ONE good game, i beg the gods of gaming, one good game.
As if it wasnt enough to just be another very generic rogue like, this innovates by trying to give you a seizure with its control (yeah right) of color.... it also tries humor... it doesnt land

Felt pretty miserable to play. Doesn't play very well twinstick and can't use mouse aim if playing on keyboard. Frustrating enemies and annoying mayhem everywhere. It's not for the feint of heart, that's for sure.
Hard as balls cross between Binding of Isaac & Vampire Survivors with a stronger focus on skill rather than luck, & much more fast paced than both.

Şuana kadar gördüğüm kadarı ile boss fightlar birbirini biraz tekrar etmekte onun dışında düşman çeşitliliği yeterli. Önceki oyunlarında olan mekanik kısıtlamaları biraz daha çözmüşler. Biraz dememin sebebi ise bu oyuna benzer mekaniklerde olup dinamikleri daha akıcı yapan Enter the Gungeon gibi oyunlara kıyasla hala biraz hantal kalıyor.
Fiyat olarak ise özellikle indirimlerde çerez parasına alabileceğinizden dolayı bu tip oyunlara ilginiz varsa sadece yarım saat oynamak için bile alınabilir.
The game's art is super cool, I love the aesthetic but the gameplay loop is a little stale after the first few rounds through. I got very frustrated with the projectile that fires from your soul gun, it always manages to weave its way past literally every enemy even if you have a whole swarm chasing after you. This issue also plagues the axe as well, seeming big enough to hit a few enemies but always falling short, not letting you hit that enemy you think you killed, only to be damaged by that same enemy without being able to dash away due to cooldown on how quickly you can perform actions. The game also has a lot of endlag to every action you perform, after swinging, dashing or getting hit, you have to wait a whole second to act or attack back, usually resulting in taking damage. The problem is this effects where you look, sometimes having enemies behind you, but the cooldown on moves being so long that you never turn around to hit them even if you did press the correct buttons. Also, some enemies and UI features are hard to see and read due to the sheer amount of red on screen at all times. A few tweaks can fix this game for the better, it just feel clunky and not very fluent when controlling your character skeleton. 5/10

It a pretty simple but fun game I enjoyed.

The songs are mostly adventure-themed and help get you into the groove of exploring a dungeon but unfortunately don't match the dark and grim aesthetic of the game. Although I enjoy the genre as a whole, none of these songs particularly resonated with me and I wouldn't listen to the soundtrack outside of the game; however, they fit the gameplay relatively well and serve as good background noise.

Overall, I recommend the soundtrack because it's free and acts as good background noise but isn't something I'd actively put on and daydream to. If you want to hear more chiptune music from these specific composers or support them directly then visit their websites which I've linked above.

This one seems a little bit more rushed, but it is okay enough for the price. I do not think this game quite deserves the rating that it has (so I have to go with no on the recommend), and I do think this game is garbage compared to Spirits Abyss. This game is just okay. This game is a 7/10 if you factor in price.
I am begrudingly changing my review to Recommend after playing a bit more and realizing how addictive the RNG aspect is. However, my criticism as follows still remains relevant:
See, the mechanics are cool, the aesthetic is crunchy and all but when I die over and over for no fault of my own but because the game just cannot accept aim input properly, there is just no reason to play it. I cannot care about any progress or finding new upgrades and such when I know it just won't matter because I am going to get cheap shotted when My character misses for no reason. I push left, it swings diagonally, I push diagonally it swings straight... This is not me. This is the game. It seriously detracts from the fun and instead becomes a stress inducer...
But with all that said, you can easily get a broken build very quickly if you just get a relatively easy combination of powers. For instance, all kills count as ax kills plus ax kills spawn rotating bullets, plus homing bullets, plus double ammo on kill... just destroys everything.
Very great game and an amazing art style which I find truly beautiful
I strongly recommend this game as well as "Boneraiser Minions" and "Spirits Abyss"

First Impressions!
Music: A. Great tracks, not distracting, with good energy so they suit the game.
Graphics: A+. They exist in that pseudo-blurry 16bit space that my old Genesis games did. Love the detail work.
Controls: C and then B. I consider it borderline unplayable on keyboard, slightly better on X-box controller, but really felt comfortable and smooth with an SNES controller. Built 16bit so it makes sense to play it like 16bit.
Gameplay: A. Once you get over the learning curve on the controls it is an excellent throwback experience. Not an auto attacker like some other titles in this genre so you have to be a little more careful about your timing. I'm still digging into drops, bosses, and unlockables but I can see some legs with this game the way it is. Do not expect it to be nice to you and I think you'll have a great time.
Recommend??? Yes. Great game for the price, with the biggest caveat being that you NEED the right controller for it to feel natural.
I played it a bit, but wouldn't recommend it over a game like
Binding of Issac in the same genre.
Excellent little arena shooter with great fast-paced combat. There are quite a few different game modes and excellent replayability for those who really get hooked into the game. My only complaint is that there is a lack in contrast between enemies and the background, making it difficult to see some of the enemies (so if your eyesight isn't perfect you might struggle a bit... but that's not a deal breaker).

I had fun with this game but it does have it's flaws. I like the combinations you can make with the items you get, and I like fighting hordes and bosses with a good build. However, the controls the tutorial showed me (on controller) were pretty bad, you had to face a direction to attack there. The "alternate" controller controls are way better, and I have no idea why they aren't the default. (I don't know what the keyboard/mouse controls are) Also, the enemies are annoying to fight because of their digging mechanic. There are definitely better things to spend your money on, but I still think it is worth the money.

Although it is a great game, it has some really heavy underlying issues that require improvement upon asap.
I've written this review after 100%-ing the game, and boy was it painful.
First off: The controls would heavily benefit from being switched to a twin-stick shooter layout instead of the way it currently works. I've plenty of times died because the controls are quite frankly jank as hell. The player character sometimes dashing into a direction you're not holding, attacks not being cancelled when you try to dash, movement/attacks sometimes seemingly being placed in an input buffer and causing you to execute things you're no longer trying to do, as you're currently trying to escape damage at all costs, and the character often facing the wrong direction when attacking.
Second off: There's only two viable characters in the game: Blighted Host and Exalt Husk. Blighted because ranged and infinite ammo is very strong, Exalt because they do the most damage to bosses, making them the only viable character for Boss Rush, due to how that mode works.
Thirdly: Several QoL improvements are needed. Like the banishing of certain items from the upgrade pool, because frankly holy hell are some of them META-tier, while others are very useless, or have a hidden drawback, like orbs not counting as axe or bullet damage, making them cause you to lose out on the benefits of other upgrades that require axe/bullet damage to be dealt.
Another QoL that's needed is the boss rush and certain Penitance Trials really need to be made less RNG reliant. I only managed to beat the boss rush thanks to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stars aligning in my favour, and I managed to have enough skill to make use of that chance at victory. It's basically required that you have Exalt Husk with axe dmg+, axe reach+, and big bullets to just have the loadout necessary to beat all the bosses. Aside from that, you also need some of the bosses to only use certain attacks, as otherwise you're pretty much screwed anyways.
Fourthly: Are pure hearts supposed to function exactly like regular hearts for the Exalt Husk (only have experience with this is the boss rush mode) because if so, that's super lame considering how unfathomably rare they are.
This would be a really fun game if not for the sheer frustration that the controls and RNG bring to the table, especially when trying to 100% the game.
I legit had fun up until I started doing the Penitance Trials and Boss Rush.
All in all, Boneraiser Minions is one hell of a glow up compared to this game.
Somehow I disliked every minute I played this game. Didn't like the overall dark and high contrast graphics. Most enemies are absolutely annoying do deal with. Your attacks are usually very short-range, more like in-the-face range and the hitboxes are pretty small which results in constant life loss.
Blah. Definitely not a game for me.

I suck at this game but from the stuff I was able to do it is pretty good. If u have 5 dollar on hand would definitely suggest u get this, runs r pretty short compared to most games but with the amount of characters and amount of gamemodes it should keep u occupied for long enough to get ur 5 dollars worth from it. Also I noticed stuff from here is also in Boneraiser Minions, cool to see ideas from this game making there way over there.
Skelly Selest is a bite-sized, colorful, and fun roguelike. The visuals and particles are by far the best part of the game. The spritework is excellent and the colors are vibrant and lively. Many of the games by Caiys are color explosions in which it is impossible to tell what is going on. Skelly Selest suffers from this, but less so. It is confusing at first, but after playing for a bit, it is easier to distinguish different gameplay elements. The largest issue with the game is the cryptic UI and gameplay elements. I completed this game, but largely through simply trial and error, and honestly, I have no clue what any of it means. Regardless: a nice and simple roguelike for those who want a beautifully colorful experience.

This is an amazing cheaper alternative to The Binding of Isaac, which isn't much more expensive than Skelly Selest and I would highly recommend anyone check out. I like this game because to new players, instead rage quitting after the first few attempts you almost expect to fail. So you just keep retrying and get a little better each time. This is a great game to feel those little moments of achievement without putting too much time into how you play. I can totally see myself playing this on and off long-term.

the soundtrack is really cute and have positive vibes. hell i even have a OST of the game as ringtone for my phone. (if Duck Game OST and VVVVVV OST had baby)
also you have school or work? well you can play the game thanks to the low time the run takes.(holy skelly at late game you are overwhelmingly OP)
also the graphics is really simple and can run on your ungaming PC you have.

Got all the achievements in 7h but it was extremely fun to play while still being challenging.
Buy it. Awesome twin stick shooter with an emphasis on hack n slash rather than gunplay (it has guns to though).
Comparisons to Isaac are inevitable, but if you like geometry wars, robotron, isaac or especially smash TV then pony up for this sucker as its one of the best deals ive ever had on steam. Fully reccomend. Gfx are awesome nd videos dont do them justice. Variety of modes, ill be playing this for many years to come, undoubtedly. Then go get the devs other games, theyre all really cool.

A little roguelike gem! Skelly Selest looks really good and has a super catchy OST, but the real star of the show is the core gameplay loop, that is perfectly refined and lends itself well to arena-like brawls and dungeon crawling. There are a lot of characters to unlock and a variety of different game modes (the Purification Challenges have a couple of stinkers, but those are just about the only part of the game I disliked). It's a really solid, compact game.
Completing all achievements took a little more than 5 hours for me, but if you're a score chaser there are leaderboards for further incentives to play. However, the length is perfectly acceptable because of the quality of the game and its ridiculously low price, especially if you get it during a sale or in the "action roguelite bundle" alongside other great little games by the dev.

It took me roughly 15 hours to 100% skelly selest. However I'd be lying if that meant I'd had all the fun there is to have with this game- or even that I'd explored it to the fullest. The achievements offer a low bar to pass- the real joy is in the thrill of the journey. And what a thrill it is. Though it may take a moment to truly understand and operate your skeleton, the moment you do you'll quickly find little more satisfying than a good run. Though the game calls itself a shmup, you'll find yourself rarely relying on your gun, instead here you'll find skillful swordplay to be your saving grace, as you hack and slash your way through a mighty militia of diabolical demons.
if I were to rate it numerically? I'd give it a 6/10. The game was good and it was fun, with a gruesomely gorgeous art style, eerily excellent soundtrack, and terrifyingly tantalizing gameplay. but it felt like my time with it was either far too short or far too difficult. Challenges varied from light and breezy to damn near impossible to little more than a coinflip. Very rarely did I come across a challenge that felt satisfyingly difficult- or didn't feel like I needed to rely on rng to defeat.

Notes: Fun game, but overall the game is relatively easy most of the time. Snowballing is super common and trivializes most of the game and bosses. The only real challenging part of the game are a couple of the purification trials.
I also had some FPS issues where the game was stuck at around 48fps, and because the game speed is tied to fps this makes the game run in slow-mo. Can use steam overlay settings to check your fps. My fix was to simply change my monitor refresh rate from 165 down to 60 fps.
I would recommend the other 2 games on steam by this developer over this one. Straimium Immortality and Spirits Abyss.

Hoje jogando com mais atenção, percebo que se trata de um rogue-like de personalidade, desafiador e com mais conteúdo do que eu imaginava.
Logo no menu percebe-se a grande variedade de modos de jogo, dungeons, desafios, triais, e até um incrível jogo de cartas, inspirado em Triple Triad do Final Fantasy. Esse conteúdo é desbloquado a medida que você supera esses desafios, bem variados por sinal, desde fugir duma dungeon sem arma ou jogar na completa escuridão. E o melhor, tudo de maneira procedural.
A sua habilidade é um fator determinante para a progressão do jogo, e claro, sorte no que você coleta aleatóriamente nas runs. Não existe atributos fixos para upar, facilitando as próximas tentativas, e isso torna tudo mais desafiador e satisfatório. Existem 9 personagens, com pequenas diferenças de gameplay, mas que alteram muito a maneira de se jogar.

It delivers everything advertised and a lot more.
There's really not much else to say. If you're even slightly interested in what you've seen, you should buy it.
I'm not exaggerating by the way, if I had bought this game for $15 I would not feel bad about that price in the slightest, and I don't think most other people would either.
I enjoy all of Caiysware games. They all sort of follow each other's styles and feel in some ways but each are unique. Skelly Select manages to give you a selection of different runs/modes to pick from. I had fun completing them so far, still got 2 modes locked.
Extra character add some different play styles. I really gelled with one in particular that helped me get through some of the modes.
Played on 360 pad. Worth full price if you like your indie dungeon rogues. The games levels aren't massive but they are entertaining, if its on sale def grab it.
Truly a fantastic game, I especially love the Clashful Cards mode. Just an absolutely fantastic little card game baked into an already amazing video game. I only wish it had online multiplayer, but alas, I doubt we will ever get that.

This game alone and in my experience, is a testament to "jewels in the rough" kind of games. I think about this game more than any other higher budget or AAA game. This game really feels to give a lot for such a low price.
Dungeons Demons and Upgrades! All you could ever ask for in a dungeon crawler. This game is so fun if you are looking for a challenge like say you had a rough day at work and all you want to do is release all of the stress and anger on to something well listen here because I got the perfect game for you all you need to do is pick which play style you want and go from there but personally I go for the (1 Slash one Kill Husk) The Exalt Husk! You might be asking why would I play the two hit lose all progress because I like that satisfaction of one hit killing things but there are more play styles that might suited for you like the gunner, the multiple hit class, the default, and more but unfortunately I think the challenges might be a bit to hard!

This one seems to much more optimized for bite-sized gameplay than caisy's previous S-type game [That's their official name now]. All the characters are actually viable this time(unlike a CERTAIN Astronaut in the previous game). As with all of caisy's S-type games the base gameplay is extremely solid;all it needs is more enemies,more items,more characters, more of everything.Also the graphics are top notch like every S-type game

I bought this game expecting it to be a cheap, badly made, and edgy arcade fighter. I was shocked to see this game not only has comedy but massivly fun and addicting gameplay. You can either go into a dungeon crawler, wave fighter, and one more game mode I haven't tried yet. Fun gameplay, and reference galore! If you are looking for an arcade fighter/bullet hell experience this is the game for you. Love this game, and can't wait to see what the devs make next!

Very good arcade game to play sometimes.
If I had personally ran into Skelly Selest first before Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon, then I would have loved it to death for what it is. I didn't though and I only have a 50/50 feeling about it. This game does have a lot of character to it which I can appreciate. You know what to expect from it with a game of it's kind, go through dungeon doors, fight against enemies until more doors open up, get items that could either help or screw you over and then find a boss to fight. Progress from there.
While I do like pixel aesthetics, I was finding myself squinting and having a hard time keeping track of what was going on. The color palette for this game, works so that there's more blending than there is diverse in color and what's happening. I've found myself at odds with how the character swings melee and how the hit detection works in this game, but that's only when it comes to diagonal directions.
I like the theme of this game, going around as a skeleton armed with a sword/axe and a gun shooting around. Going around in hell just fighting against other skeletons and demons. Yet, I didn't quite feel like the chiptune music in this game didn't fit all too well. Almost out of place between what you see and what you hear.
I'd say I've about had my fill with this title. It's got it's quirks and it's charm. As time went on though, I just couldn't enjoy it fully as I had wanted to.
It's just good fun.
Fun gameplay, fun gamemodes... yeah, it's just good fun.
