Нужно понимать, что это порт версии с Dreamcast, а не полноценный ремейк. Геймплей остался в 2000 году со всеми его особенностями: корявыми прыжками и местами дубовой боёвкой.
Однако же, несмотря на это играется вполне бодро.
Во-первых, нам насыпали больше 10 играбельных персонажей. Во-вторых, игра следует канону фильма и рассчитана была на тех, кто его посмотрел и идёт воображать себя великим Оби Ваном (или Дарт Молом). В третьих атмосфера сохранена, от музыки до звука бластера, всё то самое, аутентичное. И в четвёртых, есть локальный кооператив! Но не забываем, что это платформер "старой школы" для большинства он будет сложноват, но можно приловчиться.
Можно с кентяриком забабахать прохождение на вечер (если он есть)

Tuhle hru jsem hrál u kamaráda na PS1 a měl jsem z ní skvělý pocit, takže remaster byla jasná volba. A musím říct, že se povedl. Přidává achievementy a všechny se dají zvládnout zhruba za 7 hodin. Hra není nijak extrémně těžká, i když se občas objeví bugy (např. rozbité větráky v jednom z pozdějších levelů). Největší výzvou je ale legendární aréna ve 14. levelu.

Grafika 10/10
Remaster skvěle kombinuje modernější vizuál s původním stylem. Postavy si zachovávají „PS1 look“, což působí nostalgicky – například Mace Windu s typicky velkou hlavou je skvělý detail.

Gameplay 8/10
Klasická beat ‘em up akce – světelný meč, schopnosti, sbírání boostů a životů. Souboje jsou zábavné, ale platformové pasáže dokážou potrápit. Skákání mezi plošinami je někdy frustrující a snadno při něm spadnete. Rozhodně doporučuji hrát na gamepadu – klávesnice není ideální.

Hra sleduje děj prvního filmu Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Levely fungují jako interaktivní kulisy známých scén.

AI 6/10
Nepřátelé většinou jen bezhlavě útočí. Někdy jich je až moc, což může být spíš frustrující než výzva.

Shrnutí:
Důstojný remaster klasiky, který potěší hlavně fanoušky Star Wars a nostalgiky. Zábavný gameplay s pár frustrujícími momenty. 8/10 – ať vás provází Síla.

Se você gosta de clássicos do final dos anos 90 e início dos 2000, STAR WARS™: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles™ é uma verdadeira cápsula do tempo da era do primeiro PlayStation e Dreamcast.

Ele é um jogo de ação e plataforma (Beat 'em up), que reconta os eventos de A Ameaça Fantasma, mas com um foco muito maior no combate frenético com sabres de luz do que na narrativa fiel do filme.

As conquistas são fáceis de pegar, não tive problemas de platinar o game

"It was okay." - 2 out of 5 rating.

No way is this worth full price, aka $20. On sale, for like $5, if you are a diehard Star Wars fan, sure. But yeah - definitely wait for a sale on this one.

It's a very old game that has not aged well. While it may be fun at surface level, it more so offers an extremely short and mostly frustrating experience with jumping puzzles and an extremely challenging combat system that resets you back to the the beginning of the map.

Back during its initial launch, with a controller versus trying to play this thing on a keyboard, where the world had nothing better/seen anything like this before - I bet this was great. Today in 2026? Not so much....

My respect to developers for doing absolutely nothing on this re...collection of money for old game. It takes skill and experience to bring the playstation game to a state worse than it originally was.
In essense: no old bugs were fixed, new bugs introduced, "new graphics" are just better resolution textures on poligons, combos are even harder to perform than on PS1.

I remember playing this banger of a game in early 2000's on my Sega Dreamcast. Nevertheless, this port is unresponsive, poorly made and DEFINITELY not worth this type of money.
If you find playing old games enjoyable, I would strongly recommend emulating this one on Sega Dreamcast, as this version was supreme to the said console's technical properties.
What a shame Aspyr hit us with a lazy cash grab.
20-25$ for a poorly implemented port after 20 years? Licorice levels of bad aftertaste.

Mismos bugs de plataformas y colisiones, droides inmisericordes y varias mejoras gráficas, de personalización, de rejugabilidad (varios nuevos personajes jugables con el nuevo modo Nueva Partida+) y mejoras de QoL. 10 de 10. Si vienes de la versión de PS1 es un merecido y necesario come back, con las mejoras de la versión de Dreamcast y más. Muy recomendado. (Problemas encontrados: Freezeos y bugs menores. Puedes a lo sumo perder el progreso de un nivel pero no es un problema recurrente, es perfectamente jugable).

PD: Si planeas pasarlo en Jedi Mode con Plo Koon, buena suerte con Maul al final :'v

Slop of the worst order, remastering an already terrible game with bad gameplay, but not introducing any genuine QOL features, improving the gameplay, keeping the visual style intact but upscaled by AI because it's Aspyr and we love it, the menus are reminiscent of a Spyware fan remaster that somehow made it onto steam without anyone noticing, yet alone being taken down immediatly from the company that made it before, people should unironically stop trusting Aspyr at this point, play this using PCSX2 or buy a PS2 yourself and play it, this remaster done by AIspyr serves nothing else than to prove what they're good at doing, unnecessary AI usage and doing nothing else besides providing the bare minimum of what a "remaster" is, and overpricing it, good job! Enjoy the success of your bare minimum efforts and cancel all production on the DX Remaster

I had a great time playing this game with my friends, finding secrets, with responsive controls, learning new moves for all the characters...... back in the year 2000. This is a pale imitation of the greatness that was the original and I can only imagine the apathy with which the current devs harnessed to create this abomination. Save your money, not even worth it when on sale.

Buggy, Janky, terrible platforming, silly puzzles and broken fights.

10/10 game of the year! ;P Loved this, took me right back to my early teens.
Despite the games issues it is alot of fun and the jank adds to the hilarity.

If you played this in the past you'd probly get a laugh out of a playthrough or two as I did.
This is defi another oldie that should've got a remake over a remaster but I'm glad to have experienced the madness that is jedi power battles once again.

I loved this game growing up. It was definitely rough around the edges but it had charm. This remake very much missed the mark on bringing this game to the PC. The most glaring issue is no online multiplayer. I bought two copies of this game hoping to enjoy some nostalgia with a friend only to be disappointed. It is local split screen only. This is one of the most important features to me when it comes to "updating" an old title for the modern era.

The controls in the original were undeniably bad. This version managed to make it worse. The attack combos are clunky and much harder to pull off. Combos for things like run + attack activate on a hit or miss basis which results in taking unnecessary damage. Special vehicle stages and boss fights barely function. To remedy this they nerfed the bosses. Environments that were destroyable and gave small amounts of XP were removed. Which makes it impossible to achieve the highest score on the stage and gain additional combos and special moves.

I keep finding small changes that make the game worse. The item icons were changed making it harder to tell what an item on the ground is. The character select screen was changed from all the characters animated in the jedi council room to a black screen with character cards. Mace Windu's lightsaber on the PS1 was blue and it has been changed to purple.

Overall I am disappointed and I don't think the developer is going to come back and fix anything. I would find an "alternative" method to enjoy this classic instead.

Super jeu que j'avais eu l'occasion de faire plusieurs fois dans sa première version (non remasterisé). Je suis très satisfait de se remaster, c'est la version dreamcast qui a été choisi pour retravailler le jeu est c'est un très bon choix (la version la plus opti et belle de l'époque), je suis content de voir que plusieurs nouveaux persos on été ajouté au jeu ainsi que tous les persos exclusif aux différentes versions du jeu de l'époque, cependant l'ajout d'une coop en ligne aurait été appréciée. Pour conclure, c'est un excellent remaster de se jeu mythique qui est toujours aussi fun à jouer de nos jours, c'est un grand oui de mon côté, en tant que passionné de Star Wars je ne peux que vous le recommander. Que la force soit avec vous !

It's one of the few Star Wars game that allows Co-Op. Originally was released years ago on Playstation, Dreamcast & Xbox Consoles. The game is pretty much exactly the Playstation replica but there's perks.
- You do get all the characters already unlocked and that's really nice. The reason why I bought this game was because this had that feature. Many characters were exclusive to it's console release.
- It's pretty much a Remaster version game with some higher graphical-resolution.

Look for the sale and buy it. If you have another Star Wars friend, it'll be a few hours fun.

As far as a rerelease goes, it is good, it is nice to be able to play the game on a modern PC in 2025. The gameplay is really dated though. I would say this is better as a nostalgic throwback and a collector's item, than a modern star wars gaming experience.

Aspyr ports usually get a bad rep but I enjoy them for bringing games i loved from my childhood and genuinely still enjoy to this day to modern consoles / pc when some weren't available at first. This is not one of those. Its actually a decent port, just the original game was not good. This is a clunky & janky action game from 2000 that even on release wasnt held in high regard. Its short, buggy, janky, and just not fun to play. The final boss everyone just accepts you have to cheese to beat (only 8% completion rate for the easy mode of this on steam btw). Its a really bad game that I do appreciate i can play on modern pc now and it plays well but doesnt help that it was always a bad game

Versión remasterizada del clasico de Playstation y Dreamcast, se siente algo más ajustado en cuanto a controles, en los gráficos creo que podían haber hecho algo más. Han simplificado cosas, menos objetos del mundo que se pueden romper, ajustado colores de los sables laser de algunos personajes para ser fieles a las películas (Aunque a Plo Koon le quede mil veces mejor el amarillo) y han metido nuevos personajes jugables que quizás deberían haber dejado como desbloqueables. Lo recomiendo mucho, es muy entretenido, arcade, con cierto grado de customización de los personajes (vida, fuerza y combos). Otro ejemplo de los grandes juegos de Star Wars de los 00s

Es gibt gute Brawler-Games, aber das hier ist keines davon - zumindest, wenn man es nicht im 2-Player-COOP spielt, sondern solo UND heutzutage.
Es sieht furchtbar aus, hat furchtbare Sounds, ein schlichtes Leveldesign, super cringe abgehackte Animationen - ja, so war das damals. Aber ich glaube schon dort war dieses Lizenzprodukt nur ein schnell dahin geklatschtes Machwerk in der Riege der Filmumsetzungen, was pünktlich auf dem Markt sein musste.

Finger weg. Es sei denn die Nostalgiebrille kickt rein.

Me and my younger brother played this game on the PS1, is it a great game? Not really, however I feel this game is a slightly more generous with its platforming, I remember the original being much less forgiving.

However I feel like this is slightly more enjoyable for it.

Cuando era chico, muchas veces intente pasar este juego en el PS1, pero nunca pude. Pasó el tiempo y ya mas grande, lo intente jugar en emuladores varias veces, pero lamentablemente ya no era un niño, el tiempo había hecho lo suyo, por lo que a pesar de ser el mismo juego, no era como lo recordaba.
Considerando lo anterior, es probable que este no sea ni el mejor titulo, ni la mejor remasterización, pero al jugarlo, se sintió como si hubiera viajado al pasado a revivir ese recuerdo nostálgico tenía en mi memoria.
Tras muchos años, al fin puedo decir ¡lo pasé!

I am glad there is an interest in re-making classic Lucas Arts games, however, if you were hoping for a re-make; then this one misses the mark. I would call this a re-imagining. The graphics are very nicely cleaned up for current gen displays, and it is nice to have network multi-player; but the levels are changed (I think to make the platforming easier) and there is lost functionality of the environment (i.e. no more destroying trade federation consoles for points).

If you knew all the in's and out's of this game and were hoping to re-experience that, then you will be disappointed. If you are still dead-set on getting the game, wait for a sale.

ну что сказать, взяли почти всё худшее, разве что анимацию перед выстрелами оставили, и на том спасибо.
1. нет прокачки персонажа = игра теряет смысла
на плойке была прокачка, новые комбо, новые скилы, увеличеный хп и манапул. Тут этого нет. Комбинации только базовые три удара.
2. блокировка выстрела не мгновенная как на плойке, а с таймингом к которому надо привыкать и все равно получается через жопу.
3. открытые персонажи это хорошо, но конкретно пройти маула могут всего пара-тройка, Оби-Ван, Квайгон, может еще кто-то не тестил.
4. не разрушаемость объектов, да бог с ней....
5. жирнючий минус летающим дронам, в них нельзя отразить выстрелы и они убивают уши всю игру.

Честно говоря для меня самым разочаро́вывающим был опыт игры за Маула, урезанную китайскую версию персонажа, встретившись с ним в конце игры понимаешь всю ущербность своего китайского вафела.

Я бы вернул деньги за эту игру, хоть и ностальгия и это была моя первая игра по ЗВ в детствею

A lot of changes in the game. it used to be that you could destroy controls for points. I don't think new players would know that they would have to destroy the controls on stage 10 to stop the fans from going... I notice some bugs. The Mutant Armadillo at stage 5 I noticed that it got tanky almost like its health increased as I faced with other Jedis not sure if that's supposed to happen. At coruscant on stage 6. The ships that are supposed to crash into each other. Didn't crash when it should have. I was working on the 15000 pts at stage 10 where Darth Maul is and as I beat him the game stopped. I had to start over. I hope that my comment helps get these bugs fixed. Overall the game is really fun. It's a lot more fun with another player. I love the achievement challenges it helps make the game more fun with the nostalgia. I'm still struggling with Plo-koon at stage 10. XD

It's still all about side-scrolling, lightsaber-wielding action as you battle through ten distinct levels, from the battlefields of the Trade Federation to Theed's royal palace, all wrapped in nostalgic Phantom Menace flair.

This new version feels thoughtful rather than flashy. You can now change your lightsaber colors, and there are thirteen new playable characters.

The areas and characters also look a bit better, and the gameplay feels more balanced.
The game feels familiar, but smoother: you run, jump, slash, deflect blaster shots, and use Force powers to overcome waves of droids, assassins, and environmental hazards, often clinging to nearby enemies to keep the flow going. Playing together in local co-op is satisfying once again; you and a friend can play the entire campaign and minigames side-by-side.
If you've ever wanted to share that old-school Jedi thrill with a friend on the couch, this is the quiet solution.

My first exposure to Jedi Power Battles was on the PS1, playing couch co-op with my older brother. I remember the platforming being tough and Darth Maul giving us real trouble. That boss fight felt straight-up soulslike back then.

Jumping into the Steam remaster, the first thing I noticed was that I couldn’t destroy the panels in the first level like I used to. That threw me off for a second. But otherwise? The game runs perfectly on the Steam Deck. Surprisingly, the platforming wasn’t nearly as frustrating this time around. Maybe I’ve just got better coordination now. Some spots still suffer from the lack of camera control, but overall it felt easier than I remembered.

The combat is still decent and gets better as you unlock combos (which you still do mid-game), and yep, Darth Maul is still a beast, but beatable.

The downside is replayability. Everything is already unlocked from the start, so once you finish it, there’s not really a reason to come back. It’s a fun nostalgia hit, but after that one run, I just uninstalled it. Worth checking out if you’ve got fond memories, but I’d wait for a deep discount.

I honestly don't know why we let Aspyr keep getting away with these lazy ports.

The patches have made the game more playable in recent months, but on launch it was a buggy mess. I'm not saying the original versions on Dreamcast and PS1 didn't have their issues, but it feels like this was a cheap AI upscale with zero playtesting done. The most heinous offenders being the vehicle levels and the post game content. I don't think this is worth the $12 or so I paid for it.

It's a buggy broken piece of ♥♥♥♥ you can get stuck in the wall and be unable to move or the camera can just fly off so you can't see or a cutscene won't play so you'll be stuck and unable to move and most commonly when the camera has to move up to allow you to access the rest of the level sometimes it doesn't and you have to restart.

Bei diesem Spiel weiss ich wieder, warum es besser ist, solch alte Spiele einfach nur alt sein zu lassen.
Wobei zu "alt" kommt hier noch die Komponente "grässlich" hinzu.

Ich meine, Obi Wan schaut aus wie ein Mutant aus einem Retro-Alptraum für Debile oder wie die 3D Modelle in GTA 1-3 Remake, die ja von Kleinkindern erstellt wurden, wie ich erfahren habe. Hahahaha

Despite all the negativity I'm about to spew, this is a nostalgic game for me that I used to play on the PS1 as a small child. I thought I was going to be biasedly in favour of it, but I guess not!

Poorly made. So many frustrating bugs (the worst being falling through solid ground to your death), and the combat is just awful: from the delay after button presses, to being able to exploit bosses by spamming the basic attack button.

There's next to no narrative, so if you're not already familiar with [i]The Phantom Menace[/i], you probably won't understand what's happening. Most levels just hop from one to the next with no cutscenes (minus a couple of instances) or anything to fill the gaps.

The cherry on top was when [spoiler]Darth Maul just casually jumped into the pit at the end; they didn’t even bother animating his death.[/spoiler] I laughed out loud.

The jank and AI in this outdated game is hilariously bad, even when playing with a friend.

The first hour, you think you're having a good time playing this retro Star Wars game, but overtime the jank starts to get under your skin. You grow frustrated, annoyed even. The controls, the camera, questionable hit boxes, quest objectives, everything is an enemy. The battle droids are somehow doing Tekken combos on you, or uppercuts you like its Mortal Kombat. Padme, as an escort mission, likes to run ahead of you and purposely gets shot multiple times while running towards Super Battle Droids. You fail the mission, and you have to start all over again. The level designs are long, tedious, and wack. For some reason, Darth Maul's orb sentry droids have multiplied into a whole army, and even follows you from Tatooine to Coruscant. Platforming can be surprisingly difficult, but not in a good way. Sometimes, your character of choice doesn't get enough distance or momentum, and you will fall into the abyss, regardless of how you're playing. Sometimes, you'll encounter an enemy who waits patiently for you to jump over the gap, just to shoot you down while you're in mid-air, causing you to fall to your death.

Word of advice? If you're going to purchase and play this game, for your sanity, please do not play this game solo. You will have a bad time. It may as well be a rage bait type of game. Otherwise, have fun, I guess? If you enjoy pain and agony, this game is for you.

At the time of original release, the best Star Wars console game I had ever played; this release brings it to modern PCs and makes it very accessible.

I loved Star Wars as a kid, and the idea of playing as a Jedi and fighting lightsaber battles should be one of the coolest things ever. However, I never cared for the early Star Wars games. First of all, Star Wars video games were mainly ripoffs of popular genres at the time: The NES/SNES games were all just side-scrollers, which were popular at the time, and then you had effectively Star Wars: DOOM, Star Wars: Battlefield, and Star Wars: Age of Empires II coming later. I hadn’t played Rogue Squadron yet (I think it was like $70 on N64 back then—too expensive for my taste—but I would play it around 2002 on PC), so, besides that, this was the first Star Wars game that I had seen that actually looked interesting enough for me to buy. I was correct.

This game was the first Star Wars game that I’d seen and played that made me feel like a Jedi Master tearing it up and doing all kinds of awesome lightsaber moves. AND it was 2-player co-op. It was a dream come true. I had a blast playing, but, unfortunately, I couldn’t make it past level 6 in co-op mode when you had to both jump onto the car that flew underneath the bridge. And I think my save file got corrupted or something and so I couldn’t beat it (I may have played it later, but I don’t remember—playing the final level this time through felt familiar).

Fast forward to today, and when I saw that they were rereleasing Jedi Power Battles, I was pumped. Unfortunately, the PlayStation Classic crashes if you try to play it on that mini-console, so I couldn’t go back to it. It ended up being for the best, since this came out and brings improved graphics to make the experience even better. Yes, I’ll overlook some of the rough edges because of nostalgia, but I’d recommend that anyone who likes beat-em-ups and 3D platformers try this game and feel one of the best early games to use the Star Wars license.

 The Positives
-This game is pure lightsaber awesomeness. You basically run through levels set in settings from the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace movie and slash everything in sight with your lightsaber. Yes, it’s based on the Dreamcast version of the game and so you can’t damage the environment for points, but I actually prefer it to save a few seconds of my gameplay when trying to get the highest score. Speaking of lightsabers, they corrected the lightsaber colors in this remaster, so my favorite playable character, Mace Windu, has a choice of the original blue or his actual purple lightsaber.

-The game has been made more accessible to what I remember it being (I could be wrong—I was playing in co-op before and single player now). You get a ton of lives, plenty of checkpoints, and a decent number of health items (they are placed strangely sometimes, though—I’ll get one at full health in one part and then be almost dead with no health in sight in another). The graphical improvements also make it easier to see everything and make the jumps from the original. And the ugly blurry graphics of the PlayStation are gone—yay for nice visuals!

-This game was one of the earlier Star Wars console games that really gave you something close to the movie. They use real pictures of the actors from the movies in the character select screen, and the characters in the game resemble the actors as well. It’s so awesome. The abilities, while nothing like the movie, give you something closer to what would be real than the modern movies’ force-can-do-anything nonsense. Basically, you can throw your lightsaber (long-range attack) or have it spin around you (close attack). You fight the robot army, and the abilities of the enemies and bosses like Darth Maul feel like the movie.

-The combat is interesting—it’s not just a beat-em-up game, as you have to deflect blaster fire with good block timing and dodge enemy attacks when they are invulnerable instead of just mindlessly hacking away.

-The platforming, once you get the hang of it (and now with the better graphics), is not that bad. You will die a few cheap deaths still, but it’s nothing as bad as I remember it as a kid on the PlayStation.

-The cut scenes are high quality. I don’t remember them being that good on the PlayStation, but the animations plus the improved size and resolution of modern screens really made them beautiful to look at. I can’t believe this game is 25 years old and had cut scenes that good.

-The characters are awesome—they give you many, and the remaster has even more. It’s a fantastic feature of the game. Though I love Mace Windu, so I can’t speak to how well they all play the whole way through the game.

The Negatives
-The game takes a little bit to get to work correctly. When I first loaded it up, I was playing in slow motion. I had no idea what was going on. It turns out, NVIDIA’s V-Sync options lock it to 30 frames per second, and so the game moves at 50% speed. When I turned it off, though, it seemed to go in fast motion (it might’ve just been my perception, but I’m pretty sure it was going super-fast). I restarted, and it appeared to right itself because it felt perfect and fluid.

-The game has some bugginess to it despite your usually fluid motions. For example, you can fall to your death pretty easily with imperfect environments (you can fall off things when it doesn’t look like you should) and controls (your first jump goes far, so if you hit the second jump too early, you won’t make your jumps). But this version of the game feels a little more forgiving than the original in that department—might have something to do with the larger screen and better graphics. But it feels like it’s a lot easier to land on platforms once you get the hang of it.

-If you like a challenge, you might not like it since you need to collect all of the power-ups to max out your points, and if you’re really good then you won’t need a lot of power-ups and will cruise through most of the game (minus any accidental fall deaths from the environment and controls).

Overall, I can’t say enough about this game. It absolutely has several flaws coming from the PS1 era of gaming history, but once I got the game to work at the right speed and got the controls working for me, it was smooth sailing minus a few times where I fell off a ledge unexpectedly or got overwhelmed by enemies (it’s the most likely way to die). If you don’t mind older games with a little quirkiness in how they look and play, it’s a fantastic game that I loved then and really enjoyed going back to today. And I even got less miserly with my force use and was able to take down bosses much more easily by being more liberal with my force powers. I had a lot of fun, and I hope you do, too!

joguin veio besta, muito bom por sinal, não sei dizer ao certo, mas o replay dele pra mim é bem grande, eu zerei essa joça 3x num intervalo de um mes, e é um jogo extremamente divertido, jogar esse negocio co op é uma experiencia surreal, inimigo derrubando agente do buraco, meu pc ta meio ruim, então quando eu e meu amigo reuz tinha que fazer um pulo travesso, meu pc decidia que era a melhor pra da uma travadinha e derrubar agente kkkkk, fazer parry nesse jogo é uma necessidade e é bem desafiador, a jogabilidade é bem gostosinha de se acostumar e sofrer nas plataformas, a historia é a mesma do phantom menace, mas com algumas coisinhas aqui e ali que dá um charme a mais, padme é op pra caramba, e a campanha é bem aproveitada, agora sobre as conquistas, elas não são muito complicadas, e é extremamente divertido pegar elas, a mais dificil é da fase 14, fase 14, fase sem vergonha isso sim, ela é beeem dificil, eu recomendo pelo menos melhorar um tanto algum personagem que ce é bom pra dar uma aliviada na hora de passar dela, mas quando vc passa é uma sensação de....conquista kk
no todo o jogo é muito bom e um remaster ainda melhor, eu acho que aspyr fez um bom trabalho, e ansioso para ver como vai continuar essa batalha entre nightdive x aspyr nessa era de remasters fantasticos em que estamos.

What would be a fun experience is seriously held back by severe game breaking bugs.
In my 4 hours of play i had the Coruscant level crash whenever 2 players used a force ability at the same time.
Also defeating Maul plays his death animation and then the game softlocks for me, making it effectively unbeatable.
