Not a great start. To get to a new area, you have to befriend certain dinos to do certain things like break boulders. Ended up finding one one. Tamed it. Days went by. Can't saddle it cuz it doesn't trust me.

Uhh...thats odd.

The game makes you tame a dino after you get familiar with your main one, so I figured this would be the same. I fed it its fave food and pet it every single day for nearly a week. Its happiness stayed at 75% and wouldn't budge. Others suggested giving it a pen of its own. I did it. Now it's happiness dropped to 25% and there's a note on him that says he wants a pen-mate.

So that means I'd have to go through the headache AGAIN of taming a dino. Which larger dinos are harder since the large glowing stone needed for them are so much rarer in the beginning. The sheer slog of it made me quit right on the spot after 4 hours of already slogging. It did not feel good to finally get something done, it only left a feeling of "NOW what?!" after accomplishing anything.

I feel like after 3 years of being out, this game would feel a ALOT more polished, but it still feels very crude in both controls and mechanics. Like for cryin out loud, there is no equipment slots for tools or anything. You just have to scroll through your whole freakin backpack. That right there does NOT give the energy of a game released in 2023. This whole experience didn't jive well with me and I'm honestly not sure if I will even touch this again. And that sucks too cuz I love the design and the dinos. Whelp, I guess it's a good thing I got it for like....$8 on sale. Oh well.

the dinosaurs are cute. that’s about all the positive things i can say about this.

the mechanics are clunky and inconvenient. the npcs and world feel utterly lifeless. you get no direction whatsoever so you spend the majority of the time looking things up.

it’s just dull. idrk how else to say it. never felt engaged or wanting to continue.

they promised us fixes and more content, I've had the game since it released and now all we get is them begging us to buy their limited time only merch and asking us to donate to yet another patreon exclusive for updates that should of been added years ago.

it had so much potential, but they have horrible communication with the fanbase and do nothing except ask for more money and never do anything for the game.

I can't even begin to crash out over them locking seasonal holidays and events behind DLC, or that they still have yet to do any of the things they promised to do from the games original patreon page. I regret funding this, but they know they have people that love dinosaurs in a choke hold, because we have nothing else, especially games like this.

if you want a cozy dinosaur game, go play AMber Isle, it's 100% better in every way and still gets updates and fixes.

This game feels like it should be cozy but sadly ends up rather draining.
It is cute to see dino's interact with another and interacting with some decorations...
IF they are within their fenced pen.
They have no problem following you through the gates when called upon but no matter their trust towards you, they always stay neatly in their enclosure.
The trust system feels unintuitive especially when some dino's trust you after a day of just providing a pen while another dino recieves a (-n in-game) week of full happyness to be usable.
"Usable" is the next dissapointment, every rideable dino just feels like a vastly superior version of your own tools which wouldn't be that bad but then you notice that every dino waters the same way (except for altered animations).
It looks cute but also very shalllow.
I don't like that this is my third review in total and the first one where I'd recommend against playing a game.
Wanna play a cute farming game?
Try Slime Rancher 1 or 2
Looking for something cozy?
Stardew Valley can calm you for years of your life.
Want to live with dinosaurs?
Look at Ark: Survival Evolved (Tweaking the settings for solo play is not cheating)

Playing this game allthough I'd love to enioy it causes me more exhaustion within 2 hours than some of my previous work did in 10 hours.
The only game I'd wish to be in early access so it would look like it's still in development.

Oh... damn okay, I just played this for 8 hours straight... man if you like dinosaurs and stardew valley, you'll REALLY like this. It's very cute/charming, no rush to fill orders or complete quests, easy controls and very chill atmosphere. I just made it to the 2nd area (highly recommend visiting at night) and I'm still giggling to myself like a 10 year old again at all the different kinds of dinosaurs I'm discovering.

this game is nice and cute but i think its better suited for kids, it reminds me of a game i would play back when i was like 7, its a good game but while its super simple some of the quests are confusing- the picnic event is a bit lack luster (i was expecting to see some dinos standing around), the city npc's are generic other than the important npcs, its not as fleshed out as it could be.

Still a good game, just not for someone like me

Yes this game is very beginner player friendly, it has simple controls and is super easy to learn and understand! However, taming the dinosours can get confusing, especially if youre like me and dont read anything so if you need to understand whats happening at all times dont be scared to follow the in game tutorial and quest line!

[b] Game Play: [/b]

This game is a farming game, but with dinos! You use different dinos for different things, some dinos can move giant rocks while others may be better at foraging. Complete quests to expand the map and your land with one dino at a time!

[b] Graphics: [/b]

The graphics for this game are absolutely adorable and suite the gameplay very well, they remind me a lot of animal crossing but more third person then... however you would describe the way animal crossing kind of looks. I would say this game could potentially work on a more low end computer, however, if it does not work on your low end PC and you have a console or nintendo this game is available on those platforms!

[b] Community: [/b]

The community is very friendly and there are numerous guides and tutorials to help you progress in the game. Everyone seems very friendly and I wouldnt be scared of reaching out if you need some help!

[b] How long can you play? [/b]

This game could easily be played for hours from the story alone. However, if you are like me and get distracted it may last even longer! There is definitely replayability potential in this game as well if you enjoy decorating and farming.

In my opinion if you enjoy farming games and are looking for something a little different, this may be the game you are looking for! Or if you just enjoy dinos...

I absolutely LOVE this game!

i'll update my review later to add more detail but it has quickly become one of my 'daily' games, which is saying something as I rarely have the attention span or motivation to play a game every single day

Full review coming soon, but rest assured, this game is SO fun and SO cute, it can be a little slow sometimes depending on how you choose to progress but it is worth every penny. I just wish it had even more content as I'm nervous i'll beat the storyline too fast XD

This game is really adorable and plenty of fun! I love the dinosaur designs so much and it doesn't get boring for me quickly which is a great plus. I say this with all of the love in my heart, one of it's few and most glaring downfalls is the character and NPC designs. They're so ugly :( They look like horrible cabbage patch kids, and I think it would really benefit the devs to consider an overhaul of the human appearance in this game because they all look really creepy and very unappealing. I kinda just ignore them because this game has so many strengths that it obviously doesn't destroy my enjoyment, but by god the human models are really rough on the eyes. I'm so sorry for the harsh description!! Beautiful game, the visuals could definitely stand to be beefed up a bit though, I'd go crazy for some more dynamic lighting on the ultra graphics settings!
