A very well done and extremely tight platformer... most of the time.

Sadly, the game also has one huge issue, power ups. Most of them are fine... and then there is teleport. Which is the game's favorite power, which is a pity because it's by far the worst.

The entire difficulty in every single teleporter stage is that teleport handles like ass.

Which is indeed difficulty... not fun though.

Later levels also tend to get really questionable design.

But for what it is, it is a pretty fun game, I would recommend to buy it on sale though.

Тематика дуже цікава, а таблиця лідерів реально дикаю, топові позиції там настільки дикі, що з ними майже неможливо зрівнятися, але це не відштовхує, а навпаки — мотивує ставати кращим.Це рідкісна гра, де мене не бісить перепроходити один і той самий рівень по 100 разів, щоб покращити результат на одну соту секунди. Тут це відчувається як виклик, а не як рутина.Окремий плюс — смішний і абсурдний сюжет та неймовірно атмосферні фонові треки, які ідеально підходять до швидкого й напруженого геймплею.

Якщо вам подобається швидкість, челендж і постійне прагнення до ідеального забігу — SEUM точно варта уваги.

SEUM is a great speedrunning game with simple levels and mechanics, but rewards mastering and optimizing every single movement and mouseclick if you want to compete for the top times.

I don't personally aim to beat the top times but still had a good time learning the "puzzles" on how to get the required times for the different stages, and then getting good enough to act on it, or collecting the different hidden collectibles around in stages.
The game is quick to get you into action, and even quicker to get you back into it when you fail or make mistakes.

If you like going fast and playing like a speedrunner, there's a lot to like in this game.

Сразу оговорюсь, я не спидраннер, скорее, как выяснилось совсем недавно, ачивментхантер x)

Энивей, игра не совпала с моими ожиданиями. Ждал что-то в духе старых платформеров, мол проходишь уровень минут на 5 сначала долго и упорно, а потом при переигрывании выучиваешь фишки и приходишь к оптимальному и наиболее комфортному (а т.е. кайфовому и не всегда быстрому) для себя пути аля Sonic Adventure.

По итогу эта игра очередной инди пиксель-дрочь, только в 3D. Она хороший пиксель дрочь, но это всё равно пиксель-дрочь. Вначале ещё есть какие-то намёки на то, что игра пойдёт бодрячком, но чем дальше, тем больше понимаешь во что ты попал. А попал ты в узкие рамки таймера и не всегда в доведённые до ума механики, и всё это поделено на крошечные уровни по 10, максимум 60-80 секунд.

Почему положительный отзыв?
Ну во-первых, несмотря на то, что музыки мало, она есть и это мой любимый, ♥♥♥♥, Undercode.
Во-вторых, несмотря на нелюбимый мной "жанр" пиксель-дроча (а он может быть в той или иной степени в любой игре, но это отдельная тема), в большинстве уровней SEUM-а отличный геймдизайн и хорошая кривая сложности. Чтобы пройти уровень нужно решить одну-две крошечных головоломки, но они не самые сложные и для их решения, зачастую, нужно просто быть более внимательным к окружению, а такое в играх я уважаю. Плюс небольшой размер уровней снижает возможную фрустрацию. Я уж не говорю о том, что уровней тут море, а ещё есть скрытые механики, хотя в арсенале игрока, по сути, кроме WASD и прыжка только 2 кнопки. В механики эти посвящают не через кучи текста или очередные настопиз дившие диалоги, а через пробы и ошибки самого игрока, через дизайн локаций и даже, часто, через коллектиблсы. Короче, за исключением, скажем десятка уровней, в основном, даже несмотря на то, что некоторые уровни приходилось перепроходить минимум по 10-15 раз, геймдизайн — ВО.

Отдельно выбесили как раз СЛИШКОМ пиксельдрочные уровни, где для золота нужно было успеть прямо, как говорится, х-й-в-х-й.

Суть спидраннерства, по моему мнению, в том, чтобы казуальные уровни проходить наиболее эффективно (считая багоюзы), а порой и эффектно. Здесь же, скорее, игра-ребус, в которой идеальное время равняется и не может быть меньше, чем задуманное разработчиком...

...поэтому вывод такой: если Вы спидраннер, то дважды подумайте о покупке этой игры, возможно, Вам лучше просто спидранить дальше обычные игры типа Half-Life, т.к. SEUM чем дальше, тем больше теряет в бодрости и начинает душить хреново работающими скрытыми механиками.
Если же Вы нормис и Вас не волнует сбор всякой хрени на уровнях, прохождение на идеальное время и таблица лидеров, то игра отлично скрасит пару-тройку вечеров. ОСОБЕННО, если любите в играх рофлить под роцк с падений в пропасти, на шипы, в лаву и всякий подобный мазохизм. Только не забудьте запастись пывом и чипсами и игра пойдёт как по маслу!

It's fun, but much more so with a friend or two to compete against.
There are a few bugs here and there that do actually affect optimal pathing, etc, but for the most part you're fine. There's also a discord server that explains all this in great detail.
Unfortunately and in part due to a long-awaited update getting axed, the interest in the game has waned such that the online leaderboards aren't as tightly moderated (at least, as of last I played). This mean that gloobal leaderboards will have some cheaters, hence why I think this game is much better if you're competing against friends.
There is a friends-only leaderboard view per each level which is nice.

It is genuinely amazing how well-optimized it is for a platform. It truly respects your time. No waiting around for a level to load, no having to move your mouse just to switch levels. There's hotkeys for everything, levels load so quickly, and it never makes you wait for anything. It truly fits its "Speedrunners" portion of its title.

The level designs are neat, although some can be awkward, Overall though it was a pleasant experience, and even though I just stuck to the base game (can't get 666% unless you buy the DLC) I still had a fun time exploring all of its secrets and getting all the collectibles and the time badges.

Great fun, huge recommend if you're into platformers.

Egy belsőnézetes platformos ügyességi játék speedrun fókuszú játék.

Grafika és hangok jók.

A probléma az irányítás: a momentum megtartás és megváltoztatása néha elég nehézkes.

Minden pálya időre megy, mármint: duh!, de elég sok pálya elég trükkös! Elsőnek fel kell fogni a pályát, aztán lehet csak időre teljesíteni. A problémám az hogy ha a pályát végigviszed, de időn kívül, akkor nem ér, de végig kell a későbbi és trükkösebb pályákat vinni még akár időn kívül is, hogy egyáltalán megismerd!

Igazából nem az én zsánerem, ahogy az ilyen játékokkal szokott lenni, a fele után gyakorlatilag olyan bonyolulttá válnak a pályák, hogy nincs türelmem végig vinni. A probléma itt is a finom mozgások, vagy túl repülsz vagy szimplán nem érsz oda ahova ugrani akarsz.

Ennek ellenére a műfaj szerelmeseinek kötelező darab: van itt minden: easter egg vadászat, gyűjthető elemek, pálya felfedezős egyéb kihívások, végtelen mód.

It's a good game. The soundtrack is great, the levels are fairly easy, tough the additional episodes are kinda difficult.
Also the slope physics/movement sucks, steep enough and it lets you walk, but you float or something, really slows you down sometimes.

Stary siedzący przed telewizorem to zazwyczaj nudny i monotonny widok - w życiu kanapowicza to niebiański znak że nadeszła sobota i trzeba się napić, ale nie w tej grze. Tutaj stary podczas libacji alkoholowej odpala zakazana metalową płytę, wbija mu do pokoju diabeł, zaczyna się walka o ostatnią puszkę piwa i Marty - tytułowy bohater traci co do dla niego najcenniejsze czyli skrzynkę z alkoholem, a przy okazji rękę. Zastępuje swoją dłoń odciętą dłonią demona i wyrusza w piekło odzyskać skradzione piwa ... A to wszystko w iście metalowym stylu.

Wstęp może przydługi, ale to właśnie uniwersum i stworzony klimat wyróżniają tę grę na tle innych speed runowych produkcji. Gra jest bogata w rockową / metalowa muzykę, która powinna spodobać się każdemu kto lubi te klimaty. Poziomy, które przemierzamy są przepełnione krwią, czerwienią, kolcami, różnymi pułapkami, a scenografia jedynie podkreśla vibe tego miejsca.

Jak chodzi o gameplay to zazwyczaj jest dość liniowy - musimy wykorzystać różne specjalne zdolności porozstawiane po mapie i za ich pomocą pokonać poszczególne przeszkody. Niektóre umiejętności nas teleportują, inne tworzą pod nami platformy, dzięki innym jesteśmy w stanie latać, ale sztuką jest w miarę szybko przełączać się pomiędzy nimi i ogarnąć co gdzie jest potrzebne. Gra na każdym poziomie daje nam określony czas na pokonanie poziomu, a jeśli nie zdążymy to będziemy musieli powtarzać plansze. Poziom trudności jest dość satysfakcjonujący - wiadomo, to kwestia dość subiektywna, ale były poziomy, które przechodziłem w minutę, a były też takie, które zajęły mi z 20 minut. Są kolce, obracane elementy, działka, ale co ciekawe nie ma jako takich przeciwników, którzy by nam przeszkadzali.

Jak chodzi o minusy to gra niestety jest dość krótka - składa się z 100 leveli i jej przejście powinno zająć od 4 do 6 godzin. Nie ma również rozwoju postaci, ale tak naprawdę dla takiej gry to nie jest potrzebne.

Podsumowując Seum to bardzo ciekawa, tania i udana gra. Można się zakochać w muzyce, scenografii, gameplay bywa wymagający. Jest to idealna gra na jedno / dwa posiedzenia, choć jeśli ktoś będzie chciał maksować swoje wyniki, robić osiągnięcia na maksa to powinien się bawić i z kilkanaście jak nie kilkadziesiąt godzin.

This game truly stands out for its time and has aged like fine wine. The gameplay is incredibly fun, and the concept of a beer-loving metalhead running through the nine circles of hell is both hilarious and unique and I had an absolute blast. The achievements were also impressively creative and added an extra layer of enjoyment to completing the game to 100%. It’s still one of the best games I remember from my childhood, and I’m really glad I went back and fully completed it.
