El port está un poco mejor que los anteriores pero sigue siendo deficiente. Se me cerró varias veces perdiendo horas de progreso y gráficamente es el que peor se ve de los 3 FFXIII.

Aparte de lo ya nombrado, el juego comienza débil pero va agarrando ritmo y me gustó bastante más de lo que recuerdo, tanto en historia como en jugabilidad.

Lo recomiendo. Me voy feliz de mi repasada por toda la trilogía FFXIII, pero le hace falta un buen remaster a todos ellos xd

This game is very fun and if you're a fan of Majoras Mask, you'll dig this. We're used to weird party systems in modern FF now so it being (mostly) Lightning shouldn't be an issue. The time mechanic seems daunting (hell I put this game off for a decade because of it) but they give you more than enough time to finish most things. There's a couple mods that make teleports free too so maybe look into that. This games battle system/garb rotation system is super fun. Once you get perfect guards (parries) down you'll be hooked on the combat. If you're new to games like this, I suggest Easy mode for your first loop since your HP regens. Normal and above it doesn't and you rely on limited heals and inns which uses time for heals.

The only real downside for me is the inconsistent performance and locking spell/gear upgrades behind NG+ (which is built into the game naturally, if you run out of time before beating the main quests)

Honestly, I'm angry with myself for not giving this game a try way sooner. I bought it during the Spring Sale for 7 dollars and it was worth every penny. Check it out and be sure to check out the mods on Nexus.

Summary: Rounding off the FF13 trilogy lies Lightning Returns. The setting is far far in the future of the FF13 universe. Time has been at a standstill for a long time and you have been tasked with saving as many souls as you can in the last 7 days left of the universe. Heavy stuff.

Kicking this game off, you will only be controlling Lightning and the combat reminds me of FF10-2 where you get stats and abilities from Dresses that lightning wears. This augments your abilities which you will juggle over three dresses that you hotswap in combat. Each has their own ATB gauge that charge even when not active so you are incentivised to keep swapping so you can keep performing actions. I did not like this combat system as much.

There is a constant timer ticking and events being to unfold around you in real time depending on the in game clock, similar to Majora's Mask. Therefore, this game pivots on you trying to cram as much as you can into the limited time you have allotted and I think the game was intended to be played over and over so you can learn about the world and what you can and cant do in the time provided. It IS possible to do the 100% run in a single playthrough for the most part, I think you need to dip into a second playthrough briefly to upgrade weapons and armour.

This game was fun but my biggest gripe was that it did not feel like a Final Fantasy game nor did it feel like a FF13 game either, it was certainly disconnected to the source material.

I love that this game FINALLY gives some character development to Lightning because she desperately needed it and this was the first time you really see what she is like (she makes a mean steak). She also has encounters with the FF13 cast once again and even throws in some FF13-2 characters too. I also love the concept of being able to hunt certain monsters to extinction if you keep fighting them.

It is a game worth playing but don't chase whatever minimal high you might have gotten from FF13 (I know I didn't) here and take it for what it is. Also the ending is crazy its almost worth playing just for that...

This is my first time playing Lightning Returns, and all I gotta say that it's a good game, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite in the trilogy. Although, the game lets you customize Lightning's outfit throughout the game to outfits that I love from other ff games like X or VII. The time management in the game kinda stresses me out if I want to squeeze as much time in order to get some of the trophies in the game. A game I wanted to play since I was young, and I really enjoyed Lightning Returns.

2026 this is the last part of the trilogy FF13 and by far the biggest disappointment ever.
-Don't get me wrong the story is great but the gameplay is a dizaster.

-U have only 13 in game days to complete the story or it's game over and u have to do a NEW GAME FROM BEGINING.
-Because of the timer all the time, u have to plan all steps in advance what is impossible without a GUIDE.
-U rush all the time and cant even explore the game or enjoy it, sadly.
-The battle system is also a mess compared to the previous 2 games.
-U can use only 3 sets with 4 abilities so max 12 skills total in previous games u have 6 sets each set has 3 different ability slots and each ability slot had 10 skills witch ment over 100 skills or so.
-This means u have to constantly rebuild your character and skils for batlles, thats ♥♥♥♥.
-For making your character stronger u need to do quests u don't get XP per fight anymore like in previous games and u barely have any time to do them because of the timer unles u plan ahead.
-And the best (WORST) thing is u have to FARM SKILLS another problem because of the timer and this is a big problem because u sometimes fight enemys that are afected by fire (or any other skill) and u dont have a fire skill jet cuz it didnt drop.

So far i had 2 crashes will update on the game lather

[b]Rating: 5/10 – Mediocre[/b]

[b]Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII[/b], the big finale to the [b]Final Fantasy XIII trilogy[/b], is a game that I found to be much more enjoyable than I anticipated. Unlike the ports of [b]Final Fantasy XIII[/b] and [b]Final Fantasy XIII-2[/b] this game actually functions out of the box without the need to download fixes. That doesn’t mean that this game’s technical state is perfect. The performance, overall, was quite [b]Bad[/b] at times, but the game isn’t unplayable.

This game, just like pretty much every [b]Final Fantasy[/b] game, has pretty [b]Good[/b] art direction and a [b]Great[/b] soundtrack. Similarly to [b]Final Fantasy XIII-2[/b], [b]Lightning Returns[/b] is fairly non-linear, with most of the game being about doing side-quests. I liked that, at least in concept. The story of [b]Lightning Returns[/b] is… interesting. The premise is [b]Good[/b] but overall the main plot is kind of [b]Bad[/b] and trying to be more convoluted than it really has any right to be or needs to be. On top of that the story concludes with an ending that is… interesting, I don’t mind it personally, but don’t think it really adds much. Each of the individual chapters doesn’t fare much better in that regard and the characters, especially [i]Lightning[/i] whom I actually liked in the previous games, don’t help that either since they just took away most of her personality here. The other characters don’t fare much better since they have the combined screen time equal to the duration of making a microwaved meal. And then you have the side quests. Some are clearly trying to tell interesting stories but there is a pretty big issue. Most of the side quests are just straight up [b]Bad[/b]. Everything’s a boring fetch quests and out of the maybe 60 to 70 or so side quests I completed about 5 had some amount of interesting writing.

When it comes to gameplay [b]Lightning Returns[/b] takes a big departure from the first two games in the [i]trilogy[/i]. Personally, I quite enjoyed the new combat system, and there is a decent amount of depth and possible build variety to the point where I’d even say it’s kind of [b]Good[/b]. The main issue is that often times participating in combat just isn’t necessary and I don’t think the removal of EXP and levels for this game was a [b]Great[/b] decision. But when talking about gameplay in this game there is a pretty big factor that has to be mentioned.

[b]Lightning Returns[/b] is one of those games with a time limit. And personally I dislike how it’s implemented – it either leads to me having to rush through things to get everything I want to do done, or to me needing to wait around just for the clock to hit a certain number / spend [i]Gil[/i] to wait until a certain time. It’s not [b]Bad[/b], but it could have been implemented into the game in a far better manner in my opinion.

Overall, [b]Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII[/b] is a [b]Mediocre[/b] game. It does some things right and many things kind of wrong. Despite being [b]Mediocre[/b] I personally found [b]Lightning Returns[/b] to be rather enjoyable and would recommend checking it out, especially if you’ve already played [b]Final Fantasy XIII[/b] and [b]Final Fantasy XIII-2[/b]. And once more the CG cutscenes look absolutely gorgeous.

Lightning changing outfits and looking good is probably the only part I like about this game. The schemata fighting system is definitely something new, but it's a bit confusing for my taste... The time management stresses me out a bit, and this causes me to sometimes not know which quests to prioritize. Everything feels like a chore. It's a quest-fetching game, and the fact that you level up by doing quests and not by fighting (like the previous 2 FFXIII titles) is a bit disappointing. The story doesn't seem to go anywhere (mind you, though, I'm still in Luxerion), and this is why I dropped the game. Maybe I'll get back to it someday, but for now I don't feel like recommending this game. Which sucks, because I really loved the previous 2 titles and Lightning is definitely one of my favourite video game heroines.

Completing the Lightning saga was a test of true patience and reaching the finale makes the journey feel entirely worth it. A controller is mandatory for smoother experience because it does not have mouse support. Lightning is best baddie.

If you buy this please know it isn't remastered in any way. The port for it is better than the one they did for 13 and 13-2 at least so you shouldn't have to do any extra patch download.

Avaliação: Muito Bom. É um jogo no mínimo exótico em suas mecânicas, a começar pelo cronômetro do fim do mundo que nos acompanha em toda a jornada. Não existe grind e nem level up, pra se fortalecer tem que fazer as quests principais e as quests secundárias para salvar as almas das pessoas necessitadas (além de algumas mecânicas auxiliares que são introduzidas aos poucos).

O combate deixa de ser em turnos para algo mais puxado pra ação, mesmo que as 3 barras de energia nos limitem de ficar apertando botões loucamente. Só controlamos dessa vez a Lightning que pode equipar até 3 conjuntos diferentes de equipamentos e habilidades, e vamos alternando entre eles em combate.

A ambientação em si é ok, com o que sobrou do fim do mundo com 4 regiões de tamanho médio para explorar e desenvolver a história. Trilha sonora continua muito forte. Temos 24 horas do dia do game para fazer as coisas, e toda vez que o relógio atinge 6 horas da manhã temos que retornar para a Arca para trocar o dia. Conforme vamos salvando mais almas, ganhamos alguns dias extras antes do juízo final.

A história acaba sendo o ponto fraco, é bem esquecível e se apoia quase que totalmente no fanservice. E parando pra pensar, a trilogia toda é bem mediana.

Lightning Return wraps up the Fabula Nova Crystallis series with a satisfying conclusion. If you grew up the 90's with that urge to channel Bart Simpson every time an authority figure in your life would preach about religion, this game fulfills that fantasy of looking at the religious business model present in America and saying [i]Eat My Shorts[/i]

While it is effectively an FFXIII-3 of sorts; the gameplay is new twist on the mechanics that were presented to us in the previous FFXIII games. Paradigm Shifting and Auto-Battle commands are replaced with Garbs (really invoking a FFX-2 vibe) and we're given the option to customize which abilities are mapped to the face buttons on the controller. For me personally, I'm a huge fan of this. The icing on the cake is that all of Lightning's Garbs are color customizable to a degree and getting those flashbacks to the Capcom vs. SNK 2 Color Edit mode were nostalgic bliss. So I can see [i]why[/i] this game wasn't shipped as Final Fantasy XIII-3: Lightning Returns. Gameplay is very much it's own thing and you can see the foundation of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy as well as framework that would be fully fleshed out in Final Fantasy XVI.

Whereas FFXIII-2 invoked that Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross vibe of traveling across time as well as the various branches that split off in parallel/alternate time lines; Lightning Returns' focus on Garbs as well as the 13 day time limit gives me Majora's Mask vibes. But kicker here is that I never feel rushed to complete something as the game gives you [b]plenty[/b] of time.

For a quick breakdown, there are five main story questlines that you must complete before the 13th Day; you can literally knock all of them out with 4-5 days and then spend the rest of the game doing side-quests. Which I do recommend because instead of the typical rewards system found in RPGs for completing the various fetch quests/hunts found, this game just gives you straight up stat bonuses for completing them. Something I found infinitely more rewarding that getting an item/resource that'll be used later.

As with the other FFXIII games (and the series in general), the OST for the game is top notch and I've found myself adding quite a few songs from it to my easy-listening / relaxing playlists.

In the end, I'm glad I stuck it out and say this series through to completion as I've found the journey through the games very enlightening with how they subvert and twist familiar tropes found within the FF games.

This game is a strange combination of Final Fantasy XIII and Majora's Mask as you must carefully manage your time before the end of all of existence.

Much like the previous two entries the gameplay is stellar as well as the story and characters, especially when we get to see the state they are in with the end of the world being near. It continues what made XIII and XIII-2 good and adds to it further, by far my favourite of the trilogy.

The PC version is still unstable so play on console if you can.

First of all: this game was a stuttering mess for me until I tried using dxvk with a few settings I found suggested in some steam forum post. Getting that set up was a real game changer.

This game, it felt to me, tries its absolute hardest to get you to quit playing within the first two hours. After the intro there is very little guidance on where to go next and with the specter of the clock looming over you it initially feels very oppressive. And you will probably run into enemies that feel like a horrible slog or even impossible to beat, and running away costs an hour of time (on normal).

But, after I persisted and started getting some more abilities and outfits, developed strategies for dealing with different enemies, and learned more about how the ability upgrading works, the game became a surprisingly compelling mix of planning out a schedule and making goals for each day and then working through them. And of course while progressing you will find even more tasks and things to do and have to figure out how to schedule them. It really does feel like you have complete control over how you will make it through the game.

The story was bad though.

The best game to conclude an amazing story. It has everything I wanted as an FF13 fan. Fun battle system, appearances of characters who I dearly love and I care about, and of course, Hope Estheim.

English mistranslation can be fixed with a mod, no problem.

It's one of those games that I would replay in the future for sure.

Solid game, good ending to the trilogy. Out of the three this one performs the best. I'd say this is the best game of the trio and it's worth moving through some of the low points of the first two games, like FF13s linear nature and FF13-2 cryptic game design. LR has the best battle system with tons of customization options and a boatload of side content. Graphically this isn't always as impressive as FF13 but that's because the world is much larger and gameplay way more open. As usual steam is way off with play time, 47:47 in game time for easy + 2:49 on normal (and 15-30 minutes lost on two different crashes) so about 3 hours off. 83/83 canvas of prayers, 61/66 side quests.

Lightning was frozen in time for 500 years yet suffering through this game felt longer.
Pros:
-Good combat
-Theorycrafting and unlocking gear is enjoyable
-Lightning is cool enough
-One truly emotional moment.. With a random robot npc? WTF.

Cons:
-Horrible time management system which will have you anxiously saving the game all the time while switching back into your menu to freeze time each 20 seconds. The game forces you to use guides and tutorial videos in order to be somewhat efficient. If you do decide to punish yourself and play this game, read more cons:
-Lightning is your only playable character. On some maps you'll get some characters playing alongside you but you will not have control over their combat moves.
-Jarring visual downgrade compared to FF XIII 1 and 2
-Backtracking and being locked out of areas at certain times of the in-game day will make the sidequest system even more insufferable.

After I finishsed all the main questlines the story just halted without any guidance on where to go next only for the game to add more of it after stumbling onto a familiar face at the edge of one of the maps. Apparently there is a way to unlock a true ending yet the game won't tell you what the exact requirements are and how to do it and I am now micromanaging my ingame time even more neurotically to prevent having to redo everything in a New Game + Mode that would add at least 50 more hours of mental anguish.

I've actually decided to just watch the true game ending on youtube because of how unenjoyable the experience is. If you are a masochist, this game might be for you.

talking about gameplay, it's not bad, but changing the battle mechanics just for this game was certainly a choice. story wise there's just so much missing. like a whole 500 years pass with no one aging but no one really mentions it in game, i mean they do sometimes but it just feels so meh. there also should have been more content with the main cast, thats what i liked about ff13, the characters really connected, not so much here :/.
[spoiler] AND THE ENDING.. whole main cast shows up to clap god except they switched out Sazh for Noel AND THEY GIVE HIM HIS EIDOLON? [/spoiler] lowkey racist ngl. Lightning Returns is a nice but flawed ending to the XIII trilogy.

Story-wise it starts pretty weak. During the first 5 hours I was actually thinking I might drop the game, but I endured and I’m glad I did. The story is segmented into 5 main arcs across different locations and focuses on characters from the previous games. I’ll briefly summarize each arc without spoilers.

[b]The first arc[/b] has pretty dark and gothic vibes, which I liked. It also tries to be a detective story, but it doesn’t really succeed. The story didn’t grab me at all here and honestly it felt kinda boring. It also felt like nothing important really happened.

[b]The second arc[/b] is much better and easily the best in the game imo. The story is fun and engaging, and it has one of the most iconic scenes in the whole trilogy in my opinion. I loved every second of this part.

[b]The third arc[/b] isn’t anything special story-wise, but it has a few moments I liked. The strongest part of this arc is definitely the location. It’s probably the biggest and most varied area in the entire trilogy, and I really enjoyed exploring it.

[b]The fourth arc[/b] is set in the desert. The story is again nothing special, but it has some Tomb Raider vibes. I also really liked the sand sliding mechanic xd.

[b]The fifth arc[/b] is basically just a fetch quest across all locations. The ending of this arc is good, but the fact that it’s mostly fetch quest stuff really drags it down.

[b]The finale[/b] is absolute cinema. I loved almost every part of it, except some cheesy moments and THE boss fight. Who the ♥♥♥♥ thought it was a good idea to make a boss fight with four phases that can one-shot you?????? xddd (skill issue I guess idk xd)

There is also a new important character in this game, “Lumina”, and I loved every single scene she was in. She is brilliantly voice acted.

I was very satisfied with Light’s story arc across the trilogy. Snow’s arc was also well done. But the other characters could have had better made arcs.

Overall I really liked the ending of the trilogy and it acutally surprised me, but I can see why some people don’t like it. The story is definitely not perfect and FF13 is still the best one story-wise, but I liked Lightning Returns more than XIII-2.

[h2]Writing and Voice Acting[/h2]
Writing sometimes feels bloated. Something that could be said in 2 sentences is said in 6. It’s not every dialogue, but it happens often enough to be noticeable.
Voice acting is also pretty inconsistent. Sometimes it’s genuinely very good, but other times it sounds like the actors are just reading the script with zero emotion. Also HOPE NEVER SHUTS THE ♥♥♥♥ UPAHDJGOUGB 😭

[h2]Gameplay[/h2]
Gameplay in Lightning Returns is pretty different from the previous two games. There are no XP points and stats only increase by completing main quests and MMO-like sidequests. Honestly, kinda stupid decision.

What I loved are the Garbs. There’s a bunch of outfits that give different buffs, abilities, and trade-offs. Only issue I had is that some are very slutty/skimpy, like something even Eve from Stellar Blade wouldn’t wear xdd. Imo it doesn’t fit Lightning.

Instead of upgrading weapons (XIII) or monsters (XIII-2), you now upgrade your abilities by combining them. For example, you combine Attack lvl1 + Attack lvl1 and you get a stronger Attack lvl1. Once it reaches max XP in lvl1, you can upgrade it to lvl2. I didn’t really like this mechanic, it just didn’t click with me.

I really liked the open world exploration, especially in the Wildlands.

This game also has a time limit. Basically, you have 13 days to complete the game. I was taking it very slowly and finished all the main quests on day 9, so it’s very forgiving. You don’t have to worry about it at all. It’s a cool mechanic, but it feels too safe.

[h2]Combat[/h2]
Combat is completely different and I must say I’m not a huge fan. I liked that they tried something new, because by the end of XIII-2 I was getting kinda burned out on the XIII/XIII-2 combat. I wouldn’t say this combat is bad, it just didn’t click with me.
One thing that bugged me is stagger. Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes you stagger an enemy and the effect instantly ends.
There are a few things I did like about this combat though. Being able to perfect parry is awesome. Also, your health doesn’t recover after a battle, so potions are actually useful xdd.

[h2]Graphics[/h2]
Graphically it's still pretty good overall, except for the place you start in. While Luxerion has nice dark and gothic vibes as I said before, the textures there look like they were made for PS2. Other than that, it’s a nice looking game. Maybe only the Wildlands look a bit dated in some places, but it’s nothing horrible xdd.
As with the previous game, most of the cutscenes are in-game, which isn’t bad, but I just love the look of XIII’s pre-rendered cutscenes.

[h2]Soundtrack[/h2]
Soundtrack is made up of reused tracks from previous games, re-arranged/alternate versions of tracks from previous games, and some new tracks. My favourite track from the new ones is probably "Midnight Eternal". I also really liked the alternate version of "Blinded by Light", called "Crimson Blitz".

[h2]Technical[/h2]
This port is easily the best in the trilogy. You don’t need any patches or anything. I did however run into one place where there’s a chance the game can crash "Yagd Woods" so it’s better to save more often there just in case.

[h2]Overall Impressions[/h2]
The game is good. Some say it’s the worst of the trilogy, others say it’s the best. I personally liked this game a bit more than XIII-2. I still think XIII is the best one, and I also think that if XIII was standalone it would have been better. But XIII-2 and Lightning Returns are nice additions. I’m really glad I played this trilogy.

Putting nostalgia aside (I played this as an 11 year old in 2017 and now I'm almost 20), the game is not very good, it has good qualities, the ost is great, the battle system is ok, (some) areas have good art direction, but the story is very uninteresting at this point (imo the story of 13 should've ended with the 1st one), the art direction in anywhere other then Luxerion and Yusnaan is pretty generic and not as good as 13 or even 13-2, and the entire concept of a timer, while interesting on paper, is very very tedious in practice, and the side quests are 95% fetch quests and "go talk to A and then go to B", which could've been forgiven if I wasn't forced to do 50 of those to get the ending.
anyways, it's not a very horrible game by any means, it's just screaming 6/10 for me personally.

Главная тема тут — контроль в условиях неизбежного. Ты буквально управляешь временем: квесты и персонажи доступны в определённые часы, а мир меняется от рассвета к ночи, будто сцена в театре, где декорации переставляют прямо при тебе. Это рождает редкое чувство “игрового расписания”: ты планируешь маршрут как диспетчер и в то же время импровизируешь, потому что любая задержка — это упущенная человеческая история.

Боевая система — ещё одна нетрадиционная штука: это экшен с прямым управлением, но с ДНК Final Fantasy. Лайтнинг дерётся не «в одном образе», а переключает схемы (schemata) — костюмы/сеты, которые меняют оружие, умения и роль в бою. В результате сражение ощущается как переодевание на скорости: один сет — для контроля, другой — для урона, третий — для спасения ситуации.

FFXIII wasn't the best Final Fantasy but the story was compelling enough and the combat was decent once you got the hang of it. The combat in this is insufferable. There's so much waiting around for ATB to fill while you and your enemy walk around like morons. The story is barely a sequel, its not really the same world, its no actual continuation. It's just reusing characters from XIII and the whole hero chosen by god trope sucked given the material they had to build off of in the previous title.

I think the first game is my favorite of the series, but I will say that playing LR through to the end was superior. Even if between the ending of the first all the way to the finale was making me have second thoughts, the ending was worth it.

Gameplay wise this was different, but I enjoyed the challenges and new mechanics. I may even have enjoyed it more if I didn't have the previous paradigm shift system ingrained in me (throwback to when it got better on Grand Pulse in game one).

Overall, great series that I recommend. I'd say just play through FF13 (second throwback to it taking me 3 tries over like 10 years), but if can't help but start the second or just really liked the characters then yeah you have to play all of them because this ending completed the trilogy.

Man i remember loving this game when it first came out what was i thinking. The nostalgia goggles were turned up to the highest for this moist turd, story wise i should have stopped at FF 13 even though FF 13-2 is my fav of the three. This is such a lack luster game it has a story that makes no damn since, gameplay that is hot crap, voice actors that sound like they were paid in wet birthday party napkins and a battle mechanic that is weirdly difficult and by difficult i mean there is no way to tell what enemy is going to be tough besides what they look like also there is the absence of any kind of traditional level progression they took the FF2 way of just leveling gear and skills (which i personally hated) AND HOPE NEVER SHUTS THE F-U-C-K UP

Final Fantasy 13-3 Lightning Returns feels like a game that knows how to impress you… and then immediately tests how much patience you have. TLDR - A stylish, great sounding game with bold ideas and an excellent finale, dragged down by filler quests, forced time pressure, and the sense that it only occasionally lives up to its own potential.

What it absolutely nails. The presentation is gorgeous in that Square Enix way: stylish menus, bold color palettes, and a world that looks like it’s racing toward the end of everything. The music is consistently excellent, from melancholic piano pieces to high energy battle themes that remind you this is still Final Fantasy at heart. The voice acting is another high point: Lightning is more human and introspective here than she’s ever been, and the supporting cast generally delivers strong, emotionally grounded performances that sell the stakes of a dying world.

Combat, at least on paper, is one of the game’s smartest ideas. The new system adds flexibility and experimentation, letting you swap roles midbattle and tailor Lightning to your playstyle. When it clicks, fights feel tactical and rewarding, with a real sense of momentum. The game also deserves credit for trying something bold with its structure: the time pressure, open-ended progression, and player-driven pacing aren’t safe choices, and that ambition is admirable.

What doesn't nail. The constant countdown timer (1 irl hour for a day in game), meant to create urgency, mostly just creates stress. Instead of feeling like you’re making meaningful choices in a doomed world, you often feel rushed, punished for curiosity, or nudged into optimal routes rather than organic exploration. Every side quest and even a surprising number of main story missions feels like busywork that exists purely to pad out the runtime, not to meaningfully develop the world or characters. Instead of building urgency or emotional weight, they blur together as disposable errands that make the apocalypse feel not important.

The world itself, while visually striking, often feels fragmented and lifeless. NPCs can come across as oddly stiff, and the narrative delivery outside of key moments is uneven, sometimes bordering on tedious. The combat system, for all its potential, is undercut by frequent recycling of enemies and encounters that blur together over time.

And then there’s the finale. It’s so good. Focused, emotional, dramatic everything finally locks into place. The pacing HITS, the story HITS, the animation HITS, and the game delivers a genuinely powerful ending that makes you stop and think: why couldn’t the whole game be like this?

That’s the real frustration of Lightning Returns. Buried inside it is a great Final Fantasy experience, one that sometimes dazzles, but too often trips over its own design choices. By the time the credits roll, you’re left appreciating the ambition and craftsmanship, while wishing the journey to get there hadn’t been so uneven and disappointing.

Il terzo capitolo di una trilogia è difficile da creare se si sta parlando di una serie che va avanti dal 1987 con capitoli della serie autoconclusivi. ■FF13で終わりにして、FF13-2から別のゲームにすべきだった
リターンズは、やはりライトニングしか操作できないで、かつての仲間と戦ったり、オーディンがチョコボになって出てくるとか、サッズもあの部屋で頭を抱えているとかどう考えても「このゲーム、最初から書き直したほうがよくない？」という、鳥山劇場の問題点が大きいと感じました。ルミナの存在も意味不明でしたし、ホープも変です。戦闘はまあ、独特でそれもいいとしても、ライトしか操作してないしサブクエスト多いし、やはりFF13の初期の緊張感が遠のいた感じがして、FF13とは違うゲームです、って最初から言っていたほうがよかった気がします。おすすめはしますが、ライトニングリターンズは３０点／１００です。FF13は１００点／１００でした。

■ブーニベルゼの意図が完全に違う…
ブーニベルゼは、ファブラ・ノヴァ・クリスタルの起点だったはずなのに、なんか論点ズレてしまってますよね。母である女神ムインも1度も出てこないで、娘である女神エトロも死んじゃった状態で、ムインが登場しないというのは鳥山氏が考えていた最初の起点と随分遠くかけ離れたストーリーになったと思います。

FF零式もそうですが、女神ムインが出てこないことには、勘の為にカオスが地上に溢れたのか分からなくなってきました。ブーニベルゼは、女神ムインを探すためにコクーンを作ったり、グランパルスを作らせたのではなかったかと・・・。たぶん、女神エトロと女神ムインとの間のストーリーを作れなかったのは、ライトニングがいたからだと思います。存在が大き過ぎて・・・。ブーニベルゼにしても、世界観の設定を間違えちゃった感が強いです。私としては、FF13は傑作だと思ったのですが、エンディングがあれで終わっていたならば。FF13-2に続いたのは大失敗だと思います。昔、PS3のFF13-2は1200円で買いましたから・・・。FF XIII ライトニングリターンズは、980円が定価でも問題はなかったかもしれません。

■鳥山氏は人の心と向き合いたかった
人の心とは何なのか、カオスとか何か。女神ムインは、結局、カオスの中に紛れ込んだ。女神エトロは死んじゃったみたいになってますが、本質的には死は不可能なので、意識としていないわけにはいかないが、ゲーム上ではライトニング自体が神であり、女神なので、それ以上の実体存在を作れなかったという感じでしょうか。人の心は創造でしかない。また、想像できない場所にはカオスがあり、単なる暗闇があるが、結局、鳥山氏は、人とは何か、と言いたかったのでしょう。世界は人の心であり、その集合体があり、死は存在しないと。

LIGHTNING RETURNS™: FINAL FANTASY® XIII es el tipo de rol japonés que te seduce con música espectacular, ambientación potente y una protagonista que podría regañar a un meteorito hasta que se vaya. Su gancho real está en la personalización y en cómo el combate te empuja a pensar y reaccionar, más que a repetir.

Pero también es un juego que te pide aceptar su “controversial” filosofía: libertad con cronómetro. Si te encanta optimizar, planear y sentir que cada decisión importa, aquí hay oro. Si juegas para relajarte explorando sin presión, este “fin del mundo” te va a poner tareas como si fueras becario del apocalipsis.

Con 63 jugadores activos, no es precisamente la fiesta del barrio, pero 3931 recomendaciones totales dicen que la comunidad que se quedó… se quedó con ganas. Vale la pena si te llama el JRPG de acción con personalidad y no te asusta que el tiempo sea un sistema, no un detalle.

The story of Final Fantasy 13 finally ends with Lightning Returns, the game starts of multiple centuries in the future since the end of Final Fantasy 13-2 where we finally reunite with Lightning the protagonist of Final Fantasy 13 as she set off her quest to be the savior of humanity. As the story goes it questions if it's worth to live in ignorance or face reality for a potential hope for a better future. The main quest is mixed personally as some characters from the previous games character arc felt abruptly concluded in this game, but for Lightning it's a good conclusion for her story which the multiple side quest from NPC story helps characterize her journey.

[h3]Gameplay, Progression & Quests[/h3]
Unfortunately the Paradigm Shift system from the previous games is not implemented but changed to suit the narrative it's trying to tell, instead we have up to three main Schemata(Equipment & Ability slot to change mid battle) for Lightning the only playable character to shift and also diversify for different encounters otherwise the player will end up with low health at a horrible spot just because .
There is no traditional leveling system instead enemies will have a chance drop abilities some times equipment depending if they are at a Chaos Infusion it will be an even better drop for the player to use, as the game progress the player will purchase or find Garbs, Weapons, Shields and Accessories to equip, the upgrade system for the abilities and equipment is locked far late at the end of the game probably to avoid balancing issues.
There's a mechanic to help the players if an attack hits an enemy out of combat they lose a certain percentage of their health after switching into combat, if they're alerted they lose a minor amount if they aren't they lose more the same will be applied to the player as well if the monsters land a hit.
There are three types of quest Main, Side and Canvas of Prayers which is a from a board, every quest will reward the player permanent stat boost when completed, the more side quest is completed the player will unlock an extra day of the game with a bit more challenging content as well as the true ending of the game.
There is also NG+ in this game which helps the next run easier as the player accumulated stuff from the previous playthough.

This will be the biggest factor of the game if the player will enjoy the game or loathe it, there's an in game timer ticking down up to 13 Days and the player have to plan accordingly what to do in advance, rememeber each area to traverse, to save and have enough time for certain quest or activities if all else fails save files is your best friend or a guide online [b]*cough*[/b].

Again you would think Square Enix learn PC port is important but no the game only supports Controller and Keyboard not Keyboard and Mouse, to have the Mouse to function we have to download a program for it. I played it fully till the end with just the keyboard...

With this, I finally finished the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, which took me 8 years to complete.

What a trilogy, and what a journey it was for me.

However, Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns was disappointing in many ways. The only real positive is that it gives the story a final conclusion, and that is the main reason I would recommend this game.

Starting with the story: for me, it already felt stretched in FFXIII-2, and here it reaches a new level. A 500-year time skip feels ridiculous, with many poorly written details. Except for the ending, the rest of the story is very weak and slopy, including both the main story and side quests.

The gameplay was the biggest disappointment. They removed one of the most important elements of a Final Fantasy games, party-based combat and experience leveling and replaced it with a solo character system where your stats are controlled by gears. This made the game way much less fun. They also introduced an entirely new system that I had never seen before. I’m not sure if it’s objectively good or bad, but I personally did not like it. The game puts a time limit on your playthrough, forcing you to finish before the clock runs out or restart from the beginning. As someone who likes to play slowly and explore, this was an unpleasant decision. They changed the gameplay so much that it ruined what they had built in the previous games.

Overall, the game feels low-budget compared to the earlier entries. There are very few cinematic scenes—maybe only one or two. Completing the main game, almost all side quests (except one that requires New Game+), full exploration, and defeating all monsters took me only 72 hours. The previous games took me over 100 hours each.

LIGHTNING RETURNS™: FINAL FANTASY® XIII is a strange but fascinating finale: part action-RPG, part dress-up buildcraft, part time-management adventure. It’s not the most welcoming entry point, but if you’re willing to meet it on its own terms, it delivers a distinctive tone and a surprisingly addictive gameplay loop.

The combat is the highlight. Lightning feels fast and responsive, and the “Schemata” system (swapping roles/outfits mid-fight) creates a satisfying rhythm of setting up stagger windows, rotating defenses, and cashing in damage at the right moment. Battles reward preparation without turning into pure menu math, and boss fights in particular can be tense in a good way.

The game’s big gamble is the in-world clock. Days pass, quests consume time, and there’s constant gentle pressure to plan routes and priorities. For some players it’s thrilling—every decision feels purposeful—while for others it’s stressful and restrictive. The good news is that it’s generally more forgiving than it first appears once you learn how to manage it.

Structurally, it’s more open than the previous games. You hop between areas, pick up side stories, and assemble your own “what matters most” checklist instead of following a straight corridor. That freedom helps the pacing, but it can also make the world feel a bit segmented, like a collection of hubs rather than one fully seamless journey.

Story and character work are a mixed bag. The atmosphere is melancholic, Lightning’s role is clear, and there are moments that land emotionally—especially if you’re invested in the trilogy. At the same time, the narrative can lean into melodrama and lore-heavy exposition, so patience helps if you want the payoff.

Progression is where the game becomes quietly compulsive. Tweaking abilities, optimizing garbs, and hunting specific drops turns into a real “one more upgrade” spiral, and experimenting with different setups is more fun than it sounds on paper. If you enjoy buildcraft and customization, this is the entry that finally lets Lightning feel like a system you can truly shape.

Overall, LIGHTNING RETURNS is an uneven but memorable RPG with excellent combat and a bold structure that won’t work for everyone. Recommended if you like action-heavy Final Fantasy, customization, and a bit of strategic planning; not recommended if you want a relaxed pace, a simple story, or a traditional linear JRPG flow.

RESEÑA CRÍTICA: LIGHTNING RETURNS - FINAL FANTASY XIII
Calificación: 5 / 10 Estado: "Un experimento fallido que se queda en tierra de nadie."

Aunque intenta ser innovador, Lightning Returns acaba resultando una experiencia mediocre (meh). Es un juego que confunde libertad con desorden y que estresa al jugador con mecánicas que no pedía, rompiendo el encanto que la saga pudo tener en el pasado.

1. El agobio innecesario: El tiempo
La mecánica del reloj es, para muchos, el error fatal. En lugar de dejarte disfrutar del mundo (como en Hogwarts Legacy o Enshrouded), el juego te pone una pistola en la sien.

Esa presión constante hace que la exploración sea superficial y molesta. No puedes saborear el juego porque tienes miedo de perder tiempo, lo que convierte la experiencia en un trámite estresante en lugar de un hobby divertido.

2. Misiones de relleno y mundo vacío
Como bien dijiste de NieR, aquí el mundo también peca de estar vacío y, además, es visualmente irregular.

Las misiones secundarias son, en su mayoría, insulsas: buscar objetos perdidos o hacer de recadero para NPCs sin alma. Cuando un juego de esta escala te obliga a hacer tareas tan pequeñas bajo presión, la sensación de "juegazo" desaparece y se queda en un simple "meh".

3. La desconexión narrativa
Después de dos juegos, la historia de Lightning se vuelve tan abstracta y mística que pierde el interés. Si la historia no te atrapa y el mundo te agobia, lo único que queda es el combate, pero no es suficiente para salvar un producto que se siente desequilibrado y extraño.

Veredicto Final
Es un juego que no convence. Intenta arreglar la linealidad de FFXIII pero se pasa de frenada, creando un sistema que resulta más molesto que liberador. Es un título prescindible que solo los muy fanáticos terminarán, y para el resto, pasará sin pena ni gloria por su biblioteca. Un "meh" en toda regla.

Lightning Returns / Final Fantasy XIII-3 is the saving throw to make Final Hallway better, and it succeeds in a lot of places but fails in several key areas, most notably it metaphorically throws the baby out with the bathwater and scraps most the battle system entirely which was a brave and bold move to make but the crafting is a welcome addition. It feels like something that was brought in with FF8 the gather of materials to upgrade your weapons, or with FFX where you could modify your weapons via items but in a more fleshed out, refined manner. I really enjoyed crafting Accessories, Weapons, Armour etc.
Plus seeing it reflected in the game via the visual differences was a nice touch but this feels about as far removed from Final Fantasy as it can get, it's almost like an entirely different game with a FF Skin on it and given what I know came up after this game (Origins) this feels like a precursor towards that, or even Type-0.

Final Fantasy XIII: Lighting Returns, или же Final Fantasy XIII-3. Было много мыслей после прохождения фф-2 насчёт этой игры, столько людей говорили, что это "лучше" чем предыдущие части, но какое же разочарование ждало меня.
Начну с главного плюса, и это... Лайтнинг вернулась, и сразу к серьёзному минусу... лайтниг вернулась. Серьёзно, скваеры очень хотели вывезти эту игру на одном символе 13 части (потому что она единственная, за что стоит хвалить эту часть, и в принципе трилогию 13 части) что вместо XIII-3 написали о том, что лайтнинг вернулась. Они хотели продать игру не сюжетом, геймплеем, а, ♥♥♥♥, коллаборациями, примерно так они строили эту игру: "блин, нам нужно продать абсолютно никчёмную игру в абсолютно никчёмной части, давайте накидаем всяких скинов и наборов из других наших играх. Так, давайте сделаем скин с клаудом, ну 7 часть одна из самых значимых игр за все время, а клауд один из главных символов поколения, давайте ебанём, сработает. А давайте еще лару крофт сделаем, ну она очень известная в "определённых кругах", тоже сработает, делайте... ". Кому вообще в голову пришло сделать ограничение по времени на всю игру? Меня это очень раздражало. Этот счётчик времени и сколько осталось дней до конца игры постоянно сдавливает игрока, постоянный страх, что часы могут улететь в трубу из за того, что неправильно рассчитал время. Что с миром? Да, игроки просили наконец выпустить их с тонкой кишки на хотя бы подобие открытого пространства, но не в такой пустой неинтересный открытый мир. Тебя постоянно просят непонятно что в квестах, и надо искать непонятно где, и тут проблема не в том, что неизвестно где что искать, а в том, что надо исследовать это блевотное пространство. Сюжет тоже особо не зацепил, опять дружба спасёт весь мир, ребята, не унываем, нам вроде пизда, но ща все соберёмся, ща спасёмся, круто будет, во 👍. К этому всему добавляем кривой порт, который лагает на современном железе, и тупым интерфейсом (я про верхнюю строку настроек на главном меню). Ну, зато интересно сделали ведение боёв, прикольно.

500時間～、トロコン済み、HARDモードで裏ボス含めクリア済み

結論から言うと賛否両論になる作品です（13シリーズ全体を通してそうですが）。
おすすめ◎→戦闘・やりこみ好きな方
おすすめ ×→寄り道（サブクエ）やミニゲームが嫌いな方、周回が嫌いな方

本作は前作13-2の続編になりますが、メインクエストのボリュームは非常に少なくなっています。
その一方でサブクエストがおよそ150ほどもあり、これらをコツコツこなすことでライトニングのステータスが少しずつ上がるシステムであるため、上述のとおりサブクエ進行が苦手な方はストレスに感じると思います。FF7リメイク1作目かよ・・・
（※サブクエはすべてクリアする必要はありません。）

敵からは経験値ではなくサブクエ完了に必要な素材のほか、「低確率」で魔法等のアビリティが得られます。
ここからが本作で最もストレスに感じた部分なのですが、敵には「絶滅」の概念があり、一定数倒すとそれ以降はエンカウントできなくなります。
つまり「低確率」のドロップアイテムを敵が「絶滅」するまでに多く得るため、バトル→ゲームリセット→再バトル（リセマラ）を強いられる仕様です。
当方プレイ時間は500時間を超えていますが、この大部分をこのリセマラが占めています（周回含む）。
当然その先には努力に見合った強力なアビリティが待っているので非常にやりこみ甲斐があるゲームではあると思います。エレメラ強すぎる・・・。

本作で最もおすすめしたいのは何と言ってもバトルシステムです。
前作までと異なりライトニング一人である代わりに、3種類のウェア（スタイル）をチェンジしながら戦います。
ウェア毎に最大4つのアビリティを装備できたり、ウェアごとにオートアビリティが異なったりと編成の自由度が高くとても楽しくバトルできました。
また、新たに「ガード」「ジャストガード」や「回避」といったアクション要素も追加されてポチポチゲーから脱出したのも個人的には良かったです。
基本的には敵をノックダウン（＝ブレイク）させてから火力を出すという13シリーズの基盤は維持されているため、一見全く異なるようで根底にあるバトルシステムは同じです。
このシステムは今後のFF作品でリブートしてもいいのでは・・・？あまりに勿体ない。

とりあえず13-2のエンディングを見て止まっている方は一度メインストーリーだけでもプレイしてみてはいかがでしょうか（安くなっていますしすぐ終わるので）。

神のしもべには門限があるのだ。開いてる時間と開いてない時間のゲートもあるぞ。
攻略見ないと走り回ってるだけのゲームになるぞ。

ライトニングさんは戦闘で成長しない代わりに、おつかいでパワーアップしていくのだ。
やりたい？これ好きなキャラじゃないと俺はできないね。

そして、ゲーム中パッドが認識しなくなることがあるからCopilot君に聞いてみたところ
「Steam版LRは“フォーカスが外れるとパッドを切る”癖がある」
「Steam Inputが有効だと
• パッドが「仮想デバイス」に変換される
• LRがそれを“別のコントローラ”と誤認
• ゲーム中に突然切り替わって入力が死ぬ」

FF13シリーズのバトルの面白さは健在
あのバトルシステムが好きだった人は合うと思います
素早くウェア（FF13のオプティマみたいな感じ）を切り替えるバトルシステムです
ジャストガードが採用されているので若干のアクション要素あり

難易度は高めですが周回して強くなるシステム＆ストーリーなので1周目はイージー推奨、慣れたら2周目ハードでやりましょう

ゲームシステム自体が時間に追われる仕組みですが、焦らずこの崩壊する世界を楽しみましょう！サブクエが主人公の成長なのでゆっくりじっくり会話を楽しんでプレイすることをお勧めします（1周目で無理してクリアする必要ないです）

How the hell does one talk about Lightning Returns?

It's the finale of a trilogy of games that divided its core fanbase, and it itself divided the FFXIII fanbase.

In some ways it is a disappointing finale to the FFXIII trilogy. It fails to pay off multiple plotlines from the previous games, character assassinates Vanille in particular, and ditches the previous games' core systems.

It's also a really fun game with deep and satisfying action combat, great build possibilities and a story that can still hit incredible notes if you are a fan of the previous games.

Me personally? I love this game about as much as the original FFXIII. Like that game, Lightning Returns takes a lot of risks that make it an experience like no other, and while not all the risks pay off, those that do are enough to make me say that, yeah, I love this game a whole lot.

1〜3まで一気にやりましたが、なんだかんだ楽しめました。キャラがいい。カイアスが1番好きです。
戦闘は仲間と一緒に戦いたい派なのでこの作品よりは1,2の方が個人的には好きでした。

ストーリーに関して、1,2で広げたものをこの作品で締める構図になるのですが、締め方がちょっと強引か…？みんな幸せなら…OKです‼︎🙆　と思える方には良い締め方かもしれない。
