Please stop trying to fix things that don't need fixing, An example would be the nerfing of the weapons, there is no reason that a three star axe uses the same amount of hits as a one star weapon to take down one zombie. Also make the proximity alerts better, just spent 40 mins trying to find one simple tool box in the marina, just to die from running out or resources. I really like this game, but in its current state I would not recommend to others. Stop making a good game into complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

No More Room In Hell 2 is perhaps one of the biggest and best examples of how publishers ruin everything. This game has a perfectly playable and fun looking build that had been shown to YouTubers and streamed by the developers weeks before the original launch date. For some reason torn banner bought the series days before launch and then threw away the entire 2022 build and recoded the game in a year only keeping the assets.
So the game launched and was obviously horrible and I didn't buy the game back then. I saw it on sale recently and bought me and my friend a copy. I figured that after a year maybe they have fixed the game and got it up to the standards of the 2020 build. No, torn banner is a retarded and direction less company. All they have added is a few maps that are of lower quality to the first powerplant map using assets from the 2020 build.
It really feels like they had some really talented developers before whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥ made the decision to sell to the mouth breathers at torn banner.
The key issues now with this game are.
- Lack of modding and maps. While the first game had modding as a core element Torn Banner made the genius decision to recode the game in unreal 5 instead of 4 making this impossible
- Lack of players and difficulty. No one plays this game because it is ♥♥♥♥. The game is made for 8 players it does not get harder or easier to compensate for a lack of players. You can't get an 8 player lobby and there is no respawning. Torn banner has done nothing to address this issue and continues to release maps built exclusively for 8 players.
- No wave defense mode. 2020 version had it Torn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ version doesn't still somehow.
- Horrifyingly bad player models. I'm not sure how to explain this except the face models are the ugliest pieces of work I've ever seen.
- Overly complicated objectives that go on for too long or borgin repetitive objectives.
- The game trying to use the same respawn and difficulty system as the first game despite not having the players and taking way longer to complete a map. The first game the respawn system was fine because at worse you'd be dead for 20 minutes usually 10 or 5. This game drags on and on and you can be dead for hours. They need a different respawn system no one wants to be dead for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours.
This game is very unique in the fact that it's all torn banners fault all of the blame can be placed on a single entity. This company should never be allowed to touch another person's IP again.

There is no way to not play nightmare difficulty due to forced matchmaking overlaps. Until I can select my difficulty outright, the review is gonna stay.
Such a fun game and very well supported by the devs who do great and cotinuous work on it, I have some stability issues and disconnecting but their work has improved the game alot in my experience., the maps feel large and detailed and the audio design is imerssive and terrifying . The gunplay is smooth and the progression and permadeath system is awesome along with the credit system. It doesnt feel grindy and when I die I usually know why which removes the frustration. I hope for some more expansion to work in pottsville like going to the cemetary or somewhere else instead of the community centre just to chang things up a little and more diversity in the map missions or new maps.
Keep up the great work Devs you have fans that appreciate your hard work and who are looking forward to what your going to add next!

This game has so much promise. Seriously what I'm looking for out of a zombie survival. I think the reviews are pretty harsh for a game still in EA but I understand some people are looking for NMRIH1 with update graphics. I'm not. I'm looking for what the devs are trying to bring to the table for NMRIH2 with the spirit of 1. Please keep bringing those new ideas and I can't wait to see all the updates.
Devs are constantly updating and making the game feel exactly what you want out of a zombie survival game.

Ostia, pues está muy guapo, buena continuación de un juego antiguo. Tiene cosas a mejorar pero es como el nmrh original pero mejorado. Mismos objetos y ambientación mapas grandes y muy logrados solo que más actual. El orginial se sentía más mortal y más jodido en general pero este está muy bien aún así. No he probado la dificultad pesadilla pero para unas buenas horas da el juego eso seguro.
Lo único que veo muy mal es que cuando hay poca gente o muchos han muerto, al abandonar no cuenta los suministros que llevamos, al menos que cuente unicamente los conseguidos por el juegador y no del equipo, estaría bien.
Este juego esta pensado para jugar en equipo.
Nothing feels worse than when you realize you are lagging, the zombies are still attacking the location you were at ~20 seconds ago, and that you just lost your 5, 10, or 50-hour character. With how long it takes to gain credits, jumping back in with a new character can feel like a slog.

I came back to this game after 6 months. But the gaming experience is worse than 6 months ago. I do feel happy about the new weapons, new maps and new feature. That is why I hope this game to be better. But the melee combat feels slower, more clunky, inconsistent, and unsatisfying than before. It make me feel more stressful and painful when I fighting with zombie. I have no idea why the dev team still not listening to players feedback, but to nerf, place debuff on the melee combat. I suppose to feel rewarded, relaxed and have fun while I am killing zombie and playing games. If I am not, why should I continue to play it? Now I would say this game deserves to be dead, just because they don't understand the importance of gaming experience.
The game was fun when it first came out, but it was BUTT CHEEKS. Now... Its much better than I remember. Still a bit buggy, but not as bad as it was when it first released. I got to give props where its due the Devs have been consistently updating the game since release and theres a lot of new stuff. New guns, new items, new maps, etc. All the good stuff and they still plan to release more and add new game modes soon. The game has come a long way since its initial release I liked it then, and I like it more now. Hopefully, the developer can do something to revive the player counter to the game. While I mainly play in a squad with my friends there are still people that play the game, but when I solo into public its never a full lobby. All in all though I recommend buying the game if its on sale or if you're just on the fence about it. Fun game and I love killing the zombies to win the game. :)

This recent change ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it. Unlimited Zombies(Always been a thing). Melee nerf ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game. Casual difficulty feels less casual and more nightmare. This game used to be manageable. Now it's a game a barely wish to touch. Make the game tolerable. Not borderline impossible.

Впервые увидев начальный экран подумал что это клон PUBG - понял, что ловить тут нечего. Вернул игру и вернулся в первую часть - по мне она лучше почти во всем
Прошёл обучение только с 4 раза, так как ловил баг с руками и я ничего не мог взять в руки. (P.S. я его всё равно ловил и в итоге прошёл обучение с этим багом) После решил поиграть по сети, первые две игры нашлись быстро, но была ошибка сервера и я не мог запуститься. На третий раз поиск игры занял 7 минут, но опять ошибка сервера. Думал хуже Таркова ничего нет, но оказывается есть игра, с которой она может посоревноваться
Its an ok game for what it tries to be, has almost nothing in common with the first but it doesnt need to. Not too many bugs at the time of writing this, performance whoever remains abysmal.
This game had great promise, but is very bad executed. The main idea of the game is about killing zombies, and killing zombies in this game is not only boring but also something you would like to avoid.
The combat is mediocre, they keep spawning endlessly so you need 1 or 2 friends just to keep them away while you have to complete the objetives. Also there almost no one playing this game, so finding a public session is nearly impossible.
I wish this game had a better gamplay, maybe it would have been enjoyable.

Bad optimize, bad sever, can't play OFFLINE (no internet).
Survivor got massive nerf: very slow melee attack animation, melee attack range reduce, movement speed reduce. Since animation change, most of the time bad sever will also count as you didn't do any melee attack but your screen show otherwise. Movement speed reduce both walking and running.
Zombie spawn way too many, since melee got nerf, it seem like developer want us to focus on gun but that also not possible due to gun and ammo so scare. If you some how dismembered zombie leg, they go into berserk mode, attack speed, movement speed and range increase a lot compare when they still have both leg. stay on bed won't avoid them, it a huge Nightmare if you enter the house full of missing leg zombies.
A lot of safe high ground got removed or zombie can climb higher now, which make us mostly have no safe place to trade stuff to other players.
Game was already OK, not good but OK during the REANIMATION update (Update 0.4.1). Now it really bad. I do not recommend this game right now, up to you to give it a try by yourself

游戏绝对是靠史山代码堆起来的，玩个训练营用个医疗包都能卡bug。还有那个近战手感就是一坨屎，后摇都长到制作组马死了，射击手感难评。僵尸一晃一晃的瞄都瞄不准，明明打了提前量，打了一枪感觉上是明明能中的，就硬是没判定打到僵尸身上，我找谁说理去？我找制作组老冯说理去吗？还有作为一个丧尸题材的游戏，你家的安全头盔能硬扛手枪弹还啥事儿没有？你家的防弹头盔真防弹？你家僵尸脑袋能硬扛一发步枪弹还是556？来来来，所有参与游戏开发的人排队把头给我伸过来，我就把那个步枪塞你们嘴里面开三枪看你们还能不能站着，还有那个被打了腿的丧尸爬都比走的快，我就用那个钢管把你们制作组的所有人腿敲断你们给我爬一个那样的速度来，从24年摆烂发售到现在风评口碑依旧烂到家了，过了差不多整整一年半，一点儿改变都没有，bug依旧有，手感依旧稀烂，不想办法优化游戏，不想办法如何让更多新鲜血液加入游戏，却想着法的恶心人，错了就是错了，挨打要立正，我就是嘴臭怎么地，因为我花钱了，体验就如同一场酣畅淋漓的吃屎。
再说一次，千万千万不要买这个游戏，因为现在根本匹配不到人，花钱买这个游戏还玩了超两个小时，那简直就是上赶着给这种摆烂的制作组送钱，我他妈宁愿去美国把这81块钱给人家流浪汉也不愿意给这种傻逼制作组。
Ужасно недружелюбная (в плохом смысле) игра. Нет субтитров -- герои что-то бормочут, ничего не понятно. Одиночной игры нет, ты обязан играть с незнакомыми людьми, которые быстро выполняют все задания, а ты ничего не понимаешь. Зайдя в первую катку, я подумал, что оказался в какой-то инди-поделке, которая просто находится в стадии прототипа, потому что нет внятного дизайна и мотивации делать хоть один шаг. Ну я заспавнился с револьвером и дубинкой, ну и что? Дальше что делать? Идти в город и лутаться? А зачем? А когда в этом городе уже лутаются другие и что-то делают, это просто бесит. Игре просто пофигу, что ты новичок и пытаешься понять, как играть, она типа серьезная, сложная и брутальная. Но сложная и невнятная это разные вещи. Я не хочу в это вникать и жалею о том, что потерял на это время. Крайне неприятный опыт, когда хочешь дать игре шанс, но она тебя просто спавнит и развлекать себя ты должен сам. Никакого внятного обучения, советов, инструкций. Какой-то абсурд, токсичный и душный.
This game is not hard, people complaining because there's too many zombies or melee is hard to use is being lazy. This game requires you to think, be creative and adapt to the situation. The game provides you everything you need to survive. You just need to know the game mechanics, map, objectives and a little patience. You can absolutely solo missions on Nightmare difficulty. Will it be easy? No, but there is an emergency evacuation so you don't lose your character. Too many zombies? Try looting the map before going in for an objective. Not enough loot? Try using your ammo/equipment when its absolutely necessary. Zombies will always spawn in, kill with a purpose. Remember escape routes when cornered. Think 10 steps ahead and plan for the worst. If this play style isn't for you, maybe try communicating with the team. Staying with a group is more helpful than any amount of loot and being alone. The only thing I would want the devs to fix is the cheaters, either ban them or label them with "Cheater" next to their names. Other than that, I really enjoy this game because it is challenging and feels rewarding when you get yourself out of a seemingly impossible situation.

萌新体验很有趣，开始只敢蜷缩在阴暗的小角落，努力试图找到大部队后做大佬的跟屁虫，也有时候全局只有两三个人，结伴挣扎求生的感觉也很棒（虽然确实很绝望），由于不会被背刺，所以体验比ARC更适合养老，希望制作组能继续更新地图，然后稍微优化一下近战的手感……

I had High Hopes for this game but some updates feels like your getting your hopes up for a good update just to come back and the gameplay feels worse than before? The combat used to feel impactful, now when you hit enemies it feels like hitting them with a balloon animal. If I gotta take the time to overhead make it at least feel worthy, now im spamming light attacks like its chiv. Fix your game before you push the content out.
Way better than it was at launch in every respect but has a long way to go. If it released in this state, no doubt it would have retained way more people

在游戏引擎日新月异的今天为了模仿而去模仿受限于老旧起源引擎无奈做成这样的一代手感，这样的手感在当时确实是能拿得出手的最好方案了，但我活在2026而不是十五年前。近战武器的攻击动画、音效、手感明明有不少成熟完善并且贴合游戏主题的方案，但是游戏给我的感觉就像是叛乱沙暴的换弹动作一样——全程保持缓慢的匀速移动。我理解制作组为了让游戏更有代入感想把动作做的更拟真不想把角色塑造成来去如风的超人，但是现实里人类的动作也是有缓急之分的，你那样慢慢的把钢管掏出来再慢慢的放到丧尸的头上是想轻轻敲醒他们沉睡的心灵吗 o.O 。而且制作组可能是为了所谓的“平衡”“拟真”又或者是和尼基塔这位神人想法一样只想一味的为难玩家而选择让玩家扮演这样一位久经沙场能够在末世存活下来并且自愿加入CRC试图拯救世界但是发现自己连挥几下厨刀就气喘吁吁的狠人。服务器问题导致的高延迟、很难匹配到人这种测试期游戏常有的问题我完全可以理解，我疑惑的是这个为了让新人更快上手专门做的难度我坐了三个小时的牢是一次没见过 T T，梦魇我都打过了，既然这样那做出来的意义何在。
归根结底，游戏本身的玩法和氛围是没问题的，但前提是制作组和这个游戏能活到把上述这些问题解决的那天，玩过一代觉得有意思的想入手可以找朋友组队玩，单独一个人或者没玩过一代的还是观望一下比较好。
二编：经过我一段时间的游玩，上述遇到的几乎全部问题都是因为高延迟，包括但不限于出刀慢、砍人伤害低等等（因为服务器判定你根本没砍到），每次玩欧服这样的情况特别严重，好不容易匹一次新加坡发现这些问题全都没了
还有，因为延迟问题我最后一个挂索上直升机，刚上来舱门就关上了（可能在服务器看来我在绳索上升到一半的时候人就已经上来了所以就关门了？）把我卡在舱门和机体中间，然后算我“未能撤离”，我真力竭了

Когда я играл в первую часть, будучи школьником, я мечтал о второй части, представлял, какой она может быть. И кто бы мог подумать, что спустя годы она выйдет лучше, чем я мог себе вообразить.

Страшная, хардкорная, невероятно атмосферная, депрессивная, грустная, реалистичная, уникальная игра с отличной графикой, стрельбой, буквально лучший симулятор зомби на планете.
В этой игре есть что-то, что тяжело объяснить, это просто надо почувствовать.
Знаете, эта игра, она больше про меланхолию, про постоянное дыхание смерти в спину, про обреченность. Она очень сильно наказывает за ошибки. В самом начале миссии ты можешь неудачно словить инфекцию от зомби и просто не найти таблеток.. Будешь бегать и смотреть, как персонаж постепенно сходит с ума, начинает слышать голоса, детский плач. Вены начнут расползаться по глазам, зрение будет все хуже и хуже. И далее либо выстрелить себе в лицо. Либо героически умереть в сражении. Либо просто тихо упасть где то вдали под деревом и стать одним из ходячих.
Можно, конечно, спидранить миссии с крутыми игроками, вообще нифига полезного не сделать, тебя протащат, да, ты получишь опыт, качнешь персонажа. Но это уже не будет No More Room in Hell. И не факт, что в следующей катке тебе снова попадутся тащеры.
Игра очень умело держит в напряжении, она задевает многие чувства. Не могу не отметить великолепные саундтреки от ThoughT. Идеальная музыка для поплакать и попечалиться.
Как итог, хочу сказать, что невероятно грустно видеть хейт этой игры. Желчные идиоты как всегда руинят все хорошее своей токсичностью. Игра крайне незаслуженно лишена того внимания, которого действительно достойна.

游戏已经到了能玩的地步了，只要一直更新地图，把优化搞好点，还是挺好玩的（主要是这种类型的游戏就这一种，没得选）

I saw all the reviews on slow melee combat. Bought anyway, it does need a server browser, but it's very true to the original. Very solid.
只能說這遊戲還是有淺力的
但首先製作團隊要先把優化、局內的隨機性玩法、局外的商店聲望貨幣交易以及物資和夢魘的用途更多可用性、模式選擇，如防守波次，然後把殭屍依照威脅等級來調整生成數、還有玩家的噪音系統也要優化，不然每次只用近戰這種低噪音武器還吸引到很多殭屍。希望也能新增像能防守殭屍入侵的如鐵絲網（減緩殭屍並扣腳的血量增加肢解度，但也會減速玩家）等防禦型建築，讓建造者這個技能有所用處。
總而言之，作為一代老粉，我很喜歡他們的新作，也會繼續支持，如果你喜歡無腦紓壓殺殭屍就來玩這遊戲，雖然這遊戲還有許多改進的地方，但就目前為止遊戲除了重複性高、優化不好（看個人配置）、模式少等等…微不足道的缺點，還算有可玩性，畢竟團隊未來還會更新許多內容。

哥们折磨人有一手的，地图要么没几个安全屋要么缺衣少食没药没子弹，合着动态组队是我跟地图上极限刷新的物资组队呢是吧？
单人毫无游戏体验，任务点无限尸潮，你拉不明白火车还没有收音机只能卸载游戏。
枪械手感非常奇怪，肌无力射击法，开镜不如腰射点头准，开镜会强制让准星置于屏幕中下方然后你瞄准的时候直接瞄具挡住了僵尸的头导致你啥也看不见。（而且因为你升级困难，点不到远程的技能，然后没队友配合的话……远程武器弱，弱近战武器，反正就是你纯享啥啥都不行。）
组队的体验也很奇怪，会虚空当面刷僵尸在你附近，尤其是你做任务的情况，要么刷背后要么突然刷你队友旁边，真真的当面刷凭空刷。
现阶段不建议任何没有队友能一起玩的玩家单独挑战这款游戏。

为何不引入一个动态的噪音/危险等级系统，来让玩家根据自身的物资储备水平来决定大胆的突袭清潮还是谨慎的潜行做任务？而不是单纯的无限刷刷刷尸潮给任务点压力。
声音系统：根据玩家的行为产生的噪声等级会逐渐增加当前地区的危险等级，比如产生噪音的任务交互，或者枪声和爆炸物，或者玩家语音系统产生的噪音。
危险等级系统：手表显示当前地区危险等级【动态】，丧尸会主动靠近危险等级逐渐升高的区域。危险等级达到顶峰时，此地图区域会在一段时间内无限刷新丧尸填满地区丧尸ai数量上限。（每个区域丧尸刷新会有一个总量限制，当玩家清理一部分僵尸以后会降低此地区的危险等级，并对应减缓丧尸刷新的时间与数量上限。）
为了配套这个动态的系统，将每张图的任务点与物资补给点分散开：（不要一股脑的只在任务点放大量物资）
玩家可以盲目的一个点一个点的搜索物资，这样虽然风险低，但是效率更低下，不过误打误撞可能会碰到自己想要的物资点。
而直接去任务点做任务会得到任务点里的上一轮幸存者留下的具体的物资地点信息（在哪个地方有什么物资）以驱动玩家规划路线，而不是盲目的乱搜，乱撞，但相对的做任务就会升级任务点区域的危险等级（被迫选择）
局外成长系统：
每一把会刷新一些独特的兴趣点线索，收集线索得到兴趣点具体位置。玩家去探索收集兴趣点会触发任务点同等的危险等级上升效果，但可以在结束以后自行选择收集物资点信息或得到游戏的收集品（比如各种外观奖励）
游戏币不再是给当前角色解锁可以带入战局的装备，而是用于购买对应武器装备在当前战局的位置信息，比如我想玩儿什么武器，不是让我的角色能花钱直接带进去，而是通过购买线索得知这把游戏去哪儿能找到我要的东西。
这样一来，等级解锁装备变成了等级解锁当局游戏内具体装备的具体位置信息的购买权。
梦魇徽章：
这个东西可以作为使用难度调节器的货币，成为一种消耗品，相当于给了进阶玩家可以自主调控游戏体验的权力。
玩家可以通过消耗拥有的梦魇徽章来定制一场游戏的具体内容变化，比如装备/任务点/丧尸刷新的多少，甚至丧尸的攻击能力和血量，无限细化。
当然这样设计的难度比较大，视情况而定吧。
重中之重：给于玩家主动选择服务器地区的能力！！！
Best part of this game is blowing your brains out in front of your friends. Button is K.
It was difficult...but fun! And then they did an update to make your swing slower. Now its so slow that zombies can sprint,tackle and bite you before you can hit them all while doing some slow wind up im going to swing a baseball bat now thing. For some reason they took away stabs with small knives like kitchen knives and also made it so you so THE SAME slow wind up and swing motion....for a dagger! Like wtf! If you have a small knife, why would you swing it like a baseball bat? Why not stab stab or quicker attacks... this ruined the game. I do not suggest anyone get or play this game until fighting is fair game, and the zombies arent so overpowered. Right now we are put into the world of zombies as sheep...and we cant even protect ourselves. Whats the reason of a zombie survival if you cant even protect yourself! You give us guns with such little ammo that using anything we are given will just make us die faster. Atleast give us a chance TO LIVE!!!! seeing how it was a decent game and now its not irritates me. Ruined. This game is ruined.
The optimization has always been janky and the melee combat (75% of all the fighting you do) just feels like your weapon is a png sliding across the screen. The weapon impact feels like nothing and the animations are just lazy. If its been this long since it came out and no one is happy still maybe its not a player problem. Go play literally any dying light game or dead island or go play the original NMRIH, Devs really just keepin their eyes closed to the people who care.
Not sure about all the hate the game gets, I find it enjoyable, few bugs here and there but overall its good fun and gets at least one jump out of me each game.

the community might hate it, but it has such big potential. the devs and community just need to get their stuff straight. but overall compared to release its a pretty good addition to NMRIH!
1. Poor match making. Places you on a large map wiyh 3 people instead of 6-8.
2. Hit boxes are not proper. I swing a long shovel from 3 feet away and miss, the dead swing an arm from 10 feet away and hit you.
3. Lota of bugs. Ladder insta death. Map fallouts. Etc.
4. The difficulty makes no difference. You choose casual and you're getting put into hugher difficulties without them even being a choice on your list thats checked off.
Theres alot more. The game is fun when it works correctly. With the perma death though and all these issues. Its damn near impossivle to fully experience the type of game it is.
Game is dead. Servers are empty. Gave up queuing after 8 mins of nothing.

No se que le habeis hecho al juego con el ultimo parche, el cuerpo a cuerpo es horrible ahora el personaje pega lentisimo, el personaje va horriblemente lento y con el peso reducido de la mochila apenas puedes llevar nada, las radios no funcionan a veces los golpes atraviesan a los zombis los zombis spawnean de la nada cuando te giras. Con este ultimo parche os habeis cargado el juego y si sigue asi no volveremos a jugar.
As a fan of the original No More Room in Hell, I think the second installment is a success for the developers and clearly on the right track to becoming a great zombie game. There are still some adjustments to be made especially to the melee combat (particularly after the latest update), zombie AI, and spawn behavior, some tweaks to the perk system but the foundation is strong. Even in its current state, it has all the elements needed to keep me on edge, especially when playing with friends on Nightmare difficulty. As for the cosmetics, I’m confident the developers won’t follow the path that Rust and Killing Floor took and will instead stay true to the immersive, dark, grounded zombie aesthetic that preserves the game’s atmosphere.

Very underrated I find this game really fun with friends if it wasnt mostly walking this game would be a 10/10 easily but i give it a 9.3/10. (needs more guns and ammo in the game aswell)

I guess its finally time for me to throw my hat in the ring regarding this pile of crap.
(TL;DR: DO NOT PURCAHSE THIS GAME!)
NMRIH2 fails to be an interesting, fun or immersive objective-based zombie game and will leave you feeling underwhelmed at every corner. Torn Banner jumped the gun when they released the game in October of 2024, giving their perspective audience the equivalent of a pre-alpha stage game that was nowhere near complete.
Unfortunately as of February 15, 2026 (a year and a half later), this is still the case...
EARLY ACCESS:
NMRIH2 is yet another example as to why developers should not be allowed to release their games on this platform in the 'Early Access', incomplete state. Yes, there are success stories of developers finishing their games, however; they are still wildly outnumbered by the majority of 'Early Access' titles that have not, and never will see a full release. The overall percentage of games that have have escaped the 'Early Access' hell are roughly 15-24%, though I cannot get the most accurate measurement, so please take that last part with a grain of salt and do your own reasearch.
UPDATE 0.8.0 AND THE PROBLEMS:
After this last major update (0.8.0), the melee combat (which was the game's only saving grace) is now botched; you don't even need to play a video game to understand that not all melee weapons should not require a wind-up window that's uniform across the board.
To put it simply; a one-handed mallet should not take the same amount of time to prepare a charged melee swing as somone wielding a shovel or sledgehammer and causes the melee system to feel sloppy and frustrating. This is NOT Chivalry 2 and thank god for that, what we have in NMRIH2 will NOT work with the aggressively unrelenting hordes of undead. I'm not suggesting something more arcade-y like Left4Dead, but a nice playable middle-ground would be great.
Things I have issue with:
- The melee system... Especially as of update 0.8.0, implementing animations to make attacks slower was not the right call.
- The terrible push to talk function... It would be better if it was open mic, just saying. The comms are terrible and you can barely hear anyone effectively, even with the other volumes turned down.
- The lack of a dedicated loadout/weapons locker... Where do our weapons and gear go everytime we find something on a mission? Genuinely, what the hell is that?! That's something that should have been their implimented at either launch or in one of the first updates!
- The lack of corresponder customization... We waited until update 0.8.0 and we got a barely functional customization feature? That's just downright disappointing. Again, this was something that could have been rolled out on launch or at least in one of the immediate following updates.
- Not to fire a shot at the Voice Actor (VA) work but... Its rough. Servicable sure, but ultimately bland, generic and uninteresting. Why could you not have those ten VAs do different tones/accents/etc and give each one a different personality? Both genders have five voices and almost all of them sound the same except for two; this is just underwhelming considering how many lesser-known voice actors there are in the industry who could use the work.
- Optimization... Hello Monster Hunter Wilds, you've finally found a penpal.
- The Experimental Gene Therapy... Why does the experimental gene therapy not ALWAYS work to cure your infection? I'm not even sorry to say this but if Torn Banner has made the darn thing so rare and nearly impossible to find, then it should act as a cure-all. I'm aware that concept may not fit their original lore or intended vision but I don't care, there has to be some level of reward for finding one, not hoping it works and and being left disappointed (and still infected). That's poor payoff for your players and it might as well just be removed from the game entirely, especially when you consider how frequently you come across Phalanx Pills and the overall short length of time each match takes.
- New maps... Adding new maps is great, but if you don't have the playerbase (currently around 100 players TOTAL) to adequately play said levels then we'll never end up getting to them and playing the same two maps we always play.
- Running and movement... I saw the post Torn Banner made on January 20, 2026. That was just a poor excuse to prevent players from speedrunning your missions. I believe it goes without saying but there were plenty of alterations that could have been made without tanking player enjoyment. What it DIDN'T do was have players make more impactful decision-making because now it is a tedious chore to attempt outrunning the WALKERS when we are RUNNING. This is most certainly most detrimental in stretches of long road or in narrow passages full of zombies on your way to complete an objective. Fix this.
- Manuverability... Why can I not climb up a ledge that only goes up to my chest? Why can't I hop over a railing to get onto a pipe if my only exit from the cooling towers in the power plant, is cut off? This is moronic.
Things that are passable:
- Atmosphere... That said, turn off the lights in your house at night and walk around with a flashlight. You can easily recreate that same feeling at home, so at the end of the day, it's not special.
- The (sometimes) interesting maps and locations... This would be a lot better if the same four objectives weren't getting repeated throughout every playthrough with only minor location alterations.
- Voice alteration when someone is infected... This is a pretty neat audible cue to tell you whether someone is infected... However their coughing and hacking up bile is far more of a dead giveaway, plus you could do the same voice over changes in Adobe Premiere or Voicemod. Again, nothing special.
Things that didn't matter:
- The music... Barely notice it because the zombies are truly deafening.
- The zombie noises... Too loud and just annoying.
- The flashlight battery... Buy some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ durecells!
Things I liked:
- Uninstalling the game.
I had a friend on a discord call with me as I was playing today and he was deciding whether or not to reinstall the game. After the first two minutes, my response was "Don't do it, this plays like *poop*."
Torn Banner. You either need to desperately fix your game or sink with it. My advice? Paddle faster...
