I absolutely adore the character designs and colour schemes, the story is interesting, and the gameplay is simple, which I love. All in all a great game, love it <3

Good points:

Good length (I want to say it was about 5-6 hours of active play to beat the game 100%.)
Bad points:
Combat system is awful.
The first dungeon is very hard. There's no way to regen out of battle. All characters have a short list of 5-6 moves total. The leveling is messed up - new characters join your party at a significantly lower level and don't ever catch up unless you hit max level.
The boss battles require zero strategy, it's just "hit normal attack until your MP comes back, then hit your one attack move and heal".
The animations are all awful 2006-era Flash/Gacha Life-style animations.
The game is very linear, with the "choices" you make ending up in no difference besides making the ability you get after each boss fight either AOE or single-target.
There's no run option
The minimap is so zoomed in that you might as well not have it, since it doesn't show anything.
All dungeons are 1-2 floor loops where all you do is look around, collect the McGuffins, fight some mobs, and get through the next door.
overall, what this feels like is someone's first game project. Unfortunately, the cool aesthetic doesn't make up for the unenjoyable gameplay.
An RPG with a colorful yet dark aesthetic and some distinctly Shin Megami Tensei vibes! Make friends, solve supernatural mysteries, and save the town from an impending apocalypse along the way! Feels a bit short at 5 hours but it's all juicy stuff; I think the game could have benefited from more team-building scenes and also sidequests not necessarily related to the main one, but there's a complete story here with a partially open-ended conclusion and that's preferable to an over-bloated plot beast for sure!
I wish it was longer it felt too short, it would've benefited from developing the story for a longer period of time.
But taking it. how it is, aesthetically its stunning, and incredibly visually and atmospherically unique, the story has an intriguing premise and the characters are decent given the length of the game. The combats nothing new to the genre but that's okay.
The music and visuals really work together and the premise is really intriguing, the plot keeps the pace up and players engaged.
Once the journey ended, I really wanted more. I hope another game comes out because it was fantastic.

I loved the game. A decent little story but the artwork really shined in this. The enemies had fun concepts and the boss fights were a nice challenge. Would recommend you make sure to fight every single battle if you want to reach level 50 and keep your potions stocked up if possible. I played it twice in one night to get all the trophies and had a lot of fun. Thanks!

I found this game through searching the brand up as I actually owned quite a few of the T-shirts I bought in store. I was looking to find more designs to eventually buy at some point and on the Pinku Kult website I found the game and ended up adding it to my wishlist so that I may buy it at some point to play.
The game is a unique lil RPG game with horror like elements sprinkled throughout it. Each chapter is pretty short and takes around an hour to complete.
The pros. All characters have themes related to them and are also memorable with their designs. The combat is very simple and easy to learn within a few minutes. Areas aren't too complicated to explore and each area has it's own theme as well as enemies that relate to it. The art for the game is beautiful and I love it. I just love the general vibe and aesthetic of the game and I can see myself playing it again in the future as I want to see how certain selections affect a battle. The final boss fight as well was enjoyable and I found it challenging as I didn't expect the amount of phases we technically had.
And now the cons. I understand that it is a indie game with a small team and I do take that into consideration with my review. If you haven't played turn based RPG games and don't know when to heal then it can be quite challenging as enemies from the get go do hit pretty hard and it's very easy to get KO'd almost instantly. The game felt far to short to me, Especially how we had so many interesting boss fights and for 3 of them I found myself not caring for them at all due to the fact that there wasn't any real lead up to their fight. Just brief mentions of the characters or appearances. It felt if they where removed, it wouldn't have changed much of the gameplay and story.
In conclusion, the game is enjoyable and easy to play in one sitting and has an interesting story as well as lore related to Razore City. The art style is bright and colourful. The characters are memorable and well designed. For an indie game, it's very well done and plays well. Even with the few cons I had with the game, it is one I enjoyed a lot and one I plan to play again one day. The ending no matter your choice will be a cliffhanger, leaving the opportunity for another game to happen one day which I do hope happens as I'd like to see more to this little world.
I really love this game! For me at least, it was very easy with understandable mechanics and gameplay. I love the characters and the different settings, along with the music. The artstyle is really cool and the plot is very interesting. It's a very short game, but it's a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend, great value for the price and highly enjoyable!

Um ótimo RPG com estilo de terror. Possui lindos designs, um soundtrack muito bom e uma gameplay bem feita. O jogo consegue não ser repetitivo, também fazendo as batalhas bem divertidas. Os bosses são muito legais também, tanto no design, personalidade e batalha em si. A historia do jogo é bem legal também. Realmente vale a pena o preço.
I just finished streaming this game and both me and my audience adored it! I was so invested in the mystery! My favourite part though was the designs of the creatures, each of them all so unique and I was always pleastenly suprised by each new phase. I 100% recommended this game!

This game was cute, it took me about 4 hours to finish. The paper cut-out design really didn't appeal to me, but the rest of the character art is lovely. Very colourful, with a touch of horror. The gameplay is simple, but does get repetitive near the end. Combat is not difficult, but enemies don't have a health bar and can one-shot you sometimes. I was annoyed at the final dungeon when I had to [spoiler] fight all the previous bosses again. There was 1 new one before the big bad, discount Draculaura who had no real presence in the rest of the game. [/spoiler]
The central mystery was what made me keep playing, and the aesthetics. The plot itself is quite average, with a [spoiler] good vs evil, balance must be maintained for the cycle [/spoiler] type of thing. I believe there is another ending, but I don't feel compelled to see it. The game ends [spoiler] on a bit of a cliffhanger [/spoiler] and I do hope to see more from this developer. Just don't expect the world from this game. It isn't revolutionary, or the best thing I've ever played. But it was fun and killed some time. And what else can you ask for from games?

THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE. I cannot express properly how amazing it is. Visually, story wise, the sound track, all of it was phenomenal. The fighting? Amazing. So fluid and lets you figure out a strategy with the turn based aspect. I adore this game and now im off to find out if there are more than one ending~!
A neat little turn-based RPG with a unique style. Everything from the character designs, to the music, to the color palette gives the game this dreamlike, almost surreal energy. It's a bleak and frightful world, but also an intriguing one. The story of tracking down the girl in the fox mask is definitely drawing me in.
The combat is simple, but effective. You've got a suite of skills that use mana, which regenerates a little bit each turn. Item utilization is critical, but thankfully the game is very generous with item pickups, and they aren't too expensive to buy either. It's also neat how you can see your new skills lined up, even before you have the mana to cast them. Sort of lets you know what to look forward to.
Overall, I dig it. A worthwhile purchase for turn-based RPG fans.
I seriously enjoyed this! The art style, music, battle style and characters really came together wonderfully; and although a short game it kept my interest and the ending had me hoping a sequel was in the works. The problem I have with it is first in combat you have the health bars for each player but there isn't one for the enemies/bosses nor could I find any setting for it to appear, the dungeon designs were great which is why I was upset they weren't very big the same could be said for the world map, finally the dialogue was a bit bland and frankly annoying at times with no skip button and I did notice a couple of spelling errors - but the pros do outweigh the cons and I would recommend this. 8/10
This game is SO FUN!! The storytelling is interesting, and keeps you guessing. The art? Don't even get me STARTED on the art!! It is gorgeous! The characters designs are beautiful and I have fallen in love with all of them! Heavily recommend playing, and I will play this game over and over again.
I initially bought this game because I loved the creator's style. I saw a random tiktok one day and thought that since it wasn't too expensive I would give it a try. I ended up beating it in one sitting!! I had so much fun. The characters and art are beautifully designed. If you are into cute/horror motifs i have no doubt you will enjoy this game based on aesthetic alone. The beginning does feel as if you are kinda thrown into a really random situation, but I believe the story unfolds rather tastefully. While all your questions may not be answered at the end, I think the air of mystery only adds to this super cool game. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. If you like simple rpgs with amazing artwork then this is the one.
This game has become my new hyperfixation. Beautiful art, incredible music, and a captivating story with loads of secrets and easter eggs to be found. I've already played and completed 3 different save files, none of which I made the same choices.
An incredible piece of work and I'm seriously looking forward to what the developers have in store for the future!!
I have been waiting to play this game ever since its creator announced that she was going to release it. Seeing gameplay screenshots does not do justice for this game, it's so much better when you actually play it.

Gameplay is turnbased and it's fairly easy to level up your character.
Music/ambiance 10/10 (i'd actually get goosebumps in some gameplay areas because of the music)

I'm in love with the aesthetics! Despite the sinister themes, the doll-like style is very charming and it becomes a really enjoyable experience. The battle system is challenging yet not frustratingly difficult. I usually find it hard to enjoy story in games but i really like this one and found myself gripped by the mystery of just what on earth is going on! The music hits well, and theres some jokes in there that caught me off-guard :) Thank you!
I already had my eye on this game for a while since seeing an earlier build of it at MCM London. And after seeing it was out, thought I would buy it and give it a quick go this afternoon.
However, couldn't stop playing the game, and went through it in a single sitting. That's not to say it's too short. I just happen to play the game for 7 hours straight until I saw the end. And I'm pretty sure there's more for me to go back and tick off.
The story was great. Was thoroughly invested in the writing, liked the characters, and it's all paced so well. The artwork was excellent. Particularly the full screen portraits of the characters while talking. I love playing indie games, but that's one area where they can sometimes feel a bit 'cheap' as the artwork doesn't always hit the mark, but in this it's incredible (One of the screens from the game is now my desktop background). Also can't say enough good things about the soundtrack either which compliments the game so well. Would gladly have it playing in the background while working as it was so atmospheric, and never started to feel repetitive.
From looking at the credits, it's hard to believe that the amount of content, writing, artwork, music, sfx ( I could go on ) can be achieved by just a couple of people.
Haven't been this gripped by an Indie game in a VERY long time.

i saw the advert for Switch store and pretty much immediately knew i wanted it hehe
and well, it doesn't disappoint in the least!
the story, arts, and music are all fantastic~ as is usual for me i did kinda personally prefer the antagonists - the Girl in the Fox Mask in particular, as is shown in the promotional video, i immediately just... up my alley soooo much hehe. i LOVE avenger-type charas!
also, the whole mask theme is suuuper cool, and the occult feel is done fantastically
i especially adore chapter 2 and the final chapter, as well as all of the chapter climaxes!
the battle system is pleasantly forgiving - namely, charas never die in battle unless already at 1hp when attacked, so you don't have to worry about being wiped really - the only game over i ever got was because i purposely threw the fight to see what would happen ehehe
the chara outfit selection was quite cool too~

I've just finished playing this game and it was INCREDIBLE? The visuals were absolutely gorgeous, I adored the character movements, it reminds me of paper dolls and it was beautifully done. The colour choices and general aesthetic of the game are absolutely Breathtaking as well? The character designs are all absolutely gorgeous, both visually and personality wise, and I found myself falling in love with these characters Very quickly.
Each level had its own unique Thing and you never knew what to expect until it was there, and I adored that about it. Some areas were more unsettling than others, but they were all Incredibly immersive locations? They were all Vastly different whilst still keeping some of that aesthetic of the game and city itself, and it was done so well!
And the SOUND design! I am a slut for a good sound design, I can talk for hours about it, and this game does it so well? The second location was Incredible for that in particular, but the whole game is just Gorgeous???? And the story line too, it's amazing! There are some things you could figure out for yourself and it was so satisfying to do so and have that moment of realisation, other things were entirely unexpected and left me sitting here processing.
The combat system is Really fun as well! Although a very common rpg format, it's given it's own little bit of uniqueness in the menus for each character, and although a small detail it's one I found really cool!
The only possible criticism I have for this game is lack of guidance in a few areas. You're thrown into the combat system without any guidance, although it is very easy to get into the swing of things. There was also one quest quite early game that I struggled to complete due to this, however its only something that cropped up once or twice and doesn't detract from this game whatsoever.
All in all, I would 100% recommend this game, and plan on playing through it again to 100% it!
Hex Mortis is a great little unique Horror themed RPG with a great personality to it.
Has a great story pace to it, as well as great characters in your party. Some unique NPC you'll find around the levels.
Boss fights are very creative and interesting to fight. Lovely art design for the bosses and enemies as well making each boss unique in there own way. Fair few different type of enemies to fight.
The developers did a solid job on this RPG and well worth a play. So give it a try and enjoy the game like I did.
