Storyline

Many years have passed since the ALLTYNEX incident and humanity’s resettlement of the Earth. The world’s nations have joined to form a unified economy and a global militaristic government. However, in opposition to the worldwide mass oppression, a resistance organization arose: Valkyness. The decades long conflict between the Global Unified Army and Valkyness is suddenly interrupted when an alien force arrives seeking vengeance on humanity for atrocities inflicted upon their people. Earth's war against the Raiwat leads to a surprising ending that reduces almost the entire planet to scorched earth, brings mankind to the verge of extinction and sows the seeds of the events to follow in KAMUI.

Абсолютный кинотеатр от мира игрушек жанра "лети и еби". Вообще, когда разрабы умудряются показать турбовую, эпичную постановку чисто в основном геймплее, ещё и в спрайтовой игре - у меня это вызывает максимальное уважение и отвал жопы, такие моменты всегда остаются в башке и порой вся игра ассоциируется с ними (финальный босс Intrusion 2, половина Bleed, схватка с мистером иксом в Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, битвы с колоссами в Shadow of the Colossus). Так вот, тут вся игра это одна большая эпичная постановка и это охренительно.

Так же стоит упомянуть, что музыка тут прям выше всяких похвал. Она во всей трилогии The Tale of ALLTYNEX хорошая, но именно в RefleX достигает своего пика, как по мне.

Cara sabe aquele jogo que faz você voltar a ser criança, e sendo assim, acabou de ver a coisa mais legal da sua vida, é como a parte final de RefleX me fez sentir, toda a parte final do Chefão.

A mecânica é muito boa, gostei dela até mais do que temos em IKAGURA, é muito divertido da counter nas balas certas, e não só isso você precisa controlar o uso do seu escudo, já que aqui não temos poder seja de bomba, laser etc, nosso escudo é a maior arma que temos.

O jogo é muito bom, mas pra mim seu brilho é na parte final, é muito foda, maneiro, todo tipo de adjetivo COOL que queria colocar aqui, fiquei rindo, achando foda, me divertindo no game over com 0 crédito no final e ficando empolgado pra começar de novo, é assim que um SHUUMP deve ser, FODA!

Sobre a história aqui já temos algo mais trabalhado, e uma surpresinha no final.

I like simple shoot 'em ups, and RefleX is a simple shoot 'em up. That said, it still has some rough edges that spoil my enjoyment of the game overall.

The game is called RefleX due to the game's gimmick that your spaceship is equipped with a reflective shield that also draws power from the ship's guns until depleted and has to recharge. Giving the ship a weaker shot until it does. Which offers a decent risk reward to relying on the shield too much.

Where the game gets even trickier is that only blue enemy projectiles can be bounced back. When they do, it is for massive damage. However, some enemy attacks go straight though the shield as well. So the player has to constantly weight the use of the shield vs. the limited time it lasts, the time it takes to recharge, weakening the guns until partly charged and watching out for enemy shots that go right through.

Even as a shump player of the ABS (Always Be Shooting) school of play, I can respect this mechanic to have me let up on the trigger for a bit. Where I think the game loses me is boss fights are just a little too long for me. I get that the player is suppose to puzzle out when to use the reflex shield to bounce attacks back, but I find stage boss fights cycle through their attack sequences a few times before I can put them down.

Worse than that, because RefleX gives the player a mostly invincible bubble, the game has no issues throwing enemies at them in any direction. And many enemies just loiter at the bottom of screen where the player just has to wait to attack them. End of stage bosses love to use the play area against the player by trying to ram into them, staying at the bottom of the screen where the ship's guns do nothing. It is bad enough the bosses love to move to either the plane above or below the player where they can't be shot. But a good portion of the reason boss fights take so long is they are in a position where the player can't attack them beyond reflecting attacks back at them.

And I don't take kindly to STGs abusing the player's play area against them. If the player is flying this advanced spaceship, then why are fenced in where the enemy ships use this against them in what should be open space? I understand it is just a game, which is why I accept some play area shenanigans. But RefleX takes it too far.

Which is maybe my biggest issue with the game. It feels way too gimmicky. The reflex shield isn't just an alternative to many shooters bullet canceling bombs. It is a core mechanic the player has to master and memorize when to use it best. Enemies use the confined area of the player because the game knows they are confined. Not because they have an attack pattern that herds them into bad positions/routes. This all rubs me the wrong way.

That said, the game is okay enough that I can give it a weak recommendation for shump fans. However, I don't think a modern gamer is going to become a STG fan playing this.

You don't know what good shmup looks like? Play RefleX. But don't sweat too much or the floor is gonna get wet. Use shield to reflect enemy's projectiles. Don't get hit too much or durability will get bonkers. Multi layered boss fights. Interesting stages keeping your eyeballs at the screen. Decent music. Enemy formations are different each time so prepare to get surprised. Difficulty is ok unless we're talking about final stages... Overall decent vertical shooter. Play it before you die or regret not playing.

In some ways RefleX feels like the awkward middle child of the Alltynex trilogy, but it's still a good game. The reflection mechanic is fun to use, the bosses are creative and varied, and there's more of an emphasis on story than in the other 2 games. One downside however is its length: this is easily the longest title in the series, and the stages feel like they can drag on at times. The mechanics are also a bit limited when compared to Kamui or Alltynex Second, as almost everything revolves around using your ship's shield. It's a different experience, for sure.

The zodiac symbolism found throughout the game is pretty cool, and while the visuals look they hadn’t evolved much since Kamui (especially those flat backgrounds), Siter Skain's ship designs have always been excellent. Like all the games in the trilogy, this one is welcoming to beginners with lots of unlockable continues and an approachable 1cc. Siter Skain really knew what they were doing, man.

(One last thing to note is that, for some reason, this is the only game in the trilogy to not include steam achievements or online leaderboards. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but it is odd.)

＜昔買ってレビューを書いていなかった作品。通常のレビューより簡素＞

オプションにはキーコンフィグしかない質素な仕様。

ゲームそのものはショットと反射バリアで戦う仕組みとなっている。

全体のゲームデザインは決してつまらないわけではないが、所々で気になるところがある。

まずボスが長くてダルイ。
1セットの攻撃をだいたい3セットぐらい戦わされる。

道中では前触れもなく後ろから敵が出てくる初見殺しがストレス。

それから肝である反射バリアだが、反射していてもどれぐらいダメージを与えているのか、そもそも当たっているのかわかりにくく専用の効果音を鳴らすなどして知らせてほしかった。

そういった「プレイ体験周り」に粗を感じたのが残念。

とてもではないが繰り返して遊びたいとは思わなかった。

普通にプレイできて道中も普通に戦えて楽しめただけに惜しい作品だった。

With a core mechanic this cool and presentation this awesome, this game should be one of those Cool Shmups that are known even outside the scene. It's a bit too long at 40 minutes and has problems with visual clarity, but makes up for it with a constant barrage of hype moments and a smart handling of the reflection gimmick.

I didn't like it at first, but after a few plays through it has grown on me a bit. The first half of the game is very good, and there the scoring system is pretty inventive. You reflect blue lasers back to the enemy, and each one that kills starts multiplying your score, first 2, then 4, 8, 16, 32 and finally 64 times the score. Once you get the multiplier up, any enemies you kill with your normal shot still gives you that score multiplier, but if you don't kill something for half a second, your multiplier resets. While it's pretty fun, there are a few issues with it.
That half a second timer is really strict, you have to memorize the game down 100% to make the most of it.
Some enemy sprites can shoot any type of laser, which means there is no indication what you will be shot with by a given enemy, did I mention you have to memorize the game 100%? You may be waiting for a blue laser, then they just shoot red ones at you.
Since you want to kill the bosses by reflecting a blue laser at them, they can fight for long periods without firing any, so you just have to survive until they restart their move set, making some boss fights really drawn out.
There is no leader board for score.

Fighting the space fleet early on is definitely the highlight of the game, But once you get to the 6th(maybe 7th) boss, Entropy, that is where the bosses start getting really drawn out; as your standard laser won't do any damage to them, you have to rely 95% on your shield to reflect blue lasers to do damage. The last boss is especially drawn out, it feels like 15 minutes, but is probably 10. your shield becomes unlimited, so the boss will do things like shoot a full screen laser, just hold the shield button for 10 seconds and your good, you can't die, and you don't have to do anything to dodge. This is what really makes it feel drawn out, as stuff like that happens throughout the entire boss fight.

So the shield is limited until the final boss, so you don't want to over use it, as it takes time to recharge, your main weapon becomes weaker the lower the shield gauge is, and if you are firing your main weapon, the shield charges very slowly. This kind of sucks when you use the shield to deflect a lot of shots, and you want to use your main gun to wrack up the points, but you can't sometimes, because you want to recharge the shield. To top it all off, as the shield gauge starts getting low, there is no audio queue to indicate this, your shield turns red but that isn't a good enough indicator.

Controls aren't great, to move diagonally you have to be very specific with your control stick. Ever since Gunvein I always complain when a game doesn't have full analog controls, but this is an older game apparently so I wouldn't expect as much.

In spite of all that, it's still pretty enjoyable, definitely worth the price. The reflector is a nice idea, the tone of the game is cool, and the scoring system is decent fun. Overall, it's good

最高にカッコイイ演出系STG。
背景で語るストーリー、シームレス風のステージ展開、そして怒涛のラストと、演出に関しては最高としか言いようがない。
システムも特徴的で、文字通りシールドで敵弾を反射するシステムはシンプルながらかなり楽しい。
そしてこのシールドを駆使して、高密度弾幕を大胆な動きで突破していくのがまた楽しい。
ゲーム性としてはかなり覚えゲー寄りだけど、弾幕STGのような精密操作や気合避けがいらないので、練習すれば必ずクリアできる絶妙なバランスとなっていておすすめ。

First, beat the game (which can be cheesed by dying immediately then choosing to not continue, which gives you a permanent extra life), then go to the mission select and choose the other vehicle. Next, select literally any mission, and drop your shield as soon as you reflect a blue shot. Congratulations, your DPS has increased by roughly an order of magnitude.
It's stupid and I love it.

Great classic shmup game. The presentation may sound dated but works well has enemyes, bullets and player visibility are cleat and pratical. The game is old but the gameplay continues to be good and passed the test of time. The mechanics are similiar to gigawing/mars matrix. The only negative i see is that the game is a bit long for the genre to be finished in one sitting. Things could have been a little more compact. Anyway. Siter Skain and qute are the best indie developers when it comes to classic shmps (no bullet hell). I recomend all games from then (this, altynex second and kamui). All the 3 have different mechanics and are good

Reflex is a unique shoot 'em up with a shield mechanic made by Siter Skain in 2008. It has eight stages to get through with a length of about 45 minutes.
You can take seven hits until you game over, your life recharges to full at the beginning of areas five and seven.
One extra continue is earned on each game over.
Your shield can reflect blue attacks and delete red bullets, missiles and physical contact will pass through, it recharges faster when the shot button is released. Killing enemies with reflected bullets or lasers in quick succession will give a multiplier starting at 4 and capping at 64. Killing enemies with your shot shortly after reflecting will keep that multiplier going until the orange bar depletes. Scoring does not help survival play but it gives the game longevity after beating it.
It has memorable moments such as a scripted event where your ship explodes but you come back with more firepower and infinite shield. The downside of this sequence is that you will also game over in one hit, memorizing every hazard on this part is mandatory for a one credit clear.
The music is great, the fast scrolling background and warning sound effects before each boss fight will send shivers down your spine.

まだ20年以上前の開発中当時からずっと遊んでいたので、同人版とは別にsteamでも買ってみました。

自分のマシンではWindows10由来での透過不良とは別に、OSかハードウェア相性？で画像が真っ白な四角で表示されるという不具合があり、なおかつ透過不良対策で付属するようになったdgVoodoo2(D3D9.dll等)を有効にすると今度は画面が真っ黒なままになってしまう（効果音等は鳴るのでゲームは進行している）という状態でした。

いろいろ試してみて、dgVoodoo2の古いバージョン(2.4～2.5系)をNotifications.txtをもとに配布元から取得し、exeのあるフォルダのdllファイルおよびdgVoodoo.confと差し替えることでうまく起動するようになりました。dgVoodoo.confは配布元版に付属の設定エディタで適宜編集するといいと思います。

上記症状で1年くらい解決策を探したので、もし同じ症状の人が居れば一助になればと思います。
個人的にはそこまでしてでも、未だにたまにプレイしたくなる作品です。

縦スクロール敵弾反射STG

飛んできた敵弾をシールドで跳ね返して自分の攻撃にしてしまうSTG。
ただし、跳ね返せない弾もあり、ミサイルの場合シールドを貫通するので注意。

ー良いところー
・『分かっている』演出。男の子大好きなものが盛りだくさん。
・熱さと悲壮感が合わさったBGM。個人的にここが一番の評価点！
・今見てもキレイなドット絵。

ー悪いところー
・中々な難しさ、初見殺しがハンパじゃない。この作品以外にも言えることですが。
・ゲームシステムを理解しないと突破が困難な箇所多数。
・一部目に悪そうな演出、これは自分だけかもしれませんが。

スピード感・熱い演出、カッコイイBGM！少々高い難易度…
2000年直前に発売された同人STG最高峰の一つではないでしょうか。

I played the original title this game is based on (Reflection) back in the early 2000s and this remake has a lot of massive improvements, although the player aircraft in the original game had access to rocket launchers (which has been removed in this version) that can keep firing while the shield is deployed and can penetrate enemy shields. Dodging missiles in stage 7 and the final stage (where your plane loses the side cannons and can be easily picked off one-shot by enemy missiles coming sideways) could have been more fun with this original feature where you can shoot down some enemy missiles with rockets while the shield is on (while also chipping off the robot's HP through its shield).

El segundo juego de la saga ALLTINEX y el segundo en orden cronológico.

Muy buen juego, la historia se sabe contar por si sola y la banda sonora es excelente.
El reflector es algo complicado de usar al principio pero luego le agarras el tiro, es una mecánica muy interesante.
Además, hay un nivel donde eres tu solo contra toda un a flota enorme, es que no le puedo pedir mucho más.

Recomendadisimo, sin embargo te recomiendo que, si puedes, lo compres junto con los otros dos juegos de la saga ALTINEX, realmente vale la pena.

De algunas manera steam nunca registra las horas que tengo en el juego, pero tengo un par de decenas.

Por cierto, si quieren jugarlo con mando pero no se los reconoce si lo usan por bluetooth (como a mi con el mando de PS4), deben iniciar la configuración del juego desde la carpeta donde esta instalado y allí iniciar el juego, de esa manera ya debería funcionar sin problemas.

Vertical space shooter. Tight controls. Old school memorizer with interesting bullet reflect mechanic. Nice presentation and graphics. Okay audio. Quite challenging as was the standard back then.

This game deserves more attention. A very fun old school style arcade shooter, if you like top down shooters with a moderate to hard difficulty, I definitely recommend you check this game out. Great soundtrack too!

一共8大关卡，用命堆的流程大概1小时左右！
可惜老游戏~没成就~没云~没F12截图~[/h1]

游戏特色是可以使用防御反弹敌人的子弹，而且攻击力还更高！
不过不是所有子弹都能反弹的，只有能量类型而且颜色是蓝色的才能反弹！
导弹碰了直接扣血，红色的只能防御，后期没血槽设定下会直接扑街！

一流玩家一命通关~
二流玩家躲避弹幕~
三流玩家莽上去~
我这个不入流的只能用命堆了！一共8大关卡我用掉了130多条命~

游戏一共7个地区（场景/关卡），最后一个关卡大片大片英文后还有一个Boss战！
最后那场弹幕简直绝了！要不是能防御反弹我都要····
剧情反正看不懂~QAQ~但似乎最后主角干掉最终Boss后也自爆了~

这种日系复古游戏记得别按Esc，会直接退出游戏的，要是凭习惯手贱按了Esc~哈哈哈~重来一遍~
通关后能解锁游戏内的原声集模式，一共22首音乐，音乐还是很好听的！

The good: Great concept. In a way Reflex is the anti-thesis to many SHMUPS and especially games like raycrisis, raystorm, rayforce. It's also the final game in a shmup trilogy that is one of the best unknown gems. The music is great and the game is full of surprises from start to end with lots of ear worms.

The bad: Run times are about an hour which seems too long for a shmup by about 20-30 mins. Also a very big difficulty spike at the end which some will like and others will hate. You can level select so no biggie.

Overall its great just be prepared to lock in for long sessions if you want that full clear

很有意思的老派彈幕遊戲
主角機不用吃東西強化自己的攻擊能力，而且主角機擁有特殊的反射護盾可以抵擋藍色、紅色以及紫色的子彈，其中藍色的子彈會反射變成主角機發射的子彈
因為護盾無法抵擋飛彈或撞擊而且有能量限制，能量不足甚至會影響普通射擊，因此在合適的時間開關護盾便是這款遊戲的關鍵

I'm a HARDCORE FAN of scrolling shooters(shoot'em up/shmups). I'm a CASUAL PLAYER of the genre.

What I mean to say is that I enjoy the moment to moment action and kinetic movements of playing these types of games. Often times I play with an arcade stick and on a vertically orientated monitor("Tate" Tah -Tay, when available/applicable). I tend to jump around from game to game over a few beers rather than being OCD about mastering scoring systems and mapping optimal pathing routes. For me, non-stop action and thinking on your toes is what I find so deeply enjoyable about this genre.

Reflex is one of my favorites, hands down. Not quite as bullet-hellish as a CAVE game and you aren't constantly made to adhere to screen filling bullet patterns. This allows for a moment to moment freedom that I enjoy so much, and doesn't demand strict adherence to optimal pathing. Just dodge the bullet and you'll likely be fine(save for a few later bosses).

Reflex is unique in that you can reflect certain projectiles(blue colored) back at the enemies by running into them while your shield is active. Your shield depletes a meter every time you use it. Stop using your shield and your shield will regenerates. It is this risk/reward balance that makes the moment to moment action in Reflex so enjoyable.

If you reflect bullets back at an enemy and it destroys an enemy you get a score multiplier. That's about as far as I've tried to examine the scoring system. Doesn't seem like the most robust scoring system in the genre, but it servers it's purpose and casual high-scores are fun to chase(however, no online leaderboards). As you play the game you will unlock more continues("credits") over time. That's a good thing as Reflex isn't the easiest shooter out there, although it's far from being the most punishing. Another rather unique thing about this game is that it isn't single hit death, you have a shield and also life bar allowing for a less harsh learning period.

The graphics are low resolution sprites and embrace the golden era of shooters. The story is 'whatever' and doesn't really matter to me. But there is nice "story staging" which I think a lot of games of this type could learn from. It allows the player to feel like part of a story's motivations, without the actual need to engage in the story/lore outside of the gameplay. You feel part of something bigger than just playing a game, but it doesn't force-feed you unnecessary story/lore allowing the player to use imagination, should they choose. I feel more games of the genre could benefit from this sublime mixture.

This game is greater than the sum of it's parts. The soundtrack is very good and compliments the action and encounters remarkable well. This is one of the only games that gives me chills every time I play it(the entire space armada level and the Enropi boss battle are standout phantasmagoria crescendos). I really really like this game and recommend it to anyone craving twitchy satisfaction.

The sequels Kamui and Alltynex Second are pretty good too, but not as unique or satisfying as Reflex.

Nice shield mechanic, reflecting all white bullets, hence the name RefleX. If the reflected bullet hit the enemies, there will be multipliers for scoring. Gameplay looks fun. Good music too.

One minor issue is that the game doesn't recognize Xbox controller, so you have to turn off Xbox controller support in the Steam setting.

I revisited this game after amassing a lot of credits to see the ending. This game gives extra credit every game over. And wow, this game is just so good!

Stage 1 & 2 is what I would expect from an indie game, but then came Stage 3. This stage is what I would want if a game company ever want to make a Star Wars shmup featuring a Starfighter fighting a fleet of Star Destroyer. That was a blast to play.

Due to the mechanic of the reflector shield, some instance force you to play like Ikaruga due to how they design the enemies and the bullets. Really great gameplay and satisfying to pull off.

There is also a boss fight (?) where there are like 5 or 7 ships and they just send 2 by 2 to fight you while the rest just observe from far away. That was badass.

Last boss fight. Oh my god! That was just over the top, it's so insane! After you fight for awhile, then came the 'wing' moment. That was so epic! I really got goosebumps witnessing that. My jaw just drop opened trying to finish the fight.

The whole gameplay is like 40+ minutes so it's like two loops of normal shmup. Really really fun to play even with credit feeding. I really recommend people to play this blindly towards the end.

I generally like shoot 'em ups, but I really don't have the reflexes or patience for this one. The only somewhat original element here, the recharging shield that reflects bullets you activate, is not enough to compensate for the punishing difficulty. Combine that with no difficulty levels, limited continues (you do eventually get more as you keep dying), no story to speak of, only one non-upgradable weapon, and it's a no go for most players except the diehard bullet hell-fan and/or the Japanese teenager. Keep in mind I only managed to beat three bosses and clear one area, so I have seen very little of the game.

Excellent Taito Rayforce style shooter, very easy to get into with solid graphics and great controls. A very forgiving game that any shooter fan can enjoy. Good amount of stages and cool bosses round out this title. My only issue is the lack of any modern updates just a simple resolution patch would help this game so much. Very Recommended for the price even if it is not on sale.

RefleX is a dynamic shmup whose core mechanic is both immediately intuitive and fundamentally game changing. While its graphics aren't perfect, even for the time, it is a stellar example of what a shmup can be. Its greatest achievement lies in the simplicity of its innovation, introducing the kind of mechanic which makes one wonder "why hasn't this been done before?" and which recalls other greats of the genre such as Ikaruga.

GAME PLAY
=========

RefleX lacks various staples such as power ups, bombs, and even different weapons. Instead, it provides only a gun and a shield, only one of which can be used at a time. The shield resists all energy projectiles and reflects many of them back. Use of the shield is controlled by a meter that quickly recharges while not firing.

As simple as it is, this layout makes RefleX unique. Every challenge now has multiple solutions, from shooting to dodging and recharging to timing your blocks against the enemy's strongest attacks to get the most out of your meter. This also allows less skilled players to enjoy the overwhelming "bullet hell" curtain fire that limits other titles to die-hard fans. Boss design capitalizes on the core mechanics well, as do the stages, although perhaps to a lesser degree unless you're gunning for high scores.

Beginners will also appreciate that their ship can actually take quite a few hits, and regains its armor every few stages. Experts, meanwhile, can focus on stringing combos of reflection kills together to build up their score multiplier, adding another dimension to the game.

PRESENTATION
============

The shmup genre doesn't lend itself well to integrating story and gameplay, but for the most part RefleX's attempt adds more than it detracts, giving context that's more engaging than simple "humans vs. aliens". Where it sticks the landing is in its set pieces. One example that stands out in particular is a stage that has you weaving in and out of an enemy space armada, avoiding fire at all angles while making a series of attacks against the fleet's flagship.

Graphics are mixed, with detailed, consistent mechanical design and clear bullet patterns marred in a few places by backgrounds that are either bland, overly chaotic, or even look like they were lifted straight out of Google Earth. That being said, an effort is made to avoid basic scrolling and convey a sense of depth. As an older game, low resolution is just a fact of life in RefleX.

The soundtrack is well composed and works in spite of the mediocre synthesizers of the time, offering a darker and more serious tone than is usual for the genre while retaining the high energy one would expect. Sound effects are basic but do their job of informing the player when certain kinds of faster projectiles are being fired.

FINAL VERDICT
============

RefleX is a fantastic choice for any one with even a passing interest in shmups. Its core mechanic offers something new and elevates it to a level few shmups reach.

まず、基本的に箱コンなどにはゲーム敵には非対応。JoyToKeyとかでやらないと無理です

It looks like a config file has been made since I originally reviewed the game and it can be played in full screen 120 fps.

Most importantly it controls and plays smoothly.
Sound is really clean and the music is surprisingly good.

No ability to adjust volume in game or through the config launcher so it still could be better.

Bottom line - this plays and sounds very well and has enjoyable game play mechanics (ability to reflect blue incoming back at enemy and use a shield which recharges over time).

It's a recommend however price should reflect the overall package so things like nonadjustable sound etc should be considered.

元々はSITER SKAINというサークルさんから発売した縦スクロールシューティングで、2008年にリリースされたそうです。
このサークルさんの作るSTG作品はいずれも完成度が高く、本作もそれに漏れず素晴らしい出来となっております。
他の方が述べられておられる通り、Reflectionという作品のアレンジ作(Area 1～4)＆続編作(Area 5～8)のような内容となっております。
Area 3までが収録されてる体験版がSITER SKAINさんのサイトでダウンロード可能ですので、それで遊んでみて気に入ったら買いです。
まだSteam版は数回遊んでみた程度ですが、同人版の方とプレイ感に差は無さそうです（同人版がVersion.1.02の場合）

＜上達しがいのある、良質なゲーム性＞
本作は弾速がやや速め・初見殺し的な部分はあれど、普通に遊んでいれば避けられなくなる攻撃はまずありません。
そのため「なぜ、どこで被弾した」「どの敵を速攻で倒すのが最適か」を考えていけばちゃんと先に進めるようになるはずです。
シールドは敵の危険な攻撃から耐えるように使い、慣れてきたら返すべき攻撃はどれかと考えていく…この試行錯誤こそが本作の醍醐味だと思います。

＜印象に残るBGMと名演出＞
激しめな曲も多いこのシリーズの中では珍しく悲壮的で重い曲も多いですが、捨て曲は一切ありません。
個人的には全STGの中でもトップクラスにBGM・演出が卓越した作品だと思っております。
印象的な場面も多く、
　・ゲーム開始時にプレイヤーの母艦が、Area 1ボス「ヴァルゴ」によって破壊される
　・奥行きから弾を放ち回転しながらカッコよくArea 2ボス「スコーピオ」登場
　・亜高速で敵を蹴散らしながら地球へと戻るArea 5
　・「ヴァルゴ」と共に敵を追って…本作の転換期を迎えるArea 7
　・Area 7のその後が語られ、最後の勝負が行われるArea 8
特にArea 8は前ステージにクライマックス級の演出を入れているにも関わらず、それにも匹敵する素晴らしい演出＆BGMです。

＜ドットの細かさ＞
本作は敵や背景が丁寧なドット絵で描かれており、演出の盛り上げに一役買ってます。
おまけに造形も非常にセンスが良く、安っぽさを全く感じさせません。
本作のボスに惚れてファンになった方も恐らくおられる…はず。
自分はボスの中ではエンロピ（Area 5ボス）がお気に入りです。

ただし（些細な）欠点もあります。

＜日本語が見れない＞
本作は元々日本の方が作ったゲームであり、同人版だと日本語で収録されておりました。
英語になったため多くの海外の方が読めるようになったのは良い事なのですが、どうせなら日本語にも設定変更出来たら良かったのに…。
ゲームというよりSteam版の仕様でそこだけ不満（と言っても、同人版を探して買えばいいのですけども）

販売会社が変更になったと同時に、日本語版が追加（復活？）されました。
Steamのアプリケーションを開き、「ライブラリ」からRefleXを選択し右クリック→「プロパティ」→「言語」の順番に選べば言語を変更出来ます。

A shmup that revolves around a shield mechanic. You don't get really power up or multiple weapons (or lose any when you die), you start with a huge spread gun and an activeable energy shield that can block most shots, the gameplay revolves around managing the use of your energy shield. I really love shmup where you don't lose power ups and become useless once you die. You also start with a low number of continues, that increases as you play the game. It really give you reason to hone your skill and also make you feel like you can actually finish this. Combined with engaging heartpumping dramatic soundtrack that's not too obnoxious, and an over-the-toply cinematic flair that's still not distracting, this is honestly the shmup I always wanted to play. Better late than never I guess!

You can easily see where ZerOranger got its inspiration from.

RefleX is an awesome SHMUP from SITER SKAIN and the second game of the Tale of Alltynex series. Similar to the melee combat in Alltynex Second, RefleX features a unique game mechanic, i.e. reflection, and expects you to learn and master it in order to beat the game. I have found the visual style better than Alltynex Second and loved the colorful graphics and once again, the epic boss fights. The only problem with RefleX is its difficulty. The game is quite difficult and takes about an hour to beat. Developers tried to overcome this by giving you an extra continue every time you see the game over screen, but it will still take many “game overs” until you finally beat RefleX. Another great game for fans of the genre.

遊び始めて30分ほどですが、クリアできるんだろうか（コンティニューが足りません）
絵的に神威、RefleX、ALLTYNEX Secondの順でのプレイを進めしたいです。

いちおうコンティニューを駆使(？)して最終ステージ 1歩手前のプリエンドと ZODIAC Libra(？)まで観ました......1ミス Endなのでその後は知りませんが。

攻撃の苛烈さのわりに 1時間弱のプレイ時間は長かった。それまでの演出重視の STGがだいたい 1周約 30分弱、長くても 40分程度だったのに対して 1周 1時間超えはコンシューマを除くと 2000年代に入る前から傾向はありました。コンシューマはそれこそ際限なかったように思います。

最後(最後と思いたい)のステージを観た感想としては、もう少し区切りをはっきりさせてほしかったな、と。最初の段階からクライマックス感があるので 5ステージ+ボスラッシュ+最終ボス程度でも良かったのかなーと。

お勧めであるのは間違いないです。中太レーザー反射にプレSSで気づくなど(ヘタレ)

箱コンで動かないという方がいらっしゃいますが、購入直後からこちらでは Xbox360の純正ワイヤレスコントローラーでは動いています。最近になって X-Input側で対応したのかもしれませんが。

基本、自分の遊んだ STGのなかで Xbox360ワイヤレスコントローラー使用に目立った問題があったものは(私の購入したもののなかでは) Loversくらいでした。目立った問題というのはこの場合、組み合わせしか選ぶことのできない限定的なキーコンフィグ、バインド設定をしても無効になってしまう、マルチプレイ時の認識不具合などです。

一款不错而且挺有创意的弹幕射击游戏
有别于其他弹幕游戏的全程躲避子弹
这款游戏里控制的飞机有着一个能反弹地方子弹的特殊护盾（默认按键X）
而且这个能力是非常重要的——有部分弹幕是无法依靠走位躲避的（而且越到后期，这样子的弹幕数量越多）
游戏总共7关+最终BOSS章节，每一关的构成各不相同，并不是完全一样的关卡设计
比如前两关，都是小怪+小BOSS+小怪+大BOSS的流程构成
第三关则是一场围绕摧毁超巨大宇宙飞船的剧情展开
后面更有机械战甲型BOSS的超长首领战，或者连续7个BOSS的车轮战
直到第七关的剧情杀+超神进化，变成了护盾无限但一击被杀立刻续关的最终形态
总之游戏流程还是非常值得期待的，不过游戏难度当然也是摆在那里
大部分的时候弹幕虽然并不密集，但却有很多瞄准后射击或者少量跟踪效果的子弹存在，甚至还有一些能直接穿透护盾的导弹夹杂在中间，令你措手不及

Pretty cool soundtrack, love that the stage selection and sound track selection give more detail to the setting and story. I really like the level design, for example, I like that in one level spaceships in the background will actively attack your ship. It's also pretty neat how the levels are crafted in a way that using your shield in the right moment can save your ass and obliterate all, or most, of the enemies in front of you.

Un juego con una mecánica sencilla pero eficiente. Un botón de disparo y otro escudo el cual refleja los disparos azules. Aquí no ha hay power ups, ni vidas extras. Usa un sistema de ensayo y error, cada vez que se termine los continuar iniciales, al salir la pantalla de game over te agregan 1 más.

Gracias a la mecánica explicada en el otro párrafo el juego se alarga, ya que debes aprender las mecánicas y trucos de los jefes y niveles. Para intentar llegar mas lejos.

A nivel de jugabilidad el juego esta a la altura de raiden iv, super r-type, silversurf, section z, exceed, riveraid, etc...

los gráficos sencillos pero geniales los efectos de rotación 7 muy bueno.

Pero lo mejor de lo mejor la música. Jamás pense escuchar una música que superara a la de final fantasy 6, ys (o cualquier juego de falcom), etc. pero lo hizo la música es algo de otro mundo en este juego. Es demasiado perfecta es prácticamente el 50% del juego.

Lo único malo del juego es que no hay forma de tomar screenshot en steam de el. Debes usar un capturador de imágenes externo.

RefleX is a shumup, I liked it a lot, there is a good interface, but not your standard bullet hell shooter, good animations, awesome main menu, sublime sound effects, but no bombs, and it seems there is no way to speed down the spaceship, so they introduce a new mechanic called shield with the second shumup button, its limited to some time and it seems it makes you take less damage while holding the shield button, the most amazing thing about the game is the opening intro, like I always say, devs nowdays don't make openings in games like "Rage 1" for example, so when they do it makes the game shine a bit more, could recommend for who already know how to play shumups, for now I can't complete even the first level of the game.

To play this with a Steam Controller, you need to go into Big Picture Mode and adjust the Desktop Controller Profile. I suggest you add an Action Layer, then assign a trigger or something to Long Press which activates that Action Layer. In that Action Layer, set the Thumbpad to ARROW KEYS and set a the Right Grip to X Key (RefleX), the A Button to Z Key (Shoot), and any other input to the Enter Key (Menu). Don't forget to add a Long Press on one of the inputs which switches back or turns off the new Action Layer for when you're done playing.

You might see a low play-time in my review, but trust me I have probably a 40 hours in this game. Those hours are from back in the day when RefleX was not available anywhere and you had to get a grey-area copy from Japan using somewhat nefarious means.

This game is near-perfection. Buy it at full price.

Nowadays quite many people seem to confuse every shmup for a bullet hell game. This isn't a bullet hell. What I had heard before trying this game was that it had the most overpowered shield ever and it was easy compared to the other shmups. Well it is, if you keep credit-feeding through it. I'll have to admit my first playthrough was beyond awful and there is much replaying in for.

The gameplay feels quite weird because stuff shot at you can be blocked and there is quite little actual need to evade anything except sparse missiles. The gameplay is however fast-paced and utilizes sound quite well. In order to anticipate what to do, player needs to pay attention to the sounds of the game. At its best the game gets hectic and doesn't give any breather. In those cases you'll desperately try to find a place in screen where the shield could cool down a second while listening if any lasers are shot at you. This happens mostly in the bosses which are the best part of the game. Levels however are quite forgettable and easy to push through, thanks to the shield. In overall the game is quite nice, but like the other Siter Skain shmups, this one also would have also benefited from some fine tuning.

Also worth mentioning that soundtrack is exceptional.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game, A fast, frantic shmup with a great shot reflecting mechanic.
That said, the game has some issues on modern hardware. To start with the game is 4:3 only, and only supports resolutions up to 1280x960. The game does have controller support, but its janky with xinput, with analogue sticks not being read, meaning if you have a 360 pad, enjoy that god-awful D-pad. Things are much better with a Dinput controller such as a DS4 since it reads that just fine.

Graphically, there is an issue where sprites may not show their transparancies correctly, resulting in all the sprites having black boxes around them as they fail to render correctly. If this is teh case, try using dgVoodoo DirectX dll's to fix it.

Know that none of the issues the game has will ever be resolved, due to the brilliant decision that NyuMedia were not allowed to alter the game in any way for its steam release, why? Who knows. But it sucks.

Issues aside though, as far as the actual game goes, this is a fantastic shmup, with some beautiful sprite work and fantastic design. Stage 3 in particular is great, and if you've played Kamui the final level has some nice touches.

This game is awesome. It's such a throwback to the old ps1 shmups. The gameplay is really really good and the shield mechanic is really fun to master. The music is great. The graphics look a little dated when run in full screen. Definitely a recommend.

The Sagittarius level is one of the most creative levels i've seen in a shmup. It makes you feel like you're playing one of those space battle scenes from Star Wars.

This is an old-school shmup that'll tickle your fond childhood memories.

I really like the shield mechanic, it makes for some very interesting combos and strategies. Compared to KAMUI, this feels much more refined, yet deeper than even some recent games. I'm really enjoying this one.

이 게임 보자마자 끌려서 샀는데

생각보다 레이저 반사나 탄반사 라는게 정말 잼있더라구요

7방맞아야 터지니까 생각보다 목숨 널널 하네 했더니 무지막지한 탄막....

마지막에 보스때 하이퍼레이져인가 처맞고 터졌을때 ...아 망햇네 이걸 어케막아?

했더니 각성해서 '오오오오' 하다가 한방맞고 터져서 음... 뭐지이거....

걍 일반탄 안쓰고 적탄 반사만 해서 깨는것도 가능할듯?

그래도 진짜 재미있게 했네요

不错的慈善包小游戏，机制非常新颖，加了一个无敌盾的设定。画面不错，难度设定很合适。敌人跟BOSS的设计也很巧妙。

Je le comparerais à Kamui, mais je préfére Refex car il est plus "simple" et ils ont pris soin d'ajouter le minimum cette fois ci: la config des touches.
Sinon, son coté retro et bien bourrin sont ce qui me fait l'apprécier et le recommander.
Eprès, ne vous attendez pas à une tuerie non plus! C'est surtout que les jeux du genre sont rares.

RefleX is the second chapter in "The Tale of Alltynex", the game is also a remake of the original game: Reflection, just bought from the 2017 Steam Summer Sales and fell in love with it. Here some pros and cons for the game:

The pros:
+ The story is now more complex and darker than before.
+ The graphic looks old (as a 2008 arcade game) but notstagic with a lot of explosions.
+ Very well-level designs (8 long stages) with some dynamic visual effects. You play the game as if you watch a movie and it's really cool.
+ Amazing soundtracks that fit the atmosphere through out entire game.
+ Responsive control scheme. Still recommend to play with a controller. And can be rebinded by using Autohotkey to match your play-style.
+ Very simple gameplay mechanic, you got 1 offensive weapon (The Vulkan Shot) and 1 defensive weapon (A photon Shield). Switching between these 2 weapons will help you survive throughout the stages. Be careful as you use your shield, it will deplete your energy gauge which will affect the vulkan shot power. With some practice efforts can help you 1CC the entire game.
+ Pretty simple scoring system, use your shield to reflect enemies shots (be careful with missiles) and build up the multiplier (up to x64) and then use your vulkan shot to maintain the combo meter by clearing waves of enemies..
+ The game has no difficulties but it will increase at each stage.
+ The game is very optimized, runs smoothly with constant 60 FPS.

The cons:
- Sometimes when you use the shield, the energy gauge will deplete too fast that can put you in danger.
- No Replay section for you to watch your entire playthrough.

Overall, this is a fun and challenging game with simple gameplay (remind me of GigaWing series as the scoring mechanic based on the shield). More story and dark secrets will be uncovered in this chapter. Recommend those who want to seek for challenges and even for beginners of this genre. Wait the game for sales, worth it.

P/s: If the game has the 3D graphic likes Alltynex Second, it would be great.

おま環だとは思うんですけど、自機や敵の弾などの画像？が透過されてない状態でした。流石にコレでプレイ出来ないですね・・・
同じパブリッシャーで買った「eXceed 3rd - Jade Penetrate Black Package」でも同じ現象が起きました。面白そうだと思ったんですがちょっと残念です。

This game quickly became a favorite bullet hell game of mine. Everything is great from the game flow, mechanics, music, etc. It does play in a low resolution (1280x960 max), but the game was so great that I overlooked that annoyance.

Um dos melhores jogos de nave que já joguei. A mecânica é simples mas profunda, com o recurso de ativar o escudo para refletir os tiros de volta para os inimigos. Mas o que faz o jogo bom é a fluidez do jogo, trilha sonora excelente, chefes divertidos de combater e fases épicas. Funciona muito bem em resoluções maiores e é muito bonito.

후반부의 연출은 매우 좋았고 매우 재미있게 플레이한 편이지만

기본적인 난이도가 너무 높다.

게임오버 할 때마다 컨티뉴가 늘어나긴 하는데 처음부터 프리플레이인 편이 좋지 않았을까.

曲が良く、ラストバトルが熱いと聞き、初Steamで初購入しました。

ただし、当方Windows10ユーザーのため、初回は起動できず、起動できるまでが熱い戦いとなりました。
Steam上から起動するとうんともすんとも言わず、エラーログすら出ないのですが、
RefleX.exeを直接クリックするとXINPUT_1_3.dllがないといわれ、Google先生に尋ねつつ
DirectX End-User Runtimes (March 2009) - 日本語を手に入れてインストール、
ようやく起動できるようになりました。

ゲームも苦労に見合う面白さでした。
反射できる弾と防げるけど反射できない弾がある、ショット中は反射シールドの回復が遅れる、など、ゲーム性もよくできています。
ラストバトルも滾ります。なんとかノーコンテニュークリアできた時は喜びもひとしおでした。

一つ、私の環境（Windows10, GeForce GTX750）だと、突然ゲームがインアクティブになることがあります。
小窓でプレイしている場合は突然ゲームが止まり、そのまま待っていると数秒後にポーズ画面が表示、
全画面表示だと突然画面が暗転、やはり数秒後にデスクトップ画面になり、タスクバーのRefleXをクリックするとポーズ画面になっています。
起こるときと起こらない時があり、起こるときは数分おきに数回連続で起き、どうもその日の初回PC起動時に起こるようです。
正直そこまで致命的なものでもないので、そういうものだと思ってプレイされた方が良いかもしれません。
