It's an interesting game that is very much carried by the setting. The actual gameplay is fairly simple and wasn't particularly challenging on the default difficulty. There aren't any production chains that are more than ore>resource and very little in the way of logistics outside of the basic storage having an automated "I want x resources here, don't move them unless I have y amount". The citybuilding was very much just okay, everything is some degree of square so you don't really have to do much thinking to try and cram things in. It's very forgiving when you do decide to move things around later too with a full refund on building resources.

The tutorial section mentions that there are going to be tough choices with no correct answer so I was expecting some frostpunkesque decisions but there wasn't really anything that took much consideration.

The story starts out fairly strong but drops off to be just average by the end. The worldbuilding definitely kept me interested despite that. It also helps that I'm a big fan of generation ship style scifi and this hits that same niche.

If you enjoy scifi and generation/colony ships you'll probably have fun. If you just want a city builder or management sim to play then you're better off looking elsewhere.

Gra dla miłośników strategii, wciągająca fabuła z dawką tajemnicy. Niestety gra ma tą wadę żę NON-STOP musimy dbać o podstawowe składniki i łańcuchy dostaw, inaczej wszystko się rozlatuje. Zupełnie jak bym zarządzał idiotami a nie rozumnymi ludzmi. Powinna być opcja przydziału ról, abym mógł oderwać się od zbierania żelaza i skupić się na rozwoju i badaniu tajemnicy. Najlepsze że sam IXION rozlatuje się szybciej niż ruskie łady, musi być NON-STOP naprawiany, co zużywa dużo surowców.
Dlaczego sonda po odnalezieniu zasobów znika? to nie logiczne, powinna dalej krążyć odkrywać kolejne zasoby i tajemnice.
Ludzie w tansporterach nie mają świadomości jakie materiały są potrzebne? nie mają jakiś środków łączności, to dowódca musi każdorazowo się pochylić nad każdym transportem?

I love the Genre and was recommended this Game due to similarities to Frostpunk. But those are superficial. From a good Core idea and a fun Story setup, it goes downhill quick. The Design is clever, but unneccessarily hard. You will find yourself stuck, repeatedly. Not due to Resources, but inability to use them. It's plain bad Design. Another critical Spot I'm amazed is not mentioned up and down the Review page: Science.

It is crippling how slow development is in this supposed city builder. Utterly, devastatingly, unworkably slow. If you have an exceptional tolerance for tedium, try this Game. Otherwise, spend your Money on better rounded options.

What a great game. If you like sci-fi and city-builders then this is it. You will have to manage resources, people, and technology as you embark on a spacefaring journey. I had to restart this games multiple times to learn it and be able to manage the difficulty; something I believe was part of the fun. I have completed the game twice on the regular difficulty. I might be done after finishing the last one but perhaps I will try my hand at the improved difficulty setting. The game has many things about it that make it a great game. I truly would recommend.

Ixion is a Homeworld-style game that focuses on logistics and management simulation rather than space battles. It’s a brutal but fair game where every success gives you a visceral joy, while failure might mean the end for your colony.

A definite plus is quality of gameplay loops. Mechanics are consistent and complement each other, making the game engaging and rewarding. There’s never a dull moment (e.g. waiting for raw materials), because there’s always something to do – a new building to build, a sector to remodel, a tech to research etc.
What’s more, the game features one of the best-designed technology trees I’ve ever seen. Technologies that improve upon existing ones (such as larger warehouses or lower energy consumption) are directly linked to the main technology on the tree and appear as separate ‘submenus’. This makes it incredibly easy to navigate and use.
Visually, the game looks excellent and is beautifully detailed. It has a consistent artistic vision – our mobile colony must, by necessity, be as productive as possible, whilst beauty and aesthetics take a back seat. This is evident in every aspect of the game, from the policies you can implement to the design of the buildings.

Unfortunately, one of the game’s most glaring flaws is that it either has an unresolved memory leak or a bug with similar symptoms. It [i]may[/i] occur after 5–6 hours of gameplay and is easy to fix (restart game), but it’s worth knowing about it in advance.
Another point is that the gameplay is so closely intertwined with the storyline that, apart from it, game offers no separate scenarios or free-roam mode. As you progress through the game, it’s easy to see where such scenarios could have been designed, making use of what you find and discover along the way.

Would I recommend it? Yes.
This is a solid survival city-builder with well-designed mechanics that work seamlessly together. Despite some drawbacks, the gameplay loop is so engaging that once you finish the game, you’ll either start a new one right away or come back to it later anyway. Only this time to try your hand at a higher difficulty level.

[*] Game is quite beautiful with great attention to details. Your “city” is living, people are moving around, materials are transported etc., while outside you can admire the star system you're currently in – planets, effects and even stars with their own gravity wells.

[*] Another fact is that both the technical solutions and the ship’s design are well-conceived. Even at first glance, it is clear that everything on the ship has been designed according to the principle of “efficiency and practicality.” Furthermore, all the technical solutions involve technologies that humanity should be able to develop within the next century or for which prototypes already exist (with the exception of the ship’s engine—that is pure fiction).

[*] Soundtrack is industrial and futuristic. It's catchy, fits the game perfectly, and is actually pretty good to listen to outside of the game, too. It was composed by David Guillaume (same composer as in Adeptus Mechanicus).

[*] The technology tree is well-designed. Core technologies have their own place in the tree, while secondary technologies are linked to the core technologies and grouped around them in a separate “submenu.” This has helped avoid unnecessary clutter and makes it easier to find the find the technology you are looking for.

[*] UI is well-designed. It is intuitive, fits the game’s atmosphere, and while it may seem complicated at first glance, it’s actually quite easy to use.

[*] Tutorial does its job, too. It has been carefully designed and covers everything it needs to, leaving nothing out. If anyone still has questions, they can refer to the local codex, which was written to provide as much necessary information with as little unnecessary text as possible.

[*] Difficulty level is well-balanced. “Easy” is somewhat similar to story mode. It’s still challenging, but it’s beatable, and some of the more troublesome mechanics (which add an extra layer of difficulty to take into account) are disabled. “Normal” and higher difficulty levels provide the right amount of pressure, when it comes to survival in this survival city-builder game.

[*] Plot is interesting and, all in all, quite mysterious. To be honest, there are two stories here - one that’s obvious at first glance and easy to grasp, and another that requires more effort. You have to decipher certain seemingly random, but in truth not entirely random, texts and carefully read the descriptions of all the technologies and events.

[*] Two endings. I’d say that fits the theme pretty well: “one for each story.”

[*] Concept of a moving city forces the player to make the most of the available space and plan how to use each tile.

[*] Autosave at the beginning of each chapter. If something goes wrong, you can go back and try again.

[*] Each chapter presents the player with its own challenges to overcome - whether related to the situation or the environment. This keeps the player on edge and prevents them from feeling completely safe.

[*] Price/length ratio is well balanced. Length of your playthrough depends largely on the difficulty level you choose.

Game has no sandbox mode, nor separate scenarios. I understand why the developers decided to do this (the gameplay and the story are closely intertwined), but I'd still like to have some option to add variety to subsequent playthroughs.

I hate to write a negative review after having barely played but the UI makes the game unplayable. I have 20/20 vision but the UI is so tiny that my eyes hurt within a few minutes. The only option to increase it I found was "Increase text size" in accessibility, but that only effects dialog text. I would love to come back if they fix the issue, but I'm not going to give myself a headache just to play a game. This is the first time I've ever asked Steam for a refund.

건설 시뮬레이션이나 시티빌더를 기대하고 왔다면 절대 사지 말 것.

게임 완성도는 기본적인 건설 시뮬레이션의 기초조차 지키지 못한 수준이다.
제한된 공간에 일부러 불친절한 크기로 설계된 건물들을 억지로 끼워 맞추는, 말 그대로 테트리스 플레이를 강요한다.

쓰레기 같은 물류 시스템과 반복 작업, 그리고 게임 경험을 망치는 밸런싱까지,
마치 경력 있는 신입을 구하는 듯한 말도 안 되는 자원 구조와 연구 트리를 가지고 있다.
이 때문에 한 번 삐끗하면 복구조차 불가능한 불쾌한 상황에 빠지기 쉽다.

후반으로 갈수록 상황은 더 악화된다.
모기 소리처럼 거슬리는 사고 경고음을 계속 듣게 되고,
정작 내가 만든 도시를 관리하기보다 텅 빈 우주만 바라보며 유전찾기에 시간을 쓰게 된다.

중요한 선택지는 건물 어딘가에 돋보기를 눈빠지게 찾아서 클릭해야 되고,
출시된 지 4년이 되어가는데도 버그조차 제대로 수정되지 않았다.
도전과제 하나가 끝까지 안 깨지는 바람에 결국 100% 달성도 포기하고 게임을 접었다.

다시 한 번 말한다.
이 게임은 시티빌더로서는 최악에 가까운 작품이다.
차라리 다른 인디 시티빌더를 사는 게 훨씬 만족스러울 것이다.

[h3]하지만 SF, 우주를 좋아한다면 명품이다.[/h3]

아이러니하게도 SF와 철학을 결합한 스토리는 꽤 잘 짜여 있다.
기술뽕을 차오르게 하는 웅장한 영상미와 브금은 만족감을 가져다 주었다.

최저난이도가 얼마나 쉽게 할 수 있을지는 모르겠지만, 원하는대로 건물 대충 지어가며 분위기를 느끼고 영상을 느끼고 텍스트를 읽으며 스토리를 볼 거라면 충분히 추천할 만하다.
다만, 다시한번 말하건데 게임성 자체는 절대 기대하지 말 것.

Deep strategy with upgrades on every building (discovered too late).

Recommend first research points into the lab; check building upgrades in the research tab by clicking opened items.
Weaknesses and Bugs
Tutorial could be more detailed—I had to Google solutions 3 times.

Algae farm falsely reports grid issues (fix: power toggle); batteries and housing work without roads, but batteries can block game end.

Resource haulers return fully loaded if unable to unload—nothing affected playability.

Highly recommend to survival strategy fans.

For full price not worth it, for discount yeah sure, content is not too replayable it is a linear survival, frostpunk alike story game. It has interesting mechanics cool concept but it lacks in hours you can spend on it. One could go for the challenge option for the second run but man it stops being remotely pleasurable only painful. The random accidents are such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you can't predict them and they happen at worst possible time (Which will end your run in hardest mode for sure).

In one sentence game is cool but too short and not replayable, which such things frostpunk doesn't lack with its varienty and endless campaign.

Не ждал от игры многого , но она с двух ног залетела в мой топ-лист подобных игр. Шикарный градостроительный симулятор в космическом сеттинге, который не успевает приестся, но и достаточно продолжительная что бы наиграться от души. Космической глубины строительства и реиграбельности ждать не стоит, но она прекрасна и без этого. Стоит дёшево и настоятельно рекомендую попробовать всем любителям жанра.

One of my favorite games. The game Story is great, music is greater, and the game play is uh engaging. At least before the easy mode was added if you got distracted at all you would run out of resources and enter a disaster spiral, which sucks but I love it. The music is made by the same guy who does mechanicus, because its made by the same people, so its super duper good. And its in space, all the best games are in space. Buy Buy Buy, at least for the music.

Это симулятор управления космической станцией в процессе поиска нового дома для человечества. Игра совмещает классический градострой с менеджментом ресурсов и изучением космоса.

Нужно обустраивать станцию, строить жилье, заводы и инфраструктуру. Пространство внутри ограничено, плюс есть лимиты по энергоснабжению — просто впихнуть постройки не получится, требуется планирование. У населения тоже есть свои хотелки - они хотят есть, у них бывают забастовки, психологические травмы от событий, уровень доверия к управляющему и желание не перерабатывать, поэтому необходимо распределять население внутри станции так, чтобы закрывать все потребности в жилье и рабочей силе. Ко всему этому еще необходимо следить за прочностью корпуса космической станции и ремонтировать повреждения.

Ресурсы для всех строительных работ и сырье для производства этих ресурсов добываются с помощью внешних кораблей, затем доставляются на станцию и перемещаются между секторами на заводы, все это необходимо контролировать и перераспределять.

Для работы в космосе есть три типа кораблей:
Научный — изучение космоса и событий.
Горный — добыча сырья для дальнейшей транспортировки на станцию.
Грузовой — транспортировка грузов.

При исследовании планет, астероидов и аномалий часто всплывают события с вариантами выбора действий (например, взорвать или изучить). От данных выборов зависит многое, стоит думать прежде чем выбирать.

Есть древо улучшений. Очки исследований ограничены и добываются в основном в космосе научными кораблями, отката изучений нет — распределять нужно аккуратно.

Колонизация планет простая и делается в несколько этапов: найти подходящую планету, изучить ее научным кораблем, собрать ресурсы на базе необходимые для обустройства колонии, подготовить колонистов и отправить их.

В игре так же есть сюжет. Сюжет подается через изучение космоса и различные события. Катсцены стильные, постановка крутая, музыка атмосферная и приятная.

Геймплей затягивает надолго, сюжет интригует и не банален, атмосфера и шарм космоса переданы шикарно.

Well, what can I say… I have mixed feelings about this game. I love city-builders like Frostpunk, especially in a space setting, but this game really frustrated me. The atmosphere is great, the concept is awesome, and the gameplay is engaging and addictive, but…

How is it possible that in four damn years the developers still haven’t fixed the resource transfer bug between sectors? It’s incredibly frustrating. I eventually just dropped the game because the resource transfer logic is poorly designed, unfinished, and on top of that is buggy.

I’m giving this game a negative review specifically so the developers and publishers pay attention to this issue, and I don’t recommend buying it for the same reason.

I'm not entirely through the campaign yet, but I feel like I can give an adequate impression now, barring major gameplay changes occurring in the final chapter or so.

Ixion is like that girl you like, but who makes it really hard to actually like her at times. She's good-looking, got personality and real depth, she's complicated and good fun most of the time, but as soon as something starts going wrong she's spiralling so hard out of control you're wondering whether it's all worth it, since it keeps happening over and over again, and it's just exhausting, and you only wanted to meet her for an hour or so, but she trauma and drama dumped everything on you, and you sat there, listening for 6 hours straight, kinda intrigued at first, then mostly annoyed, and absolutely desperate and forlorn by the end.

What I meant to say is: get excited to be abused. A lot. I've checked online resources, and everyone keeps telling me this game is "so easy". And I couldn't agree less. Ixion takes time, and unless you save-scum your way through it (and even that only helps a bit), since there is NO variation in the story at all, it's not unlikely you will have to restart a chapter (or the previous chapter IF you have a save!) all over again, because the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you over thrice. And this isn't about being a "perfectionist", this is to avoid terrible death spirals, and there are oh so many of them.

From running out of iron to produce anything, let alone repair your hull, meaning you die (the ship, which is funnily enough not called Ixion, that's a sister ship, takes damage whenever it moves ... a lot of damage, and after each "jump" part of your hull is just permanently gone). Or running out of food, because the game constantly forces you to thaw out more cryo pods to increase your population to keep producing ♥♥♥♥, but until you get some good upgrades, better food production than insects, and preferrably a dedicated section of the ship reserved for the main food production, you're just constantly balancing ♥♥♥♥ out. Then you need water or waste, and you looked away for a second and all your supplies have vanished, or the autobots can't figure out how to deliver the FULL stockpiles to the neighboring sectors for some reason. The game certainly doesn't tell you. It does remind me a bit of Anno, which has similar quirks.

No, in Ixion you need a different stockpile in every section of the ship, even though you technically don't need any micro chips over there 99.99% of the time, but apparently it's not possible to make a shared storage and reserve some space there for the 1 micro chip you will eventually need ... sigh. And these stockpiles take up valuable space, energy and manpower. You can, of course, deactivate or deconstruct them afterwards, but that's just tedious and time consuming, and you still need to reserve the space anyway.

You may also just run out of power or your people might start to dislike you, and then some people die, and everyone's overworked, and oh no they're on strike now, because they're hungry, but you can't give them food, because the food stockpile is being striked!!! It's Frostpunk all over again. People, I get it, you're annoyed, but at least have enough sense to put your own survival first! It took me forever to realize that my people were constantly dying in accidents, because my clinics couldn't keep up with treatment. The game COULD have told me "hey, mate, you might wanna get another clinic", like it does when you don't have enough food distribution centers.

But instead, Ixion is comfortable just watching you die miserably over and over again. The tutorial is expansive, but doesn't touch on a lot of things, like actual resource distribution, how it works, how to make it efficient. It's all just text dumps, and many menus aren't really discussed. Or how to even see how many injured people you currently have. There are no heatmaps, you have to open a new menu, then look at the total amount of people you have, and in the very bottom you see how many are injured, despite literally having a pointless people counter in the top bar that does NOT show this vital info. Instead it shows you the amount of workers and non-workers, which is also meaningless, since it doesn't put it into perspective with the amount of REQUIRED workers in a section. For THAT you have to check each section individually, THEN remember how much deficit or surplus there is before you transfer that amount to or from another sector!

And that's Ixion all over. All of that might be "just" obtuse, but the game then thanks you with PERMANENT debuffs to your stability (i.e. how much people hate you). Permanent. There is no way to get rid of them. If you haven't had the foresight to save-scum you may just be ♥♥♥♥ out of luck. Permanent debuff for leaving Earth behind, for having 200 people die overall, for having x amount of injured at the same time, or x amount of starving people ... I understand a TEMPORARY debuff in that regard. But you get that one on top anyway! Maybe you lost a science ship to a seemingly random event, and now you have a permanent debuff. It's tiring if there are NO warnings whatsoever. They could have said "warning, if you don't resolve the food situation in x cycles you're going to incur a permanent penalty".

Anyway, despite all that ... I still recommend it. Barely. But don't be like me: look up some actual guides or tips beforehand, otherwise be prepared to lose 6 hours of progress, because you realize your entire setup isn't working, because you needed to focus on entirely different research (because the game never told you you can upgrade your buildings!) or that an event with no apparent risk leads to the death of your entire crew. Or that you just started an event that you can't cancel anymore, and now you have to wait for 100 cycles until your stupid cargo ship decides it's finally got enough steel to bring to that outpost you're erecting, despite you literally swimming in steel. Not enough fine control, but still an entertaining and interesting game if only for the fact that there's nothing really comparable out there.

El concepto del juego es interesante y la ambientación espacial está bien lograda, pero en la práctica la experiencia termina siendo bastante aburrida.

La jugabilidad se vuelve rápidamente repetitiva y monótona. La mayor parte del tiempo consiste en gestionar los mismos problemas una y otra vez sin que el juego aporte suficiente variedad o profundidad estratégica.

Las decisiones parecen limitadas y muchas situaciones se sienten más como apagar incendios constantemente que como construir o planificar algo interesante.

Después de varias horas jugando, la sensación general es que el juego se vuelve tedioso y no consigue mantener el interés a largo plazo.

Bit of a buggy mess still really. If you reassign a freighter that is en-route to a mission, then that mission becomes stuck as that same freighter, nor any others, will go back to it. This can happen with mandatory missions too, leaving them non completable.
This would not be such an issue if it were not that a level can take an entire day to get through. (the game has autosaves..but they are not frequent, and you will not be noticing that bug immediately)

The game is also over complicated, for the sheer sake of it.
The ship is broken into 6 districts..and they will not automatically share resources with each other. You have to manually set resource allocation targets..which is fine in theory, if you like this level of micro management, except that this too can bug out.

La situation sur Terre avec la destruction de l’environnement étant ce qu’elle est, Ixion vous propose de réaliser la vision de la solution idéale (pour un milliardaire) : faire fuir l’humanité dans l’espace à bords d’une station spatiale hors de prix vers une autre galaxie en espérant trouver un nouvel Eden. Tout ne se passe pas vraiment comme prévu lors du premier saut spatial du vaisseau et vous devrez, en plus de votre mission de guider l’équipage à bon port, errer de système solaire en système solaire en récoltant les ressources nécessaires à la survie de tous, le tout à bords d’une station qui se dégrade à chaque saut et demande une attention constante, et vos escl… euh votre force de travail qui se remet difficilement de la destruction de la Terre. Le jeu rappellera Frostpunk sur bien des aspects mais avec beaucoup plus de gestion et beaucoup moins de décisions sociales. Vous serez alors presque constamment la tête sous l’eau puisque rien ne se passe comme prévu et le temps de régler un problème urgent et le suivant a déjà du mal à attendre son tour. Il n’est pas rare alors que les conséquences d’une erreur de gestion se répercutent des heures après, vous obligeant à devoir recommencer des pans entiers du scénario. La bande son accompagne le tout magnifiquement. Le jeu représente toutefois un vrai challenge qui poussera l’optimisation à son paroxysme, et il me parait impossible d’imaginer quiconque arriver au bout de l’aventure, sans guide, lors de sa première tentative. Le jeu n’est pas injuste, mais simplement impitoyable. Je ne vous le conseillerais donc que si vous êtes bien préparé ^^

J'ai été l'administrateur du Tiqqun, le vaisseau où résidaient les derniers êtres humains de la galaxie. J'ai dû m'assurer que ma population vive bien, qu'ils aient à manger, des soins, des logements, etc.

J'ai été le dirigeant d'une société avec tous les dilemmes possibles et les tensions internes qui émergent inévitablement dans ce genre de situation. Mais j'étais avant tout l'administrateur d'un vaisseau spatial. L'entretien du Tiqqun m'incombait afin qu'il nous porte toujours plus loin, dans l'espoir d'atteindre notre nouvelle planète.

Nous avons voyagé de système en système. Nous étions parfois perdus, nous manquions parfois de ressources. Il fallait faire travailler les résidents du Tiqqun, produire des ressources afin de nous développer pour aller toujours plus loin.

En plus de mon rôle de gestionnaire du vaisseau et de ses résidents, qui présentait déjà son lot de difficultés, j'ai vite été confronté au manque de place à mesure que notre nombre grandissait.

Puis surtout, nous avons fait face à une toute autre menace, plus directe et existentielle pour notre survie.

Devais-je tout révéler à mon peuple, déjà angoissé d'avoir perdu définitivement la planète Terre ? Je ne saurais dire ce qui était le mieux. J'ai décidé de garder l'existence de cette ultime menace pour moi pendant un temps...

Ce périple aura duré 50 heures en temps terrestre, mais croyez-moi : il m'a paru durer des décennies entières. Autant de temps de doute, de remise en question, de gestion de ressources, de crises et de manque d'espace, avec pour seule boussole la survie de chaque individu.

Chacun d'eux était ma responsabilité, même lorsque je les envoyais sur des planètes inconnues, prenant tous les risques du monde. Nous devions en savoir plus sur notre environnement. Nous devions découvrir des secrets, des ressources.

Maintenant que ma mission est terminée, je repense à ce passage de ma vie avec nostalgie.

La galaxie est belle. Terriblement belle.

Des planètes variées et nombreuses dont aucune ne ressemble à une autre. Parfois, je contemplais le vide de l'espace en écoutant des musiques qui m'ont fait vivre une palette très large d'émotions. Elles ne m'ont jamais quitté et ont mené mon voyage vers un tout autre degré d'immersion.

Est-ce que je recommencerais ce voyage ?

Non.

Trop dangereux, et trop de poids ont été mis sur mes épaules.

En revanche, je souhaite à tous d'avoir à survivre à un tel voyage dans l'espace. On apprend à se découvrir soi-même avant même de découvrir le vaste univers qui nous entoure.

Pour tous ceux qui auront pris le temps de lire ces quelques notes, sachez que cette aventure aura été riche et qu'elle mérite d'être vécue au moins une fois.

J'ai beau avoir sauvé l'humanité, parfois, en me couchant, je souhaite revivre certains souvenirs et revoir les visages de ceux qui m'ont accompagné.

Il faut savoir rester les pieds sur Terre, mais aussi parfois accepter de lever les yeux vers les étoiles pour toucher du doigt les mille et une merveilles que l'existence propose.

Хорошая градостроительная стратегия, и даже с интересным сюжетом. Есть станция, в ней несколько отсеков, которые нужно будет застраивать. Колонисты неприхотливы, но едой и жильём лучше обеспечить. Добываем минералы на астероидах, перерабатываем в пищу или стройматериалы, с их помощью расширяем станцию чтобы добывать больше. Астероиды ограничены, время тоже, да и каждая постройка требует энергии, людей, и главное - места. Порой приходится выключать или разбирать некритичные производства, чтобы высвободить ресурсы на более важные цели. Нужно мыслить стратегически, чтобы организовать станцию во что-то более-менее жизнеспособное. Что и требуется от игры этого жанра)

I discovered the game through Guillaume David’s work on the soundtrack of Mechanicus, and I was also amazed by Ixion. The atmosphere of the game is incredible, and I believe most of that comes from the soundtrack itself. From the more uplifting tracks to the more tense ones, you really feel like you are in space, very, very far from home.

The gameplay loop is fun, and expanding the sectors really gives a sense of progression, especially when you start to specialize them. My only criticism is the stockpiles and how the logistics of materials work. Basically, when a ship delivers materials to the Tiqqun, the sector in which they are unloaded needs to have a stockpile for that specific material, even if it is only for unloading, instead of sending it to the intended stockpile in an adjacent sector, for example. This creates a major bottleneck for optimization, since in every sector you need to have stockpiles not for storage, but for access.

Another example of this is food: you need a stockpile for it in every sector instead of supplying all sectors from a single stockpile. The same applies to computer chips, which are not used in large quantities. In order to build something that requires, for example, 1 unit, you need a stockpile in the sector where the building is being constructed, instead of simply sending 1 unit from another sector.

Overall, I believe that making access to resources global instead of sectorized would simply be more fun, since most of the time I was micromanaging that access.

The game itself is a more linear experience when it comes to the story. You do feel some urgency if you spend too much time exploring certain areas, since there are debuffs for that, in fact, but for me that only added to the tension of the situation. You are the last hope of humanity, after all. That feeling was hard to avoid, since you become so immersed in upgrading the ship and exploring the systems you come across.

In conclusion, I enjoyed the game, and I really hope to see a sequel one day. The game is very unique!

Ixion is a game about choices, but most of the time it's not giving you real choices, and when it suddenly does, it actually hides the fact that you are facing is a choice.

The whole game you will feel the pain of wrong placement of roads and buildings in the tutorial (many reviews have written about those). The game is really punishing and for no good reason, and the writing isn't on par with, say, Sunless Sea, where you really can handle the pain for gems in terms of plot, writing, characters and events.

Первые несколько глав играть было довольно муторно - ресурсов хватает впритык и приходится очень долго ковыряться во всяких мелочах, которые на самом деле можно было реализовать более удобно. Например, почему нельзя задать определенное количество циклов работы заводов, как это сделано в Frostpunk? Постоянно приходится всё контролировать и обращать внимания на все детали, в какой-то момент ты просто забываешь, какая задача у тебя сейчас стоит, потому что пытаешься сделать всё, чтобы жители станции не самоубились.
Всё это проходит к последним главам. Ресурсов там так много, что хватило бы на две станции, на локальном уровне про станцию можно практически забыть. Задаешь направление научным кораблям, строишь несколько новых зданий, куришь бамбук. Последние главы проходятся на скорости х3.
В итоге, очень много времени уходит на первые главы, а последние две проходятся за несколько часов. Довольно странно, на мой взгляд. По хорошему, игре бы сделать пару улучшений качества жизни, чтобы было меньше возни вначале игры и увеличить сложность во второй ее части.

This game has a compelling storyline, great music, and some fun mechanics. I would overall suggest this game to anyone that likes city-builder/management type games. This game provides a twist in that your city is mobile, a massive station that you can (and must at times) move from planet to planet, while your mining ships, cargo ships, and science vessels perform jobs and tasks in whichever system you're in,
Overall, pros:
*Unique take on city-building, with a giant mobile space station that has six different districts and each district can be customized to suit a particular role (Industry, food, space, etc.)
*Good storyline (Amazing main antagonist)
*Great music
Cons:
*Becomes repetitive after a while, and you will feel like just rushing at the end to just end your current campaign.
*No real alternate build/focus than just all into research lab and science vessel first.
*Some of the 'bad' events are predictable, annoying, and show a lack of choice ("OH, all my science ship crew died again, you don't say?")
*The ending cinematic is lackluster and could have been longer. It would have been great to see some scenes based on the choices you made throughout the campaign.
*Performance: Most times the game ran well, but sometimes the game would run horrible with choppy framerate, caused by a possible memory leak that needs fixing.

Overall, I would say this game is worth getting and buying when on sale, but it lacks replay value for anything more than one campaign. A great way they could improve the game is to add a free-roam/endless mode (but only worthwhile with more content, as game can become boring really fast once you've unlocked the limited tech-tree and fully built each section). Also, I would not mind a fairly priced DLC that adds an alternate campaign where you can actually build proper military content and not just civilians in space (SPOILERS: The campaign does give off forced/unlreastic idiotic passivism vibes like the game Subnautica. There is a point where you will just wonder: "WHY can't we just build missiles and fire back already? Why are we being passive with a [SPOILERS] inhumane enemy?!")
