I got this because one of my friends is a master of hype and also I threw up trying to play the ps5 VR game set in this same world. It was very good. Hard to say much more because it’s an adventure game and I adventured. No crazy mechanics or novelty really, just a good story and great visuals.

Seriously amazing game, I wish it were never turned into a series. Do yourself a favor and view it as a stand alone adventure so the serialization doesn't have the chance to ruin it for you.

В игре, почти все НПС темнокожие. Белые парни или антагонисты, или алкаши, или цветочки, что прячутся за спинами больших и сильных женщин, серьёзно?). ладно, к делу: механика перекатов кривая, стрельба тоже, траектория полета отсутствует. возможности сохраниться, в любой момент отсутствует. ресурсы - хлам, по большей части. диалоги ни на что не влияют, варианты ответов одни и те же, почти всегда ничего не решают (за 30 часов, лишь раз увидел что есть разница, и то, убить или не убить и всё, один раз, за всю игру). задания - постоянно тебя гонят из одного конца карты в другой, исследуя мир хочешь-не хочешь. Есть быстрое перемещение, и на этом спасибо. вердикт - я бы её не перепроходил. смысл? что-то поменяется? пройти иначе нельзя. концовка одна и та же будет.

The world is so beautiful and unique, mixing nature with these incredible machines. Aloy is such an amazing and strong protagonist, and her journey to discover her past is so captivating.

The combat is fun, but it’s the mystery of the world that really hooked me. It’s a masterpiece that manages to be both epic and emotional at the same time. If you love exploring stunning landscapes and a great story, you have to play this game.

Мир и атмосфера
Атмосфера — одна из сильнейших сторон игры. Музыка отлично дополняет путешествия по горам, лесам и руинам старого мира. Саундтрек работает как тихий проводник: иногда он почти незаметен, а иногда усиливает ощущение тайны и древности происходящего.
Сам мир выглядит красиво, но при внимательном рассмотрении он немного «топорный». Некоторые элементы открытого мира ощущаются стандартными для игр того времени и не всегда создают ощущение живой экосистемы.
Сюжет и персонажи
История постепенно раскрывает тайну мира и прошлого цивилизации. Не вся сюжетная линия одинаково сильная, но есть моменты, которые действительно цепляют.
Особенно хорошо показан рост главной героини — Aloy. От изгнанницы до сильного и уверенного персонажа. Это развитие ощущается естественно и делает путешествие более личным.
Геймплей
Бои с машинами — главная механика игры. Охота, ловушки, слабые точки, тактика — всё это делает сражения интересными. В своё время это было довольно уникально, хотя со временем некоторые элементы стали повторяться.
Дополнительные миссии оказались слабее основной истории. Многие из них выглядят типично для open-world игр и не дают такого же уровня вовлечения.
DLC
Дополнение The Frozen Wilds получилось удачным.
Новая территория, более сложные машины и интересный сюжет делают его хорошим завершением истории. Оно ощущается как концентрированная версия основной игры: меньше лишнего, больше вызова.
Итог
Если оценивать игру сегодня, в 2026 году, она уже не кажется настолько революционной. Многие идеи развили другие проекты, а некоторые механики устарели.
Но если говорить о личных впечатлениях, то это всё ещё очень сильное приключение, которое запоминается атмосферой, музыкой и историей главной героини.
Оценка: 10/10 — за личные впечатления и эмоции, даже если объективно игра уже не такая уникальная, как раньше.

The game looks amazing and runs good on SD with custom mid-high settings (capped 45fps with 90hz, sometimes it drops to 35fps). After few hours the game gets boring and repetitive, quests and stuff you're getting are not rewarding. Side collectibles are not worth the time to look for them unless you're achievement hunter. Overall gameplay and bow shooting is quite fun, my rating for this game is 7.5/10. Not gonna try to go through the game at one sit cuz I'll probably fall asleep.

The strength of this game is the quality of the environment art, it really is the kind of game where sometimes you just stop to admire the view and slow walk just to take it all in; definitely not to admire the protagonists' behind since all that has been kept safely away from the misogynistic gaze of all the horrible chuds that happen to constitute 80+ % of its players.

The base gameplay loop is also pretty high up there, with combat being fun with the only downside being in forcing you to remember what to target on each of the harder enemies, or to pause and check the in-game notes which breaks the action. Sometimes the design isn't super clear and the action too fast to use the analysis on the enemy when you're already under attack. But once you get that right and have picked a decent, flexible set of weapons combat goes pretty smoothly and is a blast. Normal difficulty mode might be a bit too easy though and lets you slide by without even caring too much about weak points or appropriate use of elemental damage.

The story is straightforward post-apocalyptic science fiction, leaning towards an environment that's become basically void of signs of civilization except for the occasional ruin, as opposed to a run-down urban environment. It's told in an interesting way, even with the limitations of a lot of details about the story, motivations, and setting being relegated to the pieces that you optionally collect throughout the world.

The writing has been neutered to the point of being harmless in a very bad way, not quite as bad as something like Starfield, but still pretty bad. There's no edge anywhere in the game, it plays everything very safe, so safe that you don't really care about any of it. The game is very much a product of the times, with jarring diversity and gender quotas being unrealistic to the point of being comical, but hey they do have the excuse of the "apocalypse" in the game taking place a few decades from present day, so who knows, right?

Even with the writing being as wooden as it is, and the distracting 'diversity' that was forced throughout, the game overall still manages to tell its story reasonably well, and is fun to play in the meantime, even if it has some trouble remaining fun and interesting if you go for 100% completion. It's discounted frequently, but I'd say it's worth it even for its 'regular' price of $50 in 2026.

♥♥♥♥ ass optimization for PC. Very bad port by Playstation.
My gpu is recommended gpu mentioned for this game, cpu & ram is minimum needed as mentioned in required specs.

Still my game is laggy as ♥♥♥♥ with stutters and what no. I tried to play in 720p from 1080p and even went till 720p low gfx. But no its ♥♥♥♥ and still there are issues like insane stuttering in crowded places and enemies not spawning and randomly spawning once I am in the area. Its just ♥♥♥♥, very bad 10 hrs in.

Only buy this game if you have a beefy PC. I will wait till I upgrade my specs in college to try to play this game again. Peace out.

P.S: Games needing almost similar specs like GoW, Days Gone ran smooth in mid-high gfx in my PC.

43 Million Euros...? If you want to see what that gets you, in the gaming industry, look no further. This is a spectacular game, narrative strong story and what a story. Move aside Lara, theres a new player in town and her names is Aloy.

So, to the game itself. Graphics; mind blowing,, if you have the spec to run this game ultra, its a game that will stop you in your tracks as the scenery and lighting whack your eyes balls like a ping pong ball. Combat is visceral, engaging and at higher levels makes you feel like a boss, girl boss :).
So, if you like narrative strong games, such as Halflife or the latest Tomb Raiders, look no further. If you like stunning visuals, again look no further. Rewarding combat and exploration? This game has it in spades. Ohh and the animations, mocap is phenomenal and obviously where a a ton of the money went from the budget of this amazing game.

Now finally a negative. This game is a little heavy handed with a geopolitical messaging, all males are idiots, corrupt, amoral, whereas every woman is virtuous, moral, a badass boss, pointing out males failings.. Its a little sickening to watch the cutscenes over a 30-40 hours playthrough. That said, it only tarnishes a little of the overall brilliance and execution of this game but once you see it is difficult to un-see it. Like a annoying smudge at the corner of a renaissance master piece, its there and you know its there but does it detract from the overall enjoyment ? Answers on a post card, to the usual address. :)

9.8 out of 10. go and enjoy.

p.s. If there was a computer game that should be made into a movie franchise, this is it and Kit Harrington's missus (Rose Leslie) is , "IS" Aloy. Again now over Lara Croft. :)

Horizon Zero Dawn is an awesome game, I played this game during a school-studying time crunch where I can only spare the hours to play the game on easy and I still enjoyed it a lot. Practically, this game is a machine (monster) hunter game with a cray cray AI main quest line that you do not have to pay attention at all and can just play the side quests to hunt down the machines and still have fun! The world building in this game to learn the events of Earth before your player character Aloy came to be by playing through the main quest is great. The main antagonists of this game are the generic do bad things because you get power type. Overall, a solid game to experience playing. The game's formula helped to lead to more and more gaming fans and game developers to respect the female lead in the mainstream triple A game production line that is today. I wish that more female main characters were written as well as Aloy

세계관 독특하고 몹들도 신기한 건 맞는데...그냥 게임 자체가 좀 부족함.
전투도 창은 스킬도 좋은 거 없고 도대체 왜 전투 옵션으로 있는 건지 알 수가 없을 정도로 유기함.
그래서 그런지 전투가 다 똑같은 매커니즘이라 지루함.
스킬 중에 진짜 쓸모없는 거 많음. 레벨을 올릴 이유가 35렙 정도 넘으면 거의 없음.
은신 스킬트리가 뭐가 많은데 정작 은신 플레이 설계가 똥같이 쓰레기임.
은신 플레이 절대 못하는 게임 설계인데 은신 스킬 트리만 드럽게 많음. 걍 게임 디자인이 미흡함.
보상도 진짜 누가 이딴 식으로 설계했는지 사이드퀘 보상이 뭐 죄다 보상상자 하나 주는데 까보면 내용물이 다 똑같고 보상이 크지도 않음. 사이드 하나 미는데 30분~ 1시간 쓴다고 했을 때 보상이 그냥 최저시급도 못 받는 그런 느낌.
필드도 맵디자인 이쁘게 해놨는데 돌아다닐 의미가 없음. 탐험의 재미..? 그런 게 생길 수가 없는 보상이나 탐색 시스템임.

질려서 삭제했다가 엔딩은 봐야겠다 싶어서 걍 메인만 쭉 밀고 끝냄. 웬만하면 모든 사이드 다 하고 싹싹김치 하는 편인데 얘는 도저히 못 하겠음. 재밌다고 추천하는 사람 많아서 사서 했는데 솔직히 모르겠음. 호포웨는 안 할듯함.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a beautiful game, despite its flaws. The environmental storytelling is truly sublime and I must applaud the devs for their work in creating such a majestic world. It's a world that feels so familiar but for much of the first half of the game, I find myself asking how such a civilization came to be, so primitive yet so close to very clearly more advanced technology. The world itself is incredibly immersive, ranging from sun scorched deserts to the icy wilderness to the ruins of a bygone era.

The overarching narrative starts off pretty well, pushed by the mystery behind the world. Aloy is a decent enough protagonist, though generally acts as a narrative device with few flaws. Sadly, majority of side characters are not too likable. Most of the men are written as bumbling idiots/weak-willed passengers to the story and other characters, despite being on Aloy's side, come across as unlikable. Ultimately, there's only like 2, maybe 3 characters besides Aloy that actually drive the plot forward. I would say the second half of the main story is not as good as the first but it was cool to see it through to the end. As a side note, by the story's end if you think about how many people Aloy has killed with pretty much no remorse, she must be a grade A psychopath. But I suppose that's just a lot of RPG video games, when you have to kill a bunch of baddies.

Gameplay-wise, I enjoyed it quite a lot. The biggest gripe most people have with the game is the inventory management part, which definitely annoyed me a lot and was very immersion-breaking (when crafting more ammo mid-combat). Second playthrough, I got a quick mod to increase inventory size - it's well worth it and basically solved all gameplay complaints. Aloy doesn't get a very big arsenal, but the tools she has all fill a pretty nice niche and it is quite satisfying to use the right tool for the right job.

The soundtrack was very relaxing and had a great main theme. Reminded me a bit of the Kenshi main menu theme for some reason. Overall, I'd give this a solid 7.5/10, a great game albeit let down by the mostly lackluster characters.

A história do mundo é extremamente interessante. A todo momento queria saber mais sobre o passado e sobre as máquinas. A ambientação é única e muito bem construída. Tem algo especial em ficar agachado em uma moita enquanto ouve o ressoar dos passos das máquinas passando perto, principalmente das máquinas enormes como Pescoções.

A protagonista, Aloy, é bastante carismática e rapidamente me conquistou. Tem uma personalidade clara e definida que fica evidente nas missões e pequenos diálogos. Um detalhe interessante, é que durante a exploração a Aloy reagirá ao ambiente e as situações, tendo falas específicas ao chover, se molhar em um rio, alertar adversários, realizar abates silenciosos entre outros. Esses pequenos momentos me fizeram me aproximar da personagem e realmente me sentir imerso no mundo.

O combate é sensacional. Extremamente único e satisfatório. Sua progressão é feita com base em armas desbloqueadas (cada uma com um tipo único de munição) e principalmente no conhecimento do jogador sobre as máquinas. Com o tempo, você descobre seu modo pessoal e eficiente de lidar com cada máquina, testando diferentes armas de acordo com seu gosto e as peculiaridades de cada inimigo. Ao final do jogo, esquivar de vários ataques de uma vez e acertar máquinas em pleno movimento se torna costumeiro. A sensação de destruir um "monstro" enorme que te dava problemas no início com umas 3 flechas bem colocadas é absurda.

O jogo possui várias atividades secundárias e, tirando as de coleta, faz o possível para que não sejam repetitivas e tenham diferentes interações e construções. São também bem espaçadas.

Porém, nem tudo são flores. Acredito que os diálogos durante o jogo poderiam ser melhor escritos. Também achei a dublagem bem irregular. Certos personagens são dublados maravilhosamente bem (especialmente na dlc) e outros parecem muito forçados. Em várias vezes o nome de um lugar ou pessoa é pronunciado de formas diferentes durante uma mesma conversa, No geral, isso não afeta tanto a experiência, mas é claro quando acontece.

Em relação a gameplay, achei o sistema de trajes meio desnecessário. De fato os bônus são úteis, mas passei toda a minha gameplay com o traje de stealth, trocando para uma roupa anti-corrupção em poucas ocasiões e, perto do fim da história, consegui uma armadura extremamente superior a qualquer outra.

Por fim, tenho a reclamar do sistema de inventário. Durante a progressão, é possível aumentar o espaço de armazenamento, mas o processo é chato e pode ser demorado. No fim da minha jornada, já ignorava inimigos caídos e loots espalhados, pois não tinha mais utilidade para eles e nem espaço para guardá-los. Isso aconteceu por volta das 3 últimas missões principais e por toda a dlc.

Gastei 45h para a história principal e missões secundárias e por volta de 8h para toda a dlc. Deixei apenas alguns colecionáveis para trás.

No geral, é um jogo excelente e único. Estou ansioso para jogar a sequência.

Eight years. It took me 8 years to complete all of the achievements and thoroughly enjoy this game. I don't often take this position, but ultra hard is the way that this masterpiece is intended to be played. The machines hit brutally hard as they're intended to. In my new game+ playthrough I skipped a lot of the optional content 1) to finish, 2) I was max leveled, and 3) to experience the story in a compressed narrative. I've always liked Aloy, Ash Burch brings empathy, snark, and pluckiness to the character that made her very relatable in this far flung future tale - I, at least, was rooting for Aloy instead of being annoyed at the exposition. Her journey was at time maudlin, at times touching, and generally engaging. There are peeks at the Dutch culture that crafted this magnificent experience, different from my own, that added an otherworldliness. A foreign perspective at once a bit alien and encompassing. Obviously, I quite enjoyed the sojourn out of the Sacred Lands into the quest of discovery.

I have been trying to clear my gaming backlog recently, and trying to write reviews for the games as well: So here we are with Horizon Zero Dawn.

This game has a very dystopian feel and quality to it with its futuristic outlook on humanity and the world, yet the games feel very peaceful with how much nature has reclaimed itself from technology at the same time.

As for my thoughts of this game's gameplay... I have actually yet to finish this game as of this review... BUT I have come far enough to get a overall picture and feel for Horizon Zero Dawn.

While I don't like writing a review to an unfinished game, I do have the clarity of never rushing through story like most gamers do, so in this sense I can give more details pros and cons as a whole.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a very good game in its own story telling and lore of what the future would look like if science and technology went too far, and how the human hubris can be our own downfall.

Its a bit like the current AI conondrum we are having at the moment in 2026. Are we taking it too far already?

Similary this is a bit what this game is about, the downfall of humanity and surviving with machines that has gone rogue.

The game does an excellent job making the machines feel dangerous and scary, and the combat and stealth is satisfying too. Story as I've touched on before is excellent too!

I would say my main complaint with this game is how saving the game works. Its only in fireplaces you can save the game at, and that can be very frustrating if you accidentally die when you got good loot or did a lot of progress... Then something stupid happens and you lose all your progress from a defeat.

I would also say the open world while it feels right for a dystopian setting with nature at its core, the game does suffer from a lack of emptiness with how the world lacks more things to do, and the NPCs are a bit lackluster.

Overall though, I say this game is a strong 7,5 out of 10 in its execution. Its a great game worth playing!

**I played with almost all the settings on ULTRA with my Steam Deck without any issue. Granted that I'm the "weird" type of gamer that enjoys 30fps anyday over the overhyped 60fps.

Перепрошёл спустя три года. Уже не помню, когда в последний раз испытывал то чувство, когда буквально весь день залипаешь в игру и всю неделю для тебя нет ничего важней, чем уничтожать гигантские машины и наслаждаться красивейшим миром Хорайзона.

Сюжет. Игра имеет глубоко-прописанный лор и очень детализированный мир. Много поселений, племён, много конфликтов между ними, противоречий которые пытается решить главная героиня – Элой, разгадывая загадку человечества и своего появления. Немало интересных дополнительных историй, руин прошлой цивилизации, изучение которых погружает в атмосферу постапокалипса.

Единственное, что мне не особо зашло – повествование сюжета во второй половине игры. Если в начале – эпичные, красивые, увлекательные катсцены, то ближе к концу - обычные пробежки по заброшенным коридорным локациям, где большая часть лора раскрывается в одинаковых скучных голограммах (иногда даже в записках). Да, это не то, чтобы плохо, но моя прокрастинация порой брала верх, и я терял суть повествования. Думаю, это была основная проблема, почему за три года я почти полнотью забыл сюжет Хорайзона.

Геймплей приятный. Знакомит игрока с новыми врагами, новым оружием и сюжетом плавно, боёвка идеально сбалансированна, но присутствуют и механики, которые я совсем не использовал. Однако ближе к концу мне достаточно надоело по полчаса убивать гигантских громоземов и буревестников и я решил забить на сайтквесты, тк к сожалению большинство из них однотипные: пройди по следам, найди что-то, убей толпу машин/врагов, получи награду.

Визуал очень классный. Огромное природное разнообразие: снежные горы, пустыни, тундра, тайга, саванны, тропики, реки, озёра, пещеры и руины. Прекрасно проработанны города, деревни, жители, животные, машины и в целом всё окружение. Всё это безумно интересно исследовать и останавливаться, чтобы лишний раз сделать красивый скрин.

7分，最大的优势是主线剧情，大背景剧情上乘，一步步解开这个世界谜题的过程非常有驱动力，给人以类似于初见深海迷航那种震撼。

不过情节的表现欠佳，站桩对话过多，人物动作僵硬，过场欠缺表现力，演出缺乏张力，支线剧情演出更是单薄。

罐头游戏玩法很容易疲劳，并且也不是类似对马岛这样出色的罐头，地图虽大但意义一般，大部分地方就跑图一遍过，没有探索的意义，特殊怪掉的垃圾没有特别去找的动机，主线不打的怪基本是生脸。清理堕落区和营地，以及一些支线基本毫无意义通马桶，也没有什么好的奖励，只给些垃圾，坩埚给的超控在解锁坐骑和经常出现的怪之后也没有什么作用了。

经验提升边际严重，过主线再零碎一两个支线基本就能带来足够过剧情的装备和技能水平。打支线大多纯粹是为了刷经验开技能。

还有一个一二代的通病，所有怪都是敌对，只要碰到就开打，地图上怪还塞的贼满，且也不会相互攻击，哪怕把一部分怪改成中立都不会这么恶心，经常跑图后面追着一大群各色各样的怪。

I absolutely loved this game! Bought it on PS4, fell in love, bought it on PC to get better graphics and am still in love. The story and scenery is absolutely magnificent and it only gets better the further you go, aslo talking about the second game.

Eu queria muito gostar desse jogo. Desde que via ele como exclusivo do Playstation eu sentia vontade de jogar. Julgava a temática muito boa, a caracterização muito boa e o estilo de combate também.

Não consegui jogar muito da campanha, mesmo tentando umas três vezes.

Todos os personagens parecem sem vida e sem carisma. Testei o áudio em português e depois em inglês, porque imaginei que poderia ser um problema com a dublagem ou mixagem de áudio, mas em inglês é igualmente chato. Os diálogos são realmente sem inspiração e carisma.

A ideia que continua vindo na minha cabeça é falta de carisma, mas também tenho outros pontos que não gostei.

Acredito que esse tipo de jogo de mundo aberto em que você pega uma quest com um NPC aqui, outro ali, e precisa ir lá longe, depois voltar, não me agrada mais. Falo dessas quests que só servem pra cumprir o objetivo da aba de quests. Piora que todas elas têm o problema da falta de carisma dos personagens.

A melhor forma de explicar os motivos de eu não ter gostado do jogo é: ele poderia facilmente ter sido feito pela Ubisoft.

I find it fascinating that a game announced over a decade ago is slowly starting to mirror the direction the real world seems to be heading. The idea of an AI-driven dystopia has always been compelling to me, and [i] Horizon Zero Dawn [/i] was one of the first games that made that concept feel grounded and believable rather than exaggerated sci-fi.

The story starts off relatively slow, but it steadily grows more engaging as the world opens up and Aloy begins uncovering her past. The mystery surrounding the world and its history is what drives the experience forward, giving real purpose to exploration.

Combat is a major highlight. Every machine requires a different approach, and the game rewards preparation, positioning, and smart use of weapons. Mods and weapon variety allow for different playstyles, and fights rarely feel repetitive. Side missions are also surprisingly strong — clearly given time and care, with memorable characters and emotional weight rather than feeling like filler.

However, inventory management is easily the most frustrating system in the game. Extremely limited space for mods and resources constantly forces you to stop, dismantle, or sell items, breaking the flow far too often. New Game+ also feels largely unnecessary — with endgame gear already unlocked, it offers little challenge and turns the story into more of a time investment than a fresh experience.

Despite these issues, [i] Horizon Zero Dawn [/i] remains engaging throughout. Its story, world, and combat work together to create an experience that feels less like a complete ending and more like the foundation for something much bigger.

My graphics weren't super great because I was using a PC, but the gameplay was pretty great regardless. All in all, the 60 hrs I played were well worth it. It only felt a little grindy near the end, but I quite liked this game. I could have done better at learning how the combat system worked and put it on a higher difficulty, but I didn't feel like pushing it for my first playthrough. I got to level 57 by the time I was through and got a lot of the Banuk stuff.

All in all, worth giving a shot. Idk that it's my favorite game of all time, but definitely leagues better than Star Wars Outlaws and high up in my list of games I found entertaining and enjoyable to play most of the time.

Aloy is too iconic, face card a 10, body is tea, wit is sharper than a razor.. slides down dirt, blows up traps near her face, gets trampled and thrown in every direction yet still come out looking fresh out of a Pantene commercial.

Love this game, been mostly exploring, combat-testing and side-questing for 20h, now I transferred my save over to the Remastered Version to continue there.
the world building is impressive, I love the focused combat style, the story set up, the machines...
Can't wait to pick it up where I left off in the remastered.

Quelques petites erreurs de level design ou d'écriture dans les dialogues n'enlèvent pas au titre sa majesté liée à l'audace ma^trisée quant aux machines animales dont le concept poussé est un régal d'une rare intensité tout au long de l'aventure ... La première fois que j'ai grimpé jusqu'à la t^te d'un long coup , je suis resté scotché en mode RP bien 10 minutes à profiter de la vue comme du moment . So well-made! level design is right on target, beautiful environs, amazing beasts. And a female heroine that passes the beschnel test. Even though its a bit older, the art is sometimes breathtaking. Your tactics evolve with your abilities, but you can always mess up if you're not careful. And there always seems to be a bigger beast around the corner to test you. I have a high tolerance for grindy sidequests, and I haven't hit that wall yet, but the world is open enough that if you don't want to do something, you just go do another thing. Great game!

Horizon is one of the most beautifully crafted worlds I've ever played and it is very clear that this was a very heavy art first project, but...

The gameplay is extremely bland, by the time i got the hardened tip arrows my brain was on auto pilot, shooting the same 3 weak spots that the game told me to over and over and over again and the Story...

I predicted the big plot twist when I started AS A JOKE. Aloy is not a compelling protagonist in the slightest and suffers from extreme Forsaken syndrome (needlessly sarcastic and always being right). Does she have mad drip? yes absolutely, am I going to remember her? God no.

The fact that they’re trying to turn this game series into a live service means this studio’s days are numbered.

Skyrim taught me the value of being a Stealth Archer. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom helped me refine my skills and encouraged my creativity and resourcefulness for Stealth Archery and Monster Trapping

All to lead me to this: Horizon Zero Dawn. Where Stealth Archery is raised to an artform, the game actively encouraging you to set traps and hunt monsters with a bow and arrow, and a slingshot. Sure, you have a spear- but its so satisfying flaking off pieces of a mechanical-animals armor, or sniping those explosive fuel cannisters, or disabling it's attacks with a well timed shot. Laying out trip wires so you can lure them into their death when they thought they were chasing yours.

And then you add in the collectable items, the side quests, the beautiful vistas, encouraging players to explore every nook and cranny of the world.

The story though- I fell in love with this game truly when I did the side quest to help an NPC find her brother who has schizophrenia, and the interactions with him are done with such kindness and empathy. Other quests where you start to see that many of the "villains" are misunderstood, discarded, desperate, and just need some patience and kindness. Aloy, the protagonist, a cast-out from birth for things she could not control, faces many of the same struggles and has such empathy for others, when she has been shunned by them throughout her life.

Incredible game, 10/10. Can't wait to dig more into it!

Horizon foi lançado em 2017, desde então se tornou o meu jogo favorito da vida. Eu sempre pensava quando chegaria o momento em que eu poderia jogar essa obra-prima, então chegou 2026 e aqui estou eu. Devo dizer que esse jogo superou todas as minhas expectativas. Explorar o mundo, evoluir os itens, descobrir itens, máquinas e novas possibilidades para a gameplay torna esse jogo magnífico. Eu não consigo expressar em palavras o quão realizado eu me sinto explorando esse mundo. Sem falar muito da protagonista, a Aloy é simplesmente maravilhosa, o mundo é vivo e cheio de segredos, a cada curva em uma montanha você vê máquinas novas, cenários lindos de tirar o fôlego, mas agora que cheguei ao fim do jogo, só me resta platinar e partir para Forbidden West. Espero que todos possam ter essa experiência magnífica que tive.

Ich fühle mich schon quasi gedrängt, zu diesem Werk eine positive Bewertung zu veröffentlichen.

Es ist nun wenige Minuten her, dass ich die letzte Errungenschaft (das Durchspielen der Geschichte im höchstmöglichen Schwierigkeitsgrad) abgeschlossen habe.

[b]Auch im zweiten Anlauf war das Spiel ein Genuss.[/b]
Freude für die Augen, anpassbare Schwierigkeit im laufenden Spiel, eine ausgeklügelte und interessante Geschichte und (auf Wunsch) auch sehr fordernde Begegnungen in Form von Kämpfen.

[b]Ausdrücklich schönes Ambiente[/b]
Das Spiel besteht aus abwechslungsreichen und stets herrlich zu durchschreitenden Landschaften.
Auslassbare (jedoch interessant zu hörende/lesende) Geschichtsschnipselchen erhöhen die Möglichkeit sich in die Geschichte fließen zu lassen.

[b]Die Kämpfe lassen sich von "trivial" bis hin zu "wirklich fordernd" skalieren.[/b]
Ein umfangreiches Arsenal an Waffen, Rüstungen und deren Modifikation verschaffen einem Spieler vielerlei Techniken sich in den Kämpfen zu behaupten. Je nach gewähltem Schwierigkeitsgrad darf man da auch schonmal im Vorfeld etwas grübeln, wie man größere Gegner (oder Horden von Gegnern) bezwingt.

[b]Ein perfekter Fluss[/b]
Ladebildschirme waren (bis auf die Schnellreise-Funktion) nicht gegeben - ohne Schnellreise könnte man das Spiel also vollkommen flüssig und ohne jedwede Unterbrechung spielen. Zugegeben ist mir das Spiel zwischendurch 2x abgestürzt - einmal davon hatte ich die Möglichkeit einen Fehlerbericht zu verschicken - das Spiel konnte jedoch ohne nennenswerten Verlust an Fortschritt (letzte Spielminute fehlte) fortgeführt werden.

Ab und an wurden kleine Geschicklichkeits-Stellen in das Spiel integriert (Kletter-Rätsel), die sich jedoch mit etwas Ruhe und genauem Hinsehen als nicht zu schwer herauskristallisierten.

Als unnötig empfundenes Wegfinden kann im Spielmenü mittels "Brotkrümelnavigation" ausgeschlossen werden - wem das zu viel Komfort ist, der schaltet diese Funktion einfach ab.

Die Erweiterung Frozen Wilds ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen - mehr Kletterpartien, forderndere Kämpfe, neue Waffen, sehr schönes Spielerlebnis.

[u]Ich war seit Gothic/Risen/Elex schon lange nicht mehr so angetan von solch einem Spiel.[/u]

Kleinigkeit, die mich persönlich positiv überrascht hat: ich konnte problemlos andere Programme nebenher laufen lassen und sogar den Rechner in den Stromspar-Modus versetzen ohne das Spiel vorher zu beenden (und es danach reibungslos fortsetzen).

Well, my problem with this game is wasted potential. The concept, designs and world overall are 10/10, but writing does not live up to it and isn't supporting it whatsoever. Basically, I am disappointed that this amazing and conceptual game turns out to be kind of dumb, which prevents me from being invested and makes me bored. Also, it loses a lot by trying to adopt the Ubisoft-slop style game loop, with mindless collectables all over the map. In the end, it's a fun game on paper, but it makes me extremely bored as soon as any character there opens their mouth.

I died a lot. (And have rather mixed feelings.)

Mainly, it just doesn't feel like my kind of game. I'm going with negative because I prioritize moment to moment gameplay and combat first and foremost, and just don't care how pretty the pixels are. This game sits at that odd spot where I don't feel like I can say it's a bad game, nor do I feel like it's a really a good game. Its world is visually gorgeous, has a decent story and lore, good sound design and the foundations for some good combat variety, but its core game loop is lacking and all its systems just feel shallow or not fully thought through.
I didn't end up visiting any smaller shops because you reach the main city so early in the game and I got the best equipment right off the bat. The enemies all felt so spongy even with targeting weak spots and their seemingly erratic behavior made it difficult to learn when I'd have an opening to use any particular piece of equipment resulting in not using anything but the bow for most fights.
I tried the whole game to use the stealth armor set with fully upgraded stealth weaves but just never figured out what it did. Shoot 1 arrow, while hiding inside a bush, and the entire area was alerted to your current location...

In summery:
-Beautiful but empty
-Tense but drawn out combat
-Lots to do but so little of value
-Easy to get into but never ramped up to offer a challenge.

escrevendo isso aqui depois de zerar pela primeira vez e... nada supera a sensação de você zerar um jogo que sempre quis jogar. conheci o game na época que lançou, mas não tinha condições de ter um PS4 até aquele momento, então fiquei preso e vidrado nas gameplays dos youtubers que acompanhava. só pude montar um PC ano passado, e assim que consegui, logo comprei o jogo. desde o inicio, a história me cativou de uma forma incrivel, e apesar de lembrar de muita coisa, é outra sensação você mesmo ter esse prazer. um sonho realizado! mal posso esperar pra jogar o Forbiden West e o futuro terceiro jogo da franquia, que só tem a crescer. espero que falquinos, aves-tempestade, tirânicos e britadeiras não me persigam até lá
