A clear spiritual descendant of Master of Magic — basically Civilization meets Heroes of Might & Magic.

Planar Conquest has genuinely good mechanics. City management, spell systems and tactical battles are well designed and there’s a lot of strategic potential. On paper it’s a great idea and at times you can feel how fun the game wants to be.

Unfortunately, the transition to 3D hurt it badly. Enemy turns take forever, the world map is hard to read, and the visuals and unit models feel stiff and unattractive. Instead of helping clarity, the graphics actively work against gameplay.

It honestly feels like a game where the mechanics deserved a Heroes III-style presentation — the same systems in a cleaner, 2D readable style would probably make it far more enjoyable. Because of that, many players see it as a solid strategy buried under poor technical execution.

Моё мнение - игра просто бомбезная. Разработчики или кто занимался созданием этой игры - вы почти создали ШЕДЕВР, на мой взгляд! Да, есть баги, есть маленькие, незначительные, а есть такие, которые вызывают буквально абьюз всего происходящего. Может, это фича, я не знаю.

Я был бы рад узнать, что нашелся хоть кто-то, кто смог бы просто логично допилить эту игру.
До сих пор я не вижу подобных аналогов. Есть либо что-то очень простое либо слишком сложное, типа Endless Legend.

Touted as the spiritual successor to 1994's Master of Magic, this game just doesn't come close. At best, it's a cheap rip-off of some of the features of the original with a WHOLE lot of added bugs for your enjoyment. Spells that don't work (like, at all), items that don't work (like, at all), and very dumbed-down city management and spell systems just make it feel like another Age of Wonders clone. Once again, a game made 21 years before this is the superior product.

From the very beginning, the game shows ambition, allowing you to craft your own wizard, choose spell schools, and build an empire across parallel dimensions. The premise is engaging, but what unfolds can feel more overwhelming than empowering.

As the game begins, you find yourself managing a city, constructing buildings, raising armies, and researching spells, all while preparing for inevitable conflict with rival mages. It follows the familiar “explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate” formula. There’s depth in the options—unit types, city development paths, planar gateways—but much of it feels underdeveloped. The AI is particularly erratic, frequently declaring war without clear cause and struggling with basic decision-making. Diplomacy feels more like a checkbox feature than a strategic layer, and alliances often collapse into unavoidable conflict regardless of your choices. Managing multiple planes adds scale, but the maps and their inhabitants begin to feel repetitive after a few hours.

The tactical battles take place on a separate grid and allow for direct control of units, but the system lacks nuance. Positioning and unit variety theoretically offer room for strategy, yet most encounters are determined by sheer numbers and brute strength. Auto-resolve is unreliable, and the interface during combat is clunky, with little feedback or clarity. Spells, while diverse and powerful, often end up being spammed rather than tactically deployed, simply because the UI makes it difficult to manage finer details. Over time, the combat loop becomes more of a chore than a compelling challenge.

One of the game’s biggest drawbacks is its presentation and interface. Graphically, Planar Conquest looks dated, with static textures, minimal animation, and generic art assets that do little to immerse the player. The menus are cumbersome, the font is small and hard to read in some versions, and basic actions like adjusting production queues or navigating between cities require more clicks than they should. Tutorials are minimal, and for new players especially, the learning curve feels steep—not because of game complexity, but because of a lack of clear instruction or modern quality-of-life design.

Despite these issues, the game does have moments of genuine enjoyment. As you expand across different planes, build up your empire, and unlock higher-tier spells, there’s a steady sense of progression. If you enjoy tinkering with faction builds, creating unique spell combinations, or micromanaging cities and units, there’s some satisfaction to be found. The sheer volume of options—whether in hero traits, unit upgrades, or planar travel—can make each campaign feel distinct, at least for the first few hours. But the cracks begin to show when those systems lack the strategic weight or polish to hold long-term engagement.

Stability and performance are also frequent concerns. On some platforms, players have reported crashes, corrupted saves, and bugs that halt progress entirely. These technical issues, combined with inconsistent UI feedback and slow AI turns, can seriously undermine the player experience. While patches and updates have addressed some of these problems, the overall sense is that Planar Conquest is still rough around the edges and not as refined as its inspirations.

In the end, Planar Conquest feels like a game with grand ideas but limited follow-through. It’s clearly built with passion and a love for classic 4X mechanics, and for players who are willing to push through its rough spots, it can offer a satisfying strategic sandbox. However, the lack of polish, cumbersome interface, and repetitive gameplay loops hold it back from being a must-play in the genre. It’s a game for enthusiasts with patience—those looking to relive a bit of retro fantasy strategy without expecting the depth or fluidity of modern counterparts.

Игра какашка. ПРосто какашка и все. Ее не возможно сравнить даже с самыми первыми age of wonders не говоря уже ни о чем другом. Купил на распродаже, и даже 60 потраченых рублей жалко. Эконимака какой то ужас, бой и того ужасней, вырвиглазное перемещение, отображение магии просто гадость, ну зачем мне разные закляться если в конечном итоге просто враг получает урон и все, где эти летающие огненные шары? Где волна смерти из героев 2 когда не было графики и все доделываоли музыкальными спец эфектами.. Ну и вырвиглазный дружественый интерфейс.. В общем поздравляю, получилось то еще гамно... Ну и теперь понятно почему существует распродажа на которой цена игры снижается на 85 процентов.. Да ее бесплатно раздавать надо и все равно играть никто не будет!! :)) и это 2018 год господа на дворе!!

Planar Conquest é uma boa opção para fãs de estratégia por turnos e fantasia clássica.

Técnicamente, el estado no es muy bueno (tiempos de carga largos, con tal nivel de mierda general). La música pitaba algo (cosplay para fantasía épica). La trama de introducción, de nuevo, algunos villanos y demás, estúpidamente formal, desalmada, ahhhénica para presumir.
Pero todo esto son nimiedades, comparado con el contenido en sí: desde el principio te dan a elegir entre razas, especializaciones, tipo de sangre, pedigrí, número de vecinos bot y otras herejías sobrecargadas, y aquí estás en modo "escaramuza". Estúpidamente de inmediato. Sin entrenamiento, sin pistas verbales. ¡JUEGA Y MIRA! cómo caminar - no está claro de inmediato (¿cómo hacer el siguiente movimiento - lo descubriste entre 10 imágenes? Mira Hepla - ¡pero esa imagen con el reloj de arena ni siquiera estaba en la pantalla de inmediato!) todo tipo de botones, menús, libros, listas, ejércitos, resultados, hechizos y otros goyda y un carro para arrancar - en resumen, cállate - todo es tan misterioso - descúbrelo desde el nacimiento o telepáticamente, intuitivamente (porque en el menú principal hay un elemento manual, pero cuando haces clic en él, no sucede absolutamente NADA). ...очередна *целый абзац запиканый звёздочками*
Техническо состояние не фонтан (долгие загрузки - при таком то уровне общего *****). Музло что-то там пиликает (косплея под фэнтази-эпик). Заставка-сюжет опять, какие то там злодеи и прочее, тупо шаблонно бездушно ахххеничесскойе для галки.
Но это всё мелочи, по сравнению с самим содержимым: со старта дают там на выбор расы, спеки, группу крови, родословную, кол-во ботососедей и прочу перегружену ересь, и вот вы в режиме "скирмиш". тупо сразу. никакого обучения, никаких хоть словесных подсказок. ИГРАЙТЕ ГЛЯТЬ! как даже ходить - не сразу понятно (как делать след ход - выяснилос среди 10 картинок ? хепла глять - но этой пикчи с песочными часами сразу даж не было на экране!) всяки там кнопочки-менюшки-книжки-списки-армии-ресы-спеллы-и проча гойда и тележка впридачу - короч хоть затыркайтесь - усё такое загадошное - узнавайте от рождения или телепативно-интуитивно (ибо в глав меню есть пункт мануала - но по клику на нём не происходит ровным счётом НИЧИШУЙА). почти час заняло всё это методонаучнотыкательное - и это без вниканий в сюжетку и без подробного прочтения талмудов при выборе стартовой расы и прочих... и там аж 14 карточек - и за битый час даж не выпало ни одной - но с таким ценничком на скидосе - это видать и задумка, скармливать сею поделку любителям фармить картонки - ибо играть в это икс пойми поди узнай по закоулкам...

Bu yapımcı, önceki projelerine kıyasla gerçekten büyük bir adım atmış. Oyun, grafiksel anlamda oldukça hoş bir hale gelmiş ve arayüzü son derece kullanıcı dostu. Başlangıçtan itibaren, her şey yerli yerine oturuyor ve yeni başlayanlar bile zorluk çekmeden oyunun mantığını kavrayabiliyor. Menü ve seçenekler, karmaşık olmayan bir şekilde düzenlenmiş ve oyuncunun ne yapması gerektiği her zaman açık ve anlaşılır bir şekilde sunuluyor.

Özellikle oyun içi mekanikler ve etkileşimler konusunda da büyük bir iyileşme var. Önceden kafa karıştırıcı olabilen bazı unsurlar şimdi çok daha anlaşılır bir şekilde aktarılmış. Čekala jsem hru podobnou Heroes of Might and Magic. Místo toho jsem však dostala vzhledově kostrbatou, hodně jednotvárnou a sakra pomalou prapodivnou tahovku. Úvod do hry je to nejlepší, co jsem ve hře našla. Volba hrdiny, druhu, skillů a kouzel je impozantní, dál to však stojí za starou bačkoru. Nelíbí se mi ani budování, ani tvorba armády, a u pohybu po mapě jsem vysloveně trpěla. A ovládání je další utrpení.

also das game kostet 1€ was bekommt man heut zu tage für nen euro. eine kugel eis (eine sehr kleine) jetzt bin ich jemand der sein eis sehr schnell ist und wenn ich das eisessen mit Planar Conquest verglieche hatte ich hier mehr spaß. ja das game ist alt (2016), ja das game ist mies übersetzt kommt sehr oft vor das die beschreibungen in englisch sind. ja die ki ist ziemlich dämlich und ja es gibt paar kleine bugs. ABER was zur hölle will man für EINEN EURO erwarten???? ich hab nicht viel erwartet und wurde positiv überrascht. hatte ein paar abende spaß und deswegen gibt es nen daumen hocht. und wer sich immer noch unsicher ist der wartet halt auf nen sale und kauft es dan halt für 25 cent.

Купил игру за 30р. Есть приличное количество бесящих глюков но в целом игра приятная и интерфейс достаточно информативен. Играть приятно до момента например глюка камеры в бою (пропадает возможность ее перемещать) :) Но за цену в 30 рублей игра более чем классная.

Planar Conquest is yet another construction kit template copy+paste from serial shovelware pushers, Conglomerate 5. While Conglomerate 5 are more famous for pushing Russian asset flips and other shovelware onto Steam (they have close links with a number of shady Russian Steam polluters), this time they got their hands on an abandoned mobile app and are trying to scam PC gamers into buying it. So they haven't strayed far in their mission to gouge PC gamers for trashware.

This is a "Master of Magic" ripoff made for iOS and Android (where it was infested with a nasty cash shop etc), a fantasy themed hybrid grand strategy with turn based tactical battles... all of which were massively dumbed down for the iPhone users this was designed for.

Conglomerate 5 have a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. One example of Conglomerate 5 doing this is [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/590870]Planetoid[/url], which is really the "[url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/game-toolkits/tower-defense-toolkit-4-tdtk-4-91023]Tower Defense Toolkit 4[/url]" asset, written by the actual developers, SongGameDev.

Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The mobile app features low-polygon "retro" assets with cartoony, mobile app style shader effects, making this look like a barely functional mobile app from 15 years ago. This visual style is a method that lazy devs often use when they have a lack of interest/capabilty to create highly detailed, high poly models and instead use shader effects to disguise that shortcoming under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the mobile app. It's far below the state of the art visuals gamers expect as a result of their decisions.

Because this was a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.

These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

Planar Conquest didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the mobile app, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the mobile app didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for casting a spell, trivial to get, but less than 30 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the mobile app. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the mobile app.

So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

Planar Conquest is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the mobile app, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam.

Купил [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/265970/Worlds_of_Magic/]Worlds of Magic[/url] за 21р, получил по копии Worlds of Magic и Planar Conquest, подарил по копии Worlds of Magic еще 2 людям - получил еще по копии игры в инвентарь для подарков, начал фармить карточки - первая же карточка выпала металлическая на 103р, с 2 игр фармятся 24 игровые карточки, сложно написать отрицательный отзыв игре при таком раскладе, даже если игра плохая, но судя по отзывам Planar Conquest - это попытка возрождения Worlds of Magic, обе пошаговые стратегии, как я люблю, в обеих, судя по видосам, вполне неплохая графика, надеюсь разрабы допилят игру до приличного состояния и можно будет поиграть
Позабавило, что разрабы на обложке игры отдельно выделили нативную поддержку linux, сейчас любая видюшка с поддержкой вулкана поддерживает протон, а значит давно прошли те времена, когда можно было писать что линух не для игр, спасибо Гейбу за инициативу с разработкой протона, линух если не нативно, то через протон без проблем практически любую игру может запустить

The UI could be more friendly, but this is Civ/MOO type game with magic instead of tech. Found cities; balance farming, production, and research; use diplomacy to interact with opponents, etc. The combat interface is turn based with movement/action control of individual units. I'm liking it (a lot) so far.

Just play Master of Magic again. I know you wanted an updated successor, and so did I, but this isn't it.

Zmarnowany czas na szczęście nie pieniądze.

Jak ja to kupiłem , nie wiem. Paskudnie brzydki, nieintuicyjny , nudny kasztan. Odpalasz, próbujesz grać i po paru minutach chcesz to wyłączyć i odzobaczyć.

Straszny kasztan, nawet nie chce mi się dalej tego pisać.
