I slept on this game, I should've played it sooner.

Having enjoyed playing Civ 5 and Rise of Naitons but loathing the agressive gameplay they encourage, I've found Solium much more my pace, player interaction happens very early on, and you are encouraged to think 3+ turns ahead and anticipate other players choices and motives, the gameplay really embodies that sneaky, schemey, and sometimes stabby one would expect from the archdemons of the underworld.

After reading the announcement of a new upcoming update, I really hope this game can pick up more players to grow its enthusiastic and welcoming community! Welcome to hell 😎

I told myself I'd rate this game after 100 hours, and here we are.
Great game overall- good gameplay loop and the characters seem balanced.
I do wish that the in game encyclopedia was more comprehensive. Oftentimes the only way to know how a particular sequence will turn out is by turning to the steam forums or reddit.

If you enjoy the concept of Game of Thrones, using lies, diplomacy, and politics to achieve victory, this game is for you. It’s like Civilization but in Hell where everyone is an a**hole, and that’s exactly why it’s amazing;

You can’t just launch a surprise attack on your enemies; you have to meet specific requirements that represent the bureaucracy of the Infernal Conclave. In this world, demons are evil but not savages, I love the politeness they maintain when they insult each other hahaha;

The asynchronous mode also lets you play with friends who are hard to get together. I just finished a game that lasted two weeks, and every twist that happened had us talking for days, theorizing about the plot just like a TV series;

I can’t recommend this game enough. If you want to feel like an infernal overlord seizing control through politics, this is the game for you.

My Friends and I were hooked, but affter having played a few games they don't talk to me anymore 11/10

But seriously this game is really really good. There's an excellent depth to the mechanics, and there is rarely a situation in the game that cannot be escaped through clever play. I think the games greatest strength, however, is that you always have a chance to win. In too many other strategy games, the victor is decided in the mid game, with the endgame being just a boring formality. In Solium Infernum this is not the case, and this is a triumph of design worth celebrating.

This is an excellent game. Very unique take on grand strategy. The map LOOKS like Civilization (in a Hellish theme), but the gameplay operates very differently. Balance armies, resources, magic use, initiative gain, diplomacy, unexpected events, and more to come out the ruler of Hell. Multiple ways to win a game. So far in my experience, expertly balanced. And if you're a fan of dark/hellish visual themes, this will hit the spot.
