Really short, really adorable game with some of the most engaging match-three mechanics i've gotten to play around with. I just wish it was a liiiiittle bit longer? But perhaps it just speaks to the quality of the writing that I'm dying to spend more time with these characters. Highly recommend checking out if you want a short ~6 hour game with sapphic bunnies and good match-3 puzzles.

Adorable match 3 game with a cute story. The pixel graphics are so pretty too! The characters a super cute. Love that you can earn currency to open up different colors for your bunny. I love the feed back and sounds as you are picking and planting your veggies during the match 3 puzzles. Fun, enjoyable, and pretty darn cozy.

💬 Gameplay: I thought this was a really interesting take on the match-3 game genre, one that I've found I'm particularly fond of when going through bouts of stress and whatnot. Instead of Tetris to calm the mind, Match-3 is my go to now. But there are so many ways that Match-3 can show up, and I liked this one mixed with the farming mechanic and having other element stuff happening to spice up gameplay!

An absolutely lovely and overlooked action-puzzler. Just basic enough that people who dont play these kinds of games can pull of crazy stuff, but also with enough depth that veterans have a lot to play with.

A colorful adventure where you accept your royal duties and help solve the mystery of the gummy enemies! Enjoy 9 chapters, with about 4 or 5 puzzles per chapter. (A puzzle might be something like.... "make horizontal matches, and avoid stripey beets! and verticals matches don't count!'). The blushing 💖bunny bashful animations in all the variety of dye styles are just too cute to resist! Seriously, change the hare dye every chance you get so that you have time to enjoy them before the game ends!
TIPS:
-Check the QUESTS on the menu screen each chapter to unlock hearts to spend at the shop.
-Change outfits, dyes, and sparkles when you return to your cottage, any chance you get!
-You only need to replay Chapter 9 to finish the game with the other playstyle achievements (Puzzle, Action, or Balanced).
-The Quick Matches are pretty fun on Hard mode, worth trying!

As such it’s barely recognizable as a member of the genre and feels quite novel. It also deviates in a lot of other ways, with a heavy emphasis on story between levels, and (unfortunately) almost zero difficulty because you basically can’t lose a level. Instead all you get is a 1-3 star rating depending on how “good” you did, with random movements often good enough for 1 star. I suppose the upside of this is that you’ll be guaranteed to be able to progress in the story if that’s what motivates you.
The other aspect that holds it back is a lack of polish and clarity; the game is constantly changing up the goals that you are supposed to be achieving (not just high score!) but it’s often hard to tell exactly what the new goals are and you never have any idea of whether or not you’ve done a 1-2 or 3 star performance until you have actually finished the level.
That said, the game delivers on the novelty side quite well, not just with the fresh match-3 mechanic, but also by constantly changing the goals between levels so that gameplay never feels rote. There are enough good ideas for several games here, I think. Plus, the storyline is fun and a surprisingly effective motivator to keep on playing.
In the end I strongly recommend this game (8/10) IF you don’t mind the ultra-casual “can’t lose” aspect, but give it a solid “meh” (5/10) if challenge is important to you.

It's a real shame so much of the game is "do stuff within a time limit" even if you select puzzle preference, because any timed goal is essentially just mash buttons, things will collapse, you'll get points or collect whatever it is you need to collect. It's a pretty good puzzle mechanic on the few occasions when the level goal is something that requires actual consideration.

I'm not exactly the intended demographic for this game but I really enjoyed it. Matching 3 by moving columns made for an interesting change to what I'm used to. The basics are pretty easy to pick up and everything's very cute while only sometimes becoming cloying. All in all a fun little puzzle game.
This is just charming and so much fun and just the kind of sweet, shiny, brightly-coloured, low-stakes puzzle game I needed in my life!

Princess Farmer is definetly very.... mid. I don't dislike it, but i wouldn't particularly recommend it either. It's a 4 hour long match-3 game, which even though kinda short, still managed to get stale and boring by the end, mainly due to one thing.... the gameplay doesn't evolve, at all. What you do in the tutorial, is what you'll be doing until the final boss, it doesn't add any more mechanics, doesn't get more difficult, and as a result ends up feeling like a slog to finish. Worth buying on sale, but not really a must play.
The graphics and story are very cute, so I recommend the game if you are in it for the art or world building -- unfortunately if you are looking for a puzzle game with any sort of depth, you will find the gameplay is immediately trivialized by button mashing.
It would be bad enough if button mashing were just a passable strategy to get through the early stages, but it far and away trumps any attempt at thoughtful play, easily giving you the highest grades on all of the time-based stages. You can try to carefully set up combos or arrange vegetables into rows of 4 or 5 -- or you can just mash mash mash mash to pick up all of the vegetables from one column, mash mash mash mash to toss them back somewhere else and -- whoa!! x2! x3! max combo! perfect score! 4 hearts!
Overall I am very impressed with the developers ability to put together a beautiful game, I think with a gameplay overhaul it could be something very special. But the game fundamentally does not function as a puzzle game, and I'm honestly not sure how it could be fixed.

It was so complete and eye-pleasing that I didn't have much to say about this game. Especially, the visuals of the store and the system to customize the character by going into the house were beautiful. It was like a little jewelry box. It's a system that anyone who likes to collect something will definitely like.
The story needs to be done more in the future, but please don't be flat. It follows the typical magic girl genre of cliché, where someone picks up something that's dropped on the ground and becomes a magic girl. From now on, I'll focus on how brought it to suit this game.
A cute, fun game with a lot of replay values as it offers different types of puzzle styles and quick modes. It has a retro feel to it plus lofi music and I love the bunbuns. I also always appreciate customization and there are a lot of color combinations to choose from.
The only downside I would say are unskippable dialogues during replays and some of the daily quests/achievements are a slog to get through.

meu favorito é o estilo da arte do jogo que é um AMOR, tudo super colorido, e as conquistas também são fáceis e divertidas de desbloquear, mesmo que eu tenha que dar uma "passada de pano" pra conquista que literalmente pede pra você ficar 2 horas com a lojinha do jogo aberta.
recomendo pra quem quiser um joguinho colorido pra passar o tempo sendo a princesa fazendeira que porta um batom mágico pra colher vegetais.

Princess Farmer is a very cute, very comfy puzzle game. I really enjoyed that you could play multiple different ways, and you weren't penalized for playing differently - you'll get the same rewards and endings through the story. The characters and dialogue are really cute and I liked how inclusive it was! It has so much charm throughout, from the story, the art, the music. If you like match-3 puzzle games, definitely pick this one up for a comfy and cute spin on the genre!

some achievements are way too annoying to get and low key ask of you to keep coming back to the game every day instead of letting you grind in longer sessions which i dislike

i was wrong. someone pointed out that gaia gives you 10k if you're bffs at the end of the seventh chapter. so start the chapter, talk to her once, replay the very last level (you don't have to win so just let it play out if you want) and reap your rewards. there's a shoppe right in front of the level also, meaning you can grind comfortably. cycle takes like 3 minutes and is much faster than the daily missions which only give you 1k or less x3
(still an annoying achiev, paired with the be afk in game for two hours one.)

The Good:
The three possible play styles. I really enjoyed the "action style" that was basically easy, because I prefer button mashing and huge match avalanches, but you can also play more precision or balanced styles.
The graphics and writing are wholesome and cute. Yuri overtones, but nothing too overt as to offend the pearl-clutchers.
Excellent game play. I totally recommend using the directional up and down on a controller.
Music and sounds all fit perfectly.
The meh:
I think leaning into the romance options / dating sim element a little more might have motivated me to replay it.
The verdict:
Good Match-3 games are hard to find on PC, and this is one of them. $15 (regular price) is a bit steep for about 5 hours of play (to finish the main quest). But if this goes on sale for $10 or less, give it a shot.
I liked it. It was fun to play through in a couple sessions and a nice break from school. It's a beach read you can thumb through in a wing chair.

I love it! I'm not good at the puzzle aspect but the game is forgiving, and I enjoy it just the same! The soundtrack is amazing, the art is beautiful, and the world is calming. Thank you for making this game!

Though the controls were a bit hard at first because I was expecting a cursor similar to Tetris Attack / Panel de Pon, once I understood you controlled everything from the top of the board they were fully intuitive.
For my initial play through I had the game on the medium difficulty and balanced settings, and the puzzles were challenging without being frustrating. Players looking for more challenge can ramp it up, but I really liked that you could choose if wanted a fast-paced, big combo, action mode or a slower mode with tougher puzzles that made you think. More puzzle games should definitely allow that option.
The story and characters were great, and a fun way to progress from puzzle to puzzle. The biggest downside at the moment is that it is not very long, but it also wasn't a finish-in-a-day for me. The quick play mode adds a ton of replayability, however, as you work to best your high scores.
The pixel art style is absolutely adorable, and I loved the music.
I highly recommend this for fans of match-3 puzzle games!

C'est un match 3 avec plein de couleurs (un peu trop même).
L'histoire, enfin les protagonistes, sont assez sympas.
Par le contre le gameplay l'est beaucoup moins. La plupart des match sont soit avec une limite de temps soit avec un élément de jeu en temps réel. On m'a laissé le choix entre style arcade ou réflexion mais je ne suis pas sûr que cela change grand chose. Au final j'ai changé le dossier de rangement de ce jeu de réflexion vers arcade.
Si votre truc c'est des trucs qui bougent dans tous les sens, agir le plus rapidement possible etc... le jeu pourrai vous plaire. Si, comme moi, vous aimez prendre votre temps avant de prendre une décision, c'est beaucoup moins sur. Le jeu pousse constamment à agir plutôt qu'à vraiment réfléchir. Les formes du terrain n'aidant pas non plus, laissant souvent une grande place au hasard.
Je n'ai même pas fini le jeu donc pouce rouge.

Very fun! Distinct mechanic from other match-3 type games I've played, and it's fun both to replay the chapters and to play the bonus modes. Tuxedo Masc, I would do anything for you. I got this as part of a bundle, so I knew very little before I actually started playing. The feeling of love I got from the varied pronouns and expressions of gender was a big part of what hooked me and made me keep sharing screenshots to my friends

Was looking for a cute puzzle game and was not disappointed!
Princes farmer is a very LGBT+ friendly game with a cute story, nice graphics, and match-3-gameplay. There are different playatyles you can select to fit with your strategy, there is no real way to lose, the dialogue is fun and if you have finished the story and want to continue playing, you can get endless hour by playing the quick play mode.
I had a blast playing this game and can absolutely recommend it!
The vegetables go up, the vegetables go down. 8/10 gameplay, 10/10 art/graphics~!

Princess Farmer is a cute puzzle game about bunnies saving the world through gardening. I am not the target audience for the game at all, but I still thought the mechanics of the game were creative and that the story was sweet. I adored the representation of nonbinary genders and neopronouns in this game, and I love how elegant some of the bunnies look even with pixel graphics. It's a short game as long as you're not looking to 100% it, and though my time with this game was pretty okay, I think it would be a lot more fun for people who enjoy match three games.
If you like wholesome, chill and cute kind of games then this is a must have! -^v^-

The wholesome interactions, loveable characters, really good soundtrack, amazing pixelart visuals, the writing in general, everything just feels so so good and pure! What a charming game! I never expected a match-3 game to be able to captivate me, yet this is such a fun spin on the genre that I managed to have fun nonetheless, all the way through~
The characters are as charming as they are over-the-top, but in such a way that they all feel natural in the context of this magical world the Princess Farmer lives in. Really nice game overall, I recommend it!
This game was incredibly charming from its wide variety of fun characters. To non-binary bunnies to loving the use of neopronouns, I loved every minute of this game. Not only is the match 3 gameplay addicting. This cutie princess farmer from her blushing to love of food made every minute of this story worth it. I couldn't think of a better game to celebrate inclusivity of LGBTQIAS2+ characters in a video game and made me so happy to share this with my community for the month of pride. I also loved the hair dyes, pride color sparkles, and cute outfits to choose from. I will definitely be playing this game again in the future. I highly recommend this game.

I didn't want to play [b]Princess Farmer[/b] for a long time. For a very long time, even. I've seen it again and again in my recommendations, but I simply waved it away. At some point I gave up and added the game to my endless wishlist. And then I bought it. And then I played it.
Why the hell haven't I played it for so long? Shame on me, seriously.
As you can probably tell, I loved [b]Princess Farmer[/b], and I actually consider it one of the best game I've played this year.
[h1]The basics[/h1]
This is a match-3 game, and you've probably played one at least once in your life. But this is not the type where you can take any element and swap it with its neighbor — here you have to match elements by moving them up and down only. Very easy to learn, but for me it took some time to actually master.
The game doesn't become boring over time, because the rules and goals change a bit in each level. Also you can choose your play style for every episode:
- action bunny (if you don't really want to think over your every move)
- puzzle bunny (if you want to have a little extra time)
- balanced bunny (a bit of both)
Thanks to all that, levels feels fresh. I've played through half of the game in one sitting and still wanted more.
[h1]The plot and everything nice that goes along with it[/h1]
The plot is nice but I do not consider it to be the strongest part. I won't tell you anything since there's not much to tell anyway. The dialogues are good, and I think that's all that matters in this case.
The characters are great! Each one of them is so cute, it's still hard for me to pick my favorite. Also, I like that your answers in dialogues have an effect on your relationships, even if it's not that big.
[h1]Other stuff I want to mention[/h1]
❤️ 1. Character customisation. You can choose your outfit, a dye, and sparkles. Btw, the transformation animation changes a bit depending on your outfit! Extra cute, love it. You can buy new things for the customisation in a shop, which is available at all times even outside of levels. And during the game you can go back home at any point if you want to change your looks.
❤️ 2. Great art and the colors overall, the music is good too.
❤️ 3. The whole magical-girl anime aesthetic. And as a person who loved Sailor Moon as a kid, I really appreciate Tuxedo Masc!
❤️ 4. The game was designed so that you would feel good. Every part of it corresponds to this goal: from the light and simple storyline to accessibility options. The devs worked hard to create a comfortable gaming experience for every player.
❤️ 5. Fun fact: the game was created by a wife/wife team. Talk about relationship goals!
💔 1. Some dyes are too expensive, I think. I understand they were added for players who would want more goals in the game after completing it. Maybe in the future I'll find my way to earn more currency, but right now it feels I have to spend a lot of time getting more dyes for the achievement.
💔 2. The controls feel a bit awkward if you don't use gamepad. Who actually uses B on a keyboard to close something? That feels counterintuitive.

So I'm not really the target audience for this game but I love trying games too much for that to stop me. I'm glad I tried this, Princess Farmer is a fantastic game!
I'll get right to the root of my praise: Princes Farmer is the best match 3 game I've ever played. The core systems design is genius and there's a great variety of interesting levels to explore it with. This leads to a fun game that stays fresh for it's entire runtime.
In order to explain what's so clever about Princess Farmer's gameplay, I'll have to indulge the computer scientist part of me and talk about data structures. The secret ingredient that makes the player's interaction with match 3 mechanics so good is stacks.
Every column of the board is an endless stack of vegetables. As the player, you can push and pop vegetables from the top layer of the board. The last in first out action doesn't stop there... your hands are also a stack... that can only hold 5 items at a time!
Your interaction with the board is not only incredibly unique and interesting conceptually, but it's also operating under a tricky constraint.
You'll constantly flow between digging and burying while cursing the vegetables getting in the way of your hopes and dreams. It makes for both a fun and utterly approachable challenge. It was also incredibly satisfying to learn the nuances of this system... what starts as a system getting in your way becomes a powerful machine for stacking the board in your favor.
What really makes this gameplay shine is the constant variety in level objectives, constraints, and boards. There are 2 types of challenges in this game: speedy and thinky. One of the great decisions form the developer is that you can choose what you prefer when starting every mission. You can play this game with only speedy challegnes, only thinky challenges or balanced which containts plenty of both. It's neat to see the option if one of those styles doesn't appeal to you. Diversity is what appeals to me, so I enjoyed playing balanced for my playthrough. Alternating between these 2 styles of challenges was great for pacing.
The game has a nice arsenal of level objectives. It's rare that you're just trying to score points, often you want to harvest specific vegetables. Sometimes you want to harvest specific arrangements or areas. The real spicy stuff is the constraints, specifically the ones that want you to avoid something. It's incredibly amusing to play a level where you're trying to harvest as much as a vegetable within only so many points. I love the way those delicious combos become dangerous traps. There's nothing like the feeling of being jump scared by matches and watching in terror as the board bursts into points.
I love the way challenges and constraints are implemented as soft optimization goals. Some of the more interesting ones would be quite frustrating if I was trying to beat a level without failing them. This game is more like "here's you budget of {constraint} have fun scoring as much of {goal} as possible". I enjoyed this style, although it's worth noting that if you really master avoiding something then you can stay on some levels for a slightly uncomfortable amount of time. That's not too big of an issue though, it's almost self solving from the player feeling like moving on or increasing their pace.
The art is nice, there's some areas that are quite pretty. I enjoyed the soundtrack a lot, it wraps the game in great vibes while also having some lovely highlights.
The story is not for me. It's quite blushy crushy and wasn't terribly interesting. I can still appreciate how fluffy and gay it is. There's lots of filler, it feels intentional as part of how much the game pays so much homage to magical girl anime {which admittedly I don't know very much about, I've only watched princess tutu}.
The last episode of Princess Farmer was my favorite in almost every aspect, i thoroughly enjoyed all the other ones but that was a clear highlight. I also loved the area you go through in episode 8.
Even though I didn't truly vibe with the story, it was frequently amusing and never annoying.
There's an impressive amount of alternate color schemes and cosmetics for the main character. This isn't normally something I meaningfully engage with in games, here I was able to enjoy it slightly more than I was expecting too.
Finally I appreciate the character that uses neopronouns. It's so satisfying how naturally everyone just accepts and uses them correctly. It's also free conjugation practice for me since I have a friend that uses the same ones 🙂

Charming, addictive, with an absolutely immaculate sense of style. If you like adorable gay rabbits and want a more interesting take on match-3 gameplay than the standard Bejeweled style, you'll love this. You can even co-op with friends that don't have the game, and I love that, it's one of my favourite steam features.
