Its Mahjong Solitaire with an Ancient Egyptian background. Not much else to it.

The game has a fairly long adventure mode where you have to match a number of key-tiles to complete stages. You don't necessarily have to match all tiles to complete a stage, only the ones with keys on them. There are three difficulties that make the game more challenging by increasing the number of tiles that need to be matched. In adventure mode, each stage must be completed before a timer runs out or it will result in a loss of a life. Run out of lives and you have to start all over. There are also stand alone puzzles that can be completed casually without worry or for practice if you are new to Mahjong Solitaire.

The game should run out of the box but it will only be playable in windowed mode due to the game's locked resolution. You'll get used to it.

Luxor Mahjong is an odd entry into the series, but still enjoyable enough. I would place this one more in the middle rather than heavily place it in recommend or not. If you are a mahjong enjoyer, this game will feel at home. The strange thing, of course, is Luxor titles beside this one are match 3 style puzzle games on a track. It is different, but alright.

The audio and music is there, the music fitting with the Egyptian theme. The visuals are fine for the time, but definitely seem too manila and could benefit from different tile skins. Game play is almost the same as classic matching Mahjong, with the twist of having God powers to help you solve the puzzles. Multiple modes to mess around in and a variety of different and challenging levels to play.

No really story, just complete levels to obtain artefacts to restore favor to the gods. No issues or bugs encountered.

Not too much else to say as it is relatively straight forward, you either like matching Mahjong or you don't. It is alright for Mahjong, but I have definitely played better. Also, having been a fan of Luxor for quite some time, I never played this one back in the day. Receiving it in the Luxor bundle is the best way, but I would still recommend buying the bundle on sale as it is a bit high for how old the games are (and the fact that a few of the titles need a patch to properly run them on modern hardware).

I know it doesn't sound exciting, but this is my MEDITATION APP. I have played this so much I can play without conscious thought and I just kind of Zen out. Yes, this game was never released as a standalone, so it's a little buggy in the interface (closing the game, etc.), but once you're playing it's absolutely great! My old computer crashed and I had to go FOUR DAYS without playing. 0_0 The download to the new computer just finished so I'm off to play!

还记得我当年玩这款游戏时的各种骚操作，直接把它从连连看硬生生变成了寻宝游戏XD 比如：

[*]场上某张牌找不到配对时，用赛特闪电把它闪掉再UNDO以找到配对牌的位置（一般都是压在底下了）。荷鲁斯复制也可以这样用，但如果被深埋在底下的话可能看不清楚是哪层。
[*]金钥匙位置确认后，可以把金钥匙上面和左/右侧的牌用阿努比斯之手抓过来或者用赛特闪电打掉，这样金钥匙就直接可用了。
[*]托特交换可以把你能看到的、但被夹在中间不可用的牌换到可用的位置。
[*]当年我玩的简单难度，还能无限洗牌，但中等难度下洗牌次数就有限了。

Pretty fine adaptation of one of the most famous oriental tabletop games, though it can get old after around 50 boards. Despite that it has decent variability on its own, though the shuffle buttom can sometime glitch up and not work. A fine game, but the price might be a little too expensive for what it offers.

Great game. Does run on Windows 10 in full screen mode for me. Just don't switch to another program because you will lose the game (it'll show a small, blacked-out window instead of full screen graphics). The game is pretty good about saving progress so if it happens, not that big a deal.

Хотя вот откровенно, сейчас этих казуалок просто море с разным уровнем качества, даже в магазин микрософта включен такой же маджонг, но с рекламой просто до ушей и выше. Поэтому в играх данного жанра недостатка нет. Всё это казуалочки, где нужно ломать глаза в поиске одинаковых пар фишек. Но в Луксор Маджонг есть свои фишки. Это такие бонусы, которые облегчают в некотором роде перестановку значений на поле. Вот только все описания бонусов на английском и вряд ли офисные работники будут здесь сидеть со словарём. Ведь есть пиратские версии всех луксоров с русским переводом и именно они и пользуются популярностью.

Возможно авторы бы перевели пиратов на лицензию, если бы не их халатность к продуктам. А ведь их лицензия вообще никак не способствует к покупке, кроме самого духа "ЛИЦЕНЗИЯ ЖИ". Вот только плюсов от покупки нет совсем. Тут ни достижений, ни облака, ни уж банально русского перевода. Про карточки я вообще молчу. Да что уж там говорить, тут даже современных разрешений в плане графики нет и придётся любителям маджонга ломать себе глаза. Картинка 4:3, широкого экрана здесь тоже нет. Но при этом все фишки мелкие, но на мониторе побольше сразу бьют по глазам лесенки на объектам. Сглаживания тут нет, да и вообще нет практически никаких настроек графики, кроме полноэкранного режима.

В общем, так себе приобретение. Может кого-то и зацепит, но прогресс без облака просто улетит в трубу при следующей переустановке системы. А многие вряд ли здесь будут разбираться в правилах без русского перевода. Текста тут очень много для казуалки.

I have played various versions of Mah-Jong on many platforms ever since "Shanghai" came out for my old Macintosh 128k back in the 1980's. This is a very nice visualization of the game. Nice graphics, and sounds and the Egyptian take on things is nice too. It runs very well on Win 10 for me with no screen flicker or crashes or other issues. Plenty of layouts to play and on the tougher ones, you will be keeping one eye on the timer as some can be rather hard to beat (for me anyway). You get some interesting powerups to help you along, though. The price is okay for what you get which is a good-looking game with plenty of playtime. A good little time waster, over all. I can reccomend it highly.

LUXOR: Mah Jong is Mahjong so you know right off the bat what to expect. If you don't like Mahjong, you wont like this game either, but for fans of the game LUXOR: Mah Jong offers stylish graphics, several modes of play, period specific egyptian music and a wide variety of power-ups that tweak the traditional game just enough to keep things interesting. The game also supports the Steam Overlay although true widescreen is not available. In most respects, LUXOR: Mah Jong is a polished puzzle game and deserves to be in the library of any serious Mahjong player. I highly recommend this game to fans of the genre, or even casual newcomers who enjoy a well done casual game.
