Hand drawn. High speed vibrating combat, cool habilities, lots of unlockables. Dark katana. It's a very good game.

If you know me, one of my favorite games is Ori the will of the wisp. That game makes you feel like a god when you complete it. This game is really close to maneuverability.... but mgiht think the character is "tall" so you'll have more trouble walking and jumping... also joe can'ts swim, but.... it improves one mayor thing COMBO Ability. you can hit, you can follow, you can hit again, you can dodge (most of the attacks), you can wall run.... if only .... if only they had included rumble feature that makes the controller vibrate fo the executions. That would be awesome.

This game is chapter based... so no interconnected world and because he is human... it works.

Die ersten 4 Level waren sehr gut und haben echt viel Spaß gemacht. Danach ging es in die 2 Zone wo der Schwierigkeitsgrad angezogen, das Level Design immer eintöniger und die Gegner immer mehr und mehr wurden. Damit hätte ich auch noch leben können, aber das Spiel will perfekt gespielt werden und darauf habe ich wirklich keine Lust und mir vergeht einfach der Spielspaß.
Hinzu kommen "Lauflevel", wo sich das Bild bewegt und man vor Feuer oder Raketen wegläuft, aber man nie wirklich vorankommt. Dazu noch die Teilweise ziemlich dämlichen Rücksetzpunkte, zum Beispiel wenn man auf eine Stachel tritt oder man direkt zurückgesetzt wird zum Speicherpunkt. Außerdem der letzte Boss mit 2 Phasen und 2 VOLLEN LEBENSLEISTEN! Kein anderer Boss im Spiel hat diese Mechanik und KEIN Bossgegner braucht so einen Blödsinn!
Zu dem kann man seine Angriffe nicht selber abbrechen, durch zum Beispiel ausweichen. Warum?! Man spielt einen Shinobi, der für Beweglichkeit und Anpassungsfähigkeit gefürchtet ist, aber er kann seine Angriffe nicht selber abbrechen, weil.... Game Design?
Übrigens gibt es viel zu sammeln, damit man zum Beispiel den Shop mit Items erweitern kann, die man dann noch selber kaufen muss. Dazu 6 Schlüssel und 10 Teile für ein Katana, die man in den Level oder Rissen findet. Ist zwar nett gemeint, aber inhaltlich sehr flach. So muss man Level erneut spielen, da einem die Fähigkeiten fehlen, nur um irgendwas zu sammeln, damit man irgendwas anderes bekommt. Hat da jemand "Spielzeitstreckung" gesagt?....
Ich hatte auf ein gutes Metroidvania mit schöner Grafik gehofft, aber ein old-school Side Scroller, mit altem Level Design und bescheuerten Bossgegner bekommen. Und ja, ich habe die alten Teile gespielt, die waren auch schwer, aber das hier hätte viel besser sein können, was vor allem auf die merkwürdigen Design Entscheidungen zurückzuführen ist.

Ich empfehle diese Spiel nicht.

PS: In der Demo gab es das erste Level, wo man fast alle Fähigkeiten freigeschaltet hat und die Demo war viel einfacher.

最初は
「ソウルライクから回復手段を取り上げて代わりに無限コンテニューのあるゲーム」としてうけいれて、
値段にしては充分楽しませてもらった方ですが、いくら何でもラスボス難易度が異常すぎです。回復手段は一応あるのですが、後半の攻撃の激しさが異常すぎる。
回復手段も防御手段もほぼなしで設定していい難易度じゃないと思いました。

後、コンテニューある割にリプレイ性が少なすぎです。
コンテニューと同時に全ゲージ系技回復ぐらいはあってもいいと思いました。
ボス戦やり直し途中「今アレ溜まってればなあ」と何度思ったことか分かりません。

さらに、護符を装備してコンボ数に応じてパッシブ効果を得るというものがありますが、
あれを発動するまでにノーダメージで何コンボも入れなきゃいけないのが本当にクソ過ぎて笑わせてもらいました。

ほかに面白いゲームはいっぱいありますし、最初どんなに「動かしてて楽しいゲームだなー」と思っても返品した方が精神衛生上いいと思います。
はっきり言って、クソゲーと言わざるを得ません。

Nice touch of map highlights so that exploration becomes manageable, unlike some popular metroidvanias. Combat is nice and fluid but the variety of enemies is lacking. Heavy damage spam gets boring for armored units but boss fights even it out.

Très grosse surprise.

Le jeu brille avant tout par sa direction artistique. L’ambiance est maîtrisée du début à la fin, avec un univers sombre et stylé qui fonctionne parfaitement. On sent une vraie identité, et pour un studio de cette taille, c’est clairement impressionnant.

Le gameplay est fluide, nerveux, très agréable en main. Les enchaînements s’enchaînent naturellement, et le jeu mise davantage sur le style et le rythme que sur la punition. Ce n’est pas un défaut en soi, mais un choix.

Côté visuel, la majorité du jeu est excellente, mais il y a tout de même quelques variations. Certains niveaux sont un peu en dessous en termes d’inspiration (comme une zone type “usine”), tandis que d’autres sont absolument marquants et beaucoup plus créatifs (notamment une map autour du thème “poisson”, vraiment réussie). Rien de dramatique, mais ça se ressent.

Là où certains pourront être déçus, c’est sur la difficulté. Le jeu reste globalement accessible, et même si les boss sont réussis visuellement, ils ne représentent pas un énorme défi. On est loin d’un jeu qui te bloque pendant des heures.

Mais malgré ça, le plaisir de jeu est constant. On avance avec envie, porté par la DA, la fluidité et le feeling global.

Univers cohérent et marquant
Très belle performance pour un petit studio

Возможно моё заявление является кривдой, но я искренне убежден - эта игра на все 100 из 10!
Я ждал её выхода с нетерпением и проект превзошёл всякие из моих ожиданий!

"Вступление"
Моё знакомство с Sega и серией игр о немногословном Синоби произошло совсем недавно, приблизительно в июле, именно тогда, в сборнике Sega mega drive collection, я открыл для себя великолепного Shinobi III,в этой игре было круто всё - дизайн,музыка, лаконизм самой истории и конечно же интересная архитектура уровней, всё это заставляет меня по сей день время от времени возвращаться к этой игре.

"Достойный наследник":

Наверняка вы думаете к чему я пишу здесь о том? Да к тому, что Shinobi art of the Vengeance вобрал в себя всё самое лучшее из того,что было в серии игр о Синоби,и это не преувеличение.

Здесь, вас встретит колоритная история,знакомый дух и атмосфера,а так же все самые удачные геймплейные решения,да что уж, тут даже Ямато присутствует в качестве вашего спутника (пусть и не на протяжении всей игры)

Перейдём же к сути:

На первый взгляд может показаться что игра коротковата и отчасти это действительно так, но это лишь при условии того,что вы решите устроить забег в стиле Соника, вместе с тем, включив упрощение геймплея. В таком случае вы сможете пройти игру приблизительно в течение 8-10 часов, однако в основном, прохождение занимает часов 18/24.
Но не стоит пугаться,разработчикам удалось создать весьма реиграбельный продукт учитывая жанр.

На уровнях вас ждёт множество различных секретов,довольно сложных испытаний и даже парочка загадок,и ориентируясь на свой опыт могу вам гарантировать что зачистка уровней не будет чем-то утомительным, отнюдь,она действительно интересна.

Говоря об уровнях и музыкальном сопровождении - если вам как и мне,подуше игры о Синоби то знайте,что как я и отметил во вступлении эта игра продолжает былые традиции, однако она не не просто сумела удержать планку - она пошла дальше! Каждый из уровней представляет из себя истинный визуальный экстаз! И мало того, несмотря на такую тесную связь с корнями,она ощущается самобытно.

Ведь музыка,созданная истинными виртуозами, в виде легендарного Yuzo Koshiro(в контексте компании Sega прославившегося написанием композиций к серии игр street of rage,shenmu а также к игре revenge of Shinobi) и безумно талантливого Tee Lopes, создаёт чувство глубокого погружения, чувство вовлечённости в происходящие события,тем самым обеспечивая невероятный уровень атмосферы и что не мало важно ностальгии, ведь очевидно,вдохновение композиторы черпали именно что из старых частей,но эта самая ностальгия, ощущается как тихое эхо в совершенно уникальном стиле новых композиций.

Геймплей:
Геймплейная сторона игры оказалась для меня шоком,полной не ожиданностью.

В предвкушении выхода демо версии я представлял себе многое,но только не то что продемонстрировали в демо.

Ведь в данной части Shinobi нам представили целую боевую систему! - она разнообразна,а игра в свою очередь постоянно создаёт те ситуации в которых это самое разнообразие, проявляет себя с лучшей из сторон, вернее, я хочу сказать что каждой из представленных техник постоянно находится своё применение,тебя вынуждают разблокировать новые техники, совершенствоваться в их использовании, результатом всего этого становится невероятная динамика и крутизна каждого происходящего боя,это можно описать как "смертельный танец".

Дополнительные устройства:
Они стали одним из важнейших факторов всего гейм дизайна в игре и пожалуй все они уместны.
Разработчики представили нам:
1.Нидзя когти - позволяющие игроку карабкаться по специальным поверхностям.
2.Трос с крюком - благодаря нему игрок может цепляться за специальные парящие точки .
3.Планер - с ним всё просто,он помогает игру парить на специальных воздушных потоках.

Особенно тут больше нечего отметить, разве что только то, что планер во время моего первого знакомства с ним вызвал крайне противоречивые чувства,он показался мне не удачным (но только из-за того что я достаточно долго не мог справиться с одним из испытаний жнеца кое полностью на этой механике завязанно).

Нипо,ниндзюцу и амулеты:

Здесь ситуация обстоит достаточно спорно,на мой взгляд не каждому амулету и нимпо можно найти эффективное применение,но сам факт наличия разнообразия весьма приятен,и открывает возможность для ряда экспериментов,да и стоит отметить что многие нимпо по настоящему раскрываются лишь при использовании определенных амулетов,что довольно таки интересно.

Говоря же о ниндзюцу - в отличие от классических частей,в данной игре они не имеют былого веса,самым полезным из представленных мне показалось ниндзюцу воды, позволяющее восстановить большую часть здоровья,в остальном же ниндзюцу является приятным дополнением,любопытной механикой но обращаться к ней почти не приходится.
Ведь за частую проще обойтись без него, однако, оно способно несколько упростить прохождение,или наоборот,сделать его сложнее.

Если кратко, перечень представленных ниндзюцу может - восстановление здоровье, снизить получаемый урон, вызвать огненный шквал для уничтожения массы врагов и взрывное ниндзюцу, представляющее из себя акт высшего риска и отчаяния, именно оно способно придать остроты происходящему сражению.

На последок:
Для ветеранов серии хотел бы отдельно отметить следующее - многие поклонники Shinobi в ходе релиза демо версии отмечали две вещи.
1.То что игра не 3D (Дело вкуса, кто-то хотел более масштабный проект в открытом мире)
2.То что игра простая а геймплей в ней не классический.

Собственно этой самой второй претензии я совершенно не понимаю и хочу выступить против этой предвзятости, ведь игра наполнена различного рода вызовами,испытаниями.

Такими как - порталы жнеца, довольно сложные тайники,многообразные столкновения с элитными отрядами.
А после полного прохождения открывается аркадный режим, бросающий настоящий вызов, пройти каждый уровень без получения урона и применения нимпо/ниндзюцу, что безусловно сложно.
А вместе с тем вам открывается возможность сразится со всеми боссами разом и испытать свои силы в битве с секретным врагом. Я вновь признаю,что моё мнение может быть субъективно,но мне кажется что это вполне приличное количество разного рода челенджей.
А уж то, что игра имеет регулируемую сложность и не обрекает игроков на мучения уж вовсе не минус.
По поводу же изменений в гемплее - ещё во времена сатурна серия пошла по данному пути,ничего удивительного и ужасного в том,что его решили продолжить нет.

Послесловие:

Собственно если подытожить, проект не разочаровал, возможно старожилы ожидали от него чего-то другого но это не делает игру плохой,и я смею порекомендовать её всем.
Но у неё есть один существенный минус - цена.

Потому поиграйте в демку,демка будет громче тысячи строк в отзывах),и вы сумеете легко понять нужно оно вам или нет,однако имейте в виду что после уровней представленных в демо, всё будет становиться только интереснее в плоть до самого финала.

(И прошу вас,не забывай о том,что зажимая X на геймпаде сони или A на геймпаде майкрософт во время прыжка, вы можете вскарабкаться по стенам!!!!!!)

80 hours in and I still dont wanna stop playing this game. Beat the story, grabbed basically everything, and im still grinding boss rush like a maniac, no regrets

This is a fast paced action platformer that actually feels as good as it looks. Classic Shinobi energy but modernized in a way that just works (if you've ever played the old sega classics). Art and music are sooooo good, everything looks clean and stylish, all characters are cool as hell and its hard not to love them. Game doesnt really hold your hand either, it shows you the tools then lets you figure it out.

There is voice acting and its all done really well. IMO, main character has a lot of really good lines.

Movement is super tight with just a bit of float, like you have total control but also zero room for error. You can go from feeling like a ninja master to instantly dying because you sneezed or twitched at the wrong time, it happens.

Combat is insanely satisfying though, chaining combos and flowing through enemies feels sick once it clicks. Reminiscent of old school stuff, but the closest recent game I'd compare it to is Ninja Gaiden Ragebound which has a very similar vibe. Boss fights are super fun, you die, learn, repeat. They are a good balance of challenging, exciting and just overall fun.

Most of the game is running levels, fighting enemies, hitting platforming challenges, finding secrets. It sounds simple but it keeps evolving with new mechanics and enemy types so it never really gets stale. Some people might call it repetitive, I didnt feel that at all even after finishing everything. Got stuck a few times but it felt like I just needed to play better, not the game being punishing just for the sake of it.

Backtracking is there but quick, fast travel makes it easy to dip in grab something and dip out
Game feels complete, no bugs no jank nothing weird. UI is clean and simple, not overloaded like a lot of modern games which is nice for once

For 30 bucks its an easy yes. I didnt even hesitate grabbing the upgrade after playing more, but personally I fell in love with this game and its definitely one of my favorite games ever. I'm very excited they announced more content for the game and will jump into it day 1.

If you like action platformers, fast gameplay, ninja stuff, or games like dead cells or hollow knight youll probably love this. If you hate retrying challenges or only play competitive shooters, this probably isnt for you

This is the kind of game you play when you want to be a ninja, straight up. Fast, clean, challenging, makes you feel really cool when you pull off the hard stuff. I'd say the vibe is similar to a dope 80s action movie, but a more modern feel.

tldr; fast, tight gameplay, great combat, awesome art and music, hard but fair, addictive, very replayable

Final note, I played this on both a lower-mid tier PC and steam deck. It ran amazing on both with pretty minimal loss is visual quality on steam deck, but the aesthetic of the game translates really well, so 0 issues there.

I'm finally Ninja.

worth it: yes, without a doubt.

10/10 I would recommend it. I love this game so much and have nothing but good things to say about it. This studio really cooked with this one and its refreshing to see something this amazing come out nowadays.

Tight controls, amazing hand-drawn artwork and fun enemies.
The game plays great with a controller. There are many stages to go through and some of them are really large. Platforming elements are fun and the game simply flows once you get used to the controls. The bosses are challenging, but never unfair. If Silksong bosses are a 10, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound a 7, the bosses here are a solid 5 in terms of difficulty.
Some personal negatives - the Riptide level was unclear at first and most amulets are useless.

Other than that, this is a fantastic game that has a lot to offer with a new DLC coming up soon.

I don't do too many reviews on here, but I wanted to go ahead and give my thoughts on this game.

First of all, the artwork, sound design and music are amazing. It's some of the best character sprites and 2D animation I have ever seen in a video game.

Combat was very fun and fluid although I usually brute forced my way through fights, I didn't use the ninpo a whole lot.

The platforming were challenging and rewarding but it got to a point where some of them were just insanely frustrating, that's probably my biggest complaint with the game.

Overall I would give the game a 9/10

Phenomenal game. I don't normally say this for games but this is it right there. My only complaints are that it's too easy and too forgiving. It's a challenging game but at times but you're forgiven way too much if you fail. Also as far as I know, there is no hard mode, you can increase the difficulty but not upgrading your character but I still wish there was a proper hard mode.

By hard mode mean I mean a mode where the enemies and bosses have new patterns, new attacks, where the stages have either new hazards or the existing ones are made faster and more dangerous. This is by far the easiest and most forgiving Shinobi game I have ever played but it's so damn good that I keep coming back to it. If you loved Shinobi growing up or if you're looking for an interesting new challenge (the first playthrough provides the player with quite a bit of challenges) then you'll be happy with this one. I absolutely recommend this. If you're new to the series this is a great starting point.

ムサシの操作性は、ガンヴォルト３のきりんを快適にしたような感じである。当然GVはいないが、（最低難易度なら）ガチャプレイでも殆どの敵を葬れる程に強い。

回復手段は比較的多い。敵が数体に一度回復を落とすし、回復スキルもある。餓死ゲーだったベアナックル4と違って、本作では（最低難易度なら）被弾を気にせずごり押しできる。

一方、ギミックは理不尽なものが多い。ギミックを発動する敵（火を吹くヘリコプター等）は必殺技でも倒せないし、迫る壁から逃げる最中に落下死することもある。しかも、直前に手に入れたスキルを駆使して初見のコースを全力疾走する場面が非常に多い。最低でも5回はやり直す羽目になるし、心臓にも良くない。興奮して画面を叩き割ったらどうしてくれるんだ（怒）。ソニックスーパースターズでユーザーの即死に対する拒否感を学ばなかったのだろうか。どんな神ゲーにも致命的な欠点を残すのはセガらしくて大変微笑ましいともいえるが。即死ギミックを作った人とOKを出した人、セガの取締役と大株主は愛する人に本作をプレイさせるべきである。

アクション面は100点と言っても良く、即死さえ減らせば万人受けし得る逸品である。アップデートでギミックの緩和措置（必殺技で破壊可能にする等）を取れば２Dアクションの最高傑作になり得るだろう。

Get it on Sale, I dunno. Pretty short. I finished it in 12 hours and got every collectible. Platforming can be really annoying at times with obnoxious hitboxes, but for the most part works smoothly outside of that. Combat is somewhat fine, though really easy eventually. Voice acting and art can feel... so and so, but like, as a whole package its pretty good for some weekend fun. Wouldn't pay full price for it doe lol.

Retro action with a avant-garde edge. I haven't played the previous games, but the idea of a ninja in a futuristic setting is something I find absolutely captivating.
In terms of gameplay, the difficulty is finely tuned and well-balanced, which is a welcome touch. I'm not particularly skilled at this type of game and I still hold my own with no trouble. The levels are also stunning and rarely feel repetitive — though it's a shame that when they do, they really lean into it, but those moments are few and far between.
I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys metroidvanias and platformers. The metroidvania elements are fairly light — fast travel is abundant and upgrades are limited. The platforming, on the other hand, is outstanding and keeps things fresh throughout; a solid 10/10 for this. It strikes a great balance between both genres, drawing on the strengths of each while leaving the weaknesses behind. If I had to say something bad, I honestly couldn't — but ask me again once I've finished it ;)
It's a really beatiful game, they have done so well in the 2D and illustration part. Ah, and the story is not that that bad; and there's a lot of easter-eggs (I love Neo-city).

Absolutely awesome game! Great art style, character moves smooth, interesting combos and other fighting mechanics. You really do feel like a bad-ass ninja slicing and dicing thru your enemies! Challenging but not overwhelming, they struck a very nice balance. I played thru the entire game and completed all the optional challenges. Performed very well on my Steam Deck without and technical issues. Very much looking forward to either the DLC or a sequel!

Personalmente hubiera preferido un enfoque aún más clásico; me explico: las mecánicas de combos al estilo beat'em up y el que continuamente te encierren en una pantalla para ir derrotando a oleadas de enemigos, no me convencen para este tipo de juegos. Aun así, está muy bien hecho y es bastante divertido.
A mi modo de ver, no le quita el trono a Shinobi III, pero al menos me alegro de que una mítica saga vuelva a tener un juego más que decente.

This right here ladies and gentleman is simply one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life! Now where to start?!

First of all the game is absolutely gorgeous the visuals are super unique and all hand-drawn which makes it absolute eye candy to just look at. There is so much going on in every stage that often times just looking at the background tells a story in itself. Just look at all the monsters that are being created in the ENE Labatory or the war that is going on outside of Lord Ruse's castle, and in the same stage the murals in his castle exactly show why he became evil as well, because the Grim Reaper killed his pregnant wife. Or look at the Kaiju stage for example you can see that the monster has swallowed the buildings that have appeared in Neon City for example. So all in all the visuals are fantastic!

Speaking of the Kaiju stage the sound design is also amazing, when you are inside the beast you can just hear the different body parts, when you are in the specific area's for example near the chest you can hear the heartbeat very well, inside the stomach, stomach acid rumbling etc etc. This applies for the entire game which is really well done, I have never seen anything quite like it. The soundtrack is also absolutely amazing with just mostly all bangers, and the songs even gets remixed when you are in a battle section to be more hype and upbeat!

Now as for the stages and the level design, as you can already tell by my review the levels they have decided to go for in this game is very unique too! There is much variety to be found here and also a lot of these levels I haven't really seen in other games, so they are very original in that aspect as well.
The level design is a blast each stage has enough variety between combat, platforming, puzzle solving and exploration which leads to never a dull moment in the game and it always feeling amazing to play and it never overstays it's welcome!

Now last the gameplay loop is easy to pick up but quite difficult to master, as you can just brute force your way trough the game but it definently helps when you learn how to master the game by learning all the combo's and abilities Joe Musashi has and making the best use out of them! This way it feels very fun and awesome to play this game for the first time, but even more so for the second time as it's awesome to put yourself trough the test in how quick you can force your way trough these stages!

For example my first 100% playtrough on this game I did on the Nintendo Switch and it took me around 19 hours, but now for my second playtrough I did it on Steam and because I knew exactly what I was doing it only took me around 9,5 hours to fully 100% complete this game!

The game is fanatastic I can't recommend it enough, one of the BEST 2D action games I have ever played in my life and I wish more people got to experience just how good this game really is, so definently give it a shot.

I also can't wait for Dr Eggman and Goro Majima (and Death Adder is there too I guess lol, would have preffered Mr X as the same team made Streets of Rage 4, which is another banger game as well.)
to be added in the Sega Villains DLC stage that's gonna be a wonderfull experience!

Nova reinterpretació del clàssic Shinobi que, almenys en el meu cas, he viscut gairebé com un retrobament amb les sensacions de l’època de Sega Mega Drive. No és només nostàlgia: el joc aconsegueix capturar molt bé l’essència arcade de la saga, però adaptant-la als estàndards actuals.

El control és, probablement, un dels seus punts més forts. És precís, àgil i molt satisfactori, cosa que fa que cada combat i cada secció de plataformes funcionin com han de funcionar: sense frustracions innecessàries i amb la sensació que si falles és més cosa teva que no pas del joc. En aquest sentit, és un títol molt honest.

A nivell de disseny, incorpora alguns elements de backtracking que li donen una mica més de profunditat i recorregut del que podria semblar a primera vista. No arriba a ser un metroidvania, però sí que convida a revisitar zones i a explorar una mica més enllà del camí principal.

L’apartat artístic és un altre dels grans encerts. Té una identitat visual molt marcada, amb escenaris cuidats i coherents amb l’univers Shinobi. La música acompanya molt bé en tot moment, reforçant tant els moments més intensos com els més atmosfèrics.

Potser no reinventa la roda, però tampoc ho necessita. És un joc que sap molt bé què vol ser i ho executa amb solidesa.

En resum: m’ha agradat força. Si t’agraden els jocs d’acció amb ànima arcade i tens bon record dels clàssics, és una proposta molt recomanable.

Aside from certain levels feeling a little padded, especially on Arcade Mode, the game is basically solid beginning to end, and you'll get out what you put in. The game is very easy to pick up and play, and if you choose to mindlessly mash away, you can get away with it in the story mode. If you want to put more time into it, the game will reward you with much faster clear times and/or much higher scores, and just really flashy and satisfying gameplay in general. S ranking arcade is only dipping your toe into what the game has to offer, and most people won't even bother getting to that level. It's honestly refreshing to see a game designed in this way, as a lot of developers have abandoned the ethos of easy to pick and play, difficult to master.

The game's visuals are gorgeous, the combat is very deep if you take the time to learn the ins and outs, platforming for the most part is tight, and most of the time the whole game has a nice flow to it. Occasionally, there are some "push the battery/batteries" puzzles that slow the pace down for too long, but the really egregious ones only come up I think twice in the whole game. Lizardcube pulled off Metroidvania-lite really well here. I was initially worried about that choice, but it works.

The music is a mixed bag. None of it is bad per se, but there are only a few standout tracks, and certain tracks are re-used too often. The secret Shadow Master boss uses the generic boss theme instead of a remix of the Shinobi III track. A huge wasted opportunity. Kijima should also have his own boss theme. I was expecting more out of Tee Lopes and Yuzo Koshiro. Hopefully the new content coming rounds out the OST.

A few quality of life issues. You can't fully replay the last stage without starting a new game. There is a boss rush, but it would be nice to be able to replay all of the bosses in story mode for practicing purposes as quick travel would let you grind any of them to your heart's content. The game is getting aforementioned DLC, so perhaps some of the QoL stuff may get addressed in this update.

As is, this game is like an 8.5-9.0 out of 10 for me. The more I play it, the more I like it.

[i]Shinobi: Art of Vengeance[/i] è un beat'em up a livelli che strizza l'occhio ai metroidvania grazie a un hub che permette di tornare nelle aree già visitate, per recuperare ciò che avevamo mancato o per mappare sezioni precedentemente chiuse. I combattimenti contro i nemici fanno guadagnare monete con le quali si possono comprare mosse extra, mentre in giro si potranno trovare Ninpo ("magie" ninja) e Final di diverso genere. Sfide speciali vi permetteranno di ottenere i migliori collezionabili/poteri, mentre sezioni bonus specifiche sbloccheranno un misteriosa arma verso la fine (no spoiler!).

Questo nuovo capitolo della saga di Sega (heheh), sviluppato da quei grandissimi artisti che ci hanno già dato [i]WonderBoy Dragon's Trap[/i] e [i]Street of Rage 4[/i], inizia un po' lento ma raggiunge un buon ritmo verso la metà. Negli ultimi 3 livelli la difficoltà aumenta ma i pazzi che l'hanno paragonato a [i]Silksong[/i] non sanno di cosa stanno parlando. Il seguito di [i]Hollow Knight[/i] è un orologio svizzero nella sua difficoltà, mentre qui... d'accordo le mosse e i combattimenti veloci, ma ogni sezione con trappole/fiamme/acido/vento dura un quarto di quelle del titolo del [i]Team Cherry[/i], e lo studio necessario per terminare i Boss è minimo! In altre parole: tutto è più semplice e quindi più digeribile dagli impazienti o per chi non ha dimestichezza col gamepad.
Badate, però: nonostante Joe Musashi sia sicuramente un personaggio OP, imparare a sfruttare i suoi poteri, le combo e i Ninpo è imprescindibile se volete terminare tutto quanto. Non siamo davanti a una sfida difficile, ma in un paio di occasioni sicuramente ve ne partiranno un paio di quelle buone.

Very solid game -- finished main story with some optional challenges, some secrets.

Deep and rewarding base combat system and mechanics. This game is worth it for that alone. Has the heart of an anime fighter with launchers, juggles, cancels, fluid combo chains, etc. Meter abilities often seemed underwhelming or very optional use -- would have liked seeing them incorporated into the combo system as starters/finishers/etc. Similarly, wish more platforming abilities other than roll/dash were more tightly integrated into combat. Camera movement worked well to show off the combat and art style.

I've learned I no longer enjoy "scrolling, platforming setpieces" anymore and there were more than a few in this game. Optional challenges, particularly the platform-oriented ones, are very unforgiving-- only the combat ones were engaging to me. It feels like these "die instantly in a pit and repeat until you win" scenarios clash hard with the incredibly satisfying, multi-hit, multi-target combat experience. Fortunately the (re)load times are great. The checkpointing is mostly great.

The story and voice acting holds almost no weight. The protagonist's non-verbal responses to everything and everyone get tiresome quickly (not to mention feel tone-deaf during many narrative moments). Not being a long-time Shinobi franchise fan, maybe this is a running gag that is simply lost on me.

But the art style. The combat (the combat!).

The game is good, but it definitely has its cons. First, the shop system is garbage. I only bought a couple of items and then stopped because most of them aren't helpful and provide no real benefit; it’s really just a matter of preference. The enemy variety is also lacking, and the levels—especially toward the end—feel empty. All you do is find and flip switches. The final boss fight is mid, too. But what I disliked most is that the dark katana you get from beating all the rift quests is just a skin. No additional damage or stats? It feels like a total waste of effort.

this is the first ever game i wouldn't recommend to anyone. For a game that's so parkour centric, the parkour mechanics are terrible (on keyboard). when they give you the disclaimer "this is better played on a controller" it really means it can only be played on a controller. When I tried to configure my setting some abilities stopped working ie ninpo, ninjutsu, and i wouldn't attach to object properly. lastly momentum is not a thing in this game, if you stop moving you instantly stop.

If you're a fan of ninja games and/or action platformers this is a must-play. A mixture of fast paced intense melee action like Hollow Knight with the arcade-style flow of Doom Eternal. With great visuals and a chill soundtrack to boot.

Also has an interesting take on the Metroidvania genre. While there are chunks of the game locked away until you get the right power-ups, the game is broken up into distinct unique levels instead of a large world map, and right away you have the ability to spawn at any save point which really speeds things up.

Great game. Highly recommended.

Прикольный платформер. Красиво нарисован, напомнило Shank, неплохой саунддизайн и боевая система, но на этом всё. Абсолютный дефолт, ничем не отличающийся от аналогов. Как и зачем в это играть после Силкконга - вообще ума не приложу.
Душнины тоже дофига в игре: кривой платформинг с непонятными хитбоксами, уйма платформинг секций, которые затянуты, ужасные чекпоинты, постоянный неотключаемый slowmo эффект на ВСЁ, нечитаемые атаки из-за пересечения визуальной индикации, довольно скучное затянутое и бесполезное собирательство и местами убитый лвл-дизайн, а ещё в игре есть баги. Впечатления довольно нейтральны, надолго игра в себя не погружает из-за быстро наступающего утомления и фрустрации, всё слишком медленно. Ценник за такое качество исполнения высоковат.

花了挺长时间终于打到白金了，真的不容易啊。真心不推荐这游戏，跳跳乐是真的恶心，好多极限距离、迷之判定，给我玩红温了好几次，本来听说是爽游，结果游戏全是跳跳乐;还有那个街机模式全s的更是恶心人，好多关卡打了好多次才打完，无伤对我这种手残党来说真难，最后还是刷连击速通过的，想打全s建议找视频多看几遍熟悉一下速通路线，然后找个有盾的精英怪一直刷连击刷到400左右然后速通最后记得忍杀boss就差不多了，后面连击断了也没关系，随便被打多少次也没事不用无伤为难自己。除此之外游戏的爽感还是可以的，花里胡哨的连招忍术挺好玩，动作很流畅，boss设计也不错，关卡解密并不难。最后就是价格偏高，然后我买的豪华版dlc现在还不出，建议打骨折可以入手玩玩。
