It's a shame this game went the way it did.

It had great potential, and the freedom of controlling the corks and inverts makes the game so much better than any other (newer) snowboard game. It has control that Shredders lack and if you want you can really make it realistic.

Hope it was still going and updated. Game would have been amazing at this point. It still is, but please can someone with knowledge keep on with this games spinning and rail mechanics

The best snowboarding game on PC currently. It's not hyper realistic but still closer to Skate 3 than Tony Hawk in terms play style. Community made maps are a must as there are many many well created courses to choose from.

Si je devais qualifier Infinite Air with Mark McMorris, je dirais que c'est un anti-Steep : un gameplay plus technique, un terrain de jeu et des mécaniques plus cohérentes, mais très peu de sensations .
Ce qui ironiquement en fait, aussi, un mauvais jeu de glisse.

A la poubelle au coté de Steep donc ; qui, lui, en procurais malgré tout, des sensations .

Bref ! Après une heure d'ennui, je capitule .

This game is not easy off the bat, it DOES take a while to get into but the system is very nice once your understanding of flips and rotation comes into play.
I will enjoy making my own park at some point, I think that's maybe the developers decision or hope, that you mater the circuits then build and enjoy that level which i think is the ultimate for having bought the game.
It's a really good game, some physics are out of control but what game isn't at the higher end, skate isn't exactly real.. If you are a pick up and play kinda gamer this isn't maybe for you, after about 10 hours of game play you should see dramatic improvements as it starts to open up.
I rate this game highly, the judging on comps is nice, very fair for ♥♥♥♥ landings and rewarded for consistency.
I'd buy a sequel certainly, there should be an open park feature for online gaming.

controls feel really sloppy, customisation is terrible, the custom levels are cool but good luck trying to finding a fun one that someone else has made.

bought this when it got to spring and i couldn't board anymore but i think i'd rather scrape my face on asphalt than play this again.

the number of reviews basically tells you all you need to know
sure its a niche game in comparsion to some other stuf but still
if the feeling/gameplay was any better id say its a great game but as it is i just bought it and hated it right away bc it plays like fkn coolboarders 20 years ago
except cool boarders was actually enjoyable
id suggest you pick it up for free and then just buy it afterwards in case you enjoy it
as far as im concerned the only thing thats half way playable atm is still "steep"
"snow / the snowboard game / infinite air" and all those others that i picked up feel like 5$ games on a mobile phone as far as controls and other elemental aspects go
the best part about this game it prolly the editor and just killing some time for an hour or 2 every now and then
EDIT: since some ppl seem to think it has any relevance whatsoever ... yeah i been skiing and skating for roughly 40 and snowboarding for around 20 years myselfs too

A snowboarders favorite video game, spoken from me, a snowboarder for 14 years. This operates similar to the controls / physics of Skate 3 in my opinion, making it a much more fun arcade style snowboard game than any other because of the real tricks, rotation axis' and style from real-life pro's implemented into the in-game riders. It's also way sicker than Steep, change my mind.

I have spent ours (apparently more than 2) to fix that controller configuration issue in the game. The game just does not work with any controller and it does not say that information anywhere on this page...

Steam would not refund me due to my "playtime" has exceeded 2 hours of limit.

FTR, your "2 hours playtime" cannot apply here because I never got to play the game because it does not work with a keyboard and there ism't one sentence on the game's page where it says that I must purchase a specific brand controller to play this game.

This is unacceptable. the controls here take some getting used to. theyve gone the route of SKATE with board control, but i was surpirsed to see such an emphasis on body control as well. just like in real life, you have very little influence on where you go, mid air, and pulling flips and corks takes some careful planning and timing. i LOVE the controls here. you arent gonna find more realistic board control in a game. though with all of the effort put into realistic board control, i feel that landings are waaay too forgiving, the air you get is waaay over exxadurated, and the handling in turns is so stiff, it comes close to feeling unresponsive. im an avid snowboarder, i have spent countless hours on the mountain. Infinite Air feels like the team who developed it were trying to develop three completely different games. it initially presents itself as a simulator when it explains all of the controls and nuances you get to play with, then shows you a little over the top physics like landing a crazy spin off of a 30 ft kicker and you board landing perpendicular to he direction of travel at a rediculous speed, then you are thrust into the game world with a giant mountain to explore. the problem is that controlling your speed feels a bit clunky. so almost every run turns into hitting thinks at full speed and missing features.

i LOVE that there is a hill editor, but it feels so half assed that it was one of my biggest dissappointments. there really arent that many variations in features you can add. no tunnels, bridges, stairs, cars, trusses. they have a way to sculpt and smooth snow, make it groomed or powderey, but theres no way to add ice, serpentines, wall rides, moguls. there is no way to alter the ground either. you cant go down any deeper than the terrain gen. the editor feels so unfinished.

physics are wonky and completely unrealistic. you have me realism in the tutorial. i loved it. gimme more.

also your announcer is a prick. give him more lines. i love it

Selbst mit XBox Pad ist die Steuerung schlicht nicht zu gebrauchen. Sehr schwammig viele Fehleingabe. Manchmal ist es einfach keine gute Idee alle alten Konzepte über den Haufen zu werfen. Mit zwei Analog Sticks zu spielen ist zumindest für mich viel zu ungewohnt als das echter Spielspaß aufkommt. Das fehlen von anständigen Strecken abseits von Usergeneriertem Kontent ist auch mehr als Mau. Zum Glück im Sale für 2,99€ gekauft sonst wäre ich ernsthaft verärgert.

I own Infinite Air and The Snowboard Game.
The Snowboard Game is by far the best. Carving feels way better, tricks, controls, level design are better... There is also a real multiplayer, and it is awesome to ride with friends.
For me the only advantage Infinite Air has is custom maps.
Don't waste your time and try The Snowboard Game !

Infinite air in principle could well be regarded as one of the best snowboarding simulation on steam. An obvious mis-step was to release it around the time steep came onto the market. Has afew teething issues such as rails pulling the rider towards them, trick counter not registering tricks or registering null tricks (noticeable during half pipe events) & grab rotations continuing momentum after you release them. Ingame track listing is rather limited (better to turn it off & knock up your own music playlist) as is the current crafting tools in sculpting your own courses.

If you can look past some glaring issues, it's thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. Grab it before it gets taken off down from the steam store.

IF YOU HAVE A PC, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE GETTING HAPPY AND BUYING:
Bought this at 90% sale, but unfortunately it only work with xbox or playstation controllers IF you install a mod for that. As far as I know and tried, not a single key on the keyboard works as a replacement and it's no menu for control-keys. At once you are just presented with a press A or B and similar. I don't know why this is on Steam at all.

Annoying enough, even if I'm absolutely no sports fan, it actually looked fun, but all I could do was ride downhill until a tree met me.

Very fun and enjoyable game, i would highly recommend if you are someone who is into snow boarding. The controls can be a tad annoying but once you have figured them out it's not so bad. I am looking forward to putting many hours into this game. The game will be taken down from Steam after October 31, 2019. There is currently a 90% off until October 21, 2019 so i would say pick it up before Steam remove it.

Clunky controls and the open world style just doesn't suit the game well for me. Not a horrible game considering I nabbed it on sell for $3. If you like snowboarding and can get it on sell it's worth a play just to kill time now and then, but I wouldn't pay the full price for it. It's just not that good.

Quite disappointed with it to be honest, was hoping it would be a bit closer to the fun that I had with the ssx and 1080 games but unfortunately it doesn't come close, with no weather effects or time of day variations the atmosphere of those games just isn't there, tricks are hard to do and there is a lot of pop in, also performance isn't great for me either.. I`m glad that I got it on sale because I think that price - £2.49 was about what it is worth in its current state, if they sorted out the things that I mentioned it could be a good game and I might then maybe recommend it..

I would recommended over steep I own both of them and have some what of a good amount of hours on them both if you like snowboarding you should get this game has a lot of fun content in it and is realistic to a point where it makes you feel good from just doing one board slide. This game really is a must have for anyone who enjoys extreme sports exhibitions like the X-Games, or, even if like myself, you're an ACTUAL snowboarder. Unfortunately though, there are two major downsides. The first is that, even though this game was released for PC on Steam, [it] was designed with console play in mind; so, if you don't have any kind of "gaming" PC, don't bother because your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit, or graphics "card") won't be able run the game in its original, unabated form. Number two is that, despite the fact that this game is compatible with Windows and/or Mac, you CANNOT play [it] without a spare xBox or Steam game controller. Period. First and foremost, I got this game because I'm a snowboarder, both in mind and body; more importantly though, it was dirt cheap. So, yeah, no controller(s), no game. The game MAY have originally been on sale, but unfortunately though, because I'm factually going to have to purchase a Steam controller to play the game now. Because aforementioned Steam controller is roughly $55.00 (with tax & shipping), it puts the whole tab at around $60.00. So, realistically, the sale price that was $4.99 won't end up being a discount at all. Bummer, man. That having been said, I would still highly recommend this game to anyone interested in snowboarding--but NOT interested in spending the money that it takes to get into [snowboarding]; this is definitely YOUR game. The graphics and gameplay ARE incredible, and the career mode is elongated enough that you won't get bored very quickly; never mind the free play, which is all of the gameplay and grandeur graphics of career mode without the stress of career goals. Just remember, though: have your controller in-hand and synced up before you buy, download, or try to play the game. I know I'll be re-downloading and playing this game within the month's end, for sure.

ゲーム内容はシンプルに雪山を滑りつつ誰かが作成したチャレンジに挑んで競い合うもの。
操作形態はXBOXなどのゲームパッド推奨(左右スティック及びLR1・2全てを使用)。
左スティックが主にカーブの操作、右スティックが姿勢の操作、LRボタンはスピンのための準備動作に使用する。
今作のスピンは「準備して完璧なタイミングで回り始める」ようにやらないと回転がぎこちなくなってしまう。
他のスノボゲーのように「ジャンプ台が見えたから予めジャンプボタンと左スティック入力しておくかー」ではうまくいかない。

なお、着地の仕様はいわゆる「板が地面に接地すればセーフ」なので
STEEPのように「Gフォースのことを考えてこの後のラインを安全地帯側に…」とか考える必要はない。

■総評
標準の値段はそこそこ張るが、時期が過ぎていることもあり、
その気になればHumbleストアなどで$10未満で買えることもしばしばある。
操作形態は特殊で慣れが必要だが、
STEEPの体力制に苦手意識がある方はこちらも検討してみると良いかもしれない。
なお、本作品には日本語は無いため注意が必要(チュートリアルさえ終わらせればそれほど問題はないが)。

Wow, what's wrong with snow board games on PC???

Couldn't get Steep from Ubi-emo-weloveeveryone world company due to a language aberration (I reside in sad china so no english language there, that's how it is) - and then on this one, you can't change language, as it is carves itself within your PC system (french in my case) and won't let you have it in its original form. Unfortunaltey translation is bad to the point of being gibberish and the only fix is to install a third party soft, no thanks.

Were the controls a bit intuitive and easy to understand, why not. And though I understood this would not be SSX3 (unfortunately) getting to make them that... weird, is really an unexpected 'tour de force' - very disapointing as it seems to require a lot of learning just to start playing a bit.

Its okay... very little content and no periodic updates... but it's fun if you're into snowboarding and have a controller laying around. I wouldn't advice anyone to buy it if they're looking for a SSX-type game, because it is definetly not.

I love this game, so much so I own it on PC, PS4 and XboxOne. As someone who is pretty addicted to snowboarding this game feels like riding more than anything I've ever played. IMO this is the Skate 3 of snowboarding. Challenging to learn, but in return it provides a more real feel that makes for countless hours of fun. Not perfect by any means as the developers have not been allowed to put out many updates to this game, but I'll be playing this for many more years.

2/5. Better than the rest in genre, but still far away from perfect.
Some of the most arcadish features:
-Automatic mid-air leveling when spinning
-Rails are magnetic (jump near a rail and mysteriously start flying towards it)
-Plain retarded mid-air controls. (You can literally change the direction of your spin mid-air. lmao)
-Tony hawk style controls. (Press a button to spin lmao)
-Edging has no real effect on takeoff

Then you have the UI. Man, must be the most useless UI on the planet.
It's impossible to find decent user created content without GOOGLE.
Literally every player has uploaded their mountain because the tips tell you to do so. -.-
-->Mountain list littered with garbage mountains, due to the forced sharing (>99%)
--->No filters for mountains, no useful images to see what the mountain is like before testing
---->The only thing you know before you try out a mountain is the name

Multiplayer is useless. Only 2 persons can play at once and it has to be someone in the same PARTY. No servers.

Development stopped immediately after relasing this half-finished piece of ♥♥♥♥.

TLDR: The best snowboarding game out there, but still not worth the price.

The game is a lot of fun BUT Its not worth £30 (I got it on sale for about £6 GBP) The definition in the snow is hard to judge sometimes. Turning through powder is lack luster and the rails are sometimes a little screwy.

That said, the tricks are amazing and feels like Skate 3 in some aspects along with the mountain editor just gave me hours of fun.
That also said, it seems as if this game is no longer being developed/moved on by what I've read online so what you get here is what you get. That is why it is well worth the sale price but not £30.

This game is really fun but i wouldnt recommend buying on full price the devs dont support the game there hasnt been an update in 2 years theres a few bugs not game breaking but easily fixable and havent been that being said the physics are good and landing tricks actually feels rewarding buy on sale

I don't like this game. At all. The controls are unreliable, and trying way to hard to be different. They could've made the game challenging without making it boring and overly technical. Huge Skate Franchise fan here, I know tough controls, and this ain't it. The courses are bland and leave a lot to be desired. Nothing about this game excites or thrills me, which is something I would expect from a self-proclaimed "Snowboard Simulator". Even though you can choose a gender, you have limited style options. Very limited style options. You will never see your riders face because they are required to wear a facemask. The different articles of clothing have mix-matched colors. And the lackluster unlockables aren't worth the trouble of unlocking. There is no DLC and likely will never be any DLC. And the soundtrack is too short.

Bought this game on discount. Still very disappointed that there hasn't been a great snowboarding game since Amped 2 came out on the original Xbox. I spent over 1k hours playing that game. I doubt I will even reach 100 hours with this one. It's boring and unrewarding. Don't let the kids desperate for a snowboarding simulator fool you into thinking this is a good one. It's not. It's just the first snowboard simulator to come out in a long time.

I got this game on launch day. during the tutorial, I tought to myself, "wow this game is a lot like skate from EA" but as it continued, I noticed that the controls were un-natural and there seemed to be too much to press to do too little. It went from the fluidity of skate to being way too complex. I get on every once in a while because I forget how bad the controls are, then I re do the tutorial to remind me how to play the game and quit after doing a few challenges because I'm frustrated because I can only do a 1260 or a 360 with a pretty cool grab. I'm not saying that I want to do quad corks or whatever. I just want this game to feel more in control of the in air manuvers.
