Selaco is a brand new original shooter running on GZDoom, featuring thrilling action set pieces, destructibility, smart AI and a fleshed out story taking place within an immersive game world.
The story takes place during a violent invasion on Selaco, a massive space station that's home to the surviving refugees after the fall of Earth. You play as Dawn, an ACE Security Captain who, with her recent promotion and high level security clearances, is digging deep into the truth behind Selaco's murky history. Before she can finish her investigation, Selaco is rocked by explosions and armed invaders. While Selaco may take place in a large-scale conflict, much of it will be the personal story of Dawn, the center-piece of the game.

game good
This is the worst modern shooter I've played in a long time. The actual shooting mechanics are good but you're never really doing that. This game is about wandering around big levels and looking at your map wondering where the hell you're supposed to go next.
One of my favorites, and it's not even finished yet. It's clearly a labor of love and I am very much looking forward to Chapter 2.
Selaco was definitely a blast to play it took me roughly 9hrs to get through the game.
I did occasionally get lost looking for cards or get turned around in some of the earlier stages where the environments were much more open. But I had fun from start to finish and even when I was lost or confused It never took away from the overall enjoyment of the game.
The AI in the game is quite intense and really quite intelligent made me think of the good ole days of F.E.A.R. back when Monolith Studios outdid themselves with incredibly intelligent Ai which were fun to fight. That's the same thing here the enemies are fun to fight they actually will flank, will sit back etc. I still say F.E.A.R. has better AI because they'll flashbang you, anticipate your movements and flush you out or wait for you to come to them while the AI here is quite aggressive and impatient.
The soundtrack is on point very 90's and nostalgic which I absolutely loved I think my favorite score was inside the safe rooms it was very relaxing and soothing.
**Spoiler** I do think the horror element integration was quite short.
It reminded me of Halo Combat Evolved back in the day where it simply came out of nowhere.
I was expecting more of it after the events unfolded and it wasn't there..., now maybe you're building up to it with chapter 2 but I felt like that could have gone further.
Very well-polished for an Early-Access game, and a very solid and tight foundation for future updates. Combat is meaty with a good amount of particle effects and interactable bits in the levels (you ♥♥♥♥ these levels up with your gunfights), the weapons feel very punchy (Shotgun my beloved) and the enemies feel reactive and fun to fight. The difficulty will definitely kick your ass but it's a good kind of way, the kind of way that forces you to lean into every tool in your toolbox as well as the environment around you.
AND the soundtrack goes hard too
If you like FPSs and want an engaging, challenging, delicious slice of pie that the chef is currently cooking more of in the back, 100% recommend it.
Only downsides I would say is that there can be a bit too much downtime in-between combat. Some will like it, others don't. And the navigation, while good and contextual, can have you wandering around for a bit.

It is well made & looks great, but idk... something is off with this game — it is just not fun.
1. Most of game feels more like CoD than Doom — you shoot distant enemy silhouettes and quickly killed when not camping. Movement and mastery is actively discouraged — sit in cover and aim.
2. All locations are carefully detailed, but level design took damage and you always lost in same detailed corridors
3. Enemies represented as sprites somehow annoy me a lot
Legitimately one of the best shooters out there. It blows my mind that this run on GZ. Gunplay is top notch, music is great, movement is fun, and the world story are top tier. Absolutely adore this game.
Great game. I gave this game a chance as a friend recommended it to me. I have enjoyed it so far. Careful with the burger clicker mini game, It will pull u in.
Seriously one of the best first-person shooters I've ever played. The amount of polish and insane level of detail breaks my brain. Even though it's in early access I can't recommend this enough.
Also, the replayability is huge with its *special campaign* and built-in randomizer.

really very strong - good game, if not great. and that's only "if".
for what really is more of an immersive sim sort of first-person game - a SYSTEM SHOCK or what have you - there's relatively tons of action. and good, too - tight, compelling shooting with difficult enemies. strong stuff.
the environments are well done and immersive, the challenge (on higher difficulties, at least) is fully there ... I don't really have many complaints on this one.
DON'T get if you're looking for Doom -- DO get if you're looking for Doom X System Shock. it's even well under price, too. they're charging quite a bit more for the Terminator 2D indie sidescroll shooter than SELACO. that's pretty wild.

My personal impression is that Selaco is exactly what I wanted from Brutal Doom. Even more than that.
We don't need to be able to pick up every piece of furniture , every sheet of paper and every cup or soda. But here we are.
The devs really understand what made Brutal Doom great - the destruction, the particles and the splatters that you leave behind you. So they gave it all they can.
Smart enemies, destruction and gore and blood everywhere. I play this game on Ridiculous settings, which you know from Brutal Doom that it means everything is flying everywhere there are body parts and blood on the ceiling dripping. And on my system it dips to arroung 60 fps from stable 144 when I look at all the carnage from a fight, so it probably needs better optimisation, but eh, it's Early Access after all.
I have a great feeling about this game. It has Worshop support, great boomer shooter visuals, movement is tight, the weapons are great. Just a wee bit of optimisation and it will kick ass so much, however as a disclaimer I do play on Ridiculous level of detail and that could make any PC melt. Also I wish there was more enemies. Therer are a lot of times that I just walk arround the empty map looking for where should I go next. So eighter more or respawning enemies, or some better way of knowing where to go next.
I just dropped this for the third time because i guess i'm too dumb for it. I can never figure out where to go, no matter how many times i restart to see if i'm just losing a thread somewhere that i'll pick up with fresh eyes. It's all just boring white walls and blue light and infinite pointless useless interactables, none of which open any of the doors.
Which, gloriously, are shown as open on the 'automap', whether they're open or not. So it's the world's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Metroidvania that constantly lies to you about big huge open doors you haven't walked through, and then you find out it's actually locked/fake door #9,412
I've tried three different times over like a year and i just can't make a go of it. i wish i could.

Okay so as of writing this I am at level 4-2 and it has been an incredible experience so far!!
All the way from the soundtrack to the level design to the combat its very fleshed out.
usually I find secret hunting tedious and unfun so I give up halfway thorough, however I think secret hunting in this game is rewarding and the soundtrack makes it joyful because at least you have something great to listen to.
The combat feels punchy and bloody like brutal doom feels to play, the weapons have the perfect weight to them as well as a good variety of them. Enemy dying animations are really well designed.
The weapons also have many upgrades all giving and mixing different ways to play, there are permenant weapon upgrades you use gears for, and each weapon has suitcases you find through the levels where they each upgrade a specific gun with a unique attribute, for example, the SMG, by finding an upgrade can become dual wielded, or a mine gets to explode TWICE which is incredible!
I will say this though, In the first few hours I've had MANY MANY crashes, appearently something with the vulkan engine doesn't work well with my PC I don't know if others experience it as well and so if you want to enjoy this game without crashes, I would recommend (at least for now) to play on OPENGL instead which didn't crash once! :)

One of the best recent shooter that I have played. Must play for all people who enjoy boomer-shooter like games. Great graphics, world interaction, enemies, weapon variety. And wonderful design and atmosphere.

Brutal and awesome
It is fun to play when you are casual gamer. It feels like the classic game DUNE,
Game feels like a decent mix of DOOM, System Shock and FEAR(combat). Even tho in early access it provides pretty polised experience.
