Если X-Wing заставлял тебя потеть за повстанцев, то здесь ты (вот неожиданность, играешь за Империю). Однако это не бенальный рескин X-Wing. Это принципиальной иной геймплей, потому как считов то у тиров нет) То есть ты полагаешься только на маневрненность и скорость. Звук — чистый кайф, фирменный визг двигателей и звук пушек TIE это просто отвал головы. Кроме того тут есть таинственные "секретные миссии" с совершенно другими наградами, что добавляет интереса к и без того интересному геймплею.

- Такое ж издание, как и X-Wing досовская классика, улучшенная сиди-версия и special версия на новом движке.
- (Сомнительно) Возможность поиграть за другую сторону конфликта, за "плохих"
- Тоже несколько видов кораблей, правда их нужно сначала заслужить.
- Есть взаимодействие со своим звеном, можно отдавать команды, что люто радует. А также, т.к. мы за "плохих", можно вызывать подклепления
- Сюжет гораздо интереснее и закрученнее

- Также нужен геймпад, без него неиграбельно
- Из-за иной сути кораблей, она показалась ещё сложнее, чем x-wing.
- Та же ерунда, русиша нету, а без него вникать в контекст тяжеловато

Эта часть по праву считается одним из лучших космосимов по Звездным Войнам. Она бодрее, разнообразнее и сюжетно глубже, чем X-Wing. Но порог вхождения всё такой же высокий: либо ты учишься жить без щитов и ловить тайминги, либо удаляешь игру через 10 минут. Если готов стать «правой рукой» Вейдера и не боишься трудностей оно стоит того. Бегом покупать! [/b]

Si alguna vez soñaste con ser el “malo” del espacio y descubrir que el Imperio también tiene burocracia, turnos extra y cero sindicato… STAR WARS™: TIE Fighter Special Edition te cumple el deseo. Esto es Acción, sí, pero de la vieja escuela: cabina, instrumentos, persecuciones, láseres y decisiones que se sienten como “o aprendes a pilotear o aprendes a perder”.

La propuesta es simple y deliciosamente cruel: eres un piloto de TIE, un engrane reemplazable en una máquina enorme, y tu trabajo es sobrevivir misión tras misión en combates espaciales que no te piden amablemente que “te diviertas”, te exigen que mejores. Primera impresión: un clásico noventero que todavía se cree examen final… y lo es.

Y como es edición “Special”, no esperes magia moderna tipo “te llevo de la manita”. Aquí la fantasía es auténtica: volar, apuntar, administrar y rezar. La Fuerza no te ayuda; el manual (mental) sí.

STAR WARS™: TIE Fighter Special Edition es ese recordatorio incómodo de que antes los juegos de Acción en el espacio no te pedían permiso para frustrarte. Te daba un asiento, un panel lleno de cosas, y te decía: “Vuela.” ¿Divertido? Sí. ¿Amigable? No. Y justo ahí está su encanto controversial: es más simulador espacial que paseo turístico.

Con 527 recomendaciones totales, queda claro que tiene su culto bien cimentado. Pero con 3 jugadores actuales, también queda claro que es un club pequeño: los que se quedaron, se quedaron por convicción. Si tú eres de los que disfrutan aprender sistemas y dominar misiones, vale la pena. Si buscas modernidad, brillo y recompensas constantes… el Imperio te va a despedir en el primer briefing.

This is by far one of the best Star Wars games ever made and it still holds up pretty well for a PC game from over thirty years ago. The storyline is very immersive and convinces you the Empire are the good guys and the space combat is top notch. I highly recommend using an old school flight joystick for authenticity and easier play. We didn't have Xbox controllers in 1994.

One of the greatest PC games of all time. You are the EMPIRE... tasked to keep peace between waring species. The game came out when Bubba was trying to distract the nation from a certain intern and got the USA involved in some 'peace keeping' actions. A wonderful reflection on current times and a big part of my youth. I come back and replay the game in its entirety once every year or two. This and X-Wing Alliance are masterpieces.

Läuft auf auf dem Steam Deck absolut perfekt. Man muss sich nur die Mühe machen die Steuerung anzupassen aber das ist dank guter Community-Layouts schnell gemacht.
Ein super Spiel mit toller Atmosphäre aus besseren Zeiten, was auch im Jahr 2025 noch Spaß macht.

I love this game. I played Xwing and TIE Fighter both as "new releases" ***BOOMER DETECTED*** and they really did it for me. Fast forward to now, and the games still have their original charm, since nobody bothered to make a modern SW combat sim. HOWEVER the game is JANK AS ♥♥♥♥ and will crash randomly. The keybinds will confuse you and your controller will jitter when trying to clutch a shot. You've been warned.

Vice Admiral Thrawn makes his first out-of-book appearance here (Heir to the Empire series). While Legends, he's still a fantastic character.

Absolutely could not get it to work on Windows 11 or linux. Special Edition, Classic, I even wasted 2 hours trying to download the Total Conversion mod until I realized none of the bindings would save. Within 5 seconds of rebinding, the game would forget them again. And in the regular Tie Fighter editions themselves, neither my mouse nor my flight stick were recognized. Unfortunate to say, but do not buy.

First flight sim I ever played, so there's a fair amount of nostalgia that goes into this, but still a better Star Wars flight sim than anything they've released in recent years. I keep looking for that same high I got flying a TIE Defender against squadrons of fighters, and nothing matches up.

Not a fan of the Star Wars films or universe but the franchise did spawn some brilliant games, this being one of the best of them and remains to this day one of the greatest space combat sims out there. Has deep mechanics, varied missions and while the presentation may seem dated, everything is very clear and you can tell exactly what's going on. Highly recommend using a joystick or at least a gamepad tho, KB+M controls like ass.

It is like my childhood all over again. Best part is we aren't using ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gravis pads now lol. Make sure to find a layout in the controller support that works for you. Some people were smart and gifted enough to make em, I wish I could edit it better so that I could move buttons around but either way, the one I found from webprimer I think his name is, is the best for my xbox controller. Also make sure you up the cycles to about 80k using ctrl f12, hit alt enter to make it window and look at what the cycles say. 80k makes it less stuttery.

It works well, I suggest using the cd collectors edition because it has Imuse which makes the music change depending on what is going on. Plus it has the best graphics IMO.

Go to there, find the doxbox_tiecd.conf, open with notepad.

I didn't know they made a special edition when I bought it for 5 bucks from the last sale they had. Cause of may the 4th, I totally forgot about tie fighter but yeah, just do that. Also if it doesn't full screen, alt+enter full screens it. The last time I Played Tie Fighter CD edition was when it was released for win95.

All in all, there is some drifting that happens when you try to precise aim... Go to the same conf file and do this...

The first time I played SW: TIE Fighter was when it was released in 1994. By then I was already a hardened veteran of SW: X-Wing and Wing Commander I and II.

X-Wing and Wing Commander shall always be defining moments in the history of space flight simulators. But TIE Fighter was a noted improvement over anything I had played before. It defied my expectations and became one of my favourite space-based shoot-em-ups of all time.

For better or worse, I obsessed over this game in my teenage years. Many a Friday night, while others my age were carousing at bush parties, I was happily nerding out in front of my IBM PC, blasting Rebel scum into oblivion. Time well spent or time well wasted? It doesn't matter - I loved every minute...except when pesky A-wings picked apart my Assault Gunboat!

I loved this one more than X-Wing back in the day. I didn't have a joystick then so it was all keyboard.

But if you don't have a joystick still sitting around since the 1990s, don't bother.

Unless you like the idea of flying with a mouse....

Once considered the greatest Star Wars game of all-time. Possibly still is.

Looks amazing with easy-to-find 3D hardware wrapper DLLs, and plays like butter, at any resolution. Looks, and plays, good in OG software mode as well, frankly -- although it seems more stable in hardware 3D mode with the wrapper DLLs.

The game is hard. Tie Fighters are flimsy, and dying means starting over the entire campaign. Not joking -- hardcore mode is the only option, because Tie Fighter pilots are just that. That said, the game is worth playing again and again until you have a pilot who can survive an entire campaign, or all of them -- it is that good.

Mission design is amazing. You cannot just sit in your comfort zone, and win -- you must use your fighter to it's fullest potential, in many missions. You must be good, and when you win, you will feel like you are an elite Tie Fighter pilot, because _you are one_. Puts modern games to shame, in many ways. Works good with a controller + keyboard (sounds complex, but hey, you're flying a starfighter, and it's not too bad), and if you have a flightstick, you are in starfighter heaven.

You always wanted to fly for the Empire. You know its true. That Tie Fighter flyby sound is so satisfying, and blowing up those Rebel whiners... well that's fun too. Now is your chance.

My childhood in a nutshell and frankly still one of the greatest flight sims / star wars game in my books. I would not recommend playing the windows version that this one ships with. The collectors cd-rom is the superior version because of the Imuse system used for the music. Sure the dosbox emulation is not perfect and requires some tweaking to get it run somewhat smoothly though you probably still get fps drops when looking bigger ships but it is worth it. Plus you can play the dos version with mouse and keyboard which I did.

9/10 only because emulation slow downs, maybe one day there is a fork for dosbox that fixes that and gives smooth experience.

Ein Jahr nach X-Wing haben wir die Seiten gewechselt und flogen für den Imperator. In einem Tie Fighter stirbts sich ohne Schilde ganz schön schnell. Am eigentlichen Spielprinzip hat sich zum Glück nichts geändert; mit einem bisschen Simulationseinschlag stürzen wir uns in actiongeladene Kämpfe. Die Grafik wirkt heute natürlich etwas angebrütet, gerade, wenn wir das mit Star Wars Squadrons vergleichen, aber dem Spielspaß tut es keinen Abbruch. Also ärgern wir uns am Anfang über die Steuerung und die ständigen Abschüsse (also die erfolgreichen Abschüsse des Gegners) und können doch nicht aufhören. Nach einer Weile haben wir die Tasten verinnerlicht, uns an die Gamepad-Steuerung gewöhnt (ja, die gibt es in der Special Edition) und schon fluppt es. Schlussendlich ein alter Klassiker, der auch heute noch richtig Freude macht.

I'm sure it's great and all, but trying to find out how to get the controls to work on the Steam Deck is awful. If someone manages to figure out a great control scheme, I'd give it a second shot. If you don't want to do that, avoid it.

Classic of the genre.

Today, with X-Wing ported to the Tie Fighter engine, the differences between the games are less obvious, but at the time of Tie's release, it was a big step forward.

The graphics were improved, many ships were added, missions became more interesting (although some remained just as nerve-wracking). And, of course, the biggest change: you now play as the good guys instead of separatists.

Plays well on Deck.

i played this game many years ago. Being able to play it again and a few other old star wars game brought back nostalgia and happiness that i thought i would never get back. Its helped reinforce my love of gaming from old school titles to new ones. If i was more program savvy i would tweak the graphics a bit but overall enjoy the old school graphics.

Great game! It was one of my first games where I would play as the bad guys - it was confusing for me as a kid, but once I started to play it, I enjoyed every minute of it. At the time it felt very realistic. Not easy, but not too difficult. It's a tie fighter simulator, playing with a mouse can work but it's a pain in the ass when you have to 180 yourself because an A-wing flies past you heading right towards the imperial shuttle.(And now I have been demoted for letting that A-wing kill an imperial officer)

Absolute hyperbanger classic, genre that barely even exists anymore, and certainly not near this level of care. Takes you on a real fun ride, makes great use of dynamic music and plays fun as hell to this day. Plus, seems like they sorted out most of the compatibility issues with this port. Big recommend!

Naively I thought that the Mac version was a new port for the mac. Silly me. It uses a version of DOSBox and for whatever reason my modern graphics card just will not redraw graphics quickly enough to make for a playable game. If i work out how to request a refund I will.
