Megadimension Neptunia VII caught me completely off guard — I went in expecting a shallow anime game and came out genuinely emotional when the credits rolled. The three-arc story structure keeps things fresh, and the balance between goofy fourth-wall-breaking humor and surprisingly dark narrative moments is pulled off better than I ever expected. The combat system has real depth with its combo chaining and positioning, even if the Neplunker platforming sections feel wildly out of place in a turn-based JRPG. Uzume is a fantastic new character and the soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission. Just be warned: follow a guide if you want the true ending, because the missable requirements are brutally unforgiving and you will not find them naturally.

Ну что же. Вот и подошел к четвертой и последней основной части серии Нептуния. Удивительное кол-во часов, проведенное в этих играх (более 70 часов) дало незабываемый опыт RPG и данной вселенной. Поэтому как всегда начну с плюсов

Сюжет:
Начало похоже как на третью часть, но с пару изменениями. Кратко: Нептуния (снова) и Непгир попадают в другое измерение, где царит хаос и апокалипсис. Там они повстречают единственную выжившую Узуме и далее идет повествовательный сюжет, который поделен на три акта, а если говорить точнее, то на три отдельных меню, будто запускаешь разные игры. Выглядит прикольно и проблем не создает. Юмор как всегда отличный.

Геймплей:
В отличии от всех прошлых частей, эта часть выглядит даже внешне максимально по другому. Интерфейс, анимации, боевка совершенно другие. Теперь система брони и ее пробития полностью удалена и поэтому у всех нпс и даже у боссов есть только шкала HP и кол-во этих шкал. И система маны, из 1 и 2 части вернулась. Играется достаточно просто и динамично, но одно замечание я опишу в спорных моментах.

Графика:
Благодаря переходу на новый движок, игра выглядит лучше и красивее во всех местах. Освещение, текстуры персонажей и врагов теперь выглядят более свежее и сочнее и на разных локациях присутствуют визуальные и фоновые эффекты.

Музыка:
Не хочется за это давать минус, но и супер треками не назовешь. Для этой части, а особенно в мрачных локациях играют достаточно хорошо сделанные под атмосферы мелодии. И само собой присутствуют старые мелодии, начиная с самой первой части.

Персонажи:
Все знакомые уже нам богини, их помощники (второстепенные), а также достаточное кол-во новых персонажей, в том числе и Узуме, на которой разработчики сделали достаточно хороший акцент (а позже даже и отдельную игру сделают, с ее персональным дебютом). Озвучка как всегда хороша.

И один короткий спорный момент:

Боевка:
Понятно, что эта часть делалась не вместе с 3 прошлыми, да и так она выглядит совершенно иной, не как прошлые. Но как говорится "все новое - не лучшее". И в этой части эта боевка - упрощенная? Возможно именно так, ведь системы брони нету, а значит нпс и боссы должны быстро уничтожаться. Да, но есть один нюанс - фарм нпс и прохождение боссов делается банально через умения. Не то чтобы это обязательства (хотя в некоторых файтах это условие), но если не использовать скиллы, то обычный фарм нпс будет долгим, а урон от них немалый. Чтобы сэкономить время (и нервы) лучше используйте скиллы. И это относится к боссам. Игралось не слишком просто и не трудно, даже выше среднего посчитать это трудно. Просто возможна эту часть хотели сделать казуальнее и также вернулись к обычной системе мане, делая её при это не слишком легкой. Вообщем говоря - ни рыба, ни мясо, а скорее просто хлеб.

Итог:
Вот такой и получилась последняя и основная часть этой франшизы. В конце я не хотел сказать, мол эта часть хуже или лучше чем прошлые 3, но и не значит, что нету никаких изменений. Они есть, и местами это сделано отлично, а местами 50/50. Кому как, а мне понравилось и это заслуживает похвалы.

Vai ser difícil voltar para os jogos antigos depois de jogar Megadimension Neptunia VII.

O jogo é uma evolução natural dos anteriores. Os gráficos, animações, cenários, tudo está num patamar elevado. Eu estava vendo a mesma animação de transformação pela vigésima vez, e decidia não pular porque era bem feito.

Em gameplay ele é bem semelhante aos anteriores, com umas mudanças nos combos, fazendo com que você precise levar em conta não só os status da arma mas também os combos que ela libera.

A história é o padrão da franquia. Momentos bons e ruins, com várias piadinhas de quarta parede e etc.

Num geral, curti demais e recomendo a quem é fã da franquia, embora também seja uma boa porta de entrada para quem quiser conhecer.

Megadimension Neptunia VII es ese JRPG que te mira a los ojos y te dice: “Sí, voy a mezclar rol con estrategia, waifus consola-personificadas y chistes meta… y tú vas a aplaudir”. La propuesta es simple en papel: armar tu party, optimizar habilidades, administrar turnos y posicionamiento con un toque táctico, y avanzar entre combates y escenas que no conocen la palabra “sutileza”.

En la práctica, es un festival de sistemas de combate por turnos con capas estratégicas (formaciones, sinergias, decisiones de orden/uso de habilidades) y una narrativa que vive de romper la cuarta pared. Primera impresión: o te engancha el humor absurdo y el fanservice de “industria gamer parodiada”, o te vas corriendo como si te hubieran pedido leer los términos y condiciones.

Lo Bueno:

Megadimension Neptunia VII es como una serie de anime consciente de su propia ridiculez: hace chistes internos, se burla de su industria y aun así te exige que aprendas sus sistemas de combate y los uses con cabeza. Cuando el rol y la estrategia se alinean, se siente satisfactorio y con ritmo; cuando no, te recuerda que este universo vive del exceso.

¿Vale la pena? Con 2731 recomendaciones totales, claramente tiene su culto (y no es pequeño). Pero con 7 jugadores actuales, se nota que no está “de moda”; lo cual es perfecto, porque esto no es un juego para presumir en la fiesta, es para disfrutarlo sin testigos.

At first, it was okay. If you've played a Neptunia game, you know the drill. It's more of the same, even the dungeons are pretty much identical to previous games. Some of the additions, like the route building between dungeons and cities, feels pretty pointless. You can't even skip the animation for the character running from location to location -- all you can do is speed it up a little. The new combo system was annoying to set up. It's like a logic puzzle working out where to put things to get the bonuses, so much so that I just could not be bothered. The true end route is incredibly easy to miss, and one thing I noticed while trying to speed through to the end for the second time, in order to give the true end another attempt, is how much the game continually ♥♥♥♥♥ with your party. In some sections you're having the remake your party in between almost every encounter because the game is constantly yanking people out, or forcing you to use certain characters. It's less obnoxious once you've cleared the game and have access to certain 'flag' items which allow you to keep all unlocked characters available throughout, but you still need to rearrange your party each time the game messes with it.
The game is split into three segments, and in the second you must play through each CPU's story. Each time you start a new CPU story, your items and credits do not carry over -- at least not until you're done with the four CPUs.
The scout system is tedious. I wish I could sort and group them by effects or something, rather than having to manually go through the whole damn list and individually select them, then assign them.
The difficulty varies wildly, with no clear indications which enemies are going to be a cake walk or which will knock out your whole party in a few hits.

I was prepared for a certain level of grinding in order to 100% it, but this one gets pretty ridiculous. The final achievement is what has made me actively dislike this game. 'Card Master' requires you to collect all the CPU cards from the CPU Chips item, and it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG nightmare. There's 33 cards total, with 3 different rarities. I opened about 400 before I got my first Super-rare. I now have only one SR to get, and I've been trying for about 3 hours, just continually opening packs and then reloading and repeating. Each attempt is taking me between 30 to 45 seconds. The RNG is downright satanic.
To add insult to injury, you can only carry 30 card packs at a time and you have to open each of them individually. Tedious doesn't even begin to describe the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Between this BS achievement and the Neplunker dungeons, I'm pretty sure the devs were trolling deliberately. Neplunker is designed to be unfair, but at least I could learn the timing and build up the muscle memory to complete it. Now all that stands between me and being able to uninstall this utterly average game and end my suffering is the whims of the RNG gods.

I would not recommend this game to completionists, but if you're planning a couple of casual playthroughs for the story then I guess get it on a discount.

Best Nep game so far and would absolutely play, would recommend after beating the Rebirth games beforehand. There are some small gripes, mainly the road building system taking notes from American urban design (some sections don't connect when they should), the somewhat obtuse way to break the level cap (You have to enable free DLC in the menu), and the game hanging for a few seconds (though that may be from the RX570 being an weaker card, will revise once I have my 2070S running)

I spent 13 hours playing this game and I feel like that whole time has been a chore.
This game is simply not fun.
Most of the gameplay is spent in long drawn out cutscenes which is commonplace for this game series but it feels like the majortiy of every gameplay session was spent progressing through them which is not very fun. They can be skipped but then you would miss the story so I didn't want to do that.
The gameplay itself is not much different from the other games in the series and I don't really have any complaints with it. It's just really boring which is clearly a problem. It's very simple and most boss fights you will be simply spamming specials attacks and using buffs.
I would also like to mention that the game seems to have some concerning performance problems at least for me. After longer play sessions I find that my video card starts flickering and behaving like it's having temperature problems and I need to restart my PC to stop that behavior. It could just be my settings though, but i did try a few variations already.
I guess it's the charm of nep that may bring us back to these games but can you honestly say that at any point playing them you are actually having fun?

本作依旧是传统的实时回合制战斗，怪物碰你一下然后就进入战斗，战斗方面呢依旧是你打我一下，我打你一下（可以闪避）。除此之外你还可以编辑队形，可以给你的女神装上各种装备，或是在商店里购买战斗所需的道具，在合理的规划之下，你的战斗将会变得畅通无阻（大概吧）。战斗体验方面，对比超次元游戏来说，怪物没有那么疯狂，不会一看到你就飞奔上来给你一个爱的抱抱，同时怪物的视力也没那么好（当你离得近才会发现你），但粪怪和堆怪的特点依旧存在，有的时候恨不得每个角落都塞一个，即使你选择跑酷，那也无可避免会碰到几个怪。此外，你也要刷刷刷，不然游戏体验就会变得很艰难。
画风和配音方面，萌萌的女神和萌萌的声音还是很顶的，一看到女神们卖萌玩梗，在战斗中被虐了千百遍的笔者瞬间感觉被治愈了。地图方面依旧是大量的复用，这也导致非常容易迷路，一直玩的话容易审美疲劳。最后，本作没有中文，不过社区里有网友分享了相应的链接，或者你也可以直接去浏览器找傻瓜补丁，一个好的翻译也是沉浸式游玩的必要条件之一。

作为在二次元JRPG领域独树一帜的作品，《新次元海王星VII》可以说是地雷社在该系列正统续作中的集大成者。它承袭了系列一贯的幽默玩梗风格，也在剧情深度、系统革新以及演出效果上迈出了关键的一步。另一个巅峰则是两年后的重制版，《新次元海王星VIIR》。

[h2]零次元、超次元、新次元三部曲[/h2]
本作划分为“零次元”、“超次元”和“新次元”三个篇章，三个篇章层层递进。

零次元章的开篇将涅普缇努和涅普吉雅扔进了荒凉破败的零次元，在这里玩家遇到了本作的一位新的女神，天王星涡芽。零次元篇所在的世界濒临毁灭、氛围压抑，在涅普姐妹来之前涡芽独自一人与绝望战斗。超次元章则重回熟悉的游戏世界，开始了系列传统的阵营冲突。其后的新次元章汇聚了前两章的线索，将剧情推向高潮。

海王星VII继承了前几作的回合制战斗系统并进行了一定的改变，最显而易见的便是取消了传统的破防机制。之前需要使用攻击打破敌人的防御条方能造成更多伤害，现在则是更加强调走位、连击配置以及零件破坏。

当角色们组成围攻或夹攻阵型、全部处于相同的变身状态且EXE槽满了以后，可以释放出威力强大的阵型技能。

另外，本作新增了一个特殊战斗模式“巨型战斗”。面对巨型Boss，角色们需要在浮空的平台上进行空间战。虽然本质上还是回合制，但视角的转换和巨大的体型差带来了极强的视觉冲击力以及爽感。

[h2]画面与音乐[/h2]
作为首发于PS4时代的作品（后登录PC），VII的画面相比前作Re;Birth系列有了肉眼可见的提升。虽然依然有着地雷社惯有的迷宫简陋和素材复用的问题，但人物建模的精细度、光影效果以及战斗特效都达到了系列的新高度（当然，在之后的增强版VIIR以及其他作品有了更强的表现）。

音乐方面，本作的OST保持了极高水准， BGM很好地烘托了氛围，战斗曲燃点十足。该游戏有一首OP和三首篇章OP，每首质量都很高。

本作含有一些小缺点，比如刷级刷素材有些繁琐，小怪追人速度很快导致有时不想战斗也会被拖入战斗，还有就是升级后不回血和SP。当然，瑕不掩瑜，本作的剧情实在精彩。

playing neptunia vii hot off the heels of the rebirth trilogy highlights how terrible this game is. where do i even begin?

- i already had issues with rb1, mostly because of the absurd grind required. "oh but it's not that bad!" diehard fans would say. sure, i guess, if you know the game insides out and can tolerate wailing on punching bags just to get through the game because the difficulty curve is stupid then yeah i guess it's acceptable to you. still bad. what does this game do? triples down on it. awesome!

- the overworld sucks. random encounters are not why i played these games. on top of that, dungeons suck too now! unless i missed it, normal enemies dont respawn until you leave, and some of the dungeons here sprawl across several maps, making it incredibly tedious.

- add on top to that, symbol attacks suck to pull off. lost count of how many times i still got back attacked while mid swing at an enemy. awesome!

- the combo system. i appreciate trying to add layers to a game but it just sucks? especially early. oops sorry you changed weapons, it got stronger but you can't do the combo path anymore. very cool idea!

- you don't even heal on level up. please go back to town. alleviated by characters finally being able to heal out of combat (lol, 4 games in) but then you just chew through consumables. which sucks early. maybe it gets better later on. i do not care to find out.

- removed the basics that there were save points before bosses. awesome. love dying and wasting my time grinding and trekking back.

i think it's pretty awesome that, 4 games into a series that got progressively better even if it was never truly "great" (let's be honest, most people play these games for the characters, not the gameplay), they decided to just regress to something as equally bad as 1. stellar job compile heart.

if you intend to play these games i suggest you stop at rb3, it doesn't get better than that.

A ton of passion went into this game.
It's basically 3 games into one, with their own identity, that still manages to merge perfectly with each other.
Atmospheric and tough dungeon crawling, multiple routes with a final part where all intersect and sandbox character building are the ways I'd describe the 3 arcs individually.
Couple it with the best combat system in a turn based RPG, amazing OST with insane levels of variety and great character and story writing, and you got an RPG for the ages.
Neptunia is not for everyone, but this is the one where even then, it's absolutely worth trying, Megadimension is a marvel.

One of the best Neptunia games I’ve played. The soundtrack is excellent and stands out from the very beginning. The story, especially during the first arc, has a darker tone and leaves you with the feeling that the true enemy might be closer than it seems.

Megadimension Neptunia VII is easily the worst of the series, and it is the only game so far that I have actively disliked.

Although the game is not too dissimilar to prior games story vibe/general gameplay wise, it adds a ton of things that make the game worse. Some of these include random encounters on the map, very bad enemy/level scaling in the beginning of the game, party members being taken out all the time, and combat combos that are more confusing. I still see some reused dungeons that didn't seem to have gotten any tune up as well, so Idea Factory literaly said "copy paste" and decided to make things worse. Additionally, there is an optional dungeon (that you need to complete to get key items) called Neplunker, and it genuinely made me rage quit the game for how god awfully bad it was designed (it is a platformer with the worst controls and design of all time).

I really don't mind how grindy the Neptunia games are, but I hate it when games add unnecessary grind by just having bad design. Maybe I'll give VIIR a try later on, but I cannot defend this game anymore just because it has the Neptunia characters in them. IF really dropped the ball here.

This game is 10/10. Buy it. If you're new to the series, this game will get you addicted. If your a fan of the series, there's no way you haven't already played this. Ignore my playtime hours; I played through it 5 times on the ps4 when I was like 16. The only problem is that there is no Japanese interface/UI despite it being a Japanese game (only fully voiced).

Neptunia was built for a bygone era of gaming.

Being hailed as arguably the best of the Neptunia series, Megadimension Neptunia VII (as in "Victory Two", not seven) is the last mainline Neptunia game to come out in... nine years?! Wow, okay.

The game has similar elements to its predecessors: Witty comedic meta-dialogue, actually enjoyable JRPG combat, and enough fanservice to kill a Puritan. Combined, these features made this game and the series in general a cult classic, cultivating a very loyal community that kept coming back for more.

But in the modern market, the game is unimpressive and only held up by a mixture of nostalgia factor and pre-brainrot brainrot humor. The entire set up of the game wastes your time. You [i]must[/i] grind levels, you [i]must[/i] be constantly interrupted by absolutely pointless and unfun battles, you [i]must[/i] sit through the plot that nobody cares about. The jokes are also out of date, with much of the portrayal around the respective gaming consoles not aligning with their modern appearances.

Now, as Idea Factory struggles for nearly a decade to recapture the lightning in a bottle of 2010's Neptunia, I look back at these games and see the influences Neptunia had on the market (DLC spam, 3D anime games, game-centered communities), but acknowledge that these games would absolutely not fly if they were released today. It's simply outdated.

7/10, play Re;Birth 1 if you want to see what all the fuss was about. Otherwise, steer clear.

Получилась хорошая часть. После долгого перерыва в серии я вернулся к игре и не разочаровался. Обнаружил, что многие механики сильно отличаются от основной серии. На мой взгляд, в чём-то стало проще, но перемещение по глобальной карте и постройка маршрутов со случайными битвами у каждого второго поворота... это было ужасно. Разработчики в VIIR также исправили многие моменты, но контентом игры отличаются. VII вышла более полной, что ли. А в остальном - всё те же приключения, вечные передряги с Нептунькой, друзьями и пудингом.

[h1] IFI Nearly Destroyed the Neptunia Franchise with This Game! [/h1]

[h3] You have been warned! [/h3]

1) It's incredibly easy to get the normal or bad endings to the game. You MUST follow a guide if you are going to get the incredibly limited-time quests that result in the game events that then allow you to get the "true" ending of the game. Don't even think about trying to get the "true" ending going in blind.

2) The single most interesting DLC character for the game [spoiler] Million Arthur [/spoiler] is now unavailable to purchase thanks to licensing garbage. [spoiler] There is a way to hack the game and still get Million Arthur, but good luck in getting CreamAPI to work with other forms of cheating. [/spoiler]

3) This entry in the Neptunia franchise is the very worst in (A) how your party members change all throughout the game and (B) the resulting absurd amount of grinding required. Don't get attached to any characters, for you won't be playing them for very long. And you will have to grind a ridiculous amount of in-game currency four different times in this game. It is quite frustrating to say the least.

4) What idiot at IFI decided that immediately after the main heroines of the game get a major power-up in the story that three of the four of them would be utterly useless in a huge boss fight? Whatever illegal substance that game designer was on, it must have been seriously good stuff!

5) For those that call themselves completionists, I have bad news. It will take FOREVER for you to get to the level cap thanks to IFI not fixing the EXP bonus in the Western release of this game when you get a huge combo during the fight. And unlike previous Neptunia games, the EXP required to reach the next level DOES NOT get capped. At level 157, the monster that gives you the most EXP in the game + the extra experience scouts at max level will no longer be enough to get your character a level up. If the EXP requirement was capped at level 157, you would need to grind the same monster for 24 solid hours in order to reach the level cap. But like I said, the EXP for the next level continues to increase.

6) This game introduces two incredibly rare materials in the game that you need for a great many things. The game is designed for you to play the game through multiple times all the way through before you get all the things you want to get.

7) Many of the game discs you can equip for extra benefits are locked behind New Game + or True End post game. Again, you will not get nearly everything you want in one play through no matter how much secret stuff you uncover.

In short, if you truly wish to play this game, I would advise you looking for a trainer such as WeMod. This game is truly too painful to play without cheating.

As for gameplay, it has your typical JRPG elements that can get repetitive and grindy at times. I mostly played for the story and NepNep moments. The voice acting is fairly good and funny. This iteration also introduces a next level transformation but not until much later in the story.

The plot sort of reflects the real-world struggle between video game consoles and video game companies (i.e. developers/publishers).

本作新次元海王星7作为粉丝向游戏，完美的秉承了前作的优点，以及海王星系列游戏经典玩法。地雷社海王星的老粉都知道，海王星系列买涅普送游戏，因为有涅普，所以给满分。本作是新次元7的原版作品，相较重置版而言，没有中文，画质略微粗糙一些，但是剧情更为完善，没有进行缩减，非常适合老玩家回味细品老作品的魅力。

[h1]愉快的战斗与跑图[/h1]
《新次元海王星7》的战斗模式为回合制实时战斗，在与怪物接触以后，会进入战斗，根据实时反应进行攻击防御释放技能，可自由搭配人物武器，及各项装备，还可以根据喜好编辑队伍。如果不想进入战斗，可在跑图时绕开怪物，便可安心进行剧情体验。作为原版，地图更大一些，怪物聚集度同样更多一些，血量也更多一些，很适合老玩家体验。

游戏指引简洁明了清晰，根据右上角小地图的提示，可以选择自己前往开启剧情的路线，小地图上甚至有怪物移动的路线以及位置警告。想要战斗，也能方便寻到怪物位置，想要单纯体验剧情，也可以直接前往任务点，UI简洁明了，清新爽快。

地雷社的海王星系列游戏，是有着一套通用的美术以及音乐，可爱的偏湛蓝色二次元画风，将涅普的可爱更加突出，加上滴滴答答如时钟一样走动的传统背景音乐，还是熟悉的味道，粉丝党狂喜，要的就是涅普，要的就是这味，伟大无需多言！本作作为最经典的原版，那原版建模与画面，老玩家狂喜，经典永不过时。

Probably the best game in the main series. The gameplay has been slightly changed from the rebirth games and it has now more options to customize and strategize. The humor of the characters is still great, full of references and more. They finally added transformation scenes to HDD. And there's as much fanservice as usual.
It does have a few problems with game balance, since skills don't grow properly with your stats making them worthless towards the end of the game and a few other issues.
The one thing that is very annoying from the game is how often characters will leave and enter the party, many times they would leave and rejoin after two consecutive events. The problem with this is that everytime a character leaves, it will come back with the "best" gear equiped, meaning you may have to change their gear every time. If you want to buy all dlcs but don't want to use the overpowered weapons I recommend turning those DLCs off.
There's another big issue with the Million Arthur dlc being removed from the list so, unless you bought it years ago, you won't be able to access it.

Still 3 hours into the game but I know I am going to enjoy this game. Neptune and Nepgear become loving and supporting sisters again and that's all I need in Neptunia games. Unlike in the utter garbage game called Neptunia Rebirth 3 (the only Nep game I hate with passion) where the devs turned them into horrible sisters to one another for no reasons at all.

When I started playing through Megadimension Neptunia VII, I thought that this was Neptunia finally reaching a level of effort and polish never before seen in the franchise. Character sprites were improved, there were levels that weren’t just recycled from the previous games, enemies were voiced and so on. Unfortunately, despite the seeming jump in quality, I started noticing a problem: the game wasn’t fun to play.

You know how in RPG games the game decides to take away your party members for plot reasons, leaving your party understaffed and making those characters underleveled when they rejoin your party? And how that is annoying as all hell? Well, Compile Heart decided that this annoying mechanic was worth making into an entire game. It took like 17 hours for my party to be at full fighting capacity, and they don’t even stick around after that. You really don’t want to get attached to any single party member because the chances are that they’re going to be missing for most of the story.

It also feels like they’ve completely forgotten about basic game design that previous titles in the Neptunia franchise understood. Things like having save points before a boss fight. Oh, you thought to challenge the boss after only 25 minutes of grinding? Time to lose your 25 minutes worth of progression. There’s also a point where you can get your character’s health too low for a boss fight, with no possibility to heal. Hopefully you didn’t overwrite your previous save, since you’ll have to reload at that point too. Compile Heart really has no considerations towards the value of your time in this game.

The overworld traversal is also a great example of just wasting your time. Movement between dungeons, cities and other points of interest involve moving on a gameboard-like map where every single space has a chance to randomly pull you into combat. Trying to get from one overworld plot event to another might require you to fight three random groups of enemies. And as you progress through the game, your party level far outstrips the enemies, requiring you to just waste time beating small fries for no good reason. Even if you don’t have to fight a single mob, the gameboard-like movement is just slow to watch. There is a fast-forward button but what the game needs is a skip button. And to further add insult to injury, you’re also expected to spend credits to build the paths to dungeons and other cities. Could I just pay a bit extra and build a path that isn’t infested with low-level mobs?

I think Compile Heart even realises how awful many of these things are since they allow disabling a lot of them once you reach New Game+. Personally, I’d design my game in such a way that you don’t want to disable a dozen "features" after a single playthrough.

VII might also have the worst achievements in franchise history. Card Master is an awful waste of time that will give you carpal tunnel, headache and a disdain for life itself. Treasure Hunter, while not reaching similar peak awfulness, is also a giant time sink without really any fun aspects to it. If you decide to challenge these, hopefully you have a second monitor to watch YouTube videos on as you painfully grind through them all. Completionists beware.

While there’s some good and interesting changes to the combat, like having a combo system that discourages just spamming the same attack again and again, combat feels worse than for example in the Rebirth titles. The timing for symbol attacks, trying to align your attacks to hit multiple enemies, having to chase after enemies dispersing all over the place. Everything just feels that much worse. Then there’s things like boss fights where the boss is immune to damage until you hit him enough times to break his damage immunity item – a process that takes way too long to be remotely fun. It’s not even a hard fight since the boss only does chip damage, meaning that at no point are you actually in danger.

As for the story, it’s just okay. Definitely not as good as Victory’s but it’s a serviceable Neptunia story, at least towards the end. I’m not really a fan of how the game is split into three different parts. It doesn’t really even add much to the story since it’s all continuous anyway. The conditions to reach the true ending are also annoying to fulfil and probably better saved for the New Game+ when the game stops doing its most annoying features.

The technical side of VII is nothing short of a train wreck. The sound settings are awful, you can’t have controller and keyboard input working at the same time, the game is capped at 60 FPS and 1920×1080 resolution and the battle load times are bad considering I have an SSD and the game isn’t that graphically intensive. I also had issues with the controller button mapping with my DualSense but maybe that was the fault of Steam Input. Hasn’t happened in other games though. And to put a cherry on top of everything, using my KVM switch (which unplugs the keyboard and mouse to use them with another PC) makes the game crash.

Thankfully there is a mod that allows you to run the game at such arbitrary resolutions as 2560×1440, and mercifully above 60 FPS. While my PC is quite powerful, I saw no negative effects from running this mod and would recommend it to anyone playing on hardware more advanced than a Steam Deck. And since the mod works so wonderfully, it really makes me wonder why Compile Heart couldn’t implement these features themselves. Although I think I know the answer: Compile Heart is a two-bit kusoge developer that wants PC gamer money for the least possible effort.

What a shame that the sequel to the best Neptunia game, Victory, and the only mainline Neptunia game we’ve gotten in the last decade, is such an awful game. And this is by Neptunia standards, which have historically not been that high anyway. I don't know why they decided that VII stands for "Victory II" with a quality gap like this. Usually with these things you can at least recommend the game to fans of the series, but I don’t think you can really even recommend it to them. The game just isn’t fun to play and the story’s not interesting enough to justify it. If you insist on having to experience the game for yourself, at least do yourself a favour and grab the game on a sale. Maybe that way you’ll feel less bad about playing it.

Absolute TOP NEP.

If you love the premise of Neptunia you'll love this game. It very much feels like the summation of everything the developers have done in the previous games, combined into one wonderful story. It just... has a few kinks though, growing pains.

The biggest issue you'll commonly find is how the story constantly sets you at a disadvantage by taking away characters and tossing an underlevelled player into insane difficulty-spiked encounters. It's so bad that even official guides recommend cheesing a hidden dungeon to overlevel story enemies once that's available. If that's a turn off, I understand. That initially put me off too. But if you love Nep, I implore you to at least fight through the pains and give this game a fair shot.

Do remember though, this is peak 2010s JRPG, which includes the good and the bad. No autosaves, and that might hinder you in your first playthrough because that's right, there are multiple endings! Only 2 though. To the game's credit, the normal ending directs you to the true end you should do in NG+, and the game has some insane perks in NG+ like no random encounters and faster movement in dungeons. Overall, achieving the true ending in NG+ is a cakewalk.

Do give this game a fair shot, really. Because seeing past these issues, Megadimension VII is truly one of the best Neptunia games, and stories, ever put out.

I just HATE Idea Factory, ♥♥♥♥ them, for not even trying to fix this game, they are just eager to release another game and do not even care to listen to feedback, I have reported this bug multiple times in the past yet they do not reply.
The game suffers from a damage calculation bug, ALL SKILLS will ALWAYS do around 15k to 22k to a single enemy (a bit more sometimes, but just a bit), and well you could say: "That sounds ok to me". Well it would be ok, except that when you do a normal attack combo your damage is around 70k or more, again to just a single enemy, HOW IS THAT YOUR NORMAL ATTACKS DO MORE THAN A SKILL?????? I have all my characters level 999, equipped with an optimal setup for damaging an enemy with their specific weakness, then I use a skill and the result damage? 15,895 thank you very much come back next time.
You can even look up for some scarce gameplay videos of the japanese version and this problem does no exist at all on that version.

The game is good though, reccomended.

This game starts off really really bad, then gets good, then gets really bad again and i havent played past that part ( yet ) with whatever hours i have in game to say how the rest is, but basically this game like all the other neptunia's is based around multi dimensions, the first one is complete garbage, a grindfest mess where you gotta be mindful of resources. 2nd dimension, very good, lots of mechanics from the beloved rebirth 3, with some QOL improvements. However after you grind the 2nd dimension and gear up and have a good time. You pretty much get reset again, as you play through each individual characters story you lose all your items, levels, and party members all over again and have to re farm and gear up a new character.

纯在赤石，地图敌人装备任务素材全复用重生123的，加了点新东西但带来的全是负反馈，没有汉化其次游戏程序后台放一会就自动闪退，每次退出打开游戏所有设置又重置。不是玩过重生123的挠谭真玩不下去这坨，不建议非系列粉丝的玩家购买游玩海王星系列的作品。不过PS3拟人化的诺瓦露确实挺好看的
在使用CE的情况下，用了29小时完成了一周目并达成了升天结局（标准），因为没有找到比较好的汉化补丁所以游戏内的文本阅读有一定障碍。体验完一周目后，我的评价是这是一部标准的海王星粉丝向作品，不算太烂也绝对算不上好，回合制的攻击模式和角色养成还有迷宫探索都与重生3一模一样，虽然加入了大地图探索模式但是在一周目中因为会在前往目的地过程中遇到遭遇战所以体验很差，其次就是前代作品中都有的刷级/迷宫宝箱/委托升级信仰/开发装备/刻碟片/地图侦查等系统，这就是关于NEPTUNE的另一个故事，喜欢NEP的玩就完事了

+ There's at least a little bit of fanservice

- Not enough fanservice
- Horrible game design. Many design choices deliberately made to make players suffer.
- Game is not difficult but unfair. Some bosses will destroy you if you don't grind levels. There's not really a way to 'play better' other than grinding stats. There's no knowing which bosses are hard beforehand, many are super easy. If you lose you're back to last save point losing a bunch of your time & progress.
- Game is unrewarding. Whether you win against a boss or find a better weapon - it's all just bleh.
- Levels are ugly, jumping levels are obnoxious.
- Repetitive gameplay.
- Stupid story. It is supposed to be a parody of real world game consoles and franchises. It utterly fails as a parody.
- Unfunny. Both the Japanese original script and english translation are utterly unfunny.
- Extremely boring the entire time.

Honestly, I wanted to like this game more than I did.

I enjoyed the Re;Birth trilogy, some more than others, and this one was off to a good start. But over time, the problems stack up. For one thing, they added a map system where you walk to your destinations, sort of like what Mario RPG does, just with more spaces. Seems arbitrary compared to the typical menu selection of the other games. And then the random encounters start happening. At the start of the game, when the maps are pretty small, its barely even an annoyance.

25-30 hours in, when you have one massive map, it nearly caused me to drop the game. Any time you want to go anywhere, there's a chance that every space (many of which exists solely to increase the chance of random encounters) can cause an encounter. Weak ones at that. They're almost always basic early enemies that die fast. Doesn't sound so bad. Except that a random encounter stops your pathing. So you have redo the place you want to head to, and most likely, run into another encounter where you will have to do it all again. Repeat 3-4 times whenever you go anywhere to do anything. And you have to deal with this to do anything. Go do side quests? Cross the map. Turn in side quests? Cross the map. Etc. etc.

That's my largest issue, but its hardly the only one. The story is just... a mess. It's bad, nonesense, and doesn't even make much sense within its own logic. Plot points happen just to move the story along. The end especially went on at least 4-5 hours longer than it needed to. I won't spoil, but there are multiple moments of "oh, that wasn't the final-final dungeon." This is along with any issues that one might have with the Neptunia games to begin with (Yes, dungeon designs from the 1st game are still being reused).

Even for a Nep fan, this is a "Can't recommend".

Funny story, I had to wait years to play this game since I didn't have the hardware to play it. After waiting and waiting, here we are.

This is easily [b] the best Neptunia game [/b] , yes, it's also better than the "best" spinoff you can think of, we got a very long and memorable story that's easily the second best in the series, and they fixed most of the problems many people had with the Re;Birth series of games, even tho this game really seems to be based on the PS3 trilogy rather than the "remakes" themselves. That being said, this game is not perfect.

While the gameplay is better than that of the other games, the difficulty here is something to worry about; the early game sucks, you can't really grind or get very decent gear, so you never have the advantage during the [spoiler] Zerodimension arc [/spoiler] . Unfortunately, the same thing can be said of other segments, at the start of [spoiler] Noire's route [/spoiler] you are literally thrown into a dungeon that's just too much for the level she is at, so it's just better to skip all the battles and go to the event right away. I'd say the easiest out of them was [spoiler] Blanc's route [/spoiler] , since [spoiler] Rom and Ram [/spoiler] happen to be very strong.

Now, when it comes to the late game, you really need to grind with very specific monsters until you are at a decent level, and it's not like in the other games where all the characters level up simultaneously, in this game you need to use chips for that, and I think only one character has that by default, which is crazy and makes the game slower. At the end of the game, you can find a dungeon that has a monster which drops a lot of EXP, the most in the game, even with that, it's not very reliable, after you reach lvl 110, it gets very slow, so aiming for lvl 999 in this game is just pointless, you don't need it to beat the game, in fact, 99 is more than enough, but that's actually good since it doesn't force you to stay there for long. Sadly, the dungeon where the monster can be found is terrible and you need to memorize it or use an external map because it's disabled there, and it's very dark. So overall the gameplay is fine, I love how it feels more "complete", like the game actually feels finished and not a Ctrl + Victory like the Re;Birth trilogy, as I mentioned the difficulty forces you to do stuff that's just annoying depending on the player, but it's still a good experience once you get used to it.... Oh yeah, the world map in this game is terrible, forgot to mention that, I hate the random encounters and how slow it feels. I get it, they were trying to do something different, but I didn't like it.

Getting all the achievements is painful, one of them is literally RNG based and that sucks, while the others are just slow and it's just better to get everything in NG+, including the true ending, So if you are aiming for all the achievements, beat the game with the normal ending first, then start a NG+ save and go for the full clear there, I admire that this is the only mainline game that actually made me want to do NG+ unlike the others, especially since NG+ has better equipment that makes exploring the dungeons easier and faster.

The story was great, while it's not the best in the series by any means, it is very good and I loved the new characters, the plot twist was kinda expected but it was still shocking, the whole thing has an amazing build up, it is that good, and it's sad that Neptunia didn't get a game as great as this one ever since, we shall see if Nep 5 will save us or destroy the franchise.

A Nep A Day Keeps the bad vibes away!

Megadimension Neptunia Victory 2, commonly mistaken as Neptunia 7 due to people not reading Roman numerals, follows an arc-based story: you complete one arc and move on to the next. There are three endings, one of which is very easy to get, but I'm not going to go into that because SPOILERS, DEARY! I myself have triple dipped on multiple platforms to get this entry specifically because I feel that it is the most polished of the Neptunia games in regards to combat and level design. The changes to the combat system from Re:birth 3 are quick and easy to adjust to so what are you waiting for? The proud nation of Planeptune is waiting for the one who will guide the Protagonist of Protagonists!

i suppose i would put negative rating to this game, but since the story was promising, there were couple new mechanic and some improvements and such, then this time, i can leave positive rating for this one.

the only unfortunate thing i didnt enjoy were, ran into a lot of difficulty spikes, and then afterwards, grinding to get the good ending seemed like such a chore. I have to say the experience wasn't worth it. yeah, like really, story can gets intense from time to time but grinding it? probably not worth it.

Yes, there was a point where you needed to farm/grind regular mobs to level up characters from around lvl 25 to 30 or so to unlock the strongest skills necessary to defeat the bosses and advance in the next story, and you had to do this for each faction (four times). It's fortunate that this is the sole instance where you need to grind; it feels unintentional, as if the developers overlooked this moment during their balance testing. I hope all turn-based games didn’t involve grinding and instead focused solely on tactics and gameplay. (normally i hate grinding game into completionist but i can put neptunia series as excepction as i liked the game so much. i just dont like involving grinding to enjoy single player games and not making grinding as focus of chore)

If you're new to the series, this may be your best bet to start liking it.

[h3]Overview[/h3]
Having played all the main Neptunia games, those being the three Re;Birth games, as well as this one (excluding the spin-offs), Megadimension Neptunia VII is by far the best entry in the series in my opinion.

While I did find the story of Re;Birth 1 to be most engaging overall, the incredible amount of grind needed to get through that game is what made me give it the title of "the best game I never want to play again".

On the other hand, the story in VII may be somewhat less immersive, but the relatively low amount of grind, as well as improvements to the mechanics is what made this game worthy of a recommendation.

[h3]Story[/h3]
VII has a fairly creative approach to the story mode - rather than telling the story from start to finish from the perspective of a single character, it is split up into separate sections, within which every major character (CPU) becomes the protagonist at least once.

In each of these story segments (with the exception of some of the later ones), the protagonist is part of a small group of friends traveling together, which gives not only the personality of the protagonists, but also that of their friends a time to shine.

Past games in the series tended to have an issue where particularly energetic or assertive characters would be overshadowing some more reserved ones, so this new focus on different characters was a very welcome change.

This approach is not without its drawbacks however, as the way these segments were implemented resulted in the story feeling somewhat disjointed, and lacking in an overarching goal - while the end goal is not revealed until the final 3rd of the game.

[h3]Final section[/h3]
Speaking of which, the final third is what I considered to be the biggest missed opportunity.

While the first section of the game was great, and the second one was still good, in the final one, the writing just seemed rushed, without much consideration for anything.

For example, the way the main antagonist's motivations are revealed is literally via a 5-10 minute monologue, in which she explains her entire backstory, as well as her grand plan of what she wants to do and why.

At that point, the game would've already had around 30 hours to gradually and indirectly reveal these things to the player, but it chose to reveal almost nothing during the second major section, only to then reveal everything all at once close to the end.

Finally, the question of antagonist's powers also appears to have been an afterthought, since she is supposed to have near infinite power, except when that would make it impossible for the protagonists to win, at which point her powers are nerfed to give them a fighting chance... at least that's how it appeared to me, unless I missed something.

Example: At one point she brags about being able to create an infinite number of enemy monsters... but she never does so, even though she would win if she did.

[h3]Good mechanics[/h3]
Compared to the previous games, dungeons and combat have seen some significant improvements - there are a lot of new dungeons, a sizable amount of which are a lot bigger than before, as well as additional tactical options in the turn-based combat, based on the characters' position on the battlefield.

The new travel method involves stepping over a varying number of connected "nodes", depending on distance (much like a board game), rather than teleporting, which made the game feel more grounded as well.

[h3]Issues[/h3]
However, this wouldn't be an "Idea Factory International" game if there weren't also a sizable number of questionable design choices.

(It is worth noting that a lot of of the following appear to have been addressed in the VIIR version of the game, which may be worth considering over this one.)

[*]Traveling has a chance of a random encounter on each node you step on, which itself becomes tedious quick, but also your destination is not saved upon an encounter, meaning that you have to re-select your destination after every single random encounter on the way (extremely tedious).
[*]Negative status effects (poison, skill seal, etc) persist after battle, but positive ones (EXE drive) do not, which was the reverse in previous games.
[*]Characters no longer recover health after leveling up.
[*]Characters who are not active by the end of a battle do not level up (this is particularly annoying, since it makes certain characters uselessly weak after not using them for a while, including story-based sections where you cannot use them).
[*]You no longer heal when leaving a dungeon, but only after traveling to a city.
[*]The amount of each item (heal, sp charger, etc) is artificially limited to 30, which when combined with the need to travel back to a city each time to buy new ones can be annoying.
[*]On rare occasions, enemies can be very unbalanced, leading to some normal (non-boss) enemies being able to wipe out your squad in a single turn if you encounter a large number of them.
[*]On at least one occasion (first Giant fight), one of a boss' possible attacks is able to one-shot your entire squad regardless of how they are positioned - the only way to win is for the boss not to use that attack.

[h3]Linux[/h3]
While there are issues with running this game on Linux, it is possible to do so.

First, it is important that you use Proton-GE when launching the game for the first time.
(You can use ProtonUp-Qt from Flathub to dowload the latest version, then select it in the Steam settings for the game under "Compatibility".)
If you first launched the game using a non-GE Proton version, make sure you clear all your game preferences first.

After launch, Proton-GE will download the required dependencies to play the game (about 1.1 GB worth) - this can take a while, and the game will report itself to be running during that time.
After which, the game should launch and be fully functioning.
(If not, there are manual steps on ProtonDB.)

(You may want to disable Steam Overlay for this game, as some people have reported crashes.)

The only issues I have encountered were consistent frame drops when navigating any menu system, as well as during the (rare) cutscenes.
Most of the game involves either combat or Visual-Novel-style story elements however, which ran without any issue - no crashes either (with Steam Overlay disabled).

It's also much smoother to run, and less prone to crashes.

also it doesn't require as much grinding, allowing for a better experience.

Ce que j'apprécie vraiment avec les jeux Neptunia "mainline" c'est que leur qualité est exponentiellement meilleur à chaque opus.
Là où j'ai trouvé que Re;birth3 était un excellent jeu car une très bonne histoire, meilleur gameplay et meilleure expérience de manière générale, j'ai trouvé que VII surpassait encore cette limite.
Pour la première fois depuis que j'ai commencé la licence j'ai l'impression de jouer à un jeu avec un minimum de budget derrière et ça se sent.

Le jeu plutôt beau visuellement même si c'est plus sur la direction artistique que l'on va s'arrêter, le gameplay ainsi que le système de combat sont toujours aussi fun bien qu'assez énervant quand on parle des rencontres aléatoires de mobs sur la map qui peuvent être assez chiants.

Y'a quand même trois trucs par contre par dessus le reste que je veux donner au jeu. Premièrement ses musiques c'est vraiment vraiment bien. Je trouve pas que les soundtracks des Neptunia se démarquent beaucoup mais alors toute la soundtrack de ce jeu c'est majoritairement des bangers.
En deuxième c'est les donjons. Si vous avez jouer aux précédents opus vous savez à quel point les donjons on voit tout le temps les mêmes et qu'ils sont pas franchement originaux. Là c'est plus un problème du tout, les donjons sont super biens.
Dernier point que je veux mettre en avant c'est l'histoire du jeu. Nan franchement c'est une dinguerie, j'ai trop aimé parcourir trois dimensions avec à chaque fois des folies que se passent dedans, le monde est giga bien construit et les persos aussi nan franchement ils ont géré.

Bref, c'est le meilleur de la licence, je recommande de jouer à la trilogie des Re;birth avant mais ça vaut le coup si c'est pour jouer au poulet qu'est VII après
