No recollection of buying this game but here we are. On normal it's a mostly relaxing puzzle game with stage gimmicks cycling in and out after a couple of uses. The physics are serviceable but I think I'll pass on the alternative difficulty, thanks.

Пишу негативный отзыв чтобы на него упал взгляд. Почти все обзоры написаны людьми, не прошедшими и десятка головоломок. Это видно по статистике достижений, только 14% закончили первую главу, где ничего не надо делать, только секунд 10 жать вправо. Зачем они тратили время на написание обзоров после такого сурового гейминга, мне не понятно. Они услышали расслабляющую музыку, и решили что это лёгкая казуалка. На самом деле это сложный паззл на рефлексы, а музыка спокойная чтобы игроки меньше бомбили и не ломали клавиатуры. Итак, я предупредил.

Now with over a decade (and a half!) since its Steam release, [i]NightSky[/i] as an ambient physics-platformer still pleasantly surprises with its near-perfect physics simulation and short yet neat puzzling levels.

Originally purchased as part of a bundle, I never thought to give it a try until recently. It appears as a simple ball-rolling physics-platformer but the levels offer a charming variety that go between tightly designed challenges to wildly imaginative contraptions. This occasional change in pace alleviates the difficulty found in the precise platforming levels that were often the focus in platformers at the time.

The physics were also pretty much perfect, the outcome of every collision or every bounce felt understandable and there was no need for any physics jank to get reach the goal. In turn it allowed the harder levels to require more precise movement that honestly felt a little crazy at times, but always knowing each level was only 3 screens long made it bearable.

Comparatively to its modern peers, [i]NightSky[/i] isn't anything spectacularly special (although rarely anything is once 14 years has past,) but it has a confident and playful design that's perfect for anyone nostalgic for the masochistic platforming of the time.

Nightsky is a physics game through and through with some puzzles involved from time to time. I just replayed this game as I noticed that achievements had been added and enjoyed my second playthrough of the game, both the normal and alternative modes.

The alternative mode provides a greater level of difficulty, but still very similar to the normal mode in the sense of what you are to accomplish, the number of levels, and the different types of apparatus the ball may interact with. At times you are a flying bird, other times a 4x4 type of device.

The game provides 11 different worlds with about a half dozen to a dozen different levels in each. Levels consist of multiple screens so if you die you only restart at the start of the levels. You will restart often, but each time you better understand the physics or figure out the timing of your jump.

At times your ball is allowed to use super speed other times it's not, it all depends what has been activated for that level from the developer. You can also you use the brake to better stay on moving platforms. Overall the physics are really good and some of the puzzles are well designed too.

The game is casual, but can be difficult, but is impossible to not eventually beat if you just keep trying as many of the puzzles just requires your ball to hit platforms at the right angle and if the platforms are moving or your speed is different, you obviously can get very different outcomes. Eventually you will get it.

Great game, I enjoy it, definitely recommend it.

This game definitely has some old indie screwiness- there were a few puzzles where I wasn't sure if I solved it in the intended way or just chanced the physics in the right way. I didn't find the game particularly relaxing as the puzzles are a bit stressful. But it doesn't overstay its welcome and is pretty unique in its own right.

Straight out of the 2000s flash era, this is an enjoyable physics sphere platformer enjoyable in bite sized chunks.

The game provides 10 different areas, each featuring 13 levels. Each level is composed of 3 screens, and the controls and abilities of your sphere vary between levels. You generally have left/right rolling, and sometimes brakes, boost, or gravity inversion. Some levels also feature vehicles. There is also an alternate variant of each level accessible by creating a second save. These levels are harder, and require movement mastery rather than getting a lucky bounce as you might survive on in the main game.

In general, you will find the first few areas a bit stale as the game does start very easy. But you will begin to encounter "walls" where a level just seems too hard - either through a puzzle that doesn't make sense, or just execution difficulty. Taking breaks and trying again later, or bouncing around to other areas to play different levels, gives you the space to come back and push through the challenge.

Overall, I found completing the entire game to be satisfying, coming back periodically to knock out whatever stopped me last session, and making constant progress. The hidden stars - once you learn what their exit locations look like - are a satisfying way to find alternate exits in the marked stages.

On a sale, this game is absolutely worth picking up for ~8 hours of spherical platforming challenges.

A beautiful puzzle platformer, cast in a lovely ever-changing set of worlds, in which most of the colour is found in the background.

You play as a ball, or sphere, as the game describes it, and you have to use your environment to complete a large collection of puzzles. Some levels allow you to flip gravity, to brake, to sprint or dash, some levels even have pinball paddles for you to control, or contraptions for you to ride. There's tons of obstacles to discover, and in some cases, use to your advantage.

Looking at the art style, I had an inkling who developed the game, and lo and behold, I was correct. The same person who created the Knytt series, created this, and it shows with how much passion was poured into it. Honestly, you should really give this game a go, it's criminally underrated and will pose a serious challenge in certain sections!

[h3] Un bon jeu de boule ? [/h3]

NightSky est plutôt un bon jeu mais destiné à un public assez spécifique. En effet, il s'agit ici de contrôler une boule dans des environnements plutôt loufoques. Personnellement, c'est pas trop mon délire. Il y a deux modes de difficulté qui se bouclent en 10 heures environ, et il faut s'attendre à du [i] die & retry [/i] dans l'un d'entre eux.

Ce jeu m'a plus énervé que passionné. Il y a parfois un côté aléatoire dans la jouabilité car j'ai remarqué que des mouvements identiques de la boule produisent des résultats différents sur l'environnement. Il est souvent impossible de prédire le résultat de l'intéraction de la boule avec ce qui l'entoure, ce qui oblige à toujours progresser en tâtonnant et donc en "mourrant" très régulièrement (en difficulté alternative). On se retrouve aussi dans des situations grotesques à essayer de manœuvrer des coucous qui font n'importe quoi ; bonjour les sensations de jeu peu agréables... Les développeurs de Nicalis, Inc. ont une bien drôle d'imagination.

Et pour finir, l'assignement des touches de la manette (Xbox) est complètement insensée : B pour valider, Select pour revenir aux menu précédents... et elle est non paramétrable.

Ce jeu devrait toutefois plaire mais à un public très restreint.

중간중간 퍼즐요소도 있지만, 대부분은 구슬을 어떻게 움직이는지가 중심이 되는 내용으로, 구슬이 관성을 세게 적용받는데도 빠르게 움직이도록 요구하는 스테이지가 많아서, 조작에 완급조절이 중요한 게임이었습니다. 구슬회전을 동력 삼아 탈것을 움직이는 스테이지라거나, 중력역전으로 천장을 타고 움직이거나 장애물을 피해 화면 중간에서 계속 떠서 움직이도록 버튼을 타이밍 맞춰 누르는 스테이지 등, 구슬을 굴리는 것만이 아닌 다양한 방식의 스테이지가 준비되어 있어서 중간중간 질리지 않도록 만들어 주는 점도 마음에 들었습니다. 스테이지 구분도 확실해서 간식용으로 삼기에도 좋았구요.
마지막 스테이지 열기 위해 지난 스테이지에서 아이템 모아와야 하는 점은 조금 번거로워서 싫었지만, 틈틈이 하기에 만족스러운 게임이었습니다.

NightSky is another brief indie game. It appears it was originally created in Flash or using some other simple engine. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, except that the “full version” you can purchase is still just a tiny player on your desktop. The lack of resolution or audio options really kills what would otherwise be a glowing experience.

Atmospheric music and “limbo-like” shadow silhouette visuals create a very nice experience for this 2D marble puzzle game, but its short length and lack of higher resolution graphics really make this difficult to recommend for more than three or four bucks. It’s bite-sized, and feels more like an iOS app store outing than a full-fledged PC title.

It's not my favorite Nifflas game, but this one is still nice to replay every once in a while. Picked up in Humble Bundle 7, Nightsky is a physics puzzler from the era I would call "relaxcore" -- the series of zen-setting and ambient music puzzlers that appear initially relaxing but often prove devilish in their execution. Osmos comes to mind as another example. The soundtrack is fantastically serene, matching the pastel gradients of the backgrounds, and the various machines/vehicles were one of my favorite parts of the game. Excellent execution of a simple control scheme to a variety of situations. If you're stuck, be sure to check what every key does on that screen!

I only played the normal versions of the levels, but they didn't prove too difficult. A guide can be helpful for obtaining the stars, as the locations to explore aren't always apparent. At the end of the day, you will complete this game by your own skill rather than by having known where things are and which buttons to press.

NightSky is a short puzzle/platformer where you are a little sphere rolling through the levels. This game has some interesting set pieces, and some fun mechanics that make it worth a playthrough. NightSky has no cohesive story at all, it mentions at the beginning that you found a sphere on the beach and start having weird dreams, but never once revisits that at all, and just ends when you complete all of the levels. Ultimately this game has some cool puzzles and vehicles to control, but a lack of story and mostly forgettable gameplay leaves this game in a position to only be worth a single playthrough.

Игру, как и полагается игре, возглавляет игровой процесс. Физическая модель выжата на 100%. Вы может и не начнёте [i]понимать[/i] законы сохранения энергии, импульса и момента импульса, но начнёте их хотя бы приблизительно [i]ощущать[/i]. Игра вполне преодолима без прохождения, но достаточно сложна, чтобы заставлять притормозить и подумать если не в основных уровнях, то в альтернативных (усложнённых) уж точно.

As every other Nifflas game, is very relaxing, very beautiful and very atmospheric. Puzzles for the first run are very simple, didn't get stuck on any.
It has some bugs, and the ending cutscene is bugged and do not play, but the game itself is worth it just for the atmosphere created by the graphics and music combination.

I have read, however, that this is a downgraded version of some other draft; investigate to find out where to get the original, and supposedly better, one, before you get the Steam version. Very short amount of decent designed levels in the main game mode. Those levels you finish in minutes but they are great. After that is just a mess of poorly design and maximum level of annoyance. If you like to 100% games just skip this. Otherwise only get it on a good sale but you probably will find a better deal.

My favourite platformer. I have been in personal contact with the developer, Nicklas Nygren, which enriched my appreciation of the game even more. I first played it on iOS in 2014, and have been playing it ever since. Unfortunately, it was removed from the store.

I enjoyed the first 4 hours or so, where I was playing the normal (or easy) mode.
And I would have recommended this part. It's a fun and casual little game and with a bit of thinking and some practice it is solvable.

The alternative story is infuriating.
There is no sense of accomplishment anymore. Some levels I tried, tried again, and tried again, only to check the walktroughs to see if I've missed something. Oftentimes it turns out I'm just not good enogh to control this little ball.
It is frustrating that you know the solution, but you cannot get there, because your hand-eye-coordination is just a bit off. Nuances.
Worst of all, there might be a few screens after another, like two or three parts, where you always have to do the first parts again. (And again, and again, …)

I probably still try to finish this, but it'll take a few more sessions spread out over a couple of months (or years, or decades, …).

I like the game very much, its very relaxing when you wait for something or you are bored with other games, like a small universe of joy and calm feeling. One of the best games in my list. With all the strong force i recommend this game, piece of peace.

This game is gorgeous.

Fairly simple puzzles, with a few making you sit and think for a moment, but you feel like you're mostly there for the ride.

Very atmospheric, with the art and the music.

If you're into puzzle games I'd throw this one up there with Your Doodles Are Bugged, Crayon Physics Deluxe, World of Goo, and Blocks That Matter.

Just an overall decent/relaxing puzzle game.

Has serious quality issues - default controls are garbage, and you cannot re-bind any of them. Sometimes the hint tells you to press the wrong button. Even just navigating the menu is clunky and it's easy to close the game by mistake.

Fun physics puzzle game that dares to ask "what if you were a marble infused with the soul of a spider, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Captain Viridian?"

Story is limited to a little blurb at the start - it feels more like an artistic endeavour with the gradient backdrops that appear in each stage. It starts off simple enough, and does slowly ramp up difficulty over the course of the game. Then the Alternative Levels will push the limits of the game's engine, needing some real natty movement to get from stage to stage. And don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for weird bits in the architecture, as there's [i]secret stars![/i] Not quite so frustrating as Braid's stars, and will also unlock a whole set of stages as opposed to a weird alternate ending. Doing both sets of levels will help round out the play-time as well - it took me roughly 8 hours to hammer out all the stages, and I'll freely admit I had to look up some of the stages on the web, since the solutions felt rather esoteric even to [i]me[/i].

I got it in a bundle, so I got it cheaper, and I feel I got my money's worth in that regard. Would I have paid £7 for it? I don't rightly know, but then that's the nature of these games - I don't know if I'll enjoy 'em, and if I don't, I got several other games with the bundle. Which is to say, if you like physics platforming games with a simple control scheme and a good number of levels to keep you entertained, you can do [i]so[/i] much worse than NightSky - I know that from experience! If it's on sale though? DEFINITELY grab it.

Definitely not a $10 game, so wait for it to be on sale. I quit near the end when there was a part that required you to go back and re-play older levels to get hidden stars... not interested in that. Until then, it was fun but nothing too incredible. It's worth $5 if you can get it on sale and it'll keep you busy maybe 2 hours.

Хорошая головоломка на физику. Чтобы пройти расширенную сложность нужно быть человеком-пауком - недостаточно уже знать как пройти уровень, иногда это просто зубодробительный челлендж "попробуй сделай это, попробуй сделай то".
Очень приятные задние фоны и расслабляющая музыка.

купился на визуал, оказалась какя-то поделка реально однообразная. катается фарфоровый шарик по абстрактным каким-то херовинам, на мобилах игры в десятки раз лучше есть, чем это.
