A good classic point and click style game. The discussions mention a lot of crashes, with the unofficial 1.7 patch and Nathan Bagg's patch I completed the whole game with 1 crash. I played the game in windowed mode and that crash happened by leaving the game idle for 2 sets of dialogue if that is useful.
A fast travel mod would make the game so much better though, getting lost is half the game.

Interesting Fantasy setting with a tragic story. Some of the puzzles in the second half of the game are pretty brutal but between the hints and various walkthroughs, if you get stuck there is plenty of help available. 99% of the game takes place in a single location (Dragonvale Academy) so you'll be running around the same environments quite a bit, but the backgrounds are pretty nice to look at and it really feels like your in a school for Magicians.
Also this game does not autosave and has no checkpoints so SAVE OFTEN. If the game crashes you'll lose unsaved progress.

Jest to jeden z tych point&clicków, w których z jednej strony bohaterka ciągle zwraca uwagę na najoczywistsze rzeczy najbardziej nienaturalnym tonem głosu, a z drugiej gra nie daje żadnych faktycznych wskazówek, co powinniśmy zrobić dalej, więc po zrobieniu czegokolwiek należy po prostu biegać po całej mapie w nadziei, że w którejś lokalizacji zostanie striggerowany jakiś dialog, lub coś - bez wyraźnego powodu - się zmieniło. Historia jest prosta i nieciekawa. O ile otoczenia są naprawdę ładne, o tyle poruszanie się po nich jest irytujące przez fixed camera angles. Postacie są cholernie brzydkie, voice acting jest chyba najbardziej sztucznym, jaki kiedykolwiek słyszałam. Nawet jeśli "aktorzy" dostawali linijki tekstu z zerowym kontekstem, to wciąż nie wyjaśnia, dlaczego prozodia wielu zdań jest tak dziwaczna. Niestety byłam dodatkowo zmuszona do grania z polskim tłumaczeniem, które również jest na bardzo niskim poziomie.

Играла в эту игру в детстве! Затем перепроходила пару лет назад и сегодня, узнав что эта игра, оказывается, есть в Стиме, была приятно удивлена. Это одна из тех игр, которая вызывает у меня ностальгию и заставляет чувствовать светлую грусть. Даже спустя столько лет игра выглядит прекрасно, за локации вообще отдельный поклон! Озвучка тоже довольно хороша) Нравится даже больше, чем в оригинале. Спасибо за возможность снова пройти этот шедевр.
Can one of the most beautiful graphic adventures also be one of the ugliest? Unfortunately, yes, the game is divided into two parts, one positive and one negative.
The positive part is the game's beautiful graphics and the fascinating story; the negative part is the tragically difficult puzzles (one above all, the one in the astronomical observatory).
And finally, something I didn't remember from the CD version I played many years ago on Windows XP: the numerous crashes, some random, others specific and unavoidable in certain parts of the story, related to certain puzzles. These crashes force the player to use the in-game help to complete the puzzle in order to continue, which is very annoying.
Another small negative is that the dialogues cannot be skipped, even though there is a specific function. If you press the button to skip the dialogue, the game doesn't immediately move on to the next text but forces you to wait several seconds as if the dialogue were continuing anyway.
One last, very small negative note: the lack of fast travel makes moving from one area of the game to another exhausting.
In light of the above, I'm reluctant to give this game a negative rating of 59%, but, in my infinite kindness, I didn't feel like it and decided to turn it into a very low positive rating of 60%. This is simply because I loved this game and its story so much. However, if the mind-bending puzzles are now an integral part of the game, it would at least be nice if the developers would fix the numerous crashes that plague it and make it practically unplayable in some areas.

Back then, we saw games like this differently. They felt common, and it seemed like there would always be more. Now, it feels like a rare gem.
Its atmosphere of pure zen works even better today. It’s like a detective story in an empty Hogwarts where you run through 20 empty, beautiful screens back and forth. And either you fully surrender to it, meditating — or you don't play at all. It’s a great break from TikTok and the pace of modern life.
It’s a shame it never became a well-known classic. But I’m happy it’s still available to buy. And you should buy it too.

Keepsake - это одна из многих игр моего детства нулевых. Знакомство с ней произошло через посредника (мать), еще будучи ребенком, наблюдая за игрой, мир восхищал и удивлял своей загадочностью. Для меня это была самая настоящая сказка. И вот на днях всплыло воспоминание о ней, смутное, едва уловимое, но вслед за этим пришла навязчивая мысль: "Хочу найти и поиграть!". Названия не помнила, но загуглив пару отрывков из памяти - сразу всплыла в поиске.
И теперь перейду к сути, опробовав сие творение осталось лишь приятное впечатление и желание: "Хочу еще подобного!".
Мое детское восприятие не подвело взрослую версию меня.
Красивейшая графика (даже на момент 2025 года), приятная стилистика и утонченное сочетание цветовой гаммы (я и вправду ощутила себя студенткой магической академии).
Куча загадок (иногда приходилось сидеть дольше 15 минут, чтобы поломать голову и найти решение (механизм открытия ворот в верхнюю часть академии меня поставил в тупик)).
Сюжет на середине игры становится более-менее очевиден, но вопрос остается (куда все делись?), плюс помогает всем этим проникнуться бесконечная бродилка (для кого-то минус, но мне очень понравилось, даже если комната используется 1 раз), огромное количество локаций (неописуемой красоты).
Приятные диалоги со своей изюминкой и смешнинкой. Необезличенные персонажи со своей изюминкой. Музыкальное сопровождение - одно из лучших!
В общем, история оставила приятное послевкусие с желанием продолжить данную эпопею. Хотелось бы, чтобы компания продолжила работу и создала нечто подобное (или хотя бы ремейк).
Минусы - да, игра вылетает, были неприятные моменты, когда прошел дофига и больше и тут БАМ - вылет. Но что ж, это проблема всех старых игр. Панацея - сохранение. Да-да, не стоит забывать.
Кому не советую? Хотите динамики - это не для вас (игра все-таки из жанра бродилок). Не любите головоломки? Не для вас. Не любите ванильные сюжеты с простой мыслью? Мимо.
Кому стоит поиграть? Любителям красивых фэнтезийных видов - да. Тем, кто хочется отдохнуть от закрученных сюжетных поворотов - да. Если вы застали 00-е и пробовали Сиберию и прочее, то определенно стоит!

I remember playing this game when I was like 7 or 8. And back then I got stuck in the lower part of the school! Still it's a nostalgia for me.
There is something to remember when many games from childhood begin to come true again. However, in this game I got stuck at the first stage, where I had to pass exams.
In any case, the game is about a sad story, where the main character arrives at a school of magic, where in the end we don't meet anyone… Although in general in the end we'll meet only one surviving idiot, hoping to attract more attention to himself because of frequent mockery of himself. [spoiler]And throughout the story we must solve various puzzles to find out the reason for the desolation of this place, where in the end it turns out that the director of the academy himself abused his powers for the sake of the revival of his daughter Celeste, who is also our friend, for whom we came to this place. For the sake of good old friendship, which was forgotten for many years due to grief in their family.[/spoiler]
The game itself is presented in free movement, interaction with the surrounding world, solving puzzles, and of course with communication between characters. During the playthrough, you always need to run to understand what we need to do at the moment to move forward. In addition, we must collect abandoned things, often accompanied by loss of consciousness and flashbacks. And achievements are essentially only plot-related.
If you like traditional point and click games, this game is for you. It has amazing visuals and unique story telling that I think a lot of people into point-and-click puzzle games would like. The stand-out wolf companion who you meet pretty early-game has interesting interactions with both the MC and the environment and makes this game stand out from some other games in the genre. The "hint" tool as well as some pausing/fast forwarding dialog tools were very useful for this game as well, enhancing interactions with this game and overall enhancing the experience.
However, it comes with its certain downsizes that made this game not-so-much for me:
- Puzzle Design: a lot of the puzzles boiled down to guessing to solve them rather than using any kind of strategy. More than often, there is only one path to take so solve a puzzle, and it really just takes sometimes some random guessing to guess these paths to "solve" the puzzles.
- Dialogue: additionally, the dialog at times felt very cheesy, and makes some very obvious statements to the audience that could have been more covered in nuance (i.e. telling vs showing.)
- (Some Level of) Hint Dependence: often enough, the player had to click the "hint" button in order to find out what to do next. Though the game play progression was linear, it was sometimes unclear that there were certain tasks that were required to do before others as there were no dialog queues nor environmental indicators hinting to do the tasks sequentially. Clicking the hint button, at times for myself, was a must to be able to figure out what to do next to progress.
While the game definitely excels at world-building, aesthetics, and character likability, ultimately it fell a little flat for me with some game interactions to be able to take it to the next level.

Старенький квест 2006 года, я играла в него в детстве.
Плюсы:
* красивая рисовка;
* атмосфера покинутой академии волшебства;
* оригинальные загадки, к которым можно брать подсказки тут же в игре и даже пропустить при нежелании разбираться;
* загадки логичны, прекрасно дополняют атмосферу, вписаны в сюжет;
* карта академии и подсказки, что делать дальше, облегчают игру;
* потрясающая музыка!
* очень хорошая и качественная озвучка;
* достижения берутся легко с первого раза.
Минусы:
* от анимации персонажей и качества изображения ждать многого не стоит;
* в игре есть всего один слот для сохранения, а также есть немало БАГОВ. Сохраняться надо ВСЕГДА, как можно чаще. Особенно, перед каждой загадкой и после каждой загадки. Я, даже зная о проблемах такого рода, один раз вылетела, и пришлось идти издалека. Стандартно вылетает на двух загадках - с мостами-переходами и лестницами в корабле-бутылке. У меня была еще пара вылетов, надо быть готовыми, и чаще сохраняться.
* нет кнопки, чтобы подсветить активные области, из-за чего периодически нет-нет да и пропустишь переход в другую комнату в темном углу или мелкую область, с которой надо взаимодействовать. Окупается функцией подсказок по игре.
* нет быстрых переходов между локациями. Периодически придется бежать на другой конец замка, но атмосферы это только прибавляет.)
Рекомендую любителям старых квестов, а также тем, кто хочет погрузиться в сюжет и атмосферу этой истории.
Великолепная игра, великолепная история. Недостатки присутствуют, но на них можно спокойно закрыть глаза. Если вы любите квесты с хорошим сюжетом, то эта игра вам обязательна к прохождению. Давно меня так не пробирал сюжет

Приятное приключение в красивом месте, построенное вокруг тайны и с не очевидным финалом. Дарит разные оттенки переживаний: эстетический восторг, радость и печаль, надежду и безысходность.

- Интересная интригующая история, не лишенная ни юмора, ни драматизма.
- Красивая картинка и характерный дизайн погружают в очень особенный волшебный мир.
- Запоминающиеся герои, которые по ходу истории меняют свои взгляды и развиваются в лучшую сторону.
- Некоторые головоломки сделаны хорошо и было интересно напрягаться, чтобы решить их.
- Отдельно эта игра радует как пример удачного и экономного распределения сил разработчиков: в игре про огромную величественную школу мало персонажей, но при этом это нарративно обосновано. В итоге, творцам не пришлось тратить силы на то, чтобы прорабатывать сотни характеров, и при этом это не выглядит как халтура.
- Приятная музыка.

- Смущают головоломки в духе "подбери пятизначный ключ от сейфа", лишенные подсказок. Их точно нельзя отнести к разряду занимательных.
- Очень жаль, что к переизданию не удалось приурочить улучшение внутриигровых технологий: волк, который ходит по лестнице, наклонив тело под углом 45град - сейчас на это не взглянешь без слез..
- Для переиздания не были перендерены задники и заставки, которые хорошо смотрелись на старозаветных мониторах-коробках, но сейчас выглядят довольно размыто.
I played this game back when it came out when I was a kid and searched for a long time to find it again. I was so happy to see that it was on steam. It was a great memory being able to play this great game after so long. A fun point and click fantasy puzzle game, some of the puzzles are a little hard to figure out but the story and environment make up for it.
I assume it might be the only game with 10/10 story while literally other aspects could be briefly described with honest word of "S*H*I*T". The crash at the ending scenery won't let me to complete the achievements. It was a chore to finish it since my father gifted me this game when i was 8. At that age i wasn't smart enough to realize what the ♥♥♥♥ is this game about and what am i supposed to do.

Keepsake feels like a game made with a lot of love and passion but not the most game dev or technical experience. The first obvious example of this is probably from the audio balancing, where by default some music tracks will drown out dialogue while they're playing. The game has separate sliders for dialogue, sound effects, and music, so this is an easily solvable issue.
It operates as a fairly traditional 2D point and click game with more of a focus on puzzles and less on item hunting, though it has both. I found some of the puzzles tricky to figure out the mechanics of (I'll get into why later), but there's a progressive hint system that can be rather helpful in explaining mechanics. It won't tell you how to do it, but the explanations tend to be useful. It will also tell you if the puzzle you're interacting with is something you need to find an item before it can be solved; which I'm thankful for. Item hunting can sometimes require clicking on less than obvious objects, but I think most items you need are made obvious by position.
The castle you're pointing and clicking in is massive, looping, and interconnected. If I had to guess, I'd say that the devs created an enormous 3D model of the fantasy castle and then rendered images of it for every area you walk through. This has resulted in a seamless world layout where you can guess the location of things relative to others in physical space. Unfortunately this also means that 1/2 to 2/3 of the screens you see serve little purpose beyond walking through or connecting multiple pathways. There's a lot of walking and remembering pathways while backtracking, but there's also unlockable shortcuts (think Dark Souls' ladders or one-way openable doors) to help speed things up. On the plus side this approach results in a very pretty game for 2006, even if it is locked to 1024x768 resolution due to the 2D nature of the game.
The graphics are, as said before, pre-rendered 3D, but an extra trick they use extensively is making portions of the screen animate by playing videos over them. This approach is generally seamless, though I have encountered a bug where the videos all end up offset and leaving obvious seams, which was fixed by restarting the game. On the plus side this allows for visual effects that would've been impossible on systems of the era, especially the water physics on fountains, rivers, or waterfalls. The video animations are used throughout the game and are unskippable. Most puzzle interactions play these video animations and they slow down puzzle solving rather significantly. If you know how to solve a puzzle it's not a big deal to watch them, but if you're experimenting to learn how they work it can take a long time (especially when it kicks you back from the interaction screen to watch an animation in the area). While most of the game is 2D, there's a handful of 3D character models that, while nice, have definitely aged when they are close to the camera. The character animations are cute, but feel a bit stiff and sometimes feel too small for how far away the character is. There's also no AA, so the edges of characters are a bit rough next to the smooth backgrounds. Overall the graphics are gorgeous and a highlight of the experience. I played in windowed mode so the low resolution resulted in a small box, but meant that everything looked crisp and clear.
While I find the audio sliders need to be adjusted, overall the game will play some ambient sounds but often have a stillness to the castle, very fitting for the story and setting. You'll hear wind noise when you're in a tower, or louder wind noise when you're outside of it. The sounds make sense for the area and are generally pleasant scene-setting, not required for the puzzles. Some areas make music play, it's soft fantasy music and fits the environments while smoothly crossfading in and out. Unfortunately some tracks play much louder than others. The environments may be still, but the characters are not. Everyone is very chatty and has a lot of dialogue. There aren't a lot of characters (explained by the story), but each one has distinct voice acting and I think they were quite passion as well (Though they didn't seem to be professional voice actors.). The game is fully subtitled and you can read at your own pace. One cute touch is that if you don't take any action for a short while, the main character and her sidekick will start chatting. I don't know how many entries there are for this feature, but I kept encountering new ones throughout the game, providing more character backstory and lore.
Speaking of story, your actions throughout are driven both by your characters' motivations and the events taking place in the castle, and seem reasonable in context, this isn't the type of adventure game where you cause harm to others to achieve your goals. There are also no failure states or time limits, so it's a relaxing experience to play. The characters have a fair bit of depth to their personalities and backgrounds, with growth being demonstrated throughout. I feel the writing could be improved by an editor, but it never felt phoned in.
I encountered several crashes as I played, so I'd recommend making regular saves. The game maintains a list of the past 10 saves made so you don't have to worry about rotating them manually. The only non-audio option is for brightness, for a 2D game from 2006 these options seem quite reasonable. Performance was extremely smooth throughout. The tutorial is basic and I would've appreciated tooltips on buttons.
tl;dr: In the end Keepsake truly feels like a passion project, sometimes to its detriment. There's no aspect where it's lazy, just a lot of little areas that could've used more polish.

можно отметить пару минусов
- во время квеста по выращиванию цветов приходится много бегать туда-сюда на дальние расстояния, было бы здорово менять климат непосредственно на месте
- в двух местах игра может вылететь - это квест с лестницами-мостами и квест на корабле в бутылке. приложение крашит, если сделать несколько неверных ходов, поэтому лучше сохраниться перед выполнением этих заданий
но в целом игра снова доставила мне много разных эмоций, и я рад, что она появилась спустя долгое время в Стиме, да ещё и за такую низкую цену.

Technical side is taken care, you have window mode by default, no need to run DXwnd or other brilliant window makers. And it actually voiced too! How did it do in old days I wonder?
There are some lack of design principals that may get uncomfortable due to lack of them or the way they are done, but it was a time of discovering and experimenting so I wouldn't much complain about this part, I do expect this from modern games which for some reason still fail to implement already tested game mechanics 100 times over and over in this genre.

A Beautiful game with a fantastic ambience, the music lulls you into a unique atmosphere.
The riddles are nice, not too difficult and not to hard, even though I did get stuck in a few points.
The static camera makes you go back in time, when you add it to an empty castle and a mystery you get and interesting blend of slightly creepy and relaxing.
It's a casual game with a nice story and some puzzles, awesome to play when you want to relax.
The graphics are quite old but you get over it fast when you settle into the ambience and story.
Loved it. Keepsake made me get into video games when I was a kid.
I'm not sure which was worse, the navigation mechanic, or the puzzles (or perhaps the game-breaking bug that forced me to thrice-restart after hours of play each time), but I do know that calling them 'puzzles' is an insult to actual puzzles. Most are nothing more than guessing games, and the rest failed to be interesting.
Also, the voice acting is grating, and the story isn't good enough to overcome the game's many weaknesses, so do what I wish I had done and find something better to play.

MINUSY:
- Brak ciekawych postaci, a więc i brak ciekawych dialogów(w zasadzie do momentu w którym przestałem grać były ledwo jakiekolwiek postacie)
- Brak możliwości używania zdobytych przedmiotów, wszystkie interakcje dzieją się automatycznie, co jest dość dziwne w grze point'n'click
- Z pozoru ciekawa lokacja (w końcu to szkoła magii) uderza w nas niezwykłymi pustkami i nudą dookoła
- Zagadki trudne i skomplikowane jak cholera (gdyby nie możliwość ich pomijania to pewnie jeszcze mniej czasu spędziłbym przy tej grze, a dodam, że wiele gier tego typu mam ogranych i nie zwykłem pomijać w nich zagadek)
- Dotarcie z punktu A do punktu B (a i często trzeba potem od razu dotrzeć z punktu B do A) zajmuje w cholerę czasu, także backtracking jest tutaj częstym i monotonnym zjawiskiem
- Nieintuicyjna mapa, która raczej średnio pomaga w przemierzaniu akademii
Z przykrością stwierdzam, że jest to najgorsza gra z gatunku point'n'click w jaką grałem (i zarazem jedyna póki co, która mi się nie podobała). Nie chodzi o to, że gra się zestarzała, bo przypomnę, że istnieje takie cudo jak The Longest Journey z 1999 roku, które wciąga jak odkurzacz. Keepsake po prostu nie zatrzymuje gracza przed monitorem żadnym aspektem - ani fabułą, ani postaciami, ani lokacjami, ani gameplayem. Stanowczo odradzam granie, jeśli nie jest się osobą z ponadprzeciętną cierpliwością.
Пожалуй лучший квест в который я играла. Все действия логичны, нет бреда с тыканьем предметов на другие предметы в попытке получить результат. Есть внутриигровые подсказки и, если что-то не ясно, не нужно отвлекаться от игры. Понравился сюжет игры и диалоги персонажей.
Если вы хотите поиграть в какой-нибудь старый квест, то однозначно советую.
Хочу заметить, что игра может плохо жить в двух моментах: при переправе по лестнице в комнате экзамена на мудрость и при загадке в бутылке. В руководствах есть решение для этой проблемы, но можно просто загружаться после каждого раза как что-то сделал.
Дорогие ребята, разработчики, издатель и тд и тп, спустя почти 20 лет, как вышла игра, и несколько лет, как она появилась в стиме, за это время можно было хотя бы немного потрудиться и сделать оптимизацию под современные системы, потому что это кромешный ужас каждый раз при заходе в игру со стимовской версии видеть вечно всплывающие окна об ошибках! И я не смолчу о том, что игра вылетела у меня спустя более трех с половиной часов прохождения, не сделав автосохранения с последней точки, это просто возмутительно! Версия на пиратском диске примерно тех же годов выпуска, когда вышла игра, репаки, и то были более стабильные, чем мои нервы после слома игры на ровном месте. Почему игра Вангеры / Vangers в наши дни получила и оптимизацию, и версию на надроид, а вы, господа из Wicked Studios, не соизволили даже пальцем пошевелить, чтобы квест моего детства работал хотя бы более исправно? Моему возмущению нет предела, а боли и пыла в заднем монокле не унять после такого предательства!

La mia grande colpa nell'aver acquistato Keepsake, è stata quella di fidarmi di brevi recensioni di chi paragonava il suddetto titolo ad un altro cult del genere punta e clicca, e sto parlando di Syberia.
Se il lavoro di Sokal sulle avventure di Kate Walker, si può tranquillamente paragonare ad un AG vecchia maniera con qualche rompicapo di contorno, Keepsake va a esplorare un'altro sottobosco di questo genere tanto amato.E sto parlando delle avventure alla Myst. Quel concentrato di atmosfera, esplorazione ed enigmi cervellotici, basati su marchingegni e leve da attivare.
Piccoli accenni di trama: Lydia, una giovane ragazzina, va a trovare la sua amica che studia magia presso quello che sembra un castello incantato molto Hogwarts style. Se L'atmosfera(azzeccatissima), il doppiaggio e il comparto grafico sono al passo coi tempi (parliamo del 2006), il grosso problema è proprio il gameplay e gli enigmi.
Perchè chi legge 'gioco simil Syberia' pensa subito ai classici enigmi, prendi oggetto, usalo, combina, e via dicendo. Qui ci troviamo dinanzi ad un titolo basato su veri rompicapo dove il 90% è spremersi le celluline grige per riuscire ad avanzare.
Una varietà di questi ultimi molto discutibile. Se nella prima parte di gioco sembra ci sia una qualche diversificazione, tutta la seconda zona è un susseguirsi dei puzzle precedenti ripetuti, e aumentati di difficoltà.
Altro difetto è che il gioco sembra darti una libertà di approccio verso questi puzzle, facendoti fare come vuoi. in questo caso la risposta è NO, perchè capiterà spesso che leva X non può essere attivata fin quando non si risolve o si fa una determinata azione, anche il solo raccogliere un determinato documento poco visibile sul pavimento.
Mettiamoci inoltre che il gioco su w10 ha qualche crash che avviene in determinate zone, tipo l enigma delle scale l'ho dovuto ricaricare una decina di volte.
This is one of those games that gets extremely overlooked. The story is so beautiful and the story telling is perfect. The puzzles are tricky, but if you are there for the story, there is an option where you can skip past the puzzles. I have played a lot of point and click games, but this is one that has stuck with me for years because of how nice the story is. If you love classic point and click games, please give this one a try. :3

Хороший квест для своего времени. Но некоторые загадки и ходьба по замку туда-сюда душновата. Но слава богу есть знак вопросика,с помощью которого ты можешь отдуплить куда тебе идти или решит душнейшую головоломку за тебя, без необходимости идти в гайд на просторах интернета.

Hachja, Keepsake. Ein weiteres Spiel aus meiner Kindheit - damals noch auf der Computerbild-Spiele 07/07 entdeckt und sofort ins Herz geschlossen.
+ Die Grafik ist auch für heutige Verhältnisse sehr schön anzusehen. Die Akademie ist mächtig, Der Wald ist schön. Das Wasser rauscht auch schön durch und an jeder Ecke sieht man ein bisschen was animiertes. Achja, die Schatten sehen auch noch ganz okay aus.
+ Die musikalische Untermalung ist auch sehr gelungen, auch wenn es nicht soooooo viele verschiedene Songs sind.
+ Das Spiel hat nicht nur einen fast schon einzigartigen Charme, sondern stellenweise auch einen tollen Humor. Hervorzuheben wären hier zum Beispiel "die Wächter" oder das Zusammenspiel zwischen Lydia und Zak an vielen Stellen.
+ Ich habe die Idle-Gespräche zwischen Lydia und Zak wirklich sehr genossen. Man erfährt durch sie auch noch ein paar Hintergründe zu den Geschehnissen, zu den Charakteren und zur Akademie. Ich empfand es nur als schade, dass diese Dialoge nur passieren, wenn man stehen bleibt und mehrere Minuten wartet, anstatt mit diesen Dialogen die Downtime des gesamtes Rumgelaufes zu füllen.
+ Den krassen Plottwist zum Ende hin möchte ich hervorheben, der ist wirklich gut gesetzt und hat mich zugegebenermaßen ein wenig aus der Fassung gebracht. Aber was die Story im Allgemeinen angeht... nunja....
- ... sie ist sehr zäh. Genauer: Das Pacing des Spiels ist sehr sehr langsam. Dabei wäre es überhaupt kein Problem gewesen, das eine oder andere Rätsel oder die eine oder andere Dialogoption aus dem Spiel zu streichen, damit es ENDLICH vorangeht!
- Das Level Design ist meiner Meinung nach manchmal etwas verwirrend. Auch die Karte hilft da nur bedingt. Deswegen bin ich folgender Meinung:
- Es fehlt zu 100% eine Schnellreise-Funktion. 80% der Spielzeit watschelt man von A nach B. Schlimm wird's, wenn dich das Spiel aufgrund eines Plotpoints teleportiert und nun stehst du ohne erfindlichen Grund weiter von deinem Ziel weg als vorher. Gerade im letzten Drittel des Spiels passiert das öfter... und wo wir schon vom letzten Drittel sprechen...
- Sobald man "oben angekommen" ist (ich nenne es mal so, um Spoiler zu vermeiden), wird das Spiel einfach nur noch nervig aufgrund der Rätselflut, für deren Lösungsansätze man teilweise 5 Minuten Fußweg bewältigen muss, um annähernd zu verstehen, was das Rätsel nun von einem will. Stichwort: "Bibliothek"
- Die Rätsel sind natürlich eines der Herzstücke eines Point & Click Adventure Games. In Keepsake reichen die Rätsel von "Bekommt jeder hin" bis "WIE SOLL MAN DARAUF KOMMEN?!". Leider überwiegen hier eher die frustrierenden und verwirrenden Rätsel enorm.
- Meiner Meinung nach wird aus den Charakteren leider nicht viel gemacht. Fast alle Charaktere trifft man, erledigt einen Dialogbaum oder eine Quest und man sieht sie nie wieder.
- Viele der Animationen (vor allem beim Baum und bei einigen Rätseln) sind einfach zu langsam. Man stelle sich ein Rätsel vor, bei dem nach jedem Mausklick eine 10sek Animation laufen muss, bevor man erneut klicken darf. Das hat mir so einige Rätsel kaputt gemacht.
+/- Es gibt keine Möglichkeit, den momentanen Playthrough auf einem separaten Speicherslot zu speichern. Bedeutet also, dass man keine Backup-Saves erstellen kann. Das wird aber eigentlich erst zum Problem, wenn des Rätsels Lösung in einem Raum ist, wo man erst nochmal 10 Minuten hinbocken muss. Screenshots helfen hier aus!
+/- Ich hatte leider 2-3 Crashes (einer davon direkt nach den Credits). Deswegen immer mal wieder speichern!
+/- Die deutsche Sprachausgabe ist okay, nicht mehr, nicht weniger.
+/- Es gibt eine Hinweis-Funktion, die einem ein Rätsel auch lösen kann (mit Ausnahme des allerletzten Rätsels, was aber gleichzeitig auch das leichteste Rätsel ist)
+/- Man kann weder sterben, noch game over gehen
+/- Steam Achievements (alle ausnahmslos freischaltbar, indem man das Spiel ganz normal durchspielt)
+/- Steam Overlay
Nachdem ich es jetzt in einer Sitzung am Stück durchspielte, muss ich leider zugeben, dass ich das Spiel besser in Erinnerung hatte. Ich erinnerte mich vorher an EINIGE frustrierende Stellen, aber dass es so viele waren, hatte ich nicht mehr im Kopf. Das ganze Gelaufe, die kleinen Objekte, die einfach irgendwo in der Akademie erscheinen, die nervigen Rätsel, das langsame Pacing der Story... das alles sorgt dafür, dass man ab 50% des Spiels nur noch zum Ende will. Ich habe mich gerade "ganz oben" immer wieder dabei erwischt, wie ich viele der Rätsel am überspringen war - und das nicht, weil diese zu fordernd waren, sondern weil ich keine Lust hatte, für die Lösung nochmal über den ganzen Campus zu latschen oder mir 15 Minuten Animationen anzeigen zu lassen.
Unterm Strich ist Keepsake ein schönes, aber träges und frustrierendes Abenteuer, Für den Preis von unter einem Euro kann man nicht meckern!

PS: Jaaaaaaaaa, ich weiß, dass das ein Spiel ist, in dessen Ära sowas wie "Schnellreisen" oder überspringbare Zwischensequenzen (oder Animationen) noch kein großes Thema in P&C-Adventure Games war.
PPS: Ich hätte mir wirklich am Ende gewünscht, dass man wenigstens mal etwas von der "vollen" Akademie sieht, also nachdem alle Studenten und Lehrer wieder anwesend sind oder wenigstens, wie Lydia nun begrüßt wird (nachdem ihre Erstankunft ja nicht so gut verlaufen ist...)
Keepsake est un point & click de type "puzzle aventure" - comprenez un jeu à la Myst, où vous allez devoir résoudre des énigmes et des puzzles pour avancer plus que d'interagir avec des personnages ou de ramasser et combiner des objets.
Avant toute chose, il faut savoir où on met les pieds : réalisé il y a presque 20 ans par une petite équipe, Keepsake accuse son âge. Les environnements sont plein de charme, mais tous les modèles 3D sont bancals, les animations perfectibles (et surtout impossibles à abréger, ce qui avec l'absence de voyage rapide rend la résolution de certains puzzles très laborieuse !). La compatibilité avec les systèmes modernes n'est pas parfaite, le jeu plante régulièrement sans prévenir (pensez à sauvegarder souvent !), mais ça ne vous empêchera pas d'en voir le bout (même dans les 2-3 zones où les crashs sont omniprésents, il "suffit" de ne pas tâtonner aveuglément).
Ceci étant évacué, Keepsake reste une bonne pioche pour tout amateur de puzzle aventure, et ce tout particulièrement à son prix cassé. Déjà, les énigmes sont intéressantes et plutôt corsées. On peut même dire qu'il y a un côté old-school dans la difficulté de certains puzzles, parfois exacerbé par des traductions imparfaites, notamment dans la seconde moitié du jeu : ne vous retenez pas de consulter les indices intégrés voire une walkthrough bien ficelée qui vous permettront de vous rapprocher suffisamment de la solution pour la trouver vous-même, c'est tellement gratifiant, et ça serait dommage d'abandonner le jeu en cours de route pour ne pas avoir voulu un petit coup de pouce.
Ensuite j'ai beaucoup aimé le level design complètement abracadabrantesque et donc totalement adapté de cette école de magie (savoir s'y repérer est un puzzle en soi, en fait), avec, je me répète, des décors et une atmosphère pleins de charme, renforcés par une bande son bien adaptée à l'ambiance. J'ai trouvé l'histoire dans l'ensemble assez prévisible et parfois un peu gnangnan, mais j'ai quand même bien aimé la relation entre nos deux personnages principaux, notamment grâce au doublage intégral en français, même si j'admets avoir abrégé la plupart des dialogues - ce qui ne sert à rien, vu qu'on ne peut pas couper les animations, mais bon...
Bon voilà, dans l'ensemble oui, je recommanderais ce jeu aux amateurs de puzzle-aventure à l'ancienne, qui n'ont pas peur d'énigmes corsées, de graphismes vieillots et de déplacements laborieux. Si ces défauts ne vous rebutent pas, vous devriez passer un très bon moment à vous creuser la cervelle dans un décor enchanteur.

Unser erster Schultag in der Akademie (irgendwas mit Drachen) fängt ja gut an. Wir kommen an und keiner ist da; das gesamte Gebäude, so wie wir denn überhaupt reinkommen, ist leer. Im Wald finden wir wenigstens einen freundlichen Händler, der ebenfalls etwas verwirrt über das Verschwinden der Anderen ist. Also knobeln wir uns hier durch Rätsel, zeigen und klicken uns durch verschiedene Bilder. Richtig geraten, es ist ein Point & Click Adventure, welches uns in 3D-Grafik schöne Renderlandschaften zeigt. Wir laufen durch verschiedene Bilder, gelegentlich wechselt dann die Perspektive und wir machen das, was man in Adventures halt so macht. Die Vertonung ist komplett deutsch und gut eingesprochen, auch sonst gefällt die Musik- und Sounduntermalung. Die Geschichte macht uns ebenfalls neugierig und treibt uns an, die knackigen Rätsel zu lösen. Was mich hier etwas gestört hat, sind die Perspektivenwechsel und die darauffolgende Orientierungslosigkeit meinerseits. Das passiert mir manchmal zu abrupt und man fragt sich dann, wollte ich jetzt eigentlich nach rechts oder links gehen. Abgesehen davon, ein schönes, klassisches Adventure.

le scénario est captivant est bien monté. On peut regretter que le compagnon loup ou chat soit en déplacement saccadé. L'intrigue est bonne et les actions des épreuves un peu difficiles.

Trama: Lydia sta per diventare ufficialmente una studentessa dell'accademia di magia di Dragonvale.
Una volta arrivata a scuola cercherà subito la sua amica Celeste... Peccato però che l'istituto è completamente deserto!
Ancora oggi sia la storia e sia gli enigmi presente nel gioco mi hanno tenuta incollata allo schermo fino alla fine. Purtroppo ci sono dei piccoli bug fastidiosi che a volte fanno crashare il gioco :(
Very cute story-driven game with engaging puzzles and a lovely art style. Definitely worth it for the price. Loved this game as a kid and still find it enjoyable as an adult.
Non si tratta di un titolo che mi induca a scegliere il pollice verso l’alto senza esitare, tuttavia sono altresì restio a propendere per quello rosso puntato verso il basso. Diciamo che, in questo caso, riesco a vedere il bicchiere mezzo pieno.
Cosa ho apprezzato? Indubbiamente la grafica (non sublime, ma piacevole), le ambientazioni molto ben realizzate e diversificate nelle varie parti dell’accademia, le voci italiane (molto buona la scelta dei doppiatori), la trama che già ai primi flashback lascia intendere un finale non banale, la difficoltà di molti rompicapi che vi obbligheranno a spremervi le meningi per bene, il fatto che esistano le soluzioni agli enigmi (e quindi non si rischia di restare bloccati per sempre) e il costo pressoché irrisorio. Per tutte queste caratteristiche, consiglio sicuramente l’acquisto. Se anche poi doveste non concordare con alcune delle cose che ho elencato, la cifra alla quale è disponibile al momento (pressoché irrisoria; è quasi regalato) non dovrebbe indurre nessuno alla disperazione per aver pagato eccessivamente una mezza ciofeca. E, ripeto, non è questo il caso… almeno secondo me.
Cosa non mi ha convinto? L’ambiente è molto vasto (e ciò ha senso, considerando dove si stia svolgendo la storia), ma ciò obbliga il giocatore a percorrere schermate e schermate per spostarsi da un ambiente all'altro; sarà necessaria tantissima pazienza! E ve ne servirà ancora di più se pensate che in certi luoghi occorre passare più e più volte al fine di abilitare dialoghi o situazioni che vi permetteranno di avanzare. Purtroppo non è un gioco che ti invoglia facilmente a ritentarlo dopo averlo concluso. Lo terminai diversi anni fa e l’ho riacquistato di recente principalmente per il bassissimo costo e per ragioni sentimentali. Per fortuna me lo ricordavo piuttosto bene e quindi l'ho concluso abbastanza in fretta, ma sapevo già che rifarlo per ottenere gli obiettivi sbloccabili mi avrebbe pesato… cosa che non ho neppure conseguito perché un bug mi impedisce di ottenere l’ultimo! Dovrei provare ad avviare una nuova partita e vedere se, ricominciando da capo, avrò più fortuna (magari così la cosa si risolve), ma al momento non ne ho né la forza né la voglia!
In conclusione, se siete giocatori perseveranti e amate terminare tutto quello che iniziate, allora potete tranquillamente permettervi di spendere due monete e dargli una possibilità. Ci sono molte cose positive da valorizzare, ma occorrerà tanta pazienza.

ABER: Ich habe gerade 4 Stunden gespielt und dann ist es abgestürzt. Mein ganzer Spielfortschritt ist weg, weil nichts zwischengespeichert wurde.

I love this game and have always loved this game since I was a kid, but it runs like crap on Steam. Had to save scum constantly because of how often the game would crash. A couple puzzles glitched out, I had to use the hint function to "solve" it because putting in the correct solution didn't register.
It's an old game and I don't expect perfect performance, but it borders on unplayable for some parts of the game. If you're going to try playing it anyway, just be prepared to save a lot and have to do some things over.
The best puzzle game from my childhood with a dark storyline.
Одна из моих самых любимых игр детства. В ней продумано все до мелочей: загадки всегда уместны, логичны и доступны для понимания. Если же возникают сложности в их решении, можно воспользоваться подсказками, которые в буквальном смысле решают головоломку за вас.
Сюжет игры прост, но в то же время способен вызвать искренние эмоции. Он подается таким образом, что игрок не теряет интерес на протяжении всего процесса.
Атмосфера игры и музыкальное сопровождение, заслуживают отдельного внимания. Музыка сопровождает игрока практически на протяжении всего игрового процесса. Для каждой важной сцены и персонажа она уникальна, никогда не является навязчивой или неуместной.
Игра однозначно стоит вашего внимания.

It's an old game and it shows.
Also it's not what people would think of as a "point and click adventure" but more of an 3rd person Myst. Great puzzles, slow gameplay, unbeatable price still.
The later becomes a bit of a problem, because often times you already can interact with a puzzle or its component and even see something happening, but you are unable to solve it and the only way to know is using the hint function to get told that you are still missing something. Frustrating if you want to play without it.
The puzzles itself are good and brainteasing. The goal is often clear, but the mechanics can be confusing to figure out. Again spotlight on the hint function: the first hint will tell you what to do, the second will explain the mechanics, the third will give you directions to start from until finally you can choose to skip it all together.
The skip is a godsent. Why?
Because the pacing of the game is nothing short of glacial. Lots of filler screens to walk through, slow dialog, slow unskippable animations. Slow unskippable animations within a dialogue. Oh you thought skipping the line will make it faster, nope, you will have to watch that shoulder shrug in its entirety before the next line will happen.
Worst of all is that some puzzles do require you to walk around or take so many steps with an animation in between, that it just drags out and turns a 1 minute tease into a 5 minute chore.
The artstyle is great. The environment is often epic and stunning and gets the feeling of a magical castle-like school across greatly. I wonder where the inspiration might have come from. ;) On the other hand there are entirely too many corridors, bridges and stairs to slog through and especially the upper are is fairly confusing to navigate with its teleporter pathes.
The character animations are stiff and remind you of the game's age just as the blurry video-inserts for puzzle-animations an other cutscenes. The children's faces in the flashback scenes are nightmare stuff.
Story and writting are also suffering pacing issues. Too many dialogues interpersed in the walking, that make you hate your companion, the overarching story is fairly boring, doesn't really go anywhere for a long time and wants you to care about characters you as a player have no connection to.
I wouldn't normally recommend it as there are way better games out now. But the price is simply too good to pass on it if you like your puzzle games. And after all, the game is old, not bad. You can certainly find way worse for more money.
Lydia's first day in wizard school isn't exactly going as she imagined. Instead of a warm meeting with her childhood friend after many years of separation, she is welcomed by silence. The gates are closed shut and even after successfully opening them the school grounds are vacant. The only living soul she finds is a talking wolf who is supposedly a turned dragon! With him by her side, she has to navigate through abandoned halls, overcome many obstacles to become a full-fledged wizard and hopefully find her friend. And also ultimately find the answer to what has happened to everyone.
I have fond memories of [i]Keepsake[/i] in terms of an interesting and emotional story, beautiful graphics and nice music (those points are still valid). The voice actors of our main duo are fine and do a good job in their roles, but other mostly supernatural characters are talking very slowly to the point it can be annoying (played in English, can't speak of other language versions). On the other hand, it seems like I have completely shut out the unpleasant things about it and I don't even remember how I felt when I played it long ago… as for now I for sure felt heavy frustration in the second half.
The game is practically divided into two acts. The first is taking place in the lower grounds of the wizard academy and although the area is quite big with a lot of places to visit orienting in them is quite well-arranged and you usually know where to go next. Some locations are closed off and require additional action to be performed to get open, so be prepared to do a lot of backtracking. But it's not so horrible. After getting to the upper part of the school it's not so easy anymore. The area is probably even bigger, but every location is accessible, so the biggest problem is that you can go wherever you want and do whatever you wish, which can be pretty frustrating if you don't know what exactly you are supposed to do at the moment - because you can be struggling with some puzzle but no one will tell you that you are doing it too soon and you don't have proper requirements for it! To make the navigation around the school even worse you can't use any means of fast travel. You have a map at your disposal, but it only serves to crosscheck your whereabouts. Add to it teleportation platforms in the second act, which is a puzzle by itself, and the "fun" is complete. The game would be a lot quicker without the constant roaming through the halls for sure.
The puzzles are interesting, varied and most of the time rather hard. There is a built-in hint system which will give you a hint three times on how to solve the puzzle and if you still don't know it can be automatically solved. Sometimes the hints aren't useful much as they describe what you are supposed to do (which you know) but don't say how (which you seek from the hint). What annoyed me was that later in the game you can't tell if the puzzle you are trying to crack you should be solving at the moment - so when uncertain check the hint, if you are too early it will tell you that you miss prerequisites and you can stop wasting your time and go somewhere else! Another problem is connected to translation (again talking about English) because sometimes the assignment doesn't make any sense or point to a completely different solution than is required. And both of that can pretty much spoil the fun of the puzzles.
The game sadly has yet another frustrating problem - it can crash on you so save often! Luckily there are only three places where it can happen (at least for me). Two times during a bigger puzzle, which you have to complete under a certain number of moves to prevent the crash, and finally during the credits so if you wish for a corresponding achievement you need to switch the language to French and you are clear to go.
Sounds horrible I suppose, but even with all that was said I still recommend it to lovers of good adventure games, the story is powerful and emotional, the graphics are rather good and the puzzles are challenging and mostly fun. Be wary of the flaws though and don't hesitate to use the hints!

The graphics in this game are beautiful and aged quite well although the character models look a little stiff. I really enjoyed the setting of this game, an abandoned magical academy. The story is intriguing and the two main characters are likable enough.
Pros: Great setting, mysterious story, interesting characters, hard puzzles.
Cons; A lot of backtracking/ no way to fast travel, the hint button is way too easy to accidentally click on, unfairly hard puzzles. (I'm thinking specifically of the rune/riddle puzzle which was so vague and ambiguous I ended up just looking up the solution.) The voice acting is not so great. The game is also buggy and crashed on me multiple times, especially during a stair puzzle.
Where this game really bored me to tears was the solarium puzzle. It involved so much backtracking between this snowglobe thing and the nature classroom. The whole thing turned into a giant chore, I stopped trying to figure things out for myself and just clicked the hint button or looked up a walkthrough. I wasn't having fun anymore, I was just trying to get through this game and finish it so I would never, ever be tempted to pick it up again in the future lest my memory fade.
When a game gets me to that point, it gets an auto thumbs down unless the story is phenomenal.
But I guess it's still worth your time if you really, really like point and clicks and walking back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.

Игра невероятно красива и притягательна. Для времени ее издания это просто шедевр. Но все же некоторые загадки для меня остались непонятыми, может быть жалко времени было для их самостоятельных отгадок, а может какая-то проблема с локализацией, например обсерватория, кузница, активация воды и механизмов в первой части, не удалось взять четвертый шар-сферу в секретной библиотеке, и карта Академии (локаций) была показана не полностью, подсказки зависли на активации руны огня в кузнице. Но! Тем не менее, мне удалось получить удовольствие от этой сказочной истории, хотя иногда в самые трудные моменты приходилось пользоваться сторонними прохождениями:), плюс еще баги с зависанием и вылетом игры...Но эта игра реально завораживает. Я надеюсь, что со временем игра будет еще более улучшена, осовременена, и в нее удастся поиграть еще раз с более четкой оптимизацией! Спасибо создателям за этот шедевр!
The game is incredibly beautiful and attractive. For the time of its publication, it is simply a masterpiece. But still some riddles remained incomprehensible to me, maybe it was a pity there was time for their independent guesses, or maybe some problem with localization, for example, an observatory, a forge, activation of water and mechanisms in the first part, it was not possible to take the fourth sphere in the secret library, and the map of the Academy (locations) was it is not fully shown, the hints are stuck on the activation of the fire rune in the forge. But! Nevertheless, I managed to enjoy this fabulous story, although sometimes in the most difficult moments I had to use third-party walkthroughs :), plus bugs with the game hanging and crashing...But this game is really fascinating. I hope that over time the game will be further improved, modernized, and it will be possible to play it again with a clearer optimization! Thanks to the creators for this masterpiece!

Unfortunately, some gameplay aspects tend to ruin the experience like the fact that it often happens to let you without a clue of where to go next.
Another thing is the crashes so if you read this before playing, please save often.
If you can pass these cons, you will experience a unique game.

Keepsake is a gem of a game. I used to own it on CD years and years ago, though I had never finished it. Bought it on steam on sale for 1.49$ a few years ago (before price dropped to .99) and I finally started and completed it today. So 1$ for this game is an absolute steal.
Keepsake is a beautiful game, the story is very well done, the world is wonderful, it's a long game, the characters are done well, the voice acting is pretty good too, and there's plenty of puzzles. To me this game is aesthetically pleasing.
The puzzles are anywhere from easy to hard and they can really make you think.
You just don't get games like this anymore, the older point and click adventures games are some of the best out there.
I highly suggest getting this game.
It's really easy to get lost, and the map/area for the game takes place is a big area. So you do run around a lot (plus lots of running back and forth- back tracking) which can be annoying and I did get somewhat annoyed at some parts..... I admit I got lost a lot.. But finishing the game this time around was worth it.
Last but not least, the puzzles can get really hard as the progresses, so I will tell you to save, and save a lot, especially before you do specific puzzles.
As for the hard puzzles- I grew up playing these types of games where they're a bit harder and make you think.... Where as a lot of newer games will hold your hand, this game doesn't hold your hand.
I originally played this on windows 7 (CD version), and then windows 10 (steam DL version).
There's a specific puzzle towards the end of the game, that I messed up badly the first time I played, and when I loaded my save had been a couple hours before hand, so I never completed this when I owned it on CD.
Playing this on steam, I remembered to save before the puzzle this time.
This game is well worth the token asking price, but I will warn you about what you're getting into. This is an old game, and it's gorgeous, but rough around the edges. You're going to get crashes, so save often. It's fixed camera angles on prerendered backgrounds so there will be areas that are a little awkward to navigate, especially in the first half of the game. As an old-school adventure game, you will be wandering a large building and encountering very dense logic-heavy puzzles, BUT DON'T LOSE HOPE, the hint system is very generous. If you just want to coast and experience the story, it will tell you where to go next and (with ample chances to change your mind) even go so far as to solve the puzzles for you. I'm glad the developers brought this to us, and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
I wished there would be more games like this one....
Overall I think it was good. It's an old game, so the gameplay is dated, you have to accept that before playing.
- The story is interesting. Everyone's gone and the castle has shut down, except for 1 wolf (amogus?)
- The castle is really cool, exploring it was fun because you got to see how it worked and connected (there's a sideways spiral staircase!)
- The beginning puzzles are fun and doable by yourself.
Though I have to agree with the other reviews mentioning:
- Difficulty of puzzles is inconsistent. The last third or so of the game i just skipped to the solution (thank you for this feature). There's no downside to it either.
- The crashes happen frequently. There's no autosave, so you have to remember to save often or risk losing your progress (like so many of us did)
Keepsake is a nice and definitely underrated game. I have played several adventures over the years and don't really know why I never touched this one all the time. With the current price on steam, I couldn't say no anymore.
I enjoyed to play this one after I finally read the Harry Potter series, because of course this magic academy setting now reminds me of Hogwarts. But Keepsake has a story and characters of its own, and it's definitely a good one!
I really liked the interaction between the brave protagonist and her evolving sidekick. There were so many mysteries in the academy to be solved. But the story itself was sad as well, which surprised me a bit in the end.
I wish there was a remaster of this game with a more intuitive user interface, animations that could be skipped, and fast travel (there were several puzzles I didn't want to solve myself anymore because I was too annoyed by those long animations). Or even a sequel. I would definitely play that. The voice acting was fine as well (English version).

Я честно пыталась её пройти ещё в бородатые 00-ые. Но то ли времени не было, то ли лыжи не поехали, была заброшена эта игра в долгий ящик (Может загадки были слишком сложные?) И вот, время настало. Игра скачена, игра запущена и по итогу пройдена.Что ж, это было замечательно. Загадки не столько сложные, сколько непонятные, а иногда даже нелепо простые, от чего никак не приходило, что же делать. Крутишься ты такой на одном месте, думаешь, а оказывается - всё решается в 4 клика. Это действительно уникальная игра. Диалоги озвучены прекрасно (есть пара ляпов, которые хотелось бы убрать), декорации - очень красивые. Немного статичные катсцены, но уж что имеем. Не забуду повторить, что загадки - выше похвал, что стоила загадка с цветами или рунами.Ну и сюжет. Честно, если бы у меня спросили: играть в Кипсейк или нет, я бы сказала да, но сюжет - это то, что не дотянули. Ещё в попытке первый раз пройти её, я помню прекрасно, как где-то вычитала о "трагическом сюжете" и "вы будете плакать в конце". При всех плюсах игры, я не привязалась ни к одному персонажу. Тем более в девочке истеричке, которая показывается только на пару минут раз в 3 часа. А потому, я считаю, что сюжет слабая сторона этой игры и не заслуживает упоминания. Но скажу честно, если бы разработчики сделали небольшой финт ушами под конец, я бы им аплодировала, просто за нестандартность мышления.Вердикт: Любителям Сибири и квестов - играть. Это не поиск предметов, это именно квест со своими загадками и подсказками в диалогах и документах (коих в игре мало). Ставлю твёрдую 7 из 10, и то снизив за сюжет.

What a wonderful game! Please don't let the negligible price of this game lead you to erroneously believe it is poor quality - it is a decided gem. The amount of effort & love the developers put into this is obvious. The artwork is exceptional, the story engaging (you'll actually CARE about the characters!), and the puzzles are intriguing and challenging. And the game is also incredibly long...duh, took me 41 hours to complete and that is WITH help from both the in-game help feature and external walkthroughs. Partway through I began feeling guilty that I'd paid so little for the game and wanted to pay more to reward the developers for how much enjoyment and entertainment they were providing me (and you'd have to know what an incredible cheapskate I am to realize the what high praise this is!). The (many) scenes are beautifully drawn, with lots of detail, a fair amount of which is there just for pure aesthetics rather than need within the game. The puzzles are plentiful, diverse, and often make you feel extremely clever when you finally solve them. There is an in-game help feature that will provide some subtle nudges, and UHS has a great walkthrough that will give you progressive hints without giving away the complete answer unless you finally give up and ask for it.
The game does have a few drawbacks: Although there is an in-game map, it is not a transporting one. You will do a LOT of running around (and start to hate some of the detailed artwork that makes the distance you run so much longer). The logic of some of the puzzles seemed way too abstruse and I never would have been able to solve them without outside help....though you may well be smarter than I am! There are also a couple places where the game can crash if you do not solve a couple puzzles "correctly" (but check out Steam's discussion forum for identification of where these crashes occur and how to avoid them). But overall, the quality & fun of the game far exceed the drawbacks, and Keepsake is one of my all-time very favorite games.
Sadly, Wicked Studios abandoned adventure games after Keepsake and later disbanded, with the individual developers all seeming to move off to other genres of games....disappointing - I would have bought another Keepsake-like game from them in a heartbeat.
This game was recommended to me as one of the classic quest games, and unfortunetely it doesn't live up to this title even a little bit. So far:
- the dialogs are stupid and cringy, and Zak is as annoying as Jar Jar Binks
- the intro to the game implies that the plot is to do with some elder scholar, but after the game begins it's some seemingly random girl I know nothing about, therefore I don't care at all
- a lot of excessive screens, almost none of them are even pretty to be at least somehow justified, a lot of running between locations
- the layout of the castle is difficult and unlogical, the map is of little help and at times shows your current location inaccurately
- music is too jarring and loud at times
- game expects you to solve puzzles in a certain order (for example, if the water pump puzzle is solved before the electricity puzzle it behaves as if the solution is wrong)
- for many puzzles the solution has no logical or explained connection with the payout
- some puzzles and their purpose are become understood only after they have been solved (electricity puzzle, garden puzzle), or misleading information is given (e.g , in the electricity puzzle the marks are placed between the lines in such a way that it can mean either line)
So, how can this game attract the player? With logic and intricate and well-placed puzzles? Great characters and dialogs? Graphics or game design? Music/ Scenery? Unfortunately, none of that was even passable.

Really nice point-and-click puzzle game, with nice graphics and music. It is a bit retro, and came out when I was a kid, but still retains it's charm. Puzzles are fairly challenging.
