Overall, I enjoyed it, 6/10. I recommend buying it if it's at least half off.
I'd say about a 5-8 hour read. Great length, it didn't feel too short, or drawn out.

There's absolutely nothing NSFW, nothing even lewd or inappropriate. The swimsuit scene is the ONLY thing you could consider an exception, however it is very polite and I would be not be willing to call it suggestive.
The story is very linear, there's exactly 7 options where you chance choose. Each option only changes at most 20 of the following lines of text. (Which isn't inherently a bad thing.) I would not call it "route options" but more like "scene options", since they only effect that one moment and not the story as a whole. However, they do effect which girl your favor.
The art is quite nice, and while not the best on high resolution monitors (it scales up poorly), it's still always pleasant, making this issue fairly benign. The music is also very nice; it's up beat, very fitting, and doesn't get stale/annoying after hearing it for multiple hours.
The story is quite simple, since it's a sweet basic slice of life (SoL) story. All scenes are happy scenes, with no drama or problems, they go to events and hang out, they play and do school work - again, a sweet nonchalant SoL story.
There is this neat feature where there's provided descriptions/definitions for a lot of Japanese words, so words you may be unfamiliar with you can quickly read the meaning by clicking on it if it's blue.
The problem I have is that the story focuses A LOT on "world building", than it does the characters. What I mean by that, is this: Despite the fact that basically every single second in the entire story you're talking to at least one of the two girls, most long conversations are about Japanese culture, customs, food, holidays, etiquette, religion, etc. Japanese religion is particularly heavy - it's a very common conversation topic. So, while you do get to know and hang out with the two girls, I feel as if you learn more of the Japanese ways than you do them.
If the goal is two give you insight into, or a feel for, what the life of a Japanese School student does in real life (IRL), I'd say they did fantastic. If it was supposed to be a story about growing a relationship, and slowly falling in love, through using the things an IRL Japanese Student normally would do yearly, they did iffy at best.
In short:
It's a very simple and sweet SoL, that has good art and music, that gives you good insights into IRL Japanese culture, by using events and scenes throughout the story as lessons, from following you and two girls who are in school. Overall, 6/10, since I'll say it's a bit better than middle-road visual novels.
Primero que nada, diré que el juego cumple con lo que vende, te da una introducción a referencias y costumbres de la cultura japonesa, si evaluara al juego así le daría un 10, pero quiero resaltar algunos puntos que me gustaron como los trabajaron como otros que siento que le restan puntos…
Los puntos buenos
• La dinámica de las chicas explicando se me hizo bien, no solo era texto, le pudieron dar ejemplos e imagines, eso se agradece.
• En la historia se puede ver el choque cultural del brayan que con la cultura japonesa, como los periodos de vacaciones, las comidas navideñas, los regalos, el san valentin, las dietas de las chicas, etc. el protagonista se adapta fácil, pero se agradece que muestren su punto de vista. Ejemplo (decir que siente que sus amigas están muy delgadas o que regalar flores a una chica es una costumbre algo normalizada de este lado)
• Al ser una novela con una idea básica pudieron usar imágenes de las chicas estáticas y puro texto sin voz, aun así la novela va un paso adelante y utiliza imágenes en movimiento y con actrices de voces, lo que hace que sea más distrutable la novela
• El juego consta de dos chicas con arquetipos básicos como lo es la chica energética y la chica tranquila, algo que en lo personal sentiría que chocaría, aun así logran realizar una buena dinámica con el bryan.
• Las ilustraciones están bonitas.
• La historia en sí creo que se avienta a 10 a 12 horas, corto pero supongo que por el tipo de historia está bien.
• Las descripciones ayudan a conocer mejor las costumbres japonesas, al menos las tradiciones antiguas, del lado otaku de cierta manera las conozco, pero del lado de la cultura general me falta, así que este juego te ayuda a ampliar mas el conocimiento
***Ahora los puntos malos***
• La historia se va a la segura, las opciones no tienen mucho cambio en la historia más que en algún momento que te lleve a una plática exclusiva con alguna de las chicas (y eso es a veces), para luego regresar a la historia principal, realmente dependiendo de las opciones será el mismo final pero cambiando la última imagen. Este tipo de novelas me molestan, porque siento que no hay dinamismo, no espero 20 rutas diferentes pero creo que pudo trabajarse mejor.
• El final, aunque lo siento correcto, siento que pudo trabajarse mejor, no solo una imagen de la chica por la que vas a regresar, pon un regreso, rencontrarte con arisa/choco de nuevo. Así como quedo lo siento más como un final para la secuela “Japanese University Life” o “United States University life”
• En ciertos momentos sentí que las descripciones se llevaban mucho texto, incluso a ser medio pesado o aburrido, entiendo que es la finalidad del juego pero si me daba ansias de solo dejar el automático puesto.
• El bryan lo sentí muy otaku al inicio, al punto de que me sentía en momentos identificado con arisa y ponía la cara de (wey calmate…)
En resumen, quieres fortalecer tus conocimientos, esta es tu novela, quieres un juego que respete las acciones del jugador, lo siento pero no creo que es lo que buscas

A fun, cute and comedic visual novel that provides many Japanese history & etiquette lessons throughout. The voiced, well written characters and Live 2D made the game even better. The chibi art that was used for every story event was also really good. I enjoyed playing it through it!
The only downside I have with it is the choices presented throughout have little to no impact, with 2 choices having a new scene appear while the others only change the dialogue for few lines. Also, despite the game saying their are 'routes' for the girls, all that changes here is the final scene, and only 2-3 lines of dialogue total change there. Otherwise, the game is great.

Ta gra zainteresuje zapewne trzy typy ludzi:
1. Nietrzeźwych, którzy jakimś cudem znaleźli tą grę w swojej bibliotece i teraz jakimś cudem uczą się o Japonii przy za głośnej muzyczce w tle,
2. Weebów, którzy nie wiedzą, że ta gra nie zawiera treści seksualnych
3. Ludzi zainteresowanych życiem w Japonii oraz japońską kulturą, edukacją, prawem, tradycjami i, nader wszystko, szkolnym życiem.
Gracz wciela się w Briana, który przyjechał ze Stanów do Japonii jako uczeń z transferu, czyli takiego Erasmusa, ale bardzo ugrzecznionego. Otoczony od razu dwiema dziewczynami, Chiyoko i Arisą, uczy się o Japonii ciągle czegoś nowego. Spędza tam cały rok, a zależnie co wybiera przez grę gracz zbliży się on do jednej z nich. Chyba. Nie wiem, średnio zauważyłem różnicę w wyborach.
Nie przepadam za edukacyjnymi Visual Novelami, chyba że robią to w ciekawy sposób. Tutaj dostaniecie tylko masę tekstu na twarz, ale przynajmniej ładnie to wszystko jest narysowane. Generalnie 3/10, ale jeśli ktoś serio jest ciekaw dowiedzieć się czegoś o Japonii, to mogę bardzo polecić. Ale pewnie jeśli już się tym interesujecie, to większość z treści tej gry będzie dla was tylko odświeżeniem pamięci.

Cute-meet story of "Brian" (player) who participates in an overseas high school exchange to Japan. Meet your two new Japanese friends in high school. Choose your favourite girl, and hang out with these two cuties who happen to be your tour guides and new best friends! "Arisa" is sporty, cheeky and a total foodie. "Choco" is studious, nerdy and student body president. Worst part has to be the fact that Brian gets friend-zoned the entire year, and doesn't really do anything about it. A highlight was learning about Japanese culture, history, and yearly traditions. Game takes around 7 hours, and you can auto-play the script which means you can just sit back and listen. Very wholesome fun, safe for work and down right educational lol.
- 교환학생으로 일본의 고등학교에 들어온 미국 고딩 브라이언이 되어 같은 반의 두 JK 히로인과 함께 일본의 고2 생활을 만끽하는 이야기입니다.
- 일본 제작사에서 일본에 관심있는 외국인들에게 일본문화를 소개하기 위해 만든 홍보게임이란 느낌이 강합니다. 그러니 어찌 보면 당연할지도 모르지만, 주인공은 일본과 일본문화에 긍정적이고 호의적인 평가를 내리는 경우가 많습니다. 골든위크에 낀 평일들을 휴일로 보장하지 않는 데 대한 푸념같은 것들을 빼면 일본을 비판하는 경우는 별로 보지 못했네요. 와패니즈 오타쿠 서양인 주인공이 일본을 칭찬하는 모습을 보고 싶지 않다고 생각하시는 분껜 이 게임을 추천하기가 힘듭니다.
- 미연시 게임이기에 앞서 일본문화ㆍ풍속에 대해 소개하고 설명하는 쪽에 더욱 힘이 들어가지 않았나 싶었습니다. 여기 나오거나 설명되는 일본의 문화, 풍속들 중에선 생활에 도움이 될 만한 잡지식들도 있고 덕후들이 동경할 법한 것들도 많지만, 이런 것에 관심가질 외국인들이 얼마나 있을까 싶은 꽤나 마니악한 이야기들이 어느 정도 포함되어 있습니다. 제작진은 일본의 전통과 세시풍속, 전통행사들을 외국인에게, 그리고 이 게임을 플레이하는 자국민들에게도 좀 더 널리 알리고 싶었던 걸까 하는 생각이 들더군요.
- 일러스트, CG, 성우같은 면에선 기본 내지 그 이상은 하는 게임이지만, 밀당이라든가, 들었다 놨다하는 면이 부족해선지 작품의 스토리는 꽤 심심했습니다. 남자 하나와 여자 둘이 1년간 같이 다니고, 두 여자가 한 남자를 좋아하는데도, 삼각관계 특유의 조마조마함이 작중에서 거의 느껴지지 않았습니다.(이 작품 히로인들은 질투심이 없나? 하는 생각이 들 정도) 플레이타임은 생각보다 긴 작품임에도 이야기에 굴곡이 부족한 점이 아쉬웠습니다.
- 두 히로인 중 하나인 위원장(반장) 혼다 치요코의 성우는 타네다 리사입니다. 양지에서 한창 잘나가던 그 시절의 그녀 목소리를 듣고 싶으신 분들께 추천할 만한 게임입니다.(다른 히로인인 텐션 높은 소녀 스즈키 아리사의 성우는 당시 에로게 판에서 엄청 잘나가던 타카다 하츠미)
- 한 화면에서 영어 자막과 일본어 자막을 동시에 보면서 플레이할 수 있는 영일대역모드(뭐 영어로만 플레이할 수도 있고, 일어로만 플레이할 수도 있지만요)가 지원되는 게임들 중엔, 세일가 기준으로 가장 싸고(1100원) 할인률이 높습니다(90%). 영어공부나 일어공부하는데 써먹을 수 있을지도?

JSL is a Solid VN. The premise is spending a year in Japan with Arisa and Choco and that's about as simple as it gets. It's just the player and 2 characters. No fluff and what is present in the VN is done well. Good character design and adorable use of Chibi art to transition between scenes. The passage of time has good pacing and the game highlights the seasons, festivals, and other celebrations to great effect.
I couldn't find out what VN engine this was made on, but it looks similar to what KARAKARA uses. Super responsive menu/UI and I wish more VNs had this layout. JSL is quite the steal ($1.29 CAD) considering the high quality!

Neat lil game on the culture/subcultures of japan. Title is a bit misleading since it doesn't really focus on actual school life, but festivities and traditions. The MC is a complete dork tho made me cringe sometimes.
日本に留学してクラスメイトのかわいい女の子2人と過ごしながら日本の文化を楽しく学ぶお話。
こどもの日や端午の節句に始まり、鯉のぼり、お盆、コミケ、初詣など、いろんな日本文化を細かく教えてくれます。日本人でも意外と知らなさそうな事まで丁寧に教えてくれるので結構勉強になりました。
日本に馴染みが無い人にとって分かりにくいであろう単語(畳、部活とか)にはTipsがついており、クリックすると補足説明を見れるのは気が利いててGood。
ヒロインの2人はe-moteのアニメーションとフルボイス付きでとてもカワイイ。ちびキャラの挿絵が特にかわいくてしかも枚数が豊富なのが個人的お気に入りポイント。
主人公の留学期間は1年ということで日本の春夏秋冬のイベントを一通り網羅できます。テンポが良いので物語がサクサク進行する点もGood。
総評：
かわいいクラスメイトとイチャイチャしながら日本文化を学べるのでオススメ。日本人がやっても割と面白いと思います。余談ですが、本作が楽しめた方は『Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~』もオススメ。こちらは日本の文化がメインになっているのに対し、あちらは日本の名所がメインになっています。

This game tries to teach you something!
This kind of game is really rare and always very useful, especially if you want to learn something about the culture of a country. During my 7 hours of experience, I learned a lot about the origins of some foods, traditions and other things about Japan, which makes this game really interesting.
However, the story is really limited and kind of rushed: a guy who just joined a school starts dating girls and shopping or something? Especially with Japanese girls? It's not realistic at all because they are very reserved, which is in contradiction with the main theme of the game. (It's true that if the game wasn't like that, they couldn't try to teach us something in a natural way).
On top of that, there is also the problem of the background music... Almost always the same and so, I started to get a headache after only 1 hour of listening...
Overall, this game can get a 6.5/10 because it teaches us a lot about Japan!
游戏的制作谈不上精细，主画师ぴこぴこぐらむ笔下的角色是很色的，但是不知道为什么在这个游戏里变得无限接近 karory，是上色的缘故吗？另外游戏也没有什么特别的 OP ED，看来所有预算都给两位声优了吧。
我原本对这个游戏没什么期待，但是玩通后仔细想想好像这个游戏的定位就是一个“日本文化向导”，只不过是找了两个美少女来作形象大使为你介绍在日本游玩所需要知道的一切知识。
而我们的主角的那些感慨，更多的还是一种“伏拉夫”式的自我满足。能通过游戏的方式体验一把在日本留学一年的感受，姑且也算是一个不错的作品。
当然游戏中回避了现实中的日本存在的各种问题，并且进行了各种各样的美化。我最不能忍受的就是那个“满员电车”，经历过的人都知道有多痛苦，而游戏却用了一种“特别的体验”来一笔带过，包括日本社会中存在的营业性笑容，以及人与人之间的疏远，都是游戏没有提到的。
最扯淡的是游戏最后还给了主角一个恋爱的机会，你可以在情人节选择一个美少女送礼物，虽然这种操作并不能改变最后的结局，只是留了一个开放性的尾巴，告诉你主角和爱慕的女孩建立了联系，将来有机会再来日本的话，两人定会发生出新的故事。
哦对了，游戏只有 6 个成就，两个女主角的个人路线（如果能称得上是的话）都走一边就满了，不支持中文，只有英文和日文。
话说这个制作组 code.jp 的上一作还那么正经和华丽，这一作缩水成这样，不知道是不是没钱了，当然不变的还是面对“欧美海外市场”那种“投其所好”但又”多此一举“的制作方针了。
个人并不推荐，除非卖到 6 块。

Good art, both background and character art are consistently good.
There's a small amount of distortion animation on the characters,
it's mostly done in subtle way that looks good and doesn't mess up the nice art too much.
I wish all dev's understood the value of such subtlety.
Story is just slice of life stuff,
If you are interested in learning about the nitty gritty of Japanese culture you will like this,
if not then it's really not for you, since the main focus is for this to be a window in to Japanese culture.
Even for a man of culture such as myself,
there was a great deal of new information here.
It's kind of an info-tainment / holiday brochure in the form of a VN.
Not exactly riveting stuff tbh,
but it's well made for what it is.
It's decent, nothing special.
Game is progressing rather fast, a bit to fast imho.
Protagonist(s) make you want to punch a hole in the wall sometimes.
I'd still recommend it on sale.

Fairly linear visual novel, though there are a few choices that steer towards one girls ending or another. Almost seems like it could have been sponsored by Japans tourism board for the content tied into educating about culture and customs. It's fairly cute and charming, no nsfw content, and of modest length (I took my time at 10 hours, probably should be more like 6-8). Worth picking up, especially during a sale if you're interested in learning more about Japan.
The game is very educational on the basics of Japanese culture along with being very heavy with comedy. Storyline is 100% wholesome and the routes don't impact the overall story. | Rating: 9.5/10

CV虽然请了种田梨沙和高田初美这种大佬，但是由于本子太水了，大佬的功力没有展现，白费了。
Новелла про дружбу ГГ с кошкодевочкой и собачкодевочкой одноклассницами (с нэками же всё же приятней, чем с обычными тянками, так что выбор режима нэкомими интересней). Сюжет незатейливый, перемежается разъяснительными повседневными японскими обывательскими ситуациями и объектами. Что действительно сделано качественно и что очень редко можно увидеть в новеллах - то что школьницы полностью анимированны, они не статичны, всегда двигаются и это не зацикленные "по кругу" движения, как в мультфильме - 2D тянки всегда подвижны, визуально красиво.
For you who have interests to Japanese culture, this VN is a good choice. Because this VN teach you so many common Japanese culture and about Japanese school life. But yeah, little disappointed with the ending and little bit cringe with Brian's character LOL

Great little VN about japan culture. Did not expect much heading into it but I actually learned some interesting stuff about living in Japan~ There are not much character specific scenes or development between the 2 routes that are in the game but the story and the art/animation is great.

A nice introduction to Japanese culture for newbie weebs.
Fun VN and a nice guide into some of what it would be like living in Japan, both culturally and day to day life

This VN is fairly different from typical VNs where the focus lies solely on the plot. Instead, this one incorporates fun, interesting tidbits about Japanese culture/sub-culture into its slice-of-life style of plot.
The premise choice is quite clever; setting up the protagonist as an foreign exchange student in Japan. The girls he meets in school essentially act as his tour guides, showing him around Japan and explaining their culture. It justifies the random tidbits sprinkled into the plot, as a means to educate not just the protagonist but the reader as well. As a non-Japanese, I found this aspect of the VN to be fairly interesting, though it did break the plot immersion a bit.
In terms of the plot itself, it doesn't do the title any justice, seeing most of the events happen outside of school. Overall, while I did find the plot to be fairly linear, the narrative is quite wholesome, typical of a generic slice-of-life VN. The BGM pairs well with the setting in each scene and complements the cutesy artstyle. While the plot isn't particularly outstanding and the overall story is fairly short, it is fairly well-written in a pleasant and likable manner. Coupled with the interesting trivia, it was quite a good read.
However, I do think there are some flaws. Firstly, there is the illusion of choice. The VN attempts to be non-linear by occasionally giving you choices. However, I find that picking one or the other doesn't really impact the overall narrative in a meaningful manner, aside from a few changed dialogue, depending on your choice. I had hope each choice would direct the narrative in another manner, but this was unfortunately not the case. Second, while I did find the overall plot and the two female characters to be likable, the main protagonist is not. He is a massive weeb, to the point of it being obnoxious and it pulls away from the exposition introduced in the beginning of the VN. Consequently, it's very hard to relate to the protagonist as the reader and it does break the immersion a bit.
Overall, I would still recommend it. The VA is crisp; the plot, narrative and female characters are likable; the BGM and art are great. And the random trivia was not only informative, but fun and interesting to read about too. If you're looking for a fun, light-hearted read with an appreciation for Japanese culture/subculture, give this VN a shot.
However, if you're looking for a VN with a relatable protagonist, deep world-building and character development or where choices meaningfully and significantly impact the direction of the narrative, this VN will not be for you.

미연시 탈을 쓴 교육용 소프트웨어. 내용 자체는 현실과는 상당히 동떨어진 씹덕의 망상 수준이다. 현실 일본의 생활을 보여주는 듯 하지만 수박 깨기만 봐도 이세계물이란 걸 알 수 있다. 씹덕들도 이런 망상은 안 해. 수박을 아깝게 왜 깨냐고.
그거랑은 별개로 게임 자체는 상당히 괜찮은 물건. 가격에 비해 볼륨도 충분하고 타네다상을 갖다 쓴 더빙도 좋고 의외로 선택지와 멀티 엔딩도 있는 유사 미연시다. 내용도 건전하고 중간중간 그려진 SD 캐릭터들이 너무 귀엽다. 설명하는 게 대체로 씹덕 문화에 치중되어 있긴 하지만 설명이 의외로 상세해서 나는 재밌었다. 히나마츠리 같은 거 솔직히 대충 의의만 알았지 이렇게 강의 들어본 건 처음임.
주인공은 일본을 만화로만 배운 서양인 컨셉인데 그래서 그런지 생각마다 '일본 대단해', '과연 일본', '이것이 일본인의 심성' 뭐 이런 생각들을 에피소드마다 거의 하나씩 한다. 일뽕이 거슬리면 걸러야 하겠으나, 애초에 대놓고 일본 홍보하겠다고 만든 게임이라 이걸 문제시할 순 없다. 내심 이렇게 홍보하는 게 부러웠음. 우리도 홍보한다고 이것저것 만들긴 하는데 대부분 어떻게 됐는지 다들 알잖아.
게임 자체는 일본에서 1년간 학교생활을 하면서 각종 이벤트를 겪는 식으로 진행된다. 하지만 대부분은 그들만의 이벤트에 몰려있어 한계가 뚜렷하다. 여캐들이 설명 모드에 들어갈 때마다 은근히 대화하다가 갑자기 광고모드로 들어가던 트루먼 쇼가 연상됐는데 그런 컨셉으로 두근두근 문예부스럽게 만들었어도 신선했을 듯 하다. 주인공이 씹덕 취향이라 주변도 그렇게 설정된 셈이니 왤케 씹덕 쪽으로 치우쳐있는지에 대한 설명이 되기도 하니까. 그래도 뭐 지금의 건전한 스토리라인도 나쁘지 않다.
[spoiler] 엔딩에서 히로인을 선택할 수 있지만(정확히 말하면 엔딩에서 선택하는 게 아니라 그동안 선택지 결과에 따라 정해져있음) 이어지는 결말로 끝나진 않는다. [/spoiler] 솔직히 주인공이 영 몰입이 안 돼서인지 그렇게 끝나도 별로 아쉽진 않다.
발상의 역전: 의외로 주인공은 동성 친구들도 많고 걔들이랑 노는 것도 자주 나온다. 하지만 여캐 2명은 자기들끼리만 놀거나 주인공 포함 3명이서만 놀지 동성 친구들과 노는 장면이 전혀 안 나온다. 사실 초인기 갓양남이 찐따 2명이랑 가끔 놀아주는 내용이 아니었을까? 어떻게 보면 남캐뿐 아니라 여캐 입장에서도 망상극이다. 일본 문화를 너무 좋아하는 서양남이 나랑 학교생활을 하면서 각종 이벤트를 겪으며 마지막엔 나한테 빠진다? 이거 오토메물이네요.
A normal visual novel which sometimes teaches you about Japanese culture.
More of slice of life than romance VN, well that suits the title well. so don't expect a lot of romance dialogue here. instead there are tons of japanese trivia and culture information. I found some of them interesting hence I read every words, but some are not so I skip them. art is good, only 2 characters besides MC but they're like able (the seiyuu also great). Overall pretty good read and the length is fine (not too short or long). 7/10 for me, better get this on sale if you're interested.

And for lack of sound settings because of which you can't turn off or at least down this rеtаrded music.
The only thing that changes from your choices in the ending is the direction of zoom LOL.
