Si te interesa este juego es porque te gusta Medievil, los juegos de plataformas 3D o simplemente te gustó el diseño del personaje principal, yo caigo en cada una de esas categorías y tengo que admitir que no es el plataformero más técnico ni especial, en realidad es bastante básico, puedes notar los huesos de algo que podría ser más especial, pero por lo que es, es un simple y corto juego donde lo que más resalta es su estilo artístico.

Всё отлично! Добротный слешер-платформер на несколько часов. Чем-то по стилистике напоминает lost in random. Харизматичный главный герой, атмосферная хеллоуинская музыка, юморные персонажи и диалоги, шутки с ломанием 4 стены. Также видно что продумывали боевые и игровые механики весьма ответственно. Особенно хорошо сделан level-дизайн: прохождение линейное с небольшими ответвлениями. Возрождения либо на контрольных точках, либо прямо перед проваленным испытанием, в том числе и во время платформинга. То есть разраб хорошо подумал, чтО будет интересно, а какие сегменты можно скипнуть и не тратить время игрока на пустое хождение и беготню. Этого подхода без духоты мне очень не хватало в Silksong, а здесь реализовали прям хорошо)) На Pumpkin Jack совсем не жалко денег и времени. Респект!

Pumpkin Jack, no geral, é um jogo feito para crianças. Tudo é muito simples, fácil e linear. Os diálogos chegam a ser bem bobinhos até (vou fazer uma ressalva quanto às referências: nisso o jogo está cheio, mandaram bem kkkk).
Quanto à lore de Halloween, junto da trilha sonora, esses são os pontos-chaves dentro do jogo. É uma boa pedida para quem não tem mais nada para jogar no Dia das Bruxas.
O jogo é bem curto, então, se você não gostou muito dele, assim como eu, fique tranquilo: leva em torno de 4 a 5 horas para zerar, e em menos de 10 horas vem a platina. Dito isso, não vale o preço cheio pela falta (escassez) de conteúdo que ele oferece. Espere uma boa promoção, algo em torno de 90%. Foi o que eu fiz, já que não vale mais que uns 10 reais.
Enfim, fica aqui minha review. Não irei negativar o jogo por questão de gosto pessoal, até porque é um jogo infantil, voltado para crianças, e eu claramente faço parte do público-alvo errado. Pode não ter me agradado, mas para você pode ser uma experiência oposta.

menudo goofy ahh game, parece un juego para niños d 5 años. es super fácil, te puedes saltar prácticamente todos los enemigos y rusheartelo, los boses son todos iguales con una skin diferente, mismas mecánicas todo el rato con los mismos puzzles. la música es una mierda tmb y que el juego no dure ni 4 horas dice mucho.

It was alright at best. the writing is a bit corny but I think its a bit charming lol. The last stage difficulty jumped a lot, the minigame and the boss are absurdly hard compared to the rest. Given the original price, its eh? Just buy the game during its discount. Although Im looking forward for their upcoming game Far Far West, they clearly took some inspirations from this game.

я рекомендую эту игру!
сюжет в игре интересный, много отсылок и шуток, по сюжету мы понимаем что зло всегда сильнее)
для хадкоршиков не рекомендую, так как игра чисто казуальная и не требует особо скилла, чисто под вечер расслабиться поиграть.
я советую играть на геймпаде если имееться, ибо игра как будто больше заточена под него, а вибро отлики погружают в процесс и больше кайфа от игровой сессии.
для перфекционистом и лудоманам достижении тоже зайдет, получаються вполне легко и быстро, проблемы могут возникнуть только с черепами и придётся перепроходить главы и вполне довольно быстро можно дособирать.
на счет темпа игры она спокойна, и не быстрая но в общем игру можно пройти за 5-6 часов если не замедляться, я лично не особо торопясь прошел за 7 часов и дособирал достижения еще за +1 час.

Сюжет здесь довольно забавный и ироничный и мы играем за духа Тыквенного Джека, которого сам Дьявол отправляет в мир людей, чтобы прикончить великого Волшебника и помешать силам Добра восстановить порядок. Это крутой перевертыш, где нам в роли «плохого парня» нужно пробираться к этому волшебнику с помощью Ворона и Совы что нам помогать будут всю дорогу, забавно взаимодействуя с протагонистом. Сэттинг игры это хэллоуинская сказка в духе работ Тима Бёртона и тут у нас и проклятые болота, и кладбища и заброшенные шахты, пропитанные атмосферой жуткого, но яркого приключения. Геймплей же радует своим темпом и разнообразием на протяжении всех шести уровней: на каждом этапе нам стабильно выдают новое оружие (от классической косы и говорящего меча до магии и огнестрела), что постоянно освежает боевку, а в перерывах между прыжками по платформам нас развлекают разными минииграми, будь то безумные заезды на вагонетках или решение головоломок, где нужно управлять отдельной головой Джека. В конце уровней же лайтовенькие боссы со своими механиками. Визуал для инди-проекта, созданного практически одним человеком, выглядит сочно и стильно, а музыка с её характерными «костлявыми» мелодиями хорошо дополняет вайбовую картинку. В итоге это игра, которая оставляет после себя отличное послевкусие, при этом умудряясь превзойти любые ожидания, которых, честно говоря, изначально особо у меня и не было.

Идеальная игра, чтобы скоротать вечер. Если любишь олдскульные платформеры с душой и крутым арт-дизайном, то Джек это именно то, что нужно для поднятия настроения.

I absolutely LOVED playing Pumpkin Jack! I loved the little batter he had back and forth with characters in game. This game kept me wanting to play. I finished it! I enjoyed the boss fights. Plus, the fun minecart rides, the horse and the ship with the Merry man. I hope more games are made like this. It was not to long either and simply fun! Thank you for creating this game. I don't know where should I start to be honest. This game felt me something different that other games couldn't do despite, I was just playing a 3D platforming indie game. I never imagined I could enjoy about this game. I suprized that jokes were transleted perfectly to other languages.Graphics,gameplay,weapons and episode designs were wonderful. Sense of humor of this game was perfect I've never seen that much funny jokes in a indie game. Atmosphere also was very good maps, parkours all of them were very good. I'm sure this game made with love and interest.While I was playing I didn't feel like developer-player relation. I felt like I was playing my close-friend's made game. Jack's character design and expression was so good I felt how crazy and outspoken he is. I completed 100% of the achievements in this game. Just buy in the sale and play. Gametime is really enough,short gameplay duration could have made it feel cheap and effortless and also long one can start being boring and doing same thing again and again. I really liked this game. Thanks to the friend that made this game for us.

A short, simple and enjoyable 3D platformer that was clearly made with a lot of love - everything feels nice to play and pretty polished. None of the gameplay mechanics overstay their welcome and there's a bunch of new ones introduced throughout.

Yeah, every aspect of the game could be expanded upon, but for a solo developer the end result is very impressive.

As a special note, I was surprised that I never had to look up a guide for the collectibles - I found all of them on my first run (except for the first level but I wasn't looking for them then). They're all put in pretty obvious "this is where I would hide this if I was hiding a collectible" places which makes them fun to collect.

Ahhh, I love me some retro 2000s platformer! Everything — from character design to gameplay, music, and controls — oozes nostalgia. The structure is simple: a handful of themed levels, each featuring a few collectibles, a minigame à la Banjo-Kazooie, a minecart-style section à la DK64, and a boss at the end.

Progression is very linear — this is NOT a collectathon, you just need to reach the end of the level. Jack feels a bit "floaty", much like many mascot platformers from the early 2000s (more Banjo or Spyro than Mario).

The humor works well, although the overall imagery leans a bit too heavily on Tim Burton’s [i]The Nightmare Before Christmas[/i] — down to even having a fight against [spoiler]Santa Claus in Christmas Town[/spoiler]. That inspiration shows up in the music too: a somewhat unoriginal (though admittedly charming) mix between Danny Elfman and Grant Kirkhope, just without the same unforgettable catchiness.

A few additional notes: combat is not great but manageable; at the end of every “chapter” (aka level) you get a narrated recap of what you just played, which feels a bit redundant; collectibles are completely optional and mostly unlock costumes and achievements.

Still, considering this appears to be largely the work of a solo developer, the game deserves a lot of praise.

This might look like a silly, over-saturated, Halloween-type game. And it is. It even throws in some Christmas, because why not. But it doesn't take itself seriously and the results can be quite funny. Most importantly, it's plain fun.

[i]Pumpkin Jack[/i] is a short, linear, and easy 3D platformer. There's combat, but it's mostly about mashing buttons. The bosses introduce some interesting mechanics, but again they are quite easy. Only the last boss gave me a bit of a challenge. The most fun I had were in the mini-games, some of which are puzzles and some of which are wacky races. I wish there were more puzzles! I wish there was more of the game in general! But I had a good time with what we got.

The presentation is decent but the color palette is a bit much. It's very nice that this game supports HDR, but note that it is broken for the default DirectX 12 implementation. You [i]must[/i] start the game in DirectX 11 mode for HDR to work correctly. I played half the game thinking that the awful colors were just bad design. Dear dev: You [i]have to[/i] fix this. You also should disable the HDR toggle for when the operating system is not in HDR mode, because I'm sure many gamers will just turn it on without understanding what is required.

All in all, I'm glad this exists and I'm glad I played it. Cheers!

It's not the best game in the world, but I would give it a thumbs up, since it doesn't do much wrong. But you could also argue that it doesn't do that much at all.
It has only 6 Levels and the level mechanics tend to repeat themselves. A few new things here and there, but the formula stays the same. The boss fights are kinda the highlight, but you can say the same thing about the boss mechanics. The level designs do look nice though. There is some sort of difficult curve, but it never got really difficult.
Controls are good enough most of the time and the only bug I did encounter was that the game didn't stay at fullscreen in the beginning, but that didn't happen again after some time.
Would recommend it at a discount.

PS: The game seems well suited for speedrunners.

A fun, albeit quite short Halloween indie platformer with a really nice visual style that hearkens back to old PS2/PS3 platformers. The gameplay loop is incredibly simple, boiling down to basic Skylanders-esque hack-and-slash, but it undoubtedly pulls off that formula well. I didn't ever find myself losing interest in the game until I had already done everything there was to do. Bosses are generally pretty well designed and varied, never being too easy but also having well-designed attacks with predictable/learnable tells. I appreciate that the weapons you unlock throughout the length of the game are balanced well enough that you can almost use any one of them you like best without being too disadvantaged. The game never felt particularly "difficult," with me maybe dying 2-3 times throughout my entire first playthrough; If you crave gameplay that challenges you or makes you think tactically, the game [i]may[/i] get monotonous after a while.

Post-game content is the pretty standard collect-a-thon stuff you'd expect in a 3D platformer of this type. It's not a very long game, especially at its price range, with me getting every achievement in a little over 7 hours (and that's with me taking my sweet time). I do notice complaints about performance, but I can't really add anything to that discussion since the game ran well for me with no issues. The story's nothing to write home about, but it is always fun to turn the tables on typical character formula and be forced to play as a bad guy on a mission to wipe out the good in the world.

I think Pumpkin Jack is a really good, polished platformer that I find suitable for just about any gamer that doesn't despise platformers. If you like Crash Bandicoot or Skylanders, this'll be your cup of tea from a gameplay angle. It strikes a satisfying balance of not being too hard, making it a good choice for kids and less experienced gamers, while remaining just complex and varied enough to not be an absolute slog for more seasoned gamers like myself. $30 USD is a pretty ludicrous price for what you get, so I can't in my right mind say it's worth that amount of money, but the game frequently goes on deep discounts (I got it 80% off on a sale a while back) and it's such a solid game I absolutely think you should keep your eye on it, it's a pretty slept-on gem. I will add that the game gets going pretty early, so either way you'll certainly know within the first two hours of gameplay if you just don't like the game and need to refund it.

Support indie developers. Looking forward to Evil Raptor's multiplayer western shooter that'll go into early access this year.

Геймплей простенький и линейный, каждого босса прошел с 1й или 2й попытки. Только на последнего потратил 4. А так разнообразие оружия (хоть оно по сути и наносит одинаковый урон) понравилось.
Единственный сегмент который в особенности мне не понравился - это сегмент с лесом когда искал ведьму. Мало того что нужно на ОЩУПЬ нужно смотреть каждый путь на развилке и если пойдешь по неправильному - смерть. Так еще и когда я дошел до полпути меня после смерти спавнило с персонажем повернутым в сторону откуда я пришел (я это понял уже после того как вернулся в начало "лабиринта")

Oh, Pumpkin Jack. An indie love-letter to the platforming action games of yore. It strikes an interesting balance of high quality assets and level design, with janky movement and frustrating combat. Aesthetically it is beautiful, and the writing is fine enough, if a little childish. The main issues on display are a very floaty jump with no recovery options (though the shotgun allows you to cancel your air momentum), enemies not having any hit-stun, and you having no i-frames. If two AoE attacks are in one spot, you will take double damage. The fire-spreading mechanic of breaking candles is also one of the worst things in this game, which actively encourages you to break your surroundings for health, while simultaneously punishing you with floor hazards that do not leave, and can cover entire platforms you must pass--and they are EVERYWHERE.

Massive highlights of the game are the soundtrack--all absolute bangers, especially the classical remixes--and the ability to 100% the game's achievements in a single run. This requires you to be on the lookout for the hidden skulls and gramophones, but they are all in logical hidden places, and I had no problem finding them all on my own. Not sure why the gramophones are a thing, as they don't unlock music to listen to later or something, but the crow skulls are used to purchase (rather underwhelming) skins from the merchant (or main menu).

On one strange note, the final merchant of the game is placed before you collect the final crow skulls, and there is no way to backtrack, meaning the final skin can only be bought after you finish the game, from the main menu. Very odd design choice. However, all in all, I enjoyed the game despite the jank and some of the terrible mini-games (like the 'portal fall'), and I'm glad I played it. Good job, dev! I hope one day you can return to this world and create something even better.

Вообще, этого обзора не должно было существовать. У меня раньше имелась GTS 250 (а игра естественно не тянула), но вот, я обновился до GT 1030 и решил что надо бы сдать игру обратно (в то время не думал что она будет тянуть), но на всякий пожарный решил попробывать под предлогом "А вдруг запуститься...." Так прошли замечательные сессии длиной в 1 час.
Итак МИНУСЫ:
1) если вы за всю не научитесь уворачиваться, вам не понравится боёвка
2) Конкретно мне не понравились моменты перелёта в портале (оч сложна)
ПЛЮСЫ:
1) Интересные карты
2) Прикольные коллектаблс (вороньи черепа) и ГРАММОФОНЫ))
3) Неплохой саундтрек
4) Интересные боссы
5) В титрах видно как разрабатывалась игра

Its fine. I've seen it compared to medievil and that is an apt comparison. The vibes of a decently fun mid tier 3dplatformer are here, you got the basic combat, the mandatory cart riding section, and every character has that lighthearted charm you remember from those old platformers in the late 90's. The problem with this game stems from its jumping. Its borderline akin to the first castlevania, where if you push a direction while jumping, thats the direction your jump arc will be in. There are small adjustments that can be made, but on the whole, if you hold left when you press jump, youre going to hard commit to jumping left. That makes it feel floaty and a bit less responsive than your traditional modern platformer. There will be very few reactionary jumps, only planned, intentional ones. Also, combat feels a bit disconnected, as the game overdoes visual effects in combat. Enemies flash when you hit them, the screen shakes whenever you press the attack button, there isnt much in the way of hitstun to jack hisself, and every enemy seems to get automatic super armor after 2 hits of your 3 hit combo, so its pretty easy to think youre mowing enemies down when really youre a hit away from death.
I can recommend it because it can be found for dirt cheap, the vibes are there, and the gameplay is serviceable. Its a time filler if you love short, simple, easy to beat games. Nothing blowaway or standout, but perfectly fine, with obvious flaws in design.

I played Evil Raptor's other game "Akimbot" and loved it so I decided to check out their other work and saw this game on sale for $3, so I decided to buy it.

This game is great. The fact that only 1 person made it is really impressive. It plays like a early PS2 platformer and it controls really well. The platforming is great, the music is great and the quality of the graphics and art are superb. The only thing I think is subpar is the melee combat but it does the job alright.

It is not perfect though. The performance is a little rough on my Rog Ally Z1 extreme but my 9900k/3080ti plays it just fine at 4k. It is easily playable on the Ally, just takes more TDP power than I feel a game like this should need if it was better optimized. Cross saves made it a breeze switching between the two.

One of the better indie games I have played. Another gem from this great indie studio and I will be keeping a eye when they release "Far Far West". These devs are really talented and deserve your money for this great game and their others.

Mentre le grandi software house AAA ci propinano giochi da 80 euro pieni di bug, microtransazioni e open world vuoti come il deserto del Gobi, questo sviluppatore solitario ha tirato fuori dal cilindro un capolavoro di design, atmosfera e gameplay.

Se siete cresciuti a pane, PlayStation 2, MediEvil e Jak & Daxter, fermatevi qui e compratelo. Siete appena tornati a casa.

[h1] L'ATMOSFERA: TIM BURTON CHE INCONTRA L'HEAVY METAL [/h1]

Siamo stanchi di interpretare il cavaliere senza macchia e senza paura. Qui si gioca per la fazione giusta: i cattivi.

Voi siete Jack, il mitico Signore delle Zucche, un truffatore evocato direttamente dal Diavolo per scendere sulla Terra e annientare la noiosissima umanità e il suo insopportabile "Campione" della luce.

Esteticamente, il gioco è un trionfo assoluto. Immaginate un film in stop-motion di Tim Burton pompato con l'Unreal Engine e condito da una colonna sonora orchestrale pazzesca che non stonerebbe in un castello infestato della Transilvania. I colori sono vibranti, i livelli macabri ma cartooneschi, e il carisma del protagonista trasuda da ogni animazione.

[h1] GAMEPLAY FLUIDO COME L'OLIO (E ZERO BRODO ALLUNGATO) [/h1]

Uno dei più grandi difetti dei platform 3D nostalgici è che spesso ereditano anche i comandi di merda e la telecamera ubriaca degli anni 2000. Pumpkin Jack no. Pad alla mano è di una fluidità disarmante.

Il Combattimento: È veloce, responsivo e dannatamente divertente. Si schiva, si attacca, e si concatenano combo. Ogni fine livello sblocca un'arma nuova (dalla classica falce a spade magiche, fino a un fucile), ognuna con il proprio moveset unico. Non è un souls-like frustrante, è puro hack 'n' slash ignorante e soddisfacente.

Niente Filler: Il gioco dura circa 5-6 ore. E sapete cosa? È un pregio enorme. Non ci sono missioni secondarie inutili, non ci sono torri da scalare per rivelare la mappa, non c'è crafting tedioso. È un'esperienza densa, lineare, senza un singolo fottuto secondo di tempo morto.

[h1] MINIGIOCHI E PUZZLE: USARE LA TESTA (LETTERALMENTE) [/h1]

Per spezzare il ritmo tra platforming e combattimento, il gioco vi lancia addosso sezioni incredibilmente varie e divertenti. Ci sono fughe a bordo di carrelli da miniera che vi faranno sudare freddo, corse a cavallo di cavalcature spettrali e momenti geniali in cui dovrete staccarvi letteralmente la zucca dal collo per infilarvi in cunicoli stretti e risolvere piccoli puzzle ambientali. Il level design non vi fa mai, e dico mai, annoiare.

[h1] CONCLUSIONE [/h1]

Pumpkin Jack è la dimostrazione palese che non servono budget multimilionari per creare un videogioco eccezionale. Serve passione, visione e la consapevolezza di cosa rende un gioco divertente.

È il titolo definitivo da giocare durante il periodo di Halloween, ma vale ogni singolo centesimo in qualsiasi giorno dell'anno. Spegnete il cervello, impugnate la falce e andate a fare il lavoro sporco per il Diavolo. Un gioiello indie imprescindibile.

Pumpkin Jack is a decent platformer that is definitely worth the price if you can get it on sale. The game isn't a bad time, but it is far from one of the best 3d platformers I've played. The controls are serviceable, the story is fun, and the minigames are probably the best part. My issues lie more in the fluff of the game. I 100%'d it, and I don't think that's the best way to approach this game. The levels aren't that long if you're just running through them and not hunting for collectables, bosses are fun on a first go around, minigames break up the flow, but the longer you engage the more the charm wears off. Overall I recommend the game on sale, and play through the game entirely before even considering if you want to collect everything.

The game is definitely worth a look and is worth a purchase even at full price (though the discount is very nice). The game has simple controls and pleasant, simple graphics, but most importantly, it has a spirit. It evokes nostalgic memories of stories and cartoons about Jack and all his various characters. For me, it brought back wonderful memories of the cartoon The Nightmare Before Christmas. I recommend playing it on Halloween or Christmas. Love the Halloween aesthetic, platforming is fun, the humour is great!
I just wish that we weren't an Evil Guy fighting other Evil monsters for most of the game. The whole "they're too dumb to tell we're on their side" is a bit weak, when we could just be fighting the traditional Good beings.
I was expecting a game where we could finally be true EVIL and be fighting Elves, Fairies, Unicorns, all that goodie good stuff.

A fun, if fairly short, spooky scary 3D platformer. 6 levels overall, with a surprising amount of variety to their design, both in terms of general vibes and the actual platforming. The minigames and 'headless' gameplay sections helped to break up the pace a bit, even if I think having to play both twice in every level becomes slightly repetitive.

While there is combat, I personally wouldn't say that it is in-depth enough to justify it being as prominent as it becomes throughout the levels. Outside of a dodge-roll, you only get a one button combo. Getting a new weapon each level is a nice touch, each with different move-sets. But as I mentioned, I never found myself challenged enough to want to swap weapons, outside of using the gun more because haha guns funeeeee.

Despite that, I enjoyed my time with the game and would recommend it to people looking for their 3D platformer fix, I'd recommend getting it on sale though. Plus, it's a pretty straightforward 100% if you're achievement hunting.

Ich habe ehrlicherweise nicht erwartet, dass mir ein so unscheinbares Spiel so viel Freude bescheren würde.
Ohne Erwartungen rein und ich habe mich jetzt schon in das Game verliebt. Der Titel Pumpkin Jack bietet eine unfassbar stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre. Die Level Designs glänzen nicht nur durch eine Varianz von spaßigen Boss kämpfen, sondern auch durch Jump N' Run, interaktive Minispiele und fantastische Musik.
Nicht nur das, sondern auch für die Erungenschaftsammler ist was dabei.

Klare Empfehlung :)
