It's been an entertaining ride, but hot damn if as the protag you don't take a lot of L's in the life aspect of the game. Sometimes I didn't know if I was just making bad choices for the stats that I had high because I didn't quite understand the terminology or if it's just scripted that you sort of are in for a rough time no matter what you pick. Still, very well written and a fun time nonetheless.

Reads like a bad recap of a Road To Wrestlemania mode or Russo-Era WCW/TNA show with an even stranger insistence that every major thread somehow be a shoot. Not even worth a second run to see if the other routes are any better. Miserable experience.
This is the 40th CoG I've played...and it's in the top 10, which is pretty amazing for a CYOA about wrestling. I'm not a fan of wrestling. I don't know much about wrestling, beyond the tv show GLOW. And it doesn't matter because not only does this game surpass the source material, it actually makes me want to watch some wrestling now! The storytelling is truly great in a way vanishingly few games of its kind are and has a LOT of replayability. The only criticism I have is that the romances are its weak aspect, both in terms of quantity and quality. But everything else is superb. If you liked Choice of Robots, Tin Star, Choice of Magic, Tally Ho, etc, you'll love this game.
I admit, I was hesitant to buy this, even after playing the stellar beta which left a lasting impression. It was only when I saw the game at a discount that I decided to swallow my doubts and take a risk.
And boy, am I glad I took it
SLAMMED! is worth buying, and if you're like me, you'll be on the edge of your seat sinking a few hours into this game. Every moment feels tense, every victory feels deserved, and you become so invested in the world you don't expect a swerve until it comes right at you.
By the end, I felt like I just finished a good-no-great book written with passion. Sure, I'm still hung up on missed opportunities, fractured relationships, 'What-could-have-been', but that's the beauty of this medium: You can go back and do it all over again.
But, as for me, I'll need a week or two to recover from the emotional rollercoster that was this story. I feel just like how my character felt, overwhelmed with tears when all was said and done
One of the best choose-your-own-adventure novels on Steam. Great story, terrific writing, choices that actually provide different outcomes, excellent romance.. Couldn't be happier. I'll be following any other works of this author.

An incredible game. SLAMMED! was my first Choice of Games experience. Robust, wild and messy, it explores not just the ring techniques but also the locker room antics and struggles with the creative team. How much do you bend to other's whims versus making a scene, breaking out and become a star with genuine heat worthy of a title shot? Kudos to Paolo Chikiamco for writing fulfilling payoffs and making me feel like a badass or a complete failure depending on the circumstances. 5/5
As a wrestling fan and a text-based game fan, this is a really enjoyable game. It's short, but it makes it easy to try out all the paths and options. I enjoy it but don't expect to spend as much time on it like a Night Road.
This was pretty cool.
I know nothing about wrestling, yet this was entertaining and I wanted to see what would happen. I got so angry a couple times, not having a clue about how much of a show everything is so people screwed my char over - though things resolved well so I didn't feel bad for too long.
I did spend half the time googling wrestling moves and frankly I had no clue even after seeing the moves on what stat they were focusing on. I focused on strength because it seemed the easier one to spot but I screwed up big time on a couple fights. So if you're clueless about wrestling, it's still an entertaining game, exciting even, but be prepared to feel like you're tossing a coin for some of the choices.
It has romances and I did two of them:
1. with a singer and this romance well developed and I absolutely loved the character
2. with my char's old friend turned rival (the main conflict of the game). This one I feel should've been developed a little more; it's a crush because you decide it at the start, but during the game there aren't hints about your rival having romantic feelings toward you. There's only one reaction I got that might hint he feels the same, otherwise it's you being nice - at the end you decide whether you'd like friendship or romance (or nothing), a bit too short of a closure for how big the conflict was and how much of a jerk he was to you.
There's at least one more person you can romance, but my char was gay so I didn't try it out. Also a triangle with the same person and the singer. I think the singer's gender is according to your preferences, but I'm not entirely sure, since I haven't played female yet. Also the rival seems to have your gender.
There's loads of achis but to get them all you have to play multiple times and as both sexes. For some you have to lose fights and for some you have to be a real a-hole - I think I'm fine not doing them all, I'm not the villain type.
All in all, it was fun and it even felt I was there at times, I was gesticulating and raising my hands like my character did. Don't know how to explain it better than: fun and exciting.

very fun and with a lot of choices that allow you to make your playthroughs that much more unique to you,very worth checking out,especially for the fact that there's a lot of paths you can take,and choices that you cant experience on one single playthrough.

I really did enjoy the story and the different scenarios. While it wasn't always easy to figure out what you needed to do to achieve certain events it was still enjoyable trying out the different routes and seeing what happens. Being a bit wrestling fan I especially enjoyed it and the effort they put into using the various jargon to match. While some of the dramatics were a bit surprising I still enjoyed it nevertheless. I wish there were other pro wrestling stories like this to run through.

I won't lie, I love this game. Some parts are a pain in the ass. And some bites just seem like poor writing. And yet I spent 8 hours playing it. It's a good game honestly, granted I wish you luck trying to romance JJ. Because holy hell, if you mess one thing up you HAVE to restart.

Me playing this one was weird because I am not a wrestler or into wrestling and I know basically nothing about it. It was surprisingly enjoyable despite that so I can say even if you are like me the game can still be enjoyable however I am not sure whether or not having wrestling knowledge gives you a better chance in some of the fights
The "gameplay" for lack of a better description is good, making your way through the political landscape of the profession and the action of the fights is good
The story is interesting and very exciting at times but I can honestly say this choice game got me so invested into the story for my character but because of that it made me angry most of the game. For me my kind hearted character was getting constantly manipulated and screwed over and it made the game kind of unenjoyable because it was too stressful and constantly made me angry.
The ending for me was incredibly lack luster, I can say there definitely are losing endings to this game because the ending of this game is all about your wrestling career and not about the relationships and friendships (from what i have seen)
I believe no matter what the ending is probably pretty rushed and unfulfilling
A driving point in the story is a [spoiler] past friendship turned [/spoiler] rivalry that was honestly really dumb. wasted my whole run through waiting for the chance to fix it all and it never came and the reason for the rivalry is so incredibly dumb
Like many COG games their is romance that can play a role in the story and for me the RO i chose was very fun and I really loved the characters but it is not a focus of the game in any way and I only basically saw two options (could be more I dont really know)
The game was fun and think that maybe if I do another run through it could be a lot better. The story is impactful and full of twists and turns good and bad (mostly bad). If you want a fun choice game about a wrestling career and being cutthroat buy the game. If you want a solid story about someone fixing their past dont get this game because from what I have seen that is not an option.
I've haven't been interested in wrestling since I was in grade school. Nevertheless, this was an interesting and enjoyable game.

The most well-written CoG I've played (out of 6) AND I'm a rasslin' fan. Was invested in the story and satisfied by the ending before realizing there were alternate paths/endings I didn't even sniff. 10/10.

So, as far as I remember, SLAMMED! was released on Android in 2013. That was when I tried its demo version for the first time.
What I do like about Choice of Games titles is that they have no graphics and music – you just use our own imagination and create the world around your character. However, this also makes it difficult to make games like this. The writing, the story, and the game’s universe must be really good to engage its reader and compensate the lack of some multimedia features. Was SLAMMED! able to do it?
[h1]What I liked[/h1]
The writing is excellent. I did not notice any major mistakes (except for some related to genders and some small typos) and the pacing was easy to follow. It is also nice to see that the author of SLAMMED! created believable environment where everything is not just about fighting – people in the game have their own dreams and fears, as well as interests. The characters get the right amount of development without taking your spotlight.
There are lots of choices to be made. Some are just minor ones that will help to set your personality, but others will have a huge impact on the storyline.
It is easy to see that the writer of this game is really, really passionate about wrestling and knows this topic perfectly. There are lots of wrestling terms and descriptions (which I will also partially describe in the negative part of my review); there are different ways to deal with each fight – some can be scripted and some require an actual effort for you to succeed.
The last but not least: there are several romantic options and different endings, so the game offers a good amount of replayability.
[h1]What I need to complain about[/h1]
To start with, I know next to nothing about wrestling – literally. My initial knowledge of the topic was based on the relevant episode from South Park and some parts of WWE SmackDown that I saw on our 2x2 channel long time ago. Oh, and I have also heard of John Sena, of course.
At first, it was quite difficult for me to understand some terms and what was actually going on. Why do I need those promos and am I supposed to win by actually beating somebody or is it just a play for the public? What the heck is Kayfabe? I had to make some research while playing or I would stay confused until somebody explained it to me in the game itself. And here comes my main complaint: the author really should have added some kind of wrestling dictionary or some explanation of stats and abbreviations in the Show Stats part (some other CoG and HoG titles do it now). That would make my first playthrough way easier, to be honest.
Now the second complaint that I had already mentioned: the game sometimes mixes genders of characters. For example, I was playing as a female, and my team consisted of females too; one of them was Giana. However, during a party at JJ’s house, Giana all of a sudden was called *he*: [i] “You both looked at Giana, who was happily guzzling down [b]his[/b] third can, and sighed.”[/i]
[h1]To sum up[/h1]
If you are a big fan of wrestling, then SLAMMED! is a perfect choice for you. However, if you as clueless about this sport as I am, you might find it difficult to understand and appreciate the amount of terms, names, etc. Maybe it will inspire you to learn more about wrestling, or maybe you will get bored and just close the game and forget about it. It really depends on your taste.
All in all, SLAMMED! has good writing and quite a lot of drama that will build up during the whole game (sometimes even too much drama); there are also interesting characters and a lot of choices and endings. Quite a lot to explore, right?

Amazing game with amazing story. I hate reading books and while this is kinda a book, I really, REALLY enjoyed this. Hope that the author does more of this.
I don't know the first thing about wrestling, but after this I wanted to learn everything about it.
This is some seriously quality writing. There are elements of all of the great literay pieces ever made, there are friendships, betrayals, revenge, romance, humour, it's all here. The twists and turns are amazing, the choices are very clear and you'll benefit from sticking to your guns through the course of the story rather than trying to game the system.
I didn't expect this to grab me the way it had, but after being unable to stop playing until I completed it at about 3am, I think it's up their with the best COG or HG have to offer.
...honestly never thought in a millions years I'd be getting choked up at a wresting text adventure at 3am on a random Monday night.

There is so much happening in this game that it's basically my ultimate wet dream when it comes to story telling in wrestling games. I love the starting up from school amateur wrestling then the indy circuit just when you get to the top only for your dreams to crumple up in your hands. The backstage corruption, politics, choices make you want to just get payback on those wrongdoers. I will say this, if you like wrestling (which I would assume you do looking at this) and you like the choose your adventure books, then this is a perfect match, hands down.
Really fun little game. Enjoyable and simple. Took me 7 hours to complete and I was hooked with the story throughout. Definitely recommend it to any wrestling fans out there in particular.
It is important here to realize what kind of product this is: it's a story. It is about a certain type of career, and you won't be changing that much. The amount of choice is about the same as other stories. For what it is, it's good. Don't expect to do a lot of wrestling here. Nearly all of it is chit-chat.
fun read and adventure
Got into an car accident, broke my BFF's leg in front of hundreds( by PowerBombing her at full force) at the college champion finals while bathing in her blood and saying straight to her face she sucks.
Joined an reality TV Show, won it, while making a celebrity fall in love with me, and became a babyface.
Made a championship level tag team with BFF who's leg I broke(by powerbomb), got to the championship fight, and then betrayed by said BFF on national TV. Was then framed by said BFF for illegal narcotic use(I was framed I swear!), tried to murder former BFF in front of all of my co-workers, got restrained by said co-workers and then thrown outside into the cold on my ass while getting fired at the same time.
Went home and became a hobo.
Re-joined professional circuit after making a deal with the devil. (No Regrets!)
Destroyed everyone on national televsion in a royal rumble while undercover as Nacho Libre.
Won the Gauntlet, and then shamelessly stole Stone Cold Steve Austin's Line.
Challenged Former-BFF to a extreme rules match on the most anticapated pay-per-view event of the year.
Rejected the celebrity that I seduced. Made her cry and quit wrestling.
Made the most celebrated champion lose his title while destroying his friendship with his best friend.
Fought and destroyed my former-BFF on pay-per-view with her own finisher move.
Seduced fomer-BFF now turned GF on national television.
Became 2nd in ranking on global ranking system.
10/10 would become a psychotic babyfaced hobo that seduced her way to the top again.

A greta choice of games offering for wrestling fans. I love the writing, characters and just about everything else about this one. If you are not a wrestling fan i dont know how much youd enjoy it but for me its one of my top favorites from choice of games. Id reccomend.

Edit: Over a year-and-a-half later. I beat the game the way I wanted to. I sometimes think about how I spent eighteen hours on this game in two days.
This is a love letter to any fan of wrestling. While fairly short, the length adds to to the replayability as you explore the game and attempt to recreate classic wrestling moments or forge your unique ones. Sadly, it feels like pretty much every measurement that isn't your skills in wrestling are underutilized and, at most, incidental to the story. While I wouldn't call it the best of the best as far as the Choose Your Own Adventure genre, it's great if you love pro wrestling or if you're wanting to learn about it.
ENGROSSING. FUN.
SLAMMED! is top-of-the-line CYOA/commercial Interactive Fiction, well-written and well worth the price of admission!
I know next to nothing about pro wrestling, but am enjoying every second of SLAMMED!, from the very cool, over-the-top characters I'm meeting to the backstage machinations of the industry. I am SO invested in my character, Alanna Roundhouse, and the journey she's making in this story!

This game is great, i was getting way more invested in this than i would have expected, more than i get into most games. well worth it.

Who would have thought that a wrestling game that does not require a joystick/joypad with 4-8 buttons would actually work? Or even any fighting or grappling game that does away with graphics or sound?
In actual fact, this one does. SLAMMED! takes up the mantel and does an impressive job of it in the process!
To summarise, the game features a character creation mode and a full stat-based career mode with equal parts training, in-ring fighting and other out-of-the-ring events. If I mention more concerning the career-story mode then that would give away some of the plot and/or some of the numerous game-endings.
Therefore if you have good imagination and delight in reading ten-plus chapters of wonderful text; give this change-of-pace wrestling game a try.
A fantastic pro wrestling text game if you are a smark.
Very well made text-based game. The story is quite decent and it can be enjoyed by everyone from newer wrestling fans to the smarkiest of smarks. Wrestle in a minefield, no-sell a retiring indy veteran or make a hot girlfriend on this game's version of NXT's first seasons, SLAMMED! lets you do crazy things in its universe. Replay value is also there, the game is quite different when doing things as a heel or as a face.
Also, kayfabe is a stat measured in percentage.
As someone who's been a fan of wrestling for as long as I could remember, SLAMMED! is a quality text/choose your own adventure that is able to capture the drama, comedy, and action that any fan like myself would highly enjoy. I give credit to the writer who really comes across as a fan of the sport and the devs for allowing such a topic to be presented giving fans a chance to imagine their time in the squared circle.

I bought SLAMMED! as part of a bundle not really thinking I would play it. I have zero knowledge or interest in wrestling, but this is one of the best interactive fiction games I've played. The writing is brilliant. I felt invested in the world and its characters as I played. I felt the rush of my victories and the humiliation of my defeats. My choices had weight to them. The stat system was implemented very well, and worked with the story rather than over powering it. I will definitely be playing again.
SLAMMED! calls back to a simpler time in my childhood watching John Cena take on Triple H for the Wrestlemania title match. Though I didn't quite understand what I was watching at the time, it was entertaining nonetheless to see two musclebound guys tell a story, enthrall an audience, and all the while duke it out in equal measures of athleticism and finesse. It wasn't until recently did I ever appreciate what went into professional wrestling - this addition of the "Choice of..." anthology only cements pro wrestling place as a form of entertainment and an art.
Well written with much thought put into the consequences of one's actions, SLAMMED! puts on a spectacle while also showing what goes on beneath the surface. Its author, Paolo Chikiamco, shows his love for the sport very clearly in the span of 4-5 hours to get from beginning to end - only to entice to you read again and see how things could play out differently. For a choose-your-own-adventure that urges its readers not to think of the "what ifs" and to not focus on the future, I certainly look forward to reading through again and exploring those what-ifs in detail.

Great game for wrestling fans and/or fans of good storytelling. Better storyline than any WWE game made in the last 10 years, and better storylines than a lot of wrestling on TV.
I just finished my first playthrough. It was a 6 hour thrillride of a story, with decision making that really affected the outcomes. You can get some things you want, but it seems impossible to have it all. I'm already thinking about what I can do differently on my next playthough.

Good story, execellet pacing and some nice twists, worth every penny and I hope for a sequal or another story dealing with pro-wrestling.
Really good story telling. It's obvious that the writter has a firm grap on the wrestling industry and weaves a great story. Well worth the money and my NEEEWW favorite CYOA.
The writter should be employed by WWE, TNA, or ROH as this story is way better than anything they have produced in the last decade. Only thing I'd change is the cover art, it nosales this title.
There's some good stuff here but way too many swerves and worked shoots sometimes make you go "oh come on".

This interactive choose your own adventure story is truly amazing. It's filled with action, drama, and even romance. Work your way up to becoming the world's greatest wrestler, focus on gaining revenge against your childhood rival, or become the biggest villain in the world of sports. It's all up to you. The game is filled with crazy twists and turns and is fun to play through multiple times.
Selected default option each time. 15/70 achievements. #2 world ranking. Felt ownership of my character despite not having made any decisions.
If you are into novels and some kind of a "smark" you will enjoy this.
Slammed! is an interactive story based in the world of professional wrestling. You don't need to know or understand professional wrestling, although some terms are crucial to understand (ie, the concept of kayfabe) and a quick google search every now and then will help as you go along. At its core though, this is a story about your journey and the personalities that you interactive with - the wrestling is the backdrop for the most part.
The story's pacing is excellent, and the blurring of the line between real and kayfabe (which is broadly the same concept as the "fourth wall" in acting) is really well done. The quality of the writing, purely from the point of view of the storytelling, is also excellent. For me, the best example of this is the section that features the "promotional video" for the grand finale, where the writing got me genuinely pumped up for the big climax.
There is a reasonable amount of replayability - there are enough branching story arcs for you to play several times and not get bored of it. The choices feel meaningful, and there are several possible finales and many different journeys you can take on the way to them.
Highly recommended.
I just bought this for sh*ts and giggles, plus it was dirt cheap. I was surprised to have thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a very nice text based interactive story. I'm also an avid pro wrestling fan, so that probably helped me enjoy the story that much more. I like how there are stats for kayfabe/reality, promos, etc. At times I took the story angles personal, lol.

Yet somehow, somwhere along the line of playting the demo to this I ended up in love. Paolo Chikiamco is a master of terminology and theory, making every small detail easily understood with the depth required to the uninitiated. I was surprised as I went on at the build-up and the falls, the pacing the best out of any Choice of Games title I've played so far. Each of the choices, the differences in the story, they all add their own flair and style which alone doesn't mean much but when it's all together you really feel like you've crafted a unique persona with their own moveset, motivations, public avatar and fleshed-out motivations.
Lengthy without feeling bloated, I would reccommend this to anyone, wrestling fanatic or not. It's that great.
I wanted to refund this game so bad at first, but I realised because I was playing a character I knew wasn't me was central to the experience of pro-wrestling. I'm not an active fan but this made me want to return to my childhood days and enjoy it all.
This game was made by a master of terminology and theory of the genre. I played a heel through almost the whole game and just twice I broke kayfabe, once to sign a fan an autograph [if they said I was a jerk about it haha, I was nice to them.] and also to a woman who had some problem with family or something.
This is a great story and I only played once. It certainly levels with the standard highest bar I place for CoG, which is Choice of Robots [my fave story wise and sheer "yes you can do that, and it will have a real effect."]. I might not like pro wrestling as much as Robots, I love this game for the same reasons.
I can't quite figure out some stats, maybe they effect wording or story path with no choice involved [except the choices that gave you those stats.] My story path definitely satisfied even if there is only one main path. I felt the sting of every revelation and the confusion of "Is this kayfabe? Or do I have to kick some ass?" I got so into it that in game I started to accidently handicap myself thinking I'd end up having to seriously fight bloody.
If you don't know wrestling terms, the game makes them sorta contextual, but if there isn't an in game dictionary of terms, there is a good free online one.
Good weaving in and out of the timeline to help have you choose things and establish in-game reality. Since at times it'll weave forward or back through time There aren't many, or any, awkward sudden choices to make.
Finally, now and then you get to read a news type blog post about you and what's happening in your corner of wrestling.
Just a lot of fun. Damn good story, you don't just choose how it goes, but like wrestling.... you tune it like a song also
Just the concept of kayfabe as a stat and a mechanic is amazing, and it works great here. The writing is solid all around and it's worth noting that it attempts to be accessible to non-wresting aficionados too by providing brief explanations of wrestling lingo at times, though it's probably not quite enough for the entirely uninitiated. Keep your search engine of choice at the ready if that is the case for you and you'll be golden.
It branches plenty, about as much as you'd expect from a [i]Choice of[/i] game. If I was left wanting more, it is more a testament to the quality of the game (and my fascination with the sport, to be perfectly fair) than a judgement on how much content there is.
Very much recommended; it's the wrestling adventure most savvy fans dream of, and unique in what it does to the genre. I wish "traditional" wrestling games were more like this.

Before reading this CYOA novel, I didn't know anything about wrestling! Now I know more than the average person and am a hit at parties!!
I made my rise, I took the blows and disgracing, I come back into a career, and find support in more ways than one by a singer who wanted to prove herself, I reach the moment, I say the line 'IT WAS ME!' to my former friend....I am outraged upon Prototype deciding to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and denying me that shot...We lost and I suffered a career ending injury...thankfully I was still employed, made a recovery, then decided to try again...Thats where it leaves off, a much more open note.
...It was emotionally charged, I felt genuine surprise and shock, I messed up at the end but I'm willing to try again. Keep up the good work Choice of Games.

I love Choice of Games and their CYOA games. I've played and own almost all of them. I found this one to be more engrossing than I had expected though. I especially enjoyed the backstage drama and the twists. Some of them I didn't see coming, and I usually do.
I've gotten more mileage out of this particular title than the other Choice of Games' projects, and there are some moments where you could easily picture it as part of an actual wrestling match.
Slammed does something I’ve never seen in a wrestling game before, and that’s explore the gritty viper’s nest of politics that the professional wrestling industry often is. The author is very clearly a passionate fan of pro wrestling, and shows a deep knowledge of how the industry works. Even if you don’t like wrestling, you’ll like Slammed if you’re a fan of Interactive Fiction. The game explains what you need to know about pro wrestling as it goes along, and has a great story that incorporates your choices and what kind of wrestler your character is. Without giving too much away, the moral dilemma near the end that sets up which final route you take was awesome and chilling. I played through this twice, and even on the second playthrough I couldn’t do what I would’ve had to do to get my championship match, and I’m okay with that.
It's a wrestling CYOA with more branching paths than Alpha Protocol. Better gameplay and writing, too :)

This is one of the better written interactive novels. Slammed takes you into the seedy side of 'professional' wrestling and does a nice job of delivering you an experience while still letting you make decisions within the framework of the story. I've only completed one play through so I'm not sure how interesting it would be to play again but I can see how things could branch into different directions. Especially if you wanted to play a 'Heel'. If you are at all interested and enjoy the genre then I give this a high recommendation.
If you have any interest in wrestling there's a great chance you will enjoy this game immensely. In my opinion the best Choose your own adventure book I have ever played, once I started I wanted to know how the story unfolds - even if that meant sacrificing a night's sleep. And I don't regret a second as this had me captivated throughout. Moreover you get the impression that your decisions carry real weight - and the fact that I only got about a quarter of all possible achievements supports that conclusion. With an average duration of one playthrough of 4-6 hours there's only one thing left to say about Slammed: A Winner Is You (to quote an old NES wrestling game)

Incredible, absolutely incredible. Very long, enjoyable experience. A superb game in it's own right, even more to wrestling fans. It's honestly the closest any game has brought me to the squared circle.

This is a pretty fun experience. I was doubtful at 1st, thinking how much fun could I have on a game with no graphics, however, I was very surprised when I snapped my fingers and 4 hours had gone by.
I would recommend this game to anybody.
i went into this game thinking i wouldn't like it as much as other Choice of Games, being that i know nothing about wrestling. But I really enjoyed it, and it's one that will likely get another read through
A great, solid bit of interactive fiction - even if you (like myself) don't really know a thing about wrestling. A lot of fun, well-designed and with well-written prose.
I was backstabbed. Several times. I lost it all. I hit rock bottom. I had my heart broken and broke some hearts. I was cheated of what was rightfully mine. But after hard work and cunning I was able to reach back into the top.
And then the world champ knocked me out because I tried to cheat.

My 6 hour game session ended in tears of grief falling from my eyes as gutwrenching howls of frustration left my innermost being and drifted into the atmosphere. I lost in the championship match. Even though I can take solace in the fact the last action I took was spitting in the champion's face, it doesn't replace the satisfaction that would have come from beating him senseless.
Maybe next time.
I usually don't go in for stuff like this, but am I ever glad that I did. Slammed is an interactive novel in the vain of choose your own adventure in which you assume the role of a pro wrestler. I had luke warm expectations for this going in. I guess I assumed that it would read like wrestling fan fiction, which I'm sure exists but have absolutely no interest in persuing. Instead, I was treated to an interactive adventure full of colorful characters, twists and turns that had me up late into the wee hours. I will definitely run through again to see what the alternate choices could have lead to. This totally exceeded my expectations and has me hungry for more.
One of (if not the) best Visual Novel I ever played. Rich amount of choices and a ton of achievements to get.
A surprisingly well written and fun game, I expected something light to pass the time, but actually got really invested in the story and couldn't put it down until the end. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, but it's excellent value for money. Also, I believe it has some replayablity, even if I think I'll wait a week for my next playthrough, this time as a heel!

SLAMMED! is a fully text-based story telling game where you play as a wrestler from an independent wrestling circuit. You mold your own personality either if you're the fan favorite or the infamous villain. You choose your own wrestling style, your "FRIENDS", your TRUE "FRIENDS". The story will throw you to the point of whether you should show the REAL you or keep the character mask you're playing. You'll also be given a choice of whether you'll make the match turn to a real beatdown fight or an entertaining match.

If you have any passion what so ever for professional wrestling or if you are intrigued by the business and want to learn more this is the gamefor you. Its storylines and ideas are better than some of the real life storylines going on today in WWE, TNA, ROH, or any other fed. Well worth $3.99.
Fantastic interactive novel with an abundance of meaningful choices. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. (I didn't play 24 hours in a row, mind. I left the game running while I slept, ate, etc., hence the playtime.)
You *don't* have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy the novel. While I've had acquaintances who were into it, I only had a passing awareness of it, and still had a great time with the story. The characters are well written, and the tale's highs and lows pack an emotional punch.

Absolute recommendentation. If you like wrestling or are interested in the whole shebang, then you will love this game. It fantastic. At first I was a little bi sceptic, being new to the genre o itneractive fiction ymsel, but now I absolutely adore this game. It's a must-have for everyone, who likes a good story.
As a die hard wrestling fan, this grabbed my attention immedietly. Although I was initially skeptical of how the wrestling industry might be represented, I found myself drawn in to a story that is gripping, entertaining, and although it requires more than a little suspension of disbelief, drew out real emotion reaction from me.
Just like the real thing.
As much as I think at least some familiarity or interest with wrestling will be required to get full enjoyment from this game, the storyline and the replayability of making different choices still might be enough to tempt outsiders to give it a try for such a low price tag. Having been a fan of games of this sort for some time, I'm pleased to see the genre branching out into other themes. The Heroes Rise series made me a fan, but Slammed has made me an enthusiast.
Epic story, and was longer then i thought. And when i first started, i could not pull away, so sat playing it for 5,1 hours straight to finish my story. Absolutely worth the time and money :)

Recommended but only for devoted wrestling fans. Not at all representative of how the wrestling world works and the story itself is crazy. However, I did enjoy it and it's dirt cheap so if you love the rasslin' then why not?
This is an excellent interactive story. It really captures the essence of professional wrestling--backstage politics, the drive to please the crowd, the athleticism and pain. It's got betrayal, redemption, romance, humor, plot twists, memorable characters and a surprisingly high number of possible paths. Unless you can't stand reading, I highly recommend it!
