I spent almost 200 hours on this game, so addictive, but wish for a sequel and QOL update.
一个小的模拟经营游戏，最开始有点难，通过不同商店之间的价差来起家，再有了更高级材料之后，交易就变的简单了，但是游戏设计有种割裂感，高级材料的需求不是很多，无法形成体系，同时游戏设计的成就太少，简单探索之后就可以满足所有成就需求，总体来说游戏体验很好，但是有一些深度的东西可以继续开发，比如船队，高级材料布置的，不知道是为了降低游戏难度还是设计本身没有深度，有种到了新世界但是突然游戏结束的感觉，后期没有成就激励让人探索欲下降，但是明明还有一些菜单和深层的东西，值得进一步探索。

Hlavní důvod je ten, že je tady hrozně moc zvláštních rozhodnutí ohledně designu hry. Hrál jsem na Steam Decku, tak možná je to na počítači líp, ale UI nebylo dobře udělané.
Hned na začátku je několik věcí které nechápu. Např. proč ukazatel energie, jeden z nejdůležitějších zdrojů, je ve výchozím stavu skrytý? Proč baterie které na začátku dostanete budou na dlouhou dobu jediné které uvidíte?
Být tahle hra rychlejší tak bych to i přehlédl, ale je bolestně pomalá. Pohyb všude trvá neskutečně dlouho, a až po delší době si můžete koupit jednu trošku rychlejší loď.
Navíc mi přijde že ani nemá žádný zajímavý nápad. Hrál jsem podobné hry a buď mají propracovaný systém obchodu, nebo navíc i souboje s piráty, nebo se to např. odehrává ve vesmíru.
Tady jediný nápad je, že ostrovy jsou ve vzduchu, což ani nemá vliv na vůbec nic.
很难评，开局教程结束就什么都没讲了，初始四个仓库位置，一个被电池占用，电池不知道去哪里额外买，只剩下三个格子用来进货，跑其他岛要电量，初始船存电极低，基本上跑下一个岛就没电了，充电要钱。倒卖货物赚钱，进了一堆货，想要猛猛赚钱，这个岛的资金不足，无法出售，其他岛甚至不能卖这些东西，那我格子怎么空出来呢？每过一段时间还得支付金额，甚至还可能输，因为钱变负一次欠债1000，欠债时再负就输，我不知道这游戏该怎么玩了，处处限制，全是约束，而我看评论区，初期还是最好玩的时候？无法接受

〰 Trading is easy, but oddly barebones. The core activity is to sail around on your airship and transport products between outposts, buy low, sell high. (Later branching out to setting up production chains yourself on islands you buy.) When I first tried trading, I figured that I would sell items, that aren't sold by a location, for a higher price there, since it's a scarcity product. Nope! For some reason outposts only buy items that they sell themselves O.o Their prices also never change, no matter how much you're flooding their trading post with the same item. So it comes down to re-running the same routes over and over again if you can be bothered.
〰 There is very little story because it's largely a sandbox game. But there's not much to "sandbox" about it either. The island names and distribution is randomly generated, but the gameplay and overall experience would be the same on any run. You get the same handful of different campaign goals in increasing difficulty, but other than those you're largely left to your own devices.

➖ The music is ok, but each of the 3 tunes are very short and so the constant repetitive looping will drive you up the wall.
➖ Caravans are a pain in the arse to set up and oversee. I know this feature can be done right, because I played Port Royale 3. Here, maybe because of the unzoomable map and the contrived caravan menu, it just feels stifling. Also they need so much resources to set up, but I was never sure they were actually doing what I told them to 🤷

If you want to try it, get it on a sale I guess? Just don't have high expectations about its (re)playability.

Das Spiel ist ein einfacher Handelssimulator: Man erwirbt Güter auf einer Insel und verkauft diese teurer auf einer anderen. Die Preise ändern sich dabei nie, egal wie viel man verkauft.
Die Inseln schweben und unser fliegendes Schiff benötigt Energie. Diese ist die nervigste Ressource am Anfang, da es nur wenige Ladestationen gibt (warum wird später erklärt). Das ist auch der Grund für meine lange Spielzeit, habe bestimmt die ersten 2h ständig neu gestartet, weil ich nicht mit der Energie klar kam.
Sobald man sich aber bessere Schiffe kaufen kann ist diese nahezu unerheblich und das Spiel wird viel leichter.
Auch das günstige kaufen erübrigt sich später, da man Inseln erwerben und Rohstoffe abbauen/ernten kann. Ab da regnet es Geld und man kann sich auf die Kampagne konzentrieren.
Einige Mechaniken sind schlecht umgesetzt:
- Die Warenliefer-Quests lohnen sich eigentlich nie, da die Belohnungen zu gering sind. Einfach Waren verkaufen ist viel lukrativer.
- Verarbeitete Güter will niemand haben, diese sind nur relevant für den Hauptquest (außer der Basar, dort fallen aber die Preise).
- Einige Güter habe ich für gar nichts verwendet
- Waren können mittels Handelsrouten automatisch transportiert werden. Das System ist aber teuer und umständlich einzustellen, daher habe ich es nur 1x genutzt
Fazit: Kurzweiliger Spaß, aber muss man nicht mehrmals spielen

游戏的剧情模式还不错，难度曲线先难后易。前期因为资金短缺、船舱仓位少，船耗电快，还要对岛屿进行各类生产投资，特别缺钱，每一步都要精打细算。加上小游戏如果玩不明白又会损失钱，不详细规划就容易破产（破产的话要重新开始）。所以玩起来比较上瘾。中后期不缺钱了，等到剧情模式走完，全成就达成后，就会失去接着玩的动力。沙盒模式下的基地建设就会因为缺少目标而味同嚼蜡。
四、玩法介绍：
游戏包含剧情模式和沙盒模式。
（一）剧情模式：
（1）前期：地图探索（一开始整个地图几乎都是被遮盖的，需要自行摸索路线，解锁地图）+跑商赚钱（送信、货运、旅游……）。
（2）中期：基地建设+自动化生产。
（3）后期：自动化生产、打造船队+基地建造（买豪宅，盖房）。
（二）沙盒模式：
（1）进一步优化自动化生产线。
（2）更多的船队一起跑商。
（3）在豪宅上进行基地建设。
五、游戏机制：永久死亡。一旦破产就要重新开始，之前的存档被自动删除。新开的地图会照上一版略微发生一些变化。
六、优点（正向体验）：
1.游戏优化较好，全程没有遇到bug。
2.游戏的沉浸式体验良好。通过这个游戏，彻底打消了我想在现实中当导购的想法。当导购翻身改变命运太艰难，还是底层人民，动不动就破产。改变命运从积累自己的原始资本开始，有生产资料才可能有翻身的一天！
七、不足（负向体验）：
主要体现在游戏设计者缺少换位思考的素养，没有站在玩家的角度进行设计，具体包括：
（1）游戏缺乏指引：A.新手引导约等于没有，需要自己摸索。B.小游戏没有规则说明，到底怎么玩全靠猜。猜鱿鱼唱歌的音符，完全没有游戏规则提示，似乎预设了所有人一上来就知道怎么玩。
（2）游戏的页面布局不合理：整张地图与船舶库存图、右侧图叠放，地图被遮挡了50%-60%，影响路线规划。如果把左侧的库存图关了，也十分不方便。而右侧的图既关不了，也挪不了位置。
（3）右上角的任务提示做完以后也没法关闭。对地图有遮挡。
（4）右上角的任务提示内容逻辑需要优化。因为游戏的全成就几乎就是故事模式中的重要任务提示，但是地图上地点众多，如果不靠任务提示，全部完成就像大海捞针，反复跑图容易让人厌倦。（也不是所有人都能准确区分剧情模式和沙盒模式，容易浪费时间。）
（5）船舶仓位中相同的物品如果数量都很少了，不能自动归到一个仓位，也不能手动归到一个仓位。（目前只能把船开到某个已经买下来的岛上进行货品整理时手动整理库存，比较低效。）
八、游戏时长：我一共玩了27.2个小时。其中用了26小时通关剧情模式+全成就，然后开始感到厌倦。（由于我没有看攻略，破产了2次，外加后期我把注意力都放在岛屿建设、自动化生产的沙盒模式去了，耽误了走剧情模式的时间，直到看了“修复植物园”的触发攻略，才知道怎么玩。）后期沙盒模式，我只用了1.2小时，体验了一下乌龟船和豪宅建造，觉得没有意思，就放弃了。多船队一起跑商的玩法没有尝试。
九、全成就：剧情模式走完后，就可以解锁全部成就。
十、购入价格：我于2026年1月9日以1.8元的价格购入散KEY。（折扣力度：97.6%）结合游玩体验，觉得这个价格还可以。

A charming trading game, where you buy airships and islands to make tons of money while exploring the secrets of the skies. It's very simple, and doesn't explain a lot of the mechanics. My biggest problem is buying airships. Airships have stats you can see when buying them, but once you buy them you aren't able to look at them anywhere (Energy and Energy Consumption). It's not got much depth, and becomes very tedious late game. I completed everything in under 10 hours. It's a decent game that I enjoy the premise of a lot 6/10
Recommending, but like other reviews, it's a bit on the border.
This is a very simple game. There are islands that either sell/buy items or allow you to gather from them. For the first half the game the goal is just to find a route where you buy stuff for cheap and sell for high to get money. Once you have money you can buy islands and set up buildings to auto produce stuff.
There are various quests to visit places or bring them items. The story quests are similar but have a bit of dialog to them.
One warning - there is no tutorial, so I didn't even know how to buy islands for a long time. Don't be afraid to look up information if you're not sure what to do.

Un juego cortito sobre mercantilismo. El inicio es bastante lento y puede que vayas justito de dinero. Lo mejor empieza una vez te pones a comprar islas y a automatizar la producción con rutas de mercado.
La pena es que dure tan poquito, en unas 7-8 horas te lo platinas sin mucho dolor. Los puzzles me han recordado mucho a Loom y me encanta, para qué os lo voy a negar.

Got this from a Humble bundle (I think). It's a quick and interesting resource management game, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. Pretty solid quick game with a quest line and a story. Some of the user experience is a little bit jank, but the gameplay is okey.

Would have liked an OP ship with both storage and speed for the late game when cash is a laughing matter

Pretty chill merchant/resource management game.
Pick up here for cheap, sell over there for expensive.
It's a little jarring when you first get plopped onto the map, figuring out what to do next. But once you start to discover more points of interest, buy some islands, the mechandising really comes into play.
Everything is tracked in the notebook, so you never get lost, and there are even tips on who to talk to for the next step, which helps with unlocking the achievements.
Overall, pretty chill achivement grind; doable in a weekend.

---Sound. Sound was ok not amazing but not bad
---Exploration. I loved going around and exploring all the little islands, finding new shops with different prices and all the extra ordinary islands as well.
---Bugs. I did not encounter a single bug or glitch for the entire game
CONS
---Story. There is not really a story other than exploring and doing quests for npc's. There are some "Main Objectives" but it is not quite a story. This game does not need a story but I would like to have a deeper story that more connects everything.
---UI. This is a smaller point. The game at times overlaps UI elements like menus such as gaining the Water Barrel upgrade can be on top of other things. You can't open your ship inventory and see the market prices at the same time (why not? would help a lot). No option to skip the message that appears when auto recharging. There are a few other smaller things but none of these break the experience, I just wish they could be changed.
---Content. Another small point but I wish this game had slightly more content because like I said before the later resources can't be sold so you end up doing the same trades over and over for all the profit. Maybe stretch out the ship costs (such as 2-4-6-8-10 rather than 1-2-3-4-7-10) and have another map maybe as dlc. One that you can continue with higher valued goods and more interesting quests
---Economy. This is less of a con and more tending toward con than pro. The start of the game ships go quite slow and there is not much of a tutorial or explanation on how some mechanics work. I found my self accepting the first couple quests only to find out later they seem to be late game quest but you can't remove them after accepting a couple. I was struggling to gain that much money but found that you can mass sell 1 type of good to make profits (I sold so many apples, near the end the shops had over 6000 gold). The early ships seem like a waste of time. I only had 3-4 ships for the entire game when it seems like there are 10-20. Also it is kind of strange you cant sell the high tiers such as (Iron ingots, Bread, Gears, etc).
I would say if anyone wants to try a small little pixelated trading game, this is good. Short, sweet, and fun.

Great little game! Its very addictive once you get into the flow of it. Its a good mixture of exploration and resource management. The game is not very long but allows for optimisation and automation. Well worth a play to kill a few hours and relax!

前期蛮好玩的其实，内容很少，就是跑商跑商，不过我花的钱也很少，虽然好像还买贵了，总之cdk好便宜。
我看下来感觉全成就其实蛮好捞的，就是跟着剧情走应该就能拿完。
剧情有点莫名其妙，但是也还行，反正占比不大。比如我就跑个商，为啥会有个dj八爪鱼来逮人赌博他心里在想啥？赢了还给钱输了还要给他钱，有些不理解。感觉在玩什么黑暗心理学之猜老板心思，输了要扣钱。算了给我钱就行。
规划路线对我来说很有意思，研究什么样赚钱最效率、怎么样补燃油最省钱最效率，我是蛮喜欢的啦。但是因为后面开始重复玩法了，就失去了对我的吸引力。
总之还行，很便宜，感兴趣可以玩玩
Fantastic idea for game. Easy to grasp concept, but with many layers to discover. Trading, questing, mini games, puzzles and upgrading are all here. Highly recommended !!

MotS is an extremely basic trading sim. You travel between cities buying/selling goods to gather the capital to get a better ship and eventually buy production locations. There are also some story elements.
[b]The Good[/b]
- Very easy to get in to.
- Nice, clean graphical style.
- The skill give a nice sense of progression at first.
- The supernatural elements, like giant talking animals, are kinda interesting.
- Super casual, you would have to go out of your way to lose.
[b]The Bad[/b]
- The story elements are barely there.
- Trading is the most basic it can be. There is no supply and demand, cities will always sell and buy the same goods at the same price.
- You can't leave a city by pressing Esc, while it does close every other menu.
- There's no easy way to see if a city has reset its inventory/money.
- Item stack limits seem completely random, not based on size/weight.
- Bringing water to the giant fish is incredibly obnoxious and requires far too many actions.
- Skills are incredibly unbalanced, some are amazing, others pointless.
- Ships need energy to move and this entire system is really annoying at first and becomes completely irrelevant once you get the good ship.
- Processed goods cannot be sold normally, only used in quests/building.
[b]The Ugly[/b]
- There is one ship that is clearly the best, it has almost double the speed of the #2, vast energy storage and enough cargo space for all quests. Bizarre.
- Cities all look the same, there are no icons or the like to show the buildings present. You can only see this by hovering over a city. But it still doesn't show all information at once, not even in 4K resolution. So you have to scroll very very slowly, line by line, to see all buildings.
- You have a quest to supply 4 inns constantly. Not only do you have to find the relevant systems as indicated above, they also have a tiny storage capacity.
- Cities/production locations don't show all relevant info at once, you have to scroll sideways and hover over/click on each individual building.
- Performance got noticably worse over time and i had only claimed about 1 in 6 production locations and not set up automated trading.
[b]The Truly Awful[/b]
So i finally managed to get a caravan office which allows you to set up automated trading. I set up a simple route, pick up bread from that location, bring it to an inn. Then i remembered the inn also needs apple juice. So i added the relevant location to the route. That's when i saw you cannot change the order in which commands are executed. And i stopped playing. Setting up and maintaining these is expensive and you most likely want to set up a few long routes. But you better get the exact order right or you have to repeat a ton of steps.
[b]Conclusion[/b]
This is nice and relaxing at first but the cracks quickly start showing. Despite being the devs third game there are some very glaring flaws. And those giant talking animals and other supernatural things that seem interesting at first turn out to just be very, very basic minigames (mastermind/memory) that give you some money/goods.
Merchant of the Skies isn't going anywhere and the devs don't even know how to get there.

Borderline between recommend and not recommend.
The art style is on point, it's a non-violent game with a vibrant world, it plays great on steam deck.
But it's a slog too. It's a constant fight with your inventory management, the clunky controls and the flawed warehouse systems. The gameplay itself isn't hard, but figuring it out is, since the game does a poor job at onboarding.
The difficulty barrier comes from figuring the game out, the early map exploration, and making mistakes like upgauging too fast, The early game was still the most fun I had; once you get to the mid-game you become too big to fail and it's just a protracted grind to gather enough ressources to complete the final quests. By that point you've invested enough time that you persist until the end even though you're only having half the fun.
And the mini-games - all too easy - are built around playing master-mind and simon-says with a crappy 4 button flute that has the irritating sound of a happy meal toy.
This game was honestly a nice little unexpected gem. It is a solid little trade simulator, a lot of the early game is just learning simple things like buy low sell high, getting new ships, and finding out where the best deals are. The late game has some more complexity, but nothing that will have you rubbing your forehead with frustration. There are small interesting quests, some basic but solid caravan mechanics, and a sweet cozy vibe that stays the entire time. Now, the game does have some faults, it can be very repetitive and there is basically zero tutorial. You are thrown into the world and told good luck, but you shouldn't have much trouble learning everything, I think a child could use this game to learn basic economic ideas.
Overall, pretty good game, I would recommend it. I don't think it is a must play, but if you are looking for a cozy and simple game that you will likely enjoy, I would say this is it.

It's pretty okay!
It follows through on the premise of being mainly about trading, traveling, keeping an eye on prices, etc. It's not a bad game but I do feel the scope is a bit limited, too much of it becomes busywork before you really 'finish' it. Overall it's solid.

The last couple of hours dragged a bit, doing everything to finish the game.

A cute short 7-10 hours indi game where you are a merchant flying on an airship balancing limited inventory slots, capacity to fly, cost of staff, and cost of goods. I thought this is a wonderful well made short game.
The game is relatively short, but sweet. The early game is kind of a slog but the game becomes better the more you play, the game rewards you for your curiosity handsomely before automation through caravan ships are introduced the game is rather tedious and lots of micromanaging is needed but after caravans get unlocked the game becomes miles easier and you can progress rather quickly the story is okay (in my opinion) and it is not something to write home about but you can feel the passion put into the game and the story has a sweet ending the game is a lot similar to games like forager, nova lands and the like
Overall i feel its a 8/10 game and would recommend it
Short and kinda sweet. A bit underoptimized and the caravan planing tool is slightly janky, but enjoyable as a casual play still.

I'm still in early game but, so far, a good "Cozy Game" with enough of a management element to keep my interest, unlike some in the same genre. Leaps and bounds better than when I first picked it up in early development. I am looking forward to playing more.
Wished they could improve the loading times when moving in and out of ports.

I'm always looking for commerce-oriented, non-combat games that aren't boring and ugly to look at like the various sports-managery games out there I enjoy. This game focuses on one thing, trading. Does it well enough, and the simple and cute graphics were nice. There's a lot of cool stuff here that could be the bones for a more fleshed out and deep experience with a future instalment and/or as inspiration for a different developer working on their own trade-heavy game.

A small and wonderful game with a pleasant loop; great for relaxed gaming. I would want to see more variety in a sequel, but I'm happy I played this through to completion.
Charming little management trading game. The game doesnt feel grindy at all and its an overall good time for the roughly 10 hours of gameplay it provides.

内容刚刚好的跑商，不喜欢跑也可以只做旅游送信当出租车司机点对点运输顺便刷特殊角色好感度。攒个几千就可以买岛开矿伐木无脑卖石头矿石，再把船厂支线做完拿七折优惠直接买速度最快的南洋船一步到位不用再换，顺带花钱/票买双帆从此不用操心速度和能量。
之后就可以愉快攀科技，由于市场不收加工产品（要我跑商会任务那还不如继续开滴滴送游客）所以二级足够，但砖块由于需求量巨大所以最好把砖厂升满（石头自己拉，沙子点挖矿技能就够用）。如果觉得石铁来回跑不挣钱建议买个宝石矿跑一次能薅几千任务也要用，灯塔完工起好商队后这条线就可以自动化（但没有市场经验需要自己提前跑好）。剩下的便是给旅馆供货和最终任务需求。总的来说除了萝卜唱歌和给鱼喂水外都不怎么繁琐，流程轻松随和。
结尾居然有每个特殊角色的结局不得不说制作组还是挺用心的。
额外的：阿拉伯风情（宣礼塔呢？）掺Anime（或者说是有阿拉伯元素的Anime？）还是有些许违和，主要是哐当一下就甩出来，我以为彩蛋呢结果还是主线，见仁见智吧。
Honestly, I really want to like this... I just really don't.
Firstly, the game doesn't really tell you anything. I know people complain about handholding in games a lot, but this game actively slaps your hand away. What am I doing? Why am I doing it? No idea.
I flew around aimlessly delivering messages till I could afford a better ship, which turned out to be a much slower ship after that the gameplay felt like a total drag because getting places took ages.
Why is the next ship you can get so much slower than the starting ship? That feels like backwards progression.
I accidentally ran out of money and the game said to find the bank that loaned me money... I'm sorry, if they're loaning me money, shouldn't I know where they are?
Instead of that hassle, I figured I was near the start, so I'd just start over, maybe I'd have more fun the second time.
That didn't happen.
I spent more of my time just exploring, maybe I could find the bank before I needed it. And while I did find a cute fish, and a cute turtle... I did not find the bank, or any reason to keep playing.
The starting ship is much faster than the upgraded one, so I had no reason to upgrade. Other than increasing inventory size. Not worth it in my opinion.
But then maybe it is? Maybe you're meant to have a massive inventory, sail from island to island just trading things....
But I find that ridiculously boring.
I fear that the problem here, is that the game just isn't for me. But steam does ask if I would recommend it to people, and sorry to say, no. I would not.

Cool indie game with a unique theme. Trading progression goes from buying low, selling high, to automating mining/production and caravan routes. Campaign takes about 12 hours of fun.
Muy entretenido, comercio y micromanagement. Te acabas el modo historia en poco mas de 10 horas y el 100% de logros es bastante sencillo de conseguir.

The game uses pixelated visuals with a focus on flying islands, ships, and turtles. You'll see a bunch of them on each island with their animations, even if they are just meant as a background filler. The UI can take a while to get used to, especially since there are a lot of features that you need to learn by yourself, although you still can get by without interacting with most of them.

The story is boring. They are told through dialogues by several characters that you interact with, but they tend to be wordy and have no substance. Sometimes they will talk about the worldbuilding, and although I found them to be interesting, the dialogue format just makes it unappealing to read. Moreover, you'll only talk to these people once or twice to finish a quest, making me lack any opinion on them. The game seems to think otherwise, though. The ending will tell how these characters become, but since I have no interest in any of them, they ended up boring to me.

[i]Merchant of the Skies[/i] is a game where you play as a trader, buying sellable items in one place for a low price and selling them to another place for a high price. Each region will only sell certain items, and those same items are the only ones that the region will buy. This can be problematic at the beginning since you don't know which region sells which item, especially since you can't see the whole map at the beginning and need to uncover it as you play. That being said, the game will list the price estimation after you finish the area, making it easy to tell which area you need to visit to buy or sell things.
You need to travel the whole world to reveal the maps and explore some key areas. These key areas will look more unique compared to others, and you'll need to visit and do a certain action on these areas to finish the campaign. In order to finish the campaign, you will also need to do other tasks where you need to successfully become a trader to some extent.

Besides becoming a trader, you can also purchase an island and craft some buildings to increase your efficiency. The buildings are varied, and you can only build five buildings on a single island. It will help you to produce some resources which you can use either to upgrade other structures or sell them in other cities. This will become your main source of income at the endgame, although it might take a while to set up.
The gameplay loop can be repetitive: you buy low, move to other regions, sell high—this loop will continue for some time until you have enough money. Sometimes, you'll also have to finish a quest given in some region, but most of them aren't mandatory and are randomly generated. However, I still found the loop to be addictive—there is a sense of progression and a lot of things to pay attention to.

I finished the game in 11.6h. The game has several gameplay modes with different winning requirements, and I finished the game in the campaign mode. It isn't difficult to finish—you only need to travel a lot and amass a huge amount of money, then use it to buy some islands and grow it. After that, you just need to finish the campaign quests that become fetch quests most of the time. You can't differentiate between campaign quests and normal quests, though.

Despite looking a bit bland in the gameplay department, the trading element in [i]Merchant of the Skies[/i] is implemented perfectly. You can easily find the island you are looking for, check which region will buy the item at the right place, and do some upgrades to make the trading easier. This, along with several other mechanics, will keep you busy most of the time. However, the game can be boring for some people, especially since the gameplay loop will require grinding. That being said, if you don't mind it, you'll be having a blast with this game.

As other said, yes there is grinding, but I was here for that personally (I mean, I come from Port Royale).
I feel like the commercial lines are made available a little late in the game, but are fun to manage (some QoL maybe but nothing horrible).
I think the story of the game and the onboarding could have gone further, but it is a really well-made and respectable game for its niche.

Fun little game. Didn't take long to beat. The Art style and little stories make the thing worth playing. I do wish it had a more dynamic system for trade for being a game about being a merchant, but with it not being that long that wasn't needed.

Merchant of the Skies is a lovely game with a great art style. I bought it a while back and come back every now and then to replay it. It would be interesting to see this game with a multiplayer function and how it effects the map and trade.

Sous l'apparente simplicité il y a plein de petits trucs à faire, un peu grindy comme j'aime, sans prise de tête. Jeu idéal pour un jour de flemme ou de déprime.
Merchant of the Skies manages to perfectly hit that sweet spot right in the middle between David Braben's "Elite" and Julien Thiennot's "Cookie Clicker". If you feel like by now you've had it with the yaw, pitch, roll and lateral thrust, and still wish for something less trite than Cookie Clicker, you can give this one a try. It's not a [i]great[/i] game (nor does it pretend to be one), but it does have some charm, there's nothing really wrong with it (*), and as said, it does hit that sweet spot right in the middle, for perhaps a dozen hours.
(*) a grand total of two sudden crashes to desktop, but which lost me perhaps one minute of gameplay each, as the autosaves are frequent, so no big deal. Also the initial frustration with the caravan system almost made me give it a thumbs down; its config does make sense [i]after[/i] you learn how to set it up, but the setting up is not explained. In brief, if you're launching a tavern supply caravan route from a location that produces and has all the needed supplies, be aware that simply telling the ship that it must supply the tavern will result in the ship going to the tavern and back [i]without[/i] actually supplying it with the supplies available at your base, and your revenue takes a hit... And also you can view [i]but not fill[/i] (!!) the caravan ship cargo. In brief, if you want the supplying to actually happen, you must [i]add the ship's home base as a [b]route stop[/b][/i] to be able to tell it it must stock up there. If you do that, then all works, but it wasn't my intuitive guess...

I greatly appreciate the art style and artistic design of this game — the visuals are charming and endearing. The gameplay is undeniably engaging. Players are required to continuously trade and complete missions in order to gradually upgrade their ships, acquire territories, construct factories, and even establish automated trade routes. The only drawback is that the game content lacks depth; with intensive play, it is possible to complete all available content within a day or two.
J'apprécie particulièrement le style graphique et le design artistique de ce jeu, dont l'esthétique est à la fois charmante et attachante. Le gameplay est indéniablement captivant. Les joueurs doivent commercer de manière continue et accomplir des missions afin d'améliorer progressivement leurs navires, d'acquérir des territoires, de construire des usines et même de mettre en place des routes commerciales automatisées. Le seul point faible réside dans le manque de profondeur du contenu: il est possible d'en parcourir l'intégralité en une à deux journées de jeu intensif.

The bank takes your money and gives nothing back. If you invest you never see any interest, even though the game has two perk which each raise your interest by 1 %.
If you happen to have invested in the bank, and you find yourself at the end of week without any cash, you bankrot and not only you now owe to the bank, you also lose any investment you made in the bank.
The game does not allow player created save, only on exit. I've lost 12 hours of gameplay even when I ended my game correctly by the button "save and exit". On the next run of the game, the game crashed not found my save.
Fun and relaxing little game. Some slight logistics management and industry simulation. Can be tedious at times with lots of inventory management and pretty boring travel between islands. Good game to play while listening to podcasts or audio books.
