По сравнению со следующей частью немного шероховатая, но тем не менее очень интересная и крепкая ролевка. Если хочется интересных заданий и сюжета выбирайте сложность поменьше. А, если вы любитель подрочить на циферки и закидываться всеми баффами перед боем с одной крысой, то соответственно выбирайте более высокую сложность. Управление королевством, по крайней мере лично мне показалось интересной частью геймплея, не советую его отключать

Só recomendado aos mais viciados, pois todos os jogos da Owlcat são extremamente complicados, focados em QUANTIDADE em vez de qualidade, sempre tem um "mini"jogo entediante de gerenciamento de reino/exército. E mesmo assim, as partes de mais alta qualidade são sempre um pouco inferiores à competição e é claro, são muito mais infrequentes.

O foco em quantidade afeta quase tudo no(s) jogo(s) e nenhuma vez para o melhor:
- A campanha é gigante, sem foco e estruturada em Arcos como um anime.
- Toda conversa é gigante. Até com "NPC comerciante aleatório #5000". É preciso focar só nas conversas que te atraem e mesmo assim ainda haverá MUITA leitura. (Mais até que em Pillars of Eternity 1)
- Os mapas são tão gigantes que te fazem desejar que seus personagens se movessem mais rápido apesar de isso já existir no jogo...
- Mapas gigantes precisam ser preenchidos com alguma coisa: MUITAS armadilhas uma atrás da outra, MUITOS baús cheios de lixo e MUITAS lutas com "trash mobs" (inimigos fáceis), simplesmente um monte de lobos ou aranhas copiados e colados por toda parte.
- Explorar o mapa-mundí na maioria das vezes só te leva a mais "trash mobs" ou lutas com níveis e estatísticas exageradas...
- Nos Pathfinder você pode se buffar em qualquer lugar, em vez de apenas após o início da luta, o que significa que toda santa vez que entrar em um mapa é preciso passar vários MINUTOS apertando em habilidades para buffar cada um dos seus personagens. E é claro, são dezenas de buffs, a maioria é de alvo-único e de duração curta, então terá de repetir parte do processo já alguns minutos depois.
(Ao menos na dificuldade Normal você reduz um pouco o processo focando só nos buffs mais impactantes e jogando o resto fora.)

A qualidade da escrita varia de "um pouco melhor que genérico" à "escrito pela estagiária feminista"...

Todos os jogos da Owlcat tem desempenho horrível em qualquer máquina.

O que quase salva esses jogos são as várias opções de dificuldade que lhe permitem desativar algumas coisas irritantes ou entediantes. Mas, como jogador novo, você, é claro, quer experimentar o jogo todo, o que te leva à umas dezenas de horas de irritação e chatice até você descobrir o que gosta ou não, e finalmente desativar nas configurações.

Se for jogar, jogue o "Wrath of the Righteous", o melhor. Na dificuldade Normal, focando só naquilo que realmente lhe interessa e desative o "mini"jogo de gerenciamento já no começo ou assim que perceber que não gosta (Wokeless Wrath mod recomendado).
Ou é melhor (re)jogar Pillars of Eternity 1 e 2 e Dragon Age: Origins mesmo.

This one is a definitive recommend from me, but not for someone unfamiliar with RPGs with a group of characters, better start with some lighter ones first.

Why? This one is like the grand group RPG among others. You can turn off some of the stuff, automatic kingdom management, automatic party level up, premade build(s). That should leave only quests but all together it's a big game. It is engaging enough and I enjoyed it but it really feels like managing a kingdom with the busy work and then you need to personally handle some threats. I didn't want to turn some of the part off so it's on me.

The busy work around kingdom can feel unnecessary at times but overall I kinda enjoyed it for its immersion. It's not over the top in my opinion. But managing a lot of stuff on many levels has a considerable disadvantage, loading screens. Build a building? Load management, load city, exit city, exit management, etc. At a certain point it felt like a Bugthesda game. Do I really need to do that as it's 2-4 loading screens away?

I don't have much time to play games and my game sessions never exceed 2 hours nowadays and this game fits this kind of gameplay well. I feel like longer session would be too draining for all the lore, conversations and decisions. Also given the amount of content and fillers some might say, I don't even remember at this point playing other game. Make your own mind about this.

What bugged me is that some things are made in a way where first time player will have harder time. Like a quest that become hard due to timer started when progressing in a wrong time. Knowing in advance when to progress some quest will easily avoid such situation. Or when to focus on exploring and pushing certain quests despite many problems in a kingdom. Some locations, mainly early game, are simply not meant to be visited when you discover them. How do you know? Try and fail, reload, and give up. Also some maps or dungeons suffer from backtracking. Nearly end game dungeon almost made me quit.

This game feels to me a lot more difficult. There are so many buffs you can take and the game is clearly balanced around it. I rather lowered the difficulty and ignored the buffs as it felt like yet another additional layer of the game to learn and manage.

Is that all? No. Two modes of combat, action or turn based. Of course, more to learn! Nah, I kept the action one, the fights were a mess, but felt immersed. Turn based felt like an additional chore. Maybe it will make fights easier? Nah, playing on easy already and the game is long as it is.

Lol it's funny cuz I haven't acatually played like at all... 49 hours... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, man... It took me forever to make a character to say the least, but I finally just started my game with a drow wizard and I'm content. I'm logging back in now to use my Xbox controller... You can't use mods with it... You have to use keyboard and mouse to use any of the mods, but they have a few good ones... Really all I'm using right now I think is Races Unleashed and maybe Call of the Wilds or Bag of Tricks, but so far it's basically just the drow race that I'm using. Oh and I'm using a spider summoner feat that is drow racial so that had to have come with one of the mods (obviously...) but over all so far, I highly recommend this game. It's like a modern infinity engine game but with way better graphics. I got both Pathfinder games recently and 4 infinity engine games enhanced edition remakes, which is super cool. Right now I'm playing Pathfinder Kingmaker and Planescape Torment. I very much so enjoy both. If you like Dungeons & Dragons then you will most likely like Pathfinder. I do now.

I can get passed the most god awful writing/voice acting I've ever come across. Everyone sounds like an AI chatbot, especially Linzi, who you have to deal with a lot. But the fact that you can't rotate the camera without a mouse is diabolical. No playing on the go if you don't have a middle click, and they decided that should be the one setting you can't edit. It's an absolute dealbreaker for me. How did NWN get it right twenty years ago, but Owlcat struggles with basic controls?

I grew up on Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Temple of Elemental Evil, and so forth. This game feels like a massive improvement to that formula. I'd recommend this to anyone that loves those type of RPGs.

I love this style of RPG game. Its got the feel and spirit of the Balder's Gate 1 & 2 Games we all loved getting a D&D fix from, only better. Owlcat did an amazing job bringing this world to life. Surprisingly enough they even made improvements to the game style with Wrath of the Righteous after they released this game. Then they took some of those improved features and reapplied new things to this game.
If you love RPG games and haven't bought or played this & Wrath of the Righteous...you are doing yourself a disservice. Everyone please purchase these and show your love and support so maybe they make another one with these games style and feel.

Je vais dire "Oui, mais ..."

Le jeu est long, comptez une bonne centaine d'heure pour le finir, plus ou moins selon comment vous jouez.
L'histoire et les compagnons sont très bien écris et on voit des ramifications/conséquences de nos actions à des moments auxquels on ne s'y attend pas.

Par contre, le jeu ne vous prend pas par la main. Si vous n'êtes pas familier du système de jeu Pathfinder/DnD vous allez être noyés sous des termes techniques et des acronymes obscures.

Enfin, la difficulté (et le plaisir de jouer) font une courbe en cloche :

A) Au début du jeu, votre équipe est nulle (équipement minimaliste, aucune compétence spéciale, etc.) et il faudra parfois 3 ou 4 tours pour tuer une bestiole ou un bandit simplement parce que vous allez rater 80% de vos attaques.
B) Milieu du jeu, vous êtes bien équipé, compétent, tout va bien (sauf quand vous enchaînez les échecs critiques de façon mathématiquement improbable ...) et vous affrontez les adversaires sur un pied d'égalité.
C) La fin du jeu a manqué de me faire abandonner. Les ennemis "Chasse sauvage" sont en surnombre, immunisés au froid (alors que c'était ma meilleure source de dégâts), disposent d'un Fear de masse et de Paralysie de masse. Regarder mes persos immobiles ou s'enfuyant pendant des tours et des tours pendant qu'ils se font laminer, ça n'est pas amusant.

Dans les points forts, je parlerai de "l'effet de groupe"; contrairement à Baldur Gate 3, par exemple, c'est toujours le personnage le plus compétent pour une tâche qui fera le jet.
Il y a aussi le fait que le temps passe, vous obligeant à camper régulièrement, ce qui incite à user plus largement de ses emplacements de sort, plutôt que de les garder "au cas où" et ne jamais le faire.

La gestion du royaume est simple à comprendre mais difficile à appliquer, tant on se fait bombarder de crises, malédictions et autres événements qui vous sollicitent sans cesse sans vous laisser le temps de renforcer vos ministres.

Vous aurez besoin de quantité absurde de pognon pour la gestion du royaume, je conseille de n'acheter que les sacs magiques, une arme de maître par perso et basta, gardez vos fonds pour acheter des PC.

Bref, c'est un très bon jeu, mais pas tendre avec les nouveaux venus. Je recommande fortement de jouer en mode personnalisé, afin d'avoir accès à le respécialisation de personnage et d'ajuster la difficulté des ennemis au début du jeu, quitte à la remonter plus tard si ça devient trop facile.

as someone who started with wotr and gave shot to kingmaker after playing wotr, its night and day, wotr is alot more polished and comfortable, story is significantly better, dialogue runs alot smoother, you can tilt your camera and icons are different enough to recognize by symbol rather than having to read everything. now this is probably not a bad game by any measure, but personally i dont like it as its rough around the edges and unpolished, other owlcat games are much better, as that is the case, id recommend to get w40k rogue trader or wotr over this.

Baldur’s Gate 3 made me want to try other CRPGs.

So I booted up Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

Within the first few hours, I realized something:
this game doesn’t want you to play.
It wants you to study.

I definitely failed the exam.

Then, just when you finally start to understand the system,
the game decides you also need to manage a kingdom.

Ok… that sounds cool. Let’s see:

Reading reports.
Waiting on timers.
Accumulating massive debt.
Reliving COVID, but this time it’s a flower plague.
Watching my advisors fail rolls even when boosted with crisis points.

At that moment I realized something:

I’m not playing an RPG.

I’m doing an unpaid internship
in medieval administration.

And yes… I ended up simping for a plant that doesn’t care about me.

But even my botanical obsession
can’t blind me to this dumpster fire.

Loved it. I played Wrath of the Righteous first and then this game. I have to say, I really enjoyed the story. The voice acting is awesome. Nyrissa is voice acted by the wonderful Amelia Tyler (BG3 narrator). Other than that, what can I say except: if you played WOTR and Rogue Trader and enjoy Owlcat's RPGs, then you will enjoy this one as well. In comparison with WOTR, the class system is a little more simplistic and the Kingdom Management doesn't have conquest mode (armies) but make no mistake, this is a massive game. My only complaint is that I did not enjoy kingdom management as much as I did in WOTR: the amounts of projects/cards you get is crazy and most of them you can't implement (because of time) so it's just a matter of focusing on problems and some relevant buffs or story-driven events that you should complete as soon as possible. WOTR's kingdom management + crusade mode was way more entertaining for me. All that being said, I really enjoyed the game and would recommend it to any cRPGs lovers out there.

Pros:
The art style in this game is incredible, my absolute favourite. Love the colourful character portraits, design, models and world. So many fantasy games try to be edgy and dark and this game thankfully avoids that trend entirely. The music tracks by Inon Zur are INCREDIBLE. Love it, reminds me of Icewind Dale 2. Though I figured out how to replace most of the battle music in the game. Luckily it's not too hard, just a matter of replacing the WEM files. Replaced the battle music with tracks from Lost Odyssey, Shadow Hearts, Last Remnant, and the Temple Of Elemental Evil. The battle music for the game is ok, it's just nothing special in my book.
Not having to worry about corruption mechanics, exploration is alot more fun in this game then in Wrath which I beat first. Also of course the natural wilderness of the stolen lands is a lot more enjoyable to look at then the wasteland of the worldwound in my opinion. As a result I'd say this is a better looking game overall then Wrath despite coming out earlier.
Gameplay wise I could play as a half druid half ranger who turned into a Godzilla size elemental so yeah, absolutely incredible. The complexity of Pathfinder enables you to have a truly unique character if your willing to learn the rules. I strongly reccomend installing the Call Of The Wild mod for this game for a ton of added classes, archetypes and feats. I also used a buff bot and respec mod and actually had a few completely different character builds in a single playthrough cause I can't stick with any build. Heck with it being such a long game, coming up with new character builds kept inspiring me to come back.
Something I absolutely LOVE with this game is the developer really going the extra mile to offer you dialog options that account for all of the alignments in Pathfinder. One of my builds was an antipaladin where I had to maintain my mean streak and some of the evil dialog options were AMAZING.
There's an incredible mod for this game called Bag Of Tricks which let's you basically do anything you want and have fun. It can let you implement feats or races mechanically that aren't in the game. There is a mod called Visual Adjustments which let's you use any character model in the game for yourself. I gave my character a lizardfolk appearance, then using Bag Of Tricks I gave myself natural claw weapons and a bite attack to mechanically play as a Lizardfolk rules as written. Later when I went for my final huge elemental build I used Bag Of Tricks to basically implement the Shaping Focus feat for my character even though it wasn't technically available by giving myself the final level 12 wildshape abilities once I was a 8 druid 4 ranger.
Cons:
The kingdom management is pretty lame. It's got less going on then even the Dynasty Warriors Empires games. My experience was that it was super boring and then a rival kingdom actively started working against me in the late game and suddenly my advisors became completely incompetent and had literally zero percent chance of succeeding at any events for whatever reason. Absolute crap, might as well have turned it off from the get go.
Another nasty that rears it's ugly head in the late game is pre-buffed enemies, and not only that all their buffs are permanent. So you have to do the same where you have to sit there before every encounter watching the same spellcasting animations as you apply like a dozen buffs to compete with the enemies. Was forced to install the buff bot. Enemies should only be pre-buffed when they successfully ambush you. Otherwise it doesn't make sense and it feels like the enemies are cheating.

Having played Baldurs Gate 1, 2 and 3 and Pillars of Eternity, I consider this game the best CRPG among them.

The story is very good and the companions feel alive. The fact that you can place them as your personal advisors in the kingdom management process gives the feeling that they are a part of the world, not just some random resources to help you when it is convenient.

I didnt enjoy the kingdom management and the feeling of being pressured by time, even though it was never really an issue. I think the game could have done without it and still be a great game.

I am very familiar with the D&D 3.5 tabletop system but it still took me 200+ hours to get through the first ending, due to me restarting after learning how the game worked and how to manage the time efficiently. I only did all the achievements from the base game, since I dont have any DLCs.

The game is SUPER difficult on the higher difficulty settings and I did 3 playthroughs to get all the trophies:

1) Challenging difficulty.
2) Last Azlanti on Story difficulty (was very quick since you are basically immortal if you play a dwarf + Steel Soul talent).
3) Unfair difficulty.

The game on Unfair is a completely different game and, in my opinion, it was not fun.

All in all, I loved the game, I recommend it for CRPG fans and I am very excited to play the 2nd game!

in addition to my 43 hours on steam, ive played 211 hours on gog. in that time, ive restarted my run several times due to bugs hard locking me. i enjoy the game, its setting, most of the mechanics, but holy f they need to fix the game. as it is now, at least what i experienced, kingmaker is nothing more than practice for wrath of the righteous and rogue trader or a tech demo. the moral system is garbage, its the most basic moral system you could make and some of the "good/lawful" choices have you killing or being rude. like they took a look at the stereotype paladin / noble and said thats exactly how we should make good/lawful. if you dont encounter soul crushing bugs forcing you to restart, the game is a lot of fun and makes a rather nice kingdom builder with story and combat mixed in. however, you should probably just buy wrath as its better. although i didnt complete it, i also didnt encounter any bug blocking process or simply annoying me.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a broken mess of an adaptation of a broken mess of a tabletop system.
Pathfinder is fundamentally constructed with 50% strict adherence to mathematical formulae, 50% vibes, and the remainder actual consideration for balance and fun. I could write several paragraphs each complaining about feat taxes, move/standard/full actions, bonuses, enemies, and spell resistance, and I started to, but then I realized I have better things to do. I'll just say that it results in a system that is overly complicated and difficult to understand but also overly simple and repetitive to play.
Then, the CRPG is full of glitches, highly questionable design choices, and cases where it's hard to tell. You can look up the Kingmaker Bugfixes mod, and it doesn't address half the bugs I experienced playing the game. The thing that tipped me over the edge and made me put down the game for good was when the Empowered Magic Magus Arcana straight-up did not function.
There are things to like about the game, but to me, they cannot make up for how much of a confusing, unbalanced, buggy slog it ultimately is to play, and the pains only grow the further you progress.

Kingmaker is an incredible game, for sure. While it may not be quite as good as Wrath of the Righteous or Rogue Trader, as Owlcat's debut game, it is still fantastic and definitely worth playing.

Personally, I would recommend playing WOTR or RT first, as they improve significantly upon the gameplay, story, sound, and overall experience. However, if you've already played those, I highly recommend picking up Kingmaker too

So I think the important thing to know is that this i a game based off a table top campaign... so expect a "board game" feel when you are playing it... especially while traversing the map with your little horse token.

And just like you might prepare your character/party in advance of starting out on a table top (or pen/paper) campaign, the same sort of preparation will go a long way to save you some "frustration"...

1) This is not stitched together zones that flow like Pillars of Eternity or Planscapre Torment... there are definitely some areas that do have that feel (i.re. 3 layer deep map with dungeon), but expect a good portion of encounters to take place as random events in some rather small/empty zones... like a table top game

2) Once you complete Act 1, prepare for Kingdom Management... another "random event" type activity that requires you to be at your Capitol or Oleg's Camp. The events have known times for completion, so look for a "sweet spot" of having your advisors busy for a week or two that you can "safely" go adventuring, exploring, completing quests, etc... It is a bit of a time (and resource) balance juggle that you may not be used to from other video games... but may be from table top games.

3) Another aspect of Kingdom Management is your advisors... think of them as you little minions that you sent out on the events (including projects) you choose to do (mentioned above)... advisors can be party memebers or not. Just review your events before you commit any advisors, check their time commitments, which advisor(s) can assist, and make a decision of who to send based on these factors. Also important to note that can attributes impact how successful your advisors are... so if you are using "companions" taht are not in your party as an advisor... make sure to level up your advisors too!

4) Another aspect of Kingdom Management is acquiring new lands and building towns / cities on them... kind of like a mini "Sim City". Pay attention to which building combinations synergize... and be careful not to over invest your resoutces too quickly.

If you still find yourself struggling, you may need to look at some guides / walkthroughs. There are a few systems in play that may feel a bit overwhelming at first... but once you grasp the concepts, they all flow pretty naturally.

I'm only in Act 2, so if I run into something important over my playthrough I'll make sure to update this review. I restarted after being fasced with some of my mistakes after about 30-35 hours... so I'm only about 40 hours into the game so far... and really just scratching the surface.

I can understand some of the reviews frustration with the game because I was felling it too... so as I've stated already this is more a "video representation of a board game" so don't expect it to interact with it exactly like the other video games you've played.

Hopefully what I've shared here properly frames your expectations and helps you decide if this is a game you would like to play.

Don't waste your time. It is not a dnd adventure you can do on your own, like we hoped. It is only a math quiz, and you have to choose all the right characters and spells and gear, just to have a chance on normal.

To be clear, fighting and tactics are not difficult. It plays like every AI driven tactical turn driven combat game, in the sense that the ai-opponent doesn't use any tactics...your job is to be less stupid than they are.

No, the problem with this game is its name; Pathfinder Kingmaker. It bills itself as the computer game version of the dnd campaign, and yet fails in every way to live up to the name. No choices really necessary. Just obey the math, choose the exact right things, and you'll be fine.

If you choose to play the game ANY OTHER WAY, you will fail, and be made to feel bad about failing because ALL of this happens on 'normal' difficulty.

Just would like to say, the creators of this game gave a direct middle finger to every player who ever loved this campaign.

Overall it's a fun game, but a little rough around the edges.

- You need to know D&D rules, you can't wing it like BG3.
- The start is brutal, don't be afraid to run from fights during levels 1 to 3.
- The base building is pretty jank. You can't rotate buildings, so be mindful about placing 2x1 buildings.

There are a lot of positive things to say about the game, but these were the small things that kind of bugged me.

A good story by current story-telling standards in RPGs (which are very low). The companions are fairly believable characters who develop pretty well and hold your interest, especially the gnome sidekick, an actual classic RPG character. The kingdom management is a good mechanic that keeps your interest but doesn't overburden the game with tedious chores.
The game plays and develops a little slowly for my tastes. The character development system has multiple broken components often because rules are not implemented properly (1 level of monk, for example, to add wisdom to AC is almost a mandatory min/max design decision for many classes or 1 level of vivisectionist is obvious power up for almost any melee build, which makes character designs repititive, simple, and somewhat ridiculous: everyone is partly a monk or vivisectionist, even the local paladin).
With a good mod or two (Call of the Wild and Cleaner) and little self-restraint or set of house rules on character construction (such as "only vivisectionists can be vivisectionists") the game plays pretty well. The difficulty scaling is also broken with enemies being much more difficult at the beginning on higher difficulties, but not much more difficult later one. Again, though, there is a mod that fixes this issue to some extent.
Best isometric CRPG to come out for some time.

This game is ROUGH... Clunky, annoying, QoL nightmare, and feels like you're fighting yourself half the time to feel some proper progress. But something about it makes me want to play more. I know I'll SUFFER. But I genuinely want to replay the game again. I wish that the developers would take this as a remaster/remake project for the start of the 2030s. If this gets tinkered and the story gets flushed out. It could be a genuine gem.
I am giving a recommend because if I had to go back in time and tell myself before playing if he should or shouldn't. I'd say yes. There's passion here.

1) Kingdom manegment is clunky, but you can set to 'invincible' and not change the difficulty.
2) It is a complex and hard game; hard means hard and unfair means unfair. Don't play on high difficulty if on first playthrough and/or vey familiar with D&D3e/Pathfinder. The game DOES NOT handhold you.

As someone with no familiarity with the Pathfinder universe, I initially approached this game as just a video game, focusing mainly on the gameplay. That was a mistake.

If you’ve decided to play this game, get ready to read. This game is basically a book disguised as a game... and a very good one.

During my first experience, I took my time with character creation. I downloaded a bunch of new portraits and honestly must have spent around three hours there alone. I created at least five different characters before finally settling on a Paladin.

When the game started, however, I skipped through most of the dialogue. I barely read anything and tried to play it as a dungeon crawler. The gameplay isn’t necessarily bad, but in this day and age, if you’re playing this game purely for the gameplay, there are far better alternatives. I quickly found it boring and gave up. Later, I discovered that one of the DLCs includes what is essentially a roguelike mode. I tried that as well, but it still didn’t click with me.

Some time passed, and I decided to give the game one last chance. This time, I made a commitment to read everything: every line of dialogue, every piece of lore. That’s when the game finally clicked.

This isn’t just a video game, it’s a book! It feels like the old Fighting Fantasy series by Steve Jackson, but set in the Pathfinder system and universe. Once I realized that, everything made sense. You’re supposed to sit down to play this game the same way you sit down to read a novel.

That’s when the battles become far more meaningful, the world comes alive, and the whole experience becomes much more enjoyable.

So if you’re considering playing this game, take my advice and play it as an interactive book. Otherwise, you might end up with a mediocre dungeon crawler built on the Pathfinder system, which can feel quite dull at times. Your character sheet will just float there like a soulless Excel spreadsheet, full of numbers and equations you don’t fully understand, attached to disposable characters that might as well be faceless silhouettes.

Of course, maybe that is your thing, and in that case you’ll probably enjoy the Beneath the Stolen Lands DLC quite a lot. I just think that if that’s the experience you’re looking for, there are other games out there that focus on it and do it better.

3. Нативная поддержка Линукса - установил на офисный пылесос.
4. Цена - взял за три копейки на новый год.

Минусы:
1. Движок Unity и всё из этого вытекающее.
2. ДнД механики, как по мне - избыточно задротские. Хотя тут на вкус и цвет. В целом, разобраться было интересно, но лучше бы я это время потратил на игру, а не на "ща, вот ещё один баф накину, и тогда точно перестану промахиваться". А в итоге половина игрового времени - это попытка нае#ать богов рандома рутинным накидыванием всевозможных увеличителей пипирки, а если и они не помогают - то и сейв-скамом.
3. Самый жирный минус, имхо - здешняя система тайм-менеджмента. Хотелось покататься по миру, закрыть все второстепенные квесты, прокачать королевство на максимум, пощупать самый жирный лут, потестить его в драках. Но вместо этого в какой-то момент игра просто швыряет тебя в концовку, со словами "заканчивай уже, задрот!". И ты такой встаёшь, отряхиваешься, а на тебя сверху сыпется куча уведомлений "квест провален", и ты понимаешь - всё, это финишная прямая, и обратной дороги нет. Глупо, как по мне. Прям фу. К чему эта спешка? Я понимаю, она объяснена сюжетно, но стоило ли оно того? Перфекциониста во мне это прям обидело, и сильно смазало впечатление как от концовки, так и от всей игры в целом.

Very good game with excellent writing, storytelling and voiceacting.
It is pathfinder, the system is very deep and complicated which may not appeal to everyone as you might see from the reviews.
But even if you don't enjoy going through all the abilities and modifiers from it you can also lower the difficulty to your taste and just enjoy the story and narrative choices.
If you like narrative driven rpgs this is a very good one.

Vraiment ce studio ce sont des bons, entre rogue traders et celui là, des tueurs du rpg.
Incroyable que leurs productions ne soient pas plus connues. Le mystère des hypes.
En tout cas foncez les yeux fermés.
Niveau lore, scénario, mécaniques rpg c'est juste parfait. La construction de royaume est pas mal foutu aussi.
Après le jeu n'est pas sans défaut, mais ça reste léger et ça ne gache pas le plaisir de jeu.
Ici contrairement à BG3, vos décisions comptent vraiment. C'est presque dommage de pouvoir "cheater" avec les quicksaves.

拥王者这段旅程，最初的冒险阶段是我最投入也最享受的部分，那时的游戏更像是一场由玩家推动的冒险，真的有在跑团的感觉。然而，当成为男爵，王国管理系统正式上线之后，整体体验开始发生转折，原本专注于探索的重心被不断弹出的事件打断，节奏从主动探索变成了疲于奔命，这种转变让前期的冒险沉浸感逐渐消散。进入后期，问题愈发明显，堆怪现象开始严重，敌人强度与数量明显上升，但战斗的趣味性却未能同时提升，很多遭遇更像是故意消耗时间。尤其是最后两章，流程显得格外冗长，战斗密度高、地图又臭又长、叙事推进相对缓慢，让人有种在终点前被迫拉长赛程的感觉。尽管如此，当一切尘埃落定，看着同伴们都平安活了下来（琳翠……应该算活了吧），我还是感到释然，虽然结局并非我心目中最理想的结局，瓦尔瑞的恋爱线也没能推进下去，但至少这支队伍从最初的乌合之众一路走到最后，没有人倒下。回望整段旅程，拥王者带给我的并不是一个流畅的游戏体验，甚至大部分时间我都十分烦躁，但对于喜欢老派CRPG的爱好者来说，它是值得走完的冒险。

Very much recommend! My only negative comment would be on the pacing of the main quest. I understand this is to allow time to manage the kingdom, but this can become a repetitive cycle of 90% Kingdom Management/10% Questing, then flipped vice versa.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is an unpolished gem. It has a lot of depth and ambition, but also clear flaws. There are still bugs, and some encounters feel unfair — especially if you don’t fully understand the Pathfinder system.

Even as someone who plays a lot of CRPGs, this game punished me hard for not knowing the rules well enough. It does not hold your hand. If you’re new to Pathfinder mechanics, don’t be afraid to look up guides and follow character builds for both your main character and companions. It genuinely makes the experience much smoother.

The biggest issue for me is the companion AI. It’s honestly pretty brain-dead. For most of the game it’s manageable, but when the difficulty spikes in later chapters, it becomes a real problem. You have to micromanage everything to survive, which can be exhausting.

That said, the game offers great depth, meaningful choices, strong build variety, and satisfying tactical combat once you understand the system. It’s not perfectly balanced, and it’s definitely not polished, but if you enjoy complex CRPGs and don’t mind doing some homework, there’s a lot to love here.

A solid 7/10 — frustrating at times, but rewarding if you’re willing to invest the effort.

BE WARNED, there is a lot of reading in this game. The Voice Acting have been front loaded into the game, while the rest means you will have to do a ton of reading.

Also, Pathfinder Kingmaker (PFK) feels more of a tutorial for the Pathfinder TTRPG than it does a video game. What saves the game is that its story is good. Not great, but good. However, the Pathfinder TTRPG can get overly complicated, hence would recommend playing the game on Easy mode, if you are not a fan of such complexity.

Also, be warned that you will come across "The Message" now and then. It is not "in your face", but "now and then" it is there.

Also, the isometric view is fixed. Other CRPG games (Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2, Sword Coast Legends, BG3) have spoiled me to a rotating isometric view.

Also, the Barony/Kingdom Management part of the game is overly complicated, which made it not fun part of the game.

Despite all these complaints, I do recommend the game. Otherwise save your money, if any of the above is a "dealbreaker" for you.

UPDATE: Before I rated this game as a "Recommend". Now that I am further in the game, there are elements that are REALLY FRUSTRATING, along with the Walls Of Text Reading, I NO LONGER recommend this game.

Let me warn you right away: this game does not entertain with light, casual progression. It delivers genuine hardcore. Character creation alone can take hours. With so many races, classes, archetypes, and build options, there is a lot to consider, and planning your progression in advance is practically mandatory. Choosing a high difficulty setting only makes sense if you fully understand the consequences. The very first battles can already push you into constant reloads and serious tension.

The game captures the feeling of the tabletop Pathfinder system remarkably well, while flawlessly handling all the underlying mathematics. Here, everything affects everything else, and the probability calculations are handled automatically. In many ways, this is a game about dice rolls and saving throws. You cannot even metaphorically "get out of bed" without them.

The core gameplay is a party-based RPG with real-time combat and tactical pause. Enemies are diverse, and it is common to encounter situations where your current party simply cannot handle them. Immunities, resistances, and vulnerabilities matter. Sometimes you push through. Sometimes you reload and rethink your party composition, equipment, or spell selection. On top of that, the game contains an enormous amount of high-quality writing. Dialogue plays a major role, and the roleplaying depth is impressive. Alignment, race, class, skills, companions, and past decisions can all influence outcomes.

There are many companions, and in my opinion not a single one feels truly dull. That is rare in games of this scale. Each of them has a personality, opinions, and a strong presence in conversations. They actively intervene in dialogue, which means party composition is not just about combat efficiency. It is also about narrative context. Bringing the right companion may unlock unique interactions or important story developments.

As in classic Dungeons & Dragons style systems, you need to rest frequently to recover strength and, most importantly, spell slots. Resting itself is implemented as a small management layer where you assign roles to companions. Someone cooks, someone stands guard, and so on. These choices affect buffs and debuffs after resting.

The game features hundreds of items, many with unique properties that may become crucial later. There are even more characters to interact with, making the world feel dense and reactive.

In structure and spirit, the game strongly resembles Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, but it is more complex and mechanically modern. Visually and tonally, however, it is somewhat less grim. Instead of focusing solely on demons and undead, one of the central threats comes from fey creatures and primal spirits. The colorful, almost fairy tale atmosphere is deceptive. The events are brutal and often cruel. Fey beings operate under entirely different moral rules. What may be a fleeting amusement for an immortal spirit can mean decades of suffering for mortals. This contrast is one of the game's strongest elements.

Beyond adventuring, the game introduces additional systems. There is a global map for exploration, similar to the tabletop experience. More importantly, at a certain point you begin managing your own kingdom. This is not a superficial side feature like in some other RPGs. The strength of your kingdom directly affects the ending. Only a powerful realm can withstand the final crises. A weak one will fall. Knowing this forces you into difficult compromises, since not every morally "good" decision strengthens the state.

Kingdom management involves resolving events in text-based scenarios, constructing settlements with synergistic buildings, and appointing advisors whose abilities directly influence the stability and political direction of the realm. You can also attract new inhabitants who later become part of your broader story experience.

If I had to mention a drawback, it would be the relative lack of variety in random encounter locations. However, this is a minor issue compared to the overall scope of the game.

It is surprisingly difficult to summarize a project of this scale. There is simply too much to cover. Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a large, ambitious, and uncompromising role-playing game in the truest sense of the term. I would recommend it to fans of Dungeons & Dragons and complex RPG systems. For a casual player, it may feel overwhelming due to the density of interconnected mechanics. Yet that complexity is exactly what gives the game its depth and flexibility. It is easy to make a series of mistakes that negatively impact your playthrough, whether through inefficient character builds or poor kingdom decisions. But if you accept that risk as part of the design, the game rewards you with an extraordinary level of freedom and choice.

This might be one of the best introductions to Pathfinder First Edition, the table top.
Rules are not 1 to 1, there is some variation, but the core values of the system are there in videogame form.
Sadly, Wrath of the Righteous is the superior game, but I don't think Kingmaker has to be skipped. It has fewer options and combat is simpler and there's nothing wrong with that. Kingmaker is a game I can play in real time mode and not have to worry about being suboptimal on core difficulty. And fewer options for a newcomer means that they can read better the game and make decisions.

That being said, the game could make use of quality of life improvements made in the sequel, things like better shop and inventory UI, camera and overall a more clear presentation. Pacing is also a problem, there are going to be times where you are just passing days waiting for something to happen.
Also it has some bugs, more notable are things like, casting a spell or an ability on turn mode, or having a bunch of npcs join the combat, the game just stops and you have to change into real time mode and back to turn mode to unstuck itself. It didn't happen a lot, but it shows more in the endgame and with crunchier fights.

Overall, I've enjoyed my time replaying the game. Outside of the PF shpere it is a step game and the sequel is even more so, but if you are in for feature packed rpgs, with a lot of choices in combat, story and character building, this one will satisfy you.

需要说明的是，游戏本身实际上可玩性和自由度是存在的。作为PF规则下的电子游戏，拥王者本身给予了玩家一个完整甚至超出常规规则的内容。
然而就战斗来说，一些恶心的战斗机制并没有给人太多正反馈，比如无尽的力竭和迷惑，以及后期常见的堆怪机制，往往意味着一些队伍bd并不那么被制作组所欢迎。
王国管理相对琐碎。实际上王国管理系统并不复杂，但也不意味着它过于单薄。不少支线任务也是由这套系统延伸。然而过于简陋的管理机制也使这套游戏系统显得累赘而重复，有一段时间任务一直失败更使我头大不已！
