O gênero “beat’em up” tem estado na moda nos últimos anos. Ainda bem! É meu gênero favorito mesmo tendo ficado morto por décadas após o fim dos consoles de 16bits. Mayhem Brawler vem nessa esteira da moda.

Com visual moderno, porém peca um tanto na escala de profundidade. A profundidade é a característica técnica mais difícil de se fazer em um jogo do gênero, então “está perdoado”, pois não é como se isso fizesse o jogo ser ruim.

Ele possui 3 finais diferentes. E ao final de cada fase, você escolhe qual caminho (próxima fase) irá seguir. São 3 personagens iniciais, podendo serem desbloqueados mais 2 personagens.

A jogabilidade é boa e permite diversos tipos de combos. Os inimigos e chefes possuem um padrão de ataque que te forçará a aprender para golpear no tempo certo, além disso, o recurso de defesa é muito bem aplicado aqui, algo difícil de ver em outros jogos do gênero.

O jogo é curto e tem pouco conteúdo extra. Vai te render no máximo 10 horas solo. Com amigos, esse tempo pode se estender, é claro, pois fica mais divertido. Eu “platinei” em cerca de 8 horas.

Comprei em [b]dezembro de 2025[/b] por [b]R$11,99[/b]. Não está no meu TOP10 de “beat’em up”, mas tá OK pelo valor e pelo tempo de diversão que ele entrega, e lembre-se de não pagar mais do que isso.

Considerando uma régua de 10cm onde tudo que está acima de 5,1 é bom e tudo que está abaixo de 4,9 é ruim, eu diria que Mayhem Brawler está com a nota 6. “Passou de ano!”

Никогда не пишу обзоры к играм до того, как пройду их на все достижения, платину, кому как удобно. Но эта игра спустя каких то 40 минут заставила это сделать. Вроде помниться когда я играл в нее у друга по ремоуту, я думал, эй, ну неплохо неплохо, только когда сам купил это тихий мрак. В игре страдает самая важная часть жанра, сам геймплей, драки, и все, что с этим связано. Проблема начинается тогда, когда понимать что игре мало чего предложить, есть классический набор, комбо серия легких ударов, захват, удар с разбега, и три вида спешла, нейтральный, атакующий и воздушный. Да, все как в великих улицах ярости, хаха. если напрямую то это и есть клон сор 4, интерфейс и эта самая так скажем 3 спешл система оттуда. Ну так вот, проблема этой боевой системы тут в том, что она скучная, нельзя выдать охеревшею серию ударов на 300-500 хитов, не дропая противника, это невозможно как будто. Еще проблема как я писал выше, это стандартность боевой системы, ей реально нечего предложить, так то играть можно понятно, но я думаю, после того как я отстрадаю на платину, я больше никогда не вернусь в нее. Если говорить за другие аспекты игры, музыка ни о чем, честно, я обожаю музыку в играх, тем более в битемапах и/или слэшерах, но тут она не сильно выделяется чем либо. Графика да, приятная, анимации неплохие, но какие же они топорные, просто ужас. А да, если начинать на максимальной сложности. то будут у меня даже проблемы, а я не такой уж и простой игрок. Вот и думайте, кривая сложность или скилл ишью. Короче не знаю, можно, я бы влупил нейтральный отзыв, но это невозможно. По огромной скидке берите.
UPD
Забыл добавить что в игре есть видимые эффекты, баффы и дебаффы, вроде прикольно сделали что можно увидеть рекавери врага, или когда у него гипер арморр, но все равно как будто недокрутили.

Mayhem Brawler has a genuinely striking art style. The comic-book presentation gives it a lot of personality, and at first glance it feels like it should be an absolute knockout. The character designs are bold, the visuals pop, and there is a clear sense of style carrying the whole thing. It is the kind of game that knows how to make a first impression.

Unfortunately, once that first impression fades, the rest of the experience starts to drag it down hard. The music never really gives the action the energy it needs, and the overall rhythm of the game feels awkward instead of exciting. Beat 'em ups live and die by momentum, and this one struggles to find a satisfying flow. Combat feels stiff in a way that makes every encounter more tiring than thrilling, and that issue only gets worse as the game throws increasingly annoying enemy types and placements at you. Instead of creating challenge, it often creates irritation.

The story does not do much to help either. It is serviceable at best, but never compelling enough to carry the weaker parts of the game. In the end, Mayhem Brawler looks far better than it plays. Its art style deserves praise, but the frustrating combat, uneven pacing, forgettable music, underwhelming story, and enemy design choices turn what could have been a stylish brawler into an experience that just is not worth the headache.

Things that I liked:

- Good variety and quantity of enemies and scenarios. Including enemies with ranged attacks, exotic abilities, and different combat behaviors.
- More complex combat than in most beat 'em ups. For example, there are different possible "statuses" for the character and for the enemies. Some attacks or weapons can cause bleeding, confusion, increase vulnerability, etc., and each of these statuses is indicated by an icon above the character. The controls are very similar to those of SOR4, which I consider the gold standard of the genre.
- The difficulty is well balanced in story mode, the main mode. Those familiar with the SOR series will have no difficulty with the first three difficulty modes (cadet, agent, and superhero). But the "legend" mode (the most hard) is really challenging in the last stages. This can be frustrating for unskilled players (as I've seen in some reviews), but it's a beat 'em up, right? :). The difficulty level isn't very different from other beat 'em ups out there.
- I liked the "urban fantasy" theme; in many ways it resembles the "World of Darkness" from the famous tabletop RPG.

Cons:

-The scenery doesn't seem to fit perfectly on my screen. On a few occasions, an enemy would be on the left side, off-screen, and I couldn't hit it, having to wait for it to move out of the "blind spot." This isn't a recurring problem throughout the game, but it happens sometimes.
-The bosses are really overpowered on the higher difficulty level, to the point where it becomes almost impossible to beat them on "legend" difficulty without using weapons dropped in the scenery or without resorting to wall combos. On the other hand, the rest of the enemies are much easier. So, to win in legend mode, from stage 4 onwards, the scheme its always the same: perform long combos during the stage to accumulate a lot of lives that will be lost in the fight with the bosses.
-The Boss Mayhem mode is very unbalanced. The only hard achievement in the game is to beating the boss rush mode. The easiest boss rush mode has a difficulty level similar to beating the story mode on the hardest difficulty. Luckily, it's possible to get the achievement by playing on the easiest difficulty level.

Conclusion:
Its probablIts better than the average beat'em ups out there. A beat 'em up fan will probably enjoy it. A visual novel fan will likely be frustrated by the difficulty. Easy to get platinum (the only hard achievement is the Boss Mayhem). The main mode is good. The arcade mode is also fun. And although the boss mayhem mode is unbalanced, nobody really cares about that.
In my opinion, the game doesn't have much replayability. Perhaps because I played SOR4 a lot, which meant that only the hardest difficulty in story mode was truly challenging for me. Also, all achievements can be obtained by playing on easy, which doesn't encourage repeating the same levels as much. somehow feels repetitive after some playtroughts. but it still lasts at least 10 hours.
A solid game overall.

Лайтовая игрушка. Прошли за час с лишним на средне сложности. Могу скачать, что она не стоит свои денег по фул прайсу, рублей за 200 можно взять еще, по скидке, но не по фулу.

- Я не услышал хорошей музыки в этой игре
- Диалоги мега тупые, сюжет никакой, но это битемап, окей, на сюжет пофиг, но диалоги то хоть можно было норм сделать а не как для 3-х летнего ребенка?
- Короткая игра, на минут 40 подлиннее бы ее и было бы приятнее

Итог: Можно с другом поиграть, но ждите скидок иначе будет жалко 800р.

Mayhem Brawler from Hero Concept is a great modern beat 'em up that feels like a comic book has been brought to life.

It has fantastic visuals and music and fits perfectly amongst other modern brawlers like 99 Vidas, Fallen City Brawl, and Raging Justice.

There is a good variety of characters to choose from, and they all feel unique to play as. A great feature is being able to choose different paths, with your choice affecting the story and different enemies appearing.

The special moves and combat are easy to pick up but still feel rewarding. It is a great game overall, and I am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

A ton of fun. Multiple story branches and unlockable characters to make replay worthwhile. Combo system is decent--not to the level of Fight 'N Rage combos, but I think this is a better game overall. Production value is great. Straight out of a 1999 Image comic book.

Game has a great comic-book vibe and a surprisingly cool story with branching paths, but the actual fighting is just "okay." The combat feels a bit too basic because of the limited combo system, and while there is a block button, the blocking feels stiff and doesn't always flow well with the action. It’s fun for a single playthrough to see the different endings, but it lacks the deep mechanics that keep you coming back to other brawlers

Am Besten ist aber die Anzeige, ob ein Gegner gerade zurückschlägt oder ähnliches.

Auf "Normal" wird der letzte Level sehr schwierig. Als SoR II auf Hardest Veteran.
Auf "easy" komme ich ohne Probleme durch die Level.

Sehr schönes Spiel. Freue mich auf Teil 2

Sufrió muchas críticas por su diseño de arte,que decian que era un robo descarado a street of rage 4 pero no deja de ser un juego divertido. Tiene los clásicos personajes de este género. Lo bueno es que hay agarres y los personajes pueden correr. Se pueden desbloquear dos personajes extra en el transcurso de la partida y hay varios caminos en sus siete niveles para llegar a tres finales diferentes; eso le da una rejugabilidad bastante decente.

Los niveles no son muy largos y al final te espera el típico boss. En las cutscenes hay mucha cultura de la red social X, lo cual me pareció original, pero se torna aburrido e innecesario más adelante. La historia es una simple excusa para golpear a todo lo que se mueva, lo típico del género.

Una vez terminado, se desbloquean dos nuevos modos: Arcade (terminarlo de una sin créditos) y un modo Boss Rush; nada asombroso. En conclusión, es un juego decente para pasar un buen rato y, si puedes jugar con otra persona, mucho mejor.

This is an amazing Beat 'em up and deserves more recognition.

Gameplay is very similar to SOR 4, is bit fast paced with simple combos. Enemy variety is decent and the game has 3 different endings with multiple branching paths. So multiple playthroughs with different chracters is needed.

Graphics are beautiful and sound design is great too!

Overall strongly recommended - 8/10

The developers need our support for making the sequel.

Leaving my review because the developers of this game are scammers.

I enjoyed this game, it's short but that's one of the many things they said would be fixed in the sequel. So I backed the kickstarter. I thought they would be trustworthy given as they have shipped a game before. It was going fine for a little while then updates slowed down, backers were not kept informed of any changes, until finally, an update, saying the game is being put on 'Indefinite Hold' despite the game earning 3 times the amount asked for to fund the game's development. All we get is an update about how the game is 'No longer financially sustainable' and they 'Do not see viable conditions for resuming development before 2027' all accompanied by an ad for their new meme game, as well as them also hinting they are working at another game. Now, anybody who can read between the lines can see that this is the game being cancelled. Why would they decide to return to it in years for their backers? They've already shown they are willing to just take the money, spend it on what wasn't agreed upon, and run. Indefinite hold means they can, and likely will, never return to this project. Seeing as this wasn't just a delay and they are focusing on other projects.

So they have taken our money, then all of a sudden decided to drop the game to instead work on other things. Saying they used our money to keep the company afloat while they worked on both titles. Despite that not being what we backed, we backed the funding of Mayhem Brawler 2 and got abandoned. The project not delivered and our money not refunded.

All the backers were annoyed about this of course, myself included, so commented informing them of how this is fraud, how they need to give the people who gave them a chance, their money back. In return we got a few half assed replies. So some of us took to the discord. I along with others called the project out on being a scam, with Serkan Özay, of Hero Concept, being extremely condescending, telling people they are not being civilised and that we are attacking him just for calling the project out on what it is, a scam. Telling people they don't know how to run a business, while hiding behind the 'game development is expensive' excuse, that is not at all an excuse for Hero Concept taking our money and running off to make other games. Serkan Özay then deleted my messages about how this is a scam, banned me from the Mayhem Brawler discord, messaging me to 'Chill'. I would like to state that I along with the other backers voiced our frustration at being scammed, but were not 'attacking' anybody or saying anything uncalled for. We merely called the project a scam. Which it by definition, is.

We were lied to. The blog post stated that the reason it fell through is because they couldn't get a publisher which is why they started the kickstarter. But that would mean they set up the project knowing it would fail. We were promised a game in exchange for the $12,000 goal (Of which over $35,000 was paid) Our money was NOT given to keep their company afloat while they work on other projects. They then talk about future kickstarter projects, as if anybody would trust lying scammers.

Do not support these scammers.

👊🚓 Mayhem Brawler — олдскульный битемап с душой аркадных автоматов.

Классический мордобой в духе 90-х: идёшь вперёд, раздаёшь тумаки, подбираешь врагов и швыряешь их в других врагов. Всё быстро, ярко и без лишних усложнений. Управление отзывчивое, удары ощущаются приятно, спецприёмы добавляют динамики.

Визуальный стиль — комиксный, сочный, с хорошей анимацией. Музыка бодрая, отлично подходит под темп драки. Сюжет есть, он простой, но подаётся через диалоги и разные развилки, что для жанра скорее приятный бонус, чем необходимость.

Минусы тоже присутствуют: игра не слишком длинная, разнообразия врагов хотелось бы больше, а бои иногда превращаются в чистый хаос. Но всё это не критично и воспринимается как часть жанра.

🎯 Итог:
Mayhem Brawler — отличный выбор для любителей классических beat ’em up. Коротко, бодро и по делу. Хорошо заходит для вечернего прохождения или коопа без напряга.

Хороший битемап. В детстве на сеге и денди был обширный и богатый опыт игры в этот жанр. Поэтому хоть поверхностно, но как должно быть что бы было приятно рубиться с друзьями понимание есть.Перепрошли с друзьями SoR4, через день сели в эту игру. И на удивление неплохо, даже на фоне признанного титана жанра. Из плюсов. Разнообразие противников, атаки действительно разные, есть огнестрельное оружие, которым можно пользоваться, и которое усложняет игру. Сюжет подан неплохо, через стильные комиксы. Боссы интересные, показались на базовой сложности сложнее чем в sor4.Из минусов, картинка хоть и в целом приятная, но анимации персонажей не хватает плавности конкурента. Там от ударов по врагам ощущается отдача что ли, а тут это больше похоже на дерганых картонных болванчиков

Lots of dynamics to the combo system. What's done very well here is that there are advanced combos and more fundamental ones, but regardless of how high a level the player is at, they can still beat the game without having to have a mastery of the combo system. Also, since the gameplay is so fun and engaging, there is lots and lots of replay value. Definately one for your library!!!

Mayhem Brawler est un excellent beat them all
Fun , nerveux , jouables jusqu'à 3.
Une histoire bien sympa dans un univers d’urban fantasy.
Un choix de niveau qui peut aboutir à 3 fins différentes , c’est vraiment cool et ça varie les parties.
Plusieurs modes de jeu sont disponibles en plus du story mode comme l’arcade et un boss rush.
5 personnages jouables qui ont de la gueule.
La DA est du type comics et c’est bien agréable à l'œil.
Chacun a ses propres caractéristiques et panoplies de coups.
Le gameplay est simple à prendre en main et efficace, c’est du tout bon.
La bande son est excellente et donne du punch aux combats.

Si je dois lui donner des défauts.
Un style graphique un peu trop proche de street of rage 4 ( sortie un an plus tôt)
Des niveaux un poil courts.

Que dire au final que j’ai surkiffé ce jeu et que je vous le recommande.
Amateur ou non du genre.
Vivement le 2 !!!!!

Отличая игра.
Комбо - есть, рисовка - есть, кооператив - есть. Присутствует даже вариативность. А еще механика "чистого" блока, которая решает проблему других игр подобного жанра (имба-удар с разбегом) и дает возможность накрутить комбо через контр-атаки. Да и на сложности чуть выше легкой такой трюк с разбегом не спасет.

Персонажи действительно разные, у кого-то лучше проходят комбо в воздухе, кто-то отлично завершает супер-способностью, кто-то игнорирует дальние атаки, а кто-то сам умеет в прожектайлы.

Плюсом игры (а точнее издателя) два дополнительных персонажа, которых НЕ НАДО ДОКУПАТЬ (в отличии от многих других игр)
Из явного минуса: кооператив хоть и есть, но никак не влияет на игру (разве что только противников больше): нет комбо-связок, передачи хп (привет новым "Черепашкам").

Добротная игруля, еще и с прикольным сюжетом. Хотя этот сюжет такой, будто не хватает приквела.

Битемапчик средней паршивости. Выглядит отлично, но глубины нет совершенно. Пройдя по всем развилкам, играть больше скорее всего не захочется ибо боевка очень однообразная, нет глубины механик, а персонажи глобально не отличаются по мувам. Музыка тоже ничего так.

Puedo decir que en si el juego esta bueno se ve bien el dibujado todo ,eso si la jugabilidad la hitbox a veces falla cuando estas al lado de un enemigo no lo golpea pero el mas que seguro que te golpea,los agarres responden bien,el sistema de combos es basico podes extenderlo un poco pero no lograras mas de los combos normales de siempre no tenes combo tipo sor 4 no destaca en eso el juego,los jefes estan bien tienen un sistema tipo sor 4 que cada enemigo tiene 3 fases la mayoria luego de que le quitas una cierta cantidad de vida hace un movimiento diferente donde flaquea mucho es cuando el boss tiene la ultima barra de vida cuando le golpeas mas de dos veces hace un poder con armor que no podes hacerle nada y asi todos se vuelve lenta la pelea no hace otra cosa que espamear ese poder,los enemigos estan bien pero creo que se pasaron con los enemigos que tienen armas en el juego me ah pasado que hay 4 enemigos que disparan dos de cada lado y es un spam de balas mas el enemigo que tiene melee y pelea cuerpo a cuerpo creo que abusaron mucho de esos enemigos capaz en el boss final es entendible pero solo disparan y se alejan de ti para dispararte todo el dia,el juego en si no es rejugable como un sor 4 le eche 2 mil horas a ese juego,los personajes principales estan bien cada uno con lo suyo pero tienen poderes basicos y nada mas no esperes hacer super combos largos por que no podras,en si esta bien el juego pero,espero que el 2 corrija estos errores

Un gran Beat 'em up que lo disfruté de principio a fin, unos personajes muy carismáticos y gran diseño de arte.
El gameplay está muy inspirado en Street of Rage con leves cambios o añadidos(por ejemplo armas de fuego), además de ser un poco mas sencillo el mismo, sin embargo termina resultando muy divertido.
Tiene una historia sencilla pero está bien igualmente, además que te la desarrollan con un estilo de viñetas de cómic que le suman bastante!
Conclusión: sencillo pero divertido y a muy buen precio, lo recomiendo ;)

Качественный клон Streets of Rage 4, со своим сюжетом и персонажами. 5 героев на выбор, изначально доступно 3. Возможность выбора уровней после каждого завершённого уровня, 3 возможных концовки. Музыка хуже, чем в SOR4, но рисовка не отстаёт. Также есть кооп режим для игры с друзьями. В целом неплохо, для разнообразия хорошая альтернатива SOR4.

С первого взгляда кажется, будто это копия Streets of Rage 4, но на деле это лишь блеклый клон, которого достали из банки раньше времени, напутав при этом некоторые гены.
Единственное, за что можно с натяжкой поставить плюс за сходство, это графика, анимации.
Тут нет интересной музыки, тут нет динамики, тут нет стройного стиля.
Основная моя претензия к боёвке всё-таки и это ужасно, ведь это всё-таки битемап.
Конечно, может быть меньше чем за час я просто не распробовал боёвку? Но в Стритс оф Рейдж, Абсолюме, Касл Крашерс, Черепашках Ниндзя, - мне хватало этого времени, чтобы втянуться и дойти дальше. Тут у нас одна тактика против боссов (проверена на трё х): разбег-подкат-серия ударов-серия ударов - отбегаем, чтобы не получить. Всё, у них одинаковые патерны поведения по большей части. Первая стадия: просто можно избивать, но отбегать от него, потому что он будет сразу бить, как встанет.
Вторая стадия: у него появится какой-нибудь разбег или способность, от которой нужно отбегать.
Третья стадия: у него появится еще какая-нибудь способность, от которой нужно просто отбежать.
А с болванчиками еще проще. Стараемся держать их в кучку, мутузим. Поднимаются? Мутузим. Схватили? Используем способность на Y, продолжаем мутузить.
Гейдизайнеры не постарались отобразить различные статусы или удары персонажей визуально на самих противниках, вместо этого они нарисовали иконки над ними, что смотрится очень лениво и искусственно.
Ну и в целом механики недополированные. Непонятное окно подъема, когда тебя роняют. У меня это получалось несколько раз, но по ощущениям - случайно. Есть парирование, но я про него забыл практически сразу, как и про блок. Может когда-нибудь я с друзьями пройду эту игру, раз уж всё равно купил её давным давно, но любителям жанра эту игру порекомендовать не могу.

うーん、よくまとまっているとは思うが、敵が強くて爽快感は薄い。
強いというかスーパーアーマー持ち、起き上がり無敵攻撃がシステムに組み込まれてて、
それらを放つ時にちゃんとマークが出て教えてくれるんだが、
ベルトスクロールにおいて敵を殴る時いちいちそんなの考えないので、
結果として「ちょっと殴って反撃食らう」の繰り返しな感じ。
そしてそんな脳筋でも難易度は低めなのでＮＯＲＭＡＬで初回クリアはそれほど難しくない。
クリア後のやり込み要素もあまりなく、リプレイ性は低い。
セールで数百円なら。

Прекрасная игра! Простенький, но занимательный и увлекающий сюжет, разные концовки подстёгивают на пере прохождение и получение всех концовок, персонажи раскрыты более чем достаточно, что б понять, кто есть кто, отличный юмор, и уместные отсылки. В плане боевой системы всё хоть и простенько, но место для создания собственных комбо ударов присутствует. В общем, лично я получил тонну удовольствия.

If you are over 40 and liked arcades and comic books in the 90's you will love this game. If your not, give it a try, its a solid beat-em-up. 5 folks to play as, all with different move sets, a "choose your own adventure" style arcade mode and really well done production. I want more games like this.

I finished SOR4 then i played Mayhem Brawler - it's a weird experience because I really do like the art style of Mayhem Brawler and the overall graphics - it's good. However the combat is not as fluid and fun as SOR4. The campaign is really short. I finished it in less than 3 hours an unlocked all characters (also depends on your choices/path you take, but it wont take long to unlock all characters).

Thankfully i bought at a discount, so it wasn't that big of a pain - i wouldn't say I got my discounted price worth, but it wasn't too bad at all. Just tamper your expectations when you play this if you've played SOR4 or similar games before - it's not as good.

Let’s be honest, we’ve really missed this genre, and Hero Concept is doing a perfect job bringing it back. I’ve finished the story a couple of times now, and every time I think, “Damn, I’d love to read a comic based on this game.”

My favorite level has to be the one with Nosferau, it was such a fun to play! I can’t wait for the sequel. Keep up the great work!

I idiotically held off from playing this game for quite a while because I thought it looks too similar to Streets of Rage 4. Now that I have finally played this game, I can confidently say I couldn't have been more wrong.

It's a very fun game with addictive gameplay, tons of alternate routes, cool playable characters, its own separate vibe and good replay value - which is everything that you need in a beat 'em up. I definitely recommend this to everyone who likes the genre

Played through story mode on normal which kinda felt like a slog- this game loves to drop more and more enemies during the same scene, and they're kinda spongey too- even using the strongest character and starting a new playthrough on easy. Combined with the somewhat simple combo system, fatigue set in early for me.

Disappearing/reappearing enemies show up in stage 2 I think and are really annoying. The AI is also fairly more aggressive than I prefer. It always seems like there's at least one enemy with a gun that will without a doubt interrupt you doing a combo on someone else buying shooting bullets across the screen. It gets old quick.

You can juggle enemies, but they can also juggle you as well and it happens a lot. There's also no invincibility window after you get knocked down, so you can get hit multiple times. The dash and block mechanics are nice but the game feels a bit too fast to utilize defense when I want to go in full offense and mow down the high number of spongey enemies. Every single boss has the same pattern of- deplete a third of their life, they call in- you guessed it, more enemies, then some special move, and some sort of desperation move.

Arcade mode isn't unlocked until you beat story mode which makes no sense. In addition, the 2 extra characters don't unlock unless you unlocked their path in the story mode. PLUS...with arcade mode it's only one credit and no saves. I mean, really guys???
