Sharpen your reflexes with RFLEX, a fast-paced, difficult game about dodging oncoming obstacles.
The gameplay is very simplistic, yet tough to master, only requiring the arrow keys, where you are able to move in 1 of 8 directions. You can move vertically, horizontally or diagonally, depending on which obstacles are headed your way, you have to react quickly and decide where you need to move as to not die.
The game features five different levels, all accompanied with epic music from an original soundtrack to really get you in the zone. To beat these levels, you are tasked with surviving for at least 60 seconds, a super challenging feat.
There is also an alternative mode, called drunk mode, which inverts your controls, and makes the game appear more "trippy". This can be activated for all 5 levels and overall, is just a massive increase in difficulty.
I absolutely love the messages after beating each level, which feel taunting, yet motivating at the same time.
Overall, a really fun experience, I strongly recommend it, and well, it's free, so there's no harm in trying but do remember, the game is extremely difficult!

nice rage game when i played it but now when i play it, it's just a black screen with glitched outlines of the boxes and constantly spinning i don't die or anything it's just infinite spinning how can i fix this?
Originally a $3.99 game that went Free. I forced myself to continue playing to see if it got better... it didn't. It implements a few minor aspects that similar games exclude for good reasons. This includes bullet/wall location spawning from the opposite direction of the previous.

A true challenge.
Everything in this game is designed to make you fail: the constant weaving and zooming, the pulsing background color, how letting go of the keys snaps you back to the center instead of keeping you where you were, and how little time you have to react to the incoming bars amidst all of the visual noise.
Sometimes I'll move directly into the line of sight and sometimes I won't react at all. Playing this game feels like my brain has been hijacked to perform poorly. I think it's best played in small doses or else you'll go crazy.
It looks simple, you only have to survive 60 seconds, yet it took well over 150? attempts and the amount of time as of writing this review to beat only the first stage.
It's a good free game, so give it a try if you want to challenge yourself, though be aware that it's disorienting.
Tip for the first level:
[spoiler] It took me awhile to notice the patterns, but when I did, I was finally able to relax and complete it. There are four patterns that I could see in the first level "Amusement." [/spoiler]

J'ai ce jeu depuis 2021 mais j'ai commencé juste aujourd'hui, je prends vraiment du plaisir avec les 6 niveaux disponibles qui sont de plus en plus dur, le système de record me pousse à recommencer à chaque défaites, et le classement mondiale et très excitant. Je recommande.

I gave the first level only a hundred tries, tried the other levels a dozen or so times each, and got tired of it.
It's pretty cool the dev is giving this one out for free. RFLEX is a hard game; screenshots show it takes most folks 1000+ tries to survive a minute on the last (5th) level. The bonus modes even more so. Just be ready for that kind of commitment.
For new players, RFLEX could have benefited from a set of tutorials. Something where the obstacles follow stronger patterns, or where the middle dots aren't constantly shifting. That would create a good difficulty slope and preserve the harder approach to levels later.
But as is, the game is clean, minimalist, and the initial difficulty spike warrants just skipping this one over.

游戏需要你操纵位于3x3网格中心的旋转正五边形上下左右移动躲避各行各列飞来的长方形，游戏的本质是躲避类型的音游。但困难之处是你躲避动作的操控方式是按住方向键，这会导致松手过快主动撞死或忘记本体的自动回弹而闪避过度。另外，游戏的容错率很低，很多时候在极限条件下很难闪避成功，使得难度进一步增加。
在电音和闪烁旋转的荧光背景下，极易让人分心和烦躁，但当你沉浸下来又很容易上头，死的次数多了，整个人脾气都好了。
总而言之，游戏非常难，但不要钱，也非常值得一玩。
玩了两分钟，人已经崩溃了

I had it crash at startup on first launch, until I determined it does not work with JRE14, so with a little bash hacking (linux version) made the launcher run it with an older version of java I had installed and then it worked great.

It's a bit more luck based than I'd like but once you know all the patterns its just a matter of time till the game throws you a run that you can get a S rank on, especially true on drunk mode. The soundtrack is amazing, worth downloading the game for that alone.

You reach a point where they're not testing your reflexes anymore, but your instincts.
You have to press a direction before the obstacle even appears at one point, making this a pure 50/50 game.
it's an ok game to train your reflex, good for kid, but get boring too fast...anyway, no harm to try since it's free...

Difficult (for me) fast-paced arcade game with CRT emulation. It was hard to recommend after my attempts to play it, but now that it is free, you should give memorizing the patterns (and beating my pitiful high scores) a try!

I bought this because I loved Super Hexagon and also played Open Hexagon for some even harder levels.
This is just a bit too luck based. Yes you do improve a bit, but it's hard to improve when most progress is due to luck. In SH you die in a second if you don't perform. You live or die by your skill only, you can't luck your way through it at all.
In RFLEX it's supposed to test your reflexes of course, but here that just means you get a diceroll of a handfull patterns thrown at you out of nowhere. They don't show what will come next (which SH does at the edges a bit) to be reflex based and with only 9 positions there's just not enough possibilities for patterns.
What do I mean when I say that it feels like progression is more due to luck than skill then? After getting like a 30 seconds high score on the hardest level I got 18 seconds after just a few minutes of sitting still in a corner, not moving at all! Getting higher times feels like flipping coins. It's not because I'm getting better at flipping coins that i get heads 5 times in a row after hours of slipping coins, it's just what happens with randomness and enough tries. In SH after you complete a hard level you can get fairly consistently good results because you have improved, and going back to easier levels means you soon break your previous records. In RFLEX the easier levels just lower your risk of death each pattern with less things to avoid, so you get higher times. But the speed is about the same so it's not like you have an actually easier or harder level, it's just more probable to luck into a safe position. So when returning to easier levels after practising at the harder onces I did about as well as I did on those when I just began playing.
Also the set patterns are fairly boring, seems like they could have less dead time between patterns and get more room for creative level design that way. As it is it is just very bland.
But hey I played it years ago and maybe my reflexes are just not good enough. It seemed like it might be a fine game if I just kept at it and learned som more so I kept playing for another few hours. But the design just seemed less thought out the more I played, compared to SH that seems trivial to come up with at first but actually reveals design perfection the further you sink into it. Play SH or One Finger Death Punch if this genre looks interesting.

Very fun game to pick up and play for a few minutes. The quick gameplay keeps you on your toes and the simplcity is perfect. Great for times when you've been sitting at the computer working on an essay; doing taxes, generally boing stuff; boot RFLEX up, play for a few minutes, get back to work. Great soundtrack, visuals are clean and simple, overall very well made enjoyable game.

Harder than Super Hexagon.
The control is simple. wasd/arrow keys as you try to survive for 60 second and avoid the patterns that the game throws at you.
It consists of 5 level, each with its own unique pattens.
Once you get the hang of it, theres a mode call "Drunk" mode. This is where the fun begins. Everytime the pentagon shrinks, it will invert your control. Not to mention with the drunk effect on the screen, you'll be a god if you complete this game.
