I love that this game ends by telling you to go outside, and I will, but first I have to write about how amazing it is. Truly one of the most unique gaming experiences of my life. It's from 1997, it looks like its from 1997, and it feels like its from 1997. The art style is a weird amalgam of traditional 2D graphics, CGI renders, and claymation. The soundtrack is by like two dozen different artists, characters speak in bizzare multilingual audio-collage voicelines. You've really never seen (or heard) anything quite like this. And after a surprisingly lengthy prologue you're just sort of dropped into the game with little instruction. I highly recommend reading the "help" option in the main menu before playing, otherwise you'll have a horrible time. Time is the primary resource in this game, every second matters in the early game, and unless you understand exactly how that all works you're just gonna get sent back to the main menu over and over. I've never had a game that makes me think about how long I'm spending doing things like this outside of like Stardew Valley and other similar farming games. Eventually you feel less stressed and rushed, but time is always on your mind. Characters and puzzles might be only accessible at a specific time of day or day of the week and, of course, you either need to figure it out on your own or learn it through talking to/interacting with things. This game is obtuse, and I'd be very surprised if you reach the end without looking up a single thing. Around the halfway point I had no idea how to progress, and after looking it up I'm pretty sure I would have never figured it out alone. I'm sure very few people actually beat this in 1997. But all the friction with the time mechanics and lack of instruction is what makes this game so great, it gives it a ridiculous amount of personality. I'm one of those Fromsoftware fans that will find a way to compare anything to Dark Souls, but if someone asked me to recommend games for fans of soulslikes that weren't soulslikes themselves this would be at the top of my list. The characters are all really weird and unique, the lore is drip fed through item descriptions and dialogue, the early game feels bafflingly punishing, and odds are you will miss a lot of stuff on a first playthrough. But also its just a cutsey little game about saving animals and making friends. I really wish the international release of this port and the Switch version got more traction (I only happened to stumble upon it due to a newer game by the dev team) because it really deserves tons of attention. Without this game Undertale wouldn't exist, and without Undertale this port wouldn't exist. Its crazy.
Let me clarify beforehand. The game is archaic as hell. The amount of back and forth walking you'll do, especially playing blind, will test your patience. Get a guide ready if you dont want to get too frustrated, it gets really cryptic at times. Not to mention the few character designs bordering on offensive caricature are massive side eye worthy.
Nontheless I really have to recommend this game as an experience, especially if you haven't played one of Love-de-Lic games and its successors beforehand.

There's something so ethereal about this one. It's so bizarre, and I can see why it was never localized back in the day. But if you can get into this, it'll be a hyperfixation for you for a good month or so. There are very few parts of this game that take itself seriously, but when it does, it hits hard.

A beautiful work of art that pushed the medium in a new direction. I can see it's influences in many other things like Undertale/Deltarune and maybe Petscop too. One of the most unique games I've played. It's full of charm. It is not for everyone however, it is easy to get stuck and you have to spend a lot of time wandering around to figure things out. You have to be patient for a lot of it like when playing Majora's Mask, and there's a lot of annoying parts too. But imo it's worth it, I had a lot of fun playing through it with one of my closest friends. I think this game is beautiful.
More than being just a funny parody or subversion of RPG tropes, I think the reason why MOON endures is the same as why people still return to good "conventional" RPGs or MOON successors like Undertale. At their best, these games replicate essential human experiences: walking around, meeting new people, fishing, listening to music, growing as a person. Without combat or a high-stakes fantasy story, MOON is entirely about these small human experiences and the somewhat paradoxical theme of the importance of logging off, going outside, and trying new things. MOON gets away with this through the same quality humor, creativity, and abrasive gameplay that Love-de-lic developers would become known for later on. MOON is well worth the investment of time and a little patience for a game well ahead of its time.

Hasn't aged well. Feels extremely antiquated and doesn't respect your time. I don't normally regret finishing a game but this is unfortunately one such case. I can see why people would like moon, as it's ahead of its time and does a lot of things well, but its flaws weigh it down. $19 is such an unfair price.

So, moon: Remix RPG Adventure.
It is a very charming RPG game, it's art style of modeling clay used for the characters makes them feel very unique among other RPGs as it focus in making caricature of people that gives this familiar and yet strange looking sprites.
The music used is very good even tho most of the game is silent letting you set the tone for you adventure with the Moon MD system where you can put songs to play, there is few songs you can find by story progression but mostly you can buy later. But the ones that unique like Moonlight On Granny's Face (Which is just Clair de Lune) are very fitting for the scenes.
As for gameplay that sadly didn't age that well, the core gameplay is not that different from a point and click game where you grab item X and use in place Y so you can progress or get Z, the main problem is specially later in the game there is a lot of walking in between places that take too long and nothing in between so the second to last half of the game is mainly walking around to places. In the game defense it has Pistil which functions as rudimentary fast travel and it has the Octolips which allows you to warp back to the last place you slept but even with those there are many places you need to go in and out a dozen times and that can really ruin the charm of the game making you want to finish ASAP to be done with the game already. The NPCs having their own schedule and having specific days is impressive but sometimes makes you sleep for a whole week to just get the event you want.
As story goes is very... bizarre, I will not even try to say what is even about, all I can say is that is about love. It has some interesting lore and you get the story from bits and pieces from everyone and their own problems allowing you to experience a lot of different types of story.
Overall, do I recommend moon: Remix RPG Adventure? Yes*. *As an experience, not as a game, play this game sparsely, I don't advise playing it for hours because then the flaws really start to become more unbearable, but if you like play with a friend, watch someone playing or just playing a few hours it should be an interesting experience to have . Also use a guide if you are stuck, this game has moon logic for a some things.

传说中反RPG的RPG，MOON。
故事说的是一个小朋友在玩一个类似FF的RPG。勇者斩妖除魔，最后迎战恶龙。但是出于某些神秘的原因，小朋友被吸入了游戏的世界里。变成了一个别人看不见的透明人。他在里面看见的勇者是一个沉默不语，随便撞飞NPC，对无助的小怪痛下杀手的形象。
主角需要做的就是在这个世界里拯救那些被勇者杀死的怪物，还有帮助村里的人做好事，积累“爱”来延长自己在这个世界中的生存时间。收获的爱越多，每天就能出门活动更久。游戏里有一个自己的时钟。NPC也有自己的生活，几点起床，周几做什么都是有设定的。游戏非常的自由，玩家可以到处走和NPC互动。但是自由得有点过了，给得指引也少，一开始会不知道该做什么。事件的触发也错综复杂，没有攻略会玩得比较辛苦。除了做好事外，主角还需要在暗中穿针引线，做一些帮助勇者推进剧情的事情。以寻找从游戏中离开的方法，最后揭开世界的秘密。

I can't get across to you how captivating the world of MOON is. The NPCs, the style, the underlying themes are all so beautiful and unique. It's ending had my soul sobbing. If you want to experience a game that lets you sink into a place beyond reality, where each moving part is strange and weird, but somehow still slots together whilst playing with the boundaries of fiction; you should play MOON.
But you probably won't enjoy it. It's a real shame. The gameplay of moon is interesting at first, but becomes absurdly dull for 80% of it. I can't stress how much a mechanic of this game is Waiting. Waiting and doing Nothing. The action limit mechanic becomes inconsequential after the first few hours- at which point the fun ends. Have you ever played an RPG, and really payed attention, such that when you are done and the world is finished, there is little left to do to attain 100%? It's only a matter of backtracking through the whole game and maybe using a guide to find the stuff you've missed. It's dull, but it's the afterparty, so it doesn't really matter. The entirety of MOON is like that. That's the entire thing. Many story beats and quests would be so impossible to find without a guide. I only used a guide for the back half of the game, once my patience ran thin- and I found myself finishing books I had been putting off for months. You cant alt+tab, as the game only runs while selected, so I would just sit there and wait. I have 23 hours of play time. I guarantee a good half of that I did nothing for.
Moon will be more bearable if you don't 100% it. Just build the rocket and go. Do only the things you are interested in doing. Don't play this if you are a completionist. All I attained at the end for this urge was a vapid sense of boredom.

An unforgettable experience! It can be frustrating at times with how cryptic the game can be but its definitely worth playing.
I’m a BIG fan of mixed-media games. The use of claymation adds so much character to the world and to all the weird little creatures. The gameplay loop is essentially a mixture of Chibi-Robo and Petscop, but some of the puzzles can be so obtuse that solving them without a guide just comes down to pure luck: right place, right time. Most of my frustration with this game came at the end with the RNG minigames required to finish the achievements, so after obsessively trying to 100% this all week I had to stop because it got to a point where I was just rage baiting myself :'))

On Moon: Remix RPG Adventure’s Steam page, it claims it is an "Anti-RPG". I do not think this label is apt. I do not believe Moon’s creators have any qualms with the RPG. Nor does its design deconstruct the genre, nor does it run perpendicular to the genre. I feel no disdain from Moon towards the Dragon Quests nor the Final Fantasies. At the start of Moon you are sucked into the RPG you were playing on your GameStation; the game is simply using JRPGs’ position as a 1997-popular genre to frame its world as that of a contemporary videogame. Through this framing it then delivers unto you Love.
Most of your time in Moon is spent exploring a small, intimate world, one ravaged by the passing-through of an RPG’s Hero on a cookie cutter quest. You must understand this land’s inhabitants, through puzzles occasionally obvious and often obtuse, and assist them with their troubles. In turn you will receive from them love. Love quantifiable with a points based system. Get enough love and you will increase your love level.
It uses the RPG to provide a world that is a blank slate, and then shows you the love that is naturally in that world. Between a child and their pet, there is love. From a grandma who has lost her grandchild, there is love. Between music and the listener, there is love. From a man stranded on a deserted island, there is love. From a monarch, there is love. From a vagrant, there is love. Between divorcees there is love. From a lamppost there is love. Across language barriers, there is love. From a carnivorous plant, there is love. From every animal on the planet there is love. In a hypercapitalist corporate hellscape wherein the workers are literal drones, there still exists love.
Moon establishes this emotional presence early. It took me around 15 hours to beat the game, yet I understood its affectionate demonstration well before the halfway mark. Nonetheless, moved by this initial profession, I continued through the game. Though, Moon’s design appears to fall apart as you reach its conclusion. What were once touching moments occurring to real people, devolve into videogame actors performing their programming. And for the most part this is no accident. Moon takes place in a videogame, and that defines the first half of the work, though as the RPG’s Hero fades out of the narrative, the second half is defined by our player character transitioning into the videogame we are playing’s hero role, going through the motions, gathering love because the videogame necessitates it. And we, the player, similarly transition into the role of the square-eyed boy, ignoring his mother’s call to turn the console off and go to bed, continually playing his videogame in spite of no due reward.
One day in Moon’s world I took my character to bed. He had a dream. “Open the door! Open the door!” chanted a character in this dream. I found this message quite disturbing; why would someone try to break into my character's house? When I awoke the next morning, I left my house half-expecting some horrific confrontation as I opened the front door. Nothing happened. At the start of the game Moon’s starring little boy plays a JRPG also called Moon. I had forgotten about this square-eyed child, door closed and glued to his game. I had become so sucked into my Moon that I had disassociated the game’s layer and the one above it. His door was no longer of concern to me. My door in real life was probably closed too; I wasn’t paying enough attention to know.
Moon: Remix RPG Adventure believes in love. It believes in it romantic, platonic, and paternal. It believes it exists and in its power. It believes in our need for it and in our ability to give it. It believes, deep down within all of us, there exists some beauty inexpressible, and that at every opportunity we are afforded, we must scream aloud every ounce that we can of this beauty, and we must commit all of ourselves to doing so. Though not only does Moon embody this truth, it takes it upon itself to say to you, scream to you, over and over and over again “Go outside; spread your love!”. Moon never stops believing you possess some incalculable love. It never stops believing that your love could have some incalculable effect. But it knows you might need a push. It loves you, in that sense. Go, open the disc drive -- the door of light -- turn off the game console, open the door. Go, and love.
"Touch grass and make love IRL." is the message I got when I completed this game, and I'll genuinely take it to my heart. I LOVE everything about this game...

Sometimes you come into contact with a work that is so ineffable that it becomes difficult to articulate why it resonates so deeply. If you tried to explain Moon to someone in the abstract, they would probably stare at you like you had just described a chore simulator. You mean you spend most of your time just walking around, talking to people on rigid schedules, solving borderline inscrutable puzzles, and occasionally just sitting still for several minutes at a time? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that sounds boring!
But it is not. From the opening moments, Moon wormed its way into my little snail brain and started firing off neurons like it had been waiting years to be let in. There is something about its sincerity, its oddball design choices, its emotional honesty, and its willingness to satirize genre conventions without cynicism or contempt. It pokes fun at RPG tropes, but it never loses the heart of what it is trying to say.
That is the magic of Moon being an "anti-RPG" without being derisive. The game literally starts by showing you a non-descript JRPG, ten minutes of pure nothing, as if you are watching a Let's Play of yourself. It even plays out like an automated demo reel, where the “Hero” runs on rails and your only real input is to sit and watch the genre clichés march by. Then you are dropped into that world, no longer controlling the Hero but the kid who has been sucked into the cartridge. Your task is not to grind or battle but to restore the love that the Hero carelessly stripped from the world you just watched him power through.
Progress comes from watching these characters live out their programmed loops, piecing together clues through observation and interaction. But Moon is not only about progress. It is about connection, about finding humanity tucked between the lines of a world that, on paper, should not feel this alive. The moment that confirmed I was dealing with some GOAT-level ♥♥♥♥ was when I discovered the OST.
At first, you are wandering through near silence, listening mostly to ambient sounds. Then, through exploration, you find a record store and realize you can buy dozens of tracks, each becoming a diegetic part of your journey. You curate your own soundtrack in the world. And some of those songs are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible.
The vibes are immaculate. That feels like a very generic descriptor, but Moon has this tangibility that few games have. The PS1 playdough models and the prerendered watercolor backgrounds create this sensation of navigating a painted dream. It feels like a world someone handmade with too much love and not enough time, which perfectly aligns with the story it wants to tell.
I'm done rambling, because people far more cultured than I have already elucidated this game's genius. It has flaws. Anyone, including my stupid ass, will almost certainly need a guide for some of the moon-logic (hehe) puzzles or bizarre progression triggers that sometimes otherwise require happenstance. But I will always prefer something flawed and genuine to polished, meretricious slop.
What ultimately touched me is how Moon feels like a love letter written in pencil. It's smudged, imperfect, and achingly sincere. You can almost hear the backgrounds breathing as you wander through them. It is a game about consequences, about how our actions leave wake trails we might never notice, and it manifests that through letting you roam the ruins of someone else's story. You repair the damage the Hero caused, stitching color back into a world that is trying to remember how to feel.
It is also a game steeped in a quiet sense of enouement, urging you to think about the roles we play in the lives around us. It’s a gentle reminder that reaching into other people’s stories doesn’t spare you from actually living your own, that whatever care you give out eventually forces you to look inward, too. That even when you find meaning, maybe even purpose, inside a story, you still have to step back into your own.

in the anti-rpg moon, gather plenty of love from interacting with the inhabitants of moon. walk around the world talking to the interesting characters. save the animals killed by a sick freak hell bent on becoming the strongest. the love from those animals will help you restore moon worlds moonlight. do all this to play parody to classic jrpgs of the past. moon's music covers so many genres, you pick your own soundtrack to accompany your day of chores with the townsfolk.

An absolutely wonderful game. It forces you to slow down and engage it on it's own terms. It goes against everything modern gaming stands for. The movement is SLOW. The mechanics are vague, and yet the world is bursting with charm and secrets for those patient enough to seek them out. (Patience is the key word, as there are several times you will be expected to sit and literally do nothing.) The characters are whacky and loveable. The art is wild. As a composer myself, I have to say MY GOODNESS the soundtrack is special.
There are moments that tickle similar buttons for me as Earthbound and Mother 3, though I wouldn't say it's on that level as a whole.
This game is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally love it. Aside from a few truly annoying RNG moments, I think it accomplishes what it set out to do very well. I would give it an 8/10* the asterisk being you have to understand that it's almost an anti-game at times (I needed a guide for many of these puzzles.) But if you can take it easy and roll with the experience it's trying to give you, it's a delightful and worthwhile adventure.

In short, with no nuance, and grossly condensing my feelings: This is a phenomenal experience I would not recommend people to play, unless you have a debilitating urge to.
Moon remix RPG is tedious, cryptic, time-consuming and the biggest test of will and patience I've had playing a game in recent memory. It is also a profoundly beautiful experience, concerning itself with introspection over anything else, with a phenomenal sense of style and a soundtrack that's so criminally left out of discourse. It has some of the freshest ideas I've seen come from the medium, a delightful sense of humour and a message of LOVE, its meaning, and all its different real world forms. A game so weird, with so much heart I couldn't find myself NOT resonating with it.
I find this game so difficult to talk about, even harder to think of recommending it to people, because the three things that separate someone shelving it after a few hours, to seeing those credits REGARDLESS IF THEY LIKE IT OR NOT, is: charm, will and patience.
Moon is cryptic and obtuse, but 100% intentional. I somehow managed to get through 75-80% without using a guide, something I DO NOT recommend, I 100%'ed this game on my first attempt because when I hit my first major wall, it was all puzzles I had no clue how anyone was meant to figure out on their own, and what I was missing, wasn't much left for completion and beating the game in the same day.
Everything in this game is designed to peak ones curiosity, with a seriously ambitious world that's always alive, and in turn with an inhuman amount of things to remember and keep track of. You will be stumbling across so much on accident, very right place right time, which is insanely charming, filling you with wonder, but will also lead to moments where you will be wandering aimlessly not knowing how to proceed either because something MAY NOT HAVE peaked your curiosity at that time. Or the classic of the game being incredibly vague and obtuse, expecting you to refer to a manual or player guide for help back in 1997. In this slow burn of a title, highs are high and lows will make you want to drop the game for a month... though you should keep notes, I don't know what I would do if I forgot what I was doing in this game.
This game is so difficult to discuss, my mind racing with so many points, there's no way I can cover it all, its impact, its design, its message, how its a game that treads a fine line, where one can see it as spitefully wasting their time, whilst another finds beauty and warmth in what they interpret from it. I don't think I can say it all right now and be satisfied, so all I can muster is this:
"Moon is such a strange game for better and for worse, that doesn't make it bad, its very intentional, its not an ignorant game. But even if you like it, I don't think it's a taste you can truly acquire, or think its all fun, with its 15 minute empty sequences or at times frustrating nonsense logic, something that feels so purposefully put in the game, for better and for worse. But I believe that games don't have to be fun to be loved, to be enjoyed. Mas essas características são ofuscadas por um gameplay entediante e inconveniente.
O jogo não entrega satisfação pelo seu divertimento com uma história profunda ou gameplay dinâmico. Em vez disso, o sentimento de vitória vem de executar as tarefas que o jogo propõe. Algo que parece mais obrigação do que diversão. Principalmente porque elas envolvem seguir dicas vagas para resolver um quebra-cabeça obtuso e ser restrito a ter que fazer isso seguindo data e/ou hora correta. O sistema de data e hora faz com que boa parte do gameplay seja esperar parado até a janela do evento ocorrer, o que é bastante contraditório quanto ao que um videogame devia ser.
Apesar de não ser muito culpa do jogo. Ele ser inconveniente assim faz parte da sua mensagem e tom. Ele foi feito como uma sátira afinal.
Veredito: o jogo é muito importante pela sua influência e pioneirismo, mas a gameplay não justifica jogar ele. Vale mais a pena conhecer sobre do que experimentar por conta própria.

it is the duty of a video game to trick its player into feeling something; to make them forget they're poking at a fancy state machine by letting the meaning shine out from between the gears.
moon is, mechanically, a very simple game. you can walk, collect items, interact with NPCs or points of interest, and, importantly, wait. most of the puzzles in the game can be solved following a flowchart that goes through those options. can you see a solution walking around? is there an item to pick up? are there any interaction points? if not, wait. you will do a lot of waiting.
but moon does its duty. was i standing still and waiting for something to happen? no, i was staking out the office of the robo mayor to gather intel. no, i was positioning to commandeer a live firework for my own ends. no, i was hearkening the signs and preparing for the return of the dark lord sadmile.
except in the desert, when it made me stand still doing nothing for the entire night four different times. but that was really funny, i had to give it to them.
moon is not an RPG, but it'll make you forget that. it's a vision of a path RPGs might follow, sometime in the distant future of the 2000s. as it turns out, RPGs would broadly follow a [i]much[/i] different path, but we got at least a few games like the ones moon was hoping for.
if i could offer a piece of advice to a prospective player, don't worry about 100%ing it or following a guide. if you've played some adventure games, nothing in moon is too outlandish to solve by yourself. the critical path will become obvious, and you should follow it once you're ready. don't scour for content. i think moon itself would agree with me on this. stop playing that game and go to bed!
besides, you'll have to do that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fishing competition if you don't take my advice, and no one wants that.
Such a charming game. A lil rough around the edges in some parts, but still so very very fun to play through! I can easily get lost in the world for a bit and not mind at all.

I commend this game. From it's campy aesthetics and character designs thanks to Kazuyuki Kurashima, the bountiful music of the many musicians and the very honest story about being patient and caring.
Moon: Remix RPG Adventure is a game about many small things that somehow are interconnected to the main plot.
It reminds me a lot of The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask in that you are tied to it's time and place in a real way as well as it's characters that all have their own quirks and personalities that you will no doubt find strange and yet endearing.
The game is about a young lad that spent a bit too long playing a JRPG where he would hack away at enemies. He may very well be one of the first examples of an isekai, since he gets sucked in the game, but not as himself, but an invisible man with clothes he got from an old lady. The good news is, the world is relatively harmless, the bad news, you the character you played in the game is the reason why the world is a bit grim, and instead of having a weapon to fight back, you are tasked for undoing everything you just did in the game by finding back their hearts.
What you will find is a game that goes against the establishment and asks critical questions no JRPG dared to answer.
The gameplay is centered around you walking about the world with a clock that tells you the time, tells you when to get some rest and you spending your 7 days wisely by collecting the hearts of the world's inhabitants and diseased.
The more you interact, the more love you gain, the longer you get to stay up to explore more of it's wide world.
It is easy, but a bit dated in the way how it executes it's ideas.
The problem I have is the movement. Your character has one movement speed, which can make capturing wandering souls a bit cumbersome and getting back to a bed frustrating. The game does this with the intend to plan the brief time. This means you need to know how long it will take to get to your destination, complete your own objective and return home.
And by being even a little late, has your character walk even slower and eventually falling asleep which leads to you having to do everything you did before saving, all over again. For the beginning parts the timer goes down fast, which makes planning urgent, but later in the game it becomes a bit of a pain.
Sound wise, this game makes use of CD's which either obtain through questlines and even more so through a quiz which isn't forgiving if you have never heard the music in your life.
By obtaining it, you get to make a playlist which will be used as a backing track for your adventures. Though I too find this a bit tedious and especially if you don't have a big collection, a bit monotonous.
But it's selection is rich and diverse. From jungle, to blues to rock to whatever you feel that the game needs it has it in spades.
The game makes use of vocal samples that the folk are speaking to you through. A wide selection of samples from all over the world which makes you guess where they sourced the samples from. It gives characters even more character than their character designs.
The character designs are done by Super Mario RPG fame Kazuyuki Kurashima and the characters feel incoherent in the best way possible. When following the characters in their day to day lives, it is fun to see how they all interact in the world. Even more than some of the games that have come after it.
If it shines in one aspect it is that the game convinces you that the world you are in is a video game, and also a world that the characters just live in when you aren't looking.
And that extends into it's spiritual successor: Stray Children that is coming this year.
All and all this game is doing things it's own way. If you can see past it's dated game design, there is a game that might as well have done things that many other games are only scratching the surface of. Undertale/Deltarune, Majoras Mask and even Mother 3 are games that contain this game's DNA in a meaningful way.
And because of that, this is a game that rewards it's most stubborn players through great dialogue, fun characters and a game that will last in your mind for years to come.

中学生のときにプレイした思い出のゲーム。
当時、バッドENDで終わってしまい、全ラブをゲットしないとグッドENDを見れないと思い込んでしまい、泣く泣くあきらめていました。
先程やっとリベンジでき、全ラブゲットの上にグッドENDを見れました。
世界観やデザインが秀逸で独特な世界に浸れるのが、このゲームの一番の魅力。
ですが、やはり古いゲームなので、全体的にウェイト（待ち時間）が多すぎてテンポがかなり悪いです。
システム的にも分かりにくいことが多く、説明が無いことも多数です。（中盤までアイテムをストックして、いつでも取り出せることに気付きませんでした）
ラブを集めてレベルアップすることで、生存時間が伸びる成長システムで、最初は成長を感じ行動範囲が広がって良かったのですが、丸3日ぐらい起きれるようになると、もう自分が何日起きてるのか気にならなくなり、レベルアップしても嬉しくなかったです。（レベルアップの称号名は面白いので嬉しい）
ラブ集めはコンプリートを目指すか目指さないかで、評価が別れると思います。
クリアに必須なラブの量はそんなに多くないので、ある程度アドベンチャーゲームの経験がある方はフワっとした感じでストレスなく楽しく集めることができると思います。
「あの謎はこうしたらいいのかな？」、「あの人にこれ見せたら話が進む？」などなど上手く自分の思惑が当たったときは快感です。
ですがコンプリートを目指すと、話は別です。
良いところでもあるのですが、ほとんどの登場キャラは生活をしていて、朝起きて、昼は働いて、夜に眠る。日曜日には遊びに出かけたりもします。
このせいで1週間（曜日があるので）ずっと対象キャラをストーカーし続けなければなりません。
しかも面倒なミニゲーム（運任せも多く、1週間に1回しか出来ないのもある）もいくつか完全クリアしないとダメです。
恐らく、作り手はラブコンプリートは基本的に想定していない、やりこみ要素扱いなんだろうと思います。
イライラしたくない方はコンプリートを目指さない方が精神的に良いです。
ゲーム実績と月の女王との少しの会話以外、コンプリートする意味もありませんので。
あと若干ネタバレになりますが、このゲームのテーマは「アンチRPG」ではなく「アンチゲーム」です。
ですがゲームで「アンチゲーム」を題材にしておきながら、結局ゲームをプレイさせてるのでどうしたいのかよくわかりません。答えを出せてるとは到底思えません。
私はこのゲームのことが大好きですし、この作品からラブデリックのゲームをプレイするようになりましたが、古いゲームであり、大絶賛できる内容ではありません。
それでも興味が沸く方にはぜひオススメします。ヘンテコなムーンワールドが待ってます。

This game is an absolute dream. I thought I'd mess around with it before Stray Children released, but I just couldn't put it down. It's not so much an RPG, unless you count the Level ups you get, so much as it is an adventure, almost akin to Grim Fandango, except the world is far more open. You can go as far as your love level allows, and that's the only limitation, and the message of the game. Love more and do for others.
You should notice on this review that I have the little Steam Deck icon, and yes, I played the whole game and collected everything, 100%, and did not run into any issues. The game really is perfect for the Deck.
I hope you give this game a try.
I would recommend having that spoiler marked guide up when playing the game personally but a lot of the puzzles are intuitive and fun with a few real obscure ones placed throughout.

One of my favorite games of all time - finished this on Switch and bought it here just to support. There really is nothing else like this game - it feels like a playable fever dream, from the incredible translation by the great Tim Rogers, to the soundtrack, to the weird, timed events and odd characters. You'll want a guide for this but use it only if you're getting annoyed - getting lost in this game is a trip.
Screw that fishing minigame, though. Seriously.
If you're interested in games with historical significance, and you don't consider aged gameplay too great of a barrier when exploring that interest, then moon is a must-play. moon is a game that was decades ahead of its time in its themes and presentation of them, while also boasting a unique visual and audio style. The main caveat to this is that progression through the game is often arbitrary. Use a guide when hitting a roadblock because you'll find that the solution is oftentimes being in a specific place at a specific time, showing a specific NPC a specific item. In other words, its a game that feels like its from 1997+/- in some ways, and from 2017+/- in others. Enthusiasts shouldn't miss it, but casual enjoyers should perhaps wait for Stray Children (the upcoming spiritual successor) instead.

このゲームをはじめて遊んだのは大学生の頃で、当時好きだった女の子に勧められてプレイした事を覚えている。(※その後、こっぴどくフラれました)
あれから20年ばかし。
よもや自分が「早く寝なさい」という立場になり、
子どもを寝かしつけた後、夜中にこのゲームを遊ぶことになるとは、当時想像もしていなかった。
当時プレステが無かったもののゲームの雰囲気はとても好みだったので、
今回プレイすることが出来てとても嬉しかったですし楽しめました。
本作は「何もしない・できない」時間というのが多く有り、それを楽しめる人であれば
世界観により一層のめり込むことが出来るので是非プレイしていただきたいと思うのですが、
何も言わず友人にやってくれ！と薦めるには現代では抵抗があるなと思いました。
ムジュラの仮面の世界観が好きな方はハマるのではないかと思います。
I really, REALLY loved this game, you can actually feel the love of the people who were making it, the characters are fun, the art is fun, the music is fun, even walking in this game is fun, the only bad thing people always says is how the game is too obtuse or cryptic, BUT... the game is obtuse and cryptic, the game use that as way to force you to observe and interact with the world, with his people, the game wants you to be one with it, and i think that really awesome, because that way you too can fall in love with this amazing piece of art.
PD: if you liked this game, love-de-lic and the people who worked there has other more amazing games like this one, and i hope all of them can be localized so people can appreciate them as they deserve
Have you played a classic jrpg and idly wondered what it'd be like to live in that world, not as hero but as someone ordinary? That's moon in a nutshell. The whole vibe is very subdued and chill. Nothing rushes or urges you to do anything in particular except for a time limit. But that can easily be extended by eating food or increasing your love.
Even if you wanted to do things in a hurry in moon, you can't. Your character can only ever walk with only a few shortcuts. And sometimes waiting around is a needed step to solve a puzzle. Your goal is more broad and open-ended than what you might expect. This, combined with the slow pace, means that you'll spend plenty of time wandering around looking for dead animals to save. But that's not all; there are other side quests or other surprises to give you more love.
Moon is such a one-of-a-kind game. Impressive for what was originally a 1997 game. Weird and unconventional? Sure. But there's sincerity underneath it all. One of my favorite features is how can make a playlist from discs you find in game; both the variety and the songs themselves are great. Character designs are eccentric and likable, the little noises they make when talking is funny. Claymation is used sometimes and it definitely adds to the games' personality.
It wasn't a game I immediately fell in love with but it grew on me the more time I spent with it. There are definitely rough edges here. A little bit of extra QoL features would have gone a long way. Not having a way to speed up dialogue (that I'm aware of) and being unable to buy anything in bulk are some small gripes I have. If it looks interesting, then go for it. Especially if its on sale.

very good adventure game. some puzzles have the usual flair of being very obtuse, but the game's world is dense enough that you can go try other things if you can't finish something, and the puzzles themselves are extremely satisfying to solve when you can. 100%ing it is annoying even with a guide, and there's no reward. it's a genuinely very fun and relaxing and introspective experience beginning to end. please play this game.

game was made in an era where you're expected to have only a few games and be a child playing this on actual hardware, in a more malleable state where you could get immersed without having to worry about the game's minute flaws (there's a lot of waiting around), but it'd be a shame for people to let that stop them from enjoying art from love de lic.

moon é, sobretudo, um rpg (ou anti-rpg), centrado na ambientação e exploração, consistindo basicamente em interagir com diferentes personagens e objetos, e resolver seus problemas a fim de ganhar sua afeição ou "love", além de coletar espectros de criaturas espalhadas pelo mundo do jogo, nisso se resume os objetivos do personagem/jogador. É como se fosse um rpg onde seu objeto são as missões secundárias, e pra bem ou pra mal, esse foi o principal aspecto que me despertou interesse no jogo. A proposta dele subverte de forma divertida e experimental uma fórmula que no gênero é tão repetida, isso é - eliminar quaisquer criaturas que encontrar em seu caminho e coletar seu XP, ou qualquer tropos que seja comum em um Role Playing Game, com excessão aos diálogos constantes com os demais personagens, isso se mantém e é o que se baseia fortemente o jogo (então não se deixe enganar por jogadores que reclamem desse aspecto, sua proposta é diferente de jogos mais dinâmicos, não é preciso inventar a roda para percebê-lo! - tanto que, essa foi a primeira vez que joguei e experenciei algo do tipo, e cabe dizer, foi uma experiência bastante divertida e positiva.
Sobre a jogatina, é simplesmente caminhar e explorar os locais e limites do jogo, decifrando enigmas e coletando os corações espalhados pelo mapa, e sobre os enigmas e puzzles, devo dizer que no geral dá pra resolver tranquilamente, mas na Minha experiência pessoal, alguns Eu conseguí porquê estava no Lugar certo na Hora certa, pura coincidência. Um adendo aos leitores que procuram uma confirmação pra comprar esse jogaço, é que uma das mecânicas do jogo envolve Tempo, isso é, há um sistema de dias e horas, e certas ações ou eventos só são possíveis em um determinado horário (mas não se assuste! Por mais que pareça difícil, não é um bicho de sete-cabeças e é algo bem superável, porém isso pessoalmente é algo que não me agrada tanto nos jogos, motivo talvez pelo qual não sou chegado aos tais 'jogos de fazendinha', simplesmente gosto pessoal). Portanto, recomendo que aqueles que não se frustram facilmente com esse tipo de jogo "meio chato" ou "parado", que tentem ao máximo resolver os quebra-cabeças do jogo, e somente se realmente ficar empacado, que opte por um guia que o ajude, pois o jogo é sobretudo uma experiência a ser apreciada, então poupe o máximo que puder de ajuda e use sua cuca! Isso conclui minha avaliação, não foi espetacular, mas foi ótimo.

Absolute gem fellas. Would very much like to see Chulip come to steam one day.
A game that was very ahead of it's time, moon is one of the first RPG's to really break the genre's conventions and take things in a wildly different direction from the norm. It's style is unlike anything I've seen out there, especially with all the unique designs for the people and the animals. It's story is pretty great too, as it's all about how the events of your typical JRPG look from outside the hero's perspective. It is, however, quite cryptic at times with how to obtain Love from certain NPCs and animals, so you may need a guide for those tougher puzzles.
Overall, though? This is a true hidden gem especially for it's time, and a true piece of art that still endures 28 years after it's initial release. If you're a fan of games like UNDERTALE, deltarune, OFF, or OneShot, you should really give this game a try.

Learnt of this game because of petscop and deltarune, and you can def see where they took their inspirations from! I would say its a hidden gem but that almost feels like an understatement, its a really good game :)
Amor rodeia todo canto desse jogo, eu sentir o intenso amor não só do mundo a minha volta como também pelo quão dedicados os desenvolvedores foram para fazer esse jogo, é um jogo surpreendentemente vasto em conteúdo, cheio de coisas para descobrir mesmo com um mapa consideravelmente pequeno, além das escolhas de game design inteligentes que enriqueceram mais a experiência. Esse jogo é lento, esse jogo te obriga a ficar andando a pé para todo lugar, esse jogo te obriga a descobrir as coisas sozinho, esse jogo te obriga a ficar sentado e esperar muitas vezes, mas eu não acho que o jogo poderia ser de outra forma, é essas escolhas de game design que muitos achariam inconvenientes que tornam essa uma experiência única e especial. Por mais que tenha seus problemas, absolutamente amei esse jogo! Se você consegue lidar com o fato do jogo ser lento e não segurar na sua mão, genuinamente recomendo!

This is a conditional recommendation. I personally love the art, presentation and character of these Nishi/Kimura games, but due to a lack of hand holding, unforgiving diffuculty (at some points) or no QOL features, playing them is a labor of love.
Personally, i'd love an update for different graphical filters to make it look more HD....or maybe scanlines?
In any case, I'm glad I can play this one on steam. Looking forward to playing Stray Children and maybe down the road they should consider bringing all the rest of their titles like UFO, LOL and Endonesia.
Kind of crazy that something this forward thinking and experimental came out in 1997. It's better than I, or any other pretentious turbo-moron on here could describe. I am so excited for Stray Children. Long live Onion Games.

このゲームが発売された18年後、「UNDERTALE」が登場するが、いわゆるアンチRPG的な思想は、そのもっと前から確かに存在していた。
ヒントなし、不親切、ポリゴン黎明期の粗削りさ──しかしその中に、製作スタッフが未開の大地を試行錯誤で切り拓いていった跡が残っている。
バブル崩壊後の1997年。まだ企業に潤沢な資金があった頃。
この実験的な作品「moon」は、PS1向けのコンシューマータイトルとしてリリースされた。これほど繊細で、自由度が高く、意味不明で、フロンティアスピリットに満ちた作品を、今の日本のゲーム企業が果たして作れるだろうか。
答えは、おそらく「否」だ。
今の企業には、もうそんな冒険をする余力も覚悟も残されていない。続編ばかりが繰り返され、もし山内溥（故・任天堂元社長）が今の状況を見たら、きっと嘆くだろう。
ゲームを嗜む者ならば、一度はこの作品を体験してほしい。

[i]Moon[/i] is a cult classic that was never released outside of Japan until this remaster. It's a heartfelt "anti-RPG" where you take on the role of a boy who gets sucked into a video game and must clean up the hero's mess. You'll get to know the locals, help them solve their problems, save the souls of creatures killed by the "hero" and go on an unforgettable journey while learning some life lessons about love. This is a sweet, silly and very memorable game.
Despite it's cryptic, often baffling puzzles, Moon really stunned me with its sincerity. I truly loved my time with it. Sometimes it felt more like an archaeological dig than a game designed to be traditionally fun, if that makes sense. My enjoyment came from each new discovery that led me to a place even more confusing than the last. The ending made it clear to me why this is considered a classic. Can't wait to try Chulip next!
Clocking in at about 10 hours on the Nintendo Switch version, definitely feeling the *Love* for this game. Can't say much that hasn't been said before, it can be a bit of a grind to play through, but the characters, scenarios, and the MD system make up for that. There are lots of lovely small secrets to find around moon world, and once you piece the story together, you'll find that it's very intricate and honestly really cool despite being somewhat easy to summarize. Really glad this title got localized a couple of years back, looking forward to Onion Games' next RPG title :)
One of THE BEST games I've ever played! My suggestion is not to use any guides until really necessary. The exploration here is so interesting and fun. The story is heartwarming and the soundtrack is undescribable!
This is a very unique time to be playing this game where there's an ordained Hero running around with a giant bladed weapon making everything worse for everyone and all the townsfolk are just letting it happen.
absolute treat of a game, first few hours are a bit of a drag but once things start to click its hard to put down. the game plays like an old puzzle solving click and point title but with very light rpg elements, if that sounds like ur kind of game i implore u to give this a try, u wont regret it
This game taught me chloroform is a great sleeping agent. Also the soundtrack is fantastic, I wish more games gave you a customizable playlist.
I enjoyed my experience playing this game mostly; however, I do not recommend going for 100%
people say this game is obtuse, but the majority is not. most of the game gives you plenty of hints in game from npc's dialogue, not just the hint guy, or the animals themselves for their hints. that being said: a good chunk of them are very vague, overly literal, or just patience tests. the thing is though: you can avoid all the annoying ones and be able to complete the game. I would highly recommend completing the rocket as soon as you can, while rescuing whatever animals and getting whatever love you can along the way. once you have all 5 pieces, just move on.
the final like 5-10% of stuff I needed for 100% after getting all the rocket components, does not respect your time. most of it required me standing still in a place until a thing happened, most of it way longer than reasonably expected. the rest required me going to places at certain days and times, but for multiple instances of solarday for example and I had to kill time in between or sleep in the bed a bunch to pass it quickly. the fishing contest was the worst, I had to save scum for it because it's pure luck. also yoshida telling you to stalk people for an entire day, man they're right, that's the only way you're gonna find some of these annoying ones without using a guide, but you don't have to, there's plenty of less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ love on the map. most of the game though: fun puzzles, interesting stuff.
Much like how you play an RPG as a kid, this game encourages you to talk to everyone and to see everything.
By necessity, you become a part of the game's world, like you did (naively, with all the time in the world) when you played Zelda or Pokémon for the first time, all them years ago...
probably the most beautiful, compassionate and delicate game ever. wonderful message told in a really sharp way. kind of took over my brain when i played most of this 3 months or so ago. but sorry gang im NOT gonna open the door, im a fricking GAMER 😎😎😎
Love the music and visuals. Though gameplay is very anti RPG, and is closer to an adventure game where strategy guide or use of wiki + steam guide is a must. Even with gripes I have with this game its still worth going through it for its characters and plot.
