This games was clearly inspired by streets of rage.
And that is not a bad thing.
Graphics and sound are decent and the gameplay will keep you busy for some hours.
This is ofcourse best when you play this together with someone else.
It's a lot of very simple fun!

La primera impresión es clara: esto es para quienes extrañan los beat ‘em up clásicos, pero también para quienes disfrutan el caos en [b]cooperativo local[/b] (pantalla compartida/partida) y el “tú me cubres, yo me robo el combo”. Tiene [b]compatibilidad total con mando[/b], [b]logros[/b], [b]cromos[/b], [b]tablas de clasificación[/b] y hasta [b]Remote Play Together[/b], o sea que técnicamente puedes arruinar amistades a distancia, como Dios manda.

Raging Justice is a brutal scrolling beat 'em up that reminded me of Pit Fighter and perhaps even more closely it's spiritual successor Guardians of the 'Hood.

I was unsure about the style of the game at first, but I was surprised by how much depth there is to the gameplay. A great feature is the arrest mechanic, where you have to capture bad guys to get health items. This makes you think about how you fight rather than just mashing buttons.

The game can feel unfair when there are too many enemies on the screen, but it does make the action feel more intense. There are even parts where groups of enemies surround you to create an arena, which gives it that classic Pit Fighter feel.

There are plenty of weapons to pick up and interesting bosses to fight, and it's a game I'd highly recommend to fans of the genre.

Raging Justice feels like a 90s action movie, and looks like it, too. The art reminds me heavily on Age of Barbarians, with that pre-rendered characters, and kind of stiff animation, that gives it a grat B-movie vibe. Some things I like the most:

+ Great graphics, especially if you like the look
+ good combat mechanics that have to be mastered
+ great variety of enemies and locations
+ a nice twist: if you arrest enemies instead of beating them unconscious, you get some health back

The only thing slightly feels not so well is the weapons, which are way too few, and if you have one, it breaks after one unsatisfying blow. But instead: you can use a tractor, and thats a perfect alternative :)

So for $15 I figured I'd take a shot and see what the deal was about this game. One thing I was concerned about was the movement speed of my fighter. But after watching a couple gameplay vids on YouTube I was satisfied. I've seen the comparisons to Final Fight, but as a kid I was playing WrestleFest more than anything at my local arcade. But as far as this game goes the creators definitely deserve their flowers. They definitely put the time and effort in. They give a cool beat up with a sweet look to it and cool tweaks like the ability to put someone in custody. This game is definitely worth its price and is sure to provide you with good nostalgic fun..

Un Beat em up generico, buenos graficos y jugabilidad, Calidad team17 Asegurada sin dudas. Le faltaria un Workshop y editor de niveles para mayor jugabilidad pero safa... la verdad que la campaña no esta tan mal, te vuelve a esos años 90 y bien logrados sin duda.
Buena jugabilidad, sonidos y musica dentro de todo.
Logros y CROMOS mejoran el titulo ademas claro de Cooperativo y remote play together para reforzar justamente esto.

Really... It is an ode to retro side scrolling beat em ups, and you haven't put a short invulnerability, to avoid this?
All the classics had it, and ESPECIALLY Raging Justice that you are not invulnerable when you are knocked down, should have it after a few hits...
One may say that is fair because the same applies for the enemies.
Sure, but they are many, and you are just one, two, or three.
Especially if you play alone like I did, there is no one to save you...

I will not even talk about the last boss... Maybe the most annoying thing in a sidescrolling fighting game ever...

Weapons are breaking like they are twigs... You are supposed to arrest people, but how can you do that if the game throws waves of enemies, dynamites on the ground, and a million other things?

If you get the detective, and use the elbow move, you can stun lock even bosses and ko them...
Bosses have annoying moves that grants them invulnerability that last for WAY too long... (The pimp with his whirlwind attack is a boss that should never exist in a game like this...)

Food restores way too little energy, and enemies (even the most basic ones) do a lot of damage and can empty your life with a few hits if they stun-lock you.

Very good try, and have promise, but this has to be addressed in order to make it more balanced. Needs an updated asap.

P.s. Besides the detective that looks like someone who had too many plastic surgeries, the protagonists are not that iconic, and memorable... When someone saw Haggar, Captain Commando, Arthur, Blodia, etc, was always thinking "wow cool character" Here, all three characters look like they are a parody.

This pile of junk isn't worth 15 dollar.

The game's controls are very limited and stiff, with few attacks or movement options. The flow of the game is weaker than 1989's Final Fight.

Gameplay drones on and on with enemies swarming in unfair configurations, players being knocked down into helplessness with no chance to fight back, and the underutilized "arrest" mechanic that seems absolutely pointless. The janky, awful animation doesn't help.

Team 17 should be ashamed of publishing this crap game.

Buy this only $1, that is a steal if you play with friends.

Игра в классическом Бит-м-ап жанре, как Streets of Rage или Mayhem Brawler. Трое героев на выбор. Графика немного пластилиновая, но хорошая и плавная.
Сюжет ходим по уровням и бьем гопников, бандитов, есть боссы в конце уровней. Замесы с большим количеством врагов в игре будут!
Можно изибить врага и если он упадет можно его сразу запинывать хех, есть так же
шкала оглушения врага (как в игре God of War), появляются звездочки над врагом,
сразу его бьем. Есть собаки-враги. Можно поднимать оружие: дробовик, нож, бейсбольная бита,
мусорный бак, пожарный гидрант, стул, бочка и т.д. Враги кстати могут кидать сами
предметы. Можно 1 раз в игре поездить и подавить врагов на тракторе! Игра несколько коротковата, но и стоит при этом 58 руб. Изменить управление можно, но не на любые кнопки, если есть джостик играть будет норм.

Un beat them all comme je les aime bien, des graphismes avec un style unique dans son genre à la Killer Instinct, on y trouve quelques références par rapport aux beat them all que l'on a connu: l'effet du coup batte de base ball sur un ennemi par rapport a Vendetta, les motards qu'on peut désarçonner comme dans Renegade, etc... Quand au scénario, il n'est pas très recherché mais bon... Marrant pour se défouler à deux pour passer un bon moment. On a le choix entre 3 personnages avec leurs style et leur panel de coups. Les ennemis seront toujours les mêmes dans pratiquement tous les niveaux sauf les boss. Il y a des défi à remporter dans chaque stage qui ne se révèle pas si simple que ça. Je trouve bidon de remettre certains boss alors que l'on les a déjà battu. La difficulté y est ce n'est aussi facile que ça et les mobs peuvent vous être parfois relous. Ce n'est pas le beat them all par excellence, mais vous y passerez un bon momrent.

I was certainly "raging" by the end of Raging Justice, not because of it's "difficulty" the game just keep throwing enemies non-stop and arrest mechanic is worthless when there's ten enemies on screen.
That the weapons break in two only makes this game more miserable...

Finish in three player mode. Animation is so stiff. I triggered a bug in the final boss where he got stuck doing nothing as long as I didn't change my position and attack pattern. I can't recommend the game, though.

比接管这种半吊子还要差，平衡性和爽快感都巨差，很纯粹的恶心人。
剧情不用说，无视就行，我觉得英雄救美已经很老套，它连这个都没有。
平庸的美术，角色像随便设计的，敌人之间的关系看上去都不挨着。
人物动作帧太少不流畅，导致不管哪方走动出招都看上去别扭。
动作设计等于没有，完全的王八拳。
敌人杂兵来来回回就6种的换色：
1-普通男
2-普通男换服装的版本，没感觉有什么区别
3-普通女
4-炸弹男，扔炸弹的频率非常高，地上随时有炸弹
5-第一关boss
6-第二关boss
对的，2个boss被拿来当普通杂兵出场。
总共9关，里面除了2关的会被拿来当杂兵，还有3关是重复的boss，真正只用一次的boss只有最后一关。
敌人的攻击会打到自己人，会看到满场敌人被自己人痛殴，除了破坏玩家攻击策略外没多少意义。
2种有招数霸体的boss充数小兵也是出场率非常高满场串，玩家很容易被各种杂兵打倒，前面2种boss杂兵只要霸体出来打到你必然倒地，炸弹炸到你也倒地，连最普通的男女杂兵出拳打你都是要连到你倒地的，想后退都是没办法的，还无法普通拳脚还击，最好费血放保险解决，而放保险对敌人的伤害比一下普通攻击还低，自己费的血竟然接近四分一的量，爽快感很低。
每关都有挑战，挑战是不可能一次都做完的，都得刷，还有很大的运气成分才能完成，逮捕罪犯因为上述的那些原因挺难办，杂兵被揍晕倒地时不能逮捕，得站起来的时候你才能逮捕，他们自己还会互伤，在人多时很难把握到时机，非常愚蠢的设计。挑战需要逮捕的罪犯出场时会闪红光标示出来，但是一会就没了，混在一堆重复的杂兵里，根本就看不出来谁是谁了，傻逼透顶。
币用光了再继续游戏进关卡是只有你之前进关卡的血量和币量，美其名曰“这样当你通关时你就不会觉得自己滥用了系统。”，换句话说，你最后死的这关打不过的话只能背板硬过，无法像街机靠投币堆命，要不然就去前一关重新打，尽量留命。
成就系统也挺恶心，明晃晃的让你刷时间，难度还非常高，非常重复。

It's quite difficult and has a learning curve but this is a pretty decent beat em up, once you've adapted to the play style.

The two things that really make it stand out from others in the genre are:

1. The best way to get health is to arrest enemies. Grab them, stun them, then arrest them when they get back up. This adds another layer of strategy to things and is something you really want to do when there's less enemies on screen.

2. You can continue from the start of any level you reach, but only with the lives and credits you had when you got there. This gives you a strong incentive to replay early levels in short bursts and improve your performance, which is a great way to add replayability to a beat em up.

Better than I was expecting and I'm glad I finally picked it up.

Für 1,94 € ein echter Schnapper, hab es einfách gekauft ohne groß nachzudenken, hat ein bisschen aus Body Blows, Double Dragon, Street Fighter usw...Mir macht es Spaß die komischen Typen umzunieten ab und zu mit dem Rasenmäher über deren Visagen drüber zu brettern, das doch schick. This pile of junk isn't even worth the sale price, and the 15 dollar retail price is a robbery. The game's controls are very limited and stiff, with few attacks or movement options. The flow of the game is weaker than 1989's Final Fight, and the graphics, while a novel throwback to the mid 90s, wear thin quickly when the gameplay drones on and on with enemies swarming in unfair configurations, players being knocked down into helplessness with no chance to fight back, and the underutilized "arrest" mechanic that seems absolutely pointless. The janky, awful animation doesn't help. Team 17 should be ashamed of publishing this trainwreck of a game. I'd recommend 99Vidas, a game I already consider paltry, or of course SOR4 over this dumpster fire. Many games in the OpenBOR community have better play control than this, even.

Um misto de nostalgia com raiva dos tempos de controle travado, é inegável que Raging justice é divertido e inegável que ele é travado como os games em que ele se baseia; o mundo arcade de antigamente tinha muitos erros de ser espancado por não ter visão do adversário ou simplismente por que você não sabe qual linha de visão esta.
E isso é ruim?? Não, até que é bom relembrar as formas antigas de games e esse consegue resgatar isso.

E podendo jogar cooperativo local, a coisa tende a ser mil vezes melhor né
Convenhamos que nada mais agradável que jogar em casa com alguém que esta visitando ou familiar? é algo que ainda é receita para boas risadas.

Raging justice tem uma leve história de pano de fundo, onde uma cidade corrupta e inescrupulosa esta tomada pelo caos e desordem, cabe a algum dos nossos 3 policiais enfrenta tudo na base da porrada, ou atropelando inimigos com nosso cortador de grama.

De diferente das jornadas beat'up temos os empurrão onde serve como nossa defesa, e quando vemos inimigos atordoados podemos prende-los e assim ganhar recompensa de vida.
A sensação que temos que tudo é muito simples para ficar na vibe de anos 90, mais acredito que falto uma boa árvore de upgrades ou skins para os personagens, fica chato juntarmos moeda na campanha e não termos onde gastar.

Com a proximidade de mais uma promoção de inverno para nós brasileiros, é um game simples e divertido que rende boas horas de jogatina, e se tem irmãos, primos ou visita de amigos; é aquele tipo de jogo bom para se ter instalado e zerarem enquanto esperam o lanche chegar.

Esta bueno, tiene un ritmo frenético, una historia básica (excuse plot, que le dicen) y un aspecto gráfico es bastante peculiar aunque agradable (los escenarios y los enemigos están super desproporcionados pero lo entendí como parte de la estética) Incorpora algunas mecánicas únicas, que si bien son útiles, no acaban de cuajar del todo, como lo de los arrestos (mil veces terminé agarrando un arma en vez de arrestar a alguien, encima hay armas por todas partes, demasiadas.) Lo recomiendo pero ahora que lo terminé es improbable que lo vuelva a tocar de nuevo, es bueno pero no taaan bueno.

Raging Justice is not a bad beat ‘em up game but could have definitely been better with a little bit more effort put into it. I have found quite a lot of pros there - dynamic neverending action, satisfactory effect of weapons, partially interactive environment, solid variety of enemies including bosses, balanced difficulty, responsive controls and solid graphics and sounds. But I have also found many cons there - that everyone is going after you at the same time logic which almost does not give you a chance to think through your attacks, slowness of your character, strange hitboxes sometimes, absence of any character development or something else that would enhance the gameplay and generic music. Is Raging Justice suitable for family playing? Well, it contains local multiplayer (which is another plus by the way), the stages are short and the gameplay is dynamic enough so the answer is yes.

Not really sure why there is so many negative reviews.
It's a indie beat'em up with a retro vibe! Raging justice is hella similar to Final fight but managed to make it slightly better.
The only con that I have with this game is that the arrest gimmick should be more dynamic like: Being able to arrest enemies while they are on the ground.
Also there is times that the game throws at you tons of enemies to deal with that can knock you and stun, so this means that you can take a couple of hits while on the ground for no reason even if you commited a small mistake or keep getting stunned by the ladies over and over again. This game should have a move to break the enemy animations and add a invicible frame to a special attack similar to what Fight'n rage does.
I'll rate this a 6/10. Hella fun to play and if you are into beat'em ups you'll have a good time with this one.

The art work and rendering of chars is not bad but game is unevolved and cheap AF game mech. if this consept was switched up a bit, Move fluidity improved (maybe splash out on a few more frames for 2 button moves) and vertical scrolling transition was made a little better it could be good.

Videojuego Beat'em up, muy de estilo Retro Arcade pero con gráficos de última generación; excelentes para dicho juego. Mecánicas con muy pequeños detalles, pero nada que empañe la jugabilidad.
Historia de limpia-gangsters; eliges entre tres personajes distintos, tanto en fuerza, agilidad y jugabilidad.
Es bastante corto son unas 9 fases aprox. de unas 2 a dos y media horas. Suficiente para entretener y no ser repetitivo.
La esencia de éste título es que lo puedes jugar con un compañero u amigo, flipas en colores si lo completas con otro jgador.
Está a muy buen precio, y con descuentos, no puedes dejarlo pasar. Vale la pena 100%.

- Sluggish controls.

- Uninspired character designs.
- Uninspired backgrounds.

Nie jest to gra na poziomie Street of Range 4, ale nie oznacza to, że wieje w niej nudą. Postacie wydają się dość toporne ale z czasem idzie się do tego przyzwyczaić, zwłaszcza że wachlarz ciosów jest dość przyzwoity. Niewątpliwą zaletą gry jest tryb aresztowania, który pozwala dość szybko wyeliminować przeciwnika z rozgrywki. Graficznie gra prezentuje się przyzwoicie - czuć powiew lat 80-tych. Muzycznie też jest dość ciekawie. Jeżeli gra jest w promocji to można brać śmiało.

Another Streets of Rage wannabe that totally misses the mark. Sloppy controls. Cheap enemies. The usual things that make you not even want to finish a game. A lot of times you will try to use the arrest mechanic but get attacked while doing it making it not even wroth the risk most of the time. Enemies throwing objects at you non stop. Sometime you get knocked down and hit as soon as you get up knocking you down again ad nauseam. The female enemies have a taser which can hit you far beyond it's animation. Vertical and horizontally. So what starts off as a little fun ends up feeling like trash by the time you get to the later stages.

An awful beat'em'up, that could have worked as a simple arcade game, but ultimately doesn't

I had a bit of fun playing it, and learning the ropes in the first couiple levels. With a bit more application they could have made this an enjoyable arcade game, even if it is way too janky to ever reaching the category of good beat'em ups.
First the base price is too high for what it has to offer. Don't pay more than 4$ for this. Preferably less.

This game looks like the game that Team 17 always dreamed of releasing in the early 90s but couldn't because the Amiga was not powerful enough.
The graphics are very nice, the stylized pre-rendered 3D style is weird but I like it. I can see that some players won't like it though.
The gameplay is what you'd expect from a clone of final fight, with one added mechanism : the arrest. You can arrrest the thugs and it gives you a bit of life. In fact this is going to be the main mechanism in the game and the only way to progress further is to learn how to stun and arrest a lot of enemies.
The collisions are a very imprecise. The enemies are constantly stun locking you, and surounding you with too many enemies seems to be the main theme in the level design.
When it's not the enemies stunlocking you it's your own character with the bad placement or the stupid animations that almost never do what you intended to.
The gameplay is awful and the more you play the game, the more you'll hate it. That said , you can probably finish it if you are a masochist and put your heart to it and there are a lot of achievements to get, if you're this type of "people".
But the accumulation of repeating enemies toward the end becomes really stupid.

Exelente juego, no me quedo, es una mezcla de graficos actuales y los retro, esos movimientos roboticos es literalmente como en street fight como se llama ese juego de nintendo
es muy exelente, hasta un jefe gay epico tiene
parece sensillo, pero jugarlo en el mas dificil, es todo un reto... lastima q no tiene para jugar online, pero solo, igual la pasas bien, es un reto, yo, q me crie con este tipo de juegos, lo recomiendo al 100%
un juego que paso sin pena ni gloria, en una epoca donde todos quieren mejores graficos
a diferencia del street of rage 4, ese vendio mas solo x el nombre que lleva, pero el juego le hace honor a su saga
este es un juego nuevo q a la generacion de cristal no le gusto

I was a bit skeptical buying this game for the price they were asking,
but after playing it out I can say it was well worth it. At the base level,
it is your standard Beat Em' Up, 2D side scroller game. But like old school
Beat Em' Ups, that was the appeal. The one thing that popped out to me
is the art style of the game. I have tried many Beat Em' Ups on steam and a lot of them
couldn't quite capture the arcade art style. This game does it perfectly. If you had told me
this game was created in 1992, I would have believed you. This game also has a ton of
replay value. They have a Brawl Mode where you have to defeat waves of enemies.
There are 4 different difficulties to beat the game with and 3 playable characters. If you enjoy beating up 2D enemies
and throwing knives and baseball bats at them, pick this one up!

Mais uma decepção comprada.
Por ser apaixonado por jogos no estilo Beat 'em up, esperava mais... Muito mais.
Gráficos razoáveis, e jogabilidade péssima.
Os controles são duros e travados fazendo parecer que o jogo foi desenvolvido em flash, muito parecido com as animações que gostávamos de assistir em 2000 acessando o Mundo Canibal e Humortadela.
Assisti aos gameplays antes de comprar e mesmo assim me enganei com o game.
Chega a ser triste imaginar que gastei com o jogo.
Seria melhor ter comprado o jogo do Pelé.

This Beat em' Up is great! I recommend to use a lot the dash to control the crowds of enemies. The dash should be your main move.

Raging Justice es un juego programado por ex-empleados de Rare, por lo tanto una pequeña fracción de aquella compañía que se destruyó en mil pedazos estaremos disfrutando en este juego, esperando y deseando que ojalá cada uno de esos fragmentos pueda fortalecerse por separado para que algún día, quién sabe, puedan volver a unirse y convertirse en ese todo que tanto extrañamos.

Aunque el género del Beat´em Up dé la impresión de estar sobre-explotado y que ya está todo dicho, siempre habrán quienes logren reinterpretar aquellas ideas viejas y sacarlas adelante con aportes propios, aunque muchos podrán comparar este juego con Double Dragon o Final Fight, la verdad es que Raging Justice bebe directamente de las fuentes de Vendetta y P.O.W., ambos de arcade. y complementándolo con unos gráficos renderizados que junto con aquella animación acartonada del primer Killer Instinct nos da la sensación de que estamos ante un juego 100% noventero y 100% Rare.

Lamentablemente y a juzgar por los antecedentes de que este juego fué hecho por un equipo pequeño que encima lo programó en su tiempo libre, no va a destacar por su pulcritud debido a que la variedad de enemigos resulta algo escasa, por lo que no es de extrañarnos que durante el juego estés enfrentando a 5 personajes repetidos simultáneamente, esa problemática de la variedad que se viene arrastrando desde el primer Double Dragon había sido resuelto con un simple cambio en la vestimenta de los enemigos, aquí ni a eso atinaron.
Sobre los protas, pues tampoco se esforzaron en haberlos dotado de un carisma que los haga recordables, por ende nos vamos a olvidar de ellos apenas completemos el juego y saquemos todos los logros (y eso si es que vamos a llegar tan lejos, pues la mayoría de ellos se obtienen terminando el juego cumpliendo ciertos requisitos).
Aunque debo decir que jugablemente se siente un poco más satisfactorio que Fighting Rage ya que los valores de los golpes se perciben más contundentes, algo que también ayuda bastante es que los personajes están perfectamente proporcionados y eso le aumenta el realismo.
El control de los personajes se nota que fué algo bastante estudiado, pues está pensado para que lo juegues de la forma minimalista usando los 4 botones de enfrente (golpe, patada, salto y agarre) o complicándote un poco más usando los botones índices para hacer movimientos que perfectamente puedes reemplazar por movimientos combinados de la cruceta (taclear derecha e izquierda y movimiento especial) y todo esto sin necesidad de ir a la pantalla de configuración.
El sistema de agarres es algo que podría ser discutible, personalmente prefiero el de Final Fight por ser más simple, mientras que aquí lo haces con un botón de agarre y con el que puedes combinar patadas y golpes o simplemente lanzarlos lejos.
Sobre el tema de las armas, pues aquí hicieron una fiesta con ellas, en todo momento tendrás disponibles martillos, bates, cuchillos, caimanes, dinamita, escopetas, cajas, bocatomas de agua, etc, una idea que me pareció estupenda y que no recuerdo haber visto antes es el poder montar vehículos (como tractores o carros de golf) para atropellar a tus enemigos, aunque este uso es bastante limitado.

Una cosa que se le podría criticar a este tipo de juegos está en la monotonía misma y en la nula variedad de las misiones, en épocas pasadas hubieron quienes metían escenas de Bonus destruyendo vehículos o vidrios gruesos, otros que metían escenas de 2D o incluso plataformeo pero manteniendo la jugabilidad, otros metían escenas donde manejabas vehículos en tercera persona, y hubieron quienes metían escenas arriba de un tren o en la parte trasera de un camíón, pues aquí te puedes olvidar de eso, pues en los 10 escenarios con los que cuenta todos tratan de lo mismo, una lástima.

Aún así el juego merece la pena, posee cooperativo de tres jugadores en local o en línea, tabla de calificaciones online, modo de desafío, caminos alternativos, y aunque la historia tampoco tiene nada del otro mundo, posee un pequeño plot-twist cuando llegamos con el jefe final, y una vez terminado el juego hay una pequeña [spoiler]promesa de una secuela.[/spoiler]

Sin ninguna duda recomendado.

Not the best :( completed the game in 1.20 mins in 2 player Co-Op which was a bonus as i just wanted it to end.
only get if you love Co-Op and the genre, and it's less than £3 for that price its OK

It doesn't take long to realise something is not quite right about Raging Justice. Upon loading up the game you are greeted by a title screen where our heroes and heroines all strike macho poses- so far so good. But....and I can't believe I'm typing this....where's the gruff voiced dude, who sounds like he gargles with rusty tetanus infested nails, saying "Raaaaaaaaaaaaagingggggg Juusssssticcccccce" with such intensity you'll be left in no doubt as to how RAGING this JUSTICE is gonna be, as one of them powerfully punches the games logo onto the screen?

They just pop up with barely a polite hello and some words appear, and from these words one comes to the conclusion that the game is called Raging Justice. As first impressions go it's a bit lame, but at least it's an accurate representation of the levels of pizazz the game brings to the scrolling beat em up genre. Which is to say very little.

It's in 3d, so you'd think that would lessen some of the issues games like this had in 2d. ♥♥♥♥ all frames of animation? That's a thing of the past...and, uh....the present too apparently, as characters aren't exactly silky smooth in their movement. Lack of attack moves that could have, once upon a time, been blamed on a lack of storage space or memory? (such as a console cart, or tiddly amount of ram) uh.....I really couldn't say why this has a dodge roll move, yet has no parries like Super Double Dragon even though it was 26 years old when this game was released.

Is avoiding being punched in the face, or kicked in the head or testicles, really such a bad thing? Is there some reason that a fundamentally large part of the combat of something like the Rocksteady Batman games should be ignored in a genre that's exactly the same gameplay but viewed from a fixed perspective? It really seems like it ought to be a staple mechanic by now, along with the dodge move, and the two should serve different functions. But nope...no parrying here.

Graphically it's a case of the emperors new clothes: it looks a bit nicer than most 2d beat em ups, but underneath those clothes its still wrinkly and shrivelled 30 year old gameplay. Sonically they miss a trick too, as the sound effects don't really sell the brutality of blows, or smashing someone in the head with a baseball bat (not that I personally know what that last one sounds like).

Without the cathartic ultra violence of something like Batman Returns, the crunching of face into lamppost, or heads shoved into windows and bounced off park benches, it's just "walk left and right, press a button, and if you're lucky the hit detection will decide you punched or kicked someone". And it doesn't really matter where you hit them either: I once brutally pummelled someones feet after knocking them to the floor, and they died.

One of the ladies got punched in the baby baker, and died. Once that automatic animation kicks in you can be hitting them in some odd places.....If you ever wanted to kill someone by punching them to death in the butt then this is the game for you

I did have a modicum of fun bashing hoodlums in with everything but the kitchen sink: fire hydrants, baseball bats, bottles, knives, hammers, traffic cones.....it's got a lot of weapon variety. The move set is passable, and it is responsive, so technically it just makes the grade.

But I quit playing when I got to a boss who looked like Andre The Giant, and was supposed to be a pimp, but came over as some weird cross between a matador and a pimp dressed in ugly garish purple clothes. As this boss constantly zipped out of range of every attack, and never gave me a chance to hit them, FOR 5 SOLID MINUTES....I got a tad pissed off with the game. Another glitch? or just ♥♥♥♥ design? and who the ♥♥♥♥ cares anyway when the game is this mediocre?

As scrolling beat em ups go its alright. Scruffy and unpolished, but also simple and fun violence. As a genre though I personally find it far less compelling than I used to, and there are many examples of fighting combat taken to another level that are evolutions of this format. The Batman Arkham games, or Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Furi etc offer the same mechanics, but in a fully fleshed out environment that utilises the space for extra elements - such as platforming / exploration / puzzle solving.

If you just want to play for a few minutes and mindlessly duff up some neer'do'wells then this will cut the mustard, but overall I find the genre a bit tired now and this is not a game even attempting to rejuvenate it. Nor does it have the slick execution to gloss over its stunted gameplay. I'd recommend Double Dragon Neon, or the Capcom Beat Em Up Collection, over it if you absolutely want a scrolling beat em up.

Yet another one of those cheap and ugly beat 'em ups you shouldn't really care about. But let's start with the good stuff. First of all – this game actually works. Sounds like an obvious thing, but nowadays? In [b]Steam[/b]? That's actually a thing to mention. Too many cheap games here were made just for quick money and, as we all know, very often such products don't even work properly. [b]Raging Justice[/b] does. It won't crash on you or something like that. You want to finish it? You'll be able to. The problem is... most likely you won't want to. Even though this game? It does come with a couple of unique features.

In [b]Raging Justice[/b] you play as a wannabe cop (there are three generic characters to choose from). Which isn't really a big surprise, since we're often playing as cops in this kind of games. What's interesting here is that we can actually arrest people. In a way that reminds me a little bit of [b]RoboCop 2[/b] from the [b]NES[/b] (weird comparison, I know, but still).You stun the enemy – you can arrest him, or her for better score. And there are also challenges. Every level has a series of optional objectives you can complete. Finish the level in certain time, arrest a certain number of enemies, etc. Finally, you can achieve bad or good cop status by approaching the enemies in a certain way. Again, all for the better score. And that's the thing about unique features in [b]Raging Justice[/b]. Technically, they're here. And technically, they're pretty interesting. But the thing is - they just can't change your opinion. Because those are all about score and if you don't like the core gameplay? You just won't care about them. Like... at all.

And the core gameplay? Let's just say it's far from being good. And not only because the game looks ugly. I mean, it sure does and it ruins the mood quite a lot. Instead of being stylish, [b]Raging Justice[/b] just looks... unpleasant. But the real problem is – everything here feels wrong. It's a bit too slow, the moves take a bit too long to perform, balance is all over the place, the weapons often feel useless, etc, etc, etc. It's nothing big, but when you combine all those little things? You get a pretty unpleasant result.

Sure, nowadays we don't get new beat 'em ups often. It's one of those “extincted” genres. So, technically, new games of such kind are always welcomed. Unfortunately, [b]Raging Justice[/b] just doesn't worth it. Even though it costs only [b]£9.99[/b], the game just fails to satisfy. I mean, beat 'em up genre is all about – satisfaction. Feeding the baddies your strong fists should feel good. In this game? It doesn't. Should I say more?

Me perdoe mas os jogos beat em up dos anos 80 não tem essa animação de massinha de modelar mal feita assim não. Mesmo os clássicos 80's Double Dragon, Kunio Kun (Renegade), Final Fight, entre outros eram mais bem animados. Era só melhorar a animação e criar uma gama maior de inimigos e o jogo estava positivo. Assim tá feio demais. Enfim, o jogo com um pouco mais de dedicação poderia ter sido bom. Você clica para ver os créditos do jogos e aparecem uma série interminável de nomes, quando temos por aí jogos na engine BOR feitos por 1 pessoa com muito mais qualidade, porque fã é fã.

Very fun brawler. It has a weird aesthetic reminiscent of Final Fight that I get a good kick out of. Mechanically it feels a little janky but it gets the job done and you got a nice assortment of moves to beat up a bunch of different thugs and bosses as you rage for justice across various assorted stages.

What more can I say... go clean up those dirty streets.
