When you get mid game and start unlocking illustrations, cartography, and photography the game does a TERRIBLE job of introducing this. There are like 4 or 5 different steps to photography, each with it's own station and it doesn't tell you any of this. I ruined multiple days trying to figure out how to print photos and having to restart from previous save or just having to cancel the story. Tbh I still don't know how to do it or what stations I need.

Вторую половину игры я накидывал репортажи не глядя, за исключением случаев когда нужно было побить рекорд по количеству напечатанных экземпляров. Большая часть из того что предлагает игра вообще не нужно для успешного прохождения, так как затраты растут непропорционально доходам. За исключением того что навязывает сама игра по сюжету. Без картографа, художника и фотографа не победить боссов других газет. Но при этом для них нужно еще три специалиста. Их цепочки оооочень длинные и медленные, что первое время идет только в минус. Вы просто не успеваете в срок. Рекомендую сразу купить все предметы для улучшения характеристик фотографа и остальных специалистов по графике. Еще рекомендую не ждать пока журналисты поднимутся по лестнице, а мышкой подтягивать их к пневмопочте или кликнуть по журналисту и мышкой перетащить статью в стол наборщика. Это экономит огромное количество времени!
При победе над боссами нам предлагают новые типы зданий - высотка (более узкие этажи) и широкие этажи. Но играть повторно не хочется. Было бы лучше если можно было при победе переехать в новое здание.
Разные фракции дают бонусы, но по факту что-то существенное можно получить только у мэра и военных. Да и то самое вкусное они дают в конце, когда игра уже почти пройдена. Например более дешевая постройка этажей - когда до неё дойдешь уже сто лет как все построено и отлажено!
В общем игра сначала радует интересными механиками, но как только они освоены, то она уже не может предложить что-то новое. Выпуск газеты становится рутиной и убийством времени.
А еще музыка. Она неплоха, но эта мелодия одна на всю игру! И она отпечатывается в памяти. Я выключил её полностью через 4 часа игры.
И раздражающая система сохранений. Сохранение происходит в последний день, перед выпуском газеты. Поэтому каждый раз когда вы заходите в игру или если вы хотите переиграть неделю, то начинаете вы с выпуска газеты! А потом просмотр отчета, который нельзя пропустить. Нужно дождаться проигрывания всех анимаций и кликнуть далее и так раз 5. Ужасно бесит когда это уже ваша 40 газета и вам абсолютно не интересен этот отчет.

但是后续随着版面扩大，需要报道新闻逐渐增多，需要的新闻标签更加复杂，再加上派系和风格限制，玩起来自由度偏低，容易陷入重复劳动
另外前中期资金真的很紧张，需要精打细算，尤其新增照片真的很容易破产
不仅照片需要3台设备+3个员工，员工处理起来真的很慢，基本都要下周才能弄好……
I liked the settings and many of the smaller mechanics.
But I think the game lacks those satisfying moments when you look at what you have created, and get impressed, even slightly, with your work.
I don't get it from this game. My tower is 10-story high and most of it is just fine. It's very basic. I don't have room for improvements and frankly the game isn't challenging enough to require them.
Your staff level up from week to week so become more efficient with time without you doing anything, and the game doesn't add challenges to balance that. Unlocking the tech is too slow, and forces you to choose between upgrades that boost performance and items that game adds small doses of flavor to the game.
The story and settings seems interesting but they are too far away to be meaningful. Fighting to gain dominance in emerging 30s news market seems like a really interesting concept, but I never felt it here. Other papers aren't dynamic, just blank factions to steal stronghold from. New technologies don't feel like innovation, you just kind of grab them on the way.
If you want chill, I think that there are other chill management game out there.
I had a hard time to catched up with the phase because the text and button is too small on Steam Deck.

I like it so far. The music and animations are tight and the gameplay is interesting enough.
I do wish it was a little more freeform. I restarted several times trying to get a good Crime/Politics paper going and was skipping all the other topics not realizing that wasn't going to work out. That being said I see the appeal for people that want more goals and direction.
I didn't get too far in, so I can't really speak to the late game, but it's a solid play for at least a few hours.

riesce a tenere viva l'attenzione del giocatore con un livello di difficoltà adeguato e obiettivi sempre diversi che ti portano a ragionare ogni volta sulle priorità strategiche.
Altra nota di merito è che per migliorare il proprio ufficio o i propri dipendenti bisogna superare delle prove e questo è davvero coinvolgente. La musica è azzeccatissima e accompagna molto bene durante il gioco. Bella la grafica.
Manca la lingua italiana purtroppo e non posso giudicare sulla rigiocabilità del titolo non avendolo ancora finito ( le partite sono lunghe in compenso ). Chissà cosa ci proporranno gli sviluppatori in futuro con patch e dlc che spero arrivino. Ottimo lavoro

A fun game that you can play without having to get too deep.
I’ve played longer than the stats show. This is truly a great game that has kept me interested for many Mondays—my usual gaming day.
It’s not necessarily the kind of game you play for hours and hours, day after day. Instead, it’s perfect to pick up from time to time and print a few newspapers.
The strong side of the game is its very addictive core loop. You print newspapers, unlock new features, expand across the map, and gain more subscribers. Everything contributes to building a larger newspaper empire. A good game always balances achievement with resistance, and this one hits the right pace for me. Progress comes steadily enough to keep things interesting. Since the game focuses on producing a single thing—the newspaper—it has to do that well, and it does. There are enough engaging mechanics along the way, such as shaping public perception and completing smaller tasks connected to the territories you want to take over.
The main weakness may also be part of its strength: the loop is so central that I find myself taking breaks between sessions (usually playing weekly) to keep it fresh. I also sometimes struggled to keep track of all my reporters and the many half-finished reporting trails. There is a small notification when one case in a chain is completed, but it’s easy to miss.
These are fairly minor issues, though. As of spring 2026 the game is still actively supported, with developers continuing to add content, so some of these things may well be improved over time.
A DLC could help expand the content further and prolong the overall playtime. There might also be ways to reduce the sense of repetition that can build up from week to week.Another possibility would be new types of reporting and editorial mechanics. Investigative journalism could involve longer story chains, hidden leads, whistleblowers, or risks of backlash from powerful groups. Cultural reporting, war correspondence, or financial journalism could each introduce new mechanics and influence different parts of society.
The game could also deepen the internal management of the newspaper itself. More developed newsroom systems— rival newspapers reacting to your stories, or editorial debates over the tone of coverage—could add layers without breaking the core loop. This would keep the central mechanic of producing newspapers intact while giving players more meaningful decisions.
Awesome game with an unexpected deep. Rich gameplay, lot of tricks and good ideas inside. I have played a copy before buying the original game to congratulate the devs. Honestly, this game rocks !

Super fun and surprisingly in-depth! I love a good tycoon game, and came across this on my recommendations. I was instantly interested in the art style and the premise of being in the 1930s. I was surprised by how in-depth the mechanics are, and enjoyed how you're eased into it. Progression feels really nice, and I love the interactions with the different factions and slowly expanding stuff you can add onto your newspaper!
I'm sure there are more than a few of us who are playing this because we are or were in the newspaper business at one time. I spent pretty much the first half of my professional career in newspapers as a copy editor (parts of typesetter, assembler, and photo engraver were all in my job duties.) I've got almost 95 hours in the game, and I started playing when it was still in Early Access.
News Tower is a tycoon/management game about running a weekly newspaper in New York City at the start of the Great Depression. The gameplay loop is pretty straightforward: at the beginning of the week, you send your reporter out to get stories and bring them back in time to be published on Sunday. You have a staff at your disposal, and the tutorial is very good at teaching you what everyone does. You'll eventually add illustrators, graphics, and ads, and you'll need people to manage those aspects of the game as well.
Setting it right after the 1929 stock market crash is inspired. It gives the player a place to start that grounds them in an important place and time in history. And it [i]feels[/i] like you're in that time and place. The music, the look of the buildings, the way everyone's dressed - but most importantly, the [i]stories.[/i] You're reporting on news from all across the country, but you're in New York. And that matters. Babe Ruth. Lou Gehrig. Charles Lindbergh. FDR. You win not only by telling these stories, but by how you tell them.
The game doesn't let you get complacent. You have to build. You have to add pages. You have to expand. You have to make choices. You'll get the attention of factions in the city with their own agendas, and I think managing their demands while also trying to accomplish what you want to accomplish as a player is the most difficult part of the game. But right now, that part also feels unfinished [spoiler] - likely because the game effectively stops at the end of 1939. The military faction, specifically, feels like it will be much more fleshed out once the inevitable expansion in the 1940s and World War II happens, [/spoiler] though that's probably a ways off.
News Tower feels like a niche game at first, and it probably is as a tycoon period piece about newspapers. But I think there's a lot here for strategy fans in general. It's challenging at times, but it's never overwhelming. There's clearly room to expand the world and the story, and I wonder how far the developers can take it before a [b]massive[/b] in-universe technological shift is needed. It's a good game that does what it does very well, and I'm interested to see where it goes from here.

When i bought game,i expected a storyline through our interactions with factions both in Europe and North America. Getting paid for printing fake news for political parties or by governments, laying our loyalty to certain faction across worldwide (US Congress,US,Labors,German Influence,Soviet influence etc.) since its 1930 printing simulator which extends until 1940's. As you can see, my expectations are not even filled. I realized its a simple simulator game with 1930's aesthetics. Pressing and faction mechanics should have been more creative. In current state its too simple and boring after first few hours. You just doing same things over and over again without any interesting content. Not even worth its sale price. I played better simulations on my phone for free. But if you only want to kill some time like i did, go on. Thats a good choice.

Es un buen juego de gestión de recursos, con un tono similar al Project Highrise, pero en mi opinión mucho más legible. Tiene las mecánicas del periódico además que son interesantes y el bucle de juego es muy entretenido.

挺好玩的，美术风格很喜欢，游戏背景音乐也很有代入感。新闻题材很新颖，而且新闻文案类型很多，如果认真阅读真的挺有趣的。虽然还没玩到游戏后期，但是算是解锁了地图上的中央区域，已经开始重复性非常高了。
基本上就是每回合选择不同的新闻类型攻略，获取订阅数。对于不同党派还没有深挖，游戏没有强制需要完成党派的任务，但是总感觉有党派倾向没有提供什么好处。建造的部分挺有趣的，不过总有没有办法解决的问题，比如印刷附近的温度、透气度，建造起来成就感不足，而且建造无法拖动多个组件移动或者复制真的有点难受。
这些主要还是优化操作上的问题，总体还是很推荐的。
I do love this game, but they have a mechanic in there that annoys the hell out of me. You got events when you open up the single articles to write about. Those are solved by clicking on one segment out of 3 next to each others when an arrow circles between those 3 segments.
You need to catch the arrow in time when it is in the segment you want to choose. But the arrow hops often not to where you clicked and caught it, but into any segment that you did not want. The developers did that on purpose, so that you need to hire people that can avoid this crap. What if you don't have any available, then you are screwed or you reload and try again till you just smash your head against your screen :P
Not fun if you are good at catching the arrow in time to let you down like that! It really ruins the fun.
Other than that this game is a brilliant retro game and if you love managing and building up a business it is a lot of fun to play!

Am really enjoying this game. Chasing all the different topics to dominate a district or beating a rival to a scoop is more fun than I'd expected. I don't mind the repetitiveness either.
Would be nice if you could set a maximum stock on hand for auto ordering - I stopped using it as it would order so much paper, more than what's needed.

According to these guys the main challenges for a newspaper manager in the 1930 is NOT the economy, not mobsters, not corruption oh no no no!... The main challenge is where you put your crapper so your guys don't waste time walking. WHAT A WASTE!
This is just a fancy themed Tetris. You match shapes and colors. You can't role play as the ultimate sports newspaper. The game won't allow it. You don't push your idealistic guys until they resign or get wacked by the powers be. Just find the gold shapes and put them next to the other gold shapes and then watch the score go up. Yay!

Es gibt echt viel kann nicht alles nennen zb gibts konkurrenz wo es manchmal echt tricky ist die zu schlagen, genauso wie upgrades und der komfort der mitarbeiter... es gibt so viel zu beachten damit die Zeitung gut verkauft wird! muss aber ehrlich sagen dass es mir die 25 euro nt wert sind ich habs woanders für 15 gekauft.
Also in dem Spiel kann man aber auf jedenfall viele Stunden spielzeit erwarten!
Easily one of the best games in my collection. I enjoy just sitting back and relaxing, solving the "puzzle" that assembling the paper presents. Also, this might have the best in-game soundtrack I've heard in a very long time!

由于我的个人偏好，我更喜欢Project Highrise那种游戏。那里的大楼不需要你亲自做许多事情，只需要规划就好。

It's the perfect management game
Great Management sim, that throws at you new challenge as you grow bigger and bigger, richer and richer by looking for new stories to sent your reporters to, then get those stories and work on the them to be edited, and printable with the help of your typists and assemblers.
It is very strategic and offer good replay value, specially with the faction mechanic where raising your reputation with one will lower it with someone else. Pick your side!
You also have to mind your readers where some prefer sensational stories and other prefer informational ones. In all, a lot of mechanics and decision to make and plan.
The map is also interesting as you try to figure out what path where to go first to unlock buildings which offers new perks, items and functionalities like automated delivery of paper for example, or unlock a new clock to raise the prestige, or again buy a module to make your printer press bigger so you can add pages to the newspaper.
Then there is the building management, how to get the maximum of things in the less amount of space as possible, all that with keeping your staff happy, make sure they fed and can go to the restroom, and of course leveling their skills. Thank Lord they never sleep.
All your decisions have impact.
The game very satisfying when your plan come to fruition and see results of your decision. Even the pacing is great in my opinion. You can just do one month and save, and come back later. Now beware it can be very addictive and you get hooked in the usual "One more turn", before you know it is 4am.

Most management games like this typically fall apart after a few hours of poking at the system. There often is just not enough to juggle.
Not the case here, closing in on 20 hours and I can still feel myself getting a better sense of how the pieces fit together, how to optimize further. This isn't exactly a genre with hidden depths. What you see on the store page is what you get. The depth is there though that many management games just can't muster to give this one legs.
Hearing complaints helps give a sense on where frustrations may be that would turn you off. So I've got a major "this stops me from being able to engage the fun core decision making" level complaint, and a smaller game experience complaint.
My big complaint is that you can't look at a news piece and get any sort of stats on it's production time. How long was it waiting for an editor? Or the assembler? Did it need to wait for a courier to move it between floors? The game tries to give you an ETA projection on completion for in-process articles, but those are a fairly dumb "if the article continues to be processed from right now and on, with no delays between steps." The game's saving grace is that the flow between stations is fairly straight forward, and so you can roughly eyeball if there's a limiting step. Putting a number on how much that delay is costing you is another matter. But you can at least identify where the problem is. Still, would be nice to have the hard numbers in front of me if I find certain articles aren't being finished in time for press. My restart was oriented around making sure I had these stages co-located to help assess where back-ups were occurring.
And as a smaller issue: I also wish some of the interstitials when you tally up the score for the week were faster. Don't care much for the flavor dialog boxes. But we're talking maybe 5~10 extra seconds broken up across several screens.
As some great flavor, the overwhelming majority of the headlines are pinned (reasonably close) to when they occurred in real life. Could have had mix-and-match stems to build generic headlines from be the bulk, but those are fairly small bit pieces to pad out your pages. I appreciate that extra work they took.

What I really like about this game besides the satisfying tower building and optimizing is that it utilizes real life news stories. It puts in perspective just how crazy the 1930s were month to month, leading up to world war 2.
It paints a picture that you almost could not imagine a world war of some sort breaking out with the drastic increase in extremist ideologies from all spectrums.
This is a good clicker game. A bit of thinking and planning ahead is needed at times.
It does take a little while to get used to it all, and figure things out.
Super super addictive, love this game. Very hard sometimes but if you plan ahead it will all be ok.
喜欢杀时间经营游戏的可以考虑，玩了十几个小时感觉自己似乎还没有入门。作为参考，我也喜欢玩星露谷、潜水员戴夫、饥荒、泰拉瑞亚这类游戏，不玩就很长时间不玩，一开玩就没日没夜地肝。

This game is pure relaxation for me. It's engaging but never hectic, it has challenges but no great moments of pressure. Once you've figured it out, everything falls into place and yet the game never gets boring, not least because of all the (historically real) news items and the charming little quirks. The graphics aren't flashy but stylish and the soundtrack is absolutely killer, I love it. If manager games interest you even a little bit, this will most certainly have something to offer to amke it worth your time.

Во-первых, почему-то сломался редакторский стол и теперь все новости идут к редактору, а не к сборщикам.
Во-вторых, постоянно повторяются американские новости, хотя это я, может быть, уже просто придираюсь.
в-третьих, никак не реализованы автобусы и поезда.
А так затягивает сильно, музыка приятная, лучший таймкиллер)

An amazing management sim and tycoon game where you run your own newspaper in the 1930s. New mechanics are regularly made available so that you always feel like there's something new but its not overwhelming, and the core gameplay loop is really satisfying as well!
The specific thing that triggered this positive review was that I haven't played this game for a few weeks and saw that it had an update, read the update - and the update fixed one of the most annoying bugs in my previous playthrough. I think that's really cool so here's a thumbsup. (Eleventh Hour not triggering, big thanks to the specific developer that fixed that bs)
The game itself currently has a bit of a learning curve and can seem bland but complicated at first, I wanted to drop it the first time I played it. But I restarted with the accumulated knowledge and binged my first playthrough. Really recommended.
Game is super chill and sounds are crisp, but if you like me thought this will be perfect game for steam deck you will probably have to wait, its not very well optimized and UI was created for PC withour console support. Maybe in futute they will add it so I can come back to the game

走上流社会故事线，曾经为了报导金主妈妈老公的死讯而刷掉几条贪腐犯罪甚至地方屠杀新闻，但最后和夫人一起美美花死老公遗产做成了流动图书卡车项目，你老公死得太有创意了。
最喜欢的游戏特点就是跟着新闻速览1930s社会变迁，开了欧洲电台后all in纳粹相关，故事线最后二战爆发出版社离开纽约去欧洲做新闻，大感动……

Great Game. Of course the game will feel a little repetitive, but that's not the point of the game. The point is optimizing the game loop: Where to place your staff, what to train your staff, what to buy to maximum gain with limited item.

喜歡畫風、大樓佈置，以及個人認為經營1930年代的報社非常浪漫。
記者們非常讓人佩服，完全是高危工作，常住院，還會有黑幫衝進報社打砸。
有點可惜的是重複性略高，到中後期基本上就是固定的流程，變化較少。

News Tower, c’est le jeu qui te fait comprendre que diriger un journal dans les années 30, ce n’est pas juste écrire “IL SE PASSE DES CHOSES” en gros titre et aller boire un café.
Tu commences en mode “petit journal indépendant”, et deux heures plus tard tu es en train de restructurer trois étages à 3h du matin parce que ton service politique bloque la production du numéro du lendemain.
Le principe est simple : envoyer tes reporters couvrir des histoires, gérer leur moral, leurs compétences, leurs caprices… et décider si tu veux informer le public ou vendre du sensationnel bien croustillant. Éthique journalistique ou gros titres scandaleux ? Le jeu te regarde droit dans les yeux et te dit : “Alors, patron, on fait de l’information ou on fait de l’argent ?”
Un jeu qui te rappelle que l’information est un pouvoir… surtout quand elle doit rentrer dans le budget.

Pleasantly surprised. The game has a surprising amount of depth and I was surprised how well the story grabbed me. I've been craving story and decision heavy gameplay for some time now, and while this doesn't feel like some kind of Bioshock decision making gravitas, it does feel like you're constantly working on building your own brand of paper.
Good game overall, but way too repetitive. You have basically seen everything after 6 hours of gameplay. The only difference in the endgame is small additions, but you’ve already seen everything the core game has to offer after exploring just one-third of the map.
Don’t be tricked by the demo. There is approximately everything in it, and you won’t get much more content in the full game. There are no major gameplay changes or important new mechanics when buying it — just more time to play and small additions that increase micromanagement.
You end up playing this game by pausing every time you need to do something and fast-forwarding when you have to wait.
Good, but lacking interest and depth.
