Really great game. Runs are quick yet challenging. UI is very clear and mechanics telegraph themselves pretty well. I'm still not good enough to tackle Hard mode yet, but the story is a nice reward from practicing Normal over and over.
As someone interested in game development, the dev notes that unlocks at the end of the main story is really nice to read through. The one about intuitive controls was something I haven't considered, but now appreciate thanks to that. I hope there will be more for when I dive into Extra mode.
I love rabbits and I also love this game. If you like rabbits and you like playing with other funny rabbits buy the game because this game is amazing. One of my favorite games of all time. I LOVE IT

Fantastic, excellent, superbly executed idea for a game. Cut right to the fun part of execution heavy games and made multiplayer. 10/10, grab any friends who can tolerate a little bullet hell and go play it.
Buy a copy and play it. Convince your friends.
ffxiv raiding but without PF (hell on earth)

I like this bnnuy yuri game it feels like FFXIV :)
If the phrase "MMO raiding" is giving you pause, try replacing that with "rhythm game". It's cute, it's difficult, and the OST slaps harder than forgetting to check the spin marker.
What starts out as a fun MMO style roguelike very quickly turns into a game about learning. Learning how to play your class, learning how to maximize dps with your class, learning how the different augments changes your skill cycle, learning how different items interacts with them, learning how to prioritize items, learning how to dodge enemy patterns, learning how to position yourself to avoid the *next* attack, learning how to dodge WHILE maximizing your dps, learning damage calculations to minmax a bad run... and doing that all at once. You don't quite realize it when you're going through the lower difficulties - the game is very forgiving as you go through the "tutorial difficulties," even Hard difficulty. The game is even structured like a tutorial: the starting area features one enemy from each area that showcases its mechanics, each area itself is a tutorial of the boss's mechanics, which in turn is a tutorial for the final boss.
It's a very fun curbstomp the more game knowledge you accrue, maybe eating 4 hits a fight and getting back up immediately after from the treasuresphere, a shop heal, or the regen potion you nabbed on the way in. Low DPS doesn't matter too much, patterns give you plenty of space to breathe, and going for silly unoptimal builds is a great way to spend 20 minutes. The more you mess around with the lower difficulties, the more the game turns into a stress free experience to just mess around without too much going on in your head as you play.
Enter lunar difficulty, where the game goes "okay. Show me you know what you've learned." RnS from that point turns into a game about game knowledge, execution, and locking the ♥♥♥♥ in. You have less HP for mistakes, with weaker heals to punish every tiny slip. Your item choices become critical to keeping your run alive. Mistakes in the shop will bite you in the ass later. The enemy patterns have, at most, two solutions. The enemies dart back and forth to make sure you miss your attacks as much as possible. Miss too many skills, and you've entered an enrage state which is near guaranteed to end your run.
I've had my ass kicked for over a hundred hours since starting lunar difficulty, and I've only just beaten it after getting a godrun - one of many which I've choked from slipping the balance of DPS and dodging. And every single loss has been a blast, because you KNOW how you messed up - greeding DPS over your own safety, being too careful and getting caught in enrange, maybe doing just fine but your concentration slips *just* right and you spiral straight from max HP to 0. The quick runs make for fast resets which rarely get old, as long as you have the mindset to keep learning and try again. Managing to push through, however, feels *incredible*. Beating a enemy for the first time feels awesome on its own. Getting through it with just a couple hits feels amazing, and then perfectly executing an area gives you a rush like nothing else. Getting that one godrun you've had your eye on for hours is a deeply rewarding experience, and scraping by with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ build is equally exhilarating. Only to slip up to the dumbest thing, laugh at your own mistakes, and run it back.
I do have one gripe with the game, and it's the RNG. As you're learning the game, the forced randomness is very nice for learning item interactions; sometimes a combo you think won't really affect much skyrockets your DPS into the stratosphere, or maybe you accidentally run into a near permanent invincibility build, or you simply find a way to completely disable your character in the funniest way possible. As you get more game knowledge, though, hunting for a viable build becomes more and more frustrating, and it nearly feels out of your control. Not that this is a must at all - the game is VERY well balanced to make sure a "just barely optimal" run will make it through enrage if you can rotate your skills properly. However, finding yourself *one* item or upgrade away from an otherwise incredible build is extremely frustrating, and given the sheer amount of possibilities, more often than not you'll be left with an underwhelming build that you're forced to continue with, wondering what could have been if your luck was just a bit better. While there are options in the mod workshop (extra ability augments taking place of the some potions, for example), I'd like to see some sort of option to control your run with a cost - maybe skipping loot can add additional options in the next treasuresphere, or being able to sacrifice a hefty chunk of money to reroll a shop.
With that out of the way, the variety of content this game has is honestly staggering, and makes each run feel unique even if every enemy has at most two attack patterns, many of which having only one with small variations. Two starting areas, eight main areas, and two final areas makes for a massive number of variations that keep you on your toes no matter the run. All 14 characters have 4x5 different skill augments that can be mixed and matched, on top of the gazillion items you'll be running into as the run progresses. AND THE GAME COMPLETELY CHANGES WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING MULTIPLAYER FOR EVEN MORE VARIATIONS THAT FORCE YOU TO RELEARN THE GAME AGAIN, COMPLETE WITH ENTIRELY NEW MECHANICS BUILT ON COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION?!
I can't recommend this game enough, for either casual players looking for a fun party game, dedicated groups who wanna take on the harder difficulties, or solo players like me who love the charm of the visuals, the fantastic soundtrack from steelplus, and the incredibly deep rabbit hole (heh) of mechanics that keep me coming back for more. Easiest $15 of your life.
I'm gonna cry

Most badass game I've ever played in my whole entire life.
great game 10/10
My friend group and I started playing it for fun, since it was on sale, and were very surprised by how good the game is. At first it can be chaotic, but once you start reading it becomes simpler XD
What I have enjoyed about the game so far:
- Music
- Character Kits
- Boss design
- A lot of Settings for enemy attacks etc. (helpful for me due to colourblindness)
- Fun Items to play around with
Dislikes:
I don't really have any dislikes as of now, I might update this once I have more hours, but for now no complaints
Will 100% keep playing so please keep working on this amazing game.
i love you tasha
this is the peak of video gaming
awesome
thanks to my friend for giving me a new addiction, bullet hells i dont play much, but this game really looks like genuine fun
yes
Amazing roguelike and I love the way the difficulty naturally scales with the more people in your party. My buddy showed me this and I loved it, then we put two of our other friends on and had a blast playing it. I will say some classes don't feel super balanced and have some mid upgrades, and the Red Darkhouse is 10x harder than the rest of the maps in the game for no reason, but this has never taken the fun away while playing. And the soundtrack is goated asf
This game is harder than Touhou
Do you know what happens to rabbits when they're lonely?
We go beat the hell out of them until they stop being so negative.
A fun roguelike, where you and your friends try to coordinate around raid mechanics without killing each other.
Despite that being the obvious appeal, single player runs are solid too.
Has a bunch of different classes, ability modifiers, and loot, so there's a lot of replay value. Or just more chance you'll find a class/build you enjoy.

The difficulty ceiling goes vertical after the crow but I enjoy that still. A lil too slow at the start but it does allow new players to learn each run.

From an enjoyer of bullet hell games (Touhou Project), Rabbit and Steel does a really good job at offering super fun and unique gameplay. I often find myself enjoying the story and music that the game offers. I also enjoy the roguelike elements of build customization and strategies for the different areas in the game. If you like bullet hell, I highly recommend this game.
Can confirm there is both: Rabbit AND Steel. The soundtrack also slaps
Awesome difficulty, feels fair and fun!
The extra DLC is so good!

Game is fun but broken in many ways and gameplay is very slow compared to most bullet hell games i mean its cute and fun to a point but needs alot of work before they released it i think. 3/10 for me.

Don't make the same mistake i did and skip this game thinking it won't be balanced nor fun for solo play. It absolutely is. Top tier game, can't wait to see the next projet from the dev.

Awesome to play with your fellow FFXIV homies who also got bored of Dawntrail lmao
STEEL YOURSELF

i went into this expecting a cute fun little game. well, it is and it isnt. the buns are cute, but the progression is good and the bosses and mechanics are also good, i see why this game has the rating it does holy crap this game was an unexpected gem!

good

good bullet hell
This game fries my brain, yet I can't put it down.
Rabbit and Steel is a co-op bullet hell roguelike defined by its emulation of MMORPG raid mechanics. It is playable with 1-4 players; in singleplayer, more emphasis is placed on the bullet hell aspect, and you get to engage with the game's charming little story about a spell sending the kingdom's monster girls into disarray. However, you would be getting the most out of R&S by playing it with friends. In multiplayer, enemy attack patterns change and force each player to coordinate their movements with each other, lest they risk throwing each other or themselves in harm's way. At high-level co-op play, fights become dances, each player moving together with mesmerizing choreography.
The Brain-Frying
Rabbit and Steel offers 4 difficulty levels: Cute, Normal, Hard, and Lunar. I have not tried out Cute much, but I would say Normal is a comfortable starting point. It will be tough starting out, but with time you will learn attack patterns and how to leverage your resources into quicker and therefore safer runs. Once you master Normal, you move up to Hard. Hard will change up the attack patterns, often layering attacks on top of each other and increasing the mental load. It is important to not only recognize patterns but also process lots of visual information quickly and act accordingly. Hard also introduces an "enrage" timer: if you do not eliminate enemies fast enough, they will begin charging up an unavoidable attack that will constantly sap your health until either side goes down first. Lunar turns this up one more step by lowering the amount of hits you can take before going down. I'm not actually sure if Lunar adds anything else as, at the time of writing, I am getting walled by Hard.
As expected of a bullet hell, attacks are precise. Your hurtbox is a visible dot in the center of your character's sprite, meaning if you have fine movement, you can take risky positions and narrowly avoid danger. Attacks are also well-telegraphed. At times it may feel like the screen is filled with nonsense, but there is just enough time to process and move if you're somewhat familiar with the incoming attacks.
It is worth noting that, in multiplayer, enemy attacks can still focus on a KO'd player. In Cute and Normal, experienced players may be able to play around this and carry their team, but this is unlikely for Hard and Lunar; each player must pull their weight.
The Rabbits
As of the Extra Mode update on Feb. 6, 2026, there are 14 playable classes. 5 are available from the start, and the remaining 9 are unlocked by clearing the various areas on Hard difficulty or above, or simply defeating enough bosses. Each class is comprised of 4 abilities that generally follow the below trends:

Primary and Secondary abilities are your workhorse buttons that you use when everything else is on cooldown.

Special abilities are the heavy hitters. You want to use these whenever you can.

Defensive abilities give you brief invulnerability. You can save these for whenever you're in danger, but they often provide other helpful effects, rewarding players who can weave them in between abilities and avoid attacks without relying on the invulnerability.
Each class is unique; they have different designs, cooldowns, playstyles, and preferred builds. This not only provides gameplay diversity but also helps avoid co-op friction as players will be less likely to want the same items as others if they're playing different classes.
The Steel
Throughout each run, you have opportunities to pick between 3-5 options of loot that either supplements or augments your abilities with various effects. In roguelike fashion, you unlock more of these by completing side tasks (or, like the classes, just playing the game long enough). There are enough items such that each loot opportunity has something for everyone, and the effects balance strength and uptime well. In multiplayer, you all pick loot together. Only one player may receive a given loot item, and the game randomly decides who gets it if multiple players want the same thing, forcing the "losers" to pick again.
You also acquire gold with each successful fight in a run, and you can use that gold within the run at shops which feature temporary potions and ability augments (plus a shopkeep you can headpat!). Shop stock is per-player; no need to compete with your friends on who gets what here. Effects from shop items tend not to be as flashy as loot effects, but they're still interestingly strong. They offer players chances to experiment with their builds or receive a quick boost to help them clear the next area.
Final Verdict
Rabbit and Steel, quite simply, is a lot of fun. It balances random loot and skill expression in an engaging, adorable package without all the logistics of actually playing a MMORPG and getting a raid group together. That said, bullet hells and roguelikes are known for being tough as nails until you lose enough times to get the hang of things, so I would recommend the game at full price for friend groups or bullet hell fans, and at discount for solo players or those unfamiliar with the genre.

This game is insanely good. It's more fun with friends, but even just one friend is enough to make the game really shine. You can probably tell from looking at it where the inspiration came from, but this game is so much more than the sum of its parts.
NB: The emphasis is less on bullet hell-style micrododging and more on the FFXIV-style raid mechanics. That being said, I'm a bullet hell person and not an MMO person, and I still think this game is amazing, great fun, and very unique.
