
[b]Aesthetics[/b] The visuals are pre-rendered in that unmistakable late-90s CGI style — glossy, plastic, and uncanny — with occasional live-action human appearances. But given the malfunctioning robotic setting, this almost works in the game’s favour. The soundtrack successfully creates the illusion of opulent luxury. Voice acting is strong overall (with some Monty Python alumni involved), though to me the elevator operator and the restaurant waiter stand out the most. Unfortunately, the developers failed to account for the repetition involved in an exploration game: what could be a funny over-the-top interaction quickly becomes grating when revisited repeatedly (the parrot and the Succ-U-Bus being prime offenders).
[b]Gameplay[/b] At its core, this is a traditional puzzle adventure: progress through dialogue, environmental puzzles, and item collection/combination. A twist is the text-based conversation system, replacing the multiple-choice dialogue common at the time. Unfortunately, the ambition far exceeds the execution. The interface is clunky, and the puzzles are poorly designed. The result is a game that is difficult for all the wrong reasons.
Most of the time, there is no clear objective. The robots provide confusion more often than guidance. The text processor is particularly frustrating: you rarely know what to ask, and even when you do, responses depend on phrasing questions in very specific shapes. Worse, it’s often impossible to distinguish useful hints from nonsense. More than once I was sent chasing irrelevant rooms or hallucinated problems (one robot repeatedly insisted a room was “the most unimportant,” which proved to be false). Conversations frequently lack internal logic — in a single exchange, a bot might ask you to deal with a bomb and then immediately deny its existence. On top of that, each robot has three behavioural gauges affecting its functioning, adjusted through obscure and poorly explained mechanics.
The puzzles themselves are a checklist of infamous adventure game tropes: pixel hunting without feedback, repetition-based sequences (the waiter confrontation), timing puzzles (the chicken and the parrot), and finicky movement interactions (the lemons).
There is a localisation system that assigns every room an identifier, including your own cabin among dozens. While an interesting touch, it quickly becomes tedious. Reaching your room requires finding the correct elevator, selecting the correct floor, and then locating the correct door (and besides all the clicking, the floor number is typed manually). The interface is inconsistent: most interactions are point-and-click, except when they arbitrarily require menu navigation or typed input (like calling elevators, or controlling TV channels).
To make matters worse, I encountered a game-breaking inconsistent state that forced a full restart. Because the game offers no clear direction, I had no way of knowing my save was corrupted until much later ([spoiler]for the record: the functions in your third-class stateroom are not supposed to block![/spoiler]).
The game auto-saves occasionally, and you can save manually at any time. I don’t think there are (intended) deadend states.
[b]Value[/b] It took me around 10h to finish the game, including a restart caused by the glitch. You cannot revisit earlier chapters, but you have 5 save slots available. There are no achievements — this is the original 1998 version. The game is barely playable, let alone repayable.

Fun curiosity if you happen to be Douglas Adams fan or into 90s FMV point and clicks. As a game it doesnt hold up. I'd rate it neutral rather than negative actually as I quite like the quirky humour and the imaginative setting. But as a standalone puzzle game, it's convoluted and possibly conceived by a mad man.

A classic. If you've never played it, it's annoying, but funny, and difficult, but easy if you know how to talk to the bots. If you don't, I'm afraid I can't help you. It's Douglas Adams and other great artists- you need to play this.
I grew up as a huge Douglas Adams fan and even met him when I was a teenager, so I really wanted to love this game. But I cannot; even at 89 cents, it is overpriced. If you want to play a great adventure game with the Douglas Adams charm, find yourself Infocom's release of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game and play it on a modern emulator.
By contrast, Starship Titanic must have been programmed by the minds behind Monty Python's Complete Waste of Time. The irreverence and absurdism fill this game -- not just in the puzzles and voiceovers, but also in the interface that never makes it clear how to do what you want even if you have the right idea. The multimodal interface tries to simultaneously be a parser-based game and a point-and-click adventure where you sometimes click on the environment and sometimes on the interface. The upshot is that you will almost certainly want to have a walkthrough guide in a separate tab to figure out how to progress. It's a shame, because there is probably a good game buried under the lousy interface that earns the positive reviews that so many people here are offering.
As child I was really intrigued by the graphics, the audio, the rich atmosphere, but simply could not figure it out. There were no instructions, no guidance and no documentation, and spent days if not weeks walking in circles, and switching CDs back and forth (the game was huge for its time).
Now, 25+ years later, i bought it again for nostalgic reasons: the game still has a horrible gameplay, is absolutely impossible (even for adults) to solve without online walkthroughs, but is rich in imagination, creativity and true Douglas Adams brilliance. Did a speed run, and walked it through within a hour.
Realising, the game is not about making it to the finish line, but about: being completely lost in space, frozen in time, on a ship with no support or help, it's brutal, but brilliant.

I loved playing this on my Win95 machine, never finished it. It's great to see this now available on steam so I can finally complete it.
Very fun game, but it hasn't aged well, and unfortunately it requires some familiarity with this era of point-and-click adventure games to realistically navigate.
The game clearly presumes the player has prior familiarity with games using the same setup, and given how old these games are now, I haven't touched any of these titles in over a decade, and can't really remember how to play. With this in mind, the game was a little too rough for me to play at this time, but I may return to it later.

Чтобы понять, что вообще требуется сделать, надо выслушать все 7 часов диалогов на английском и, поняв весь сопутствующий английский юмор пополам с сарказмом, выявить последовательность действий. То есть - невозможно. Думаю, учитывая изменившийся за 27 лет культурный контекст, даже носителям будет тяжело. В общем, без прохождения никак.
Несмотря на то, что у игры есть русификация Фаргуса, версия из Стима с ней несовместима и из-за изменения файлов требует переписывания и перекомпиляции. А версия с русификацией не запускается на современных системах. В общем, без русика.

Фанатам квестов 90х, фанатам английского юмора, фанатам Дугласа Адамса. Остальным можно пропускать.

No doubt that this game is a certified classics! It is a true old-school, adventure point n'click and I mean that in a good and a bad way. I'll elaborate:
The good way: Unique, large and beautifully crafted ship to explore, fun interactable characters that all carry the classic Douglas Adams humor, immersive and enjoyable music, an interesting story that makes you want to see it through to the end.
The bad way: I doubt you'd be able to finish the game without the manual. I mean you can, it would just take you a loooong time and nerves of steel. Nothing is explained to you and the hints are, well...I couldn't find them. a Good portion of puzzles are nonsensical and most of the solutions can either be found via guide or by sheer luck and accident. The UI is confusing at the start. I wandered around trying to finish a puzzle only to realize it's because I wasn't using the correct interface. What, I have to go to another interface just to call an elevator?! A click wasn't obvious enough?!
And, admittedly, the parrot that screamed over the talking characters and in my ear made me want to shove in into a Succ-U-Bot and leave it there to choke.
Despite these outdated mechanics and flaws, I enjoyed this game and would recommend it to those who enjoy these types of old school adventure games.

Very funny Myst type game.
Certifiable classic, hands-down. Only... yet another title Steam hasn't made available for Linux? 'Got the game installed and it didn't have that dreaded "Available (only) for Windows" message, but it refuses to launch. I will not touch Orwell 10 or 11 with the proverbial 40-foot pole so... waiting.
But yeah, 'played this roughly 3/4 of the way through a decade or so ago - until another Windows system crashed and I lost the game saves - and though it's understandably dated it's all of: hilarious, mysterious, Art-Deco cool, suspenseful, meditative and thought-provoking. 'Would be real nice to be able to play it again. But if you've already cursed yourself with an Orwellsoft system, go for it. This one is not to be missed.
This is one weird game. At first you may be turned off by graphics that are—let’s be honest—very ugly. The 3D design is awkward, confusing, and off-putting. It’s kind of a futuristic art deco meets pop art that was put through a very chonky compression algorithm. It didn’t turn out very well. But it was ambitious for the time, and you can see what they were going for, so just take a while to appreciate what you see and take it for what it is.
Second, the controls. They’re... cryptic, and take some getting used to. This is an artifact of the time, when games would come with a big manual and expected you to use it. So read the manual. Oh, you did? And it was useless? Yeah, the manual for this game is pretty useless. It’s mostly nonsense, but it does have a few hints plus a map telling you where the elevators are. I spent half an hour trying to find the elevators on my own, so that would’ve helped.
Third, the story. It’s all but nonexistent. If you want, you can read some in-game emails or the manual, but the characters known very little and if you really want the backstory you need to read the book by Terry Jones. It’s finally back in print, so check it out. But to be honest, none of it is going to help with the puzzles, which are frankly nonsensical. I don’t know how anyone would ever figure half of them out without going insane.
Let’s face it. This game is a confusing mess. I feel like they tried to do too much, and realized it halfway through, and ended up releasing something that wasn’t quite finished. Nevertheless, you can see some hints of what it could have been, and it’s worth visiting this strange, lonely world created by this game just to glimpse that dream.

An old classic and a bit basic these days, but full of Douglas Adams humour and well worth a look. One of the best. The best being Grim Fandango, of course.
What a delightful game--how did I miss this the first time around? Even though ancient--1998--it was still great fun and amazing achievement for its time. Thoroughly enjoyed this CLASSIC.
I enjoyed it back in the day, but it's very hard to recommend among modern games, it's very moonlogicky, awkward and I have absolutely no idea how I beat it as kid, cos you really need to use a walkthrough. Read the book instead, it's much better.

It's an ok port of the OG game, I will warn anyone going in now that some of the puzzles are almost unfair due to them requiring you to have the box art. So don't feel bad using a guide if you get stuck. I think the humor is ok I laughed a couple of times but overall it's not like Adam's best work but it's a fun little romp when it's not a pixel hunt.

Douglas Adams is hilarious, and this game really shines with his humor throughout. That having been said... it is a confusing mess of a game. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but had to look up at least three of the puzzles at the end because I just had no clue what to do. And I don't often give in and look things up. So take that for what you will; if you like Douglas Adams, Hitchhikers Guide, etc, you'll enjoy this game.

I went into this having read "mixed" reviews, both from the time it was originally released in 1998 and from other Steam users, but also with a fair amount of point-and-click adventure/puzzle game experience under my belt and a great appreciation for the humor of Douglas Adams. Regardless, there's just not enough here to even begin to enjoy.
Pretty much right out of the gate, the puzzles are [i]beyond[/i] nonsense, and this doesn't let up through almost the entire game. The humor is somewhere between sparse and nonexistent; even some jokes that might ordinarily fall just a bit flat are run so far into the ground that they lose any charm they may have had. The only parts of the game even potentially worth interacting with, the robotic crew of the ship, are spread far across the tedious to navigate ship and plagued by input-parsing limitations.
Even for die-hard fans of Adams' work, I can't recommend this mess.

Everything about this game is so great except the gameplay. It's one of those games where you literally need a guide next to you in order to progress, as you'll have next to no idea on what to do next since the game doesn't show,tell or even hint on what to do. It's a puzzle game that's not good for casuals or even veterans.
It's a shame since again, the VAs (Crew of Monty Python are here),style, atmosphere, writing, 3Dish environments, character designs it's all expertly crafted and made but the gameplay not being helpful to the player in anyway, shape or form really ruins what could've been a great game.
As a game i can't recommend, but as a book (which the game is based off of) Douglas Adams's Starship Titanic by Terry Jones i highly recommend.

Have you ever wanted to play a game based entirely off of a throw-away sentence in a book, written by one of the most intriguing and random pieces of science Fiction to ever grace this earth?
Me neither, until now.
Starship Titanic is Point and Click adventure in the style of MYST.
The Main thing is has going is the British Comedy, It's littered through the whole game and plays out quite well, especially when you interact with the robots, moving around the opinions of you with them, I still don't know what they do exactly, I just try to make them as high as possible.
As you wander the corridors you learn how to explore the ship, it seems daunting at first, but once you know where to go and what to do, it's fairly streamlined. The First task you're given is to go to your room, and this puzzle pretty much summarizes how hard this game really is. there is no real way to mess up badly where you need to save every time you do something. it lets you go at your own pace and exploring the ship, some stuff you do require some time to figure out, "What the hell you're supposed to do" I've had many moments like that my first time around. but you're limited enough in options with endless inventory space where you don't have many problems with figuring things out.
The mapping system is really creative where you use line patterns to find your room, and hovering over it translates it for you. you can even not rooms for yourself and I thought that was one of the best things with this game. The animations between rooms is a bit annoying but you can at least skip them so that's a huge plus.
The Aesthetic of the game, oh man. As someone biased to old 3D with the hard shadows, soft lighting, and clunky animations. It's more or less something I absolutely love, and it made me get a physical of this game. The music can range from super creepy and ominous to annoyingly cheerful with the midi sound. It's not grading most of the time but a couple rooms are pretty bad, luckily you don't deal with them for very long, I'm pretty sure it's intentional though.
Overall game? Mostly depends I'd place this as a beginner friendly MYST-like game, the puzzles aren't hard to figure out and the dialogue can be really fun, the atmosphere might be a turn-off for some people, but the game makes up for it without trying to push you too hard no real time constraints. The Inclusion of Douglass Adams really helps the game feel faithful to the universe of Hitch-hiker's Guide, while being different enough where that's not integral to the overall game.
If I was to rate this, 8/10. which it was longer personally.

I have beaten this game a few years ago, so a bit of nostalgia applies here. This is a first person adventure game in the style of Myst and other similar games that come out back in the day. The game has a somewhat obtuse story and the puzzles seems to have no logic at times, but overall the animations and the music are very good and the characters are funny. Not so much for the gameplay.

Okay so as a huge Douglas Adams fan, I had to play this game. And I do enjoy it and recommand it, i love the game writing, but however I do recommand playing it with a guide, as the game never gives any clue as to what to do next and without a guide you're just wandering and trying to figure out the story and stuff. I'm 40 now. I played this when it was new and I was 16 and I remember it being a challenge. It took me me about 4 months to beat it in 1998. Hardcore Douglas Adams fan BTW. I don't have that kind of free time in 2022 so I cheated. Plus I don't have the box anymore so it was kinda necessary. I love that you need to type and ask certain questions in order to convince the robots to do a task. Or to get clues.

24 years later, the game is still horrendously clunky and my lateral thinking has not improved.
Each puzzle has only one solution. Clues and breadcrumbing to the solutions are very obtuse, and in some cases are arbitrary. If you're not thinking in exactly the same way as the designer, you'll need a walkthrough.
Without a walkthrough, it's possible to get irreversibly stuck if you do things in the wrong order. I got stuck by feeding the parrot to the delivery system before I ever got a feather. Game soft-locks at this point, as you need a feather to retrieve the parrot.
Even with a walkthrough, the game is tedious back-and-forth. Apparently they spent $2M on developing this game. I can only imagine much of that budget went to John Cleese's and Terry Jones' voice acting.
I couldn't make head or tail of this game back in the summer of 1998, and I can't make head or tail of it today.
A sad finale to Douglas Adams' creative life.
I discovered Douglas Adams' novels a few years ago, starting with the iconic "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series and have fallen in love with all of his books ever since. I was excited to try out the video game he had been in charge of, although I was aware that the puzzles in the game were a bit "out there" and confusing. I figured that I was smart enough to to figure them out for myself.

But before I get into that, I'll start with the game's positives. The game has a cool setting and has a pretty good soundtrack (The song that plays at the Top of the Well is by far my favorite). It's got good voice acting featuring Python legends John Cleese and Terry Jones (I was mildly disappointed that Cleese didn't get a larger role in the game like Terry did), and the dialogue is goofy and very clearly done by Douglas Adams with his bizarre, British sense of humor. Locations in the game were very unique-- I enjoyed the bizarre and eerie Creators' Chambers and the singing boat bots in the Arboretum. The game also has a plot, and a pretty enjoyable one. I'd even say it's worth it to read through the Creators' emails even if you have to suffer through and optional puzzle to access them.
Right, the puzzles. I hate the puzzles. They're elaborate, bizarre, and nearly impossible to solve without a walkthrough. Naturally, I relied heavily on a walkthrough while playing, although I am very proud to say that I did solve about a quarter of them on my own. The game took me about 7 hours to beat, but I'll bet a good hour and a half of that was spent with me just scratching my head wondering how anyone managed to beat this in 1998 before YouTube walkthroughs existed. Overall, I had a fun time exploring the ship and it was satisfying to finish, plus the game is pretty cheap. But I am a little torn on this one... I'll give it a solid

A masterpiece of nonsense. Wonderful writing and head-scratchingly hard puzzles. Douglas Adam's hand is obvious in all the writing - along side great voice actors like John Cleese and Terry Jones.
When it comes to spoilers and people who leave negative reviews I've got one thing to say: "Nobody likes a smartass".
This is one of the most frustrating games I have ever played. I understand the puzzles are meant to be obtuse as many think that adds to the humor. HOWEVER, unless you follow a guide this game is virtually impossible. Again, I understand the game was deliberately design to goof on games of this genre, but it's rough to play especially when many of its step cannot reasonably be solved through human intuition. If you love the adventure game genre, this might give a quick laugh or two, but you will quickly tire of its design and structure.
Finally, I understand that the game adapts Douglas Adams' book of the same name. Nonetheless, the overlapping dialogue and the over the top humor is not for everyone.
This is one of my favorite childhood games it brings back so much nostalgia and good memories playing with my dad and my uncle. We all worked through the puzzles together and had so much fun exploring the luxurious start class starship that couldn’t possibly go wrong…

This game isn't really playable without a guide. You'll have exhausted all possibilities before looking up the guide and realizing that a mechanic existed that you had never been introduced to or had any hints might exist.

I am very nostalgic for Myst era pre-rendered graphics so I took interest in this game right from the store page. Even though it can be visually similar to games of the era, Starship Titanic is a point and click like no other on the market. The games character design and mechanics are super clever and well made. This game surprised me over and over again. The ability to type your response instead of choosing pre-made answers allows you to feel a better connection to the game's world. The game got confusing at points and the voice acting, like many games from the 90s, got pretty cheesy at points. If you enjoy pre-rendered point and click adventure titles, this game proved to be a refreshing twist on the traditional formula and is easily worth the money.
This game was my most memorable game after I went to college. My memory is awful but I started watching someone else play this and I remembered everything like it was yesterday. It's just one that sticks with you. It's just so different...in a good way! It's definitely worth a play.
Really charming game with witty writing, as one would expect from Adams. Ok, hear me out. If you are obsessed with Douglas Adams then yes, you should play this game. But please read on... I feel the casual fan or regular gamer won't get much out of this. As a game it's darn near unplayable and confusing. I'm not just saying "The puzzles are hard". I'm saying the game doesn't really even give you rules to the puzzles. Nothing in this game even explains to the player that a puzzle is even in front of them at times. It completely lacks any kind of instructions that can guide the player into knowing what to do. The PET (basically the players user interface) is never even explained, so good luck figuring out navigation (and how to use it for required challenges). I just wanted the story so I looked up a walkthrough. I feel confident in saying this game is non-playable/non-winnable without doing the same. The game itself never tells the player about certain features and even controls you must use in order to beat required challenges.
As Douglas Adams final work I recommend this game to fans of his. But to a general audience, I feel like there is nothing here for them.
Starship Titanic is an ancient classic adventure game with a comedy/science fiction theme penned by none other than Douglas Adams, of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy fame.
Certainly an excellent premise for a game, unfortunately it's just far too dated, fixed resolution and 4:3 pillarboxed display only. Definitely worthy of a remake, but this current edition is too old, and the $6 USD price tag is an unfortunate nostalgia gouge.
I tried this game on Linux Mint and at first the game wouldn't launch at all. I tried running various compatibility options(proton) and none worked. I cut off the Force Compatibility option and then all of a sudden the game launched. I created a save game and restarted, but it wouldn't let me load it. I shut down the game and tried again and it worked. I asked "Who's the Captain" to one of the robots and the game crashed to desktop. After 26mins I'm giving up, as I don't want to get stuck with a buggy game. I've gotten stuck with a game before because the 2-hour game time limit for a refund expired while I was trying to troubleshoot. I checked the reviews on the game and it seems that the bugs are not OS specific, as Windows users complained about the same thing.
I wish this game worked properly, as I am a fan of Point/Click games, Monty Python, and Douglas Adams, but it seems this port was released before all the bugs were fixed. I don't know if the bugs were present in the original game, or a result of porting it through ScummVM, but hopefully this review will give those interested in buying this a heads-up before they waste their money.

Amazing, especially for when it was written and quite challenging, although I don't usually play games!
Lovely piece of nostalgia - still holds up well as a good-looking game which has neat, tricky puzzles to solve.
I love this game. Reminds me of my childhood. The music is great and the puzzle is easy to solve. It is a short but beautiful game with a cool storyline.
I was gifted this game as a child when the game had been released on CD. Being the impatient child I was, I quickly got stuck, ragingly frustrated, and gave up on the game.
As some of the puzzle solutions were included on the packaging itself, I had to google a few solutions, but I can now move on with my life content with the knowledge and childish satisfaction that the game didn't beat me in the end.
this game holds up and is cool as hell.
Books based on games don't work out
This is one of my favorite games from when I was a kid. This update is actually better that the original. It actually consistently plays without crashing!
Seriously though, This is a great game from the point and click era. You should consider getting it if you found this item in the store.
Knowing where to go is quite impossible at first, as are the moon logic puzzels to figure out on your own.
But with the aid of outside guides, it is a worthwile experience with a ton of surreal charm not found in any other game or medium.
A fantastic, hysterical game with tough puzzles and good story - which you can totally ignore if you like, So great that I purchased it again on Steam when the opportunity arose.
A comedic and obtuse adventure game, somewhat similar to Monkey Island mixed with Myst.
I bought this for nostalgia's sake, since I at one point had the CD and 3D glasses and brochure ("Why not enjoy our first class restaurant or the bar? Because you booked Super Galactic Traveler class. That's why not.") but it seems to be rife with instability. I put the TV out before I inflated the bed in the SGT suite and that made the bed hang up instead. Oops. Now it's stuck in that position, mostly closed or in an animation cycle that opens it through the cleaning receptacle and right back to the nearly closed position. Restarting game.
Now it's Mother. She suffered a graphical hangup trying to spit out her blockage and now behaves like it was already removed, but only when I try to get her to spit it out; the object isn't there and the succ-u-bus system is still plugged up system-wide. Rerestarting game.
Krage, I have decided that this ungrateful parrot doesn't deserve to have a TV. Destroy it for me. Oh, you crashed the program instead.
There's nostalgia and there's splattering ghastliness, and I really shouldn't be blowing up. So I'll put off rerestarting 'til another day and this time stick with the old credo: save early, safe often, use different slots... but only because Steam would tell me I've already spent too long at it for a refund. Even at a buck fifty I can't recommend a trip down this memory lane.
An absolute classic. A series of challenging and satisfying puzzles wrapped up in the delightfully absurd humour of Douglas Adams. Your perception of small hotel rooms, travel upgrades, and starlings will never be the same again.
In addition, a game in which you are the only human on a cruise ship seems pretty fitting for the Covid-19 era.

Have played this game many many times since I originally bought it in 1998. So happy it's on Steam and runs on updated systems. It's beautiful, great environments, puzzles and characters. Sorry about the parrot.
I had this game when I was a kid and never got the chance to beat it. I'm so glad it turned up on Steam so I could finally finish it!
Its short, and it does suffer from some old-school problems (its possible to lose some necessary items), but it also has the old-school adventure game charm. And it was written by Douglas Adams, so thats great.
This is a graphical adventure with a first-person, pre-rendered, view. This might have seemed like a good idea at the time, but it makes movement confusing to me. The rest of the interface is little better, relying on an odd mixture of inscrutable icons and text conversation. Early in the game I'm supposed to take an elevator, from "the top of the Well" to my room. By trial and error I found the Well, but nothing that looks like an elevator. Not recommended unless you like frustration.

Great classic! Way ahead of it's time in terms of game-play point of view. An amazing puzzle, cerebro similar to Myst.
This game get's away with a lot of techniques to make the ship feel LARGE. It's dry Monty Python Humor, so if you aren't a fan it can be hard to take in. However, I find the weird puzzles and the world itself to be enough to satisfy any 90s point-and-click fan.
Had this game as a kid and always loved it. Never been very good at it, but I love it. It's witty, fun, and has amazing art and music.
So glad to see this classic end up on Steam.

An oldie but goodie. I loved this game as a kid, although I wasn't really old enough to understand and solve the puzzles - I just liked talking to the robots! As I got older, the CDs wouldn't run on more modern computers so I was quite sad that I wasn't able to play anymore. I was absolutely delighted when Starship Titanic became available to play on Steam - and now I actually play properly and solve the puzzles! The setting and the characters are all wonderfully bizarre, as you would expect from something created by Douglas Adams, with hilarious dialogue voiced by Terry Jones, John Cleese and Adams himself. If you're an Adams fan - this is for you. Don't forget to press the button!

Really happy to find this game on steam. A great piece of nostalgia from my childhood that I loved running through again. If you liked myst and like Douglas Adams then you need to play this game.
