Peripeteia is a first-person game mixing shooter, stealth and RPG mechanics, placing it within the elusive and ephemeral "immersive sim" genre, heavily inspired by the greats such as Deus Ex, it expands upon the formula with original ideas and an unexplored alternative history post-soviet setting.
Marie is a free agent employed by a multinational mercenary company, looking for fortune in the Desputed Zone. She is a one-woman army, enhanced with cybernetic implants and granted autonomy by her employer - free to make alliances with any faction and complete her assignments at her own discretion. She's capable of both great compassion, completing her missions without killing anybody, and great cruelty - leaving no soul behind. Different approaches yield favors from different employers, of course. But there's more to her identity than just being a merc and half-machine. She spends her time off in solitude, drinking Earl Grey and taking care of her cactus collection.

It is a good skeleton of a game that could have been, but wont be, because it was abandoned by the developers after one of two of them mentally broke down over Signalis fan-art.

TOP GAME
Once you get past its jank and quirks, Peripeteia is a joy to get lost in.
The Good:
Peripeteia shines in its art direction and atmosphere. The dystopian Soviet cyberpunk setting pairs perfectly with the retro game design. Constant pelting rain, looming green haze, and a breakcore soundtrack quickly sell a world that feels far larger and more alive than it actually is.
Moment-to-moment gameplay is also strong, with a real sense of freedom and hackability in how you approach sections. Movement and gunplay are well above average, and for once I found myself actually enjoying inventory management.
The Bad:
The biggest issues I have with the game are the NPCs and the writing.
Immersion is often broken by the lack of natural NPC pathing, making them feel like static developer-placed props rather than characters actually living and moving through the world.
Their dialogue and lore dumping also feel cluttered and unrealistic. NPCs frequently share information that a real person in the situation probably wouldn’t, and the lore often reads like “cool ideas” quickly written into the game rather than something that organically grows from a core theme or narrative.
Additionally, the audio mixing is terrible when it comes to gunplay. As soon as you're spotted the enemies open fire, sometimes even through walls, at a hearing damage inducing volume.
Overall, the game would benefit from a stronger focus on getting the storytelling fundamentals right, allowing the lore to drip-feed naturally instead of presenting loosely connected ideas scattered throughout. As well as generally improving level and progression design.

I have zero clue what I'm doing 90% of the time. I played this about a week after it dropped, suffered no gameplay issues whatsoever. I never followed any kind of development or developer talk for this game, I just found it. The directionless gameplay the game is made out of provides tons of exploration opportunity especially with the movement and mechanics of the stealth gameplay. Overall a fun shooter/stealth game and a pretty decent time sink if you don't use a guide. Still haven't beaten it. thinking about trying again later though, very polished game despite the size of the world and it hasn't changed since I first played it for about a six hour sitting.
This game is seemingly dead. I wouldn't suggest buying this until there's another update THIS YEAR.

This game is honestly the jankiest, most confusing mess I've ever had the grace of exploring. When the game decides to work, it's a pretty good time. When it doesn't, it's improper audio mixing on a garage door that leads to ear piercing noises, or wasting hours trying to figure out where to go. The core fundamentals of the game is good, but it's weighed down by a lot of slavjank.
Most likely abandonware.

Несмотря на всю поломанность и невероятную способность баговаться эта игра вызвала истинный восторг. Очень давно не испытывал таких эмоций, какие подарила эта игра. У перипетии очень вязкая атмосфера футуризма, от которой таки несёт "неправильностью" происходящего - начиная с поехавших персонажей и их поступков, заканчивая монструозной архитектурой, 90% которой не имеет особой пользы и смысла для рядового обитателя гипергорода. В целом, по вышедшим уровням уже примерно можно выстроить предположительную линию истории, однако очень интересно, что нам подготовят разработчики и чем же в действительности кончатся похождения Мари по перипетиям судьбы.
Чуваки сотворят игру своей мечты, и их я полностью их в этом поддерживаю.
Hardly played anything else where wiping out entire organizations with cybernetics and bullets, all the way down to finding a nice view to stop at is this fun, along with everything in between.
The bugs never managed to kill my enjoyment of the game, and the atmosphere makes sure my wonder never fades.
There are currently 8 levels, one of which is called a tutorial but is quite honestly feature length, complete with the branching paths and possible outcomes each level has. If you played the demo and wanted more, congratulations, you have that much to look forward to, and more is being made this very moment.
With my hours played, I have yet to find everything there is to see, but I know I will love every second of it.
A very, very impactful game
The atmosphere is probably the best one ive ever seen, thats indisputable how dreadful it is while being beautifully industrial and soviet-styled which to me is beautiful
The urban landscape feels so different even when its based on so many things, they did such a great job with it
The gameplay's great, inventory management and gunplay feels good while being difficult, it's got a pretty good story with a lot of characters that you can actually feel they have something different about, even in early access, with so little choices, you can still get somewhat attached to them
It's kind of beautiful just how attached you can get to Marie, her goals something that you want to achieve and its an awesum mystery
And an amazing ost, but since its in early access its not like i can write a full-on review, i just hope the games finished soon

The game is about average in its genre, pretty unpolished in its physics, controls, jank, enemies seeing and shooting through walls, etc. and has a decent setting. However, the game is dead and has not had an update in eons. This alone does not warrant a poor review.
What does however warrant a poor review is that many if not all of its devs engage in doxxing others, promotes racism, is a transphobe/homophobe, has stated plans to hire high school bullies of critical reviewers to ♥♥♥♥ with them, there are allegation of spyware, allegations of grooming, etc. If you trawl the other reviews or community you'll find a lot of discussion on this.

когда игра только вышла все вроде работало нормально. запустил в начале 2026-какие то баги с интерфейсом, окна менюшек то не закрываются, то друг на друга накладываются, захват предметов в самой игре вообще работать перестал. подумал может из за фпс, потыкал все настройки, на 5 минут вроде починилось но потом опять багать начало. хз короче

I thought I wasted 2h because NPC's at the end of tutorial started going to the metro and I couldnt see them at the bar.
Map is way too big with the lack of guidance.

I liked the small details like blurry vision when getting a lot of head damage and I love the Graphic, music, mechanics and characters.
I would recommend trying peripeteia for urself but there are signs the game got abandoned :C + lack of response about the Ouroboros is just weird

A great game with lots of potential. I like this game, a lot, but I cant recommend it to you when I don't even know if the devs still with it. I know the dev has a discord channel for the game, maybe they post stuff over there, but your not getting me to put up with spy ware, privacy leaks, and discord mods. As a steam user the game looks dead, I want to be wrong so ill be sure to change this when a minor update comes out.
Game felt very unique. Amazing athmosphere and a nice freedom of to do what you want. Really excited for more future content. Highly recommend getting this game

- BREAKCORE ДУЦ ДУЦ ДУЦ ДУЦ (который включается в определенных зонах)
- Изучать шизоидные уровни было очень прикольно и интересно (я хз почему). Уровни нереально огромные и полупустые, иногда видны стыки когда разраб на поxyй лепил полы, стены и другие объекты, можно иногда упасть за текстуры. ЛЮБОПЫТНОЙ ВАРВАРЕ НА БАЗАРЕ БРЕЙКОР ПРОДАВАЛИ.
- необычный постапок сеттинг про совок, поляков и других челиков FEAT киберипланты FEAT deus ex moments FEAT иммерсив сим
- игру реально можно пройти в своем стиле, как я понял на каждую локацию несколько варианций концовок (ОГО)
- в какой-то момент начинается шизофазия с мясом кишками и матюками - это ок
КАКИЕ МИНУСЫ
- туповатый ИИ местами просто как идиотики бегают вверх смотрят
- на последних уровнях замучался бегать по полупустым локациям, но негатива в целом нет, сеттинг и в целом игра оставляет крутые эмоции
TL;DR
Игра прикольная. Есть свой уникальный вайбик, не то что современные AAAAA игры которые уже лет 10 под копирку методичек делают. Короче респект за необычную темку я поиграл с кайфом реально прям как ребенок залип с сонными глазам ползая по текстурам этой игры.
Из удивительного я только 1 раз запорол себе прохождение когда всех убил, я думал я вообще эту игру не пройду но только разок попал в состояние хз че делать, возможно я мог как-то пройти еще но я во первых не нашел гайдов на эту локацию, во вторых не смог понять как самому взорвать вышку... (террафлопс не удался, есть шанс что я туповат просто).

Pro: Lot's of freedom, Dynamic scenarios, Challenging content, Encourages creative problem solving, beefy guns, creepy elevator neighbor
Cons: Controls - God, some of it feels so jank and in a "this is dogwater" kind of way (i.e. dragging boxes and trying to stack them. Man that physics is kinda hell) , Steep learning curve (to get used to mechanics mostly)
TLDR: Fun gameplay hindered by jank, I mean JANK controls and mechanics. However, not enough that it tarnishs the overall experience. Recommend for those looking for some challenge and explorations. Of note however, definitely take into account the artstyle. I know some people don't like it, and that's fair.
Peripeteia is an amazing game, and has a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. I can't wait to see what's next.

От серьёзного углубления в игру останавливают проблемы с сохранениями и общая недоделанность проекта. Однако стиль мне нравится. Верю в лучшее, надеюсь на лучшее, желаю разрабам довести своё творение до полноценного релиза.

Current state of the game is unbearable. Hasn't been an update in many moons. As cool as the game comes across when you actually have to interact with it it's rough. Many people have already written reviews that detail the flaws of this game such as the pointlessly massive and empty environs and clunky and time wasting inventory ammo management. The way the game actively encourages you to save scum because of how quickly something can bug out or an enemy will detect you in a weird way. Hacking also seems to require a save scum. I hope to one day take control of Marie again and step into a complete and less buggy game. Honestly at this point if I could get my money back I would.
One of my favorite games of all time, An indescribable Aesthetic, Somber and calm but also lonely. Its such a unique feeling.
Peripeteia is a fantastic idea for a game and it's a very atmosphereic and immersive experience. But it's currently held back by many bugs and jank.
