New Tales from the Borderlands przenosi nas na Prometheę, ale tym razem patrzymy na nią oczami zwykłych mieszkańców, a nie vault hunterów – i to naprawdę fajnie zmienia perspektywę. Fabuła jest przyjemna, potrafi nieźle rozbawić i zaskoczyć zwrotami akcji, a każda z postaci ma swój wyraźny charakter, dzięki czemu szybko się w nie wczuwasz i przejmujesz ich losami. Grafika stoi na bardzo dobrym poziomie – masa detali, ładne oświetlenie i widać, że ktoś włożył w to robotę.

Minigry to już bardziej mieszanka. Niektóre pomysły, jak Vaultlanders, są mega ciekawe i dają frajdę, ale mechanika wciskania non stop jednego przycisku to totalna porażka – leniwe, nudne i zero wyzwania. Mogliby to zrobić bardziej wymagająco, z większą inicjatywą gracza i jakimiś klikanymi sekwencjami, które faktycznie dawałyby satysfakcję, zamiast nudzić.

Moim zdaniem gra wymaga poprawy w wielu segmentach, ale mimo wszystko daje dużo frajdy i nie zasługuje na aż tak negatywny odbiór – warto ograć, szczególnie jeśli lubisz historie z uniwersum Borderlands.

First off keep in mind the game was made during the COVID quarantine.

That being said the game is 3/10 at best.

The story starts off interesting but gets stagnant by episode 4. The final episode 5 feels 3 times as long and unnecessary compared to the previous ones. I would have much rather preferred the final boss being defeated by the Eridium phasing tech bait ending than a “power of friendship punch”. The dialogue is corny, some jokes land but most are cringe. Labelling Fran as pansexual is just an excuse to let her be a creepy hyper sexual constantly making mouth to mouth jokes, especially when she’s shown as a parental figure at times. Octavio’s friends are wasted potential, the Eridium device and where it phases things/people is forgotten (TIMM-E appears somewhere in the quantum realm???)

Lastly, they let every stupid wound heal and bring back people from death using the green Eridium but Stapleface is sacrificed for shock value???

This game came out over 2 years ago apparently and I've owned it for about 2 years and haven't completed the first episode yet, and don't really care to. Got this game key for 1 eur, knew it was bad so i wasnt expecting much but i like the artstyle of borderlands so i was atleast on board with that. Experience was Painfully Mediocre, you dont do much other then watch extremely long cutscenes and click a few buttons time to time. Each episode maybe has one singular section you can actually move and do stuff in which is a shame because everything is beautifully modeled and made, all of the locations look good. Story on the other hand, not so great, its like they decided to put all the edgy, cringey, lqbtq, woke garbage into one game and for some odd reason thought it would do well. i dont have anything against that if its done tastefully and actually benefits the story but this doesnt, everyone in the group just has to have some quirk to them because we cant have a group of normal dwellers. they couldnt even do justice for Rhys or any of the previous characters from the first game but in all honesty the borderlands games never had any groundbreaking writing in the first place. i did like the robot dude, he was decent.

L'idea è quella di costruire un sequel di uno dei giochi più apprezzati della saga, interamente basato su scelte e narrativa, che ha introdotto alcuni tra i personaggi più memorabili di Borderlands: che cosa mai potrebbe andare storto?

Tutto, a quanto pare. Soprattutto se non hai scrittori decenti da mettere sul progetto. New Tales from the Borderlands è infatti un impoverimento sotto ogni punto di vista rispetto al predecessore sviluppato da Telltale. I personaggi, principali e non, sono piatti, caricaturali e davvero poco incisivi. La storia passa di palo in frasca, senza nessuna vera direzione e fallendo completamente nel presentare momenti genuinamente divertenti. Non mi stancherò mai di ripeterlo: scrivere una commedia funzionante è spesso molto più difficile che scrivere una buona storia drammatica. Gli scrittori provano continuamente a farti ridere, a creare situazioni surreali, con l'unico drammatico risultato di farti provare continuamente imbarazzo.

Già, proprio imbarazzo. Le scene sono montate male e la regia è pessima, è come se in alcuni momenti il mondo si fermasse per farti assaporare lentamente la scenetta del personaggio di turno, completamente decontestualizzata e condita da una battuta fuori luogo. Il resto purtroppo è noia: in molti frangenti dei cinque episodi che compongono l'avventura mi sono trovato letteralmente a sbadigliare, e non posso prenderlo che come un brutto segno.

Per carità non è tutto da buttare: alcuni momenti nell'episodio finale riescono a farti empatizzare con i protagonisti e approfondirli un po' di più, e un cameo finale mi ha fatto sorridere, ma... arriva tutto troppo tardi e troppo in fretta.

Insomma New Tales è stata un'occasione davvero sprecata, se mai decideranno di tornare su questa sotto serie spero lo facciano con scrittori migliori (che dovrebbero avere, visto il buon lavoro con Wonderlands e, a quanto ho sentito, con Borderlands 4, che a breve giocherò) e con più focus, per dare davvero giustizia allo splendido Tales originale. Con questo capitolo decisamente non ci sono riusciti.

The problem isn’t the inclusion of diverse characters or themes — it’s that these elements often feel forced rather than organically integrated. Instead of prioritizing strong writing, character arcs, and worldbuilding, the game leans into surface‑level messaging that doesn’t enhance the narrative.

New Tales from the Borderlands isn’t a bad game, but it’s undeniably average, especially when compared to the excellent original. With more attention to storytelling and less emphasis on superficial themes and achievement‑driven padding, it could have been a worthy successor.

I have played every Borderlands game because of a huge deal that happened a few years ago. These games made me feel joy, sorrow, connection, and even attachment to the world + more. This game, I feel nothing towards. The quicktime events feel messy and out of the blue when it comes to pacing. The story feels like separate scenes mashed together based on your choice which makes some characters act one way then another when it comes to the consequences of your choices.

In this game instead of getting lost in the world, I felt.. bored. I felt no soul in the game. You can wear the clothes from a cow or a sheep, but it would never be the cow or sheep. This game is nothing like the first Tales game. I couldnt even feel the energy to finish the second chapter. I just feel like a deflated balloon.

I went into New Tales from the Borderlands expecting a fun, story-driven Borderlands experience, but what I got instead felt like a long, awkward cutscene that occasionally asks you to press a button so you don’t fall asleep. The humor rarely lands, the dialogue often feels forced, and the characters never really become interesting enough to care about what happens to them. Instead of the chaotic, clever tone the series is known for, much of the writing comes across as cringey and overly drawn out, making scenes feel longer than they need to be. The choices don’t feel particularly impactful, and by the time the story tries to build momentum, it’s hard to stay invested. For a game that relies heavily on storytelling, the story itself just doesn’t deliver. At this point, it might be best if 2K sticks to what they do best.. Making shooters because this attempt at a narrative driven game misses the mark.

Did I like this game? Surprisingly yes. Do I think it meets the standards of all other TellTale game and/or the Borderlands franchise? Absolutely not.

Its good dont great me wrong and each character is unique and memorable.

I especially liked L0uis3, he was my favorite, but man this doesnt feel like a Borderlands game and doesnt deserve its title as so.
Should have been called something else entirely and I would have been some upset with how it turned out.

Sure it has the humor of Borderlands but some jokes just get overused...ALOT. Looking at you Fran.

But its a good game and I enjoyed myself and the story as well, I just didnt like the "friendship/relationship" mechanic since it cause easily lock you out of earning all the Vaultlanders even tho I maintained a +50% on ALL of them and even 78% on one of them but since it wasnt 80%, guess what? You don't get the vault lander. Boo hoo, replay the ENTIRE game to rebuilt the relationship or no achievement for you.

Not to mention all the cosmetic are impossible to get through a first playthrough so yoy have to either cheese Episode 5 or replay the entire game.

No thanks.

Good game with a horrible gimmick to earn in game rewards.

What an absolute mess this game is, story and writing-wise. At the surface this is a rather competent and polished game, with style and charm. However, the second the story kicks off you realize that this is a game with very little coordination behind it, which makes for a game that refuses to kill darlings, goes on forever, has no clear direction and awful, and I mean AWFUL jokes and characters.

This is a story-base game in the Borderlands-universe. You play as three people that, funilly enough, have ery little connection to what Borderlands is traditionally about: Vault Hunters. Even more funny is that you actually go into a vault, rather early in the game, for about ten minutes. The rest of the game is about messing around, starting a company, trying to run sain company and failing at everything.

The game is rather pretty, if you enjoy the Borderlands-artstyle. I think it works. The soundtrack is also alright and the design-choices generally work. That is about it for positives.

The negatives mainly lie in the story, humor and writing. The characters you play as are dreadful and you dislike each and every one of them, despite you having some control over how they act and what they do. They are meant to have big flaws, but they are beyond flawed. They are beyond salvation. The problems around the story is that it is too far from Borderlands. It feels like it is set in another galaxy from Borderlands, which bothers me a lot. A story about flawed people starting and running a company feels so far away from what we are usually treated to when it comes to Borderlands. (Quick sidenote, I also do not like the Borderlands-games in general). The jokes fall flat. They lack cohesion and are very childish and cringey. They mostly feels as though they are written without direction, like they were just written to be jokes without any connection to the larger story. A lot of things feel like they are written without direction, actually. Each little segment feels like an island, and each little island has been greenlit to stay in the game. That is probably why it feels as though the game drags on so (the last episode is over two hours long and it could probably have been cut down to one without anything important being lost.

This game was mostly made with developers in quarantine during 2020 and 2021 and it shows, and that is a shame, but it does not take from the fact that it ultimately is a very bad game that I do not recommend anyone playing. It has good aspects, but the core of the game is the writing and story and it completely fails in those aspects.

Juntaram uma cadeirante, um figurante e uma esquisita pra serem os protagonistas e ficou bizarro. O nível de humor é como se fosse um todo mundo em pânico pra crianças de 8 anos num roteiro da sessão da tarde. Mas não é de todo ruim, há coisas boas nele, se todos os episódios fossem que nem o 3 nem negativo eu dava, eu cheguei a rir com vontade.

Comparando com o "old" tales from the borderlands as animações são lindas e as expressões faciais são de qualidade, os diálogos que a gente escolhe tem até um esforço a mais pra conectar com o resto da sequência. O problema é que o que importa é o roteiro, mesmo que a maioria dos personagens sejam bizarros, não é mais uma história sobre borderlands como a telltale fez antes, então esse nome "new tales" é um desrespeito total.

Right from the start, it's hard to say whether I recommend it or not. It's obvious that the game isn't made by Telltale, but it tries to look like it is. The game looks nice and runs well, but on the other hand, I didn't like the story at all, which is a shame as I'm a big fan of the Borderlands universe. На самом деле, не настолько уж и плохо как оказалось. Минусы, конечно, перевешивают, но имеет право на существование.
Очень понравилась техническая составляющая: графика, захват движений, игра актеров, озвучка. Главные герои прописаны неплохо - по большей части я верил в возможность существования таких персонажей.
Очень спорным моментом оказалась система взаимоотношений и кооперация (Skateboard). Звучит это интересно, но на практике не работает. И не потому что идея говно, а потому что она работает исключительно по логике автора сценария. А логика у него ну очень специфичная. Я её начал понимать лишь на втором прохождении.
Почему же я всё же не рекомендую: слишком много сюжетного простаивания на месте. Герои регулярно стоят на месте и балаболят ни о чем. Даже если им грозит смерть вот буквально сейчас. И цен, разумеется, неадекватная.
По хорошей скидке (от 80%) разок можно пройти.

New Tales from the Borderlands had the opportunity to build on what made the original Tales from the Borderlands so special. Unfortunately, it fails to deliver the same narrative impact, character depth, or emotional weight.

The biggest issue is continuity. While the first Tales felt like a meaningful expansion of the Borderlands universe, this sequel barely advances it. Important characters such as Fiona and Sasha are absent, and certain returning characters appear without proper development or explanation. It feels disconnected from the narrative threads that fans cared about.

The writing is noticeably weaker. The humor lacks the natural timing and charm of the original. Emotional moments do not land with the same intensity, and by the end of the game, very little of the story feels memorable. For a narrative-driven title, that is a serious flaw.

The new protagonists fail to stand out. They lack the charisma and personality that made Rhys and Fiona so compelling. Instead of evolving through player choices in a meaningful way, they often feel predefined, limiting the sense of narrative agency. In a choice-based story game, player influence should matter more than it does here.

While the game is not completely broken and can be mildly entertaining at times, it feels average at best. It survives mostly because it belongs to the Borderlands universe, not because it meaningfully enhances it.

Compared to the first Tales from the Borderlands, this entry feels like a major step down in writing, character development, and overall narrative strength.

En tant que grand fan de la série Borderlands, je pensais vraiment apprécier New Tales from the Borderlands, mais j’ai été très déçu. L’intrigue manque de rythme et d’intérêt, on ne se sent jamais vraiment impliqué dans l’histoire.
Les personnages, qui faisaient tout le charme du premier épisode, sont ici fades et peu mémorables. Et l’humour, qui était un point fort de la franchise, tombe souvent à plat et n’arrive pas à me faire sourire.

J’ai essayé de m’accrocher et de continuer à jouer, mais plus le temps passe, plus je me rends compte que je m’ennuie vraiment. Franchement, c’est décevant de voir un nom que j’adore être traité de manière aussi fade.

I've got it for free* and i think i paid to much. The best thing about first tales from the borderlands ware amazing characters and good story. Most characters of this game are just unlikable and forgettable only Brock was somewhat enjoyable to watch but he was just side character that appeared only few times. Story itself wasn't terrible but it wasn't good ether maybe with better characters and so minor changes to plot it would be good enough to make a game that is enjoyable to play. Only think that is better in this game then in original game is graphic, and game-play(quick time events etc.) but it doesn't matter. This game is just a waist of time and space on a hardrive.

I bought Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box mainly for bl3 with dlcs but I would buy it for the this same price if this game wasn't included.

Ta abominacja wyszła 3 lata temu więc nie napiszę nic odkrywczego, ale miałam potrzebę dołożenia swojej cegiełki do pozostałych negatywnych opinii, bo w ostatnich latach wszystko co związane z Borderlands jest jednym wielkim rozczarowaniem.

Tutaj po prostu wszystko jest złe i nic się nie broni. Jedyne postacie, które da się polubić to Lou, żołnierze Tediore i gadająca broń... Głównej ekipy nie da się darzyć sympatią, są nieciekawi i denerwujący. Fatalne dialogi, nudna fabuła, która w zasadzie nie dodaje nic do uniwersum Borderlands.

Nie wiem w jakim celu powstała ta gra i czemu w którymś momencie ktoś decyzyjny nie powiedział "Stop, nie marnujmy więcej kasy, nic z tego nie będzie".

The two terms I would use to describe it is "boring" and "not funny". It tries so hard to make cringy jokes but almost 90% of them do not even make you laugh at all. It genuinely has some good moments, but those moments are overshadowed by how boring it is most of the time. There is absolutely no reason to play it, you are not missing anything. When going to 100% with a guide expect to get it in 14-16h, without guides good luck.. u may have to replay the whole story multiple times in order to get the right ending.. seen players with 60+h.. madness

This game does not deserve all the negative reviews.

No, it isn't as good at the first 'Tales from the Borderlands', but neither is it awful.

The characters are fun and feel like real people. They're not supposed to be the heroic vault hunters from the mainline games. They're normal people, and normal people do sometimes have silly habits that can be a bit annoying. That doesn't make the characters badly written. They fit well into the insane world they live in.

The storyline is silly, but in a very Borderlands way. We got some interesting Eridium lore, saw more of Promethea, and Tediore had a chance to shine.

If you like narrative games, enjoy Borderlands humour, and are interested in lore and worldbuilding, I'd recommend the game. Wait for a sale and enjoy it for what it is.

Also.. Ich finde es besser als New Tales from the Borderlands. Grafisch und auch Gameplay mäßig her.
Dennoch, macht es leider keinen spaß. Wenn ich Borderlands höre, will ich Waffen sammeln und irgendwas abknallen und nicht nur 20 Minuten leuten zuhören, was nicht mal Skippable ist.
Lass mich doch wenigstens die Gespräche überspringen, ich will ja schließlich auch Spielen, nicht nur rum sitzen.

Avec environ 9 heures de jeu, New Tales from the Borderlands reprend les bases de Tales from the Borderlands et les perfectionne sur plusieurs points.

Les mécaniques narratives sont toujours aussi efficaces, avec des choix, du rythme et une mise en scène qui fonctionne du début à la fin. L’un des gros points positifs sur PC est l’ajout du support AZERTY, ce qui rend enfin le jeu confortable au clavier, là où le premier imposait quasiment l’usage d’une manette.

Les personnages sont hauts en couleur, bien écrits et très attachants.
Leur dynamique fonctionne immédiatement et l’histoire part dans des directions parfois complètement folles, tout en restant fidèle à l’humour et à l’ADN Borderlands.

La découverte de la manufacture Tediore est une excellente surprise.
Elle apporte une vraie nouveauté à l’univers et enrichit le lore de manière intelligente, rendant l’ensemble encore plus intéressant pour les fans de la saga.

👉 Conclusion
New Tales from the Borderlands est un excellent jeu narratif, fun, bien écrit et généreux.
Il modernise la formule du premier Tales tout en respectant son héritage, et mérite clairement plus de reconnaissance.

i love the borderlands series, but this is not borderlands, ive played the other tell tale borderlands and enjoyed the 8+ hours of beating that game but this one felt like to many blue hair hr types got there grubby gender confused fingers on it, ive loved staple face rather play as a psycho then the main chick that had every advantage thrown her way just to throw it away because her "device" and the release of the jabbers "why even work for atlas" a gun company, if ive played ryes strongfork she would have been let go in the job interview, her brother is just forgettable i cant remember anything about him like at all, fran was the only character at least tolerable but i would have thrown that tamagotchi fran carries around into the grease frier, the story was all over the place the tediore soldiers were the only funny parts in the whole game, 12+ plus hours played beat the game would not pay more then $5 to play this "game"

New Tales from the Borderlands is… fine. Not great (by far not), not awful, just barely in the “I don’t regret it, since I bought it in a sale” category.

The main characters are pretty dull most of the time, like someone set one aspect for each character and that's it. They do get a few good moments, but a lot of the time, you’re waiting for a joke that is bad even in the Borderlands universe.

Where the game really shines is the world-building around the mega-corporations—especially Tediore. Susan Coldwell, as the Tediore CEO, is a genuinely good villain. She has that “I’ve never been told no in my life” energy, as well as the heart of a successful business person. And the Tediore soldiers are easily the funniest part of the whole game. Every time they show up, it’s like the writers suddenly remembered comedy exists. Capturing the Borderlands comedy for just a moment, until somebody else opens their mouth again.

That said, some story choices have weird implications that mess with the Borderlands universe a bit. Nothing crazy, but you can feel the future implications that will never be mentioned again, because Randy Pitchfork wants you to forget about this game the same way, like you should forget that the Borderlands movie exists. And just like the movie, in this game, there are like three different guns, which is weird for a Borderlands game.

Playtime is about 8 hours for one run, which is fine. The real problem is the achievement replayability. The achievements are awful, and if you replay an episode, the game can mix up your old decisions and show scenes based on choices you didn’t make. It’s like the game is gaslighting you: “Are you sure you didn’t pick that?” Yes, Gearbox intern, I am sure. Total playtime at time of this review with 100% is 48 hours, but if your lucky you can get there in less.

Overall: a mediocre game with some great corporate satire and a villain who actually lands. Worth one playthrough if you like Borderlands, but don’t come in expecting anything else. If you want to play a better Borderlands Story game, i still recomment the original Tales from the Borderlands, which is surprisingly good.

Came into this thinking it's going to be irredeemable garbage, like most people I assume, and what I experienced was close to that.
I'll be comparing it to the first Tales from the Borderlands, for obvious reasons.

[h3] The Atmosphere [/h3]
This is TftB but with much more "comedy" and much less gravitas.
No scene, no matter how serious it should be, is allowed to be fully serious.
Some character, usually one of the protags, will always say something awkward or do something dumb.
[b] And the worst part is the bad guys will play along! [/b]

It makes sense Psychos don't immediately kill their enemies, they're not sane of mind.
But [b] why on Earth [/b] are Tediore Soldiers all immature morons too??
Actually come to think of it, most characters appearing in this game are immature morons.
I understand this is Borderlands which is not known for being serious but come on! Every other game atleast tried to balance the seriousness and silliness, not this game.

[h3] The Baddies [/h3]
I loved the prospect of a Borderlands game FINALLY showing us the Tediore Corporation in some large capacity, instead of only thru guns and advertisements.
This opportunity has now been squandered because throughout the entire game Tediore, Including its boss Susan Coldwell, makes ridiculous mistakes for the sake of the plot!
Numerous times Susan can kill the protags then and there and just DOESN'T!
Numerous times the protagonists are held at gunpoint by Tediore and none of them get shot!

I do have to say that the Tediore grunts are the comedy highlight here but that comes at the cost of the aftermentioned seriousness.
[b] How am I supposed to take this seriously when even the bad guys don't? [/b]

[h3] Dumbass reviving crystal plot device [/h3]
It's actually quite hard to care about death in this game when the main characters stumble upon a reviving crystal in like the second chapter that they then carry with them till the end.
Our protagonists somehow forget a few times they have it and realize only a while later they can use it.
The crystal even conveniently refuses to work once just for the sake of a side character dying. (Why did they have to kill off Stapleface??)

[h3] The Characters [/h3]
Brock, Stapleface, and Louie are straight up better than the protagonists.
They actually feel like they belong in the Borderlands Franchise. They do have their own weird quirks but they just have that vibe that the protags don't have. (All 3 also die ingame so there's that, or atleast in the ending I got.)

Not to say that the main characters are completely bad, each of them had their moments and I actually came to like Anu and Octavio at the end a little bit, but Fran was often too much to bear.
Her demeanor and constant disgusting sexual jokes were pure cringe and made me a little happy she died in the ending I got.
(And I'm not even going to discuss why the reviving crystal does not get her off her hover-wheelchair lol)

[h3] Rhys Strongfork [/h3]
It is a relatively minor gripe but I wanted to mention it anyway: the character assassination of Rhys.
I actually liked him in Borderlands 3, he's a dummy but means well. He showed that you can be a megacorp ceo and be a good person.
Then in this game he just seems like an entirely different person, a lame non-murdering Handsome Jack-like.
This feels like an alternate reality where he stayed as CEO of Hyperion with the Jack ai by his side except he still rules Atlas whose HQ is now in space for some reason, to mimic Helios I guess?
Rhys here could have been replaced by some new character and there would be no problem. This did not even need to be Atlas! If you are finally representing Tediore why not another underused megacorp like Anshin? (Who btw make stimpaks and shields which would fit Anu very well)

[h3] The Gameplay [/h3]
The QTEs are innovative in this game, you can tell they put a lot of thought into various ways of clicking one, or more, button.
It's just that there is no challenge here, I didn't find myself clicking for my life here like I did in the first Tales from the Borderlands, or any TellTale game I played for that matter.
And oh my god the Vaultlanders minigame is godawful, why did they even bother with it?
If it had even a modicum of depth it'd be cool, but all you do is mindlessly click left mouse and wasd, there is no strategy!

DEFINITELY NOT worth the, very overpriced, full price. Just get the Pandora's Box bundle on a huge sale. (I actually dont even remember how I got this game.)

Seeing how much the game is disliked I doubt the characters or events of this game will be referenced much in future installments, so don't be afraid to skip this game even if you care for the lore.
Actually if you do care just watch all cutscenes on youtube, saves you money and time.

Согласен с минусующими, но сам, пожалуй, плюсану. И не потому, что мне нравится повесточка, не за кастрированный сюжет, не за мутных ГГ, а за техническую сторону. Игра получилась действительно отполированной и приятной глазу. Даже максимально не харизматичные ГГ и те смотрятся неплохо. Есть мини-игра, которая временами выигрывает по сюжету у основной. Меню, вот тоже неплохое. Шрифт приятный..
Ну, как бы и все- плюсов больше не обнаружено, но я честно старался их найти. В остальном игра- полное фиаско.
ЗЫ: Единственный персонаж за которого хотелось бы поиграть- это робот-киллер, но и тут облом- не дадут ибо он тут статист. По сути, если ему прописать НОРМАЛЬНЫЙ сценарий и сделать игровым, те три фрика, за которых приходится играть, были бы на его фоне чуть более, чем просто незаметны.

I went in with rock bottom expectations given the review scores, and I see where a lot of people are coming from. One of the most important parts of a story rich game are the characters. And well, almost all the characters in this game are as unlikable as pineapple on pizza.

A cold monotone robot with no emotion was the highlight of the characters for me, all downhill from there. A cookie cutter shonen MC, just as annoying with none of the backstory or character depth to justify it. An anxiety ridden nerd with no social skills. And a middle aged wheelchair bound pile of anger that feels like nothing but a DEI insert. I'm truly shocked they managed to write such terrible characters.

But all that aside, the actual story and writing reminded me a lot of the first game. It was a slow burn that had a lot of well placed humor that wasnt too over the top, and some funny long running gags/bits. The addition of new quick time events was a nice touch to add a new layer of polish. So despite the terrible characters, I found myself still having a fun time along the way.

First game is 100x better and I wouldn't pay more than $10 for this game, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

It is sorta mixed experience. Please be mindful this is not "Tales from the borderlands 2" - story and flow imo is quite different. Overall it is not a bad game, despite writing being sometimes boring. I love the voice acting. Main characters are okay-ish. Side characters - I had my favourites :) (Louie 4eva). I decided to ultimately give it a negative review (cause no mixed option exists) due to the way achievements are tailored for this game and there is no skip option for the dialogue, and sitting multiple hours with very low replayability for few achievements is simply A PAIN.

This is the worst Borderlands game to date.

I had the pleasure to play the original tales from the borderlands, however this title is just a joke.

The writing is absolutely god awful, the characters are cringeworthy, boring and uninspiring.

There are plenty of scenes where the characters jump between being "serious" and "goofy" for absolutely no reason. This causes the player to not allow themselves to get invested into the story, as there are no stakes, no tension and no immersion nor significant meaning in any of the scenes.

This title also has an ??alternative?? story to the canon of Borderlands. If you have played BL3 you will be scratching your head around some bizarre decisions from the writing team.

I cannot recommend this product, you will be disappointed, this was such a let down after the strong entry of the first "Tales from the borderlands"

Yes the influence of decisions on the overall narrative is negligible, but don't let that get in the way of a good laugh at a reasonable price point!

Se você tiver a chance de pegar esse jogo de graça, não o faça. Você não vai perder dinheiro, mais perder tempo e neurônios.
Se alguém quiser dar esse jogo para você como presente, desfaça qualquer relacionamento que você tenha com essa criatura, essa pessoa não gosta de você.

Esse foi de longe um dos piores jogos que eu já joguei na vida.
Extremamente devagar e chato, a história é super desinteressante e não te prende de jeito algum, os personagens tem o carisma de uma porta, os diálogos são, frequentemente, confusos e sem essência e as piadas são simplesmente horríveis.

Somos obrigados a ficar presos com 3 personagens sem graça, com uma personalidade forçada e piadas tão ruins que eu tenho certeza que foram escritas por um monte de terceira idade querendo se enturmar com um grupo de adolescente, enquanto isso os personagens que pareciam ser interessantes e ter algum tipo de potencial aparecem em pouquíssimas cenas durante o jogo e não tem relevância nenhuma para a historia.

Sinto que eles tentaram refazer o que o primeiro Tales fez, mas faltaram algumas coisas, tipo... Tudo. O jogo é extremamente fraco, chato e forçado.

Faça um favor a si mesmo e vá jogar outra coisa, não perca seu tempo.

The story needs a couple of rewrites. It feels like it only has an act and a half of interesting content with so much filler. There are times that the scenes drag on, many jokes that just break the pacing, and a lot of times that it feels that the characters you are playing are just being dump for the story and you have no agency in controlling them. It does have a couple neat side characters, but they don't get enough time to full develop.

I would not recommend this.

O problema começa quando esse jogo não apresenta nenhuma característica que poderia ser integrada como parte da franquia Borderlands. Claramente uma tentativa da empresa em aproveitar a onda de cultura Woke, ou vender com o sucesso de seu antecessor o "tales from the borderlands"
Sinceramente, esse jogo apenas no COMEÇO da campanha se mostra um pouco interessante, mas isso em apenas alguns minutos, logo o jogo se torna repetitivo e sem carisma nenhum. Tales from the borderlands foi apresentado com personagens unicos e com um carisma correspondente as suas personalidades. Agora nesse jogo, parece que todos os personagens são a mesma pessoa em outro corpo. Agora focando nos personagens secundarios, que excluindo o robo assasino, todo o resto são cascas vazias quais não somam coisa alguma para a história.
Piadas vazias, e personagens com modelos estranhos e sem personalidade.

I... decided to play this "miracle." Why? I was interested in the story. I'd heard a LOT of negativity surrounding this game, and yet I decided to play it (P.S. I got the game as a result of purchasing the "Pandora Box" set).
And...
I simply couldn't finish it; I watched the ending in video walkthroughs at 2x speed.
I just don't know how to describe it. It's terrible!
The main characters are dumb, uninteresting clowns, it's painful to watch them. The dialogues are long and uninteresting, full of unnecessary information. The chaos starts almost immediately, and then ends immediately. The QTE events are easy and pose no challenges, there's no tension during the stupid "battles," which is why I sat the entire game stone-faced, feeling only emptiness. The sacredness of Vaults is completely devalued. The cringe level is at its highest throughout the game. The plot is stupid, banal, and boring. The jokes aren't funny and only make me cringe (With the exception of LITERALLY two moments. Seriously!). Atlas abandoned Promethea and is now floating around in space! Why? BECAUSE! Rhys put so much effort into Atlas JUST TO DROP IT ALL AND GO??? (Either I'm missing something, or that's how it really happened). Tediore's soldiers are complete clowns, acting like they're at a party and not an armed invasion of a planet. The people on Promethea during the invasion act like that's how things are supposed to be. WHAT IS GOING ON????? Atlas is portrayed as a completely incompetent company, even though in Borderlands 3 we saw the enormous results of Rhys's work on Atlas, BUT THE PLOT IS ♥♥♥♥, SO ATLAS SUCKS SIMPLY BECAUSE.
And most importantly. The plot of this game contributed ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It was a complete waste of time.
I don't understand how they could have made THIS after the brilliant original Tales From the Borderlands? I'm terribly disappointed. What could have happened to the developers that they could have made such a terrible game IN THE ENTIRE GAMING INDUSTRY, FOR EVER.
