B級、悪趣味、そして最高に怖い。

本作は、80年代のスラッシャー映画（殺人鬼もの）の「お約束」をあまりにも丁寧に、そして悪意を持って再現している。ド定番なロケーション、伏線踏みまくりのキャラクター達、そして絶対に死なない殺人鬼。これらを「PS1風のラジコン操作（タンク・コントロール）」でプレイさせることで、不自由さと恐怖を倍増させている点は見事だ。

特筆すべきは、殺人鬼の「胸糞の悪さ」だろう。
ただ怖いだけではない。汚らしい息遣い、被害者を痛めつける際の異常な執着、そして目を覆いたくなるようなゴア描写（後半明らかになる悪魔の所業）ウサギの着ぐるみというふざけた見た目でありながら、中身は生理的な嫌悪感を催すパーソナリティーで満たされており、「コイツには絶対捕まりたくない」とプレイヤーに本能レベルで思わせる説得力がある。

【BAD】
・あえて採用されている「PS1風ラジコン操作」と固定カメラ視点が非常に独特で、現代の操作に慣れていると、焦った時に壁にスタックしたり、方向転換できずに殺されたりと、理不尽なもどかしさを感じることが多々ある。

Výborná hororovka, ze začátku jsem si myslel že to je extrémně nudná hra, ale mýlil jsem se. Průchod hry je tak na 3-4 hodiny hraní. Hra je opravdu zábavná, hlavně když tě roztomylej králíček z Velikonoc nahání svou ostrou naleštěnou zbraní. Hra jde hrát jak z pohledu z 3 osoby tak z první osoby, což je fakt COOL.

This is one of the most overrated titles I have ever seen. Ignoring the nostalgia or whatever vibe this is satiating you are left with an embarrassingly short (under an hour if you can solve the puzzles) the graphics are janky and glitchy when you walk they warp horribly and disfigure beyond an aesthetic. It controls bad and there are other glitches as well (froze upon reading a note, crashed, glitched dialogue and stuff not progressing). Lastly the story is a 3 or 4 out of 10 at best basic slasher, not cool twists or themes. I mean it wasn't miserable but ignoring all the bugs and shortcomings the game is enjoyable for the most part just really short and really meh. For 12 dollars this is absurd and I am surprised there aren't more comments about it. No disrespect to the developers or anything like that, their other games are better.

И вновь Puppet Combo экспериментирует с подачей, в этот раз у нас хоррор в стиле классических резидентов, с камерой от третьего лица, сейврумом, инвентарём и ограниченным числом сохранений. Не могу однозначно назвать этот эксперимент полностью удачным, но сначала о хорошем. Все сильные стороны низкополигональных ретро-ужастиков на месте. Тут и, как всегда, клишированный, но довольно интригующий сюжет с отсылочками, и давящий эмбиент, ну и конечно сама картинка, подчёркивающая гротескное насилие. Особенно удался пролог, где мы играем ребёнком, застрявшим в огромном безлюдном супермаркете после закрытия. Это самая жуткая часть игры, было чертовски страшно спасаться от маньяка в костюме пасхального кролика. Далее мы переносимся во времена, когда дети перестали пропадать и о маньяке забыли. В роли ассистентки в составе съёмочной группы новостного канала отправляемся исследовать ныне заброшенный дом в глуши, в котором когда-то обитал маньяк. Разумеется убийца-психопат никуда не пропал, а лишь ждал своего часа и теперь нам предстоит в лучших традициях серии resident evil решать простенькие задачки, попутно убегая или отбиваясь от неуязвимого преследователя. Тут и влезает основной минус игры, героиней крайне неудобно управлять, особенно в напряжённые моменты, когда нужно убегать, не вписываясь в дверные косяки каждые пару метров. И это не было бы проблемой, но сохранения, я напомню, ограничены. Для того чтобы сохранять свой прогресс нужно искать, разбросанные по дому маньяка, карандаши, которых всего штук пять или шесть, если все найдёте. На финальном сражении был готов дропнуть игру, настолько надоело переигрывать из-за корявого управления. Благо в настройках обнаружил опцию включения режима от первого лица, с которой играть гораздо комфортнее. Правда всё же думаю, что изначально Murder House задумывалась как резидентлайк экспириенс, при игре от первого лица многие текстуры объектов слишком уж сильно расплываются. Ну и второй недостаток находится в самом финале. Сюжетный твист хоть и неожиданный, но он изрядно подпортил итоговое впечатление.
Не смотря на посредственный финал, игру рекомендую. Наблюдать за пасхальным кроликом, потрошащим журналистов огромным серпом было интересно, прятаться от него под лестницей тоже, как и собирать пасхальные яйца в корзинку.

I takes 5 years to get fairly competent at programming. This game is older than 5 years. It still controls like it was their very first game. I spend 20 minutes in the mall, 15 minutes of that fighting the controls, and no way out the first section.

I'm all for the low budget aesthetics, but this is janky as heck. You can teleport though a gate, which is fine, no animation needed, but then you get to a gate, which you can crawl under (the character even remarks that), and you teleport to the other side. A better design choice would be to just have the gate also closed and just teleport the player. It just shows the low level of effort and skill of the developers.

And ranting about the terrible tank controls and the camera jumping all over, seems like low hanging fruit. There is better games to spend your money on.

The janky, low poly look of this game, is not a design choice. It's very evident that the developer just doesn't have the skill or competency to make a game and improve it after 5 years.

Instead of making games, these guys should go into publishing. Looking at how well this game is reviewed, it's clear that something is off, but they figured something out.

Save yourself the hassle of requesting a refund for what's essentially "hello World".

Ein sehr gutes Retro Slasher Horrorgame. Puppet Combo schafft es mit dem PS1 Style sofort, mich in das Spiel hineinzuziehen. Es ist ein ziemlich solides Horrorgame, auch wenn ich die Story insgesamt eher mittelmäßig fand.

Besonders der Prolog hat mir am besten gefallen, da er durch die Hilflosigkeit des Kindes eine deutlich unangenehmere und gruseligere Atmosphäre erzeugt hat. Danach geht das Spiel stärker in eine klassische Slasher Richtung über, was aber trotzdem gut funktioniert und interessant bleibt.

Der VHS Filter verleiht dem Ganzen einen perfekten 80er Slasher Vibe und verstärkt nochmal enorm die Atmosphäre. Dazu hat mich die Steuerung stark an die alten Resident Evil und Silent Hill Spiele erinnert, was ich richtig gut fand.

1. 돌리로 봤을때 조작감은 너무 별로다. 1인칭 화면에서 벽이 움직인다 + 여기에 개 뜬금없이 등장하는 살인마때문에 빡침 10배 증가함
2. 세이브 포인트가 한정적이다 중요한 시점에서 저장 못하면 처음부터 다시해야함
3. 산으로 간 스토리 (갑자기 톰비중 1도 없다가 반전으로 하고 스토리 수습안되니까 영화라고 한 느낌)
4. 개같은 퍼즐, 힌트가 너무 없고 뭘 해야하는지 안알려줌 그냥 물건 하나 던져 놓고 이거 보고 알아서 꺠라고함 (도대체 왜 샷건 하나만으로 못잡게 해놓은건지 모르겠음, 권총 가지고 와야 편하게 딜이 되는것 같은데 권총 얻는거 그냥 유튜브 보고 와야 할수 있음)

Очередная игра, которая не шедевр, но и минусить по сути не за что. Ощущается винтажной, в первую очередь в ней всё сделано так, чтобы занырнуть в ту самую атмосферу слэшеров, страшных сюжетов без избыточных затей, и всё окутано ощущением ламповости, когда по экрану полосы помех бегают и хроматическая аберрация по краешку, и даже позабытый звук читаемого диска слышен на экране прогрузки, прелесть. То есть при кажущейся простоте и примитивности - к деталям разработчик проявил любовь. И поэтому я не вижу особенного смысла рассуждать о перипетиях сюжета (они есть), о глубине проработки персонажей или там актуальности стоящего перед нами конфликта. Это милый маленький артефакт из ушедшего времени, который мог бы быть тогда, но предстал перед нами сейчас. Рекомендую.

При первом прохождении кролик не появился у меня и я тупо за 20 минут прошёл всю игру не встретив его. Потом при повторном прохождении встретил его, но я приловчился, и собрал все достижения за 2-3 прохождения.
А так советую.

Это буквально лучший хоррор из тех что выходили за последние лет 15. Игра не затянутая, не душная и пугающая. За стилистику отдельный респект, очень похоже на первый сайлент хилл или даже резидент евил.

Murder House nails that classic PS1 survival-horror feel perfectly. The tank controls, fixed camera angles, and limited saves all crank the tension through the roof, and the lo-fi visuals make everything feel grimy and unsettling in the best way.

The story is dark, disturbing, and sticks with you, following a news crew trapped in the home of the infamous Easter Ripper. The atmosphere is pure 80s B-movie slasher, complete with a great retro soundtrack and some brutally fun kills.

If you love old-school horror and don’t mind a challenge, Murder House is absolutely worth playing. I loved every minute of it.

Eu tive esperança que esse jogo fosse bom e que entregaria uma experiência muito melhor que Christmas Massacre. Mas eu me enganei e vi que esse jogo é extremamente INJOGAVEL.
Os controles são uma replica do Resident Evil 2 do ps1, mas a diferença é que RE2 chegava ser melhor do que esse monte de lixo atômico. E mesmo se mudar a câmera para primeira pessoa, chega a ser horrível porque você não pode mexer na sensibilidade.
A história é mais do mesmo e não tem nada demais, o plot do assassino parece algum tipo de episódio do Scooby Doo.
E compensa mais você assistir algum vídeo dessa porcaria do que comprar esse monte de esterco de vaca

Приятный аутентичный адуиовизуал. Но нет, такие игры, как раньше, больше не делают. И слава богу. Это закос под Сайлент Хилл, но в Сайлент Хилле была не просто неудобная камера - она была намеренно расположена так, чтобы вызывать тревогу. Здесь же ты половину времени либо бежишь в камеру, либо вообще себя не видишь. Количество сохранений ограничено карандашами, которые нужно ещё сперва найти. Я серьёзно должен этим заниматься, чтобы играть в вашу парашу? Это вообще мне надо или вам? Мне точно не надо при таком раскладе. В том же СХ сохраняться можно было сколько твоей душе угодно, главное, доберись до нужной комнаты. Управление только стрелочками, НО мышью мы выбираем варианты действий и боёвка тоже на клавишах мыши. Это что вообще, это игра или очень плохой порт? Не для этого сейчас выпускают римейки старых резиков. Не для этого вышел римейк второго СХ. Не за это мы страдали в детстве в борьбе с кривым управлением и ограничениями железа. Не за это воевали деды (мы). Дроп.

Murder House is an example of why Video Games are a unique medium. Lets take the concept of the game, killer on the loose, lone heroine, supporting characters are killed. Now if this was a film, it would be a standard predictable and not very good slasher film. It would be a copy of many of its brethren of that genre, but as a game it becomes something else. It actually gives you the fear and tension that would be lacking in a film of this nature due its commonality. And its because Video Games are about taking the role of a character and becoming them. Whether its Crono from Chrono Trigger or Master Chief, video games allow you to become that role. So playing as Emma is far different than watching her. You have to explore the house, and due to that the tension hanging there like a large fog and you being that character its up to you to survive, in this anxiety ridden environment. The stakes are higher in a game, as you can die, as opposed to a movie(Mind you I don't hate film by any means, its an amazing medium, just using this to demonstrate my point)you simply will watch the film and it is static; Emma will live or die depending on who made the film. As opposed to the player who is making these decisions. Also the way the prologue plays out is also up to you finishes it.

The atmosphere in this game is excellent and the use of PSONE style graphics were fantastic. It conveyed the savage nature and fearful atmosphere of the Murder house itself. I will applaud them for using tank controls as well. At first I was skeptical due to the fact that we do see these controls as an archaic game design element. However these controls work for this game as they are awkward, and with that it conveys that Emma is herself unwieldy in her movement as she is in a situation that she never has been in nor expected to be in. Its these details that make this game special in what its aiming to do and it is successful at that. Also the homages to the original Resident Evil on PSONE were neat, the door opening cut scene for example if you would call it that; as that the original RE(And its earlier sequels) too used this sequence; which itself originated from the Famicom horror classic Sweet Home. Also this game is akin to Clock Tower and other games of this nature, as opposed to Resident Evil as there are very limited items and weapons lets just they are the legendary rare ultimate weapon you find in a RPG. The last thing is that I do have to say is that there are two things that I did not like, and to be quite frank they are probably nit picks. First the camera was odd, but the fact that you can alternate between Third and First Person did help that, but I do wish there was a little more polish on the camera. Finally I felt that one of the puzzles involving the piano was a bit too cryptic and seemed out of place compared to the other puzzles in this game(I most likely missed something, so that would be on me).

In closing I will say that this game conveyed the feelings that my thirteen year old self felt when playing the original version of the original Resident Evil way back in 96; while this game gave me a pleasant euphoria of nostalgia, it was also very unique and its own experience. There are other things I want to say, but we would get into the dubious realm of spoilers and I do not want to spoil anyone who is interested in this game to be spoiled before hand. That would greatly defeat the purpose of this game. It is a prime example of how the medium of Video games is a valid form of art; as is it is in the same company of other mediums such as film, literature, graphic fiction(Comic books, manga etc), music and etc. It is highly recommended.

Murder House is GOOD. Yup its just overall good, in my opinion its Puppet Combo's 2nd best game they've spat out so far, Stay Out of the House probably takes the spotlight for being their best. This game came out 5 years ago which is crazy to me and for Puppet Combo's sake its good for its time. If you want a thrilling, scary VHS inspired game I say go for it, it has a decent run time taking about 2-3 hours to complete the story, longer if you're an achievement hunter and I say it's worth the price, not gonna get into any spoilers but anyway that's my review of--- Murder House.

Murder House is one of my favorite Puppet Combo games- it utilizes music and colored atmosphere better than any of their other titles, I think. It leaves this empty pit in my stomach and sets me on edge the entire time I'm playing it.

As much as I like it, I really do not like replaying it because it has such a somber, empty feeling to it. That isn't a critique, really. It's honestly pretty impressive to find a game that's so hopeless and dark in its aesthetic atmosphere that it bogs me down mentally.

The hazy purples in the woods in the beginning, to the grey and white blue tones in the house, to the sickly green and yellow shadowed hallways. You're really reminded you're in the decaying, lonely house of a pedophilic child killer and it almost makes you feel physically sick playing it.

Every time I go through it, there's this cold empty feeling in me I can't shake. It's so lonely. It's earnestly very impressive.

The game play and UI is a little clunky but not too distracting, and I'll always enjoy a blocky PS1 graphic. The characters are charming in that cornball camp way. I'm not a fan of the limited save function, but aside from that I don't have much else to complain about.

These games always feel like getting stuck in a late night VHS nightmare someone taped over their wedding video and I love it.

The story’s solid, even if the main character’s about as dry as a communion wafer. The prologue drags a bit, but once you hit the house, it’s pure jet fuel.

The kills are WILD. And the serial killer Easter bunny atmosphere is nailed here.

Third person made it tough to move around, and I think these games work better in first-person, but honestly if you want a horror game to ruin your Easter weekend, this is the one.

Puppet Combo doesn’t make horror, he makes awesome VHS horror trash that looks like its filmed on a toasted and I keep coming back for more.

This is a fantastic little survival horror. It definitely has roots in Silent Hill and Resident Evil while still being its own thing inspired by cheesy 80s slasher films. This game does a great job at creating tension and horror and it does a good job at being creepy with the tools it has available. I was genuinely shocked and impressed at a few points in this short game.

The enemy AI in this game is impressive as well as the sound design - there are loading screens between rooms but you can still hear exactly where the enemy is in the next room and how close he is to the door - you can cower in the safe room and hear the enemy stomp by or go upstairs and walk above you. The enemy in this game was really well done for how short your time with him is.

I think the price point is a little steep for a 3 hour game with little-to-no replayability, but if you catch it on sale with some disposable income or if you have a few people who want to play through it then it's worth it.

Overall I highly recommend this game if you enjoy horror games, puzzles, and bad horror movies. If the price point is okay with you then go for it! I'm definitely going to be playing everything this developer makes.

I grew up in Monroe, MI and seeing that in the missing posters was a great detail for me. someone on the team had to be from there originally. Its know for a lot of weird and creepy stuff and the atmosphere from this game is just like growing up there. the only issue I had was there were too many lights on in the monroe mall.

Tone is on point, a blend of PSX and VHS nostalgia. The tank controls, the obvious graphical style down to the perspective-incorrect texturing, the muffled musical stingers and the classic horror shots, it's all there. You can feel this was made with love, without just dropping references randomly as others do.
Much better than I expected.
Couple camera bugs and one puzzle glitched the first time I solved it. Pretty good otherwise. In the ammo counter, I can't tell 0 from 8 because of the vhs filter.
