Empfohlen, ABER!

Grundlegend ist das Game empfehlenswert. Es macht Spaß, auch wenn mir einige Sachen fehlen. ABER man sollte keinen Wert auf eine detaillierte geschweige den logische Darstellung eines Automobilwerkes legen.

Zum ABER!

Ich habe das Gefühl, dass die Entwickler nie ein Automobilwerk von innen gesehen haben. Die Reihenfolge, wie man ein Auto in dem Game zusammenklöppelt, macht null Sinn. Vor allem fehlt dadurch der Produktionskette einen der wichtigsten Produktionsschritte. Die Hochzeit.

Im Game ist die Produktionskette gänzlich linear und vom ersten bis zum letzten Schritt kann alles an einem einzigen langen Förderband erledigt werden. Alleine das ist schon unrealistisch.
Die Reihenfolge im Game ist:
Fahrgestell (Achsen, Kardanwelle, Fahrwerk, Tank), Karosse (Rohkarosse, Motorhaube, Kofferraumdeckel, Stoßstangen mit Sensoren, Bodenverkleidung, Kotflügel, Grill, Dach, Türen mit Elektronik, Scheiben, Außenspiegel), Lackiererei (Grundierung, Trocknung, Lackierung, Trocknung, Polieren), ... usw.
Normalerweise wird das Fahrgestell mit Getriebe, Motor usw. erst nach dem lackieren mit der Karosse verheiratet. Davon mal ab, was ist beim Karosseriebau falsch gelaufen? Was haben da Scheiben, Technik, Spiegel und der Grill zu suchen? Der Kram wird auch erst nach dem lackieren verbaut.

Dass man sowas in einem Game etwas vereinfacht umsetzt ist fein (zb kein KTL usw), aber man sollte es zumindest logisch halten.

Deshalb mein Fazit: Macht Spaß, aber man sollte nicht zu genau drüber nachdenken.

Tricky one to review. The underlying game is actually very good and the early-mid gameplay loop is excellent with upgrades to the equipment, research and so on. Where the game fails is in the mid-late part, the UI is too clunky to handle that much info on the screen, upgrades require effectively a total retooling of the production line and there is no easy way to do it especially if you are splitting it into parallel parts to improve throughput.

It is a shame the UI clutter was not resolved over time. This would have taken this game from great to excellent. The beginning of the game is highly optimised, later game is not. If you wonder why you can't get things done well in the game, all you need to remember is it is not your problem.

Despite all that, I find it hard not to recommend this game for the sheer ambition it showed.

Steam says I've played for 30+ hours, so I guess I like it. :P

tldr: Very good production efficiency puzzle game with a car manufacturing theme.

All of this is from the perspective that I only paid $5 for the game (which is the perfect sweet spot for this no longer supported, aging title).

I'm not sure exactly to what some reviewers are referring when mentioning some major flaws. Certainly, it has minor flaws / quirks / annoyances, but overall it's a good, solid, non-buggy game. Could some things be better? For sure, but it's not game breaking. I will concede that it can be a bit cumbersome to find the information you need to figure out how to get the ability to do some things in the game. Again, it's not game-breaking - just takes a bit of patience to push through. Once you've figured it out, you're set for all other play-throughs.

This game has a few elements that make it fun and engaging:

[*]Production becomes more complicated but more rewarding the further down into the rabbit hole of research you go

[*]Always trying to eek out that extra bit of efficiency. Fixed one bottle-neck; now I have another!
[*]Trying to set production just right so you don't over-produce in any one category of cars (which causes sales slumps)

It really is a puzzle game wrapped in a car manufacturing theme which I find fun and engaging. I've even made a couple personal mods (though, modding this game is a bit of hit or miss - can be super frustrating) that add to the game. Overall, this is a thumbs up for me.

I really enjoyed this game. If you like a production management game this is a must play.

It can be difficult to learn how things work in some situations and you have to pay attention to the order your production is in. For instance if you have two of the same operation twice it doesn't always notice and you spend the time and materials twice for what was one operation.

Bought it at 80% off have already put in more than 20 hours and will put in more.

Things I would like:
1) The ability to set the number and difficulity of the opposing AI
2) To look at what each AI competator has researched / is producing
3) Economy swings way too fast from boom to recession - slow it down, good game mechanic but, as it very difficult to leverage for the player

Overall this is a strong recommend for people who like supply chain or factory management games.

The Good:
It's complex and balances economics and opportunity costs quite well
Gameplay is fairly intuitive and matches real life in most aspects of supply chain

The Bad:
$25 for a game that hasn't gotten an update in years is quite steep, even as a full retail price
No updates means that there may be better options out there for your dollar, though this is still a decent purchase

I really like when management games take inspiration from their theme, and that's something Production Line does brilliantly. Breaking down your assembly line into progressively more granular processes to optimize efficiency is genuinely really engaging, and you walk away from the game with a genuinely greater appreciation and understanding of what goes into making modern production chains work.

It's a good thing that the game nails this part so well, because the rest of the game is a mixed bag. UI alternates between extremely clear and well designed, to extremely unhelpful. The game seems to want you to adjust your factory layout with each tech advancement so you can fully take advantage of things, but the process of reorganizing the factory can be quite tedious; this is a game that would have benefited immensely from Factorio style blueprints. The mechanics outside of the production line are generally very shallow (e.g. marketing, competing companies), which can be unsatisfying. For example, there's no way to market yourself as focusing on a particular kind of car or price bracket, which makes a lot of theoretically possible cars you could build very impractical. None of these are deal breakers, but they are all sources of frustration that detract from the overall experience.

The game has particular problems when you try to play particularly long or build a particularly large factory. You have very limited options to reduce the input cost of components, which means that in the long run it will become impossible to profitably produce low income cars. Research has very heavy rubber banding, which is annoying and also heavily penalizes you if you try and unlock something like electric cars, since competitors will be racking up the cheaper and easier to manufacture features. Finally the really big maps don't work very well. To build a factory large enough to fill one of these maps you need to save up $20 million + just to have enough money to avoid going bankrupt before cars start reaching the end of the production line. For most players these problems will never come up, but if you're the kind of person who likes go for difficult achievements or who wants to push the size of their factory as far as the game will allow you should be aware that these are stumbling blocks you'll have to work around.

tldr: if the theme appeals to you and you can tolerate a fair amount of jank and balance issues then this game is an easy recommend, just be warned the game starts to break apart when you build particular large or late game factories.

I love similar automation and building games, I thought this would be Factorio for cars. I'll play a few hours, lose scenario, play another game instead. Few months go by, boot it back up, lose scenario, repeat. I cannot figure this game out.

I fail every scenario fairly quickly and I don't learn how to respond fast enough. The game could use some kind of progression system and balancing so I can actually learn how to play it before the rug is snatched out from under me. Its like trying to learn play a new game and the training level is nightmare difficulty.

Incredibly buggy, and frustrating to understand. If the bugs were ironed out I'd say your millage may vary. It's more like running a company than factory design. You compete against AI with imaginary $$$ at stake. You run out = game over. Either reload a past save and try to salvage the game (if possible), or start from ground 0.

Stay away from floor decorations unless you do them before starting what the tutorial asks for. Like seriously bugs in the tutorial is a major new player killer.

Rule #1: Always recolor your floor before building anything as it will bug out.
Rule #2: never drag & drop research as it will bug out & crash.
Rule #3: When selling be aware it will also sell any overhead conveyors (this is non-toggleable from what I've saw so far)
This also create line breaks.
Rule #4: When selling be aware that your conveyor may "travel" in the wrong direction suddenly and you'll need to demolish the entire conveyor (at a loss) in order to attempt to rebuild it, but even then it still my not function properly.

While I do recommend the game, it's unfortunate that it's been abandoned and is not worth more than its $10 sale price. The way I play this one is like a scaled-down car manufacturing Factorio, and that's fun. If you like the intersection of those games, you should read the thoughts from the developer, they're pretty interesting.

You might also like Positech's other games more than this one. I could go into all the reasons this is an awkward title, but other reviews touch on it well.

I actually really like the core of this game — it’s a fun, satisfying management sim that really scratches that optimization itch. But it honestly feels abandoned. There are still bugs, missing polish, and parts of the game that just don’t make sense. If it ever got proper updates and fixes, it could be amazing. As it is now, it’s good… just not as polished as it should be.

Das Spielprinzip ist Grundsätzlich gut.

Allerdings wirken Grafik und Menüs total veraltet und teils nicht durchdacht.
Das Tutorial ist nicht schlecht, wenn man am Anfang aber einfach das falsche erforscht gelangt verkauft man plötzlich keine Fahrzeuge mehr weil die Mängel ansteigen und man dies noch nicht beseitigen kann. Es ist für mich eher anstregend ständig die Produktion zu ändern weil sich die Modelle plötzlich nicht mehr verkaufen lassen.

+ genügsam bei der Grafikkarte
+ Anleitung + Tutorial in Deutsch

- alt wirkende Grafik/Oberfläche
- Text teils schwierig zu lesen (persönliches empfinden)

- Zoom geht nicht so weit wie gehofft

Fazit: Nicht mehr als 7-10 € ausgeben dann kann man es mal spielen und hat so 2-5 Stunden Spaß dran (ggf. länger)

For a game that relies heavily on reseaching new "modules" - that make reorganizing your factory necessary each time - moving and replacing existing modules is way to complicated!

I see potential but its not being harnessed at all.

Even unlocking new car models feels pointless since the pricing is always bound to the "price category" that only depends on extras you put in a car, so a supersportscar in luxury is worth the same as a sedan in luxury...

There are lots of much better factory builders out there.
I wish I would have realized that b4 the refund period was over.

Keyifli bir oyun. Teknoloji ağacı çok kalabalık, oyun en çok da teknoloji araştırmaya odaklanmış. Fakat bence tek atımlık bir oyun.. 26 saat boyunca oynayıp sonunda finansal olarak epey dengeli bir noktaya geldim. Bu noktadan sonra devam eder miyim ya da tekrar başlar mıyım, emin değilim. Bence bu haliyle bu kadarlık bir oyun bu.

Oyunun devamlılığını sağlamak için kasaların tasarımlarında değişiklik yapılmasına izin verilebilir. Şu anda neredeyse hiçbir şey yapamıyorsun. Mesela sedan aracın sadece tek bir görünüşü var, fiyatına göre sınıfı değişiyor. 2. bir farklı görünüşte sedan üretemezsin. Sun roof vs eklemek dışında dış görünüşte hiçbir esneklik yok. Bence bu çok büyük eksiklik.

I like the game, but later down the line more complex things become less intuitive. For instance, the tutorial tells me that everything is ordered in the build menu according to the order it should be in the assembly line. So, then, why is my line now telling me that after putting the steering column in I need to put the windshield in? Those aren't next to each other in the build menu. But then, once I put the windshield slot in the line, now it says I need seats next? And the car hasn't moved from the steering column section. Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

Es bastante dificil, y un poco obtuso para explicar las partes mas complejas del juego. Pero poco a poco se aprende y se hace un poquito mas facil.

Requiere mucho tiempo, y es algo frustrante. Aun asi, lo recomiendo por la posibilidad de opciones que te da, y la gran cantidad de contenido que tiene.

I really wanted to like this game - and to some degree, I did. The issue came when I felt some gameplay felt unpolished, so out of curiosity I went to the game's news to see how often it's updated, only to find that it isn't. The game is no longer in development, and it doesn't feel like a final product.

At its price, I feel I can get a better deal on another automation game, especially with the huge variety of games in that genre these days. If you're super into the premise and enjoy cars specifically, maybe you can overlook the rougher edges more easily than I can.

This feels like one of those games that will someday get a dedicated fan port like OpenTTD which will make it a hundred times better, and I hope that's the case, because it's got good bones.

this game is a fun game to play it has a few issues one is the game sometimes freezes and closes the game and the other is the loans it should get changed to end of the day payment so that you can get the most out of the loan but besides that its a addicting game trying to figure out the best setup for each factory size

This game WILL test you at first. The Tutorial doesn't give much help and throws you in the deep end VERY Quickly. But when you get your head around it, and have a play around on what you think is right and find out it isn't... (foreshadowing) Its extremely fun and makes you think about solutions and next steps. I'm a car mechanic by trade so it was easy for me to know where things could go in order ect ect... but after you get to grips this is a very, very good game. GIVE IT TIME AND A FAIR CHANCE!

This is a real fun game. Easy enough to learn, complex enough to get really involved in optimizing. the different scenarios prevent you from having a one horse trick, so to speak, as you need to adjust your factory output based on the scenario needs and market conditions.

I wish the statistics were a bit easier to read and digest, but once you get comfortable you can find the most important data relatively reliable and quickly.

I never built a super duper mega factory like they show in the gameplay trailer, I like my production lines more separated and while its not the most optimized method - it works. So Kudos to the devs that different playstyles can be accomodated.

Abandoned by the developer. There are even some texts in the game which say "this will be delivered in a later update". The last update is 6 years ago.

There is a bug which gives big discount for cars without any flaws or missing features. This bug can ruin your whole run if you dont see it early enough.

A shame since the game had big potential.

It's good. Not perfect, but good. If you're looking for a game that is asking to be "solved", this is that.

Definitely has some UI jank but if you're a little math nerd this is the perfect game to scratch that itch and then stare at a screen to watch numbers go up for an hour.

Es un buen juego, tiene potencial para ser un juego muy completo, pero le falta agregar mecánicas y detalles, es problema o el detalle que al agregarle mas mecánicas y detalles lo volverá muy complejo pero con un buen equilibrio puede ser un juego cómodo para toda la gente, sin duda lo recomiendo.

Cool car factory game, things could be better explained but I think figuring some of the technical workings out also makes the charm of sandbox games. You make choices that will either streamline the start of your company or help you in the long run, and I think that's a very realistic experience. Overall a fun management game despite the downs expressed in other reviews. I think it's a good game to get on sale

This game looks good on paper: Automation/Idle, research upgrades, etc.

In practice, it's unintuitive, the UI can be confusing, there's little in the way of tutorial or help, and all of this just makes it feel... un-fun.

Excellent factory game. While this game is incredibly deep, it has lighter optimisation elements compared to something like Factorio but it makes up for it massively with the market element. If you love Factorio you will probably enjoy this.

Game is abandoned.
Bugs remain, and a lot of stuff is left unpolished.

The core of the game is enjoyable, but after running into bugs and stuff not explained well enough it just starts getting very annoying and aggravating.

Must haves:

Fix bugs with discounts and selling cars, somehow completely fine cars were selling for $0

Add UI scaling

Needs a way to under-clock machines, so much emphasis on efficiency, which I love, but there is no way to get all the timeing of all the machines lined up.

There are some items you can't make yourself and have to import for some reason

Improve what features are needed in cars, had cars not selling cause they lacked features, but they had all features that were not Vary Rare and a few Very Rare ones, but still "lacked features"

Marking/demand/brand recognition does not make any sense, costs 400k for a magazine add, but once it ends your brand recognition drops to 0 and removes all "organic" brand recognition.

I don't get it, I made a full factory floor, I did basic cars, luxury cars, fast cars of each model, but they barely sold any for almost no profit and there was constant production errors that dip into the profits too.
Either there is something i missed or there is fundamentally wrong with this game.
The reseach took forever for even small improvements.

Don't buy a full price, it is max worth 15 euro

I played several Car production games, but this one is by far the most complete as game management, although I would have like more updates and new stuff on this game. The other car production games that I have played were in fact a deception, so I return to this game from time to time when I want to build a factory for cars.

the game is amazing and i get the vision of it but just to make budget cars with value and having to add a new thing to the production line increases the production cost way to much for any budget car and is way to annoying to figure out but then again that may just be me i give this game 3 out of 5 stars. also id like an option to chose what kind of engine goes in the car in a more in depth way.

Absolut unterschätzte Perle in dem Genre. Wer die ständige Optimierung bis ins kleinste Detail liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Aus "nur mal eben noch schnell" werden ganz schnell viele Stunden.
