"Infectonator : Survivors" is a Randomized Permadeath Survival Simulator that combines RTS, Tower Defense, Roguelike, and Management-Simulation gameplay. The goal is to lead a group of survivors in a struggle to stay alive and find rescue in a zombie apocalyptic world. You must scavenge resources, build defenses, and find a way to survive in a game where death is permanent and levels are randomly generated.

The game sounds sounds interesting on paper but it's shallow and frustrating. I bought it with a 90% discount and still think it is not worth it.

The exploration minimap is poorly designed, with a color scheme that makes it hard to tell what has been explored. The music is extremely repetitive and becomes annoying quickly. Important mechanics are badly explained. The game does not clearly warn you that running back to HQ can randomly kill a character, and characters can also die during random events with zero player control. This kind of unavoidable RNG feels unfair, not challenging.

Enemy variety is very limited, including bosses. Buildings and maps feel empty and nearly identical, probably reused from a very small set. The difference between scouting and exploring is unclear outside of seeing further, so there is no meaningful decision involved. Location events are few and repetitive, leading to the same outcomes over and over. On top of that, the game is unstable, in about six hours of playtime, I had six crashes. Overall, the game feels unfinished and not worth playing, even at a deep discount.

Truly is a good strategy game, I really enjoy each campaign mode because you start and It seems difficult to survive, but three campaings later you lear how to end in less than 9 days the campaign.

I find the next problems:

- The Survival Mode is extremely boring and difficult cause the loot that zeds give you is only ammo and you start only with the things of the team that you select. It is incredible difficult to obtain new weapons or materias to upgrade your team.

I know that the game has his years and It is actually imposible to fix the thing with the loot in Survival Mode but If they change that I thing the game is going to have a incredible replayability.

Tuve el privilegio de jugar esta obra de arte de juego cuando estaba en la pagina "Juegos de zombies - Armos games" o en muchas otras, Veo varios comentarios de gente molesta comentando que no entienden la mecanica del juego o que es muy dificil. Si no entiendes como se juega "Infectonator survivors" o se te complica demasiado, es porque sensillamente te falta la mitad del cerebro. La mecanica es tan simple como colocar a los supervivientes correctamente y dejar que disparen. Llevo jugando este juego desde flash juegos en 2010, desde sus alphas hasta versión final en steam. Y es igual de facil y adictivo. Cada ciudad es aleatoria y te permite crear combinaciones casi infinitas. Ya que cada personaje tiene habilidades unicas y divertidas que hacen muy interesante y entretenida las partidas, por lo que no te aburridas. Es un apocalipsis zombi:Divertido, rapido, simple y desafiante.
¿Como es la experiencia? Es como si jugaras una versión super simplificada de Proyect zombie, mas facil de entender pero mucho mas divertida. O como si jugadas un juego roguelike o de rol pero ambientado en un apocalipsis. Ademas el idioma en ingles no es ningun problema, ya que hay muy pocos dialogos y muy simples de entender. Si quieres:
-Rescatar supervivientes
-Sobrevivir a hordas de zombies
-Conseguir comida y armas
-Vencer a zombies bosses
-Mejorar la habilidad de tus personajes
-Adminstrar recursos
-Tomar desiciones
-Enfrentarte a supervivientes enemigos (Manejados por IA)
-Explorar ciudades infestadas y apocalipticas
-Desbloquear habilidades
-Crear estrategias y comandar a tu equipo de supervientes.

En resumen si quieres sentir el realismo de un verdadero apocalipsis zombie (Pero de forma rapida, muy facil de aprender no como proyect zombie que es muy tecnico) y ademas divertirte en el camino...
Este es tu juego!! <3
Nota: Les recomiendo que pongan a sus supervivientes a cosechar comida y a cocinar, de esta forma se les facilitara bastante el juego y no se les moriran los supervivientes los primeros dias :D.

As others have said the RNG is just too extreme, e.g. even early on you can get a random boss that slaughters your entire team in seconds or an area with humans attacking you instead of zombies, again wiping your entire team in seconds, and no warning of either situation.
Play Infectonator 3 instead, you play as the zombies instead but it's way more fun and there's much less extreme impact from the game's randomness.

It is stable and experienced zero crashes and glitches during my full playthrough. If you have issues, try lowering the screen resolution. It is a flash game after all, it is not made to be a high-end technology. As a mobile game port, it probably was not made with the HD resolutions in mind. FYI, I used 568x320.

The goal in the game is to find gas and parts to escape the city. It comes down to following "Quest" markers on the map until someone gives you a part. After getting the parts and crafting them into the car the game ends.

The overall gameplay comes down to looting resource piles and having your dudes equipped with high-damage guns to make it easier. The end game gear seems to be about equipping everyone with Desert Eagles as they kill enemies with so few shots you start gaining ammo when killing enemies, trivializing the ammo scarcity aspect.

The UI is not the best and you can easily die by clicking a wrong target. You can reduce the roguelite permadeath aspect by saving your good save files separately (you need to disable Steam cloud for it to work with minimal issues). You really feel the stiffness of the original touch screen controls all the time.

Frankly, the low-fatigue events (or the whole fatigue system) randomly killing your survivors does not add any fun to the game. I did manage to sidestep the issue by brute-forcing the RNG by closing the game, replacing the save file with a good one and trying again until no deaths happened.

The survivors are practically identical besides the starting stats and their unique perks IF THEY HAVE ONE. The ones that matter have perks involving melee or ranged attacks or being able to reload while moving. Everything else seemed mostly ineffectual.

A pro tip: an easy way to get the Wave 77 Survival achievement is to stand in the bottom right corner of the map and keep clicking on the Next Wave swirly thing until you are there. Enemies rarely spawn there for some reason and after the Zs cap at 50, they won't spawn at all anymore.

They’ve had nearly 10 years to fix this game, and chose not to.

The most frustrating mechanic is the game suddenly killing a member of your party without warning. Instead of giving you a playable ambush encounter, it just declares by text that a character is dead, with no chance to respond. It feels completely arbitrary and undermines everything you build.

Every time I come back to this game, I’m reminded why I stop playing: crashes, glitches, and especially this random “death lottery” that destroys any sense of progress. Sometimes quitting quickly can undo it, but often the game repeats the death no matter what, even changing who it targets.

This isn’t Oregon Trail — the whole point is to protect and develop your characters. But here, the game makes all that effort meaningless at the drop of a hat.

It’s the one major flaw that should have been addressed long ago, and it never was. As someone who loved the original Infectonator games, it’s disappointing to see such a great concept abandoned with so little care.

Artstyles cute and well done, the base of the gameplay is good but past that it just falls apart. A lot of unfinished stuff in the game to the point that even the Quit screen doesn't have an actual text and just says "null". Game's been abandoned for a decade and is full of bugs like the 9000 kills achievements not working, a ton of softlocks, such as when meeting new characters when exploring. Exploring is a monotonous grind and scouting is near useless and you'll never be doing it unless the game forces you into one through RNG. Concept of scouting missions is cool but soured by how badly done RNG events are done and the illusion of free choice you have with it. Some events straight up kill a character without a second chance regardless of their weapons, equipment or stats.

Only worth it if you can get it on its 90% sale and even then you'll still be disappointed

This game is really fun, and once you get the hang of it can be really rewarding. The 2 things holding it back, and should really give you pause. There are some random events that will just flat out kill a character, which is incredibly unfair. The second is this game crashes, and often. In the last week I have played it for about 5 hours, and I have had 3 crashes -- All of them resulted in lost progress.

I would only consider it if you can get it on sale, and even then if you are comfortable losing a bunch of progress randomly and out of your control. The developer seems to no longer support it and I can't recommend it in this current state.

I would love to play this exact game - that wasn't poorly ported mobile trash.
The touch-based controls just aren't conducive to fun play when you have access to a mouse and keyboard.
If you could single key search and control individual characters with WASD, this game would be great, but it's just frustrating and slow as it is. Even if the gameplay loop is good, the controls are too bad to have fun.

Quem gosta de jogos de zumbi 2D com certeza vai gostar deste aqui - mas vai passar muita raiva no início. Nele você precisa gerenciar uma equipe, então suas decisões são em nível macro, não precisando ordenar um ataque específico, mas pode ser feito controlando a posição de cada personagem no mapa. Combinar personagens de ataque físico e aqueles usando armas de fogo em uma equipe ajuda a economizar munição (a "moeda" do jogo).

Enfim, vale a pena tentar!

Unfortunately the gameplay is eclipsed by unfair choice events that can kill one random member from your team without any chance to prevent it from happening, leaving your squad weaker to future explorations. Finally, it’s worth mentioning the lack of content inside the game after you complete a couple of runs. Each run has the same objective and there is no real progression inside the game story. Because of this, the game's replayability is limited to almost nonexistent.

[h3] Art and visuals [/h3]
This game has an interesting pixel art style with many urban and environmental assets making each explorable zone immersive. Nevertheless, after some time the scenarios become repetitive and they start to feel recycled rather than fresh or dynamic. There isn’t much variety in the designs of the zombies. The characters’ designs are great and some of them are even inspired by characters from other games like the cast from Left 4 Dead, YouTube personalities, etc.

[h3] Music and Sound Effects [/h3]
The soundtrack is catchy and features a distinctive retro style with synth arrangements clearly inspired in old arcade games. The sound effects are well made but also very limited due to the lack of sound cues to indicate the presence of zombies inside of the buildings or in the exterior.

I only bought this game despite the reviews because it was on a massive discount and that it had the L4D survivors in it. I didn't know it also had YouTuber cameos and a blatant Lollipop Chainsaw reference too, so that's a bonus.

As for the game, I quite liked it. It's right up my alley, and while it was rough at first I quickly got used to how things work. Only problem is that this game clearly needed way more time in the oven than it had, riddled with various bugs and just outright incomplete content, and there's no better example of this than the descriptions of items when buying from the Wandering Merchant just saying "Description goes here."
The RNG can be so demoralizing too, the numerous oftentimes unavoidable ambushes really demotivates you from reaching the farther parts of the map even with max stamina upgrades.
At least it has mod support, I guess? I haven't ran into any myself though.
I do genuinely like this game though. I've already put it 20 hours into this game 2-3 days after buying. I just hope that the devs could come back to this one day and give this crude gemstone the polishing it deserved.

Hab dann kurz vor Ende einen Bug, zu dem ich nur einen Forumseintrag mit genau der gleichen Beschreibung finde und dem Kommentar, dass das wohl nicht mehr behoben wird, der Forumsthread ist von 2016.

Example I had cleared path of 4 sectors to the base. Seems simple enough to return to base? Yeah... right... game decides tp throw TWO ambushes, wasting two more rations and then one the last move ONTO base square it adds another ''event'' which kills one from team due to ''fatique''....
I would slap those who made this barely playable cheating mess which doesnt follow its own rules.... Not even talking about minor gripes. Like lack of pause and other basic level QoL features....

Addictive! Anyone who grew up playing flash games will definitely enjoy. Players be warned, though - the crashing problem is real. After playing for about 1-2 hours, the game will crash and you wouldn't be able to do anything. Progress is saved routinely, fortunately. Nevertheless, still a really good game you can finish in under 10 hours

I could recommend it on sale for fans of Zombies, roguelikes, and RTS. It had some rough edges and a learning curve but a good amount of content and a rewarding feeling if you want to spend the time it takes to progress. If you like turn-based games I would also suggest Dead Age.

I hate that I like this game. It is a bit unbalanced, grindy, punishes you unfairly, and has game-breaking bugs that can sabotage your run. More than once I wanted to leave a bad review, but then I looked at the amount of hours I spent playing and realized it would be dishonest to say I didn't have some fun.

It's not a bad game, just not as good as it could be. I leave a good review for the game itself, but I don't recommend buying it now since it's no longer maintained and there are many better options.

Tremendo juegazo… a medias.
Lo conozco desde mi infancia, cuando solía estar en Armor Games junto con otros juegos del creador como Infectonator o Relic Of War (este último, no está en Steam ni en ningún otro lado). Es divertido, aún más con los perks y grupos de survivals que vas desbloqueando con tickets tras jugar un par de partidas que permiten customizar la partida.
PERO, al ser un juego viejo y sin soporte, hay MUCHÍSIMOS bugs que pueden romper tu partida. El más común y molesto es cuando tu partida queda inútil sin poder escapar de la ciudad para terminar el juego (si quieres arreglarlo, hay videos de YT sobre eso). Además de que, después de probar todo el contenido (no es muy extenso), todo se torna repetitivo y cansado, no es muy re jugable que digamos.
Yo lo recomiendo, pues para mí es un clásico barato que divierte al probarlo por primera vez para descubrir todas las armas y a todos los supervivientes, tiene un estilo gracioso y es difícil en partes, pero es de esos juegos que uno juega una vez, lo abandona y se olvida por mucho para después de un buen tiempo recordar que existe y re jugarlo como la primera vez.

Para o valor dele o jogo é muito bom, porém o jogo poderia ser muito melhor se tivesse mais recursos de CURA e EQUIPAMENTOS a sensação que eu tive ao jogar esse jogo por essas 5 horas é que eu não conseguia EVOLUIR, eu não encontrei EQUIPAMENTOS (Armas, armaduras, granadas e etc...) os personagens tem apenas uma passiva e não parecem que vão ficar muito fortes, falta recompensas mais interessantes para o jogador ao terminar de explorar as áreas, PORÉM... como eu disse para o valor do jogo o jogo está muito bom =)

На самом деле разочарован, игра запомнилась совершенно другой. Думал: лутаемся, чиним машину, едем в другой город с прокаченными персами и так по кругу. Но по итогу мы за 30 дней должны собрать отмеченные на карте детали и уехать. Всё.

У нас есть карта, а в середине расположена наша база. Ищем детали/припасы/оружие. На самой базе можно сделать покушать, скрафтить оружие или изучить новую технологию, что не имеет особого смысла, так как игра и без них проходится закрытыми глазами

Сами локации, события, прокачка, оружие, враги и геймплей в целом до боли однообразные и примитивные. Всего спустя час (если не меньше) события начинают повторяться, а виды оружия и зомби можно пересчитать по пальцам. Геймплей это просто направлять балванчиков на позиции правой кнопкой, и иногда лутать всё той же правой кнопкой разные места

Если играть не больше 2 часов, то наверно можно и потерпеть, а так игру крайне не рекомендую

J'aimerais recommander ce jeu mais quand la version flash web a une meilleura boucle de gameplay et que tu n'as pas la possibilité de jouer à l'ancienne version plutôt que la campagne ou le mode sans fin que le jeu propose, bah c'est dommage quoi :(, le jeu en lui même est sympa quoi que, plutôt simple.

Surtout qu'il n'y a rien qui semble pouvoir arrêter une équipe de survivant bien entraînée et équipée de mitraillettes...
Les interactions avec les évent aléatoires répétitifs sont (pour la moitié) trop risquées pour les maigres possibles récompenses et l'autre moitié sont complètement bénéfiques sans aucun réel risque...

La campagne se résume à des fetch quests permanentes et le mode sans fin à une très lente mise à mort.

Je voulais aimer ce jeu, vraiment, mais j'y arrive pas, plus j'essaie et moins je le supporte :/

This game truly is getting undeserved hate and I dislike how the developers just...forgot it.

Infectonator is an enjoyable game, amazing pixel art with a bunch of unique scenarios and characters that are made by Toge can be found on rescue quests in expeditions which you should be quick for of course, you can do alot of things while exploring that you can either loot everything there is and run or stay there to genocide any zombies if planning for any further travelling with the same route you were at the expedition with a fun tower defense like scouting to see the danger status of that place you're about to explore.

Some zombies may be too overpowered which may not be good if there haven't been alot of progress especially when you might have pistols only, you could say the repetitiveness is kind of alright since it's a replayable game anyway which is kind of nice because if it weren't to be randomised we would be doing the same thing over and over and it'd be excessively boring.

Overall it's a decent game. There's one progress-defying bug which is if you already explored an area then went to the merchant to retrieve their package from their dying courier and is marked on the same place you explored, you can find the dying courier which is supposed to have an exclamation mark and if you don't find it above them...yeah consider it game over for you and use up all your days.

Tip: Always use the scientist for searching, especially when he's the fastest at searching and has a bigger chance of finding items that can be used for the workshop ^^

4399玩过同系列来入正，结果第一天就绷不住了，队里点满射击的警察和快满了的记者没过事件愣是让工人被事件杀了，甚至一点容错都没有直接原地猝死。制作组是不是觉得这种突发事件很有意思能增加不确定性，什么时候你妈妈好好的走在路上也猝死一下啊？

搞明白玩法後意外挺來勁的遊戲，雖然很遺憾沒有中文看不懂一些劇情，但其實這個遊戲主線和目標都挺單純的，看不懂劇情不太影響遊戲體驗，只要知道就是一夥人車開到一半壞了所以不得不在充滿喪屍的城鎮暫時落腳，一邊想辦法找其修車的零件一邊順手救援一下其他倖存者並在最後修好車後開車離開就完結了，沒有什麼複雜的劇情以及反轉，雖然遊戲模式多少有點單調，但作為一個興起時可以殺時間的小遊戲來說已經還算不錯了──前提是不是原價買的，像我是打九折時幾乎是白送的價格買的，就花了不到十九塊台幣，講真的這個小遊戲的遊玩性以我購入的價格來說沒什麼可挑剔的，原價買的話可能還不太划得來。
順道說一下遊玩的小訣竅好了：
首先，每日生存需要消耗的補給和一般喪屍小遊戲不同，不可能純靠撿的來維持，而是得要在基地種田烹飪來維持──是的，只有食材還不夠，還要經過烹調才可以成為每日被消耗的食料，這點很重要，所以食材田和烹調那兩項的升級要注意一下。
再來是最開始有標任務的那幾個地點是主線、也就是要修好車的關鍵道具所在的地方，也因此目標明確地朝那邊趕去，四個地點的任務都完成了又收集構材料後修好車就能愉快通關了──任務也不難，就分幾種，要某種特地物資後直接給東西的、拿到需要的物資後作為交換告訴主角群他們需要的關鍵材料在哪個城市的、完成一個老頭的任務去其他地方把他需要的箱子帶回來後做為報酬給的，還有最簡單的就是直接在地圖中的某個地方找到就可以直接拿到的，會碰見哪個任務似乎是隨機的，而且很可能有重複，就看運氣了。
基本上遊戲過程就是打喪屍搜刮物資回家手搓食材燉煮料理或是製造槍械修理車輛，不算精細，隨機的事件和地圖有，但隨機得有限，熟悉之後甚至有些單調，但是偶爾想起來時打開來玩一兩把還是挺開心的，單純用滑鼠就能夠玩，操作簡便這點是個優點，偶爾想玩點遊戲打發時間但一時間又不知道要玩什麼時可以玩一下的休閒遊戲。

Most characters can't reload while moving.
Manual reloading before tackling a boss is a good move!
