It's the perfect mashup of strategy with chaos and planning that I love to see in a game. Recommended if you like Brawlhalla. If that was a plat fighter // beat em up.
10 weapons with unique kits that are fun to learn.
Accessibility sliders are great. Allows you to choose your game speed as well as enemy sponginess. Extra difficulty risk modifiers in the runs offer replayability and mastery goals.
After beating it, I find myself coming back to it for relaxing - Slowing down the game speed means I can focus on perfect rooms and optimal combos. Which is a classic training mode for fighting games, unexpected to find in this genre.

Overall much better game than I expected. Pretty Hades-like with boons from animal spirits and other upgrade materials and different weapons with different forms. Different because you can plan your route in every area but might even be better because of that.

Fairly challenging with possibility to tune the difficulty. Does not reguire dozens of playthroughs but keeps things interesting with different weapons and boons. Graphically pleasing too and the overall styles looks good too with chosen mythological atmosphere, characters and all.

Overall, if you like Hades, Sworn and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. This might be good pick.

EDIT: The only problem I have with this game are the achievements. Some of them are not even working. I mean, what's the point of having them if they don't work? It's not a game breaker but it's still annoying as fffffffffffffff...yeah...

역대 최고의 액션 로그라이크로 취급받는 게임인 하데를 횡스크롤로 풀어보면 어떤 맛일까? 에 가장 가까운 정답.
다만, 하데스만큼의 맛은 안 나네요.

명백히 하데스라이크 게임인데, 어설프게 만들지는 않았습니다.
한 번 깰 때의 경험은 상당히 좋습니다. 다만 로그라이크 치고는 한 번 클리어 이후 재미가 꽤 내려가는 편이에요.

취향 잘 맞는 분들은 몇십시간 충분히 즐길 수 있는 게임입니다.

Surpreendente e viciante: O equilíbrio perfeito entre desafio e recompensa!
Vou ser sincero: eu nunca fui muito fã do gênero Roguelike. Sempre achei um estilo muito massivo e punitivo, o que acabava me afastando. No entanto, Spiritfall me surpreendeu positivamente ao abraçar o lado Roguelite.
O fato de o jogo oferecer recompensas constantes que te ajudam a enfrentar os próximos desafios torna a experiência extremamente satisfatória, em vez de frustrante. É aquele tipo de jogo que te faz querer jogar "só mais uma rodada".
Os pontos altos para mim foram:
Gameplay Maravilhosa: A movimentação e a fluidez são impecáveis.
Combate Satisfatório: Cada golpe tem peso e os combos são deliciosos de executar.
Trilha Sonora: Músicas relaxantes que equilibram perfeitamente com a intensidade das lutas.

在评论区我看到很多人吐槽这款游戏不好玩，其实这些玩家都在用错误的方式在玩这款游戏。当然，很大一部分原因是游戏的新手教程部分根本没有介绍这款游戏的精髓。

之所以很多玩家吐槽游戏不好玩，是因为很多玩家用《哈迪斯》《死亡细胞》《黑暗之魂》的方式来玩这款游戏，仅仅用平A平A平A闪避闪避闪避来打击敌人，但是每一次敌人都被击飞，感觉战斗系统很别扭很不爽，节奏断断续续。

这都是错误的玩法方式，这款游戏的战斗系统用的是《任天堂大乱斗》，一款“平台格斗”游戏，《任天堂大乱斗》不同于《街头霸王》等传统格斗游戏。它的核心玩法则是在平台和空中，精髓是“空中缠斗”，也就是说你可以借助向上攻击然后冲刺以此循环来实现Combo。

[h3]基本的Combo思路是这样的：向上攻击 → 这时你的角色已经离开地面 → 在空中再向上攻击 → 这时敌人已经被打的很远了 → 向敌人方向冲刺 → 向上攻击 → 这时冲刺CD已经好了再向敌人方向冲刺 → 再向上攻击。（如此循环往复）[/h3]

这就是《任天堂大乱斗》最简单的“杂耍敌人”的连招方式，空中缠斗。如果执行得当，你会感觉非常爽的！

在游戏中你会遇到血条是盾牌型的精英怪，这种怪在盾牌还未被击破的情况下是没有硬直的，你无法Combo他，这时你就需要用《黑暗之魂》的闪避方式打他，等他的盾破了就可以空中连击他了。

[h3]另外，如果你感觉游戏的打击感依然欠佳，可以尝试降低音乐音量，增加音效音量，同时增加电脑的总音量。总体的思路就是“音效”是游戏Feel重要的一环，Feel就是中文玩家社区里总说的打击感的意思。这是玩家自己修复游戏打击感的一个小技巧。[h3]

Genuinely fantastic game.
Fighting game style of combat (think Smash bros) where learning the combos and strats to each enemy and boss will help to improve your odds of winning but you can also semi mindlessly spam if that's your playstyle at least until you activate the Perennial Orders that is.
Good replayability with 5 weapons (10 including the alternate forms) along side 8 masks, not counting the base one that gives no benefits, that all have their own build styles to play around with.
Haven't enjoyed 100% a game since Hades before it, would absolutely recommend getting this at full price, and even more so if you see it on sale.

A unique 2D fighter roguelike not too dissimilar to Super Smash Bros. Controls are snappy and the graphics are so very colorful and cartoony. I especially like the animation of the various gods for your abilities as they appear on the screen. Good stuff.

Runs are fairly quick. You have 5 weapons to use and alternate forms to unlock as well. I highly appreciated the effort put into the in-game encyclopedia as well. Lore for weapons, relics, and enemies is lengthy and gives the world a sense of history. It's a roguelike I'll be coming back to over and over for a long while.

A very fun game. Feels like Hades and Smash Bros combined. The deity skills are various and well-designed. The skill tree should not contain some basic mobility skills, but it does not influence the later game experience.

Shoutouts to the ability to set difficulty! I love the game, but I'm bad at it lol. Being able to make the easier and go through everything is great. Chinese localization was great too.

Honestly had a great time with this game. A top tier rogue lite that combines Super Smash Bros style mechanics, what’s not to like.

It did feel like I was just slamming buttons at times, but when you and the boss are both low on HP you’re praying you eek one out over them.

Grind wasn't too bad too and felt very rewarding as I made my progress. Weapon unlocks, meta progression, and blessings you’re given throughout runs help you get to your power fantasy without keeping you waiting.

Spiritfall is a very solid rouge lite. It has a good amount of unique upgrades, buffs, and 10 unique weapons. The gameplay is feels goods with fast response times and I never felt like I died unfairly. It took me 12 hours to complete 6 runs of the game, which is needed to get to the credits and complete the story. There is plenty of more stuff to do including challenge runs if you want to keep playing. For what it is, it is a great game.

What it is not, is a platform fighter. many of the controls and attacks resemble a platform fighter and it even uses a lot of the same terminology. What it is missing are the core elements of a platform fighter. Outside of one specific bonus level characters have health bars and not percent counters. Also most of the game is played on enclosed maps with only a few resembling a platform fighter map. Even the ones that do have blast zones don't really do it since all the enemies still have health bars and really need to be carried out of the blast zones with combos.

I would love to see a Spiritfall 2 that truly embraces the platform fighter. Overall I would give Spiritfall an 8.5/10 with huge potential for a future entry.

It's just fun.

Plays so smooth, and the combination of rogue-lite and smash-bros mechanics works really well.

My only complaints are that a couple of the weapons feel a little under-tuned, and the true final boss is a bit much.

For those of you who are hoping this is the melee/ROA roguelike you have been wanting, this is not it. it is so bare-bones, movesets are limited, no grab off the bat, no roll/dodge, no actual shield, up tilt up air up strong beats all the bosses for free, the rougelike upgrades are so boring with no interesting synergies, and weapons are not interesting. The movement is ok but the fact that wavedashing and other melee mechanics are unlocks and very unsatisfying and not worth the skill points just makes this game feel like it could just be a brawlhalla or multiversus alternate game mode. If you're into casual platform fighters you'll like this, but if you actually like to play games requiring skill and depth this just isn't it. Art style and presentation also completely non-descript "indy rogue like default product A".

Scratches that Smash Bros itch like nothing since Brawl+. A surprising number of build paths have interesting combos; I never would have guessed Sharbora + Navolik is how you become a continuous AoE death ball.

As with all games that use loot as a roguelike element, it needs a loot banlist, but I'm not gonna fault this treasure for a flaw most games never fix.

Eh its kinda boring.
Its advertised like its a smash single player kind of thing but only in the final area or weird pace-killing bonus fights does knocking things off the map exist as a mechanic. The rest of the time you're just ragdolling things and hoping they stay in hitstun. This overly rewards high-knockback and damage weapons. So much so that later fights either have enemies just ignore hitstun, exit it seemingl yat will or have something in the background that just sits there invicincible and attacks you the entire fight, all three being blatant devices for the devs to try to add challenge to a fundamentally broken system that otherwise can't really have any
Mid-run progression is really boring because your powers are so boring. You can add a passive effect to attacks, change nade to something else and equip 1 singular active ability. Then you just pad those stats.
Weapons can be upgraded, but most of those also just pad stats.
Despite all this stat padding, later enemies take ages to kill.

Fun platform fighter roguelite game with an enjoyable variance of weapons and builds available. Has a bevvy of modifiers to add onto runs, both for making things run smoother and be more difficult, helpful for when wanting to just minimize grinding out some achievements or messing around. 100% completion is reasonable, if you're wanting to be efficient about time, just might want to focus on unlocking one spirit tree at a time and prioritize going after the Limit Break achievement only after getting an unlock that obviously helps with it.

Action-packed platforming rogue-like which builds upon the foundations of fighting games like Smash Bros. and Rivals of Aether. All ten of the available weapons you can use make for fluid runs that can make you feel like you're zipping around the stage, slashing through enemies to clear your way to the end. Bosses are challenging enough on the first few plays, and there's plenty of difficulty modifiers that make the game either much easier or much harder on later runs--whichever you prefer! I switched between difficult challenges, and more fun runs to help me finish my 100% achievement hunt for this game. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a game to unwind with for 30 to 90 mins, and one that'll keep you coming back for more!

the mechanics are such an interesting and neatly organized mashup of some of the best parts from fighting and roguelike games, it's crazy fun how many different ways there are to express your skills. the loop and pacing runs pretty smoothly as well and the story is fine, but, it's not as good when you transition into the second half of the game.

the characters and world are not really fleshed out, which is a shame, because i really liked the spirits (or whatever the things are that give you the blessings), and the feeling of improving each run really slows down where the next goalpost is the challenge run with 10 difficulty modifiers. there are still other modes and a boss rush mode you can do instead, so it's not as if the postgame would be difficult to enjoy, it just doesn't feel as good as the initial experience. in the end i'd still recommend this game because of how much you can do with its combat mechanics, i'd just be aware of that.

In Spiritfall, you take the role of OmenForged, a warrior of unknown origin, who was chosen by divine forces to fight a corruption called "Blight", and the Blight threatens the world's balance. The Spirits also infused him with a sacred mask, which grants him access to powerful abilities, making their duty to travel to a place called "The Brink", basically unsealing the gate that has been closed between different realms, and your goal is to restore the balance of the divine. Throughout your journey and experience, there are these powerful entities from a realm beyond who can grant you blessings that can shape your combat strategy throughout each run, and they're basically spirits that embody your elemental power. Here are the names of these spirits and the allies that help you.

[h2] In your journey, you uncover past civilizations and conflicts (like The Burrows). The regions were once home to mining operations that sparked war with the giants, and they left behind decaying buildings. It's basically giving the world a layered, lived-in history.

[h3] Now, onto why it makes it a fantastic game. Spiritfall is very inspired by both Super Smash Bros. and Rivals Of Aether and Brawlhalla, and it's AMAZING to play if you really love games like that. There is a total of 160+ blessings from each spirit, multiple weapons to unlock and evolve as well, and you're constantly experimenting with builds from the spirits that they give you. If you're asking, "Oh, these Divine Spirits are bonuses to help us," NO! YOU ARE WRONG! They define your playstyle and make your run feel more unique. Your death in Spiritfall isn't a punishment; it's a part of a growth loop, and you return to the sanctum, getting stronger each time with upgrades, new abilities, and better gear. That's what the loop keeps you hooked on and makes you improve.

You like platform fighters like smash bros.? You like roguelikes? Do you like comboing enemies and getting stronger while you're at it? Because this is the perfect game for you. Its definitely easy to learn but hard to master but what roguelike (or any game) isnt that way? Dont like the stress of online platform fighters? This is the perfect alternative for anyone who wants PvE and no toxicity. i like the speedy feel of everything and I might only have a few hours before this review but i can see myself trying to 100% this game, achievements and everything and still coming back for seconds. This game was worth the purchase and itches the scratch of wanting a fighting game full of combos without the drawback of toxic players or online being extra laggy 9/10

In the same way as Hades, starts out very difficult, gets easier the more you unlock powerups, then you can crank up the difficulty in various ways to get achievements. Much like Hades, a selection of weapons with two forms each, that you choose from before you start a run. Much like Hades, final boss starts out as a single fight then becomes a double fight after you've progressed a certain amount. The weapons maybe aren't as *different* from each other as the Hades weapons, but they are at least noticeably distinct. (To be fair, the 5-point-cost weapon *could be* very different, but I found its "detachable projectile" mode less effective than just using it the same as the hammer, as its horizontal "uncharged launcher" attack is really good.)

It's a lot less story-heavy than Hades, and the cost of unlocking things doesn't scale up in the same frustrating way. It also doesn't do the thing of making you choose between an item for long-term leveling or an item for this run - with a few exceptions, you get both.

Ran smooth and flawlessly on Linux with Proton, with a laptop RTX 3600.

I need more for this game, is so good. Every run is different, you can make different combinations of powers and every animal spirits feels so unique, is great. Also the weapons there is so many weapons, so different to play with them that unlocks different strategies. This game is great I need more, DLC a second game, something. Pleas give me more I have money.

A lot of fun. High replayability. Easy to plan how long you want to play and for short sessions but also very addictive. Different combinations of weapons and abilities keep it interesting. I wish there was another level and even more weapons.

This is by far one of the most innovative roguelikes that I have played. The combat being similar to super smash bros makes it easy to pick up and understand for most people, the gameplay being vastly similar to Hades in the sense of the blessings you pick up makes it very attractive to roguelike players alike. This game has no flaws in my opinion, the games replay ability is amazing with it's only downside is how there is practically no information about this game only for most of the secrets making it hard to find stuff but who doesn't love a challenge! 11/10 fire game and definitely worth the price for only 20$, if you love roguelikes I believe you will quite enjoy this game!

I really enjoyed this and usually don't like roguelikes or beat em ups, so I was pleasantly surprised by it. My only complaint is it took only 4 hours to see the credits so the game is very short.

Love the graphics and the combat is very fluid.

I've always had an interest in platform fighters, but have only played some of Nintendo's Smash Bros. As a novice to the genre, this single-player rougelight format was a fun and approachable way for me to play. During your run, your normal and special attacks get upgraded in a manner that is similar to how Hade's boon system work (maybe even a little better in my opinion, because unlike in Hades, all the Guardians offer worthwhile boons). Before you begin a run you pick what weapon to use, which determines your moveset. The melee weapon normals are a bit similar, but their specials are unique and each weapon has a passive that informs your playstyle.

It's solid all-around. I enjoyed my time with it, and I don't have any complaints.

Hidden gem roguelike platform fighter. Very fun combinations of blessings, and a nice range of weapons that each have their own playstyle. Took me about 30 hrs to 100% achievements. Excited to see what is next from the devs.

Editing this review a week or so after 100%ing the game. I liked it, and it did a good job introducing me to the genre. The characters were all great (especially the turtle) and the spirits added a unique element to the game that I've never seen before. I also liked how many different weapons there are to choose between, and how they each play completely differently. I definitely recommend getting this game (if I knew I would like it this much I would have bought it on steam instead of with Jingle Jam but oh well).

I want to like it; getting through the first full run felt good.

But then reality hits. Pretty much all weapon outside of the fists are pretty ♥♥♥♥.
They are slow, combos feel clunky, and dont work with most of the boons.

Modifiers for runs past first completion have such an insane difficulty increase (damage dealt to player is pretty unmanageable unless you have an EXACT build, which you may find 1 out of 20 runs) that most players will prob not get a 10 skull run to unlock the next tier. Ever..

And I'm pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good at Hades, smash bros and other platformer fight games. This just has something missing that is making it so damn difficult and unfulfilling to play.

Just feels bad. Has lots of promise though.

This game rocks. It gets everything right from a platformer combat style of game crossed with the run-based arena fighting gameplay of Rouge-lites such as Hades. You're getting stronger, finding new options and synergies you didn't know were possible, all with a variety of weapons that all feel really awesome to use. There are very few games I would call an uncut gem, but this is one of em.

Gentle Giant got it good from the get-go. 10/10.

It's weird, but I'm sad that I got this game for free by donating to the Jingle Jam- it's a really good game, with an interesting world and story. I want more- I'd pay for more- I don't know why or how, but it scratches an itch in my brain that I can't describe. If you played Hades or Dead Cells and loved it, you'll like this- I'm willing to bet.
