Cool game. Sexy AND fun.
Voice acting is kinda ♥♥♥♥, though. Don't know if I can even call it acting.
An ok arena shooter, but for some reason the devs ditched this and went on to make rule no. 2 and updates on both games have been silent for over a year.
Didn't enjoy it as much vs its competitors. As an alternative I'd recommend checking out other high quality budget titles like Devil Daggers or Armored Head.

when i say tis a very simple arena shooter i mean SIMPLE! choose a game mode, enter arena and start blasting till your trigger finger goes numb. also, its a pretty colorful game with a pretty good soundtrack to go with.
a nice time-killer game for when ya got 15-or-so minutes of waiting to do. 10/10

Gameplay is simple horde mode but fun and addicting. 10/10 Worth using my mom's credit card.

Fun game, interesting and funny references to keep you engaged for a while if you just want an arcade shooter to turn your brain off for a while. Very good artwork and style that is always a plus in a game and the soundtrack is fun to listen to. There are a couple different game modes to choose from but not anything big and no different maps or areas, it would've been nice to see more enemies and places but it wasn't that big of a deal to just play a shooter for a while. Only downside really for me was that the achievement for dying 50 times is bugged and wouldn't unlock and it was the last one I needed.
Having never played an arena shooter before, I didnt expect much but figured 4 dollars was worth an hour or so of messing with it. I have to say that upon playing it, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
Rule No. 1 is a game I think is more than the sum of its parts. Its simple, its indie, but I think it does one thing really well, and that's giving you a reason to keep playing one minute at a time. Every time you load in, you'll discover a new voice line. Every time you pause, you'll discover a new voice line. Every time you kill something, every time you die, new voice line. Now you've ended your first game, and discover you've unlocked a new picture in your gallery. Wanna mess with the radio? Wanna play basketball? Want more pictures?
When you start getting good, you'll start discovering a few new enemies. Then you'll discover that every time you see them, they have different voice lines. This is a game that is very much elevated by the protagonist's voice acting and personality, and the game knows it. If you've ever watched Panty and Stocking in english and felt like half the reason you keep watching is to see what crazy stuff they'll say next, you kinda get it. The little hits of discovery keep me playing for short bursts that end up being longer than I thought they'd be.
At the time of this review, I've cleared the gallery and spent 4 hours or so on the game. For a dollar an hour, I feel like its a good value-proposition for me. It won't be the most groundbreaking game you've ever played, but its a cute little thing with spunk and personality, and thats all it needs to be.
Fun little fps game with good art but I'm having trouble with the "unfortunate reality" achievement, No matter how many times I die it wont unlock. I'm guessing the achievement is bugged but I got the "Got. Well. You know!" achievement before trying to get this one.
Extremely bad FOV scaling, no option to change it. On ultrawide it feels like 40 fov which is positively nauseating.
Dev actually stated they won't do FOV options for "competitive reasons"
Point 1: if you don't understand how fov scales across different monitors, horizontally or vertically, and you don't bother changing anything from the default engine FOV, listen to feedback from people who actually feel uncomfortable playing your game. Just because you don't notice a problem doesn't mean it isn't a problem at all.
Point 2: if a hardcore competitive game like Hunt Showdown has a FOV slider, why can't this? If everyone gets the option to change FOV, there is no competitive advantage. The real advantage is being comfortable with the game, and not letting people get comfortable isn't "competitive", it's straight up excluding everyone who gets motion sickness, has an ultrawide monitor, or feels uncomfortable playing at TV-range FOV.
I dream of a perfect world, where FOV scaling is set to vertical by default, and an FOV slider is included in every game, but alas the good ole "unfair advantage" bs argument keeps being regurgitated by every dev, from AAA to indie, simply because they refuse to understand how it works and it "looks totally fine" to them.
I understand that changing fov scaling after a game has already been made can be a tough task, but even just scaling the weapon sprites up or anchoring them to the bottom of the screen is a quick fix that many won't even notice.

Nowadays accessibility is so much more important than ever. There are millions of games to choose from out there, and if a game is nauseating to play, I'm just gonna be more critical about it and move on.
After all, I'm the one paying money to play it. I should at least be able to have a good time.
Very fun face paced arena shooter. Awesome tunes with keys for cycling music. Guns are fun to shoot. Movement is very fluid (you better master dashing). Has several game modes, including arcade, basket ball, endless stilettos and more. Sprites look great especially the guns, vibrant colours and simple yet effective 3D models. Enemies are varies from lingerie zombie to geometric shapes, walking jars of mayo giant flying teeth, etc. Very good clear voice acting, one liners are quite entertaining. Very fun and addictive. Worth the full price (it's pretty cheap). I highly recommend this came to anyone. Hardcore and casual gamers alike.
I would have recommended the game a couple months back. Everything was nice. Very good gameplay, satisfying gunplay and good, semi-tactical positioning was incentivized to compete with the enemies and climb the levels.
BUT:
In the last update the choice of which gun you can use was taken away and now guns switch out every couple of shots and cycle on their own, can't reload and can't choose. Fine. Everyone was using Deagle, so coulda just nerfed that. But anyways. Then I see new weapon. The glorious AK47 finally made it's way into the game. I wait 10 years until the AK finally pops up from the GIANT pool of randomly cycling weapons (a plethora of guns is generally a good thing but in this case I would rather just have one gun for the entire run...), just to have about 1 mag of sweet sweet AK47 satisfaction, all good and well. Functions just as nice as expected, full auto, satisfying sound and damage output.
Next time the AK47 randomly popped up I was full of joy, until I tried to shoot it and only one shot was fired. Weird... I could have sworn the AK was full auto before...
Apparently there is a bug with some weapons being stuck in low fun semi auto mode, for me this is happening mostly to the magnificent AK47 and M60 machine gun, which is hurting my heart every time it happens (my condolences to Mikhail Kalashnikov, he would not approve of semi only AKs, I'm certain) but this has been added to the bug list and I hope this will be rectified soon.
The game was so good before, the weapons were well made and well implemented. Yeah, the Deagle was sharply stronger than any other gun, and the dual Deagles were even more so. But in which game wasn't the Deagle nerfed? Every game in existence has nerfed it's Deagle, so why did everything else have to suffer because of it?
I can't choose which gun I wanna use, my AK47 is stuck on semi auto and I can't even plan my movement ahead and position myself well, because I'll never know if I will get a semi auto double barrel shotgun that shoots 12 times without reloading (it used to reload after 2 shots before, not anymore after update) or a grenade launcher or a stupid semi auto AK47 or semi auto M60 or a bolt action sniper rifle.
I seriously can't recommend this game anymore, and my love and appreciation for this game BEFORE THE MOST RECENT UPDATE was enormous. It was, as advertised, a great gap filler game when waiting for other games to update or download, but now the fun is mostly gone for me personally. It's just sad.
I will be waiting until Rule No. 2 will come out and hope for the best, hope that the team behind this once very enjoyable gem of a game will have come up with some better ideas to balance the game and keep the variety of gun choices flowing.
Just a couple thoughts and inspirations on how to do that:
-Ammo management system with specific ammo pickups and ammo counts for each and every gun (limits the Deagles ammo and use time for example)
-Just remove the Deagle entirely. If that's the price I have to pay to be able to choose which weapon to use freely instead of auto cycling, then so be it (AK47 for life!)
-give each weapon some sort of passive ability to diversify gameplay and give the player the means of adapting a specific strategy or playstyle of their choice (think movement speed buff for pistols for example, or movement speed debuff for heavier weapons. Maybe an extra dash for certain weapons, or an additional jump. Increasing reload speeds for more powerful weapons have worked for other games. Maybe bring back the old recoil system with harsher recoil for the OP guns. Generally speaking, make every gun feel more unique and make them more specific, more niche, more situational, so that there will always be a situation in which a certain type of weapon will be preferable to another; this way the Deagle should never be the ultimate choice for every type of enemy and situation)
-have weaker weapons give a higher points multiplier, so that competitive leaderboard players are incentivized to use "weaker" / non-meta weapons
-just make an AK47 only mode (just for me)
You get to shoot stuff which is actually very fun AND you get some tastefull art of the main character for it. What is there not to like ? Good music too.
Love the waifu, love the music, love the visuals and the charm. Not sure I'm a fan of a rectangular arena (movement with lots of enemies gets rough). Definitely not a fan of the lack of audio cues on enemies (the amount of times a zombie has smacked me for my lack of 360 degree vision is frustratingly high). Also, projectiles could use some extra visual clarity like a different color choice or perhaps an outline of some kind, given how busy the environment is on the eyes already.
Also, it has a free throw basketball mode.
Not a bad $4 to spend and I love the potential there is here. ABD, friends.
Goofy little arcade shooter, super enjoyable for what it is. I bought it on sale for under a dollar. Would recommend the sale approach!

Bought this because i was bored and forgot i wishlisted it, but its basically doom and call of duty zombies with a twist you also have to shoot crystals and of course the game comes with a a hot anime chick voice actor, and the ability to play basketball, so woo hoo excellent gameplay for $3 right there!

Great game for it's very, very cheap price.
I'd only say it desperately needs a run toggle instead of hold, sounds to identify dash recharge and for enemies coming from out of sight. Without these, the game feels a tad BS, I often get hit or even dash right into an enemy trying to evade another.
The visuals and music are really cool though and the main character's dialogues are full of personality, making it a fun game to boot up.
Just a very fun game in general, its very easy to get carried away with it and spend hours on it, even if you dont like shooters they have basketball, if ya dont like basketball they have really good music, if ya dont like music they have really good art, if ya dont like just anything about video games then its a perfect starter to video games, its just a real good game

I'll say the bad things first. A lot of the guns suck, you will find yourself using the same 2 or 3 weapons bc rifles take too long to reload and the starter pistal does too little damage. Best thing is to hope to find the blue pistol and fire that as fast as u can as it will one or two shot most things. I would love to see the devs make better weapons that are fun to play. The blue pistol and the knife are very fun and makes the game enjoy able and still a bit hard. Also more modes like a bigger area or a place where there are enemies as well as traps on the ground. (being able to change key binds would be nice)
The good things are I love the style of the game and how the enemies come are you.
I think this game has lot of potential. However I don't know if the devs will add more even if its just in dlcs

You can't change any of the keybinds to the mouse. I am missing a finger and change dash to Mouse 4 or something and turn on auto-run in games, so that I press shift only if I need to walk. This game is unplayable for me unless maybe I made macros and crap... Seems fun too, but accessibility is important. I'll update if they do I suppose.
Soundtrack is a vibe, excellent voice acting, and lovely community. Would highly recommend to anyone who just needs a little break from other games or if you’re just waiting for a download/update to finish.
I would definitely recommend this to my friends. This is a game where you can warm-up for the shooter game that you want to play. I would like to see this game to have a story mode so we (or at least I want to) can get more background of the character some more (Hoping more content would be made in the future). The art is really awesome. I also gotten the music that goes with this so I can at least listen to some of the music while waiting until some of my matches in between.
The only thing that I would improve in this game besides the possible story mode would be having some ques for the zombies and other objects in the game. It'll definitely help out with some of the reaction time and save some of the health that we have.
Overall this game is awesome to play I'll try and get some of my friends addicted to this game ASAP. Also would be great to get some more artwork to unlock in the future for this game if possible. Keep up the good work.
exactly as advertised. this game is fun to just jump in and play for short bursts and feels good. i have a few problems i would like to see changes to though.
visual recoil is really nauseating at times and an option to turn it off would be nice. the devil daggers mode is easier on the eyes for this reason. the VFX in general are also a little over the top and even on the lowest settings everything is a bit too bright and flashy. enemies can easily sneak up on you as they make no noise when moving and can sometimes even spawn on top of you. there is also no indication (as far as i can tell) when a zombie enemy will pop back up after death. games like Blood use different audio cues for this exact problem and this would be a simple solution, when a zombie is REALLY dead it will make a different noise.
also, options for FOV, toggle sprint, bloom, and other more granular visual effects options would be appreciated.
anyways, for the 3 bucks i paid for it, im satisfied.
I absolutely love this game. The gameplay keeps you constantly on edge and in a panic, leaving you seconds of reaction time to make your play as you keep dashing, dodging and shooting your wave through each wave. This is the perfect game to listen to your music whilst having a blast, or if you want to listen to the banging soundtrack. The game is chock full of fun quip dialogue (and the metal gear references kinda sold me on the game but that's just a little bias). My only gripe is that sprinting is not the default speed, or at least not an option to have on automatically, i feel that the game would improve majorly from this small change and have gameplay akin with modern doom, if not even better. Overall though the game is a must play, and makes for a great time-killer and a great time. Funny boob women is a bonus.
good game, as deceiving as the cover art may be, it's actually a really fun, almost doom like fps game. the gameplay feels smooth and the music/voice acting is really good. 10/10
Honestly, the only issue I have with it is that the zombies don't have an audio queue for rough location or at least respawn, can get very busy if you can't group em up.
Otherwise, 10/10 would recommend - gun lineups fun everything other than the zombies is p fun - hell even the zombies are fun if you don't lose track of the 4 corpse locations.
A solid arena shooter. Reminds me of some of the older fast paced shooters of old. From what I can tell most weapons are hit scan, so it makes shooting the fast moving objects of the game pretty easy. For the few bucks I paid for it I feel like I've gotten my money out of it already.
Do be careful though. Some of the pictures you unlock get a bit risque if that isn't your thing. They are pretty easy to avoid however, and the primary game play loop doesn't have anything overly bad. Some zombies, and knights in their underwear is about the worse I've seen. But they are pretty much just pixels. I might be wrong however, as I think on one of the later waves I saw a TV screen that might have had a naked body? Frankly, the game is so fast pace with dodging that I barely could tell as I tried not to die lol.
I think the highest wave I've made it to is something like 16 or 18? It gets pretty crazy. But because the waves stay the same. When you figure them out it feels like you're improving. Funny enough, I made it to around rank 80 on the comp leader board without even beating the game. So that should be some indication of the difficulty spike at the later waves.
The main character also has a surprising amount of lines. I personally found them kinda charming, but I could see someone who isn't into cussing wanting to turn the voice down. Otherwise I think the VA did a pretty good job of getting the character across. I'm still hearing some new lines even after the 4.2 hours (of this post) of game time that I have in it.
If you don't mind fast pace limited space arena shooters. For the few bucks this game is, I'd personally suggest it. Just beware you might not want to play this in front of children or your parents lol.
I'm personally excited to see the sequel of this game come out. The few clips I've seen on twitter look pretty rad. And the new sprite work looks solid. (Keep it up devs)
is worth for his price but this game can improve very much with a simple changes:
1.Make the standard velocity running and not having to hold shift at every moment its uncomfortable
2. Make the dash with invulnerability frames and that you can pass through enemies, its necessary for the random movements of the enemies, the double jump its not enough in my opinion.
3. And the last thing, i see this game has a devildaggers mode so you maybe have forgotten the AUDIO AMBIENTATION, look i died multiple times hitten in the back by something i dont know what it was, devil daggers prevents this with the enemies making sound when they are near, its so simple to do and would make the game in my opinion fair and a lot more fun.
so in conclusion the game is good but can improve a lot more with a little of effort.
Has a bunch of personality and is a good premise for a game, but needs to improve upon some stuff to make it worth sinking more time into IMO:
- Way too often I'm hit from behind from random bouncing shapes, especially in bouncer only mode. It's like an earlier review mentioned, there has to be some sort of thing to make them more detectable. (I'd suggest audiospatial sounds or something so you know when they're coming towards you). There's nothing really predictable about them, so you just lose health randomly. There's nothing intentionally playing around them can do, because there's nothing to intentionally play around.
- Have some checkpoint system or something every five levels or so where you can play from that point onwards but start with 0 points. At the moment, the game gets boring because you're just playing the same waves over and over again, because once you die (to random shapes that hit you offscreen) you're back to square one again.
- Too tight of a space for too many enemies at times; adding something like the RMB knocking enemies back while also bringing items in is a good idea, because at the moment it feels like kiting alone can only get you so far
- Enemy projectiles are colored green, which are the same color that the points you collect are. Definite communication problem
3 bucks, buy it, we really need more wave shooters similar to this, lot's of effort and care was put into the various game modes and the art+voice acting is a cherry on top of the great gameplay. Also LEADERBOARDS! so many games today are afraid of adding them! This has leaderboards if you're interested in competing for a top score.
More on the simpler side and short, but entertaining if you're looking for something you can pick up quickly and play for short amounts of time.
But beware, this is basically an arena shooter, with no multiplayer where you shoot random projectiles and enemies that come from random directions, don't expect anything similar to other boomer shooters in the market.
Absolutely a great game, lots of fun, pressing z in any game turns on the music which truly makes the game even better, bought this cause of the "waiting for download" but even then on its own its a very fun game, it def runs really well while I'm waiting for a game to download and i will continue to play this game for a very long time

Honestly, this game has helped me be better at FPS games. Not as much as something like Kovak which I love too, but at least with this it's a lot more entertaining than just practice. I find myself actually playing this to warm up to play other games. So mission accomplished.
The progression stops working once you hit lvl 14. You cannot proceed.
The only shooter that has made me motionsick with completely unneccessary weapon kickback. The weapon that did it was the starting pistol.
Do yourself a favor and do not buy this game

Game description is spot on. This is an excellent 'waiting-for-download' or 5-mins game!
Action IS silly smooth. Level design and music fits the game play well. Control is simple enough to use with number pad (I use a left-handed mouse setup). Also like game function 'Quick Switch Random Weapon' while still allowing manual weapon scroll, though no weapons wheel but that is due to high amount of weapons.
Want buy the DLC just to help out the developer.
Yes it is worth the $4.00.

Getting rid of reload and give all guns is a genius move (at least to me)!

where it falls short for me a bit is in the quality of life and game play area.
-there is no audio cue for the geometry enemies, zombies, and projectiles so if you aren't constantly turning your mouse you'll end up getting sneak attacked quite often
-sprinting isnt automatic, you have to hold it which to me makes no sense, as there is no situation where walking>sprinting, you dont get inaccuracy while shooting and running so why is there no auto sprint or at least a toggle option?
-as of current there is no level/score part in the hud so you cant see how well you are doing. I saw them in the video but idk how to turn em on.
These are just my gripes with the game but maybe i just need to git gud. Ill be returning the game personally but If you can get past all the negatives, or they dont bother you, by all means buy it. The game is 3 dollars for crying out loud, just try it out.

Absolutely worth the price. The gameplay is actually really smooth and fun. There is probably not as many audio queues as most people would like but frankly it is easy enough to look past that with the flow of the game. Also there is some art for people who have a permanent home in horny jail.
Unfortunately, there is a slight issue where some enemies seem to be getting stuck in spawn points and behind some of the indestructible environment. I have now gotten to Master Level 4 twice and gotten stuck because there is some enemy that I cannot see that is still alive. Given that most people haven't seen this level (according to the leaderboard) it is not a focus for most people buying.
Hopefully the spawning issue can be fixed!
game has a little bit of ecchi/hentai in it but i have to say that unlike most hentai/ecchi games, this one has extremely fun and addicting gameplay. side note: idk why it says ive only played 1.1 hours but i spent all night playing this game. its super fun.. even if you dont like hentai/ecchi, its still a really fun game with interesting visuals. and if you are interested in the hentai, there are 19 different artworks you can unlock. some arent as scandalous as others but regardless of these things this game is extremely fun. I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION it has voice acting. and pretty good voice acting with a few funny 1 liners. you can tell that a lot was put into this game just by looking at the sprite art. the sounds of the guns is very satisfying and the combat and visuals are very reminiscent of DOOM and DOOM 2016. its very arcade like. youre pretty much stuck on this rectangular platform and you have to survive for as long as you can. you have double jumps, sprint, air and ground dodges/dashes and quite a bit of unique enemies that will show up the further you go. so even though the pictures show geometric shapes, theres also other enemies that arent geometric shaped like these bee looking insects that shoot poison at you, sort of like the bot flies in fallout. TLDR, this is the developers first game, its 2 or 3 bucks and definitely worth the buy.

You know you've found a gem when the game was designed to pass time. I LOVE this. Not just the funny one liners or the variety of game modes, or the amazingly smooth movement that I would say is equal to games like Doom Eternal. No, my favorite part is how ADORABLE the voice actor is. I have 11000 points in it, and am not one to shy away from a hentai game on steam, but this is the first ever game where I haven't even bothered to look at the artworks. I love just sitting in the basketball gamemode and pressing pause, cause she has a variety of lines she says, I also love turning all the sounds off and just listening to her one liners as I avoid hordes of enemies. This game would be good without the voice acting, but with it, This immediately skyrocketed to my 3rd favorite game of all time, just behind Minecraft (obviously) and Inmost.
Arcade-y shooter, difficult enough to keep it interesting, self-aware and a good warm-up for my current favourite, Deep Rock Galactic!
Also, you can unlock ecchi of the MC so why the ♥♥♥♥ not?

Its the perfect FPS arcade/trainer/shooter game. Pick a cliche descriptor and that's this game, in a good way. Super simple, addictive, hard to master, easy to jump into a quick game if you only have a few mins to play. Controls are smooth and like any FPS you have ever played. Anyone who enjoys FPS games should ABSOLUTELY get this game. Dont let the Waifu/Hentai chick detour you, this game is pure first person shooter glory. The music is perfect for the setting, and the quips the girl throws out as you play are actually funny and entertaining. This is honestly a pretty solid shooter aside from the zombies which spawn out of no where behind you to ruin your lives.
It's challenging and the variety of weapons are a positive addition, with the added vocals and soundtracks (press Z if you haven't figured it out already) making it an enjoyable warm-up to shoot and dodge a bunch of shapes.
What makes this game great is what games need to go back to, they've focused on the simplicity and then added the polish to the game to give it that good feel.
If you're not down for shooting shapes, shoot some hoops! They have a basketball mode to relax with (be warned though, through the balls too far and you can't use right click to get them all back..).
Then for those who are interested, you unlock artwork for playing and earning points.
That makes it worth the price which is about as much as a servo pie.
Great Aim Trainer with Attitude. Great Visuals and Funny Dialogue. Challenging and Fun to play. Worth the price for amount of hours you can easily put into this game. Liked it so much i bought it for a friends as a steam gift.
Hard to complain for the price. A nice game to jump into and knock a few rounds out. Some minor annoyances for me though:
-Some sort of sound direction to indicate if enemies are behind you. The space you fight in is already very limited so dying to things seemingly appearing behind you can be frustrating
-Waves are fixed. Once you've seen the enemies that spawn from them it will be the same next time. Seems like a missed opportunity for this type of game to not have at least the arcade mode be random enemy spawns
Overall, very fun to just shoot things in this. Recommended!

Simple enough game with simple mechanics. Its fun even for someone who is self-admittedly horrible at this type of game. The voice lines are nice, the music certainly helps, and the veriety of different mods is a good way to keep busy or kill time. Its even got a leaderboard for the tryhards. While the game isn't AAA tier, I also dont expect that for 4 bucks.
A personal suggestion to the Devs - Keep Music selection going through the main menu and actual combat. Was a little annoying to have to keep swapping through to my genre.
I got this game because it promised me a good warm up or waiting for download game. I got it while i was downloading doom eternal and started enjoying it more than eternal (mainly because the non-cross-platform cosmetics) but I do enjoy it a lot. there are a few problems yes mainly the zombie girl enemies that if your not paranoid in every direction will always hit you. I also believe the points to unlocking art is a good feature giving a reason to play more and more. Not to say what you should do but I see an opportunity to create an upgrade shop with those points (possibly upgrades to the arena like high grounds or just added size) the one liners and even fourth wall breaks from the main character definitely add to the game. she is quite calming in my opinion and who doesn't love a girl who loves blowing up shapes? so from somebody who was just bored while downloading a bigger game i would like to suggest and support this game and hope to make it even bigger and better.

Cheap but not cheaply made fast paced fps arena shooter with some amazing Voice over work,music and some awesome art work to collect,highly recommended.
What a wonderfully ridiculous concept for a game, and it is admittedly fun, even if only for short periods of time.
This game is exactly what it says it is, and it isn’t trying to be anything else. But the softcore waifu face it puts on is only a part of the game.
This is not just another one of those hentai games flooding Steam these days (but it also is, it obviously is) but there is a lot going on underneath that… take it with a pinch of salt.

- In-game graphics are pixelated, basic, and old school. A lot like Nightmare Reaper and the thousands of other retro FPS games being churned out of late.
MUSIC & SOUND
+ nice electro soundtrack, I liked it.
+ Sound design and player character lines add a lot to the personality of the game.
This game knows [b]exactly[/b] what it is, and is priced appropriately. And what it is, is a fun as hell, but targeted, arena shooter hopped up on joy. It really is like Geometry Wars as an fps... and with a waifu. There's several modes to keep things interesting like an honest to god basketball minigame for when you just wanna shoot some hoops.
The devs kept things well within their reach, opting not to do some grand shooter that fumbles with a ton of poorly designed and thought out features, and while limited in scope each thing it does it does [i]perfectly[/i]. It's not a game you'll spend 60 hours in one go with, but you will keep coming back to it to nail that perfect run.
For the price, you're getting a ton of value, and I personally am going to get this for several of my friends. All that said, some negatives:
-The anti-aliasing here is horrid. It's UE4 so I assume it's FXAA and while that can be bad, it's the worst I've ever seen here, everything literally looks like the screen is smeared with vaseline.
-There's currently no way to search for you or your friends in the leaderboards. I know some people place more value in climbing the ranks overall, but I'm a bit more humble and just like to compare myself against my friends.
-While there are multiple modes, all of them take place in the same arena. It would be nice if there were some slight variations in the arena floor layout, possibly giving yourself more area, maybe a mode where the arena narrows as time goes on, etc.
That's really it, and these are minor quibbles that I'd guess the dev will fix or add with time.
So what are you waiting for, it's literally cheaper than a hamburger and will last longer, go get it!

I love all the games that recquires you to subconciously dodge things that are rushing at you by predicting their movements, always feels great when you manage to do that by a hair's lenght :D
shooting feels good, movements are good, mayo getting trashed is really funny x) If I were to make a complaint, it's that you're really not compelled to use most of the game's guns as they get outclassed really hard, maybe add a "no infinite ammo" mode in the options to (with their consent) force players to play with different stuff ? A mode with Random enemy waves could also increase replayability !
Also, as a personal question; I have no clue how to kill the cubes effectivelly, while they never get close to touch me, it feels like damage/hits are irrelevant on them as they sometime disapear by themselves or take 3 full magazines to go boom. Any tip so that I get to spend less than 5 mins on master level 3 everytime ? :D

There is a good game in here crying to get out. There is background music, footsteps, gun sounds and one liners, but there is no enemy audio besides death and hit sounds. All the shapes bounce around with no sounds, enemies spawn behind you with no sound. This game desperately needs someone to figure out its audio.
The lack of audio also makes you feel detached from the combat and the sense of unfairness it creates will probably be what kills its replayability. It never feels like you got killed because you deserved it, it feels like you got unlucky because something soundlessly spawned behind you.
There also isn't a FOV slider.

I've been set straight. Enemies don't spawn behind you, the spawn at the edge of the map at the portals.
It is indeed really fun and fast paced, definitely worth the price. Might be nice if they would switch up the scenery a bit more, but I don't have too much more to complain about. I don't even think that everything said in that review from Under the Mayo where he said that Devil Daggers was a good game, but this was not is accurate. I don't seem to be having the issue with the machine gun that he was having, so maybe the developer fixed it? I don't know. Still very fun game, for what it is.

Honestly this game is pretty fun. The only issue I have with the game is that if your not running and try to dash you stay still. Other than that is a really fun game to pass the time. In a weird way it controls like doom? I tend to just use one of the guns because it feels like it packs the most punch. A good challenge and great time waster. 9/10
I love the games feel and starting my own playlist in the background goes great with it. There seems to be "invisible" menus at times like on the game over screen were the only visible option I have is escape. I can't for the life of me get the in-game radio to work either (I have tried ALL keys) so non of the games fantastic music that I have heard elsewhere is available in game to me, along with that issue all keybindings that has to do with said radio are permanently stuck as "any key".
A great score-hunting game that I will play a lot more but I really want to be able to see what I select and want to hear that music!

The game is pretty simple: you get in the arena, you shoot stuff, you avoid stuff.
Pretty straight forward right?
This game will engrave in your mind by force something called situational awareness.
You will drop like a fly in the beginning. You'll learn to always be aware of what's behind you, and by your sides.

I'm going to recommend this game because it's pretty good for the price. But if this game was any more than $5 I would not recommend it.
And it's such a shame because this game is SO close to being REALLY REALLY good, but it has some major design flaws that are holding it back. I'm mainly making this review so that the developer can see what's wrong with this game so that future games can be better.
I want to be clear, I'm going to be harsh because I know this game can be better and I'm excited for the dev's future games and I hope lessons are learned from this one.
I've played many shooters over the years and have even made a couple myself. After playing this for almost an hour I can see that this game is really fun but it I can also see some major fundamental flaws that no shooter should have. I really want to play this game more and I probably will but these flaws are holding me back from playing for many hours at a time.
I'll start with the flaws, and then what I like about the game.
After typing this up I've come up with a very basic theme that covers all the issues with the game: Clarity. The game lacks some seriously needed clarity in a few different key areas of gameplay.
First major and biggest flaw: Sound design.
The sound design in Rule No. 1 really needs some work. The problem isn't the sounds themselves. Guns feel and sound good, the voice actress is great, menus sound nice, etc. The sound quality is great, BUT there is no directional sound. All audio sounds like it's playing directly in front of the character. No matter where an enemy is, it sounds like they are in front of you. This is especially annoying with the zombie enemies. The reason why this is such a fatal problem is because enemies are constantly coming at you from all directions. So when an enemy gets close to you, you don't know from where. This makes zombie enemies really difficult to deal with because you can hear them but you don't know where they are, where they are coming from, and how close they are to you. You just know they're coming. This makes the zombie sounds more of an indicator they have spawned rather than an indicator of where they are. So instead of following the sound to the zombie, you have to look around in all directions to see where they are, which is kind of difficult because green zombies will sort of blend with the background. What makes this even more problematic is that even after you have killed the last zombie, the zombie sounds will linger for a second or two more, so you don't know if you've killed all zombie for few more seconds. This is bad because after you've killed all zombies, you want to shift your focus to other enemies as soon as possible. But instead I'm looking in circles around the map just to make sure I've killed all of them. Sometimes I'm right and they're all dead, but sometimes there are still one or two more that are right behind me and I take damage.
Second major flaw: Too much randomness. The game just gets too chaotic and I mean in an unfair way. Devil Daggers or Doom Eternal can get really chaotic but you can still find your way through that chaos after learning. However in this game, because the enemies come from everywhere in all directions at the same time constantly, it just simply becomes impossible to track enemies and dodge them. I'll be dodge some of those octahedron enemies then all of a sudden one of them hits me from behind, I dodge it, then a zombie that I didn't see gets to me. Everything is so random it's hard to know what's going on sometimes. Also, in maybe 30%-40% of my deaths, I have no idea what killed me. I have no idea if it was an octahedron, a bullet, a zombie... etc. I think there are a couple things that could be done to fix this issue. Make the map slightly bigger, that way we have more room to move around and see where things are coming from. Another that could be done is to have indicators for where enemies will be spawning, and have them spawning from waves of directions. So one time they'll be spawning from the north, and then the south, and etc... Don't wait for the player to kill all of the enemies from the first wave, have them spawning based on time regardless of how well or poorly the player is doing. I don't know if these suggestions will work but there really needs to be more clarity and information given to the player.
Third major flaw: 50% of needed HUD. What is there in the HUD is pretty solid and is very useful, however I feel the HUD only shows half of what is needed to be seen. Currently what the HUD is showing: Health, grenade count, dash availability, what gun I'm holding, how much ammo I have and what's the total ammo count per reload, and how much health I have. However there are some things that are desperately needed:
1. What guns I have picked up. What I want is icons or something on the right or left side of the screen that shows what guns I have. Look at Quake Champions HUD. This is very important as I don't always know what gun I'm picking up cause some of them look similar from a distance (shotgun and tommy gun, super shotgun and lever action rifle). Oh also... when I press '1' to switch to pistol, I don't want to switch to basic pistol if I have the better pistol.

3. maybe something more but that's all i can think of right now
Things that I like:
1. The character and voice actress. I like the character's voice lines and personality that she gives off and perfectly fits into the mood and tone of the game.
2. The guns. The guns, although basic, are very fun to use and allow for different strategies. The only problem I have with the guns is that I wish
3. I like the enemies even though they are generic. They're pretty fun to shoot at in my opinion.
4. I like the art style even though there are some conflicting styles.
6. The game is fun in general and serves as a pretty good aim warmup.
7. I like how the floor (outside of the moveable area) turns red when you are on your last heart. Makes it more intense and makes it very obvious and clear that I need to be careful. (the game needs more of this clarity)
8. Gameplay is smooth and movement feels great. A lot of indie shooters mess this part up so I'm glad it works great here.
Again, I'm making these harsh criticisms because I really like the game and I want to like it even more. Rule No. 1 could be so much better and so much more enjoyable.
With all that said, thank you for your work and this game, and I'm really looking forward to Rule No. 2.
This Game is literally so good! The Movement is so smooth and while you shoot thousands of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cubes, these godly soundtracks are playing, that makes you too shoot these cubes even more!
You really cant complain with this cheap of a price, hopefully more updates to come tho!
PS: If one of these Zombies hits me one more time i will literally destroy my monitor.

bought this on a whim and it was the best decision i could have made, only have about 2 and a half hours but it might be some of the best 2 and half hours ive had playing any game. plus cute girl with guns make me go brrrrrrrrr. cannot recommend enough for such a great price
for $2.99 and a little under half a gigabyte, this is really a nice little game. fun, fast paced, almost first-person bullet hell action with a charming graphical style, and some nice little voice lines thrown in upon doing things like picking up a weapon, killing an enemy, or even just going back to the menus or quitting the game. there's even some nice artwork thrown in that you can unlock as you play. the soundtrack is a good compliment to the fast-paced gameplay as well. hell, if you want you can just go in and launch basketballs to the outer reaches of the cosmos. definitely recommend picking it up.
First off, the soundtrack is simply awesome, turning on the music makes everything better.
Gameplay is simple yet challenging. Tunnel-visioning onto one target is sure to get you killed. Situational awareness is a must.
And all the old movie quotes are a great icing on the cake.
Addicting gameplay. Take a few minutes to learn the controls and how the game works and you'll start feeling that need to climb the leaderboard. Def worth the $3!

The gameplay is fast paced and challenging yet remains fun. The soudtrack is really good and you can change songs on the fly. It runs super smoothly and also looks nice.
The only negative point I have is that sometimes the zombies can appear directly in front of you or even directly on you ! It happened only two times so far but it was annoying enough to be noted, hope they patch it because it's annoying to get hit and there's nothing you can do about it.
Overall, really fun game !
although it took me a bit to make it work, not because its an issue with the game but something with me. the developer was really helpful in trying to fix the issue. i did fix it and ive been just wasting a few hours playing it and its really fun. the multiple game modes allow for a fresh experience if things start to get boring which will take a long long time since theres so much fast paced action. that and the characters constant comments every time you pause or do certain thing are pretty funny. if i had to add one thing to this game it would be a multiplayer mode, like a see who can last the longest type thing. you just kill enemies until the last man falls but other than that 10/10 game
Very amazing game, the game play feels fluid and has a solid foundation. I play this game mainly while my games are downloading, but every time I catch myself playing this game rather than the one I downloaded.
Upon leaving my last review for this game i addressed a bug in the audio of where certain enemies had audio that couldnt be lowed, the devs were real quick to fix it. I do appreciate that the devs are actually trying to put effort into the game. I hope to see more either from this game or future releases!
The best $3 I've spent in recent memory. Such a fun and absolutely addictive shooter. The super fast pace and simplicity keep me coming back. Later waves turn into absolute chaos as you try to avoid enemies coming from all directions while returning fire with an entire arsenal of possible weapon sets. Topped off by the fact that the main character is a bad ass anime babe slaying enemies to a killer soundtrack. Totally worth the buy for anyone who wont miss $3.
Only problem I've run into is that my score is now stuck and I can no longer unlock any of the artwork. Kind of a bummer, but I figure this is a small bug that should be fixed.
I could not have asked for a better way to spend 3 dollars. Only about 3 hours in I am already having a blast zooming through the play area blasting the hell out of geometry, something I wished I could have done in High School. There are 5 game modes, each one having a unique way to play the game. There are also unlockable CGs (some possibly being lewd) if you care about that stuff. Being full of fun pop culture one-liners and vulgar word choices, the main character adds a lot to the charm as well.
Only thing I would critique is that the zombies spawn a little close sometimes, but it's not that big of a deal if you git gud
If you asked me how I'd classify this game, I'd say this: it is a fun little game with lots of potential.
I'm positive that the developers are actively working on this, so I am as well confident that it will not be a "forever in early access" game. In fact, comparing the game from my first playthrough on March 23 to now, so much regarding the game's movement has seemingly been improved, and another gamemode was added.
The following is subject to change, depending on how the developers progress.
- Pros
simple concept, easy to get the hang of
weapons feel nice and responsive
movement feels improved from when I last played. for comparison, it initially felt like I was controlling Leon/Claire from the RE2 remake(if you're not familiar with what I'm referring to, the movement in RE2 is rather sluggish/weighted to fit the horror setting). However, this game is clearly not survival horror, so an apparent speed/jump boost was much needed; and it seems the devs delivered. The current movement seems fast enough to evade enemies, but not too fast.
the art is absolutely phenomenal- both the CGs and the in-game sprites.
the music is great, and from my perspective as a music producer, it is well-produced as well. No major issues to speak of.
- Cons
as great as the music is, the selection is slim; I would recommend perhaps another two songs for each station.
the pistol's ammo capacity seems rather slim for dealing with the geometric enemies; I would recommend upping the cap to around 12-15 rounds.
the game could benefit from a larger arena, with structures as cover. that's not necessary of course, but would certainly provide more variety to gameplay. Maybe it could be procedurally generated each round/specific number of rounds?
- other notes
there's lewd art. I have absolutely no problem with that, if anything it's more of a pro on my part. Some other reviewers seem to think it's out of place, which is fair; but the lewd art gives the game a unique personality, and I appreciate that. There's explicit nudity contained within, but you have to go looking for it; so, really, it's not much of a problem if nudity's not your thing.
(once again, me personally, as someone that does occasionally make and enjoy NSFW art? I love that.)

This game surely got strong points in it, but at least for me, this game are missing some features that hopefully the Dev consider to add in the future. For example, I will spend more time if this game have badges and achievements in it.
Oh yeah, for the ultra display setting (the chromatic aberration and motion blur) are really annoying.
But overall, I love it.
An incredibly charming little boomer shooter, great for killing time, and geometric objects.
The voice acting is fun, Rule is a character that really deserves a campaign, hope that happens someday.
Surprisingly difficult! progress is difficult to make but rewarding when you do. The weapons feel nice, too.
One odd thing, for some reason launching the game opens my Oculus app and seemingly tried to open the game in a nonexistent VR mode? Seeing that fixed would be very nice.
Fun cute sounding voice actress. Some fun lines/one liners. I get it. its basic, and repetitive I don't mind that so much. But the enemies are kinda tanky and when you are confined to a small space with limited moves it can get annoying pretty quickly. Solid time killer, and an amazing soundtrack but combat is meh and i'll be honest this is one of those games where you play more to hear the quirky cute voice actress. Got it on sale for like 3 dollars.
Real fun game, appropriately price, with a cool OST that you can change on the fly, loads of guns, and a fun main character with many awesome (and some really silly) one liners. Rule No. 1 is still in Early Access but haven't really run into any bugs myself. The pixel art is a nice throwback to classical games, with many nods to games like Blood and Shadow Warrior in the one liners, and many movie quips. The first game mode is wave based, and you begin fighting explodey shapes that get progressively harder, and more enemy variants appear the further you get, until it turns into an absolute cluster of stuff flying all over the place. The devs are also great, as they seem to keep working hard on it, and are very responsive to the communities feedback to make the best possible game out of their concept. They recently added another game-mode for shooting some hoops xD, which I didn't expect but it works really well, and is a quick way to grind some exp. I can't wait to see what other game modes they'll be adding to this, and hope to see some kind of campaign someday even if it's in a different game altogether hint hint. The character is fun enough that I'd like to see her in some kind of campaign of sorts in a similar vein to some of the games she gives nods to. I'm really glad I bought Rule No. 1 on a whim because it's definitely been worth a shot, and it's only going to get better!

Rule No. 1 is a game that is frustrating because it has the bones of a game that could be really fun and engaging but misses the mark. is it worth 5 USD? Yes. But in it's current state I'd like to see it improved before I put more time into it.
Some things that stuck in my craw:

[*] The game booted into 1920x1200. My monitor is 1920x1080. However, the game does not permit you to change the resolution if it is running in fullscreen.
[*] The game doesn't have extra keybinding slots for keys, it's one only, so if you want to add an alternative, you replace the original, which mostly is fine, but I wish you could have extras to help with when you knee-jerk based on muscle memory.
[*] For a game where you are being assaulted on all sides but ghastly floating polygons, the game does not really provide any kind of situational awareness. I know that the things don't really touch the ground, but if something is directly behind you, you don't hear it, there is no indication that it exists, it's just there, and this is super difficult to work with in a game like this.
[*] The amount of ammo that guns can hold is very small, but I honestly question reloading as a mechanic at all. For a game like this, if you think of like say a Geometry Wars or a Super Stardust HD, you have different weapon types for different purposes, but you don't 'reload' and for a game like this, I just question why this has been placed into the mix. It feels like playing something like Space Invaders where you have to stop and reload. At the very least, providing an option for auto-reload once empty would be very, very appreciated!
[*] Similar to above, there is a key to collect all drops. It seems to be AoE and grab anything on the ground. In a game like this again, make pickups automatics. I don't see why this is an extra step.
[*] When you die, you get a "Continue?" screen...... there is no option other than continue. Nothing you press does anything other than start over again, and then you can exist from the menu. This is kind of superfluous, I don't see why it exists if it can't be used for any purpose other than continuing.
[*] The physics can be irritating sometimes. The special boxes for example fly straight up into the air when you shoot them with the shotgun... I really want the surprises inside and not for it to fly straight up into orbit when I shoot it.
[*] I love the different game references. "I live again!" Don't get me wrong, this is mostly critical, but the game has charm and I am not requesting a refund because I wanna see this continue to grow. The music options are also dope and very much appreciated.

Personally, it's a little bit difficult to play since I'm not very good at FPS games, however it's very interesting! I had a blast for the amount of time I've played. It's got interesting music, quite intense combat and a protag that has some rather funny and cheeky one-liners.
I'm usually not a fan of wave-based shooters but this one keeps drawing me back in. Bright colours, epic music, amazing movie and video game references at every turn, explosion, death, and pause. It's definitely a good time and worth it. Can't wait to see how it continues to develop.

While I like the attempt at a wise-cracking Gex-style protagonist, it comes across the same way as the "double rainbow" joke in Borderlands 2. If you enjoy that, then good for you, I suppose.
Since I've barely played the game, I don't feel right complaining about progression. I only hope that I can eventually start with a gun better than the absolutely useless starting pistol. This thing takes "pea shooter" to a whole new level of trash.
I also understand that the dev(s) barely know what they're doing and so probably got the menu system off of the Unreal Engine asset market (or it's built-in. I dunno; I've only mucked with Unity), but the menus feel rather disjointed and boilerplate. Again, probably because they are boilerplate. It's fine.
The weird combination of 2D weapons and 3D literally everything else is also weird, but I again imagine this comes down to using what was available to make a game. It's functional, and that's all it really needs to be.
The main reason I'm even bothering writing this review is that I think the devs forgot to remove the auto-turret button. Either that, or it's meant to be an easter egg based on the key it's bound to. Regardless, it kind of breaks the game, since I found that the easiest way to win is to mash turret spawns until the framerate is more of a concept than an actual property of the game.
Otherwise, I will once again repeat: the game's fine. It's what I was looking for, and that's all I can really say for it. Just... maybe take out that turret button if you end up adding leaderboards (which might be a Steamworks feature you get for free - might want to look into that).

Very interesting how developers combined rogue-like elements in an FPS with waves system.
It has a bit of a steep learning curve, simply because of lack of instructions. Developers probably decided to leave it like this to resemble old fashioned games where instructions were scarce, but maybe some players might underestimate the depth of the game because of that. One option to make it a bit more engaging to all kinds of players could be to have some event triggered voice tips on the fist runs, nothing too repetitive. Or even a short text box on new game explaining that you level up and get HP and unlock new weapons.
Overall pretty good! Lots of potential. Worth the money.
I tried out Rule No. 1 on stream with the developers for a few hours, and it was a ton of fun! It's a good modern entry in the wave based shooter series. It is currently a little bit lacking in content (I was able to unlock everything in the game in about 2 hours, and cheated my way to the final wave after 3 and a half), but the developers are planning on adding many new weapons and more waves as development continues.
The sound effects are crisp and punchy, all of the guns sound really powerful. Coupled with the wide variety of custom music tracks that you can swap between while playing, the general soundscape of the game is fantastic. The flashy visuals with the high action music make for a very satisfying experience.
Difficulty wise, the game could definitely do with a bit of a tutorial. Currently the controls are simply written on the pause screen, and nothing within the gameplay itself tells you how or when to use them. The low starting health and the excessive number of enemies right off the bat leads to a pretty high learning curve at the start. I'm not the greatest shooter player, but even with the powerful end-game weapons and having played for 3 and a half hours, I still couldn't make it to the final wave without resorting to cheats. I'm sure part of this is due to my lack of skill, but the early waves definitely feel like they're a touch on the brutal side.
The game has an interesting progression system, similar to roguelikes like Enter the Gungeon or Nuclear Throne, where you pick up currency from fallen enemies and crates to unlock permanent health upgrades and new weapons. The weapons are added to a random drop pool, so as you unlock them, you'll have to become more versatile, being able to use whatever you end up getting. The amount of time between each unlock isn't too bad, but only if you pick up all of the currency that drops. When initially going through the game I didn't realise the importance of the "pick up stuff" hotkey, and the dropped currency despawns rather quickly, so my first few unlocks took a rather long time compared to the later ones. I think the game might benefit a bit from removing the currency pickups from enemies in general and switching to more of an "experience per kill" system, and leaving the "pick up stuff" to be used for gun and health pickups.
Lots of polish in the gameplay in its current state, I only noticed two bugs while playing (one was something the dev forgot to take out, and the other is an issue with the UI when playing at resolutions other than 16:9). And, being in early access, it'll only continue to grow and get better! I definitely recommend giving it a try if wave-based shooters are your thing.
This game is properly advertised as a warm-up game and boy howdy is it a good time. Pretty simple, pretty fast paced and definitely lots of fun. It's a fun time and pretty cheap, it can get pretty wacky having a bunch of shapes bounce around everywhere, but all the weapons you earn while leveling feel very satisfying and fun.
Def recommend if you just want to kill some time, very fast to get in and out of the game.
This game bills itself as the ultimate warm-up/waiting-for-download game, and it pulls that off pretty well.
The gameplay is simplistic, frenetic, and doesn't want for much despite being in early release.
I feel like if an alchemist took a hundred FPS games from the early 90s and distilled them down to their essence, this would be the game that crystallized as a result.
The pixel art, menu art, and voice acting are all top-notch. Although I'm not sure why there are graphics settings lower than "Ultra." If your PC was made in the last 20 years, you can run this on max settings.
The game's heroine is like a... moe female Duke Nukem? Sort of. Anyway, the voice lines are entertaining and full of references to movies, video games, and memes, and honestly they add a lot to the game.
My only real complaint is that the cool title screen music kind of sets the expectation for cool level music as well, but the in-game soundscape is barren. Just gunshots and stuff exploding and/or making creepy noises when you kill it. Even the giant murderous tetrahedrons cartwheeling toward the back of your head are completely silent, which leads to some frustrating deaths.
Overall a fun timekiller and well worth the very small pricetag.
Needs more explosions, though.
